(TKT) Tikariot City FC P1–1 Sporting Iturributa (ASG)	(1–1 aet) (4–3 pen.)

Future bids for host stadia will be taken into consideration, though the default in case of no bids will always be the stadium of Stade de Torgos in Torgos. A final reminder also that all Rushmori nations only (including any and all puppets) will be able to submit their league champions only (or top ranked team in the event of multi-associational leagues of more than one Rushmori nation) for entry into the next CdC; this includes puppet leagues that don't submit to IFCF. The submission period opened when the IFCF closed entries to the last IFCF tournaments, and will close again when the IFCF closes entries to the next IFCF tournaments. No invitations will be sent. You must indicate at the bottom of your league summary that you wish your league champion to take part, and I take no responsibility for missing it if you've only shown it in your table.

Keep your entries coming in for the next edition!

Final
@ Istria Olympic Stadium (80,000), Istria, Banija

(QUE) Kingston FC 1–1 1. FC Vaihingen (STL)	(3–1 aet)

For a second straight edition, it is the Quebec outfit Kingston FC who made it to the Final through the series of challengers, but there is no traditional heavyweight waiting for them in Istria, but relatively unknown 1. FC Vaihingen. While the underdog showed merit in getting the tie into an extra time frame, last season's holders managed to retain their crown after the extra half hour. Is this the making of a new Arrosia dynasty?

Entries into the next Hui Lā are now open and close when the IFCF deadline is posted. Entries must be the champions of an association and second entries must be the champions of the association's cup, or the highest placed club from the association in a multi-association league. If there is no cup or the league champion does the double, then the second entry should be allocated to second place in the league. All primary associations in Arrosia are entitled to two entries, besides Quebec, who shall be granted a third entry if Kingston FC does not qualify through league or cup performance.

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

Taxhavn (TAX) final site bids
FFI Confederations Trophy: Städeli Arena, Städeli (capacity 52,775)

Home of the two-time League of Victors champions FC Städeli, this old arena sat on the docks close by Städeli harbour has had a number of renovations over the years and is quite an impressive sight sitting right by the water. Plans to update and expand it even further have been scuttled by its difficult position and there is talk of demolishing it in favour of wholly new arena construction in the next few years. Right now, the arena is the fourth largest on the island, a famous old palace of football, with a lively atmosphere and thunderous acoustics.

Access is straightforward with good public transport from the international airports in Maartenstadt (fifty minutes by express rail to Städeli Centraal) or St. Bernadine (train, tram, bus or metro options, 15-30 minutes). Romantics can take the scenic route using the Five Ports Ferry from St. Bernadine to Städeli harbours, dropping passengers off almost right outside the stadium. Watch out for choppy weather.

Season 49 (roughly contemporaneous with World Cup 98 qualifiers, prior to the Cup of Harmony) leadership changes. Um, spoilers.

Matchday One

Actually there weren't any draws, every game finished with a win. But the team that won by the most was FTC United, on the road in Bassabook. Haley Ogden-Viravan came forward for a rare goal, assisted by Sullivan Brecht. Dnu Taravingian added a second in stoppage time of the first half. The Oxen thought they had another chance early in the second half, when Gretchen Lavenza went down hard at a Jenelle McOwen tackle. The referee decided that Lavenza was...not diving per se so much as guilty of an overactive imagination, but she was subbed off as a precaution anyway. In the event, they hardly needed her, as Rung Dilok-Tidin made it 3-0.

Matchday Three

What's that saying about two-goal leads being dangerous? It's probably nonsense and/or confirmation bias, but with a large enough sample size, lots of catchy examples can be found to illustrate the point.

To wit: Trebuchet Cham hosted FTC United, and the hosts got off to a hot start; Christopher Bori-Samson scored just three minutes in, and twelve minutes after that, Kendall Castillo made it 2-0. But the Oxen dug in, with a Beppo Hegesa header putting them on the board, and several missed chances from Dilok-Tidin. The momentum stayed with them after the restart, and Taravingian scored the equalizer. Gabriel Istibar gave them the go-ahead goal, and in minute 71, Carly Wegemar made it 4-2. An impressive comeback. And, unfortunately for the Oxen, another impressively dangerous lead.

Lavenza clumsily tripped up Amir Nussbaum-Taft in minute 86, and he scored the penalty. Time was added on, and in the fifth of seven additional minutes, John McDonald pushed forward for the equalizer for Cham. Sloppy play on both sides, and the Oxen will probably be kicking themselves for not staying perfect, but what do you do.

Ephesian kind of ran away with things last season, so billing Sporting Esper's visit to Zwischen as a rematch of the title race is kind of overhyping it. Nevertheless, with Gregor Courtenay having departed Ephesian to do, um, Stuff with the national team, his protege Mallory Clighbar picked up right where he left off, edging out the Robins. Most of the goalscoring excitement transpired in the first half, with the indefatigable Stephen Marcus (someday he'll fatig and we'll get to stop using that cliche, but probably not this season) recording a brace, and James McMasters and Ned Plumedy scoring for Sporting Esper.

Most of the defensive excitement transpired in the second half, where by "defensive excitement" is meant "Blanche Coogan-Bucknell making saves and Ephesian being mad about it." Brunnhilde Lavrans finally broke through in minute 70. The Hope City Herald will tell you that center-back Fred Duane-Perez was at fault; the Zwischen New Courier will tell you that this is cope because even they are scared to admit Coogan-Bucknell is just mediocre; the truth is probably some of both. Anyway, Ephesian have three points from three (by our own idiosyncratic scoring standards), and an extra goal of differential thanks to their two-goal win against Eintracht Trink last week.

Matchday Five

Okay, look. We gotta come up with a better name for the Quewi-Keppal District-Egalia-Maenems region than the "bitter center." Everyone is bitter here! No one likes nationalism! Yeah they're sort of in the geographic middle of the country but...so are Frischberg and Kindtown and nobody lumps them in with that corridor. Open to suggestions.

The point is, Keppal Cosmos and Canbix Muses are each other's "local rivals," and this week, they are both relevant. We'll start...not there geographically, but rather back in Zwischen, where Ephesian hosted Keppal. This was billed as a clash between the trusty and long-tenured Marcus, on the one foot, and on the other Awidlyon Reed, Keppal's wunderkind who maybe never quite reached her potential. So of course, they were both nonentities. Lavrans and Kenneth Umric scored the goals for the hosts, but Keppal cobbled together an impressive montage of long-distance goals from midfielders Sierra Brighton, Usha Pitry, and Lillian Dacey-Sibley. (The "just bloop it over the defenders' heads and hope it rolls all the way into the goal before they can backtrack" strategy doesn't work as often as you'd expect against Ephesian, but when it does, it's really funny.)

This left Canbix in position to take advantage of a win against the Twineur Bugs. Which was perhaps more difficult than it could have been; Stanislaus Napje scored the opener for hosts Twineur, and they dominated possession for most of the first half. After the half, however, Katja Tabros equalized for Canbix against the run of play. Virginia Aksnes gave them the lead, then hit the woodwork what felt like a dozen more times (it was not) in the remaining twenty minutes, as if to prove that Canbix could have run up the score if they really wanted to. Regardless of intent, Canbix held on for the win, and now lead the league with four points from five matches.

Matchday Ten

Canbix fall to a Namiri Forest side who...well, Namiri Forest are never really great at outscoring anyone, that's kind of their thing. They haven't been terrible so far, but they haven't been multiverse-beaters, either. But Mahua Isembard's goal in minute 64 was all they'd need against the Muses.

As for Ephesian, they capitalized in traditionally ebullient style, with a Lavrans hat-trick in the first forty-five minutes against Cham (maybe she's angry Courtenay won't let her get time with the national team during qualifiers, who knows). The second half was just as frenetic; Bori-Samson got the hosts on the board, but then Ernst Guthnick-Wolf got himself sent off for behavior that was, if not obviously leading to an unfair advantage in a football match, probably not safe for work either. Ephesian thrived with the player advantage, with Chloe Flen-Willis and Harold Carre adding on goals, only for Phil Cormick to pull another back for the hosts. Nevertheless, Ephesian have a goal difference of +12, vis-a-vis Canbix' +6.

Matchday Eleven

Canbix travel to Ueberg to face the Rovers, who look a fair sight worse than last season. Eileen Gainsborough is plenty capable of leading by example, but whether due to pie consumption or lethargy, hasn't racked up the kilometers on the step tracker. Nicholas Palmetto is reliable and does his own thing, but if his teammates aren't open for a pass, he doesn't show much initiative in trying to double back and sync up with them. Today, Trinity Bern-Gull carved through their midfield, scoring the only goal for the visiting Muses.

Ephesian hosted Spenson, and the first half was indeed a clash between two affable if aging forward talents; Marcus' goal in minute 13 was matched by one from Alyssa Velt-Nansen. The second half gave the younger generations time to shine, with Haydon Lumigear briefly putting the Suburbians ahead. Wendy Misuraca scored in added time for the hosts, assisted by Brian Spand-Maunk, but Ephesian slip to second.

Matchday Sixteen

Canbix manage to blow the lead to a Slogda side who are...not good, although the way they've managed to salvage draws from otherwise dreary positions under time pressure sure is...something. Anyway, Donovan Quarry had given the host Muses the lead in the twelfth minute, and Alibek Sheinman equalized in the eightieth. You may be wondering at this point how Emily Kuiper, Canbix' former striker-turned-manager, responds to this kind of disappointment, and the answer is...she mostly is happy to let the newspaper people talk at her and soak up their frustration, rather than letting her players bear the brunt of it. Which is admirable. But, remember, Canbix were ninth last season! People didn't really expect them to be leading at the halfway point. This could just be regression to the mean. Of course, the diehard fans will default to assuming that their big wins are most reflective of their true potential and everything else is just noise, but...every team does that.

The point is, that left room for not one but two teams to jostle with them on goal difference. One was Ephesian, who needed to come from behind against a Namiri Independent side that's looked intriguing on occasion, but so far hasn't really solidified into being contenders, per se. Umric had given visiting Ephesian the lead in the eighth minute, but Independent regained the lead via Dipannita Bose and Narayan Thorlakson. After halftime, Pammal Mookaiah's chip shot made it 3-1, and Independent were, if not title favorites, at least...actually things are so close on goal differential they probably would have been at least tied with the Muses et al if they'd held on, but they didn't, so. Carre began the comeback at the hour mark, assisted by Lorraine Rouwen-Horn. Lavrans equalized in minute 85, and Marcus himself got the contrived and over-dramatic winner in minute 90+2.

It was all very exciting and cliche, but fortunately, it didn't steal all the headlines, because there's someone whose goal differential is even better than Ephesian's, and those someones are...Canbix' rivals from the other side of InterCity Express 10, Keppal Cosmos. (Okay it doesn't exactly roll off the tongue, but look, we're getting there.) We skipped over it last week, but they ran wild against Bassabook, Reed running up the score pretty much single-footedly; with the opening provided by Slogda, they took full advantage to seek the headlines, Brighton's goal in minute 30 defeating Twineur and putting Keppal on top.

Matchday Nineteen

Where to start, where to start. Perhaps in Kedzie (out east, kind of between Arlington and Trink, but you knew that), where the Rovers briefly flirted with relevance again, if only indirectly so; Roger Poughkeepsie's goal in minute 49 was enough to defeat the Cosmos, knocking them off the top. Meanwhile, in Namiri, it was Independent who were at home against Canbix, and continue to be more "thereabouts" than "there." Certainly, defender Sohini Dravid was nowhere near "there" when Aksnes sprinted through the penalty area and scored a tap-in for the Muses.

As for Namiri Forest, they were up in Zwischen for the clash of the stylistic extremes. Forest took points off Ephesian both times they met last season, which is saying something because Ephesian were very dominant, and they won the first leg this season. Through the first half, it was a fairly even match; a long stretch of back-and-forth passing among Forest's defenders set up a goal for Ejaz Vichare-Soni, and a similarly uninterrupted (even if stylistically very different) possession by Ephesian's midfield led to a goal from Flen-Willis.

But after the break, Ephesian came out re-energized, and two quick goals from Umric and Spand-Maunk gave them a commanding lead. Arissa Devi-Kami surprised everyone, including herself, by recording a goal for Forest in minute 73, but Ephesian cheekily took back the momentum with a Lavrans goal two minutes later. Anyway, they're on top again, on GD ahead of Canbix, and...will host Keppal next week. So that'll be fun.

Matchday Twenty

Canbix had the allegedly easy job, hosting fourteenth-place Twineur and hoping to pick up a full point while, preferably, Ephesian and Keppal fought to a messy draw that benefited no one. So, of course, they dominated possession, and then Aksnes contrived to miss a bunch of easy sitters while Kuiper sat on the bench and stewed because she probably could have scored some of those, even at her age. Finally, defender Camille Sibelius jogged forward and gently headed in a Bern-Gull pass, and the Muses got their point.

As for the match on the other side of the...you know, if we still used highways, we could probably come up with a catchier name for this corridor, but then we would have to have cars, so hahaha no. At the Ayathen Arena. That one really couldn't have gone better for Canbix if Kuiper had drawn up the script herself. Which she didn't. Obviously. That'd be weird. I mean, what kind of a league do you think we're running here? That's a rhetorical question, the kind that isn't addressed to anyone really, it just...is.

Uh. Ephesian appeared to take the lead on fourteen minutes, but Marcus was ruled offsides. Whatever, he's a nice guy, he'll handle it. Keppal appeared to take the lead two minutes later, and while there are lots of subtle offsides traps to worry about with Ephesian, this was just an ordinary case of "video review showed it wasn't in, actually," for Reed. So now both sides are a little frustrated and chippy. Misuraca actually does score in the 40th minute, and visiting Ephesian go into halftime up 1-0.

The start of the second half was delayed because there are all these little things that go wrong with the Ayathen Arena (you might think they would just...move...but that's not going to happen, less for budgetary reasons and more for thematic inertia), anyway there was probably some environmental hazard in the referees' room and they got annoyed about it too. When things finally got back underway, Keppal were fast-paced but sloppy, with lots of long passes intercepted by Spand-Maunk and the rest of the Ephesian midfield. Pitry finally intercepted a Dacey-Sibley throw-in and converted it for the equalizer.

Ephesian took the lead in minute 72, and this also required a long video review, in this case to confirm that Marcus had scored directly and that Lavrans hadn't deflected it in at the last minute. Marcus, we've said, is very chill and would probably have been just fine with Lavrans counting it towards the statistics that we don't actually keep, so as to prevent some statistical anomaly godmod problems. But Lavrans is resentful of Marcus' seniority with the national team, so we have this one-sided grudge where she's stewing at him and he's just like "...we're teammates! we're friends! right?" Anyway, that happened.

And then in minute 87, Gena Suma-Journ committed a senselessly violent foul on Reed, they both had to leave the game, and Audrey Schoen-Vogel took one of the very easy kind of penalties to equalize for Keppal.

Matchday Twenty-Six

This is a reverse of the MD11 fixtures, so Canbix are at home against the Rovers, and Ephesian travel to Spenson. (Keppal were at home against Namiri Forest, and they won thanks to a Schoen-Vogel header, but they've fallen off the pace since last we met.)

The Rovers' season still hasn't been great, but they looked much more cohesive today, with Frank Olmsted coordinating Gainsborough and Lavenza's defensive excursions at the back; even when they dared some risky backpasses, it never backfired, and they held Canbix to the type of scoreless draw that's, while not super memorable, at least crisp and taut and more fun than some of the scoreless draws out there.

Ephesian eschewed the ways of the scoreless draw, as is their wont, getting off to a hot start via Umric in the third minute. Marcus wasn't much of a presence overall; this is probably less about sparing Lavrans' ego and more about the fact that he finally is getting old enough for that bald spot, and/or exhausted from national team duty. In any event, the midfield was more than capable of securing possession, culminating with a Flen-Willis goal in minute 36. Ephesian are well ahead of Canbix on goal differential, but they'll face each other in two weeks, so there's that.

Also, we don't go here, but:

(Bori-Samson 22 and 38 and 64, Castillo 25 and 61, Sandy Raskin 30, Nussbaum-Taft 50; Benjamin Jeves-Moon 29, Russell Stedman 73 and 75, Annika Fletcher-Thrim 90+1)

Trebuchet Cham seven, Arlington City four.

Matchday Twenty-Eight

Last week, the Rovers held Ephesian to an incongruous scoreless draw, while Canbix took a half-point from their match against the...against Keppal, so both contenders remained tied heading into the match at Groth Park.

Carre opened the scoring for visiting Ephesian on fourteen minutes, assisted by Flen-Willis. Logan Spafford tied things up for Canbix twelve minutes later.

Aksnes scored to take the lead in minute 51. Now Canbix were leading the overall race. Considering that they are defensive-minded but Ephesian are very much not, you might expect them to sit back and park the train at this point. But all of a sudden, Canbix emerged looking more like the Muses of old, the ones who hate time-wasting. Again, they were ninth last season, they weren't really expected to be the ones to thwart Ephesian! (Sporting Esper were runners-up last season, and Keppal were the most recent team not named Ephesian to win the title.) So they were very much in control and pushing for more goals. Which they got, via Tabros in minute 67. Rouwen-Horn pulled one back for Ephesian in minute 84 against the run of play, but it feels like momentum has shifted. Maybe. Two weeks left.

Matchday Thirty

Last week, Canbix were defeated by a goal from Gabriel Istibar and the Oxen; Ephesian managed to gain ground, but they were only able to draw against an Arlington team who are...part of an exciting multi-way tie at the bottom of the table. So Canbix' match against Arlington, today, was not a sure thing; however, Quarry's goal defeated them, while Ephesian were somewhat anticlimactically defeated by a brace from Elias Cooper-Klim of 102d.

And so it is that the Canbix Muses win season 49. Credit is due, primarily, to Sibelius and her fellow defenders; perhaps Aksnes is also worthy of a shout-out as well, given how goalscoring-focused these summaries tend to be. In normal times, we would just move on, and not worry too much about who's the manager of a team like this and what kind of a playing career they used to have.

But these are not normal times, and so it is that we look with awe and wonder to Emily Kuiper, not only for having a cool name, not only for being a moderately decent striker when her club was not particularly distinguished nor her country particularly attacking-minded, but for being the one to overcome Ephesian and restore a little bit of normalcy to the zeitgeist. And on that limited sample size, throw her into the deep end with the Cup of Harmony. Good luck!

The crown jewel of Vanorian stadiums, she is as modern as she is majestic and has hosted numerous Finals of various international and club competitions in addition to being the home of Raynor City United, the most successful club in the nation. Often renovated to keep up with modern amenities and the comforts of more modern stadiums across the sport, her slightly smaller size helps the feel of an immense atmosphere that is quite raucous for the home team.

As per this Preview & Review

Pasarga (PAS) Qualifiers:
Puppet of Valanora

IFCF Champions League: Stein-los Turkish, CA Paulinthal, Hellinic Rouge
IFCF Challengers Cup: Galatica, Avidë, Santos Luega
IFCF Liga B Champions Trophy: Duke of the North, Riis, Tyrysier
CdC: Stein-los Turkish
IFCF Cup Winners' Cup: Hellinic Rouge
Rising Stars Cup: Club Stein-los

Pasarga (PAS) final site bids
Challengers Cup: Stade de Torgos, Torgos (capacity 90,000)
The largest and most impressive stadium in Pasarga, it is the home of the national team as well as the club side Galatica. Built decades ago so that the national team could have a state of the art stadium to call their own, the Stade de Torgos is located deep in the heart of the capital city and though she is no longer state of the art she is still a magnificent stadium. Despite her enormous size, the atmosphere is quite loud during matches and there is hardly a poor seat in the stadium thanks to impressive feats of architecture. She is a symbol of Pasargan resilience and determination, to stand the test of time and still be as good as when the foundations where first laid for her.

Cup Winners' Cup: San Daros, Paulinthal (capacity 64,000)
Home to CA Paulinthal, the most successful club in Pasarga, San Daros is a legendary stadium and among the older stadiums in the dual islands. It is located not far off the coast in the port city, which is a melting pot of a variety of cultures and backgrounds, with different languages heard all around the city and food found in it, particularly around the football stadiums like San Daros. The away locker room was built to be on the small size as a way to try to unnerve opposition players and the architecture of the stadium helps magnify the sound of the crowd, giving the feeling that there is more fans in the stadium that there actually is.
