Optional RP Prompts
As a disclaimer, there is no rule that you must follow RP prompts. You can edit, diverge from, or completely ignore the prompt. There is no bonus for responding to the RP prompt, nor is there a penalty for ignoring the RP prompt.

Pre-MD1 Prompt:
Your nation and its fans are arriving in Banija for the Cup of Harmony. What is the mood among the fandom and the team for this Cup of Harmony? Are they disappointed to be here- believing they should be in Eastfield Lodge & Pasarga instead? Are they excited to be here, after a strong World Cup Qualifying campaign, to have another opportunity to earn a WCC trophy? Or is this the clear consolation prize, and are just going through the motions? Is there a mixture of feelings? Give us all of the fun details!

Pre-MD2 Prompt: Tell me a little bit about your nation's first leader. The definition of that is up to you- if there are multiple options for that slot, due to historical changes with your nation, give me all of them! Tell all of us their job title, how they became the leader, and what their legacy is in your country to this day- does history smile upon them, or do your history teachers talk about them with shame? Or, is it not so cut and dry- is that leader's legacy harshly debated within your country, lionized by some while demonized by others?

If your nation's current leader is your first leader, you can replace the second part of the prompt with how they hope to be remembered!

Lastly, if your nation does not have a leader(or has never had one), tell us how that came to be! Why don't they, and how are ambitious beings prevented from taking power?

Pre-MD3 Prompt:Back to a football prompt! Tell me a little bit about your national stadium. If you have one, why is your current national stadium the choice as the national stadium? Is there anything special about it? Or the site it is on? Is it your country's largest stadium? Give me all the deets!

Pre-MD4 Prompt: Back towards a nationbuilding prompt. Tell me about your nation's miltiary, and/or the history of war involving your nation. Is your nation's military large? Is it small? Is it considered a prestigious career path to join the military, or are soldiers looked down upon? How does your nation treat veterans- are they revered and also financially supported, or do people look at it like a normal career? Anything and everything military related, let the people know!

As for the history of war, fairly self-explanatory. Has your nation fought in any wars? Maybe civil wars or revolutionary wars on your current territory before your nation was founded? How do people talk about those wars these days- an exercise in glory, in hushed tones due to shame, or just nobody talks about them?

Maybe your nation has not fought in any wars, nor does it have a miltiary. How has your nation managed to stay peaceful for all this time?

Pre-MD5 Prompt: Back towards a nationbuilding prompt. Tell me about organized crime in your country. In what forms does it exist, if any? Is there any sort of mafia-style organization in your country, either nationwide or concentrated within a particular region and/or locality, that exists? Or, of course- even a transnational org. If so, what form does it currently exist, and are the leaders publicly known? If so, who are they? Why does the org exist- is it to perpetuate money and power, or are they politically motivated? Is there synergy between the crime syndicate and the state?

If organized crime generally doesn't exist in your country at this moment, Is there a history of organized crime in your country that has now been stamped out? If so, the above Qs apply, with the additional question of how was it stamped out?

Maybe organized crime exists, or has existed, in your nation but not quite mafia-style. If so, the above Qs apply, with the additional question of what was the structure?

If organized crime of any sort does not exist in your nation, and has never existed in your nation, the question is- how has your nation prevented the rise of organized crime? The rest of us are taking notes!

National Information

The Kingdom of Banija is a country that classifies itself as a semi-constitutional monarchy. A nation that is a member of Arrosia, it is led by the Kabaka(which translates to King), and the current monarch is Kabaka Mwanga. The Kabaka, alongside with the Waziri(translates to Foreign Minister), whom he picks and dismisses solely at his pleasure, is the Head of State and responsible for the country's foreign affairs. Upon reaching age 25, the Isebantu(Crown Prince), becomes the Waziri by constitutional right. The current Isebantu is Isebantu Mutungi. The full list of members of the Royal Family can be found here.

Kabaka Mwanga ascended into power after the assassination of his father, Kabaka Albert III during World Cup 82 Qualifying. This is, of course, a government with an elected element. The elected unicameral legislature is the Lukiiko(Parliament), and the Lukiiko is responsible for governance of domestic affairs. The Katikkiro(Prime Minister) is elected by the Lukiiko. After over a decade of rule by the left, this traditionally conservative nation has shown its true colors again by electing a government led by the center-right People's Protection Movement, in coalition with the Latter-Day Alliance. The Katikkiro is Boaz Gor, who is currently serving in his first term as Head of Government. The established church is the Puritan Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, most commonly known as Puritan Mormonism. Well over 90% of Banijans identify as adherents to the state church, though freedom of religion is generally respected by the law and the populace. There is very little patience and open disdain, however, for atheism among the general populace. Courts are sometimes known not to enforce freedom of religion laws when it comes to those preaching atheism, which is considered an 'evil' view by many Banijans.

Due to the massive influence of Puritan Mormonism in this nation, they are relatively socially conservative. Abortion in this country is outlawed unless the mother's life is in danger, and polygamy for males is legal. The church's Universal Call to Motherhood, which teaches that the destiny of each and every woman is to give birth to children and raise faithful Puritan Mormons, has heavily shaped the nation's view on the role of women in society, forming the basis for Banija's prior sports gender segregation laws in the first place. Consumption of alcohol and the recreational use of marijuana in Banija is legal. Due to Mormon tradition, however, the purchase/sale of coffee products is illegal within Banija- however, the consumption is not. Fans and teams are allowed to bring in their own coffee products as long as they are declared at customs, where it is then taxed per pound. Any attempt or effort to sell the product, however, can and will result in arrest.

Most people in the country speak both Olusanke, the local dialect, and English. There is a smattering of both Korean and French spoken within the country, thanks to Banija's Quebecois roots. Banija's currency is the shilling. The exchange rate to the NationStates Dollar is 100 shillings to 1 NSD. Conversion kiosks will be available at all hotels and at airports to exchange your money, as well as any banks. However, using the NSDs directly to purchase items is only guaranteed at stadiums and hotels- vendors outside of stadiums or hotels are not required to accept NationStates Dollars. Fans are also advised that street vendors will only take cash, according to Banijan law- as an issue of security to prevent against credit card theft.

Of course, Banija was for a long time known as a developing country and more of a backwater Economically. However, due to a recent discovery of large oil deposits in Hangaza during World Cup 82, the country has been engaged in an economic miracle since then, with the country almost reaching true developed country status. Public transit within cities is via the boda boda, though each team/delegation will have passenger busses provided by the RTC to transport players, coaches, staff, family, etc... To and from the hotel to the games and practices. The climate of Banija has a lot of natural rainforest and jungle, which means that there is no winter, only wet season and dry season. Temperatures generally range at their coldest around 60 degrees Fahrenheit, and at their hottest around 110 degrees Fahrenheit. For the duration of the tournament, average high temperatures will range from 60 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit.

Banijans have a tendency of being relaxed about time. While, of course, things like flights and matches will run on time, this is something that is observed generally, especially at restaurants. It is considered standard to arrive about 15-20 minutes late for a restaurant reservation, which is something Banijan authorities would like to make note of for travelling fans and visitors to the country for this tournament. This is very true for hangouts with Banijans, dates, weddings, etc... Within the country.

The largest international airports within Banija are South Moravica/Istria International(called SMI International), Jinja City International, and Busukuma International. These serve the country's two largest cities, and the nation's capitol. All teams and dignitaries, upon their arrival to Banija, will fly into Gonzaga International Airport in Busukuma before reaching their final destination. Gonzaga International has long been known as the 'VIP' airport, catering to the royals, high-ranking government officials, and those deemed of special importance by the Government of the day. Most flights will go to one of those three airports before flying to the host city.

In terms of food, Banijans are very heavy meat eaters, and you'll find plenty of chicken, goat meat, beef, pork, and turkey options on your localized menus. In terms of non-meats, popular staple foods are jollof, matoke, Chapati, a rolex, and samosas. Strictly vegan restaurants within the country, outside of Istria and Busukuma, are almost non-existent, though of course you'll find non-meat options everywhere.

Per the latest Census, the national population of Banija is 133 million.

Banija is also well-known for having extensive wildlife. It has Arrosia's biggest population of the 'Big 5' game animals- lions, buffalo, leopards, rhinos, and elephants. It also has the region's largest population of hippos, zebra, and antelope. These animals can be found extrensively throughout safaris and savannahs in rural Banija. Banija is known for not only having the biggest populations of those animals in the region- but arguably some of the biggest wildest populations of those animals in the entire multiverse, although of course that is unverifiable. Furthermore, Banija is known for being the only country, to our knowledge, that has a wild, native, and healthy triceratops population- the only living dinosaur species in the country. These are found primarily in Bunyoro and Buganda.

Locations

While Banija is not in the tournament, this is a sports-mad country, and there is plenty of passsion for association football/soccer. Most Banijans refer to the sport as soccer, although you will certainly see plenty refer to the sport as football. With cheaper ticket prices considering the NT is playing elsewhere, expect locals to eat up tickets that aren't used by fans.

Furthermore, there is a big tailgating culture in Banija, so expect a general party atmosphere before games.

Also, MD# group # Match # is the listed match within the Matchday (aka MD5 Group 1 Match 1 is the first listed match of Group 1 for that Matchday) whereas Group # Matchday # means all of the group's games for that matchday are being played at that stadium (aka Group 1 Matchday 1 means all of the Group 1 matches on Matchday 1 are beng played at B&B Grocers Field).

Istria, Moravica
Banija's largest port and largest city by population, this is in the Moravica region, in Northwestern Banija. It is a city of 4,728,000 people, and it is known as Banija's economic capitol. It is largely considered Banija's most diverse city. Historically, this city served as the second capitol city of the Kasanke Tribe, the historical predecessors of the modern Banijan nation. It is one of two Banijan cities with a major foreign population- the other being the nation's capitol, Busukuma. It has risen in status since its designation as an Olympic City, having co-hosted the XIV Summer Olympiad with Orean, Liventia. Nearly a third of the city holds citizenship of a country other than Banijan. More of those come from the Royal Kingdom of Quebec or the Busoga Islands, but people come from all over Arrosia and the rest of the multiverse. It is also known as Banija's wealthiest city and primary economic hub. It is home to Banija's oldest university, the University of Loyola-Istria, and to the country's biggest airport. It is also home to the Regional Transit Corporation, as well as the Istria Stock Exchange.

Two seperate stadia shall be used from this city.

Kabonero III Field

The first stadium in Istria is Kabonero III Field, with a capacity of 48,000. The stadium is named after Kabonero III, the monarch who united the country's modern day territory under his rule, and the first to rule the country with the name Banija. There was controversy when Banija last hosted the Cup of Harmony as this stadium was not selected to host matches in that, due to a failure between the RBSA and Istria City FC, the stadium's operators, to reach an agreement on revenue splitting. This has been resolved for this Cup of Harmony, however, as it will host games throughout this tournament. It is a stadium with a big game hosting pedigree having hosted games at multiple AOCAFs, during the Olympics, DBC 55, and twice during the World Cup itself- hosting games during World Cup 81 and World Cup 83.

Istria Olympic Stadium

The second stadium being used in Istria is the Istria Olympic Stadium, with a capacity of 80,000. Per implication by the stadium name, this was the designated main stadium on the Istria side for the XIV Summer Olympiad, purpose built for said event. The stadium played host to the Olympic track and field events, as well as select games in both association and gridiron football, including the medal matches in both sports. It also serves as the primary home venue for the Istria Black Mambas, one of the city's two professional gridiron teams. It hosted matches at AOCAF LXII and BoF 76, as well as games during the 4th and 5th Brevity Challenge Cups.

Herzegovina City, Moravica
Banija's oldest city, the city by its current name is over 800 years old, when it was first conquered by the Kasanke people. It is a city with a population of over 2.9 million people. It is the heart of the Puritan Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The national religion was started in this city, and the church's world headquarters, the Herzegovina Temple, is the multiverse's largest Puritan Mormon church. The Bishop of this church, formally titled the Patriarch of Herzegovina, is the most senior member of the church, and the joint head of the global church, alongside His Majesty, the Kabaka. It is home to Banija's largest university, Northern Moravica University. It served as the seat of government for the Kasanke Tribe. It is also the capitol city of the Moravica region. As the original home of the predecessors of the Banijan monarchs, all reigning monarchs are buried on the grounds of the Herzegovina Temple.

Herzegovina City had their own airport finally open just prior to World Cup 83. It is not the largest airport, and much traffic is still directed through Istria. Still, it has permanent international status, and is a city looking to continuously place themselves on the map.

Star Field

The stadium in Herzegovina City is Star Field, and it has a seating capacity of 70,000. This stadium was, of course, a shoe-in to host games- when you consider capacity, ease of transportation, and size of the city, it was a no brainer. The stadium is home to Herzegovina City FC, easily Banija's biggest club. The stadium has long hosted major events, including two World Cup Quarterfinals and a pair of AOCAF Quarterfinals.

Mynda, Aksum
Mynda is the country's 11th largest city, with an urban population of about 1.1 million, and it is the largest city in the Aksum region. It has very few, truly metropolitan expansion in terms of suburbs beyond the city limits, and therefore, does not have a top 10 metropolitan area in terms of population. This being the center of what is otherwise a very rural region, it will provide fans with plenty of chances to experience nature- safaris and nature preserves galore throughout the Aksum Region.

Kawesa Stadium

Kawesa Stadium has a capacity of 47,000 for the tournament. Kawesa Stadium is the home to TK Korp Mynda, one of Banija's 10 S-FPL clubs. The club was formerly known as Mynda Electra for two decades before the Damukuni company sold it to TK Korp, a Tumbran corporation- and known as Mynda Sporting Club before that. They've eliminated the corporate name of the stadium, earning some popularity with the fans for reverting back to its original name of Kawesa Stadium, named after Suntu Kawesa, a famed local footballer during Banija's colonial period (and ergo who's career predates the history of this club).

Busukuma, National Capitol Region
This is the nation's capitol, located on the country's Southern coastline. Puritan Mormons believe that their God told the-then chief of the Kasanke, Kabonero III, that he should conquer all of the land that is currently Banija, gave the country it's name(therefore killing the name of the Kasanke nation), and put the capitol in the South. He did it, made Busukuma the capitol, and declared himself Banija's first Maharaja, or Emperor. As the nation's capitol for over 400 years, the city has been the spot for many major events in Banijan history, and the seat of plenty of foreign embassies, a large foreign population, and Banija's first airport.

The city, of course, is known for having two airports- the public, international airport, called Busukuma International, and also the non-public airport, named Gonzaga International Airport- reserved for the royal family and their guests, elected national politicians, foreign diplomats, and the point of entry for high-ranking officials to avoid the general public. Heads of State/Government, Foreign Ministers, WCC officials, host committee members, and national teams, upon their first arrival into Banija, will fly into Gonzaga International.

Stadium of the Restoration

The national stadium, the Stadium of the Restoration, sits 91,835. It is the country's largest soccer stadium, and, of course, it is the national stadium. On the stadium's site, in 1835, the Banijan monarchy was restored at this site in Banija's first declaration of independence from the Royal Kingdom of Quebec. When the RBSA was formed, it was the obvious site to build the national stadium. The original facility sat 69,000, and was then, as it is now, Banija's largest soccer stadium. It was home to the Banijan national soccer and gridiron teams, and hosted plenty of international tournaments, including the Finals of a UICA Globe Cup, World Bowl and a Baptism of Fire. However, the ageing facility needed to be rebuilt so that one could fit the WCC's 80,000 seater minimum requirement to host a World Cup opening match, as required when the country co-hosted World Cup 81.

The bid from AEP, an architectural firm from Siovanija & Teusland, won the bid to build a new Stadium of the Restoration on the same site in time for World Cup 81. The brand new stadium's capacity, according to the bid, is a nod to Banija's history, of the year that made the site famous in 1835. It has a retractable natural grass surface, used for soccer, and a retractable articifial turf surface, used for gridiron football and during ceremonies like coronations. There are no gaps between the stands, while the South Stand is a single tier, designed to amplify crowd noise. The stadium contains 35 suites, 1 of which is always reserved for RBSA executives, and the second always received for His Majesty, the Kabaka.

Since the rebuild, of course, it hosted both the opening match and one of the semifinals of both World Cup 81 and World Cup 83, The final of both AOCAF LVIII and LXII, the Baptism of Fire 76 Final, as well as both a UICA Globe Cup(now known as the IFCF Challenger's Cup) and a IFCF Champions League Final.

Sisonke, Kitara
Sisonke, Kitara, is the capitol city in the fast growing Kitara Region of Banija. With a population around 1.2 million and growing rapidly, it is a city that is trying to make a name for itself. Just about an hour south of Istria, it is considered a 'new age' city- rapid population growth in recent years makes it a great hub for single young professionals in Banija. Its rapid rise to prominence in Banija means that it is more regularly being selected to host games at major tournaments, and the excitement is palpable. It is most well known for being home to former IFCF Champions League winners, the Kitara Athletic Association.

Keystone Stadium

Keystone Stadium(cap. 47,000) is the home of Kitara Athletic Association, the professional sporting club that has had a rapid rise alongside the city of Sisonke. Always traditionally considered one of the 'best of the rest' clubs, they thought they briefly shed that title when they had a two year span that was the best in club history, and some of the best we've ever seen. They stunned the world by storming up the S-FPL table to win the league, and then beyond that- went out there and won the entire IFCF Champions League the very next season. That is now getting in the fairly distant past, as they are part of the 'best of the rest' club- but no matter, the only S-FPL team with a Champions League trophy is going to sing about it until another club earns that trophy. The only team on either side of the Shango-Fogoa Basin to do so, to date. The stadium is sponsored by Keystone Bank of Eura.

Jinja City, Hangaza
This city of 3.3 million people is Banija's largest inland city, and the third largest city in the entire country, in terms of population. This city is the economic center of the Hangaza region, even if its political capitol lies towards the East, in Aissa. Despite being an inland city, it is rapidly diversifying- with migrant groups from across Arrosia, that want a cheaper cost-of-living than the traditional migrant hubs along the Banijan coastline, are moving here in bigger numbers.

Historically, the city is known for being the spiritual home of one of Banija's minority ethnic groups- the Akamba. It is also sight of the first battle of the Kasanke conquest, when they moved from the Moravican coast to take over the entirety of what is now Banija. The city is named after Banija's biggest river, the Jinja River.

Stadium- BCEL Stadium

This stadium has a capacity of 52,400. Sponsored by the soft drink company BCEL from Baker Park. It was built to attract matches for BoF 67, and is considered one of Banija's premier stadiums. It is home to Banijan club Jinja City FC, one of Banija's Super 5 clubs. The stadium has consistently been known to host major matches at international tournaments.

Aissa, Hangaza
This city of 1.6 million is one that is rapidly growing, and finding itself on the map. The regional capitol of Hangaza is situated on Banija's eastern border with Geisenfried, and is quickly becoming one of Banija's largest cities. It's kind of a counter-cultural city. Known for its strong Yue minority community, it is also known for having a big autoracing community- both things that are quite obviously rare within the Kingdom. But like the rest of this country, it's a sports mad town- and one obviously where this sport dominates.

Despite all that, Aissa is the closest thing that Banija has to a true 'hipster' community. If you want to be counter-cultural, this is the place to be.

Stadium- Hangaza Unified Stadium

This is stadium is not that new, but has a capacity of 55,000. It is the largest stadium for a Banijan team that is not in the top flight. While Aissa United regularly fill the stadium, tehri high attendance and strong fan support doesn't generally translate towards on-field success. Even though it's not that large of a city, the stadium has always been an excellent piece of infrastructure, right on the outskirts of the regional capitol.

Dodoma, Bunyoro
The Bunyoro Region is now primarily seen as a basketball region, as basketball is the region's highest rated sport in terms of attendance, youth participation, and TV ratings. Still, this being a sports mad country, soccer is still very popular here, even if it's been years since the region has had a team in Banija's top flight. That team is Bunyoro RSC- more internationally known for their lacrosse success than soccer, who play in Dodoma, a city with just over 1.2 million people. Locals joke that while in the rest of Banija, there is dry season and wet season, in Bunyoro, there is wet and wetter season- it has some of the highest rates of rainfall in all of Arrosia.

Albert III Memorial Stadium

This was built for World Cup 81 under a different name, Paa Nuepe, and is currently used by Bunyoro RSC. However, after the assassination of the current Kabaka's father, Kabaka Albert III, during World Cup 82 Qualifying, this stadium was named after him. It has featured in numerous tournaments, with World Cup 81 obviously being the most famous. When Banija won Eagle's Cup VIII, however, this stadium would be renamed again, and designated the country's official Eagle's Club venue. With a stadium capacity of 48,600, and with revolutionary field drainage technology, thoughtful considering the amount of rain that this region gets, this will be some of Banijan engineering technology on full display. Due to the unique structure of the roof, the sound is made to go down onto the ground, and when it is full, it is considered one of the loudest venues in the country. Now of course, considering the pitiful state of Bunyoro RSC, this stadium is rarely full, but what if...

With the destruction of the Eagles Club following the Vilitan cheating scandal, this stadium has reverted back to its second name- the Albert III Memorial Stadium. Since this used to be the country's official Eagle's Club venue, a number of amenities have been added for luxury suite holders. For those in luxury boxes, there is access to a 'VIP Club', formerly known as the 'Eagles Club'. which hosts a fancy exclusive bar, a workout room, and even an indoor pool(that is not open on Matchday). FA executives for teams playing at this stadium will get access to those amenities.

Umbazi, Buganda
When it came to finding the 10th venue, there was harsh debate. The obvious choice, of course, was Hoima, Banija's 5th largest city, with a population of over 2.5 million people. But when negotiations between the Hoima Warriors and the RBSA fell through about stadium usage, revenue split, and other organizational issues, the RBSA was forced to have a public tender as they searched for a 10th stadium. All sorts of cities put their names forward- but with the RBSA looking for some geographic balance, not all cities that wanted to be considered were.

It came down to Busembe and Umbazi. And, low and behold- the Cup of Harmony is returning to central Banija, in Umbazi. Somehow, this city is the 12th largest in Banija, with a population of just a hair over a million people. It is the largest city of Buganda, the expansive region located at the center of the country, best known for its mostly rural population, and its biodiversity. In particular, Buganda holds a vast majority of the country's triceratops population, thought to be the only set of wild triceratops in all of Arrosia. Buganda and Hangaza form what it is known as the 'Safari Belt', where the vast majority of the Big animals Banija are known for (the Big 5 game animals plus hippos, antelopes, zebra, and triceratops) are found.

Stadium: B&B Grocers Field
Capacity of 44,000

This stadium was built brand new to replace the Buganda Regional Stadium, as the new stadium of Umbazi Metropolitan Sporting Club, and purpose built for this tournament. This brand new stadium is much larger than its predecessor stadium. A risky venture considering where Umbazi is in the table (middling in the second tier, with no real prospects of promotion back to the S-FPL), the owners are 'ecstatic' about this, and hope that this can ensure that this is a stadium, and a city, that cannot be ignored in future bids to host international tournaments.

B&B Grocers, the corporate sponsor, is a supermarket chain that is co-owned by the regional governments of Buganda and Bunyoro. It is controversial as many claim it is basically a state sponsored monopoly in both regions- but, as both regions are swing regions politically, nobody really bothers to challenge their monopoly.

The Valentian International Football Association – Despite all my rage, I’m still just a cat in a race.

Image

I know this is going to happen sooner or later. Although, it’s a silver lining, if I am being honest! It’s not that I did not have hope on my team, but I knew that Valentine Z is not going to do so well with those heavy hitters in group, and well, that was expected as we get knocked out. But! Don’t lose hope, for we are able to get into the 89th Cup of Harmony. I know I said this a lot, but maybe here that we can finally get something going on and to perhaps even attempt a win. We got pretty far last time, so why can’t we do it again? We can! We just need to have a little bit of that hope, haha! To go beyond the qualifications, and to show the world that the Kittens can reach that nice trophy!

KENSINGTON TOWN SOCCER CLUB
Image

Full Nation Name: Hapilopper Overseas Territories: Dominion Anaia Maritime Neighborhood
Trigramme: HAA
Nickname: Officially: The Dogs; Unofficially: The Beer Leaguers, the HapAnaians
Team Colors: Red, Black and White

Info:
Who would have picked the team from HOT-DAMN, the team of beer leaguers, to finish 4th in their group, only trailing Mainline Hapilopper, Kelssek and Mytanija, and beating a team like Indusse? Either way, the beer leaguers from Kensington Town Soccer Club shocked the multiverse with their surprisingly lucid (and sober) style of footballing, and are now on their way to Banija to compete in the Cup of Harmony. Currently, their strong performance has inspired the construction of an overseas outpost in Anaia. That outpost, called the "Hapiloppian Overseas Territories: Dominion Anaia Maritime Neighborhood" or "HOT-DAMN" for short, was approved by the Hapiloppian Parliament not long after the CAFA ended, and some Hapiloppians traveled over to Anaia to get the outpost started. While the outpost is currently under construction, the team will temporarily play its home games in Buckridge's Raceway Park. A 20,000 seat park is being constructed as part of the outpost, as well as an exact replica of Laughing Dog Bar and Grill, where Kensington Town calls home.

COACHING STAFF:
HEAD COACH/DIRECTOR: James Eaton
Jimmy Eaton, the director of Kensington Town Soccer Club and owner of Laughing Dog Bar and Grill, is disappointed. He was hoping he could have met his old friend Rodney Walters, his best friend in high school and college, and relived old times when they got thrown out of college bars for drinking way too much and for being much, much too loud when comparing football tactics. Jimmy was hoping he and Rodney would have remembered the time they pissed off a bartender something fierce when loudly singing the praises of the 4-4-2 formation to his face. All the bartender wanted to do was converse with the beautiful woman sitting next to them and pour her another beverage. Instead, he got some real deep talk about the tactics of football formations. Either way, Eaton is hopeful that by traveling the world, they can find some great food, drink and friends that they can share their stories with.

ASSISTANT COACH: Tyler Swanson

#60 - ZEKE MOORE | Goalkeeper | Age: 34 | Kicks: Right
Physicality: Low | Random Fact: Local scotch whiskey expert at the bar | On-Field Personality: Relaxed

The two goalkeepers on the Kensington Town squad are perhaps the most intellectual of the bunch.
Jim Dash, a financial planner for a major accounting firm back home, has won the last 16 trivia nights at the local bar in a row, even in spite of Triviamaster Dave Boyd's attempts to make things more difficult by bringing in much more obscure and esoteric topics such as "Parliamentary Procedures of Rushmori Nations, 1965-1980" and "World Grand Prix Champinship Reject Drivers, Seasons 1-5". Turns out Dash knows those like the back of his hand.

Zeke Moore, meanwhile, is the go-to when it comes to different scotch whiskies - even being able to tell the difference between the barrels that the whiskies were aged in. So even the bartenders at the local bar come up to him and ask what's the difference between one bottle of scotch or the other. Away from the bar and the pitch, Zeke has made that passion into his occupation, working as a salesman for a local whiskey company.

#2 - RANDY RUSSELL | Fullback | Age: 29 | Kicks: Right
Physicality: High | Random Fact: Banned from selecting songs at the jukebox | On-Field Personality: Asshole

#3 - JOHNNY CARTER | Fullback | Age: 36 | Kicks: Right
Physicality: Medium | Random Fact: Bored everyone with obscure facts about parliamentary procedure | On-Field Personality: Professional

#4 - BRUCE TATUM | Centerback | Age: 33 | Kicks: Left
Physicality: High | Random Fact: Passed out one night wearing elf ears in a rainstorm | On-Field Personality: Obnoxious

#5 - GAEL HICKS | Centerback | Age: 34 | Kicks: Right
Physicality: Very High | Random Fact: Takes "The Number of Violence" too seriously | On-Field Personality: Asshole
The four starting defensemen on the Kensington Town team have some very interesting - and quirky - tastes.

Randy Russell, for instance, made those quirky tastes well known on a Saturday evening at the bar when he put on some extremely obscene tunes that angered a local church women's group that had come by for lunch. Jimmy Eaton was presented with two choices: Either Randy is not allowed within 20 feet of the jukebox or he gets a lawsuit for obscenity. Away from the field, Russell has been pulled over by police at least 10 times for having his car radio up too loud - and for having some of those real disgusting songs playing at full blast. Several months ago, he appeared on one of those police videos shows real popular in his home country - for playing one of those songs at full blast near a local middle school.

On a Friday night a few months ago, Johnny Carter, seeing a news story involving the local parliament arguing over some piece of obscure-ass legislation involving a city several hundred miles from them. Carter went on a tangent to some of his fellow barflies explaining - in very painfully esoteric terms - why the procedure was not being followed right, why point of order was not being met or whatever, and why - damn it, Joyner, taking the parliamentary mace, wrapping it in barbed wire, setting it on fire and thrashing it over someone's head is grounds to get expelled from parliament permanently, even if it's a "worked" parliamentary mace as you claim it is. Either way, the rest of the barflies were much more interested in Freddy Joyner's implementation of professional wrestling in parliament than what Johnny was saying.

Bruce "Elf Ears" Tatum got his name for a Sunday jaunt in the bar. With heavy rains all over the area, their field was a sloggy, muddy mess and the game between Kensington Town and rival Sharpsburg Rovers was called off. So both teams went to Laughing Dog Bar, had way too much to drink, argued over the NSSCRA race being aired on the televisions, and somewhere, somehow, a pair of elf ears were produced. Bruce Tatum put them on and as he puts it, "that's the last thing I remember." Others in the bar recall him drinking way too much, blowing chunks and getting sent outside, where he passed out in a driving rainstorm.

Gael Hicks became a fan of Hapiloppian football player Nathan Ellis years ago, when, on a whim, he turned on a World Cup 84 qualifying match between Hapilopper and Vdara. It was in that game where Ellis clotheslined Vdaran footballer Alexis Fotellis and made quite an ass out of himself. Since then, Hicks decided that, in his beer league games of his own, he'd do what Ellis did. He started wearing Number Five - which in Hapiloppian football is considered "the number of violence" and he started playing like Ellis. But the thing is, the other teams didn't like it, and neither did local law enforcement, who hilariously arrested Hicks after he tried doing his Nathan Ellis routine on a beer league team consisting of local police officers.

#22 - ELWOOD DAVIS | Fullback | Age: 29 | Kicks: Right
Physicality: Medium | Random Fact: Has appeared on the local news at least 10 times | On-Field Personality: Stupid

#23 - FREDDY JOYNER | Fullback | Age: 31 | Kicks: Left
Physicality: Medium-High | Random Fact: Always asks the bar to put on pro wrestling | On-Field Personality: Patient

#24 - DARRELL HAWKINS | Centerback | Age: 41 | Kicks: Right
Physicality: Medium | Random Fact: Makes a really mean tuna casserole | On-Field Personality: Obnoxious

#25 - EDDIE DEACON | Centerback | Age: 37 | Kicks: Right
Physicality: Medium | Random Fact: Punched a referee to help a friend win a $20 bet | On-Field Personality: Clumsy

The bench defenders are just as quirky as the starting ones, and have become famous within the Kensington area - some for good reasons, and others for reasons you'd rather not think about.

Have you ever turned on the 6 o'clock news and wondered where in the hell the reporters found some of these goobers they talk to? Elwood Davis has jokingly called himself a "professional idiot on the street" for his numerous appearances on the local news - oftentimes being dressed up in a bathrobe and an old baseball hat, giving his take on the exploding gas station across the street or the moron that tried stealing an ambulance on the corner of the road he was on. And every time it happens, Elwood will come back to Laughing Dog that day and get heckled by his fellow barflies for his latest, ludicrous take on the news of the day. It has happened at least 10 times in the last year, even as local news networks seemingly forget who they're talking to.

Freddy Joyner is the resident professional wrestling fanatic of the Laughing Dog crew - to the delight and chagrin of his fellow barflies. Every Monday and Wednesday, he insists on the bar putting on the pro wrestling shows, and he'll go on and on about why this pro wrestling storyline is working and why this pro wrestling executive is a dunderheaded goober because of his insistence on wearing a neck brace in the middle of a professional sports draft. Othertimes, he'll just yell at the TV to tell a pro wrestler to get a table and set it on fire. Joyner has been adored by his fellow barflies for things such as sparing them the boredom of esoteric-ass parliamentary talk, and chastized for attempting to perform pro wrestling maneuvers on them, such as one instance when he offered Anthony Donis $20 "to see what Suplex City is like."

Darrell Hawkins, meanwhile, really enjoys cooking. The only reason he doesn't go behind the bar and make food for his fellow barflies is that there are people employed to make that food and he doesn't want to take away from their livelihood. Instead, he'll go home and make his own food. His favorite dishes include what he calls "Thunderchicken 65" - a spicier version of a Chicken 65 dish - and his own tuna casserole, which he considers his party piece that he'll make for girls he's seeing and for barflies that come over to his place when they need a place to crash.

Eddie Deacon is a complete idiot. He's the kind of guy that does stupid things for money - and we mean, really, REALLY stupid things. Things like breathing fire for a $5 bet, things like blowing up a toilet at Laughing Dog for a $20 bet (something that netted him a six-month ban from the bar when Jimmy Eaton saw the damage) and punching out a referee to help a friend win a bet. Eddie had collided with another player from Green Street Club in the 28th minute of a match - a cynical challenge, maybe a little excessive, but it was there. And when the referee started breaking the two apart, Eddie recalled two of his friends getting into an argument over what would happen if a player punched a referee, and a bet was placed. So Eddie figured he'd resolve the bet and decked the referee. He was given a straight red and a two match suspension. He was lucky Jimmy Eaton didn't stick a boot up his ass afterwards.

MIDFIELDERS
ImageImageImageImage

#6 - ZACK WEBSTER | Left Midfielder | Age: 30 | Kicks: Left
Physicality: Medium | Random Fact: Has an encyclopedic knowledge of television sign-offs | On-Field Personality: Calm

#7 - ANTHONY DONIS | Right Midfielder | Age: 32 | Kicks: Right
Physicality: Medium-Low | Random Fact: Broke his shoulder once when Freddy Joyner suplexed him on the bar | On-Field Personality: Creative

#8 - ROGER GOETZ | Defensive Midfielder | Age: 36 | Kicks: Right
Physicality: High | Random Fact: Local police know him on a first-name basis | On-Field Personality: Stupid

#9 - JIMMY CLIFFORD | Offensive Midfielder | Age: 35 | Kicks: Right
Physicality: Medium | Random Fact: Caused the arcade machine at the bar to explode | On-Field Personality: Clumsy

The midfielders on the Kensington Town squad have gotten themselves into some level of trouble for a variety of reasons.

Zack Webster, for starters, has managed to ruin no less than three dates he has brought to Laughing Dog after his date will inevitably ask him "so, what are you interested in?" Webster will respond, inevitably, with his very encyclopedic - and very boring - knowledge of televion station signoffs from the 1970s and 1980s. Occasionally, one of his fellow barflies will overhear this, bring some of their friends in and when Webster finishes his spiel, they'll chime in by giving their rendition of the most annoying sound in the world. Inevitably, the date has decided she's had enough and walks away - oftentimes before the food even arrives. Webster works at a local TV station in the mornings, so at least his coworkers have that same interest - we hope.

Anthony Donis, meanwhile, has just recently recovered from a shoulder injury that came after Freddy Joyner offered him $20 to see "what Suplex City is like." Donis is obviously a complete idiot because Joyner takes pro wrestling way too seriously. Either way, Donis accepted the offer, Joyner picked him up and gave him a vicious belly-to-back Hapiloppian suplex that slammed him into the bar itself, breaking his shoulder. Donis missed three months of action while Joyner was suspended two matches for "aggravated dipshittery," as Jimmy Eaton put it. The bar at Laughing Dog, meanwhile, was visibly dented from the suplex. Jimmy decided not to have it fixed "to show everyone what kind of morons I have frequenting my establishment."

"God damn it, Roger, you again?" The Kensington Town Police know Roger Goetz a little too well. He's not a violent person and he doesn't do anything too bad. His problem is he tends to stumble home from Laughing Dog a little too often after having a little too many cold ones with his friends. Roger has been arrested no less than five dozen times for public drunkenness and criminal stupidity - including one time when he got sick and blew chunks on a side of a fast food restaurant not far from his apartment. His mugshots have appeared on the walls of Laughing Dog as Kensington Town Police have let Jimmy Eaton know of one of their more overserved customers. Jimmy laughs it off - Roger doesn't get in a car and drive, he doesn't do anything that endangers the health of anyone else or himself, he just enjoys drinking, and he'll walk home instead.

On a Saturday night in the offseason, Jimmy Clifford was playing with the arcade machine near the back of Laughing Dog and was getting a little frustrated with how he was doing. To make matters worse, it seemed like the arcade machine was taunting him for how poorly he was doing. There was a line of people waiting to play on the arcade machine and they were getting frustrated. Finally, Jimmy lost his cool, first screaming bloody murder at this inanimate arcade machine that had mocked him for the last time, then grabbing a sledgehammer that, for some reason, was situated off to the side. Jimmy started whaling away at the arcade machine before eventually, an impact from the sledgehammer caused the arcade machine to blow up, sending shrapnel flying in all directions, causing the fire alarm to go off and leading Jimmy Eaton to explain to firefighters that no, Laughing Dog was not on fire, some dipshit just blew up the arcade machine in a fit of white-hot rage.

#32 - KEN STEWART | Side Midfielder | Age: 33 | Kicks: Left
Physicality: Medium | Random Fact: Dressed up as a Valentian for Halloween but couldn't get through the front door | On-Field Personality: Creative

#33 - RUDY ROYAL | Center Midfielder | Age: 37 | Kicks: Right
Physicality: Low | Random Fact: Blew out his voice singing a soulful pop song like it was thrash metal | On-Field Personality: Relaxed

Kensington Town has two backup midfielders, and by comparison to the starters, don't really do much to get in trouble, but they do have their moments.

This past Halloween, Kenny Stewart, who is 5'10", decided he wanted to dress up like Clarissa Alanis Star from the wonderful world of Valentine Z. This included dying his skin blue and getting stilts so he could appear to be comically large. Unfortunately, Kenny didn't consider the fact that the front door of Laughing Dog didn't take giant Valentians into consideration, nor did he consider his balance when walking on stilts. So as he walked out to Laughing Dog, he realized he couldn't get through the front door, dressed up as Clarissa Alanis Star, and a 5'10" big blue robot just wasn't going to cut it. He tried crawling through the door and failed, before finally giving up. But as he got back up, he slipped a bit and busted his ass as he fell onto the sidewalk, nearly taking out an old lady walking by. For whatever reason, that old lady now has a fear of fat morons dressed up as Valentians.

A few weeks after Kenny Stewart busted his ass, it was karaoke night at Laughing Dog. Rudy Royal, figuring he'd act on a goofball impulse, meandered out to the stage and asked to take a soulful funky pop hit that had just come out. He gave the karaoke operator a mischievious look, looked at the lyrics and started singing it like a thrash metal hit, screaming the lyrics at the top of his lungs. It got everyone's attention and was worth quite a few laughs and a lot of cheers. But the next day when he showed up to his job as an advertising sales rep for the local newspaper, everyone wondered what happened to his voice. Rudy had to explain that, yes, he had blown it out, no, he wasn't watching sports on television, and yes, after a coworker played a video that had been posted to twii.tur, he had blown his voice out doing karaoke.

#10 - CHRIS SPEARS | Striker | Age: 34 | Kicks: Right
Physicality: Low | Random Fact: Once mooned Hapiloppian President William Mathis out of a hotel window | On-Field Personality: Stupid

#11 - CHARLIE DOWNER | Striker | Age: 37 | Kicks: Left
Physicality: Low | Random Fact: Has been banned from three all-you-can-eat buffets | On-Field Personality: Obnoxious

The two starting forwards can score a lot of goals and piss a lot of people off. Sometimes at the same time.

Chris Spears is lucky someone didn't shoot him. While on a weekend visit to Hapilopper City, he spotted a political rally featuring Hapiloppian President William Mathis. Spears, who is apolitical and considers all politicians to be corrupt douchenozzles, opened the window of his 6th floor hotel room, got out a megaphone and shouted "HEY! CHECK THIS OUT!" As Mathis and about 3,000 people turned around looked, Spears pulled down his pants and hung his bare ass out the window. Nobody could restore order as Spears danced his bare ass out the hotel window. Mathis, meanwhile, sensing that people in Hapilopper do this sort of dumb stuff all the time, couldn't help but crack up.

While Chris Spears is mooning heads of state, Charlie Downer is going for his seventh plate at the local all-you-can-eat buffet. Downer has one of the best metabolisms of any footballer, professional or amateur - in the area, and loves to eat lots of food. In the process, he has tested the extent of these restaurants' "all you can eat" policy, and on three occasions, he has shown that "all you can eat" doesn't really mean "literally all you can eat," as managers of these restaurants have come up to him and asked him to please leave because while he's eating all he can eat, they can't keep up with the demand and the demand of other customers.

#41 - MATT HAYWOOD | Striker | Age: 45 | Kicks: Right
Physicality: Low | Random Fact: Banned from renting cars in his home country | On-Field Personality: Clumsy

#42 - TED INGRAM | Striker | Age: 28 | Kicks: Right
Physicality: Low | Random Fact: Hosts a monthly "steak night" at his apartment | On-Field Personality: Professional

The two backup strikers have their own quirks, some good and some really, really stupid.

For the last 20 years, Matthew Haywood has been prohibited from renting cars back home following a well-publicized incident where he, pissed off at a fellow motorist, smashed into his rear bumper. That fellow motorist pulled up alongside him and doorslammed him. So rather than just exchange insurance details, apologize for their misdeeds and move on, these two idiots turned their vehicles into weapons and the highway as their own personal battleground. By the time it was over, Haywood's car was demolished, smoking and may have been on fire. The other guy's car was demolished as well, not to mention the three other people that got caught up in it. Punches were thrown, police got involved and by the time it was over, the rental car agency was even angrier than the guy that Haywood rear-ended.

Ted Ingram is a steakmaster. He and his friends - all of whom have been friends since college - get together once a week on a Friday night, get some steaks, whiskey and cigars and enjoy the evening. They'll get a bad movie from the 80s, watch that and enjoy their steaks. Many of his friends are also regulars at Laughing Dog, and they'll come along for the Sunday games as well, but then question why Ingram doesn't get much playing time. The reality is, Ingram is just as happy sitting on the bench and enjoying himself as he is anything else.[/quote]

KANZLIAN ROSTER FOR CUP OF HARMONY

Nation Name: The Gracious State of Kanzlia

Trigram: KNZ

Demonym: Kanzlian

Nickname: The Exiles

Kanzlia, formally recognised as Gracious Kanzlian State, is an island democratic republic on the far north of Roses Without Thorns. The country is divided into 7 provinces. Its main island, Kalta, consists of nearly 85% of the country's population whilst the smaller island of Farioli makes up the rest. The seat of power in Kanzlia lies on its southernmost and largest port city of Szbedansk. It’s followed by the cities of Kotr, Tergtheim, and Ibsia. The country is well known for the cold.

The Kanzlian National Football Team (Also known as Voetbalvereniging Kanzlia) was founded in 1900 but Kanzlian Football, in its current pyramid, was only finalised in the 1990s. Prior to this, a double league system was utilised. Anyhow, football is by far the most popular sport in Kanzlia with stadiums jam-packed full in every match of the season. Kanzlia with its history of hardships and prolonged periods of misery has resulted in a deep connection between the sport and Kanzlian society. The culture of the sport is one of fiery passion but also with a noticeable aspect of humbleness. A pundit said that Kanzlians are the sorest of losers during the 90 minutes, but once the game ends they switch back to normal often with an optimistic mood regardless of the result.

The Kanzlian National Team went on a record 11-game unbeaten streak in RWOT during the great famine (dubbed the Kanzlian Collapse) in the 1960s whilst being barred to play a game in Kanzlia. Hence how they got the nickname of “The Exiles”.

The VVK plays its official games in the Stadia Szbedansk, a relatively modern 53,280 seater stadium. Friendly games are often played in various stadiums but typically between the 45,000-seater Kotr Stadium and the 32,000-seater Marc Letos Stadium.

Manager: Vassilis v. Coevorden (48)

Preferred Tactic: 4-3-3

Style: +1

Vassilis van Coevorden, the father of the triple Coevordens (Ardentius, Reiner, and Sylverio) has managed the national team for 2 years now. His style of play seeks to create overloads in the opposition box by committing multiple players forward, regardless of opposition. His tempo is quick and always seeking for space to control the games tempo and move the pitch further towards the opposition.

During build-up Vassilis utilise the goalkeeper to help in the transition to pass the ball either to the dropped midfielder or the wingbacks ready to take off and exploit any available space they can get themselves into. During the attack, Vassilis utilise his wingers to invert and run into the box whilst the wingbacks take up the wings. This overload is intended to confuse and disorient the opposition. With this the oppositions half-spaces is left vulnerable to be exploited by the midfielders, and the wingers.

ONES TO WATCH

Jackie Stadt
Vassilis has confirmed that young prodigy Jackie Stadt will take over from stalwart keeper Zaouane Mido. The 24 year old keeper has been in relatively good form for VVS and a regular appearance in the Kanzlian National Team is something he deserves but rarely given a chance to. With Z. Mido's bad form the previous couple of games - Z. Mido and Vassilis van Coevorden has reached an agreement to bring Mido out of the roster for the Cup of Harmony. Giving a pristine opportunity for Jackie Stadt.

Christian Bagheria
The Tergtheim native had a breakout season the season prior. His tall and big physique is enough to scare forwards from challenging him in the air. His long legs allows him to be notorious for tackling faster players from the side. He’s still 22 so several aspects of his game, such as aggressiveness, still needs to be refined. But otherwise Bagheria deserves his sport in the starting lineup because of the indispensible defensive qualities and insurance he brings to the team.

Ardentius van Coevorden
The youngest of the Triple Coevordens, Ardentius in a matter of 3 games managed to claim Don Kaap’s usually secure starting position for 1899 Szbedansk. What makes Ardentius really unique is actually his superb offensive capabilities. Comfortable with the ball, and not shy to dribble past players to bring the ball into the midfield. He often find himself in the opposition box during a counter attack. Not to mention his stamina, its almost as if this kid have backup lungs! Though naturally with a defender finding himself constantly on the other side of the pitch - he needs to improve his game reading and make better decisions.
One other part of his game that stands out is his ability to predict opponents passes. During his debut in the Szbedansk Derby no less, he managed to intercept 7 passes in 20 minutes (including 2 through-balls!). He immediately became a fan favourite as a result and ganed his nickname of “de Onderschepper” or the interceptor. He has since earned a move to Tikariot's Baraldhur.

Evert van Selm
A bright spot in Armada Kotr’s disastrous season, Evert van Selm took upon himself to be the glue of the team. He scans the pitch often and his first touch is simply sublime. He often supports defenders who werent too comfortable with the ball and thanks to his reading of the game was always in a position where he can pass it to someone else. His vigour and passion allows him to remain consistent throughout the season but also throughout the 90 minutes. He runs as often as he does in the first minutes to stoppage time.

Sylverio van Coevorden
Another of the Triple Coevordens. Intially met intense criticism from the media for nepotism due to his inclusion in the national team roster by his father, he silenced his critics almost immediately. In his debut for Kanzlia he provided two assists, and 5 games in his international career he already have 5 goal contributions. He’s one who wouldnt back away from dribbiling past defenders but he always look for an option to pass if that’s the best option. It’s a mindset and game reading you wouldnt expect to find in a 22 year old. Blistering with pace he simply just outruns his man marker and giving him space is near-guaranteed to give him a chance at goal. His flair is also very noticeable, and drew a lot of criticism (from Armada fans) back home when he feinted a pass against Ron Tyke. Ron Tyke would turn so abruptly he tore his ACL and his injury forced him to retire. One part of the game he has to improve on is conserving his energy, Sylverio hasnt made a full 90 minute apperance in his past 10 games he appeared in. A testament to how much passion he plays but also proves that the 22-year-old still has a lot to learn.

After another season of long activities by Restresas, the Squirrels are back and ready for action, wielding this team, very similar to their team that they competed with for both Campeonato Esportiva 38 and Baptism of Fire 84:

Tio Howard Age: 20 Team: Portas Whales

They will play in both Summit Stadium (Mount Heavens, 54,219), and Restresian National Stadium (Maresda, 102,917)[

Tactics:
The Restresians play insanely aggressive, and therefore have the maximum amount of volatility heading into this year's Baptism of Fire, World Cup Qualifying, and Cup of Harmony. If the cards fall right, they could win it all (which is likely considering how well they did in the toughest group in the Campeonato Esportiva) or lose every game in the group stage.
Headlines:
Will Restresian Success continue, despite the new expectations put onto them as a favorite to win the whole competition? Will Indiana Pablo continue to be the showstopper he was in the Campeonato and the most recent Restresian Premier League season? Will the goalkeeping be there for them whenever the team needs it most? And most importantly: Is Restresas ready for competiton outside of their continent?
Roleplay permissions
My opponent, if they roleplay first, may do the following:
Choose my goalscorers: Yes
Godmod scoring events: No
Roleplay injuries to my players: Yes
Godmod injuries to my players: No

About the Manager

Shane Newman is a Baker Park born, who took the chance to become the first NT boss for Havynwilde with an understanding that he would have time & resources to build from scratch. He was hounded by negative media coverage, the unrealisitc expectations of supporters & the governing body, and no investment to correct the dearth of talent in the domestic league. He was unceremoniously fired while out of the country on holiday. He'll consider his time there a learning experience. Was the chief defensive architect for the BPNT in the first three WC cycles.Aged 49 and married with three children--a boy and two girls--he will look to the domestic league for talent by focusing on technique, pace, and positional flexibility.

The Playing XI

#1 Jahangir Shehzad (Goalkeeper)
the twenty two year old goalkeeper Jahangir Shehzad. Who's been always in the bench waiting for their debut match. Jahangir Shehzad is a familiar face to all those who used to follow the Youth football tournaments in Indusse. Jahangir also was a tough contender for Liga Prime's (Indusse's Division One Football League) Golden Gloves. Jahangir was born in the city of Shahzalabad, located seventy six kilometres north of Riveria. He started his career for his school team and then got into the famous college team belonging to Mir Azmal College of Physical Sciences (MACPS). He soon left Jawaruyah for Rockies Islands, it was his perfect defending which let the club rise from Division to to Primary Division tournament Liga Prime. The Team reached top three of the primary division tournament after his arrival and he also received a lot of awards for his play. With his arrival in Liga Prime and as a successor to former Rockies Defender Maryland Bruno (Maryland is his nickname because he used to run a cookie brand called Maryland Food), he got into the radar of National team selectors. Once the best substitute to Baskar Kumar, now he faces a lot of competition from his fellow mates out there.Born to the family of footballers, Bechun didn't face any difficulty to choose his career. At the age of seven, his father admitted him to a local coaching center and with the basic skills got him into the Sindvpore Football Federation Training Center. Bechun's father was Takawilaka Butea, who got elected as the President of Sindvpore Football Federation. Bechun played his first professional match for Sindvpore FC and got transferred into Southbay Riveria FC. He later scored a lot of Goals opening his way to the national camp. He played as a captain substitute and vice captain of the national team and captain of Southbay Riveria FC until Baskar Kumar joined. He also played a major role in the Goblin Humanoid Project which created Goblin Grundjee, who's the first non human national player in Indusse. A football goblin was Bechun's idea. He also got the National Sports Academy Mentor post and is currently the cheif mentor of U-18 national team. His brother, Lalguvasara is the coach of Malta FC and his son Jackson Butea is playing for Sindvpore FC under 18 team.

#11 Antonio Mersiás (Forward)
The second youngest recruit in the camp, Antonio Mersiás is a well known youth idol in the nation. He was the captain of Indussean youth team in the Sporting World Cup. He led the team into the semi finals of the tournament till they lost to Starblaydia's young guns. He was born in Karadawadi, a county in Dhalopura to Francis Antony, who was a carpenter and Selina Francis. He lived as a poor kid going to the village school who wasn't so good at academics but bright in sports. His quality sporting skills caught the eyes of the headmaster there, who admitted him to the local football training sessions. The headmaster soon send him to the Jawal-Biesse the nearest city for his studies. He played for the Jawal-Biesse FC for three years and captained the team until he was called to play for the Dhalopura FC. He got selected to the U-18 team as soon as he played his first match for Dhalopura FC. His quality play in the club also got him promoted as the captain of the youth team. His awesome, historical performance for the youth team got him a quick ticket to the National Team Camp. He is currently an important part of the national team who cannot be replaced easily.

#100 Goblin Grundjee (Forward)
Goblin Grundjee who is the first ever non-human sportsperson from Indusse. The Grundjee's are one of the families of the Goblin species that was created by the scientists by DNA Modelling. The scientists created a new race of Goblins through gene editing and combining the DNAs of Humans with certain animals and Algae. The goblin species were divided into three families were Grundjees are one of the major part. The other two families are called Mithys and Auris. The current members of the grundjee family is Colonel Grundjee who is a Colonel in the royal army of Indusse. The gene of colonel Grundjee was created by merging the genes of three colonels of the army with the genes of a eagle and the green algae. The green algae plays a necessary role in getting the green Color of the skin. The other member is Goblin Grundjee who is currently playing for the juniors. His gene was created by merging the genes of David Bekem, a former football and of a wild horse. The green algae is also a necessary part of the composition. The grundjee family has the green composition of skins due to green algae. Whereas, Mithys has a brownish red skin due to the presence of Blue-green Algae with Iron sediments, Auris family has the skin Color of a normal human as there isn't any presence of algae. The skin textures and patterns of the goblins are same as the humans and the color is the only thing that can discriminate it with humans. The scientific community believe that the goblin race will create revolution in the world of science. The creation of Goblin Grundjee was overseen by fellow player Bechun Butea who also played a major role in bringing Grundjee as a experimental player. Well, Grundjee is currently one of the best strikers the nation has seen.

Home Ground

The Aditya Varma Kulashekara International Stadium, is home to the Flocking Blues and is the largest sports stadium in the nation. The Aditya Varma Kulashekara International Stadium can hold 131,561 spectators in normal cases. The most attendance recorded for an event in the stadium was 148,241 spectators. This historical event happened long before the current stadium had been built. The former stadium known as IFA International Stadium had just a capacity of 108,112 and the event was the Sworn-in of Baskar H Kumar as the first president of the Indusse. In other words, the sworn in was also the same as the nation's independence day. The most spectators for a match was recorded as 118,232 spectators for a match between Indusse and Pratapgadh which was once a derby match.
Image

This Stadium was built first by Aditya Varma Kulashekara, the emperor of Indusse at his reign. The stadium was built as part of giving the Indussean Football Association, a home ground. The Stadium at its beginning had a capacity of 62,122 spectators and was later increased to 97,783. The Stadium also in the past hosted the home matches of Royal Hind City FC (Currently, New Hind City FC) and Hind United FC (Currently dissolved). The Hind United FC got dissolved into Royal Hind City FC and the club through enough funding brought some land near the Darbar Halls and built a stadium there which currently serves as their home ground and the nation's secondary home ground. The IFA Stadium was built close to the Hind River and was surrounded by small forests. The place then known to be Kadaathaaaru was chosen for the stadium, the name literally meant to be "Forest River". The stadium continued to host the nation's home matches until the IFA was disbanded after the invasion of the Islamic Conquerors. The Dari Sultanate rulers took over the nation and placed a ban on all sort of native entertainment including music and sports. The stadium was taken under the custody of the Dari Military and was converted into a arena to propagate Dari Propoganda. The Stadium was renamed as Neimat Abdullah Arena and the capacity was increased to 108,112. The Neimat Abdullah Arena also became the public execution grounds of Natives in Indusse. The Dari Supressed Native Freedom Fighters were beheaded, hanged and shot dead at these grounds. After the Independence, the stadium was renamed as IFA Stadium and held the nation's first independence day celebrations. After a few years, it was renamed to Aditya Varma Kulashekara International Stadium and the capacity was increased to 131,561. The Government then also decided to set up a monument for the natives who were killed by the supression. The Divya Azadi Stambh (Divine Freedom Pillar) located in the stadium complex is the so called monument. This Pillar is an important part of the nation's independence day celebrations.

Kronbia men's national football team

Overview

Football does not have a large fan base and comes in fourth place after basketball, baseball and boxing. Football began to appear on the island at the end of the eighties and continued as a game played in the streets and squares until 1998, when the first football league was established it consists of 5 teams. The number of teams has reached 8 currently. The sport does not find sufficient financial support due to the lack of audience attendance, the lack of sponsors, and the lack of any channels’ interest in broadcasting the matches.

The Cup of Harmony takes place in Banija, but know that for reference any home games of the Green Lions take place in the Kaujas Lauks Stadium in Vilarme, home stadium of local FK. The stadium has 24.000 seats, of which 1.800 are reserved for visiting fans. Those are advised to travel via the Birzina International Airport, from where shuttle buses will be available into the city. The visiting team can make use of the training complex of Vilarme Metalists and the nearby five-star Golden Heron hotel.

The final score for the Oharese in the WCQ was: 5W 3D 8L (33-41). The selection reflects the players that were called up by the end of the qualifying campaign, with a few rotations being done during the campaign. Notice that Andrushenko travels with the team but due to injuries, he will not play. Japaridze and Dombrovskis celebrated their birthday during the qualifiers. There was cake. Yaro Metakvili turns 21 on the 14th of September, so let us hope we last long enough to celebrate in Banija.

"What do you mean, tournament regulations allow for only a single selection?"

Instead of inviting eight different teams to protect the honours of the various Constellation territories, the best and brightest would have to be condensed down into one coherent unit. Inviting just one of the teams to represent the entire Constellation wouldn't go over well.

More players have been chosen from the 'good' teams (Ndugutisaoren, Isidoren), especially if they have gotten good results during the qualifiers (Shahrbanoren (4 points in 2 games), Ostfalen und Hinterpommoren (6 points in 2)), with a few stars from the rest (Bandar Cang Prathoren, 2 draws, Tarören, 2 draws, Uruashoren, 2 draws) while the influence from the eighth team, the mysterious Chanmingoren (2 losses), isn't much.

It's a wonderful clash of styles: the dignified smugness of Ndugutisaoren despite recording some awful results in the qualifiers; the annoying pragmaticism of Isidoren and their good results will clash, first of all. Sprinkle in the unexpected upsides from a mature Shahrbanoren squad, with much needed professionalism from Ostfalen und Hinterpommoren. Players from Bandar Cang Prathoren already know how to play through cultural difference. Mixing in the best of Tarören will be difficult as they're used to doing things their way, and the limited interaction between Uruashoren and the rest of the Constellation might also pose some problems.

GK Ebelina (F) Samper (ISID, 28) - CF Sant Eleuterio
GK Anton (M) Dornsperger (OFHP, 33) - Katzenbüttel am Zwölfe

DEF Altzibar (M) Guezala (ISID, 28) - Olinpiko Santa Joana Arc-ekoa
DEF Wamuiru (F) Nyakio (NDUG, 26) - Kilebya United
DEF Oriol (M) Pérez (ISID, 31) - CE Santa Catarina
DEF Baran (F) Asayesh (SHAR, 29) - Venant Shahibad
DEF Sila (F) Bulut (TARÖ, 30) - Çayizderespor
DEF Wilhelm (M) Pfeddersheim (OFHP, 23) - Schwarz-Weiß Leichtin

MID Illi (M) Huayanay (URUA, 26) - Chaski Huancarayu
MID Maria (F) Löwenstern (OFHP, 27) - 1. FC Sonnenburg
MID Nazli (F) Erbakan (TARÖ, 26) - Sülüzerspor
MID Lívia (F) Malapeir (ISID, 23) - CE Santa Catarina
MID Antoinette (F) Stoltzenberg (OFHP, 22) - Hinterpommern Königinneburg

STR Konrad (M) Nordenflycht (OFHP, 32) - 1. FC Sonnenburg
STR Mwangi (M) Kenyatta (NDUG, 23) - Jila FC
STR Gunel (M) Gul (TARÖ, 24) - Namankandspor FK
STR Tirta (M) Kartawijaya (CNPR, 25) - PTP
STR Suhendra (M) Kurniawan (CNPR, 20) - PSBB

Starting with the strikers, Nordenflycht has been ruthless but requires some distraction around him to be efficient. That's what Kenyatta is for, whose vision and speed will be a handful. Gul complements the three strikers as a mercurial 'inside winger' - he is good on the touch line but opts to drift inside quite a bit. Kartawijaya and Kurniawan are best deployed as a duo, which we're not ruling out, but it's hard to tell who should be benched for that.

The midfield is a mixed bag: the infinite stamina of Huayanay cultivated in Uruashoren's mountains is necessary, with Löwenstern's passing, Erbakan's ability to close down distances and shut down opponents. This midfield can dominate phases of play but can be sidelined just as easily, if you play to everyone's weakness. Malapeir can bring the mentality and the aggression if that happens.

The defence has the Isidoren duo of Guezala and Pérez in it, with Nyakio who - on paper - should be the best of them all but hasn't been without criticism in her 180 minutes. Asayesh wasn't given much thought before the qualifiers but she turned out to be incredibly helpful on a Shahrbanoren team who are just finding their footing. Bulut, if necessary, is a wrecking ball. Use with caution.

On goal, Samper has been near flawless for her Isidoren.
OOC Ko-oren puppet.
IC collection of meritocratic nations, with the collection as a whole under Ko-orenite control even if some of its member states can be a little difficult. Some are in free association with Ko-oren, some are fully independent.

The Captina Company Football Agency

Image

The Captina Company Football Agency (TCCFA) controls all levels of football in the nation, issuing licenses to groups wishing to form teams. The Captina Company Super League consists of 14 teams playing every opponent once between April & June then following a 2 month break, play every opponent again between September & November.

The Captina Company National Football Team will make a second consecutive attempt, and fourth overall, to qualify for the World Cup. After winning seven and drawing once in WCQ 96, going into the stretch run with an opportunity to make the playoffs, Manager Jonas Yarborough hopes to build on the momentum from that outcome. Only one opponent took both matches against Captina as the Rosso e Oro won or drew at least once against every other opponent.

STYLE: +1.31
Tactics: 4-3-3 Captina Island has completed their evolution from the heavily defensive style that they debuted with back in Copa Rushmori 40. The level of skill in attack has improved dramatically and the tactics have shifted to reflect the circumstances.

All Time Record: 42 wins, 55 defeats, 21 draws (118 matches)

Captina Island is the southernmost nation in Rushmore, made up of 6.3 million people of which approximately 31% are ethnic Captini--the native Polynesian type peoples who occupied the island prior to discovery--and 42% Italini, descendants of the settlers who arrived after 1922, with about 20% identifying themselves as mixed. The remainder are of other ethnic backgrounds and nationalities.

Captina Island thrives in all aspects of life thanks to the rigorous discipline of “The Plan” (officially known as The Captina Island National Community Operation Master Plan [CINCOMP]) which organizes the priorities, agenda, and the day to day running of proper society within the Armed Republic.

All economic affairs are controlled by the five major privately owned corporations that operate under the provisions of The Plan, holding exclusive license to conduct the nationwide administration of the following areas:

Captina National Organization (CNO)--Defense/Health & Medical/Education
State Economic Corporation (SEC)--Retail/Banking/Transportation/Technology
Industrial & Manufacturing Alliance (IMA)--Production/Raw Materials/Wholesale
The Captina Company (TCC)--Social/Entertainment/Utilities
Brandstadter Corporation Authority (BCA)--Food/Agriculture/Construction

Any remaining areas that would be under the control of a constituted government are handled by The Burkett Group, which is owned in equal shares by the five main corporations and a public ownership scheme funded by a 50 crown (about NS$10) per week deduction from the wages of all citizens. TBG functions as a bureaucratic administrative body, coordinating inter-company affairs in addition to providing the personnel for things like police/fire protection, vital statistics record keeping, public spaces maintenance, and other public services.

TBG operates from the National Capital District of Big Flint which has a population of 84,000, while the other corporations each have their own headquarters city, although they have nationwide operations; within each major city, the 'affiliated' companies have satellite offices to handle the daily business.

FORMATION / FORMACION

STYLE OF PLAY / ESTILO DE JUEGO
Style Modifier: +0.93
Description: Being a defensive stalwart in his playing days, Casimiro Coro slowly reduced the attacking tendencies the national team had during their unpublicized matches. Thus, the mentality of the current squad is more of a balanced side with some semblance of aggressiveness and attacking mentality retained. Coro usually starts with a 4-2-3-1 with both Makarova and Osa acting as side midfielders but can shift as wingers since they can play those positions as well, transitioning to a 4-2-1-3 formation.

Most likely to:
Score penalties: Heguy, Mojica, Solorzano
Score a direct free kick: Mojica, Bidaola, Heguy
Concede a penalty: Arguello, Antunez, Mendinueta
Booked for short temper: Heguy, Osa, Pabon

Style of Play
Style Modifier: -1.22
Description: Unlike his stint as Hispinas manager, Alfonzo Medrano did not advise SFI's national football teams to play an attacking mindset, instead, he prescribed a balanced style of play in a 4-2-1-3 formation that would easily transition to defensive or attacking set plays on the fly. Funelas took this advice to mind, hence the current identity of the national team. Frain also prefers a rigid style of play prioritizing defense over offense.

Official Kits
Libertad Sportswear supplies all national teams' kits with a 15-year contract. The national team will don its new kits for the 97th edition of the World Cup Qualifiers starting with a few pre-qualifying friendlies and a competition with Hispinas for the Trofeo del Cielo y el Mar, a competition to commemorate the friendship between the two nations which started during the Sangtian-Filindo War.

Primary Kit - Yellow shirts with red collar, and trim, yellow shorts with red trim, yellow socks
Image

Secondary Kit - Red shirt with red collar, and white gradient, white shorts, white socks

Tertiary Kit - All black kit with yellow trim

The Alanis and Node 93 Football Association – ELSEIF(CoH_Invite == 1); post_roster().

Image

It’s expected, but that’s okay! We were a little disheartened by the inability for us to get in, but Clarissa has once again reassured us that this happens often times and that all we can do is to strive for the better. Besides, there are a couple of silver linings and solaces to see. For one, well, Valentian Kittens didn’t make it in either so it’s not just us. That, and being in Cup of Harmony is not some walk of shame. If anything, it’s better! It’s our chance to redeem ourselves and well, I will be honest – my first evaluation so far is that this is a relatively easier one, since the bigger and more experienced teams (for the most parts) are all duking it out in World Cup itself. So, here’s to us all once again! The Diodes will keep on going forward, and we will make sure that the football will – for the most parts – only go in one direction: Towards the opponent’s goalpost! With luck, we might just be able to get further in this one.

TEAM HISTORY
At long last, the Elite Eleven have been catapulted into the sun, far far away from the Kick Corps. Now, a "real" form of the Kick Corps is back. There's bound to be some growing pains, but all of these players are elite athletes who've been plying their trade in the DLK and abroad for the past few years. Now that the national team is back to normal, they finally have a chance to don the black and red and compete for their nation. A few familiar faces, freshened by the gift of immortality, have returned. Due to her familiarity with Corps play (and no small amount of "aggressive persuasion"), former Corps player/immortal warrior/co-founder of Drawkland/elf Ellzidan will serve as the manager. Her job was in question, until she managed the Corps to their third World Cup knockout appearance in history. Now she's got a bit of a looser leash, though many still consider her an extended interim hire.
The lineup for this IAC is mostly shuffled to give backups and potential future cycle starters a chance to get more playing time, with the immortals riding the bench until a strong second wind is needed. Drawkland will always play to win, but don't be surprised if there's questionable play on display.
Drawkian soccer, and indeed, sporting in general, is mostly offensive-minded. This is reflected in the style indicator and in the formation. Drawkian soccer has not really been exposed to outside influences, and thus may look or feel strange to those used to "normal" football. Nevertheless, the players are still good at what they do, and prize in an enduring game, moving the ball around nearly constantly and keeping energy going, aiming to tire out the opposing team. Of course, Drawkians aren't humans, but you can read about that elsewhere. Drawkian Soccer is a female-only sport. This is because Gridiron Football is all-male, and the other two major sports, Baseball and Basketball, are mixed-gender. If there's anything a Drawkian loves, it's even formats and symmetric paradigms, hence why things shook out like they did.

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:
Choose my Scorers: Yes
Choose Scoring Events: Yes
Godmod Scoring Events: Yes
RP Injuries to my Players: Yes
Godmod Injuries to my Players: Yes
Yellow Card my Players: Yes
Red Card my Players: Yes
Godmod Other Events: Yes
As far as these go, I'm fair game for anything. You should know what is and isn't drastic RP, and if you think your RP is on the drastic side, TG me first. But I'm still basically up for anything.
I'd like to request that injuries or cards don't do anything outside of the scope of a single game or maybe 2. Don't want anything tournament or cycle-ending.

About this squad
Following Audioslavia's failure to qualify for the World Cup - the national team have now only made three of the last eight finals, easily the most miserable period in the side's history - Winfridh has decided to step down at the end of the Cup of Harmony. Despite the failure, the general ethos of this team is in line with that of the side which went 9-4-3 in qualifying. Two quick wing-backs support a hard-working midfield three (Coorie the water carrier, Buckley the playmaker, Bruhn the incisive runner from deep). Zendagorta makes a return to the starting line-up in a supporting role for the tall, athletic Lúnquerque, whose talents for turning crosses and through passes into shots on target will be Audioslavia's bread and butter up front.

At the back, captain Tibere is a former Savigliane international, while alongside him is a mixture of youth (highly rated ball-playing Bombarralense defender Gostamuito) and toughness (Alex Bocker will chase you down and stamp on you for even glancing absent-mindedly at the far post).

About Audioslavia

Potted history
  • Audioslavia reached the finals of World Cups 12, 19, 20 and 29, losing all of them and gaining a reputation as a team that chokes.
  • After thirty cycles away, Audioslavia returned to win the Baptism of Fire before World Cup 59, won a regional championship in cycle 60 and then won back-to-back World Cups in cycles 63 and 64. That's the golden generation right there.
  • Things went back to normal after that. The side lost a few more major finals, including World Cups 67, 69 and 76.
  • Recent cycles have seen Audioslavia fall to the midfield in the rankings, failing to qualify for four out of the last five World Cups. That disappointment was been offset by victory in CAFA Cup 3 and Cup of Harmony 83, both in Cycle 91. The side's fortunes have continued to slide since, and at this point football fans have become accustomed to the side being on the fringes of international football.
  • Audioslavia is one of two nations to have won five different major senior titles - BoF, CoH, WC plus two different regional championships. They recently became the only team in history to have recorded 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed finishes in each of the three WCC tournaments, plus regional competition.
  • Recently discovered in the history books: A regional tournament for the now-defunct FIFA region, held before World Cup 28. Audioslavia won this tournament, but do not consider it to be an official regional title unless Nepharans are in the room.
  • Audioslavia in the 90s have been shambolic, qualifying for only three World Cups in seven attempts.

Style of Play
  • Post Football is the name given to Audioslavia's style of play. It's based on the idea that, the less the game resembles football, the more ill at ease your opponents will be. Audioslavia play dirty, sideways and overly cautiously. The addition of Winfridh as manager initially curtailed this somewhat, but the Bulls are expected to play five across the back for the qualifiers.
  • Kontrapuntzeka is another word for Audioslavia's style of play. Literally meaning counter-attacking, Audioslavia's national team are comfortable playing without the ball and charging forward in numbers when they do finally get it. Each player on this team has a deep understanding of how, when and where to attack on the counter. Losing the ball and allowing the Bulls to hit you on the break can be fatal to even the best teams in the multiverse.
  • Audioslavian managers have started trying to get the defenders to pass the ball around the back to entice their opponents forward. Audioslavian defenders hate this almost as much as Audioslavian fans.
  • Our footballers tend to be on the shorter, leaner side, with everyone outside of the goalie, centre forward and centre half topping out at about 5'10.
  • Audioslavian footballers are often tenacious, with the highest levels of stamina you'll see in world football. Audioslavian sides are often capable of playing at a high-tempo for long periods of time, and wins are often through attrition rather than skill.
  • Audioslavian teams are notorious for gamesmanship - the bending of the rules in order to gain an advantage. Players will taunt, feign injury, surround the referee, basically anything if it seems like it'd be beneficial. Audioslavians feel no shame in this. As far as they're concerned, their willingness to go further than the other team is a sign that they're more dedicated than their opponents might be. What might be considered dishonourable behaviour for you might be considered normal in Audioslavia.
  • Audioslavian teams fear losing. It's our greatest weakness and, given how this fear manifests itself in big games, a powerful irony
  • As well as lacking a bit of raw power, Audioslavian footballers often lack technique compared to their foreign counterparts. Nobody in the team is stationary and expecting a pass to feet. Passes are played into roughly the space the player will be sprinting into. When the side are countering, it's all speed-speed-speed.
  • Above all else though, what Audioslavian national teams often lack is heart. The worse things are going, the worse Audioslavians play. They're the classic bully. When things don't pan out as they expect, they retreat physically and mentally.

The Manager
Affectionately nicknamed 'Opera' on account of his loud, weirdly melodic instructions bellowed from the sidelines to his team-mates, last cycle Winfridh became just the second manager in five cycles to guide Audioslavia to a World Cup finals, albeit with little success while there (two draws and one defeat were not enough to progress). Like most Daineri footballers and increasingly Audioslavians of Daineri decsent, 'Winfridh' is his only name.

Formerly a goalkeeper at Daineri club Doubleplusgood, Winfridh became Silexhera FC's first choice goalkeeper following their promotion to the top flight. There, he performed miracles in keeping the side in top division football, coming close to a Globe Cup spot in one season. The side would be relegated in Season 11 of the National League, after which Winfridh would join then-second division CF Daineri, winning promotion as backup keeper before fully entrenching himself into the managerial role he'd already made his own. He presided over the side's initial three-season stay in the top division, and pushed the side back up into the top flight in his second to last season at the club.

Often with left-field approaches to individual games, if with a propensity to over-think. His Audioslavia's brand of post-football has been interesting, if sometimes unproductive. He steps down at the end of the Cup of Harmony, no matter how well or badly the side will play.

Home, Away

Home shirt is traditionally worn with white shorts and socks, but if our opponents are wearing that colour then we switch to the same deep red as the shirts. This is what usually ends up happening. Dark green or black shorts have been worn on occasion.

KATZEBURGIAN NATIONAL TEAM

The Blue Cats

Style Modifier: +3

Image

The Blue Cats are the national representatives of Katzeburg, which participated in its first ever international competition with BOF 84, where the side made a run to the semi-finals. The team is nicknamed after an incredibly rare breed of the country's national animal, the cat, which was long-rumored to exist in small numbers in the Campbellnia National Park along the country's north-east coast. While Katzeburg is only a young nation, football has quickly picked up pace as the most popular sports on its shores. Initial hotspots of the sport were predominantly in the more industrial north of the nation, encompassing the nation's central capital Katzestadt, its heavy industrial city of Inverhaven, and the north-eastern city of Axmund.

The country's start-up national league, the Katzeburgian National League, has recently completed its first season, but not without controversy - as KFF chairman Brendan Kerr was forced to resign from his role at the start of the World Cup qualification process after tapes emerged of him abusing his role as MP for Wolfenholm North. Recorded threatening to cut-off towns who were interested in joining the league from its third season onwards from the currently in progress North Katzeburgian Railway, Kerr stepped down and the KFF is currently looking for a replacement chair - but the off-field scandal derailed the side's run at the qualifiers, where the team sat in third for a large chunk of the group only to fall off in the final matchdays to end in fifth.

Manager Becka Haberkorn has selected a squad which for the most part, featured in the qualification process, with captain Owen Levitt, who scored a crucial goal to secure the side a spot in the knockouts at the Baptism of Fire, taking on the armband for potentially the final time - with rumours abounding that he will retire from international football after the competition.

Drake Wruck, the Katzestadt Rovers forward who led the domestic league scoring charts last season with 20 goals in 26 games, has been explosive for the national side in his short career to date - netting 26 goals in 26 games for the Blue Cats, including the nation's first ever hat-trick against Kanzlia in the 1st Silver Dragon Invitational - a small competition hosted in Riena which Katzeburg won ahead of WC97 Qualifiers.

Meanwhile Axmund City midfielder Elmer Spears finds his way into the starting XI after some strong performances during the qualifiers, having phased out established midfielder Tilman Cummings midway through the qualifiers. At just 17 years old, he is the youngest of a young Katzeburgian line-up which will be hopeful of securing a couple of points and a positive end to their first World Cup cycle.

Tactics
Markova elects to field a less attacking formation, with only one central striker.

Markova prefers fast, flowing football, so quick passes and counterattacks are part and parcel of her game. Do expect more inexperienced or tired players to give the ball away more often. The team relies on the wingers and fullbacks to control the wider parts of the pitch, especially since the wingers are more likely to cross the ball into the box than drive it into the center. The wingers tend to fall back to receive the ball rather than stay out in the opponent's third for high balls. The midfield is fluid and can switch between 2 CDM/1 CAM and vice versa depending on the opponents' philosophy. The default formation, however, includes two defensive midfielders and one attacking one. The backline tends to stay back during attacks, especially if the opposing attacker doesn't fall back into defense; fullbacks sometimes provide attacking support depending on the presence of the opposing winger.

This quick possession play allows for the team to quickly penetrate through defenses, especially those caught out by counterattacks. However, if the opposition plays a low block, the team can struggle to break through, and a boring display of possession ball might be played instead.

Distinctive Playstyles and Traits
Note: If a player isn't mentioned here just do whatever you want with them.
  • Leonova and Korneyeva tend not to leave their line, although Korneyeva comes out for 1-on-1 situations.
  • Antipova's sprints usually start off very explosive, but her pace dies off quickly.
  • Serebrova has a habit of being "lazy" whenever the ball isn't on her side of the pitch.
  • Menshikova has a flair for blocking shots, but a good portion of those shots come with handballs.
  • Grande and Dunayevskaya like to go against Markova's commands and join the team during corners; only Dunayevskaya has the pace to track back when counterattacked after.
  • Barkova loves to charge at players while having the ball regardless of who she's squaring up with. Kazapova on the other hand would rather pass the ball than make a run.
  • Miloradova has a tendency to swear at anyone, whether it be teammates, opponents, or the referee. She has gotten into hot water over this quite a few times.
  • What do Mamykina and Shubina have in common? Having insane ball control they love to show off during games.
  • Do not be alarmed or surprised if you see Oborina sky a ball from 40 yards out.
  • Kuznetsova usually passes to the central striker than a wide player.
  • Sapogova will always pass when she sees an opportunity.
  • Never let Marin shoot.
  • Runova takes advantage of her size to weave in between defenders. Only problem is she would rather dribble than pass to an open player.
  • Rozhkova loves to pressure defenders on the ball, and her pace can be really intimidating especially as she charges towards you. Thankfully or not, she can't tackle a ball to save her life.
  • Pishchalnikova prefers high through passes from the centre of the pitch to the striker. However, she can be oblivious as to whether the striker is onside or not.
  • Semerikova loses the ball very easily, but she makes up for it by aggressively rushing the opponent with the ball.
  • Kuzenkova-Domínguez is an expert in diving even without contact, but she sometimes chooses to play through an actual injury she received during a match.

Fan Culture
Despite Doubeia's recent independence, national cameraderie is strong, especially amongst Doubeinese supporters. Fans tend to try to intimidate the opponents and their supporters using fan chants and instruments such as drums, horns and gongs. There is a subset of supporters called the Rockers who usually perform in front of the fans before a game. The Rockers use electric guitars, drum sets and violins to hype up the Doubeinese supporters.

Tifos resembling the Doubeinese flag or one of the players are occasionally put up.

Doubeinese fans usually make a loud ruckus outside the stadium before and after matches. Bars nearby the stadium tend to fill up pretty quickly while fans parade along the boulevard leading to the stadium. After losses, Doubeinese fans tend to be more riled up and can get violent especially in response to mockery from the opposing supporters.

The Langenian National Team for the Cup of Harmony

Image

THE LANGENIAN NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM

The Langenian national football team has the distinction of being the pride and joy of the Republic of Langenia, a country where football is widely regarded as the national sport. Langenia's domestic football league is known for its passionate form of play called the Juego Bello, hardcore fanbases, and intense rivalries among clubs dating back decades. Although there are other popular sports in the country, namely gridíron and basketball, none of them come close to being as rooted into Langenian culture as futbol, as it is called in Langenia, does.

The national team, nicknamed Los Azules for their distinct blue uniforms, was formed with the purpose of playing neighboring nations around the same time football arrived in Langenia when the 19th century gave way to the 20th. In times of national hardship or division a competition in which the national football team participates is one of the few things that can closely bring the population together. Although it has participated in several competitions within its region over the decades of its existence, the Baptism of Fire, World Cup qualifiers, and Cup of Harmony are notable in that they are the first competitions of their types Los Azules play in, large ones of an extra-regional scale.

Currently, in the wake of terror attacks in the major cities of Aragon and San Jose that led to war with neighboring Parador, as well as a divisive presidential election, it is the national hope that once again Los Azules will unify the country behind one banner and give it something to root for.

Notable Players and the Coach

Enrique Vargas - Manager/Head Coach

Enrique Vargas is the current manager of Los Azules, the Langenian national football team. As a player, he was known for being one of the country's most skilled midfielders, leading his club Atletico Terrate to become perennial contenders for the Liga Nacional championship title, as well as strong competitors in regional club competitions. Unfortunately, an injury cut his career short, and he turned to coaching. Initially starting out as an assistant coach with his former team, Atletico Terrate, he eventually accepted a head coaching position with Merida. He led the team to upset wins over Aragona and San Jose, usually the two strongest teams in the Liga Nacional, on the way to a championship title. After his stint at Merida, he was selected as the manager/head coach of the national team, a position he currently holds. Vargas is notable for introducing numerous reforms in his time as the manager for Los Azules, namely an additional focus on improving the capabilities of the defense as well as using the midfield to support the forwards by creating passing lanes to score. Nonetheless, he has maintained the traditional offensive-focused Juego Bello form of Langenian football.

Oscar Galindo

Oscar Galindo is a forward, currently the captain of the Langenian national football team. One of the "The Three G's" that make up part of Los Azules's attacking unit, he is often cited as an example of the attacking-minded form of football practiced by the Langenians. Right-footed and of short physical stature, his style of play is notable for for his agility and explosiveness combined with fast dribbling. Galindo is notable for being prolific in his attempts to score on the goal by penetrating through the opposing defense by dribbling, as well as attempting to create scoring chances as a playmaker for his teammates in a similar fashion. He currently wears the number 9 shirt and plays for the club Aragona.

Raul Guzman

Raul Guzman is a forward, wearing the number 10 shirt for Los Azules. Another of "The Three G's", the right-footed player is known for his flamboyant style of play that involves the use of elasticos, rainbow flicks, and step overs, making him often seen as a symbol of the Juego Bello form of football of the Langenian team. Along with Oscar Galindo, Guzman penetrates through the opposing defense to receive the ball from the midfield and create a scoring opportunity in a fast-paced attack. In a contrast to the short-statured Galindo, Guzman's height allows him to be effective when making headers. He currently plays for the club Silvana FC in the country of Relikai.

Daniel Gallegos

Daniel Gallegos is an attacking midfielder, wearing the number 12 shirt for Los Azules. Gallegos is part of "The Three G's" attacking unit, acting as a playmaker for the forwards Gallegos and Guzman. Left-footed, he is notable for his quick dribbling combined with the tricks and feints characteristic of the Juego Bello, initiating the fast-paced attacks of the Langenian form of football and crossing the ball to the strikers. Gallegos is also known for his powerful kick, allowing him to score from a distance away from the goal. This makes him the primary free kick taker for Los Azules. He currently plays for the club Athlitikos Apollonias in the country of Romaia.

Note: Disregard player names on diagram as it dates from Baptism of Fire 84. Nonetheless, the formation is the same.

The Langenian form of football is known for the flamboyant style of attacking that is its trademark, called the Juego Bello. The Juego Bello focuses on attacking the opposing side's goal through fast-paced dribbling and the use of tricks and feints such as elasticos and rainbow flicks, ultimately with the end of overwhelming the defense and opening up passing lanes to score.

To this end, Los Azules use a 4-3-3 formation, with an attacking unit of two forwards and an attacking midfielder at the head of the formation. This unit is the engine of the Langenian team on the field given its focus on offense and scoring a goal at any cost. Currently, the "Three G's" of Daniel Gallegos, Oscar Galindo, and Raul Guzman perform this role, penetrating through the defense to receive the ball from the midfield and score.

The midfield is the most versatile part of the team, with the Langenians deploying a central midfielder to act as a passer to the attacking unit at the front, supported by two wingers. It is on this section of the team that the fast-paced dribbling of the Juego Bello is carried out, with the midfield being responsible for initiating attacks. Despite having the role of passers, the midfielders are also an important part of the offense. It is not unusual for them to move up and act as a second wave of attackers after the forwards, overwhelming the opposing defense through speed and powerful shots from far out. In addition, if necessary they move back to reinforce their own defense when the Langenian goal is being attacked.

In the defense, two centre-backs and two fullbacks on the left and right flanks assist the goalkeeper in protecting the goal. Despite the Langenian style of football having a major focus on offense, the tenure of Enrique Vargas as head coach has seen Los Azules make changes to improve the quality of the defense, placing a focus on stopping the attack before it begins by reinforcing the defense with players from the midfield during an attack, thus outnumbering the attackers and intercepting passes to sweep the ball out back to the forwards. The four defenders are each assigned a specific zone to protect with the purpose of responding to any intruder within that zone, preventing them from dribbling towards the goal.

Roster and Staff

Manager: Jean Alexandre Carignan

Preferred formation: 4-4-2
The manager opened the selection to test new callups, the CoH squad is on average 3 years younger than it's counter part who just reached the WCQ playoffs. The starting eleven is headed by the attacking duo of Francis Fortinello and Ophélie Dumas, two stars in the Super League, but had a tough time cracking the NT team lineup. The team is captained by Alexandre Desrives, the elder of the selection and a veteran at the international level. Gaspard Leroux and Jerome Fusilier provide the speed down the wings. The back line is a lively bunch, focusing on tightly marking the opposition and stuff out chances. Lincoln Green is the man between the posts. The Alexandrie netminder as grown a lot since reaching the Super League and has evolved into a complete keeper. The bench features brand new names to the national team. Of note, Valérie Sault and Edmée Couture can control the midfield with their passing and defensive abilities.

Reçueçn Roster & National Information

National Team Information

After another come-from-nowhere World Cup qualification last cycle, hopes were high that it would inaugurate another streak of solid Reçuecian performance. Of course, this time, despite a bigger World Cup and a higher rank, les licornes fell short. With ÉNRF manager Bonheur Relié's contract up at the end of the cycle, will he be able to keep his job? What kind of results are needed at this Cup of Harmony to please the bigwigs at the FNRF? And can the team ensure that this cycle becomes a stepping stone to another qualification in the future?

~

If L'Équipe Nationale de Reçueçn de Football is known for anything, it would be its defensive style. This is partly due to the large influence of Reçueçn FC on the team; the most popular domestic club in Reçueçn plays about as defensive a game as you can imagine. This is balanced out to some extent by the players from other teams with more attacking philosophies, but the league as a whole tends towards defense, and it shows in the national team. Furthermore, Gerauld Firaut, the team's #1 goalie, is the best player on the team by a solid margin—without a doubt, Reçueçn's first world-class player. He and his defense form the foundation for the team as a whole.

Image
National Team Logo
The team plays in a 4-3-3 formation, but sometimes the wings drop back, almost making it a 4-5-1. In general, the team's strategy and tactics are solid. However, there has always been some tension between the current manager, Bonheur Relié, who would prefer a more attacking style, and the players, who in general are more comfortable on defense. Relié has never managed to make himself as popular with the team as his predecessor, Jacques Tremblay, who was the founding head coach of the team and is a footballing icon for Reçuecians. Relié's inability to build the same relationship is due only to his lack of charisma, not skill, but does make his job more difficult.

The Reçueçian National Team's mascot is the unicorn; thus another name for the team is "les licornes". The fantastical creature has been a symbol of Reçueçn for almost two millennia and is also the national animal, appearing as the supporters in the national coat of arms.

The team's kit represents the colors of the flag in a quite literal fashion. The jersey was redesigned a long time ago, replacing the first one les licornes ever wore, dating back to the 59th Baptism of Fire. Fans thought the old outfit was ugly, but the current one is now also becoming out of favor as the longer it stick around the more tired people grow of it. It was much more professional than the original, but leaves more to be desired.

Coaching Staff
Bonheur Relié: Passionate and motivated, Relié had all the youthful energy you'd hope for in the assistant coach of a side whose manager was pushing three quarters of a century. Sometimes his energy was a bit much and he's had some friction with the players in the past. Ever since his "Spirit of 83" campaign during Cycle 95, he earned his players' trust, and the results since then have spoken to that. His contract for the équipe nationale ends after this World Cup so there is some extra pressure for him to perform well.

Ägidius Heissler: Used to play as a left wing for Itrino. After retiring as a player he signed for the National Team as Paraclete, taking a promotion to Assistant Manager in the wake of Tremblay's resignation. If Relié was the bad cop to Tremblay's good cop, with Tremblay gone, Heissler fills the good cop role.

Starting XI
1 Gerauld Firaut goalkeeper age 34 self-controlled
The face of Reçuecian soccer. Team captain, and a pillar of support for his teammates.

2 Emanuele Cutrona sweeper age 30 Italian
Young and passionate. Cutrona's friendship with Adams often gets them in trouble.

3 Paulin Bourguignon left back age 31 counter-attacking
Pacy and forward-thinking. Loves to make big clears rather than defend more precisely.

4 Lukas Kayserling center back age 30 tall
Calm and controlled. German-speaking and has difficulty communicating with the team.

5 Eric Konig right back age 20 frail
Tall, skinny, and prone to injury due to how often he collides in mid-air after going up to defend a corner kick.

6 Marco Daecher left midfielder age 21 go-doer
Works well with Thériault to execute Lapix' tactical vision.

7 Laurent Lapix defensive midfielder age 24 brilliant
Brings spice and life to the midfield. A playmaker who, bringing outside ideas, is shaking things up.

8 Théophile Thériault right midfielder age 18 collaborator
The spearhead of the next generation of Reçuecian soccer. Everybody loves a young star.

9 Dirk Trommler left wing age 21 penetrating
A high defense's worst nightmare. Has a knack for finding a way through with the ball, whether forward balls or to shoot himself.

10 Franky Adams center forward age 29 flamboyant
Reçueçn's most famous player other than Firaut. Good enough to be the center of attention (which he loves).

11 Helibert Wolf right wing age 30 level-headed
Quick-thinking and decisive. His ability to make crucial split-second decisions has earned him many assists.
Reserves
12 Estienne de Chefderue goalkeeper age 30 patient
Being second-string goalie for a nation whose best player is their first-string goalie is not easy.

13 Rodolphe Trudeau sweeper age 30 persistent
Trudeau's willingness to always make an attack makes him a frustrating opponent. Short and stocky but high-power.

14 Jayson Compton left back age 31 mysterious
We've always said we don't know much about him, but seriously, who is this guy?

15 Quirino Lucian center back age 31 intimidating
Large and physical. Lucian's looming presence isn't an empty threat, he'll mess you up given the chance.

16 Alex Bruguière right back age 29 intuitive
A "diamond in the rough" according to Heissler. The diamond being his play-stopping ability and the rough being his club, Baden Heidelberg.

17 Robert Chéreau left midfielder age 30 visionary
Knows how to use the space in the midfield. Still somehow tends to drift toward the center.

18 Ansquetil de Bethencourt defensive midfielder age 30 cautious
A real thinker. Meticulously plans every pass. Usually doesn't take too long doing it.

19 Quentin Gouin right midfielder age 28 evanescent
Young and agile. Without the stamina to support his talent, his plays are flashy but brief.

20 Matthäus Behrend left wing age 29 ponderous
It can be hard to find good attackers from a nation of defenders. Matthäus is the best we could come up with.

21 Romain De Lie center forward age 17 energetic
With Thériault, has brought a youthful liveliness to the team locker-room. The pair has a great dynamic but unfortunately De Lie is on the bench for now.

22 Degaré Béranger right wing age 23 angry
Usually the one to yell at the ref or draw a yellow card. His teammates have to keep him under control.

23 Max Winkel goalkeeper age 19 redundant
A young new goalie, just called up for the team. Maybe given his age he will outlast Firaut and someday see time on the pitch.

Reçuecian History and Culture

The nation of Reçueçn was created in the first half of the XIIIth century, when Carl Blancpic, Duke of the Duchy of Reçueçn, launched a breakneck military campaign invading and annexing many of his neighbors to the east. Before this time, Reçueçn had been only a city, built on the heights overlooking the junction of the Rhône and Saône rivers. These heights had been settled by Carl Blancpic's distant ancestor, Ifheda Rcuecn, near the end of the IInd century a.d., and had born his name ever since. The area at that time belonged to the Roman Empire, who had established their regional administrative center, Lugdunum, on the other side of the river.

In 197 a.d., a decisive battle was fought near Lugdunum in one of the civil wars for the throne of the empire. The victor, Septimius Severus, razed the city of Lugdunum and destroyed it, stripping from it all imperial privileges in punishment for supporting his rival. This was the end for Lugdunum, but it was the beginning for Reçueçn. Refugees flocked across the river to join the settlement, and the city of Reçueçn grew to become a smallish regional center. Rcuecn's descendants (who changed the spelling to Reçueçn) maintained control over what became the Duchy of Reçueçn for 700 years, until it was inherited by their cousins the Blancpics who reigned for another 300 years.

At the beginning of the XIIIth century, power passed into the hands of Carl Blancpic, who was a megalomaniac and partially insane . Thus he declared his duchy to be a kingdom and singled out weak neighbors who he invaded with audacity. Over an incredibly short period of time beginning in the spring of 1237, he had carved out for himself a sizable dominion.

Carl, who styled himself "Carl III of Reçueçn", was violent, unstable, and petty. He was also wildly unpopular with the populations of the various states he had conquered. Although the central power structure helped the economy of the new Kingdom of Reçueçn to some extent, it did not bring with it all the stability that might have been expected. This was mostly due to the decrees of Carl III, who, among other things, began a campaign to persecute and kill all "heretics" within his new realm. Most historians agree that this was in fact a thinly veiled purge of his political rivals. This and other policies he enacted on his whims finally drove the people into open revolt in the spring of 1252.

Carl managed to hold on to power for a couple years by hiring mercenaries, but in 1254 lost two key battles and was captured by the rebels. By this time, the rebellion was led by feudal lords throughout the country who had sided with the people against their tyrant king. Carl III was executed, and the kingdom dissolved into a mess of tiny, independent feudal holdings.

No sooner had the various states that had been in the Kingdom of Reçueçn won their independence, than infighting broke out among them. The feudal lords squabbled over power and influence, trying vainly to imitate Carl's meteoric rise to power. This new violence, combined with the economic downturn associated with the rebellion and the breakup of the nation, clearly displayed how poorly things were turning out. More sensible minds came to the decision that the solution was to once more unify Reçueçn.

On November 19, 1256, therefore, The Allied States of Reçueçn came into being. The leaders of all the petty states, duchies, bishoprics, free cities, etc., came together and signed what are known as "The Treaties of the Alliance," a document just powerful enough to make Reçueçn a single nation, rather than a group of independent entities. The treaties also established a rough form of democracy, with each state represented (although typically by its aristocracy). Thus Reçueçn lays claim to being one of the oldest democracies in the world.

The treaties defined much of Reçuecian history to come. Provisions were made to establish freedom of religion, in order to avoid another scenario similar to Carl III's persecution of his opponents. The treaties also gave Reçueçn an isolationist bent. The nation had been burned before, and wouldn't soon try to meddle in external affairs, especially when its composite nature made creating a foreign policy so difficult.

Reçueçn, then, has managed to avoid many of the crises of European history. It's darkest moment came when Napoleon invaded, proclaiming himself emperor (although he allowed Reçueçn's government to continue to function under his reign). The allied states have drawn closer together, although cultural differences remain among them; they don't even all speak the same language.

Reçueçian culture has also been shaped by its location, nestled in the center of the Alps. The difficulty of travel among mountain valleys ensured the cultural diversity of the nation and preserved local customs. Although rural communities did center around agriculture—especially dairy production—many Reçuecian were forced by the lack of arable land to find other work. This led to a culture of innovation that continues today: Reçueçn is now known for its luxury products and technological exports. This has additionally led to a focus on science and education. The relatively diverse nature of Reçueçn's culture means that some areas are culturally more time-oriented while others are more task-oriented, but this fusion has given the country a uniqueness, especially in art. Reçueçn, perhaps thanks to its inland, mountainous location, or the fact that it was never a colonial power, has seen little immigration or emigration. Recently, however, the diversity of language spoken in the country has made it attractive to refugees from other areas where those languages are spoken.
