Are you planning to dominate this competition, but what to know exactly how to go about it?

First: Create a roster. This will get you a roster bonus. Not all rosters get the same bonus, though, as some are made to be real fancy and look like a ton of time and effort was spent in preparing it. They will get the higher roster bonus. But, if all you want to do is list a bunch of names, you will still get something. The format of 15 groups of 5 will make RP'ing especially important and possibly friendly for an unranked team to make the playoffs.

Then: Roleplay, roleplay, roleplay. You can have success here as a first time nation, but you have to work for it, too.

Within the roster, many people also provide descriptive information about their home stadiums. Half of your qualifying games will be played within your country, and this a great chance to showcase your venues to the world.

IMPORTANT: When creating a roster, you should include the following information and the specific corresponding answer for your nation. This is important, because the person who roleplays the game first is the one who determines how a score is arrived at (assuming they have roleplayed a game summary). The answers to these questions are whether or not they are able to do the following things concerning your nation.

RP Permissions:
Choose my run-scorers: Yes/No
Choose my lineup: Yes/No
Follow my Pitching Rotation: Yes/No
Godmod scoring events: Yes/No
RP injuries to my players: Yes/No
Godmod injuries to my players: Yes/No
Eject my players: Yes/No
DH used at home: Yes/No
Godmod other events: Yes/No
Other Info:

What they mean:
Choose my run-scorers: Can the opponent decide who scored for your team. Note that this includes ONLY how you’re individual players may have played, on an individual level. If you’re opponent says their starting pitcher struck out 15 of your hitters in their 1-0 win, then that is fine regardless of your answer, because it is a direct individual fact about the performances of their pitcher. If you answered no here, and they then said a particular batter struck out four times, then and only then do they violate this permission. Moral of the story, saying no here gives you control over how your players play, only. Not how the opponent’s players play. Most users answer yes to this.

Choose my lineup: Allows the opponent to determine any old lineup for your team. Most teams will include a lineup, and set this permission as no, and to follow their lineup. However, if you don’t really care, feel free to say yes.

Follow my Pitching Rotation: Same general idea as Choose my lineup, but with the rotation. Tip: Always check your opponent’s RP for their prior game to see if they declared a starting pitcher for your game, as well.

Godmod Scoring Events: This allows your opponent to be very specific, in complete detail, about your runs scored.

RP Injuries to your players: Answer accordingly. Some nations will include a caveat here that they are allowed, but only to say a play was hurt and nothing else, so that they can be the one to determine what happened.

Godmod Injuries: Taking the above to the next level. Can they do whatever they want in regards to injuries. Answer accordingly.

DH Used at home: Whether or not we use the DH is determined by the home team. (Much like it is in Major League Baseball). Here you are saying whether or not the DH is used when you are home.

Eject My Players: Can they eject your players? Some nations will include a caveat here as well that “for every one you eject your team, you can eject one/two/or more on mine.”

Godmod Other Events: We get silly on NS Sports. You have to have fun once in a while, after all. What this is asking if is the opponent can RP something completely crazy and unrealistic about the game, such as “the catcher put a spell on the basestealer as they were running, to make them fall.” or, “The pitched ball became invisible, so the batter had no hope.”, or even “Space aliens invaded, and decided they liked our flag better, so they helped our team with their significantly advanced technology”. If this kind of fun is for you, then put yes. If not, then put no. If you’re open to it, but don’t want to be completely caught off-guard, a message to say “telegram me your idea first” is common.

Other Info: Is there other information about your team you want us to know about? This is usually about a team’s playing style. A nation with an aggressive playing style may say they always look to take the extra base, and want to steal a lot of bases. A nation that wants to have their team to be explosive may want to say they score most runs via the long ball. Or, it could be to say something about your pitchers, like to never have a starter go more then 5 innings.

Play Ball!

Group/Playoff Structure: 15 Groups of 5. Top two teams per group qualify for playoffs (Group winners will be seeded 1-15 regardless of actual record. After that, teams are seeded in accordance to record. Wild cards are not automatically 31st and 32nd and are seeded with the second place teams), PLUS the next best two nations. Straight "bracket" style with no re-seeding.

Round of 32: Best-of-three
Round of 16: Best-of-five
Quarterfinals: Best-of-five
Semifinals: Best-of-five
3rd place series: Best-of-five
CHAMPIONSHIP: Best-of-seven

Presenting the Official Group Draw for WBC 43

Welcome to the 43rd edition of the World Baseball Classic. There will be 75 nations participating in the competition, and we have split you all into 15 groups of 5. Each group will have two teams qualify for the playoffs, and then the next best two teams will receive wild cards as a total of 32 nations advance to the next round.

To conduct the group draw, we have split the nations into 5 pots, which are seeded in accordance to the nations rank. Pots 1, 2, and a little more then half of pot 3 contain nations with a rank heading into the Classic. The unranked teams were then sorted alphabetically, with a few making it into pot 3, and the majority in pots 4 and 5. The pot breakdown is as follows:

Pot 1: Super-Llamaland (1), Scootalove City (2), Cassadaigua (3), Newmanistan (4), Darmen (5), Schiltzberg (6), West Phoenicia (7), Nova Anglicana (8), Ethane (9), Maklohi Vai (10), South Covello (11), Lycrabon (12), Equestrian States (14), Abanhfleft (15), and United States of Devonta (16)

WORLD BASEBALL CLASSIC 43
TRAVEL GUIDE

Are you coming to Cassadaigua to enjoy the World Baseball Classic? Great! Here’s what you will need to know.

1) Where is Cassadaigua? How do I get there?

Cassadaigua is located in the region of Rushmore, and more specifically south-central Rushmore.

The best recommendation to get here is to fly in, unless you are from nearby in Rushmore, you may just want to drive or take a train. All Cassadagan cities have a major airport, and the nation has an advanced rail system as well. If you insisted on traveling by sea, there are some easily attainable port cities to make it very convenient, but we suggest flying in.

2) Will I be safe? What is crime like?

Cassadaigua is no more or no less safe then any other nation. Some consider our crime rates to be a little high, but law enforcement and a general security presence will be very apparent and will protect you. Things still get seedy in the Grande Mountain area from time to time, but our security will try their best to keep the men's rights protests to a minimum.

3) Tell me more about your female-dominated society. Are male tourists safe?

Cassadaigua’s society is different then what is seen throughout most of the world. In our nation, the female is the dominant gender and is superior to the male. This should not be surprising if you have followed our own national sport teams in even the slightest of ways. There are some groups who feel that men are greatly oppressed in our nation, but that is not really the case. If you are a man, and you are visiting Cassadaigua, as long as you are aware of our somewhat different culture, you should not have a tough time fitting in. After all, Cassadagan men that play by the rules here and respect their role can be very successful themselves. As long as you respect our culture, you should be fine while you are here. If you act disrespectful, then don’t be surprised if you are soon put in your place. You are expected to follow all Cassadagan laws, even if it is not a law in your own country,

4) I’ve been to nations that have talking ponies, or banned cars, or taxes on every little thing. Should I expect anything like this?

Cassadagans love horses, but there are no talking ponies here. At least not that we know of. If we have any sentient immigrants from nations like Equestrian States, they keep a very low profile. Cars are very much a way of life, and our taxes aren’t anything out of the ordinary, and if anything are a little lower then average. Cassadaigua is modern, economic powerhouse. There are no unusual factors associated with the country, other then the gender differences.

Socially, Cassadaigua is open to members of all faiths, and we respect your right to worship your respective deity in the way you see fit; or to not worship one at all. Homosexuality is accepted in the country, though we can’t promise that some random drunk in the stands or on the streets won’t make offensive comments.

As far as drinking is concerned, the legal age is 18, though many get away with underage drinking as it is not as aggressively policed as it may be in other lands. However, do not drink and drive. If you are caught, you will have a greater jail sentence then you might be expecting, and if you kill anyone by drunk driving, you will receive the death penalty.

Smoking anywhere in public is banned, but legal in your own home. This applies to both cigarettes and marijuana. All other recreational drugs are banned.

5) Where will the games be? Tell me about the cities, please.

Games will be held in Concord Heights, Brattleboro, Grande Mountain, Rutland, Winchester, New Lakeland, Victoriaville, and Starksville.

Concord Heights- This is the nation capital, and the city has hosted many international championships before, including the World Baseball Classic 18 title series. You’ll find the city in northeast Cassadaigua, and there are plenty of things to do while here. We won’t get into all of them, because if its on your mind, simply put, its in Concord Heights. Within the city, you will find the most traditional Cassadagan citizens; the ones least likely to be listening to MEN (Male Equality Now) or any other of men’s rights messages. The University of Concord Heights is the nation’s most accredited higher learning institution, but if you want to leave Cassadaigua looking better to impress people at home, check out Concord Heights Beauty School for all kind of tips on looking your best, and museums dedicated specifically to the ultimate in vanity.

Stadium Dimensions (in feet from home plate): LF- 355 LCF- 375 CF- 405 RCF- 375 RF- 355
Capacity: 72,000

Brattleboro- The most rapidly growing city in Cassadaigua recently topped Grande Mountain in terms of population. Brattleboro sits immediately alongside the border between us and Sicoutimont. The technological age is what has caused the rise of this city, thanks in large part to the prestigious Brattleboro Technical Institute. Graduates remained committed to the area, and are since having families of their own. Overall, there is a younger demographic here, age wise, and that coupled with the name of the city has led to others to call its residents “Brats”.

Stadium Dimensions: LF- 346 LCF- 352 CF- 369 RCF- 360 RF- 352 (walls are 12-feet high in all but CF. There, it is 16 feet)
Capacity: 70,000

Grande Mountain- Another large city, there has been some controversy in Grande Mountain lately. Most of that pertains to the local university, and you should be safe as long as you mind your own business. Those with a long term memory about Grande Mountain, and recent protest that have taken place here can take solace in knowing that has not been an issue in the last couple years.

Stadium Dimensions: LF- 350 LCF- 390 CF- 412 RCF- 382 RF- 354
Capacity: 65,000

Rutland- A port city in southeastern Cassadaigua, Rutland sometimes gets lost in the shuffle with the other cities in tournaments like this. It could use a bit of a makeover, but local officials have concentrated efforts on the port itself, and as such the rest of the city could appear ignored. It is true that many are migrating out of Rutland because of this, and it’s possible that it might not appear as a host city much longer.

Stadium Dimensions: LF- 330 LCF- 372 CF- 404 RCF- 379 RF- 346
Capacity: 54,000

Winchester- The anti-Brattleboro in that while Brattleboro is a younger city, demographically, Winchester is a place that a lot of retired people have migrated too, to get away from big city life. In the process, they created a big city themselves, but you’ll notice that this city doesn’t have same kind of pizzazz as others. You’ll find more bingo halls then bars in the city, and residents only agree to allow the city to be used for international events because of the money you’ll bring in to the city. So that they can gamble it away playing bingo.

Stadium Dimensions: LF- 339 LCF- 368 CF- 400 RCF- 363 RF- 333
Capacity: 58,000

New Lakeland- If you want to enjoy Cassadaigua and go to a city with the most gender equality, then New Lakeland is the spot for you. The reason is, that this used to be a city in Secristan before Cassadaigua took it over, therefore its origins aren’t the same. As time has gone by, Cassadagan lifestyle has begun to take it over, but there many relics of its history still prevalent on the streets. It’s the most capitalist city in the country, but given that origin, that shouldn’t be a surprise. City has seen a lot of recent sporting success with New Lakeland University winning the NSCAA 9 title, and the New Lakeland Tycoons winning the Club Baseball Classic.

Stadium Dimensions: LF- 370 LCF- 402 CF- 420 RCF- 390 RF- 345
Capacity: 88,000

Starksville- Like Brattleboro, this is a growing city, and it’s also beginning to replace Rutland as being the nations top port city, given that it’s closer to Concord Heights then Rutland may be. It’s a great spot for beaches and nightlife, though doesn’t have a lot of history to go with it.

Stadium Dimensions: LF- 347 LCF- 370 CF- 411 RCF- 373 RF- 356
Capacity: 60,000

Victoriavile- As the most populous city in Southwestern Cassadaigua, Victoriaville again returns as a host city to give Dagans living in this area some close games to travel too. There’s nothing really wrong with the city, it’s just not as big as the others.

Stadium Dimensions: LF- 326 LCF- 361 CF- 399 RCF- 370 RF- 322

DRAWKLAND NATIONAL BASEBALL TEAM

Name: Base Corps
Demonym: Drawkian
Physiology: Special
9TH World Baseball Classic, Rank #23
Stadium: Hydrogen Cyanide Field, Drawk City
Capacity: 50,000

Manager: Robin Anker

The Base Corps' home field has been designated as Hydrogen Cyanide Field, a ballpark housing a massive 50,000. It's nestled in the middle of Drawk City, near the Sports Quarter of the city around the Drawkland River. The field is regularly used by the Drawk City Scouts, but in the offseason it's used by the Base Corps and as a stage for events.
Drawk City being Drawkland's most massive, sprawling city of many millions, travel can get congested, but there are lots of options for travelers. For teams, buses can be used, and there are several charter/private bus companies who are welcoming visiting teams. Traveling by airship is the favorable option for those wanting to see a big slice of Drawkian culture, traveling in the city. The lower left corner of the photo seen above is actually a semi-large dock for boats, which teams can travel in if they feel like it.
Getting to the city also heralds several options. Drawk City has a space port for those from non-Sonnelian regions, and an airport for more "local" travels (say if a team went to a space port with cheaper rates and flew into Drawk City by plane). Travel by boat is possible, but it's all river travel, so the source port will have to be from somewhere else on the Drawkland River or on the coastlines.

Drawkland is quite a cultural and tourism-minded nation, so teams and fans will have much fun in the city before and after the games. A notable item is the very widespread usage of music. Not only can music be heard through the streets, but in all sports games, including baseball, pep bands are a common if not a necessary feature of every game. Playing during gameplay is accepted, so visiting teams may have to take this into account. When on the road, however, the Drawkian pep bands following the Base Corps is more polite and will only play between innings. Drum cadences are crowd favorites.

THE GRAND DUCHY OF SCHILTZBERG
"Deum Super Omnia"

History:
The Grand Duchy of Schiltzberg is an enormous nation that stretches to engulf much of the European continent, and has grown from humble beginnings into being the economic, social, and cultural powerhouse that it is today. In the year 1718, the grand patriot and war hero, whose name was Nicolas Schiltz, was granted a large portion of land for his gallantry in action and his extreme patriotism and courage in the First Javanese War of Succession (1704-1707) by the Luxembourgish Grand Duke. This land became a province of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, and was called Schiltzberg. Schiltzberg began to grow in industry and culture, and with the growing ideas of the Enlightenment, Schiltzbergers believed that they deserved to be a sovereign state, which would be independent from Luxembourg. Inspired by the American Revolution, Duke Jean I of Schiltzberg declared Schiltzberg's independence from Luxembourg on March 31, 1781. Luxembourg was in no state of readiness for war, and was forced to recognize Schiltzberg's independence, and Luxembourg's Grand Duke Joseph I signed the treaty to recognize the new Grand Duchy on February 12, 1782. The nation grew industrially very quickly, having an industrial revolution, and it quadrupled in size, gaining territories from its militarily inferior rival of the Holy Roman Empire, which Schiltzberg seemed to be continuously and indefinitely at war with.

In the nineteenth century, Emperor Napoleon of France, which had been an ally of Schiltzberg's before the French Revolution, threatened to declare war on Schiltzberg if it did not submit itself to his rule. Schiltzberg refused, and this led to a French invasion of Schiltzbergian territory. Schiltzberg lashed out against Napoleon's army with an army that was much stronger than the Emperor had anticipated, and Schiltzberg defeated Napoleon, winning crucial battles at Paris and Versailles. Schiltzberg occupied France for seven months and intended on claiming the entire territory of that nation for its own, but hostile Germany its allies were afraid of Schiltzberg becoming too powerful, and threatened to declare war if Schiltzberg claimed land south of the 47th parallel. Schiltzberg claimed all of France north of that latitude line, though it also ceded a large portion of the land to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, which had been an ally in the war, and the remaining territory became an independent government known as the Republic of France, which became a close ally of Schiltzberg in many crucial wars.

Late in that century, the German kingdoms began to centralize, making Germany a critical threat to Schiltzberg and all of Europe. In 1914, following the assassination of Franz Ferdinand, who was a leader in Germany's ally of Austria-Hungary, the German military broke a twenty year standoff with Schiltzberg and its allies by invading Belgium. The German military was so strong that it overtook the Belgian capital of Brussels after only 72 hours, slaughtering the royal family of Belgium and leaving Belgium and its allies, including Schiltzberg, stunned. Schiltzberg, Luxembourg, the United Kingdom of Great Britain, and the Republic of France all declared war on Germany within several days of this happening. The Allies acted fast to prevent the Germans from attacking further nations, and Luxembourg and Great Britain attacked German troops in Belgium, while Schiltzberg and France invaded German territory. The Germans fought back hard, and they were able to push through Belgium into Schiltzbergian territory, forcing Schiltzberg to retreat and defend its own border with Belgium. The Allies signed an agreement with the Russian Empire and the United States of America, and the reinforcements from these nations allowed the Allies to begin to push back the Central Powers, which were led by Germany. The Russians invaded Germany from the east, and the rest of the Allies closed in on Germany from the west, and finally were able to break back into German territory in March of 1916. The German capital was overtaken, and the government was overthrown, as Schiltzberg and its allies won the war in May of 1916. Schiltzberg claimed much of the western German territory, expanding its own empire significantly. Belgium was administered by the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in an effort to restore its government, but the natives started a movement to be absorbed into Luxembourg, and a referendum was passed to absorb Belgium into Luxembourg in November of 1919. France, Great Britain were given the imperialist territories of Germany, and Russia was given the part of Germany that has been called Prussia. The Allies created a new, democratic government in Germany, much at the pushing of the United States and France, but much to the dismay of Schiltzberg, which wanted to create a new monarchy, preferably from their own royal family to create an alliance with the Germans. Peace was temporarily gained.

The Germans began to stir again, as they recovered from the horrible war. There was a strong economic depression, and this angered the Germans, who blamed the depression on Schiltzberg. In September of 1939, Germany invaded Schiltzberg and once again started a world war. Italy and Japan joined Germany in its conquest of world domination, as Italy aided Germany in its European and African conquests, and Japan led its own Pacific and Asian conquests. The Allies reassembled, as the Schiltzbergers and every other European nation except for Germany and Italy declared war on the Axis Powers, and the United States declared war on Japan after being attacked in December of 1941. The Germans showed early dominance in the war, gaining a lot of territory very quickly, and Schiltzberg was forced to temporarily move its government to Versailles, which was much farther west from the front line than New Schiltzbierg was. It was a good thing too, because New Schiltzbierg was overtaken, and the Germans claimed "East Schiltzberg" for their own. Schiltzberg was not defeated yet though, as they fought back with their allies and regained the land. Meanwhile, the Americans were fighting bitterly against the Japanese in the Pacific, recapturing island nations that had previously been taken by the Japanese. The Americans got involved in the African conquest after receiving a message from the Republic of Mexico that the Germans had offered Mexico an alliance if it would invade the United States. The Germans were winning the war in Europe, but then made the mistake of provoking Soviet Union, which had previously been known as Russia, and this almost immediately resulted in their beginning to lose ground. They had opened up another front of the war and were unable to maintain their efforts. Captured land was retaken by the allies, who closed in on rivaling Germany, and the Germans surrendered in January of 1944. The Allies were furious that they had allowed the Germans to continue to have a government after the first World War, and this time, they allowed Schiltzberg to annex what remained of German territory, as well as Switzerland and Austria, which had supported the German effort, wiping Germany off the map. The Soviet Union was allowed to annex the German satellite state of Poland, and France was allowed to annex North Italy, while the United Kingdom was given South Italy as an imperial territory. Great Britain later sold this territory to France for money in an alliance treaty. The United States was allowed to keep all of the island nations as its territories, and was also given a great amount of land in Africa that had previously belonged to Germany, but this land was lost to the independence movement over the next decade. The people of Luxembourg voted to be annexed by Schiltzberg in 1948 in a referendum, so this gave Schiltzberg control of most of central Europe.

In the 1950s, Schiltzberg adopted moderate socialism, and was seen as the moderate of European politics, with the Soviet Union as the extreme communist and Great Britain and France as extreme capitalists. It was good to have neutral Schiltzberg separating these powers, and this is what prevented another World War from happening.

In the dawn of the third millennium, many began to question the legitimacy of a monarchy, including Schiltzberg's own leader, Grand Duke Lucas I. On March 31, 2014, Lucas stepped down as Grand Duke and approved a democratic constitution into law that would allow for the election of the head of state, who was the President. This was Schiltzberg's form of government for forty years of relative peace and mediocrity, until a man named James Williams was elected President in 2046. Williams was an extremist who fought to create nationalism in the country and strengthen government in Schiltzberg, in the case of war. He invaded France, which had been Schiltzberg's ally, and won the war because of Schiltzberg's outrageous military spending. In the treaty that ended the war, Schiltzberg annexed all of the Italian Peninsula, greatly increasing its land area. Schiltzberg asserted its dominance, and became an imperial power when its navy invaded several islands off of the coast of Asia. Nationalism was at its peak in Schiltzberg, and Williams was elected to a second term in 1950. He continued his controversial policies in his second term, but received a blind eye from foreign powers, because they feared his military strength. In 1954, Williams was to be removed from office, due to a clause in the constitution that limited a President to two terms. Williams asked for an amendment to be passed that would allow him to serve a third term, but the legislature unanimously voted down this amendment. Williams was outraged, and declared that he would refuse to step down as President. The following day, the congress voted to impeach him, and the Justice Council called for an impeachment trial. WIlliams then had the military assassinate all members of congress and the Justice Council, and declared himself the Emperor of Schiltzberg. Emperor James, as he called himself, declared war on France once again, and invaded. France and all of its allies, including Great Britain and the United States declared war on the rebel government and wished to restore peace in Schiltzberg. The Soviet Union also declared war on Schiltzberg out of fear of invasion. After six months, the government was overthrown, and the Schiltz Dynasty was restored, with Lucas III, grandson of Lucas I, as the new Grand Duke. Now there have been two decades of peace since the ancient government was restored, and most Schiltzbergers live happily in peace.

HOME AWAY

The Grand Duchy of Schiltzberg offers the tournament use of Royal Dome, home of the New Schiltzbierg Grand Dukes of the NBLS, which is owned and paid for by the taxpaying citizens of New Schiltzbierg. The elegant stadium is the only stadium in the NBLS to have a fixed roof, but the elegant stadium is dubbed as "unique" rather than "outdated" for this feature. The stadium was built as Schiltzberg Stadium in 1978, and was host to several teams until it was bought by the NBLS when it was founded in 2000. The name was changed to Royal Dome in 2000. The New Schiltzbierg Grand Dukes have played at Royal Dome since 2000, and the New Schiltzbierg Prime Ministers (now the Presidents) also played there from 2000 to 2012.

The Lycrabon Blue Jays prepare to enter their seventeenth WBC this year, which is one of three special numbers. 24, the second ever hosting of this tournament by the ISL. 20, the one (and so far, only) title by the sky blue and black. 17, the original host tournament. Grumbling during the end stages of last Classic's run to the quarterfinals caused a compete turnover - even though Grant Delgado became the 5th player to enter the WBC Hall from the Blue Jays.

Baseball Beepee Manager Homer Unn sat at his desk. It was time to choose his squad for the forthcoming World Baseball Classic.

He sat with the squads for each of the Beepeean clubs, examining the batting averages and other key determinants.

His gazed up from his paperwork and pinched the bridge of his nose to keep himself awake.  As he stared absentmindedly across the room his eyes fell on the Prarie Classic third place trophy won by Baseball Beepee a few short months ago.

"Eureka! We'll use the same team.... after all we're all cleared of that dreadful Auphelian Koala Chlamydia".

With that Homer Unn jotted down the  25 man roster...

The Baseball Federation of Liventia proudly announces its 25-man roster for the World Baseball Classic qualifying rounds, its first international tournament since the professional game was re-founded in the country eight seasons ago.

The Liventian Baseball Championship is currently made up of 24 teams in six divisions of four, with 12 in each conference (the National Baseball League and Challenge Baseball League). Teams are not 'franchises' and are based permanently in cities and towns.
The NBL does not use the designated hitter, while the CBL does. Sixteen teams qualify for the playoffs (three division winners plus next five best teams by record per conference) after a 104–game season. Note that therefore, the statistics provided below for each player are for a 104–game season, not 162.

Permissions:
Choose my run-scorers: Yes
Choose my lineup: *Please follow my line-ups below unless one of my players has been RPed as injured, in which case you may select a replacement player if I have not already designated one.
Follow my Pitching Rotation: Yes
Godmod scoring events: Yes
RP injuries to my players: Yes – please, no season- or career-ending injuries.
Godmod injuries to my players: Yes
Eject my players: Yes – but only if you eject one or more from your own team.
DH used at home: *For the playoffs, Liventia will use the designated hitter.
Godmod other events: Yes
Other info: The team will rely on sabermetric splits and substitutions, especially in innings 7 to 9 (or if behind early).
Home grounds:
Orean Capital Grounds, regular capacity 22,000 (international capacity 38,000); DH not used
Home ground of Orean Capital Baseball Club (NBL), average home attendance 21,560
Dimensions:
Left foul pole 321 ft; left field 352 ft; left-centre 376 ft; centre field 416 ft; right-centre 378 ft; right field 340 ft; right foul pole 319 ft; wall height 9 ft constant
Favours left-handed and right-handed hitters equally.

A 'typical' field with no weird configurations in outfield, the Capital Grounds is the oldest ground in Orean and has been known by many names through its existence. It fell into disuse when the old Liventian league folded, although it was used for casual amateur games. The new club bought the ground from the city council and reduced the stadium capacity, although there is space for 16,000 temporary seats for international games. Public transport: Baseball Ground station on the Orean Metro Central Line.

Will host: Schiltzberg (MD4/24), Juvencus (MD8/18), Pripet Socialist Republic (MD12)

Port Cartfort Park, capacity 24,100; DH used
Home ground of The Saboteurs Baseball Club Port Cartfort [Port Cartfort Saboteurs] (CBL), average home attendance 22,100
Dimensions:
Left foul pole 317 ft; left field 349 ft; left-centre 397 ft; centre field 429 ft; right-centre 402 ft; right field 366 ft; right foul pole 322 ft; wall height 7 ft in left/left-centre; 13 ft in centre; 15 ft in right/right-centre
Right-handed hitters have far more joy at PCP than left-handed hitters. There are also a high number of triples and thanks to the dimensions, inside-the-park home runs are not uncommon at PCP.

The LBC's single-season home-run record was broken in the most recent season by a Port Cartfort Saboteur, as Dermot Rowntree (42) became the first man since the return of professional baseball to break the 40-HR mark, thanks in part to his wheels. Transport: National rail from Orean or City Centre; then local bus routes.

Will host: Pripet Socialist Republic (MD2/22), Valliesta (MD6/16/26), Schiltzberg (MD14), Juvencus (MD28)
Style modifier (if in use): +3

Liventia's rotation and lineup below are accurate for the playoffs.

Starting Rotation
1. Tyler Newitt, age 30, throws left, bats left.
LBC: 10–4, 2.40 ERA, 129 K, 39 BB, 1.11 WHIP, .224 opponents' average
A consistent performer. Has recorded at least 10 wins from 21 or 22 starts in all four of his years in the big leagues. Doesn't have great stuff but makes up for it with a nasty breaking action and solid control. Throws: Changeup, curveball, four-seamer
2. Patrick Rider, age 33, throws right, bats right.
LBC: 11–4, 2.67 ERA, 156 K, 29 BB, 1.02 WHIP, .218 OAVG
Had the season of his life. A real team leader in addition to being an incredible arm. Rarely uses his curveball, which is his weakest pitch and usually misses. Throws: Changeup, slider, four-seamer, curveball
3. Francis Delamere, age 24, throws left, bats left.
Plays in the Newmanistan Baseball League. Throws: Two-seamer, splitter, slurve
4. Kieran Sheldon, age 19, throws left, bats left.
LBC: 8–4, 2.33 ERA, 143 K, 32 BB, 1.13 WHIP, .229 OAVG
An 8–4 season goes down as 'disappointing' in Sheldon's books. Finished his rookie season aged 18 with a 13–1 record and 1.79 ERA. League's best young pitcher. Has just three pitches but he doesn't need more when they are all extremely effective. Throws: Four-seamer, curveball, knucklecurve
5. Oscar Stable, age 29, throws right, bats switch.
LBC: 7–8, 2.17 ERA, 127 K, 29 BB, 1.06 WHIP, .233 OAVG
Stingy walker. Pitch movement goes dead the longer he goes. Throws: Four-seamer, slider, changeup, forkball
6. Frank Kenley (long relief), age 19, throws left, bats left.
LBC: 4–1 1 SV, 3.68 ERA, 96 K, 32 BB, 1.38 WHIP, .238 OAVG; throws cutter, four-seamer, slider, forkball
Started the WBC in the pen, but promoted after an early injury to Delamere. Has kept his spot in the rotation, albeit as the sixth option.

Bullpen
Gary Hobby (long relief), age 27, throws right, bats left.
LBC: 4–3 29 SV, 2.74 ERA, 54 K, 6 BB, 1.20 WHIP, .275 OAVG; throws slider, sinker, two-seamer
Doesn't walk many people but allows too many hits to be overly useful late on, so moved to a long relief position.
Toby Whiteley (middle relief), age 33, throws right, bats right.
LBC: 4–0 3 SV, 2.15 ERA, 97 K, 22 BB, 0.92 WHIP, .173 OAVG; throws four-seamer, knuckle curve
Callum Shone (middle relief/set-up), age 34, throws right, bats right.
LBC: 2–1 2 SV, 1.41 ERA, 70 K, 10 BB, 0.86 WHIP, .191 OAVG; throws four-seamer, curveball, slider
Eddie Infield (set-up/closer), age 34, throws left, bats left.
LBC: 5–2 15 SV, 0.92 ERA, 71 K, 9 BB, 0.62 WHIP, .130 OAVG; throws curveball, four-seamer
Aiden Horne (closer), age 25, throws right, bats right.
Plays in the Newmanistan Baseball League. Throws four-seamer, cutter, changeup

Starting lineup with DH
1. SS Wayne Poll, age 31, throws right, bats right.
LBC: .372, 5 HR, 59 RBI, 56 BB, 40 K, fielding pct .984; solid contact hitter. Won't go deep often, and has no running ability.
2. CF Noël Grosjean, age 24, throws right, bats switch.
Plays in the Newmanistan Baseball League. Speedy and great defensive player. Can also play RF.
3. 2B Eddie Denver, age 30, throws right, bats left.
LBC: .341, 20 HR, 61 RBI, 46 BB, 57 K, fielding pct .990; can also play 1B/3B/SS. Struggles with pitches down and away, and can't really run.
4. DH Devin James, age 29, throws right, bats left.
Plays in the Newmanistan Baseball League. Can't run. Can't really field. But a power guy. In games without a DH, plays 1B.
5. LF Daniel Hookway, age 32, throws right, bats right.
LBC: .365, 20 HR, 67 RBI, 45 BB, 61 K, 14 SB, fielding pct 1.000 (at RF). Can also play RF. Found himself on the bench as a player-coach to start the WBC, but thrown into the lineup for the second half of the qualifiers.
6. RF Dermot Rowntree, age 19, throws right, bats right.
LBC: .250, 42 HR, 110 RBI, 24 BB, 119 K, 21 SB, fielding pct .933; plus-plus power and speed. Will love playing for Liventia at Port Cartfort Park.
7. C Tom Raven, age 32, throws right, bats right.
LBC: .326, 18 HR, 83 RBI, 48 BB, 58 K, fielding pct .986
8. 3B David Stelfox, age 24, throws right, bats right.
LBC: .304, 9 HR, 42 RBI, 34 BB, 91 K, 21 SB, fielding pct .978; can also play 1B/SS. Big speed guy and will run.
9. 1B Henry Woodings, age 25, throws left, bats left.
LBC: .292, 14 HR, 74 RBI, 19 BB, 109 K, fielding pct .994; can't run and swings at many pitches outside the zone. But he has some pop when he makes contact. For the second half of the group stage, will sit in games without the DH.

The starting lineup without a DH sees the following change:
Devin James plays 1B. Henry Woodings sits; the pitcher bats ninth.

Reserves
C Oliver Tredgett, age 30, throws right, bats right.
LBC: .292, 3 HR, 40 RBI, 45 BB, 60 K, fielding pct .997
1B Ron Edney, age 19, throws right, bats switch.
LBC: .297, 19 HR, 59 RBI, 34 BB, 64 K, mostly DH. Above-average contact, power, and speed, but he doesn't always run. Below-average fielding and discipline.
1B/LF/INF Lewis Wymiss, age 31, throws right, bats right.
LBC: .340, 7 HR, 43 RBI, 61 BB, 51 K, fielding pct .995. Mostly a defensive replacement – solid in the field. Contact hitter, but no power or speed. Draws walks.
CF/OF Kane Roskilly, age 20, throws right, bats right.
LBC: .261, 13 HR, 46 RBI, 47 BB, 106 K, 35 SB, fielding pct .988. Veritable pinch runner with average contact, power, discipline and fielding.
LF Lucas Dumbrill, age 19, throws right, bats right.
LBC: .295, 3 HR, 40 RBI, 21 BB, 70 K, 29 SB, fielding pct .950 (1.000 at CF); can also play CF. Consistent .280+ hitter, but has no power nor patience. A good runner who also reads pickoff moves well. Started the WBC in the lineup but has now been benched.

Pitching Coach: Anca Ahlberg
Hitting Coach: Mats McNabb
1B Coach: Morten Lowe
3B Coach: Adrian Craig
Bench Coach: Ulrika Munro
Team Doctor: Dr. Elisabet Bager
This team is very aggresive at the plate, they like to go for the long ball even if that means striking out. They like to steal a lot of bases and that could get them in trouble if the pitchers are good at pick offs. Their pitching is solid if not great, and the bullpen is serviceable.

The home stadium of the Greater Nordics is King Lauritz II Stadium. It is a modern stadium that is just on the outskirts of Copenhagen. It seats 30,000 but it does not feel that big. Its outfield walls measure 335 feet to left, 400 feet at center and 325 feet at right field.

Capacity: There are no tickets or assigned seats, just bring a picnic blanket and sit anywhere you can get a good view. If you are watching from the outfield, please sit beyond the sunken path and the wooden fence, as these have been designated as the boundary of the field.
Concessions: There is farmhouse across the road where you can buy food and beverages. It's owned by a local civilian, so you'll have to ask them what they have available.

Other Info: My nation is the historical ship USS Monitor. If you're enough of a history nerd to bring in other members of the Monitor's crew besides the ones that I've named, go for it!

My team is pretty flexible with their lineup and who plays what position, so feel free to move people around and have them playing different positions or batting in a different order, regardless of how likely it would be on a normal major league team.

Having moved from the Westpike Grounds to Maple Leaf Field and having acquired new leadership in Manager "Pinky" Higgins, it is hoped that the "Noble Men of Bauscland" will have a successful campaign in WBC 43. |

Darmen will not make use of the DH at any point in the tournament.

Image
The first alternate uniform will be used for all night games during the group stage. The second alternate uniform will be used for day games away from home during the playoffs, with the exception of the final, though we doubt we'll get that far.

Image
All Darmeni home games will be played at Royal Ballpark, capacity 40,000, located in Scott City. The stadium is home to Royal BC. Park Factor of 94.

Darmeni Baseball Style
Offensively, the top of the order has one job and one job only: get on base and stay on base. Contact hitting is the name of the game for those three, as they look to give the cleanup hitter plenty of opportunities for RBI's. For the cleanup hitter, hitting the ball as far as possible will be the most likely course of action, though having men on base while trailing will cause a more conservative approach to be taken. For the remaining batters, the hit and run, as well as conventional base stealing will be utilized. At any point where there are two outs in an inning, hitting for the fences will be likely. In other words, "Go BIG or go home."

Defensively, things will be fairly conventional, with defensive shifts occurring perhaps once every ten games and an extra man being brought into the infield perhaps once per tournament.

And finally, pitching. Strike zone, strike zone, strike zone. Throwing outside of the strike zone is highly frowned upon in Darmeni baseball, so pitch counts will likely always be in favor of the pitcher. That being said, expect a great deal of variance in pitch types, with most pitchers having four or five different pitch types in their repertoire. Some even have as many as seven. Also, Darmeni baseball fans love a good Eephus. Also, no intentional walks, ever. We ain't scared of no one.

Also, you may be wondering why many of the younger players are all switch hitters. In Darmen, all players are taught to bat with both hands, and many continue to do so until their mid to late twenties, when they finally make a decision on how they will bat.

THE OSCIORU SAINTS

...presented by the Grand Ducal Batting Sports Association

The Grand Duchy of Oscioru was created in 1106 after spliting up from the Holy Empire of Juvencus with its only reason being that the Papi Orientali wars being a useless period, designed to kill Osci people. However differences between the average Osci and the average Juven person had existed long before the seperation and now both nations enjoy a long-lasting rivalry. The Grand Duchy, in an attempt to split as much as possible from the Holy Empire has made baseball its 2nd most popular sport, if not the most popular, almost on par with association football, or as the locals in Oscioru call it, soccer. The national baseball team of Oscioru was created in 1961 in order to represent the Grand Duchy against its Duchies(Colonies) in the annual Ducal Baseball Championship, or the DuBC with massive success, winning the tournament on 10 occassions against its colonies. However the collective team of Oscioru this competition includes players from both the Duchies and the main nation. Without further ado, we present you the Oscioru Saints.

Anthoran National Baseball Team
"The Thunderheads"

The Thunderheads declined to compete in the 42nd Baseball Classic, which marked the first time in five Classics that Anthor would not be represented on the international scale. The decision was met with sharp criticism from fanbases across the country, but manager Colin Nittledeen stated that he, ABL President Irwin Victors and the Minister of Sports felt that the clubs within the newly minted professional domestic league, the Anthoran Baseball League, needed time to settle in their foundations or risk players being overwhelmed. Taking a season off of the Classic may have helped the players find their groove, but the core of the team that has been with us since WBC 37 is growing increasingly old, and that will only further complicate Nittledeen's campaign to qualify for the playoffs for the first time. Inaugural performers such as Tony Russell, despite notching back to back MVP seasons, are turning 34-38 this year and Colin's released roster has shown he has already begun to prune a number of the older veterans in favor of younger talent. While they may be raw at the international level, he will be banking on the fact that their youth and spirit will carry them.

The pitching staff, specifically the starters rotation, has seemingly matured the most. Konnor Valentine, once the outlyer of a pack between Sheard and Morgan is now the ace of the national team, having fully come into his own in the recently concluded ABL season where not only did he win Pitcher of the Year, but also set the league record for the most strikeouts as well as leading in innings pitched and wins. He's joined by fellow national veterans Noah Clarke, Francis Reed who has turned into a strikeout machine himself, and Shane Woodward. The only new face is Wayne McDonald, the 602 DC PoY, and also led last season in innings pitched, and placed Top 5 with WAR. McDonald serves as a replacement for a floundering Nathan Flynn, whose ERA hasn't dropped below 4 in his last two domestic seasons, and Alair Morgan who seemingly can not recover from a string of arm injuries.

Stadiums of Northwest Kalactin Baseball

Gold Coast international Baseball Stadium: this stadium is probably the Best in Northwest Kalactin. It’s atmosphere is very nice due to all the people that live there and the number of fans that come to games there. A few tips while visiting the stadium:
• get seats on the foul ball area if you want to catch a ball Kalactanian players tend to hit the ball a ton.
• if you get food there get a famous Kalactanian Deep dish pizza slice.
• Visit the Kalactanian Baseball hall of fame in the first home game for the kalactanians there will be a raffle for a autographed Jake Bannon jersey!

Coffs Harbor Baseball Park: Did you know Coffs Harbour Baseball Park was a battlefield during the Kalactanian Revolution in 1984! You probably didn’t well anyways this is the oldest stadium in Northwest Kalactin built in 1946 it is a amazing stadium here are a few tips
• The stadium is very small the center feild wall is only 360 feet many home runs will be hit here
• Visit the Kalactanian War Memorial only .4 miles from the stadium

Kyater Park: Kyater Park is pretty crazy it has high winds and it’s in the mountains the team chose this park so there power hitters can hit more home runs.

DOGGO TEAM ROSTER
43rd Baseball Classic

Description
The Doggos are the main baseball team (and dogball) of Midand. The baseball part of the team was formed a while ago at the Prarie Baseball Classic in response to Midand's slow growth in the baseball community. The Doggos were renowned as some of the best Dogball, which is very similar to baseball, players in the world, with their home stadium Doggo Stadium being the center and "capital" of the dogball community.
They are now here in the WBC, determined to show their new baseball skills to the world.

The New Sangti Indios
Official Roster for the World Baseball Classic 43

Information
Nation Name: New Sangti
Trigramme: TRB (taken from predecessor nation, The Royal Barangay)
Stadium: Estadio Beisbol de Sangti (cap. 45,000)
Ballpark Modifier: 90
Style Modifier: +2
Location: Ciudad Nuevo Sangti

A Nation Underground
Unlike the predecessor nations of Sangti and The Royal Barangay, the nation of New Sangti is hidden from the depths of Esportiva. It is only accessible from an underground tunnel in nearby Isla Nespa, an island southeast of the former mainland. This island can be accessed by small airplanes; however they must time their flight right as only red eye flights (those past 12 midnight up to 4 am) can arrive on the island. This is due to the island being off-limits and in a no-fly zone in daylight. This is due to fears that radioactive levels in the mainland are very high.

Upon arriving in the tunnel, an alternative ecosystem can be found underground, with supply of water and electricity abundant from underground heat generating energy that can be converted to electricity.

Arriving teams in New Sangti can request for van for hire that will take them to Nuevo Sangti, the new capital of the nation. It will take around 5 to 6 hours from the portal in Isla Nespa to Nuevo Sangti, depending on traffic.
