Infinite Justice Rebooted (Marvel,DC,DBZ X/Over, OOC, Open)

Postby The Republic of Atria » Thu Feb 12, 2015 5:25 pm

In a world where the 3 universes of Marvel, DC, and Dragon Ball Z are all combined into one. It brings a legion of new heroes and villains to deal with. But there are more than just bad guys to deal with. Superhumans of all strength, size, and power are beginning to spring up. Both good and bad. The world governments are fearing for both their safety and the safety of their people. Often leading them to arrest many superhumans despite them not having done anything wrong. How will you shape the world around you? Will you use your power to help those around you, or use it for personal gain?

I've never been one for overdone exposition as you can see. I like things simple. You can create a hero or villain. But I have a few rules for villains. In this RP, many of the stories will be ones made up by the players for their character to go through. Please do not intrude upon them unless you have their permission. Also. No reality warping as a main power. You can use it only on your own personal stories, but not when dealing with other players.

IC: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=330801

Rules:
Typical RP etiquette: No Godmodding, No Metagaming. No in OOC arguing, I am the OP/God.
I will allow Saiyans and Kryptonians. Please don't ruin it for everyone else.
ALL characters are required to have a weakness.
Fun is mandatory. Beatings will continue until morale improves!
No one is allowed to be related to main characters. You are not Superman's 4th cousin, or Vegeta's other other brother.
Please ensure your characters fit into the universe that is created. Hybrids and stuff are fine, just make sure you can explain it in terms of one of the universes.
Your powers will grow as time goes on. Don't rush it or I'll swat you with the Nerf bat and a disappointed look. If you want to upgrade your powers, TG me and we'll chat. Everyone will tell you I am very reasonable.

Name/Alias: Killian Roth/Omega

Gender: Male

Age: 21

Appearance(Pics are fine, include costume if needed!): Normal Appearance:
Image

Costume

Species: Homo-Superior

Backstory: Kilian went about his life like any normal teenager would: going to school, good grades, loving family, a dog, until about the age of 17 when his powers began to manifest while he was walking home from school. Killian began to lift into the air until he was several hundred feet. When he finally stopped rising and dropped like a stone, he hit the ground with enough force that he created a crater about 30 feet wide, but didn't have a scratch on him. He told his parents about it and while his father insisted that he keep quiet about it, his mother decided that the best thing to do would be to get in touch with the military. Killian often practiced with his powers and she secretly recorded him and sent them the videos. Not too long after, the military showed up and took him away from his home.

At first it was actually quite comfortable. They paid him and gave him two days off a week as long as he didn't leave the base. So he did most of his shopping online like any other smart person. They began to take more and more of his blood and began training him in hand to hand combat. After two years of this, he had quite a bit of money saved up and was acting as a secret agent for the US military. He didn't care what he was doing. He was getting paid and he was happy. His first mission was quite a doozy. He had to take out Kim-jong-Un and as many of his generals as he could. However, he was discovered and made his retreat back to the mainland US. The US was looked at for this incident and stretched international ties. After this, Killian quit and since then was no where to be seen.

Powers and Abilities: Self Molecular Manipulation: This grants Kilian Superhuman attributes which he can raise or lower as he needs to. All of his abilities are derived from this.
Energy manipulation: Kilian can project and make constructs out of energy from just about any part of his body.
Flight: Kilian can fly.
Shapeshifting: Kilian can change his size, shape, and appearance at will.
Regeneration: Kilian can survive injuries that would kill a normal person, such as being stabbed through the heart, and heal far faster. This also makes him immune to nearly all poisons and all diseases.
Supernatural Condition: Advanced level
Self Sustenance: Kilian does not require air, food, water, or rest. Though he still occasionally eats out of habit.

Weaknesses: Absolute Cold: All of Killian's powers are derived from his manipulation of his own molecules. Halting their movement will shut down all of his powers.
Fear: Killian's powers are part of his will. Eroding it or otherwise making him lose the will to fight will weaken him.
Shapeshifting: Killian can change into people and even large animals with minimal effort, however he can only replicate the voice if he's heard it before.
Healing Factor: Though he is extremely difficult to kill, he does feel pain and will focus on healing rather than combat if he takes a damaging hit.
Destructive Capacity: Large building level

Speed: Mach 5 while flying, Mach 2 on foot.

Durability: Multi-City block.

Lifting Strength: 500 tons.

Striking Strength: Gigajoules: Large building level

Stamina: Unlimited. Requires no food, water, or rest as long as he has the will.

Standard Equipment: Nothing.

Intelligence: Killian is fairly intelligent and has an infallible memory.

Optional stuff.

Name/Alias: Brianna Jackson/Spectrum

Gender: Female

Age: 18

Appearance(Pics are fine, include costume if needed!): http://thepaperwall.com/wallpapers/cart ... 1cd683.jpg

Species: Meta-human

Backstory: Brianna was born in the Birthplace of Jazz: New Orleans. She lived a fairly normal life that was characterized by an immense love for science, especially astronomy. She could be rarely seen without having her nose in a physics textbook. By the time she was 11 she was able to solve integral and differential based calculus maths problems and had already graduated High School, deciding to move on to university and pursue a degree in physics.

While in university, she was caught in a lab experiment failure that made everything around her seem as though everything was moving in slow motion. She quickly discovered that her body had actually become light. For the first year, life was pretty difficult. When she was late for class (which might seem ironic, but she tried to use her powers as little as possible), and would often find her body spontaneously turned into light and caused her to be bounced around from reflective surface to reflective surface like a pinball until she regained her composure.

During her university life, Brianna also caught wind of stories about superheroes, people with fantastic powers using their abilities to help others. She considered getting into the business herself, but decided to finish university first. After graduating at the age of 15 and obtaining her B.S. in theoretical physics, she got a job in her home town, New Orleans in a physics laboratory. Though she could have gotten a similar job in any other place in the world, she chose New Orleans not only because it was her home, but because it had one of the largest crime rates in the country. So, she decided to give back to the city she was raised in, and became a hero bent on helping reduce the amount of crime in the city. So far, she's been pretty successful as she grows further accustomed to her powers.

Powers and Abilities: Electromagnetic Spectrum Manipulation: Brianna can manipulate the Electromagnetic Spectrum. This grants her:
  • Energy Absorption which can also enhance her physical attributes
  • Energy Projection
  • She can also transform herself into pure energy within the EM spectrum which allows her to become intangible and directly take upon the properties of the wavelength.

Weaknesses:
  • Brianna can only transform into one part of the EM spectrum at a time.
  • While she can absorb energy, she can't absorb too much at a time or else she becomes overloaded, so she usually tries to maintain a steady balance of energy input vs output.
  • It is also incredibly taxing for her to maintain any one of her energy forms for any more than a few hours.
  • She cannot attack while intangible nor can she physically attack while moving at light speed unless she moves in a straight line and her opponent stands in one spot, which probably isn't going to happen.
  • Obviously, while she can enhance her physical abilities with her energy absorption, she's physically nothing special compared to other superhumans.

Destructive Capacity: Large Building | Small town (this is only possible using a move similar to Vegeta's Final Explosion which, and while it doesn't kill her, she pretty much uses up all her energy so she has to rest for a while to recharge)

Speed: Light Speed

Durability: Wall/Tree

Lifting Strength: Class 1

Striking Strength: Class MJ

Stamina: Peak Human (normal) | Superhuman (simple energy absorption)

Standard Equipment: None

Intelligence: Peak Human (obtained a B.S. in theoretical physics by the time she was 15)

Optional stuff.

Random Facts about your character:

Name/Alias: Jamal Robinson/Beast

Gender: Male

Age: 22

Appearance(Pics are fine, include costume if needed!):
Image

Image

Species: Human

Backstory: Jamal was born in Atlanta, Georgia to a pretty average middle class family. He lived a normal life until he suddenly started hearing voices in his head. Initially he thought it was just his mind playing tricks on him and he ignored it and didn't mention it to anyone else. After the voices didn't stop, he grew more and more worried until he finally decided to tell his parents. Before he could do so however, when he was walking home from school at the age of 15, he came across a dog. He almost pissed himself as he was petting the dog, as it started talking. It didn't speak in complete sentences, but it was definitely talking. Or, at least, he thought it was. It was more like the they were directly communicated with their minds.

So, Jamal decided to put off telling his parents about the voices and instead tested whether he actually was going insane or not. He visited a dog park and was almost entirely overwhelmed with the amount of voices in his head. He desperately concentrated on quieting the voices down until it was nothing more than a couple of whispers here and there. He approached one of the owners and asked to play with their dog. When he received permission, he tested his telepathic connection and greeted and introduced himself to the dog. The dog replied back, as expected. However, to truly test whether he wasn't simply insane, he gave the dog mental commands. The dog flawlessly followed the commands, despite him not having said them out loud.

He decided to test this on other dogs in the park. Some of them didn't follow his instructions at all, to his surprise. Though this didn't worry him because every time they didn't follow his instructions, they all mentally rejected him, with varying reasons for doing so. Some said they wouldn't do it except for if they received a treat, while others said they were tired and didn't feel like it. Jamal then had an idea, and to confirm it, he approached squirrels in the park. The squirrels couldn't barely communicate "thoughts" to him. Rather, they communicated intentions and goals. When they attempted to run, he commanded them to stop, and they stopped. When he commanded them to approach him, they approached him. They did whatever he wanted 100% of the time with no repudiation. Jamal quickly realized that it was significantly easier to control animals with less complex cognitive capabilities. He also assumed that he could hone his ability and eventually control animals regardless of their cognitive capacity.

Later that month, he watched a documentary in biology, his favorite subject. He had always had a fascination with learning about different species and what makes them tick. He enjoyed learning what makes humans so different and yet so similar to other species. The documentary was primarily about big cat species in Africa, especially the lion. He was completely absorbed in the documentary, as though he saw himself in the place of the lions as they hunted their prey and consumed their carcassas. When the documentary was over and the lights came on and he looked around the room at the other students and the teacher, Jamal felt a strange sensation that was also oddly familiar. His friend sitting beside him nudged him in his arm and pointed out that he was drooling. That all-too-familiar feeling he had was hunger. He quickly excused himself from the classroom and went to the bathroom that was thankfully empty. His eyes were bloodshot and red, with an animal-like, piercing gaze. Even his teeth had become more animal like as his canines grew and sharpened to a degree that would be able to easily tear through flesh.

The next morning, Jamal ran to school as he was going to be late. He found his mind wandering back to the documentary he had saw the previous day, specifically the cheetah. He envied their speed at the moment. He wished he could use it in his daily life and make it to class on time. The next thing he knew, he heard a loud boom and was in front of his school in the blink of an eye. Needless to say, this was more jarring to him than the whole animal-communication thing. Eventually he tried things like flying, lifting weights, etc. through staring at photos of appropriate animals and rigorously envisioning them in the action of flying, lifting heavy objects, etc., all to great success.

Eventually he had met his first fellow superpowered individual, Brianna. Jamal was flying through the city one day when he saw the young girl holding what seemed to be a map. Only, she was standing at the top of the Bank of America Plaza, the tallest building in Atlanta. She then jumped off of the building, to Jamal's horror. He flew down after her and shouted. She twisted in the air and looked up at him before her body dissipated into a bright and beautiful rainbow of colors. He stopped himself in the air, confused, figuring that maybe he was crazy after all. He flew back home, only to find Brianna in his room.

Alarmed and a bit afraid at first, Jamal awkwardly entered a stance prepared to fight, only to have Brianna laugh at him. In retrospect, entering a battle stance to fight a little girl wasn't the smartest thing he'd ever done. She quickly explained to him that she was just in touch looking at potential university options, which only confused Jamal even further because she was obviously 14 at the most. She then politely requested that he never tell anyone of her abilities, to which he naturally agreed, explaining that he also had abilities as well. Strangely, she had smiled at this, perhaps in relief over the fact that she was not alone. After giving Jamal her contact information, Brianna once again disappeared, with a wave goodbye.

The two communicated with each other on a fairly regular basis and they both caught wind of the existence of superheroes at about the same time. Jamal was immediately drawn to the idea and told Brianna that he would pursue it. He sort of regretted it at first because he considered that she might also wanted to do it as well. And well, despite the fact that she was a university student and had powers of her own, she wasn't even 16 yet. To his relief, she stated that she might consider doing it herself after she graduated and had a stable job. And so, at the age of 19, Jamal became Beast and fought to reduce the crime in Atlanta.

Powers and Abilities: Animal Imitation: Jamal can imitate animal attributes through tapping into a force that connects all animal life in the universe, The Red. This grants him things like
1) Enhanced strength
2) Enhanced speed
3) Enhanced reflexes
4) Enhanced senses
5) Enhanced agility
6) Enhanced durability
7) Flight
and more. He can also communicate with and control non-human animal species.

Weaknesses:
  • Jamal has to be aware of the specific animal he wants to use when he taps into The Red. It isn't that he's technically forbidden from gaining access to an ability if he doesn't have a specific animal in mind, but that in the case that he does, he either gets a random power or it seeks out an ideal ability for the situation at hand, which may take minutes and thus be fatal in the middle of battle.
  • While he can gain access to more than one animal at a time, it requires immense concentration and it exhausts him quicker.

Destructive Capacity: Small building

Speed: It really depends on the animal, as "speed" depends on a number of factors when it comes to animals.
  • Flight: Most preferred form of long distance travel (e.g. from city to city) and is maxed out at around Mach 10.
  • Running: This one varies between long and short distances. At short distances he's about Hypersonic/Mach 5. At long distances he's about supersonic.

Durability: Town

Lifting Strength: Class 50

Striking Strength: Class TJ

Stamina: Superhuman

Standard Equipment: An advanced wristwatch that he uses to keep track of animals and their abilities that was made by Brianna. It's definitely more convenient than carrying around hundreds of books.

Intelligence: Above average (has a B.S. in zoology)

Optional stuff.

Name/Alias: Draco von Dread | Dread | "The Dragon" | "The Mad Magician" | "Mister Magnificent"

Gender: Male

Age: 20

Appearance:
Image
Image
Image

Species: Homo sapiens sapiens

Backstory:
Draco was orphaned at birth - it is unknown what happened to his parents. However, it is implied that they are dead, and Dread does not feel any sort of connection to them. However, the curiosity of what happened to them has taken hold of him in recent months, but that is for later. All they had given him was his name - one he is quite fond of, actually. At birth, he was raised in a relatively well-off orphanage, nothing drastic or horrifying, no, a rather normal childhood. However, within this childhood home, Dread reigned supreme. Without parental attachment, Draco knew hardly a caring touch, and thus began to manipulate other children and even the adults in pursuit of his desires, wants, and hardly ever needs.

This sort of environment built up a powerful mental complex with the young man, who even at early ages displayed advanced maturity and understanding of world views, issues, and interest in scientific arts. Eventually, though, Dread lost his first kingdom by adoption into the foster care system - where he now had actual rivals and competition. However, this challenge proved to be far below the boy as well, as he would quickly dismantle and re-arrange his sheltered home to fit his needs. Though, in this system, he was exposed to the more evil nature of humans - how cruel one could be to another. Beaten and abused in a few homes, Dread would cry for but a moment, and enact a plot of revenge in another.

He was smart, a cunning child with brains and slowly developing his brawn. He was twelve when he finally stood up to an abusive foster father, yet he did it intelligently. The man had his back turned, working on some wooden piece on a jigsaw. A simple push forward eliminated one hand from combat, and a boot to the knee prevented him from escaping. Draco then beat the man within an inch of his life - one or two strikes with a board, never his own hands. He did not gain a single police report - instead, he was sent to a better home instead.

How was he rewarded for such ruthless behavior? Draco had been in contact with the local police, disguised as his foster father's wife, a concerned neighbor, and even an anonymous letter - all pinning the man with instances of sexual assault and molestation. The police had slowly been collecting evidence for an arrest, Dread providing forgeries of past children under the man's care to attest to bad touching and the like. Draco claimed self defense, the man had cornered him, turned the saw on to drown out Dread's own scream. The police would much rather believe a crying child than a swearing old drunk in the end.

Life was smooth sailing from there, Dread was dotted on in his new home, given extravagances, treated as a regular member of the family. He learned of the good side of humanity, that people can be good - in fact, most people were or at least tried to be. Select few were the problem, not all of mankind. Not only that, but Draco learned that people were not against him - they were simply for themselves. This family became akin to his real flesh and blood family, even pushing him into higher education at a young age - the boy flying through grades like nothing. In this home, he discovered his affinity for magic as well, finding an old spell tome his new dad had purchased at a garage sale for laughs. He and Dread took turns mispronouncing the incantations and using bathrobes as wizard outfits.

Dread, however, took an interest in this book of spells, and with his mind, was able to actually process and figure them out rather quickly once his foster father had gone to sleep. Simple spells, nothing mind boggling just yet, but everyone starts somewhere. Dread just happened to start in his kitchen after dark. Slowly, he was able to uncover even more spells at a quickly increasing rate, and his parents supported the boy's interest and hobby, Dread showing them the item he wanted online and the parents getting them for him on a birthday or christmas, or just as a random present. Dread also began to research at his public library, scour the internet, deep web pagelinks and the like, gaining and memorizing an impressive repetoir of spells, magics, and general incantations by the time he was ready to move out.

Leaving home at eighteen, Dread possessed some college education, but relented to pursue his magical career instead. Turning himself into a pseudo-hero, Dread was inspired by Victor von Doom, yet Draco was gifted with far for magical potential than technological pursuits - not to say that he was inept in that field, however. Eventually, though, Draco began to forge his own path that more and more resembled the acts of one who does what they prefer rather than for the general good. He became an anti-villain, desiring heroic goals and plans, but pursuing them with ruthless intent. In short, he is a complex, heroic villain, meant to push the boundaries of what it means to do good and to do right, and how the two can be worlds apart.

Powers and Abilities:
  • Supernatural Intelligence: The greatest weapon in Draco's arsenal is his incredible, remarkable intellect. Beyond standard, human measure, Draco would be ranked as a 12th Level Intelligence if were not for his downplaying and suppression of such abilities from foreign aggressors. REgardless, this trait grants him an Indomitable Will and a superb sense of strategy, thus granting him the power of Tactical Analysis. Dread uses this ability beyond all others, planning and calculating at all times - for any situation, good or bad. He is perhaps the smartest man on Earth.
  • Adaptive Magic: Were it not for his intellect, Dread's magical affinity would be his next greatest asset. The origin of his powers are unknown in this regard, yet Dread uses it to an exceptional extent - perhaps with use of his powerful mind, Draco is able to assess and recreate magical phenomena he has witness or read to an expert extent - a shocking development in the world of magic. He uses this power to mask his true mental abilities, as it would be fitting for one to assume he is a simple mage or warlock than a true chessmaster. Due to this power's nature, it is extremely hard to pinpoint exactly what he can do - as in a literal sense, he can, given enough time, do it all.

  • Magical Power Suit: A sub-power of his magical affinity, Dread has seen it fit to create a powerful suit in order to mask his identity and provide him with an edge in combat against more powerful opponents and to act as a conduit for his magic powers. The suit itself is forged by dark means toward a good end, and to Dread, only serves it's use as protection. The suit grants him telekinetic powers and force fields, mostly through his own magic, as well as further augmenting his condition.

  • Supernatural Condition: Dread has developed a magical, spiritual, and physical system of what he describes as "enlightenment of the body", or "The Hercules Method". This system involves mediation and concentration, a well as a complex series of exercises that transformed him from a scrawny physique into a massive mountain of muscle. This also grants a healing factor and accelerated probability on top of his strength, speed, and stamina. He is powerful enough to rip apart other people with his bare hands, durable enough to withstand being shot, and fast enough to dodge said bullets.

Weaknesses:
  • It is possible to outplan, outthink, and outmaneuver The Dragon, though it is uncommon and he may manipulate the result in his favor regardless.
  • Beyond his suit, he is just a normal, peak human man who can cast some nifty spells.
  • Despite having supernatural condition, a bullet to the head is a pretty glaring weakness.
  • Beings immune to magic are most likely the bane of his existence in physical terms - he would most likely attempt to outsmart them regardless.
  • Better magicians can probably school him as well - that's not to say that Dread will not gain their powers eventually.
  • His armor is metallic in nature, and thus, can conduct electricity and be subject to magnetism despite it's magical properties.

Destructive Capacity: Small Building Level (With Suit) | Wall/Tree (Without)

Speed: 100m/s (Suit) | 10m/s (Without)

Durability: City Block Level (Suit) | Small Building Level (Without)

Lifting Strength: Class 50 (Suit) | Peak Human (Without)

Striking Strength: Class MJ (Suit) | Class KJ (Without)

Stamina: Olympic Athlete level

Standard Equipment: Power Suit - whatever it tends to hold.

Intelligence: Perhaps the greatest mind on the planet. Draco is leagues above even the most astute of world geniuses, but it serves no purpose to brag about or to fully reveal one's mental machinations. However, he is not above hammy speeches on why he has won, for instance.

Optional Stuff.

Theme Song: "Dread respects none."

Alright I pretty much got my character all figured out. We weren't very ethnically diverse last time around so I'll go ahead and fulfill the quota up front. :p

Kilian is half Hispanic... :P Like me...

And we had aliens out the wazoo!

Technicalities! :p

But yeah if we go that route Ayesha counted as well, since she was technically of Pakistani descent...with a bunch of aliens mixed in there.

Well. Jedi's characters were Asian. Aliens or no, they still look Asian. Kilian's wife and child were not even human.

Daud's wife was Kryptonian.

There were a number of Saiyans which I am counting as Asian.

We were pretty diverse. Maybe lacking a bit in the lady department a bit but we were pretty out there.

I explained previously that Daud was of Palestinian and Greek descent - his father being from Palestine and his mother's family from Greece. But that's in the past!

My Dr. Doom ripoff is coming along just fine.

Beings immune to magic are most likely the bane of his existence in physical terms - he would most likely attempt to outsmart them regardless.

Just wait until Killian figures out how to mimic the molecular structure of Nth Metal! Daud will be flaccid!

Hmm, I'll consider about creating new characters or having Asumar and Kazuko be friends, but damn was I going to Introduce Darth Antioch, but since he would be a Sith Pureblood, I won't apply as him.

I am going to mix Kyle Vannis with a backstory of being one of the member of Court of Owls. Is it fine?

Court of Owls is a damn good story arc, I would love to see that integrated into the RP. Too bad you just missed Atria by a couple of minutes. :p

This is a totally new guy, Daud ain't herr - it is time for Draco von Dread!

But hey, we all need weaknesses, right?! A magical-based dude's weakness would def be someone who is like "fuck magic, nigga"

As long as it fits, it'll work out in the end!

Temp! You're back! Wooo! <3

I may make a lady character for once, I haven't in forever. Someone to be the complete antithesis of Draco.
