The Inevitable Syndicate 3-2 Silar
Syndicate: Pratt 20' 61' , Sinclair 39' / Silar: Unknown 16' 35'
Another close game for the Syndicate today, against an opponent of games past. Silar, who were present in our group during the Baptism of Fire, came back to the Flynn Arena to test whether we had improved from the last time we played against them, when we lost 1-0. Well, today we took that goal back, winning 3-2. The goals were mainly scored by Pratt, who seems to have found his feet again after the Western Cuba game, and the other goal was scored in a suprise run by Ethan Sinclair in the 39th minute. It seemed that his side of the field was one of the main weak points of the Silarian defence, allowing him to dodge past the back defenders and take a clean shot at an almost empty goal, as for some reason the goalkeeper had gone walkabout. However, it wasn't all fun and games for us, as Silar did manage to knock back two goals, including the first one of the match. Oddly, no goals were scored during the second half, as it seems that both teams really locked down their defences. If the Syndicate can continue to play at this high level, then we might have better luck in the group overall. Next game is against Nethertopia.

The next morning, Bones, Jones and Browne went down to the Great Ahlenfi Library, a fantastic building that contained hundreds of thousands of books, covering the walls and everywhere in-between. None of which were on the Datalink. She theorised that it was all a tourist ploy, to make people seeking the knowledge actually come to Ahlenfi and buy goodness-knows-how-many things from street merchants and the like. The worst bit? It had worked, as she noticed that earlier on in the morning, Administrator Browne had bought three new hats, a bracelet, a necklace, some flip-flops, and a lucky charm. The charm, he figured, couldn't do any harm. After all, he was off to talk with an Emir he hated, and eat some terrible food.
Bones entered the library, and immediately set out finding dusty tomes to scan for clues. This allowed the more... Politically inclined members of the party to have a chat.
“So, sir, how are you doing?” said Stephen Jones, undoing the top button on his shirt due to the heat.
“I'm fine, Jones. It's really warm, and I should be back home, but I'm fine. The sooner we find this machine, should it be real, the better. You know, I got a tweet the other day from someone who blamed me for this crisis!”
Bones walked over with a book, butted in. “Well, you know what the laypeople are like. That's what you get when you're Administrator; After all, you are a figurehead for the country. People are bound to blame you for things!”
“But it isn't fair, is it? Anyway, we should probably be helping.” Andrew grabbed a nearby book.It was rather heavy, so he assumed that would be a good thing to look through, even if he wasn't really paying attention.
Dr. Bones stared over to the politicians, and shot them all a stern look.
“Is that the sort of thing you should really be reading?”
Stephen looked at the cover of the book. 50 Sands in Grains, the cover read. Andrew very quickly shut the book and placed it back on the shelf.
And in the next few hours, in the swelteringly hot, dusty library, the secrets of Khabu and the areas around it were unlocked, until Dr. Bones stumbled upon something that could really come in handy...
