Cesar Milano looks nervous after Bergnovinaia scores their 3rd goal.

By: Beni Cortez

Gaveo wins against Bergnovinaia a opponent expected to win and put Gaveo on a two loss slide. Gaveo starts off with a goal from Santiago Rojas in the 7th minute, Gaveo leads 1-0. Another Gaveoan attack almost lead to another goal but it was blocked by the Bergnovinaian goalie. All things seemed well until the 18th minute where Bergnovinaia ties up the game 1-1. On the 21st minute Bergnovinaia scores another goal, taking he lead 2-1. Gaveo made another attack in the 37th minute but was repelled and in a beautiful counter-offensive they increase their lead 3-1. Gaveo feared another rout from a higher ranking opponent but before halftime Gaveo responded with a goal from Cesar Milano making the match closer for the Gaveoan side, 3-2 at the half. Gaveo tied with Bergnovinaia 3-3 in the 49th minute with a header from Sebastian Cadiz with a nice cross from Cesar Milano. In the 67th minute Bergnovinaia attempted to reclaim the lead and nearly did but Joaquin Cadiz swatted the ball away just before the ball crossed the line, defender Sebastian Riveros quickly kicked the ball before the Bergnovinaian striker could kick the ball into the net. The same cross landed to Bru Yo Chan, he passed it to Une Yabro he then forwarded it to Cesar Milano he then passed it to Sebastian Cadiz and he shot the ball, the poor Bergnovinaian goalie couldn't react quickly enough to block the game winning goal. Gaveo leads in the 69th minute and retains it till the final whistle blew, securing Gaveo's 3rd win and putting Gaveo in 2nd place in Group 16. Can we beat Cassadaigua a team that tied 4-4 to Catholican Catholica? We will find out next, as always go Gaveo!

Sebastian Cadiz was surrounded by his teammates and they chanted his name, he was attempted to be humble as he told his brothers in the pitch that it was a team effort not a single man's effort. They quieted down a bit but were still congratulating him, he now needed to get ready for the sea of reporters to ask him a numerous amount of questions. Few minutes later he ran to the podium to answer questions the first man stood up and asked him a question, "Mr. Cadiz what do think about Gaveo's second place ranking in Group 16?" Sebastian couldn't help but smile at that report and responded, "Well, I think that's great." Some reporters chuckle, Sebastian continued, "Look, this placing shows how hard work and team work can make a team win. If we continue this formula you might just see us in Wight or New Montreal States." He smiles and continues, "Next question?" A woman stands up and asks her question, "Sebastian, did you hear the reports of a new virus in the Petronan Islands?" Sebastian smile disappears, "No, no I haven't. I am sure its just some flu nothing major." The woman sits down and another man stands up. "Yo Cadiz, Beni Cortez for the Gaveoan Times, would you be willing to have a interview?" Sebastian thought for a second and nodded, "Sure, um how does 7 PM sound?" Beni Cortez smiled, "Sounds great." Sebastian was rather confused and ask him a question, "Um, would you like to ask a question?" Beni shook his head, "No, I would like to save them for the interview." The reporters laughed as did Sebastian. Sebastian said something, "Okay, that's enough questions good night folks." He walked off the podium, already getting ready for the interview tomorrow.

worst week ever part 4

Postby Qazox » Mon Apr 01, 2013 8:53 pm

We were roughly shoved into a room and two men with guns (Greg and Terry) stood watch over us.

"Faith, what was that guy talking about?" Her husband asked.

"Not now, Nathan." She replied. "I'm almost done here."

"Whatever you're doing, stop it now, or I'll shoot." One of the guys (Greg, I think), said pointing his gun at Faith.

What happened next, I still can't comprehend, but within a minute, Faith had disabled both men and had cut free our tied hands.

"Faith..." Nathan started.

"Honey, just be quiet for a moment. I used to be an operative for the Q.I.A. The man who kidnapped us is the only person my deceased partner Buck Eyes and I never arrested. His name is Athelthane Sonjay Santiago. He's the prime suspect in Buck's death and is one of the biggest druglords in the multiverse. Just before I retired, Buck and I raided one of his homes in Secristan and accidentally killed his pregnant wife. He went underground for the next 13 years, and until Buck's death, we thought he had died in Newmanistan when that nation disappeared. Now we have to get out of here, before he decides to pay us a visit."

The Spenson Star
Nothing doing for Zs

It was a little after six, that memorable evening, when things started seeming off. By eleven or so, Zwangzug's pandemic had reached its nadir, with almost one in eleven infected.

After that, things picked up, a cure was spread, and by five the next afternoon the all-clear call had come in for the national football team to depart the home stadium where they'd holed away in. According to coach Bridget Scroves, the team had learned plenty about each other--who snored (Loris Muraro-Ughi: trust Bassabook people to make pointless noise in their sleep), who could still look presentable despite the conditions (Penny Consky-Bock), who had nightmares (well, more or less everybody, the distinctions were in who forgot them). Scroves herself had not slept after receiving the initial warning call. She confesses that she got to fearing that her insomnia was maybe a sign of poor health, which only led to more fear, so she was in no shape to lead any sort of extra practice the next morning. However, captain Brett Chrowder had the team run laps. "It'll be good practice for escaping zombies," Patricia Eliot blandly claimed, until Shula Bachchan-Laum pointed out that technically why would zombies run in ovals and they'd all sort of dropped the subject.

Then it was back down to find that certain swaths of the rest of us had been exhibiting the infamous "flu-like symptoms." The research process was just what you'd expect: take samples (extremely carefully and from a distance if possible), analyze them, run some quick tests, moan about having to get informed consent forms, and proceed, all within a matter of hours, as more or less a matter of course.

We'd wanted to keep track of how many people had been cured, of course, and make sure no one was double-counted because then somebody would get left out at the end. This was rather easily carried out, by ensuring people filled out forms. In duplicate. Only in Zwangzug, the social media sites flickered, there's nothing to fear from zombies but the bureaucracy gets you.

Starways Congress had passed from the madness of March to the absurdity of April (there's a tenuous connection between regional pride and collegiate sports, even if the extant university football system hadn't gotten around to showing off who'd won its brackets). However, there were a few gasps (after the cure had spread across the country) that Zwangzug's government had temporarily evicted some foreigners in the interests of maintaining their perfect bill of health. Too, there were more absurd rumors that the government had rallied up agents provocateurs to try and restabilize other sporting powers, but these were mocked. [By people in Zwangzug. Not the residents of the other sporting powers. -ed] Oh that's what you think.

After that the football team went to Soviet Canuckistan and recorded their first tie in their new era. It was also a scoreless game, which seemed fitting. Zwangzug: if the zombies don't get you the stultifying play will.

Melody Pond and Princess Melody after another Jeru FC win ...

Pond: Another injury, we're starting to run out of players
Princess: Some of them aren't exactly that fit either
Pond: It's not like we have any more reserves from somewhere else
Princess: We could play!
Pond: Hey, I have enough things to do
Princess: I mean if we really do run out of players

Pond: I guess it's better than dragging random people of the street
Princess: When's the last time you played a football game?
Pond: A long time ago ... before I had kids
Princess: I'll still in good shape
Pond: Yes, you are.
Princess: I just need to train more

Pond: I think we have enough players for now
Princess: These girls aren't young, they take ages to recover now
Pond: Well, we could ask for some more players as cover
Princess: Won't happen, costs money to move people around
Pond: Always down to money
Princess: Everything is Pondy

Pond: We're already over budget
Princess: Must have been them hospital bills
Pond: And cancellation fees for when rearranged our schedule
Princess: We need a fundraiser
Pond: You could throw monet into the kitty
Princess: Hoy, we paid for the Cup of Harmony last cup.

Pond: Oh yes, I guess that's wasn't cheap.
Princess: We need ideas for fundraiser.
Pond: Nude calendars?
Princess: Well, those always work.
Pond: Well, those girls aren't exactly virgin mary types
Princess: Yes, it worked for Jeruselem before

Pond: Don't think a car wash would really bring much money
Princess: We can't afford to spend much
Pond: The military might complain about it's people being nude
Princess: They gave a bunch of skanks in the first place
Pond: Oh yes
Princess: I'll see what I can do

Zombie Apocolypse Threatens World Cup
Atlantian Oceania Develops, Distributes Cure

It was always a risk, letting a nation like Zomni into Atlantian Oceania. It really hadn't seemed that bad once they showed up though.

There were some fears of a questionable past - of course, dabbling in the art of zombie experimentation. Rumor even suggested that the reason they came to Atlantian Oceania in the first place was to start afresh after completely losing control of their zombie experiment and putting their very existence at risk.

But start fresh they did. After debuting quietly in World Cuppet IV, Zomni established a football league and signed up for the Nationstates World Cup, even participating in the Baptism of Fire.

Perfectly reasonable activities for an up-and coming nation in the world's largest sporting region.

Then came Matchday 4. Zomni was traveling to Atlantian Oceania rivals Akbarabad for a World Cup qualifying fixture. Struggling in group 13, the Zomni players knew they were in a situation where they just had to win to keep themselves in a respectable position. It was a true 6 pointer with a qualification favorite. They asked the team doctors for every possible drug they could think of that wouldn't get noticed by testing. They needed every edge they could get.

One team doctor remembered the zombie experiments. He was part of them. He remember one experiment where instead of trying to cure or kill the zombies, they were trying to control them. the result, undead beings with super strength and stamina. It was never tested on non-zombie's, of course, but hey, if the players wanted it... he had, after all, smuggled a few test tubes on his way out of the lab. Unfortunately, they weren't labeled.

He knew the one he was looking for had a kind of purplish hue to it. There were two that met the description, one more purplish than the other, so thats the one he injected into 3 of the Zomni players before the Akbarabad match.

The players performed well, netting twice against a top side but ended up losing anyway. After the match, some of the players started feeling ill but gritted it out to the next week where they hosted Anollasia. Akbarabad, meanwhile, traveled to another 10,000 Islands nation, New Ecopia. The doctor had a feeling something was wrong - the side effects weren't what he expected. But things really didn't start until the referee blew his whistle to kick off the Matchday 5 fixtures.

No sooner did the matches complete then were law enforcement and government officials called in to investigate reports of zombies running around Zomni. Unknown to the inhabitants, the virus had spread to 10,000 islands as well. The news quickly got worse.

One of the infected Zomni players apparently infected the referee the previous match against Akbarabad. That referee was assigned to the Boring Paradise v. Swyftlandre match on Matchday 5 resulting in the virus spreading into Rushmore, and, eventually to Esportiva as well.

All due to the careless acts of one doctor in Zomni, the sporting world was attacked with an unforeseen Zombie Apocolypse. At the heart of the infection, the home of sport, Atlantian Oceania.

Originating within the region, the virus quickly spread to all corners of Atlantian Oceania. Defending world champion nation Audioslavia, not looking to put its champion athletes at risk, adopted a shoot-on-sight policy for all citizens encountering a zombie-virus infected person. Others followed suit and for a while death and infection encompassed the region.

The rate of infection steadily increased in Rushmore and Esportiva as well as nations struggled just to keep the zombies out of their major cities. It seemed that all of the multiverses' sporting regions were doomed. Isolated nations such as Qazox, free of the cure, suggested the World Cup be postponed or even cancelled while the pandemic was dealt with. Safe and isolated in the Q continuum, the Qazoxians were clearly concerned with being forced to travel into an infected region - or worse, have potentially infected players travel inside its own borders.

Just as it seemed all was lost, however, with Rushmore and Esportiva virtual wastelands of zombie remains, with the death count's easily reaching 50% across the board and survivor colonies dwindling below the 10% mark, something magical happened right where it started, in Atlantian Oceania.

The President-Dictablanda of Wight, Jean Baptiste, opened the gate to the Lonely Road, bridging the gap between the living and... well those dead who live on. Quickly, the regional super powers of Vilita, Commerce Heights and Legalese who previously could focus only on containing their own issues could focus on something else: A Cure.

Vilitans, Paripanans and Legalite's got together with other great minds from throughout the region - the West Guianan, The Inevitable the Farf and others, to develop the cure.

Using methods already developed in Bazolonia and 95x the group quickly developed live antibodies for testing. Unfortunately, the cure could not be deployed due to the risk to the surviving population. Zombies now out numbered citizens by 3 to 1 and there was no way to get the cure from the lab to the few surviving pockets of nations throughout Atlantian Oceania.

Thats when the big guns of Audioslavia stepped in. Taking - no names - and kicking zombie butt was the special of the day for the bulls and the zombie count quickly started going down while the dead zombie count shot up.

The opening allowed the Vilitans to solicit help from outside the region - From the NationStates Community, Zwangzug and the Equestrian States.

It also allowed the rest of the cure team to start distributing. At first in limited quantities but progress was being made. In another major turning point, the opening of the portal down the lonely road had an additional side effect. Not just people, but nations, long since dead and forgotten about, made the trek back from the dead and into Atlantian Oceania. Each nation free of the zombie virus and ready to distribute the cure to the nations who needed it the most to stave off the infection.

Finally, the number of Dead zombies on their way down the lonely road exceeded the number of living and there were nearly as many citizens as zombies. The cure could be fully distributed and even the Audioslavian's put down their guns to help the recovery effort. By the time Matchday 6 rolled around, the infected ratio in Atlantian Oceania had dropped from 75% to nearly 25% with the remaining survivors having no problem dealing with the remaining zombies, many of whom, if not cured, were dying off on their own.

Atlantian Oceania had been saved. The Audioslavians, knowing they may never win another World Cup, protected it as if their very lives depended on it - which it may very well have - and maintaining the highest un-infected population in the region. The World Cup was safe. Sport was safe. The apocalypse was avoided, tomorrow would come.

Of course, the story was not as pretty in Rushmore. The Whirl Islands, Saugeais, Astograth and Karditan worked together on a cure but the Zombies were just overwhelming. By the time the Zwangzug mission was sent to Rushmore to check on the antibodies they thought they had discovered it was too late. Billions were lost. Entire nations appeared to be lost. The Esportivan's had fared slightly better, but the story was grim there too. Things never looked up at the nations of Esportiva, Rushmore and 10,000 Islands went into Matchday 6 of World Cup qualifying as contagious as they could possibly be, hoping - praying for a cure.

Those who got to travel to Atlantian Oceania were lucky to get a piece of the cure but it was not effective in all climates. Not until the Barry cure, were the regions of Rushmore, Esportiva and 10,000 Islands finally able to recover from the Zombie Apocalypse.

Rachel: I'm so glad you invited me! Tim is great!
Luis: So, could this be THE guy?
Rachel: I think so! He is so hot and so nice! How's Lily?
Luis: Sooooooo boring.
Rachel: Well, I'm having fun!
Tim: So that's why my sister went to jail.
(Rachel laughs hysterically)
Lily: And that happened because spoons are NOT made of helium.
Luis: Why are you so boring?!
Lily: What?
Luis: Why are you so boring?!
Lily: Excuse me for being smart!
Luis: Smart?! You're not smart! You just say uninteresting facts that no one cares about!
(Lily runs off crying)
Tim: Who do you think you are?!
(Tim runs after Lily)
(Rachel flicks Luis' forehead)
Luis: (laughs nervously) Hehe... well I had a hoot but it's getting late. (fake yawns

*In Mark's car*
(Mark picks up Aaron from jail)
Mark: So what happened?
Aaron: You ran a red light.
Mark: Ha-Ha.
Aaron: I gave a guy a concussion.
Mark: How?
Aaron: Ask Julie.
Mark: You know... I don't need to know anymore.
Aaron: What did you do today?
Mark: I got plastic surgery.
Aaron: Why?
Mark: You know how you guys laughed at me when I did a certain facial expression?
(Aaron giggles)
Mark: But it was only that. My smile is the same, my frown is the same.
Aaron: It looks good.
Mark: Thank you. (smiles) Wait, what?
Aaron: Oh there's no more bread yet. We need to go to the shops.
Mark: Alright.
(Mark and Aaron arrive at store and a lady approaches them and gives them a handout)
Lady: Happy Sourdough Bread Day!
Aaron: Oh, thank you! (walks away) She seems nice!
Mark: Are you kidding me?
Aaron: I gotta ask her out!
Mark: Why?
Aaron: She's hot!
Mark: And stupid...
(Another lady spots Mark)
Mark: Hide me, Aaron!
Aaron: Why?
Mark: That's Alison Tortelli! I accidentally broke her nose, remember?!
Aaron: Oh!
Alison: Mark, is that you?
Mark: Who's Mark? I'm Doug. Doug Martin. Nice to meet you. (shakes Alison's hand)
Alison: No you're not. You're Mark Viney, the football player who BROKE MY NOSE!
Mark: No I'm not.
(Reporters approach Mark)
Reporter #1: Mr Mark Viney, what did think about your performance against The Royal Kingdom of Quebec?
Reporter #2: What do you think about your club performance?
Alison: You lied to me!
Mark: (clears throat) Who's Mark Viney! People keep approaching me calling me that!
Reporters: Sorry. So sorry, sir.
Alison: I guess you're not Mark Viney. I'm so sorry for bugging you.

Borring Paradice hands Khytenna their 2nd lose

Khytenna- 1
Firestone 19th

Boring Paradise- 2
Jaklim 13th, 44th

After two important win for Khytenna, this game was the chance to put a commanding lead in fount of Khytenna's group rivals, however a touch of class buy young Sameer Jaklim was enough to undo Khytenna good efforts and, despite Khytenna great preformance in the second half, Khytenna could not grab a goal back and where handed their second defeat.

Jaklim was first on the score sheet with a sublime effort, he received a high ball in to the box by Harris, Jaklim let it bounce before hooking the ball over the keeper for a great goal to open the scoring, Troy was taken completely be surprise by the sudden shot, probably expecting the ball to go to Malik.

The stripes needed a response to get back into back into the game, and they found it when Firestone capitalised on a Daniel Jones error, after the defender made a wayward pass to Johnston, it was intercepted by Firestone who quickly move the ball in the box, with Johnston hanging of him, Firestone made a low shot, and powered the ball past Homewood to draw level

However in the dying moments of the first half, Jaklim struck again, this time from a fantastic killer shot from a corner kick, the ball flooted in from the corner after Ali crossed it in to the box, jaklim smashed in a volly, just going to underside of the crossbar, it happened so fast, that once again Troy had no chance of stopping it.

Khytenna bouced back in the second half, and turned on the offenice, with Yzo and Rusek coming on the bring more flair to the team, it nearly worked as Khytenna had 3 chances that went begging, one for a free-kick from Falcon that was punched clear by the keeper, Rusek tried to head home the goal, but it went over. the others was by Firestone and Yzo, both missing open goals, Firestone managed to get past the keeper but sent the ball to the sky instead, Yzo was almost as bad, when Firestone made a low shot that the keeper deflected with his leg, Yzo pounced on the ball with an open goal, but but the ball the wrong side of the post.

Khytenna had the guts in the second half, but where of target, and in the end, the Boring Paradise just edged them for a win, now Khytenna are 4th with 12 points, with Boring paradise and Kiryu-shi ahead on goal difference, and with the mighty starblaydia storming ahead on points.

Khytenna's next game will be away at Nova Cambria, and Khytenna will make a few changes to the team resting a few players.

Nethertopia 1–1 The Inevitable Syndicate
Nethertopia: Unknown 23' / Syndicate: Mitchell 52'
A dissapointing draw against Nethertopia today, in what some would call "the most zombified game of the century". It really seemed that both the players from Nethertopia and the Syndicatian players really seemed sluggish and not up to scratch. The ball was all over the place, and it was lucky there wasn't a higher score, as some key shots were deflected by Archer. Nethertopia did score after a good cross in the 23rd, but it took an age for the Syndicate to retaliate, with Mitchell's goal from a corner in the 52nd. Unfortunately, shortly after, Pratt went down in an awkward tackle that got one of the Nethertopia players a yellow card. This ended the game on a bitter note, and now puts the Syndicate in 5th place. Hopefully we'll see less draws and more wins in the future!

“What have you found, Bones?” Raymond said, cleaning his glasses back at base. “Anything of interest, or is it just a pretty picture?”
“Oh, Raymond, prepare to be blown away...” Bones eyed the book from her EyeGlass so that the rest of the team could read it. It read thus:
The Temple of Raresh
The Temple of Raresh is approximated to be over 4000 years old, constructed around the rule of Pharaoh Ahmuntet. Little is known on what the actual temple is for, and excavations have failed to turn up anything really interesting. Some of the things that have come from the Raresh Dig site include: pots, old combs, scrolls...

“What does this have to do with the Meteoricon?” piped Thomas, who was getting bored of reading.
“The picture, Thomas, the scroll?”
The entire group collectively moved their eyes to the picture at the bottom of the page. The picture was of a scroll, dug from the ruins around the Temple of Raresh, and it said:
In the Ruins of Raresh you will find,
If you are so oddly inclined,
A machine given to us from the gods,
That lets us grow things like pea pods,
But to access it you first must do,
Three challenges that will test you.
If one shall enter, one shall leave,
With riches and glory upon his sleeve.
These three challenges are rather unkind,
The first challenge is one of the mind,
And if you succeed then you will see,
Challenge two, a test of strength, and he
Who passes that one moves on to
Challenge three, a duel with you!
For I am the Pharaoh, and here I slumber,
Deep beneath the tarnished umber,
To find these riches you must find,
Some people of another kind,
Enter the tomb and see the stars,
And plead again with the one who spars,
When his will is finally broken,
The way to eternal glory will open.

“That's the worst poem I've ever read!” exclaimed Laura.
The others stared at her in disbelief.
“Were you even listening?” Jones commented. “That poem has just told us how to find the Meteoricon! It's in the Ruins of Raresh!”
“TO THE RUINS!” Raymond cried down the microphone, as he took his EyeGlass off and did a small dance around the office, Back in Ahlenfi, Andrew and Stephen looked around uncomfortably, looked at each other, nodded, and walked out of the library.
Dr. Bones sighed. “To the ruins...”

Bio:James Solomon is one of the biggest goalkeepers in Bloumany. James has been considered a goalkeeping prodigy since and was signed by Kings Park Wanderers making his debut at the age of 17 years and 5 days making him the youngest professional goalkeeper in the history of Blouman football. James has a lot of goalkeeping pedigree as both his father and grandfather both played for top clubs during their playing careers it was only natural for James to be a keeper. Having helped lead Regarmar to the U18 Imperial Cup win James it was then that Kings Park signed him up, playing a total of 20 games he successfully kept a clean sheet in 18 of those games. The following season during the Blouman Cup final he was instrumental in Kings Park win by saving a total of 7 penalty kicks. He also helped Kings Park win the title the following season in the Regarmar League A with a total of 19 clean sheets from 22 games When it came time for Harry Malsomp to choose his team there was no doubt in his mind that James would be the #1 keeper a view that has been held with his predecessor Sir Nathan Kolson. Despite some large losses James has continued to be a dominant force in goals and has pulled off some seemingly impossible saves against some of the best international strikers.

James has expressed his desire to remain at Kings Park and has confidently stated on a number of occasions that he feels he can continue for another 10 years before retirement, regardless of how long he continues he has already made a mark as one of the best keepers of Bloumany and will continue to bring his determination and skill to every game. His eldest son Diesel (age 8 ) is continuing with the family tradition and is currently in the Kings Park Youth academy in training as a goalkeeper, time will tell if he becomes as good as his father and grandfather.

For today's World Cup story, we just transcribed the audio from an interview between two KSN (Ko-orenite Sports Network) reporters and Pet Rilasthaunden, the national team coach.

"Mr. Rilasthaunden, we are from KSN. Could we have a word?"

"Sure, why not. What is it you would like to know?"

"We had some questions about the training. Was today's training a good representation of the average training of the Ko-oren squad?"

"Why yes! Of course. We didn't do anything special just because it's Michael VII we're playing against tomorrow!"

(To remind the readers: Michael VII and Ko-oren are the last two teams to not lose a game so far. MVII is first with 4-2-0, Ko-oren is fourth with 2-4-0. Their goal difference is +8 because of 13 goals scored and only 5 conceded. Ko-oren has 5 scored and just 3 conceded.)

"No pressure either? If we lose this, we can kiss the playoffs goodbye."

"Can't we already kiss those goodbye? I'm working on a squad for the future here! We're going to finish this cycle without a loss, I tell you!"

"Isn't that a little pessimistic and optimistic at the same time? We have 10 points, and because MVII tied, we're only 4 points behind! We can still win this!"

"Sure, but who is going to score?"

"Mr. Rilasthaunden, are you doing our job for us right now? Ehm, back to the training. Was it really necessary to just use one half of the field?"

"Of course! How else do you think we're going to play? None of our players is going to leave our half, anyway? I said we're not going to lose a game! How do you do that? Not concede a goal!"

"So, you let them train on one side of the field just to get used to the 'real match experience'?"

"If you want to call it that, go ahead. But that's not all, of course we're going to counterattack when there is an opportunity. That was where the other half of the pitch was for. Haven't you seen that?"

"Sure. How could we forget. One half of the field was for defending, the other half, imagine it's MVII's half, is the half we attack on. But why were all the buses parked there?"

"Two things. One: it's inspiration for our defenders. I parked the buses there, the defenders just looked at parked buses for two hours. This afternoon, we're going on a field trip to a bus garage. The other thing is that our strikers can practise there."

"Against parked buses?"

"Sure, could you imagine a better defense than five buses parked in front of the goal?"

"Can't argue with you there."

"Isn't it? It's a brilliant idea. I'm sorry, I'll have to end the interview here, we're going to the bus garage right now."

"This early? It's not even lunch time."

"That's part of training. Defending is about concentration. And how else are you going to train concentration? Right. Go to a bus garage and watch parked buses for four hours... intently."

"Didn't you already get a practice against The Archregimancy then? They had a two hour long anthem."

"Yes, and I couldn't thank them enough for it!"

Election Campaigning Continues, Candidates Prepare for Debate

Sicoutimont's electoral candidates responded to key questions Thursday, and also prepared for the first All Candidate's Debates next week. Social Democratic Union candidate Niles Coaches spoke in Riviere St-Denis about the economy, and Charles-Jean Roberval responded to claims he was a militarist in St-Simeon. Louis Brebeur made a short appearance in rural North Sicoutimont, appearing in the village of Hue-sur-Rouge. In Riviere St-Denis, Coaches spoke about the importance of agriculture in the economy, and disputing Roberval's claims a massive canal was needed: "The agricultural industry of Sicoutimont is it's heartblood.....everyday farmers provide food for our citizens, while people like Charles-Jean Roberval claim we need to waste billions of taxpayer money on canals linking the south to Lac-Drouin, overlooking the fact that the Drouin River houses Sicoutimont's largest ports and is the main artery of our nation. We don't need a giant super project conceived by an old architect, we need more programs to reward our farmers for the good work they do. People like Yves Georges of Loicville-sur-Baines, a family friend of mine, he's a farmer. He works all day in the fields, providing food for you and I in the major cities. We will reward farmers for the hard work they do, rather than waste money on worthless canals that we already have naturally." 'Reward farmers': This could sound like a bad video game: Achievement! Feed 50 people, get 2 extra cows! But all jokes aside, a small system to reward farmers for the work they do could be big in the polls for Coaches. Charles-Jean Roberval appeared at the National Civil War Museum in St-Simeon. "The Labour Party of Sicoutimont do not support outright war....Mr. Coaches is quite right to say that many Sicoutians would be lost in a war.....however, we must be adamant to the truth here. An attack on a Sicoutian ally is an attack on Sicoutimont, especially if that territory borders Sicoutimont's territory. However, unlike Mr. Coaches claimed, the party and I do not want war. We are simply stating that we will be there to defend our sovereignty and the sovereignty of our allies should war break out. A Labour government would increase spending slightly in the military, but not enough for a large take away from another government department. Our full party platform will be released after the first debate, so check it out." At least he didn't talk about building things. Geez. Mr. Roberval did make some true statements, which is more than can be said about Louis Brebeur. I mean, comrades, Brebeur appeared at a community centre in Hueville-sur-Rouge. "The cause of the Worker's is the greatest cause in the history of Sicoutimont. And the Communist Party of Sicoutimont looks to put the 'Commun' into 'community,' comrades. We will work with the ordinary worker to create social, sporting, and other programs for the members of the worker community. Comrades, with these great times for the Sicoutian economy, led by Mr. Coaches, it is time for a great Socialist Worker's Revolution to bring the true spirit of the worker to Sicoutimont." The national debate will be broadcasted nationwide next week. It will take place at Lac-Drouin Centre Nationale, with the 3 major party leaders invited. With the topic being 'Regional and International Relations, Economically and Militarily', we wonder what the national and international reaction to the debate will be. Hot topics will include the Westlands, the current political tensions in Rushmore, and the civil conflict in Rushmori nation Mytannion. Here's the latest poll, from The Lac-Drouin Times Department of Statistics.

What party will you be most inclined to vote for as of May 25, 2019?
Social Democratic Union-43%
Labour Party of Sicoutimont-42%
Communist Party of Sicoutimont-10%
Other-5%

The SDU and Labour pull much closer together. The Communists keep the same amount of supporters, and Other gained a percentage. However, the two polls were conducted by different agencies, so the real numbers will come after the debate, when both sides conclude their second polls. It does, however, appear it will be SDU and LPS going for the Prime Minister's Office, with the Communists picking up a good 20 seats, with maybe a party like the Greens or Conservatives getting into the house. Tune into the debate, and we'll give you the rundown on what was said, who lost, and who looks like they'll be winning the election. The second debate after this is in two weeks, and will be about the Economy.

Royales Defeat New Sideburn By Large Score, Finally are Les Royales hitting their stride?

The first game for Les Royales against the Baptism of Fire champions, and it didn't go so well for the champs. However, it didn't go well early for Les Royales. Lucia Oakwood scored a goal on a free kick in the 21st minute, and Gerhard Thunder followed that with a header of a corner kick in the 38th to put the home side up 2. Alex Gannot cut the deficit to 1 2 minutes later, in the 36th. And then, it appeared to go wrong for the hosts, with star Portia Thrift being accidentally hit out of the game on a corner kick. Christopher Savard's head and Thrift's appeared to make contact, but no card was given on the play. This can be looked at as a controversial decision, based on what happened next. 2 minutes later, Savard sent a long sliding shot on net, and it just happened to spill of the keeper, Kurtis Fitzmarten, into the back of the net. Tie game, 2-2. 6 minutes later, Girard Giroux bore down the left side, faking the defender. A pass across to Stan Sarault was not broken up or punched away, and Sarault's drive ended up in the net. In the process, it hit Fitzmarten's head as he attempted to dive back to save the shot. Fitzmarten was visibly shaken, but would continue the game. In the 82nd minute, Girard Giroux received the ball, and faking around the defender, found himself in a 1-on-1 with Kurtis. He pulled out to the left before drawing the keeper back in, and then slipped it between his legs, in a move that made the keeper fall down. One, however, could not blame the poor result on Kurtis. And for a first-time team in only their fifth World Cup match, a loss to a team higher in the rank could not be considered a very poor result. The fifth goal was unstoppable: Giroux buried his 2nd with a shot that appeared faster than a motorcycle, going from his kleat to the back of the net so quick after he received the ball, even Girard was surprised it went in. Sicoutimont's next match is against Jeruselem, in the first match so far at Stade Pierre-Beach, also known as SportCity. Can Sicoutimont defeat the high-flying team that's first in the group, or will Jeruselem continue their march through the group, with 6 wins. After that, it's Northern Sunrise Islands in that country, then Kinzar at home. Then we get a month off before the second half of qualifying starts again in July. It's Rikatan again, the only team Les Royales have lost to currently, this time at home. Tune into your television to see Sicoutimont take on Jeruselem. Or, if you live in the area, why not head down to Stade Pierre-Beach? It's got 116,000 seats, and I'm sure you can find room for yourself and a few friends! So come on out to the game! It should be a sunny afternoon, and the weather looks great! If you don't live in the area, well, you can watch it on TV, listen live on Radio, or if you feel more secretive, wait till Tuesday, when we'll recap the game, and the first election debate!

Part 6

Viola turned to Kharamhan with a puzzled look upon her face. The referee had just blown the whistle for half-time and the Paradystopi and Vegan players were leaving the field.

"Is football normally this boring?"

Kharamhan shook his head. The match had been appalling thus far. Literally nothing had happened. Obviously scared of the strength of the Vegan team, the Paradystopi had gone into hyper-defensive mode and the ball had spent most of the half stuck between the edge of the Paradystopi penalty box and the half-way line. Eld'mosu had taken two speculative efforts, but both failed to trouble Volgjsrhaad, Jabez had produced the only bona fide Paradystopi attack but hadn't enough strength to keep Tas'dyn from dispossessing him and Evelyn Paradys had received a yellow card for giving as good as she got tussling with Tia'bel.

"How much longer will this game last?"

Gesturing with his watch, Kharamhan indicated another hour at least. Viola slumped in her chair and yawned. It was then that Kharamhan noticed something. Another fan, a few rows behind him and off to the right, was glaring at him. Then, realising he had been spotted, he quickly looked away. Something didn't feel right. Scanning around the stadium, he noticed three other spectators exhibiting the same behaviour. He retrieved his notebook from his pocket and nudged Viola, who seemed to be on the verge of falling asleep.

where/who did you get these tickets from?

"Oh, some guy at the club. Said he couldn't make the game and it would be a shame for them not to get used."
where/who did you get these tickets from?
i think we just walked into a trap

"Pfft! When did you get all paranoid?"
i think we just walked into a trap
four men are watching us

Viola looked to where Kharamhan gestured with his eyes.

"Darling, I get this all the time. Just ignore them. They're probably just jealous. Let's make them more jealous."

Giggling, she grasped his lapels, pulled him suddenly towards her and kissed him tenderly. Kharamhan fought to pull away but Viola hung on. Upon being relinquished, he quickly turned towards the seat of the first spectator he had noticed. Gone. The guy had vanished, as had all the others. Something was definitely not right. Why had he come here? Everything was gravitating towards this stadium and without thinking, he had just gone and sat himself right here. Had he just thrown himself into the lion's jaws? Again he reached for his notebook.

WHO did you get these tickets from?!

"Sheesh! Kharri. Calm down. They've gone. It's nothing."

Kharamhan re-emphasised his sentence.

WHO did you get these tickets from?!

Viola rolled her eyes and presented her unimpressed face. The look of 'you're really starting to piss me off'

"I didn't know him. Alright? He had two spare tickets for what I thought was going to be a decent game of football and I offered to take them."
WHO did you get these tickets from?!
Did he offer these tickets to anyone else at the club?

"I don't know Kharri. Does it matter?"
Did he offer these tickets to anyone else at the club?
I know a thousand and one people who'd have sawn their own legs off to be at this game. So why does he offer them, for free, to a girl who's never been to a football match before?

Viola fell silent. She wasn't particularly impressed at being called a girl but she did realise that Kharamhan had a point. She also looked to the locations of the people watching them. Now just vacant seats. Looking back to Kharamhan, a hint of fear flickered in her deep-blue eyes.

"... Should we go? ..."

"They're moving sir."
"Such a shame, they'll miss the end of the match."
"Should we follow them?"
"Of course. Keep me updated."
"Certainly sir. For the Glory of the Commune."
"Yes ... indeed."

Tau placed down the phone and smiled at the gentleman across the table from him. Together they sat in a pub just outside the stadium. Tau's accomplice smiled, then grimaced as he moved his bandaged hand to pick up his drink.

"Well Mr. Zevik. You have been true to your word and the Commune thanks you greatly for your aid to our cause."
"Just be sure to leave the girl for me."

Tau chuckled.

"So it was your brother you say who passed on the tickets?"
"Yes. Dear Markus."
"Ingenious."
"I thought so. I assumed that bitch would smell a rat if I tried to do it personally."
"Indeed. So what are your plans for miss Viola?"

Festus Zevik grinned maniacally, displaying his teeth which were yellowed through years of chronic smoking.

"A gentleman never tells, Mr. Azrak. What are yours with Mr vol'de Rastred'alsabasz?"
"Would it be ungentlemanly to divulge that we intend to kill him?"

Festus again grinned and took another sip of his drink. He was beginning to get a pain in his stomach but the excitement over the prospect of revenge for his wrist masked it. Tau watched intentively and Festus slowly finished his beer.

"Ohhh ... I don't think that beer agrees with me ... "
"Alcohol consumption is a deviation from perfection, Mr. Zevik. That is why I do not drink."
"Oww ... I don't .. eurgh ... I don't feel ... "

Tau's phone beeped. It told him that Kharamhan and Viola were about to leave the stadium. Festus was now writhing in agony in his chair. Tau smiled to himself.

"Mr. Zevik, we regretfully inform you that you are relieved of your duties. As you already know far too much about our involvement in this matter, I'm afraid the only option is termination."
"Wha ... eurgh! ... What?!"
"Goodbye Mr. Zevik."

Tau strode confidentally out of the pub, leaving Festus Zevik to finally stop breathing, contorted in agony in the secluded corner seat. Touching his inside pocket, to confirm his gun was nestled safely within, he went about making his rendezvous with Kharamhan.

Kharamhan had noticed the three suspicious looking gentlemen tailing him and Viola as they made for the exit. Where's the fourth? He was sure there had been four before. The door was in sight and he quickened his pace, pulling Viola by the arm both to encourage her to speed up and to stop her looking back at the men following them. Oh, there you are. As they approached the main exit, the fourth man appeared from around a corner. His hand was ominously in the pocket. Firearms, great.

"Kharri!? ... "

Kharamhan kept walking for the door. Viola stared at him. What was he doing? The newcomer stood in their way and squared up to Kharamhan.

"The boss would like a word."

Without warning and with lightning speed, Viola swung her arm and struck the man in the throat. He gasped for air and stumbled to the floor. Viola and Kharamhan ran. They exited the building, looked left, then right. Where to run?

Tau was strolling up the street when he saw the pair burst through the door, look about and tear up the street away from him. How had they got this far? Dammit! He gave chase but could not gain any ground. Fear is a remarkable stimulus, he thought to himself. They turned onto a back alley. Tau stopped at the junction and drew his gun. Slowly and deliberately, he aimed but had to hurry himself before they disappeared around a further corner and out-of-sight. He narrowed his eyes and pulled the trigger. The shot echoed throughout the empty streets, followed promptly by a cry of agony. Onlookers were now rushing to the scene to establish what the noise was. Too risky to continue the chase now. Quickly he holstered his gun and disappeared.

Matchday 6: High Heels 0–5 Mapletish

Postby Mapletish » Tue Apr 02, 2013 6:30 am

Matchday Six: High Heels 0–5 Mapletish

Recovering from two dull draws, the Lions are back with an imperious form as they brushed aside a lackluster High Heels that post little threat to their advances as they continue their charge to secure a qualification spot ahead in time with 3 more matches to be played till the mid-qualifying break.

Despite going through two dull draws, the Lions managed to take home two points to continue their unbeaten streak and move towards their target. Alero Junio opened the scoring in the ninth minute before Di Natile and Ai Jing widened the gap with two goals in quick succession, as quick as anyone could think of.

Another two strikes in four minutes before the break, Junio adding his second before AI Jing matched him, as they secured all three points in a dominant display that swept the hosts aside, with a 25,000 strong crowd that built on the excitement of the match.

High Heels started the game brightly but it was to Mapletish that the first chance fell, and it was one that really should have been a goal, Mei Kei's pinpoint cross picked out Di Natile, but he failed to hit the target from 10 yards out after seven minutes.

Correcting his mistakes two minutes later, Junio expertly fired the ball into the back of the net from Di Natile's cutback, finishing off a brilliant counterattack that cut past the stunned host side. However the high tempo start to the game died down to a relatively scrappy affair in which neither side could get hold on the attacking momentum as the Mapletish fell back to a more conservative passing game.

That all changed soon enough though as the Lions bagged four more goals before the break in a flurry of action. Firstly, Junio set Ai Jing through on the left with telepathic football between the two and the latter turned Embla Platform and cut into the centre to grab a goal with a simple finish.

Two minutes later the Lions found the net again, but this time it was Di Natile who found the net. A neat cross from the left flank by Junio put Di Natile on the run and a simple tap in goal by the latter assured as he bagged the third goal for the Lions.

Four minutes before the break, Mapletish grabbed their fourth as Gosta's cross was laid off with an exquisite touch from Junio and Ai Jing rifled in an emphatic cross goal finish.

Time was still on the Lions' side as they fired one more goal and Ai Jing was the creator for Junio who bang in his second. Spotting Junio's surging forward run and picking him out, Ai Jing was able to get Junio through on goal as he slot the ball comfortably past the keeper on one on one.

The home fans were all making their exit before the break as the away fans stayed behind to support their time as Mapletish continued to dominate in the second half.

Junio rattled the bar with a quality left foot shot that had the beating of the keeper before Di Natile's header was cleared off the line by Abigail Spike in the 52nd minute. The visitors continued to create opportunity to get Kaisa Cuban on his toes. With the victory, the Lions are two points behind group leaders Estope, while closest rivals Gyatso-kai leads the Lions by a point. Despite all the highlights, the Lions maintained the highest goal difference in the group with 13 goals. Together with Estope, Mapletish remains unbeaten after six matches.

This rp runs along the lines of the April 1st "joke"

World Survives Zombie Apocalypse, but just..

Zomni a colony of West Guiana, both of whom reside in Atlantian Oceania however though for a great many years our country has been trying to hide a terrible secret that if it got out it had the potential to bring the whole world to its knees. However though on that fateful day April first no less, a small breech in our northern wall allowed some of them to escape, we didn't know what had happened for another three hours. By this time it was too late the infection had already started to spread, the people in the rest of the region didn't know how to deal with them, they thought they were fake and got to close. They thought they were real so they tried to capture them or shoot them, sure killing them worked but at what cost for every bullet you use that was like ringing the dinner bell for the millions others that were just waiting to come.

The population of Zomni knew how to handle the out break after all we've been dealing with them for now more than 400 years, our major cities have had massive steel walls that surround them, massive thick steel doors that allow a few cars or trains to pass safely, when those few brave souls dare to leave the safty of the cities. Our population is only four million and 90% of that population lives safe inside our walled cities. The morning of the out break Primer Akerson demanded that every member of the military go out and find the hole that caused them to wander outside of the nation.

By the time the hole was discovered it was too late some 400,000 had been infected and that number was rising quickly. Because Zomni has had them for so long our own population carries the virus inside them, though they are immune to a point however though they carried the virus with them, if they coughed or sneezed the virus would spread. Those who had been infected wouldn't know it has unlike being bitten the side effects would take maybe a day or so to become known to all. The Viltians have their own idea of how it could have happened that could be true too, as yes the virus does give you super human strength if you're willing to accept that you might turn into one.

Vilita wrote:the Zomni players knew they were in a situation where they just had to win to keep themselves in a respectable position.

Primer Akerson along with everyone else in Zomni knew that the risk of the virus being unleashed would come back and haunt the nation. The national teams where ever they went could easily get sick and spread the virus, but they always made sure to play it safe, I guess until now. The World Cup Qualifying Round was just the right place to infect many from the players of the opposing teams to the referees. Just infecting those twenty or so could easily spread to hundreds, then to thousands and so onto billions and that is exactly what had occurred. So you see this sudden outbreak all started with the Zomnian players or the estimated seven zombies that left the nation.

Of course being bitten by one of them you'd turn with in one hour, getting infected by breathing in contaminated air well that in some cases takes up to three days. But this one thing is certain Zomni is and for ever will be ground zero of this infection.

Death Note II:
Chapter II: Alliance

"LEAVE ME ALONE!!!" Sam screamed as she ran away from the hospital-section of the Underground Shelters and through the seemingly-endless labyrinth of small blocks that would as houses.
"Miss Sam, we are under jurisdiction to shoot should you attempt to leave the Shelters!" The now two suited men stood at her, guns raised.
"Well, wouldn't now be a good time to test your notebook?" Justin sighed as he followed, "All this walking is really getting to me..."
"Okay...I'll come along"
"Thank you, Sam" She was escorted to a room that had a pretty nice makeup, despite some of the wall tiles already weakening showing dirt and weeds growing through the cracks. A primitive TV sat on a coffee table, the cable's running untidily across the floor which for the most part was as revealing as the wall.
"So, you followed them? Why not run, it's not as if you weren't guaranteed to survive throughout the night anyway?"
"Justin, your sending me mixed messages here. Would I be safe if I ran"
"Nope, there's only the guarantee you won't die. I once saw a guy who lived for thousands of years cause' of this book, but lost every single limb when he tortured, funny guy he was. All his moaning, kehehehe"
"Gee, thanks for th-" With the door began to open, "G-Go away!"
"Miss Samantha" One of the Men in Black walked into the room with a Cup of Coffee which he handed to Sam, who nearly dropped it with her lost hand, "Please remain calm, we have orders from Swyftlandre to deliver you without harm to the capital. Assuming, that is, we can make it out of the Shelter's alive..."
"These guy's are your new friends then, I gather...I still think you should kill em, just for fun"
"Why do they want me?" She exclaimed, holding up her stump, "Do they know about my injury?"
"I assume not, we've only been able to receive calls, not return them. There is one other matter that troubles us, however"
"Cooome on, just for fun? You know you want to..."
"Please elaborate" Sam said, clutching her drink
"You are in possession of a dangerous weapon, The Death Note!"
Sam stared in confusion, shock and angst,
"I'm sorry what? I don't know what your talking about..."
"Please Agent, tell her?" Sam turned to see that the second Man in Black had walked in, unbeknownst to her.
"October 2013; Bryson Kody, who had been leading a racial extremist group from behind the scenes in Pre-War Swyftlandre as Mr. York, was captured." The agent had began to unload a envelope containing photos, which he drew out as he spoke, "His men were known to commit their murders before committing suicide, upon his death, the Death Note was captured and forensics showed that the Notebook was "not of this world". The notebook was subsequently tested on two prisoners scheduled to die as an alternative means of death, both of which showed positive results following which the notebook was dispatched and hidden in a underground lab located in the Northern Sunrise Islands before vanishing three weeks later."
"Why are you showing me this, I don't know what your on about?"
"That notebook can control a person's actions before death including how they die...a weapon that dangerous belongs to the Swyft-Inferior Alliance"
"NO! I-I will be the one who will present this to the Premier..." Sam said, clutching her stomach to protect the book, "I need to make up for something"
"Miss Sam" The agents raised their guns in unison, "We had orders to deliver you without harm to the capital, truth is, that's probably not the best course of action. During the combat, three points were attacked, Blastings City, Sveinhart and a sneak attack on the capital."
"W-What?" Sam said, still taking care not to let the book go
"The capital was destroyed in Mech Warfare and subsequently led to the Premier announcing allegiance to the Commune Dominium. This was agreed by unanimously between the states of the Swyft-Inferior Alliance-"
"STOP LYING! EVERYONE, EVERYONE I CARED ABOUT DIED TO PROTECT SWYFTLANDRE...THIS IS A DIRTY LIE! I WILL NOT, I WILL NOT BELIEVE YOU" Sam said, in aggression she kicked at the coffee table and subsequently sending the TV and her coffee flying across the room. A loud shatter rank across the room as the TV, upon impacting the wall, knocked out a number of tiles. Justin began chuckling in amusement as the agents stared at the TV in horror.
"MISS SAM! WE ARE THE LAST POCKET OF THE SWYFT-INFERIOR ALLIANCE! We have a new capital and a new leader now and under the new jurisdiction, the Death Note is our greatest offense. We cannot allow you ownership of the Notebook..."

How did this happen, only hours ago we were fighting for survival. Why, why did they give up so easily...
"Who's in charge now, take me to him..." Sam demanded as she pulled out the notebook, "And...I-I will give up the Notebook."
"Very well Miss Sam. Our leader is currently Mayor Alexander Nørgaard."
Alex, it can't be...he thought on the Left Flank. His Mech was blown to smithereens, this, is just getting crazier and craizer Sam though to herself, then responded, "Thank you."

It was a long time before the second agent returned, the first agent had stayed behind ordered to shoot to disable if she attempted to write in the Notebook. When he returned she was led through the maze of the small, two roomed "houses" (if you can call them that) and towards a much larger house, homing five rooms. One of which serving as the Bath for the whole community.

"Samantha Rose...pilot of the x13. I heard you died" She had never seen Alex in person and was greatly shocked, his face was covered in burn marks and scars, his left eye singed shut, a clean slit through the right ear and a bald head which was horribly blackened by the explosion. She had seen battle injuries before, but nothing as horrible as this. She thought she could be prepared for anything, but it took all her best efforts to resist puking.
"Likewise, Alexander. I see you survived the assault, it must have been horrifying."
"Please, Sam. I don't need your pity. Let us talk business shall we, the Death Note-"
"Sir!" Sam interrupted, "I can't let you take it!"
"Allow me to finish, the Death Note will remain in your possession." Alex smiled as reassurance but his charred and cracked lips and mostly empty row of teeth only managed to put her down, "You seem hellbent on keeping that Weapon and it will be vital for our success. I only have one condition, you will serve the Swyft-Inferior Alliance until it's last breath. Promise me that and I will entrust you with that weapon...oh, and call me Alex from now on"
"Yes Sir...uh...Alex and thank you."
"No problem, Miss Rose. I do have another request." Alex, please allow me to see your Shinigami..."
Sam's eyes widened as she heard this, she first turned back to see the two Men in Black, who both gave off the aura of confusion but kept their calm posture. Justin, who had taken to sitting on a chair in the corner laughed,
"kehehehe, go ahead. You bore me somewhat." Sam grimaced, then held out her Death Note to Alex. He touched it with his left hand, as a Priest would as he prayed to God then withdrew his hand.

"Sup, Alex. The names Armonia Justin Beyondormason. But that's Sir Armonia Justin Beyondormason. kehehehehehe"
"You've got an interesting friend there Sam"
"Is that what he is now?" Sam laughed, it was true he was an interesting character but anything other than a untrustable ally was a bit of a stretch.
"Tell me Sam, has he made the deal for the eyes yet?"
"Exactly how much do you know here?"
"I'm sorry, eyes?"
"kehehe! It's simple, half your lifespan and I give you the power to see every single person's name, given you can see their face of course. But ah, with your Death Note, there's complications, you see, I take your current lifespan and every, how long is it in human terms, I believe forty-eight hours one person must die by means of the Death Note. Only one death per forty-eight hours counts and failure to kill in that time will lead to your death. I think that covers everything! kehehe!"
"Sam, Armonia. What is ah... different about your notebook? No, it doesn't matter now, Sam, please understand that it is absolutely tantamount to our success that we, sorry you, take up this offer..."
"I-I" Sam sat in horror, she understood it was effectively the only way to even stand a small chance at reviving the Alliance but at such a hefty cost, granted it still meant she carried the burden of eternal life but at least this way she could end it any time she wanted, "I need time to think about it."
"Sam, we don't have time to spare, before long we're going to be discovered and eliminated. We have only three-thousand able-bodied men and, if it comes to it, two and a half thousand women. We are outnumbered nearly ten times and that's just before the Commune start to occupy Blastings. We need a miracle" Alex rose, despite the burns that covered his body and placed his hand upon Sam's shoulder, "And you will be the Savior of Esportiva!"
"You sure know how to sweet talk, guess your not Mayor for nothing" Alex and Sam both grinned at each other, then she continued, "Very well. Justin, give me the eyes."
"kehehehe! Thought you'd never ask!"

SOCIALIST CALL CAUSES RIOTS
Ugly scenes at World Cup qualifier after 3-1 victory

GAME SIX
Michelangelo WIllans
The Suns were beginning to attract attention. WIth wins over some big teams, and a narrow loss to superstars Taeshan, people in Barunia had begun to take an interest in the football team. Northport was once again full, and amongst the stands flew both national flags. This was what the team had become, thought Michel. An escape, a retreat from the war, and a chance to focus on what united them. Perhaps Ruskin had got it wrong. Perhaps the Suns weren't playing for themselves, but for the Barunian people. Not for a nation forged by a political idea, but the people who were proud to call the Isles their home. "Pride of the Isles." That was how the team song went. Perhaps it was truer than the team had realised.

Lucio David
Traitor. The word had been shouted from the stands as David was introduced. The word had been thrown in his face ever since the war began. David hated it. If only people knew how much he detested this war, knew what he really thought about the actions of his family, they would not be so quick to judge. But no, he could not worry about that now. There was a game on.

Stephen Wiggens
Two-one. That was the score at half time. Zokora had found the net first, but Kaledor had come back to even the score. The Suns continued to apply the pressure, and took the advantage after Sagoro was pushed down in front of the goal. Castolo took the penalty, wrong footing the keeper and punching the ball into the open net.

WIggens hadn't been expecting this. The team were in third place in the group, just outside the qualifying positions. And there was a long way to go yet. The hope of actually qualifying for a World Cup on their first attempt, originally a ludicrous suggestion, now had the possibility of truth to it, however slight. For there was a long road to go still, and they could rise or fall. The biggest threats had come and gone, but there were still some powerful teams to come. And of course, they would play each team twice. As he spurred his team on with a rousing speech for the second half, he couldn't help but wonder just how far they could take this.

Lucio David
The second half of the game was brutal. Two Kaledor players received yellow cards for hard tackles in the midfield, and Lucio brought down their striker with a sliding tackle and was also booked. No-one could get the ball out of the centre long enough to do anything with it, and as the ninety minutes ticked over the score was still two-one. Then, with three minutes of extra time almost completed, Horatio Montoya sent an early cross into the box. As the ball dropped, Castolo threw his foot out to deflect it away from the goalkeeper and in.

The crowd had been on their seats for the last forty-five minutes, and exploded into cheers as the goal went in. The game finished just seconds after the restart, and with the atmosphere in the stadium still charged from the late goal, Lucio was on fire. As the team ran up to the stands to celebrate, he saw a Federation flag being flown. Climbing the railing, he leapt into the crowd. As the television cameras recorded his every move, Lucio took the flag and climbed onto the railing. he stood up, raised the flag above his head and shouted "Socialism forever!!" As he leapt from the railing, a cheer went up from the crowd behind him. Then a bottle was thrown, and a republic flag was lit on fire, and then the riot began…..

Joric Ruskin
Joric flicked through the newspaper, looking for the sports section. When he found it, his eyes went wide. There was a picture of David with the flag raised over his head, and the headline read, "Socialist Call Causes Riots". As Joric began to read, he realised he'd been completely wrong about David all this time. But now it was too late to make up for it…

"Heyyah, Urra. Nice outfit!"

"Thank you.
"So, how did things go at BASIC?"

"The job on offer was one doing hwhat we'd
thought it would be, handling cooperation between the agency itself and any 'special talents' personnel -- such as wizards, or TrueBears, or 'GhostBear' commandoes, -- whose help it needs for missions... and I have signed-on for it."

"And SuperHeroes, too?"

"Ur'rmm, hwhat?"

"Those 'special talents' whom you'll be dealing with? They'd include any
superheroes hwhom BASIC called in, hrright?"

"Oh, Urra, there aren't any superheroes, not hrreally: You've been reading too many of those
humans' 'comic-books'..."

"Actually, I've been reading some
Ursine-written comics lately. Hokay, so they're set in a country called 'Amberrica' that's located off on some other Urrth hrrather than here on our own one, but they're verrry convincing."

"Oh, Urra... You sound as though you're reverting to how you were back when we first met all of those Cups ago."

Forgiving the keeper,
by Brittany Lawton

Anyone who has played team sports knows the feeling. You can be having a good game as an individual, and most of your teammates can be as well; but sometimes a player on the team just doesn’t seem to have anything go there way. It’s frustrating. Here is a key player on your team, just playing well below their level of ability. It makes you wonder why, at times, it has happened. Did they go out all night last night, and are playing hung over? Did they get abducted by zombies overnight? Is there an outbreak of sickness that we don’t know about? Did they eat that kind of bad food that may be served on Sourdough Bread Day? Ha-Ha! No, they just simply did not have it. It happens to all of us. In all lines of works, we have that day that we’re just not with it, and there really is no explainable reason for it.

When one is a goalkeeper, your bad day is magnified all the more. Lauren Kearns had a day that she will want to forget. So let’s forget it. Yes, it can be that easy. One thing I know about Lauren is that she is the best goalkeeper in Cassadaigua, and she is the type of person that can rebound from this effort. The short-term memory sees the four goals on six shots from Catholican Catholica. It can see that our defense did a good job of containing their forwards, but whenever the ball found the foot of Mark Viera, who scored three of their four goals, Lauren seemed to struggle with the shot. What you’ll notice is that no one stood around with their hands on their hips after one of their goals went in. We battled hard, and earned a tie. Down 2-0 early, goals by Brianna Bouchard and Danielle Leonard drew us level at halftime. Though we were starting to get momentum, Viera’s 3rd of the game in the 55th was quickly answered by Ashlee Spillane in the 63rd. Gaining momentum again, we sought to go ahead, but then allowed another goal to the opponents in the 80th. That could have been seen as a brutal dagger, but we did everything we could to get it back, with Brianna getting her second of the match in the 85th. After the game, you saw the character of this team, players not yelling at Lauren Kearns, but instead giving her hugs and her support. Brianna Bouchard, when interviewed by a reporter who wanted to get a comment that would criticize Kearns responded, "I thanked her for her good save in the 29th minute, if she doesn't get that, we don't get a point!" The reporter sighed, trying to troll Bouchard into making a negative comment, only to have Brianna praise and suppoer her keeper. That’s what Cassadagan soccer is about. It’s what was our trademark before we “left” and it’s still what makes us a great team today.

Namibe, Portuguese Colonial Fortress (Occupied), 1894
A large map of Angola was spread over the table, with markers showing the location of soldiers scattered across. The rebels were red, the loyalist troops who had been in Angola prior to the uprising in blue, reinforcements from Europe in green, and the approximate locations of native enclaves in yellow. Standing around the table were Luke Parrish, his subordinate commander, Colonel Gravel, and several representatives of the various tribes and groups within Angola, whom Parrish had gathered to attempt to elicit the support of their people. In the process of their occupation of Angola, the Portuguese Colonial Government had enslaved large amounts of natives, which Parrish had ordered freed following the uprising. Now, he needed their help, as the Crown in Lisbon had recalled the colonial forces from the jungle to reinforce the enclave in Benguela.

Soon after their enslavement, the natives had established an underground network through which they funneled escapees and communicated with their tribes back in the jungle. Parrish needed them to use that network to coordinate attacks on the Portuguese as they withdrew back to Benguela, delaying or even stopping their attempt to reinforce the city and giving Parrish and Blyr time to mount an assault to take the fortress. Historically, Parrish knew that Peter Sien, his counterpart, had successfully convinced the natives to help him, but Sien was a far more talented orator than Parrish would ever be, and he knew this was by no means a certainty. Mustering all his strength and persuasiveness, Parrish raised his head and began to speak, pointing to locations on the map as he did so.

"Gentlemen, I asked you here today to make what is essentially a plea to you. The Portuguese have long had soldiers inland of here, burning the jungle, killing your people, and destroying your homes. You know this as well as I, as you have suffered as much if not more than your kinsmen in being enslaved. However, the Portuguese government has recalled those soldiers to Benguela in order to mass them for a strike on us here in Namibe and Governor Blyr in Luanda, ending our bid for freedom in its infancy. Our best chance to succeed in this endeavor is to take Benguela before the enemy presence their grows too strong, as that will give us control of the entire coast and allow us to negotiate on even terms with Lisbon.

I will be blunt: if Portugal reinforces Benguela with its inland soldiers, we will not be able to take it from them, and the combined numbers of those men and the ones from Europe will smash us flat, and you with it. Your people have gained a reprieve from the violence by virtue of our actions, and we have also granted you a reprieve by freeing you from bondage during our uprising, but if our rebellion fails, your reprieve will be only that. If we fall, you fall with us, as Portugal will quickly re-enslave you and renew its actions in the jungle. Our fates are tied, and I ask you to stand with me, to stand with us, in the darkest hour for both our peoples."

The natives conferred among themselves in their own language for several long seconds. Individual tribes did not communicate with each other, but the conversation was quite animated within the smaller groups. Finally, one of the leaders stepped forward, "The Bantu Tribe stands with you, sir."

Parrish thanked him with a nod, then looked at the others, hoping they too would join. One by one, they all did, Ovimbundu, Mbundu, Bakongo, Lunda-Chokwe, Nganguela, Ovambo, Nyaneka-Nkhumbi, Herero, and at last the Mestiço all pledged their alliance. Parrish let out a breath he hadn't known he was holding, managed that hurdle pretty well...

DE PLACA
Apox and Licentiapacisterra for Cup of Harmony 56 hosts!

WORLD CUP 64 QUALIFIERS
"Badgers take a good start but are rampaged by the Marills, 4-2."

Another match, another win, as Yevoldia was the newest victim of the Marills at the InComm Arena, Matthew City. After two lucky goals by Patrick Vale during the first half, the Marills got up from the shock of having to play against badgers, with four goals to take down the Atlantia Oceanian side 4-2. The Sunrisian goals were scored by, in chronological order, Harley Smith (not without her common shenanigans), Mateus Carvalho, Netto Hikari and Guilherme Abuda.

After the match, the coach and some of the players confirmed that they weren't expecting that they would face badgers in a fixture for the qualifiers. "Technically I did expect that", said Netto Hikari, "I mean, with such a name, how could we not expect a bunch of badgers as opponents?". Christie Travis added little to his point, "I was a little confused and afraid that by tackling them, it could've been considered as acts of violence against animals.". The player most angered was Harri Benepleté, as he, angry, couldn't even look to the camera properly. "Monsieur, how the heck could I even take a goal from something smaller than an Abra... EVEN WORSER, TWO? Words can't describe my anger, monsieur.".

Next match, the Marills will have to try hard and mantain their unbeaten streak as they go face the Flames of Yesopalitha. A win here would be a complete upset. After that, the team face two midtable contestants, Sicoutimont and Basque Socialist States. Only Sicoutimont will have the chance of playing at Northern Sunrise Islands in these three matches as they shall play at the Union Stadium at Mardi.
Tails... Watch out, you're gonna crash, aaaaah!

"Good afternoon. This is Logan Dale with the Fenris Sports Corner. As always we are dedicated to bringing you the best in Jedi8246 sporting news. We'll start by turning back to the World Cup. The Wyvern's last game was flashy to the say in the least. Following the disappointing 4-0 shutout by the Archregimancy, the Wyverns needed a comeback game. And this was certainly one if anything. Playing against the Secundus Kasius team, the Wyverns put up an amazing five goals against only 2 in a stunning victory.

The Wyverns offense has never looked better. The Hem brothers may be aging but they still have that same explosiveness that makes them monsters in the game. They made the Secundus Kasius defense look pitiful. The Hem brothers easily negotiated their way past the defenders and goalie. The Wyverns defense played fairly well though was caught off guard against some of the faster players on the Secundus Kasius team. Overall though, two goals are not too alarming.

With the amazing victory, Jedi8246 is now tied with the Archregimancy and Michael VII teams for goal differential at +8. Pretty amazing considering their offenses. Jedi8246 has in fact scored more goals than anyone in the group with a total of 15. The Wyvern's defense is the only thing preventing them from having the greatest one in the group. With the victory, Jedi8246 retains it's control of second place in the group down only one point in the group from the leader, Michael VIi. However the Archregimancy won it's latest game putting them tied for second with Jedi8246. They also have 13 points. It is only Jedi8246's greater goals scored that gives them the small hold over Archregimancy.

With the season nearly half over, the last few games of this first half of the season will be highly important. Jedi8246 is headed to Timfen in their next game. Timfen was considered one of the more interesting teams in the group at the start of the season. They're ability to possibly bust anyone's season was noted. Timfen hasn't been off to the greatest of starts however. They've won only two games so far and have lost three. They managed a single draw against Michael VII of all teams. Timfen hasn't lost their game changing ability but are not playing as best as they could perhaps. Coach Hemlock says he has noticed a weakness in their latest games and plans to exploit it. In any case, we wish the Wyverns the best of luck moving forward. We'll bring you more sporting news after the break.

Ambubwe swore as he tried to pick up a signal on the groups transistor radio. It was infuriating, and a problem he had much experience with from his years in the Kalumban Army. But there they were able to simple call around the other units until they found one who knew the score, but out here there was nothing until he managed to pick up something through the static.

And now a comes another edition of Sporting PoV, this week detailing the failings of the passing game.

The passing game, the so-called beautiful game. Well that is all rubbish. You take the best teams who play this and then watch them when they don't have the ball. What are they doing? Constant niggling fouls, or put simply continuous cheating. And people sit there and extol the virtues of these clubs and how great it is to watch them. I suppose it is, as long as you don't mind being blind to most of what they do. You always hear how many more passes they had than their opponents, well look a little deeper and you will see whenever their opponent have the ball they are fouled. But will this show up in the statistics? No, and why is that? Because they cheat further. How you may ask? By diving constantly, a man gets breathed on and he is rolling around on the floor like he has been savagely violated in his rear.

It has long been said they would dominate any league in the world, and again this is rubbish. Most of their goals are not due to the wonderful skill, impossibly good balls or whatever the deluded *rse-licking commentators decide to call stupid mistakes by the opposition defences. The majority of goals you see by these teams are by an unmarked tapping into an open goal, and why? Not skill, but poor defence. And they dominate against teams because generally they get soft referees who allow them to get away with the small fouls and reward their cheating with free kicks and cautions to opposition players.

But thankfully every once in a while they get drawn against a proper football team, with a proper referee. And then? They are generally humiliated, occasionally managing to scrape a lucky draw. If they ever played in a northern, or proper league, then they would be mid-table at best. Their niggling fouls would be punished and so would their continuous cheating. In my honest opinion by christmas they would be struggling to field a team with the number of suspensions they would have.

But for as long as football continues to go soft then these teams will be hailed as the best ever, and all simply because gone are the men of the so-called man's game and the referees now simply pander to their needs and refuse to accept the game is a contact sport. Well football is dead if that is what fans want.

In other news Kalumba fell 3-0 at home...

PLACE: Broadcast Booth
OCCASION: 2 announcers calling the final minutes of the TSE v RoE game

"The clock is winding down in this game. Neither the Republic of Egpty or The Sova Empire have scored this game. The Sova Empire is still goalless in the tournament, a shock to most, as their star striker known only as MB was a goal machine on her home team."

"You got that right. Many Sovans were looking out for this game to be the game where MB breaks out, and TSE finally gets a win. No TSE team/player has won anything on the international level in over 1.5 weeks."

"It is the 88th minute. Egpty gets the ball. A shot is SAVED BY DH! A great catch!"

"I think it was an interesting decision to put DH in the goal. She is one of the shortest players, but since she played softball in High School, she has shown her value today. She throws to BP. BP passes to KO. KO to her brother TO. TO up to GS. GS takes it and lobs it to MB. MB has the ball! Can she out-maneuver the defenders and save the game? She swerves, leaps, and FIRES! GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"MB HAS DONE IT! MB HAS FINALLY SCORED! TSE HAS FINALLY SCORED! THE FINAL SCORE IS TSE 1, EGPTY 0! THE FANS ARE GOING WILD!! TSE CAN CELEBRATE TONIGHT!!!!!"

PLACE: Executive Mansion, New Bethlehem, TSE
OCCASION: A few hours after the game, Greg Sova is still asleep

Secretary: "I'm sorry, MB. Greg's still asleep. It's rather odd, he usually doesn't sleep for extended periods of time.
MB: "So he hasn't seen or heard of my goal yet?"
Secy.: "I'd assume not."
MB: "I'd like to be the first to inform him. May I pleeeeeease see him?"
Secy.: "Oh, I guess. I'm not responsible for his actions/words. His room is at the end of the hall."
MB: "Oh thank you soo much!" Oh boy, I'll actually get to see Greg in person!"
(MB knocks on door. After no response, she enters)
MB: "Executive Pastor Greg, are you awake?"
Greg Sova: (incomprehensible murmurs) "GAAAHHHH! Quickly, what is the living population of the Empire right now?"
MB: "Ummm, uhhh, well, I-I-I uhhh, I think it's about 774 million, give or take."
Greg: "Living, healthy?"
MB: "I'd assume s-s-so s-s-ir." (she mutters "MB! Get it together!" to herself)
Greg: "Whew! I just had a terrible nightmare! I dreamt that 750 million Sovans had died and 66 million had been infected with a zombie virus. There were no survivors! Also, I dreamt that the World Cup team lost again. I'm terribly sorry, I'm rambling. Let me get up and serve you a hot beverage. Coffee, Tea, or Hot Chocolate?"
MB: (stands there a few seconds, not exactly expecting that series of events to happen in that order) "I'll pass. Thank you for offering, sir."
Greg: "Oh, no problem. That's just my upbringing combined with The Big Bang Theory. So, what brings an attractive lady such as yourself to the Executive Mansion today?"
MB: (blushes, says "wow!" to herself) "Thank you, sir. I have some footage of the last World Cup game that I believe would serve your best interests if you saw it."
Greg: "Sure, my laptop is over there, you can set it up."

MB walked over to the laptop, plugged in the flash drive, and loaded the footage. She was still star-struck from even meeting Greg, much less getting called "attractive" by him. Greg had retreated to the restroom, where he changed into a T-shirt and Jeans. It seemed appropriate. The footage popped up, and for a while, the score stood at 0-0. That was until MB got the ball. Greg's heart raced, as he leaned in closer to the screen. The ball was kicked right into the back of the net, and along with the crowd in the footage, Greg jumped for joy too. As the score read "Final: TSE 1-0 RoE", Greg cheered, gave MB a great big "bear hug", and then backed up, suddenly remembering what his mother had taught him about being professional around women.

Greg: "I'm sorry...I should have treated that more professionally. Good job. I am proud of your efforts. Send my regards to the coach." He stared at his shoes, too embarrassed at himself to even look up.
MB: "Thank you, I will. You have a good day, sir"
Greg: "You too, ma'am"

As MB exited, Greg moaned to himself. "Maybe that's why I've never had a girlfriend" he muttered, as he made the bed and got ready for what he assumed would have been a bad day. MB walked down the hallway and whispered to herself "Maybe he actually likes me!"

OOC to the hosts: I want my style mod changed to 0, if possible. Thanks in advance.
OOC to the community: I just realized that I'm forever alone in RL and NS. The main difference is that someone likes me in NS, while I don't think that's true IRL.

It had been a long day for Hilary. No, it'd been a long couple of weeks. Personally, it had been the anniversary of the passing of Julian Masterson, her onetime boyfriend and true love who'd succumbed to an accident. Professionally, the Flames were not doing well - they had only obtained 13 points in qualifying thus far, and suffered their first loss in qualifying in two cycles at the hands of the Princesses of Jeruselem. They were definitely on a downhill slide, and it seemed as if things would only get worse. After all, Northern Sunrise Islands was due at The Sacred Heart next, and they would definitely looking for an upset of the Flames to propel them forward.

To make matters worse, there had been a letter that she'd received that morning:
Miss Vander Rox,

You won't know who I am, but who I am does not matter to you. What you need to realize is that your team and you are in grave danger. I am not bluffing. Though the Zombie Apocalypse has been put down individually by Yesopalitha and Mystria as a region, there are still forces that began to move during the chaos. I am one that has been watching over you for a number of months, and the number of suspicious behavior around the welfare of your team has become increasingly alarming.

I suggest you take additional precaution when traveling. Trust no one but your closest friends and family. If you do notice a shadow, don't worry. A shadow that wants to be seen will be me, not them.

Be careful.

May Zaiden watch over you.

She had no idea what she should do about the ominous words. Were they truly in danger?

Then, her phone rang. Not her room phone, but her personal phone.

She picked it up, and said, "Who is it?"

"Ah, Hilary, m'dear. How have you been doing?" came the voice of Sir James Handel, one time coach, mentor, and dear friend. "I just wanted to check up on ya."

"Sir James!" she exulted. "How have you been in Astograth? You guys are doing all right there, right?" she asked.

"Yes, yes. The lads have taken to me well, and hopefully we will be able to get even better. But I'm more worried about you. I know that the previous days have been harsh on you due to the passing of Julian and the negative press about the team. Do you remember what I told you once, though?" he asked.

"We've had many conversations that I remember," she replied, "Which do you mean?"

"Perseverentia Saeculorum. Persevere, dear Hilary. Never falter, never quit. All will work out at the end. That is life. Things get better, things get worse, things come and things go. Just don't quit," he said.

"Thank you," she replied.

They talked more for a while, and she felt so much better afterward. After all, the future may be uncertain, but it would come whether she wanted to or not...

World Cup Blog|AAAAAAARRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!

Help me all the Zombies are coming after me. I need all your help. I am just outside the Paradisian North Park surrounded by loads of Zombies. I need a help. I don't want to be killed or be infected. I hate those Archaeologists that start all this. I want to kill them right now. On the other note there might be a problem about the match. With the Zombie Infection the match may be cancelled or may taken over. We got every single Military Officer in the City to protect the Game from turning to the Zombies.

In our last match, which was against Khytenna Away. So you may have said it will end in a draw but it wasn't. A first goal by Saneer Jaklim came in the 13th with a superb through-ball from Raiyaan Malik. Then came a equalizer by Khytenna with Firestone. This wasn't good until a goal in the 44th minute by Sameer Jaklim again after Raiyaan Malik was taken off the Pitch injured. The Manager took his chances of of 4-5-1 formation.

There was not too much in the Second Half no goals. No even close to a goal. That was a waste of 45 minutes for all the fans as they left one by one out of the stadium.
