Independents Cup 17

Postby Quintessence of Dust » Thu Dec 08, 2022 8:32 am

Welcome to the 17th Independents Cup, also known as the Independent Associations Championship. This is a competition open to any nation who does not reside in one of the designated sports roleplaying regions (Atlantian Oceania, Rushmore, Esportiva, Mandalanusa, etc.).

If you are completely new to roleplaying football, or sports in general, on the NS forums, I recommend reading the guide to sports roleplaying pinned in this forum. You may also want to look at the previous editions of this tournament to see how things work. If you have any questions, feel free to post them in the OOC thread; otherwise this thread is just for rosters and RPs from registered participants.

Quick Links

Rosters

Please consider submitting a roster even if you're not sure you'll be roleplaying. Your roster is a list of your players: there are 11 players in a football team, and a full squad is normally 23, or these days 26, players. You can include other information, such as your manager, kit, playing formation and tactics, a bit about your nation's fans or sporting culture. Check out the previous editions to see how some different people have approached their rosters. Your roster does not need to be detailed or complicated: the most important thing is to clearly communicate to your opponents so they can write about your team.

You should include two details in your roster. The first is a style modifier, between -5 and +5. This dictates how defensive or attacking your team is. A -5 team is very defensive, a +5 team more attacking. Your style modifier does not affect your chance of winning nor even your margin of victory; a -5 team might win (or lose) 2-0 more often, a +5 team 4-2 more often.

The second is some RP permissions. NS Sports roleplaying is collaborative and we need to be able to write about each other's teams, but at the same time you can control how much freedom other people have to use your players in their roleplays. A typical permission box looks like this:

Code: Select all
If my opponent RPs first they have my permission to:
Choose my scorers: Y/N
Give out yellow/red cards to my players: Y/N
Injure my players: Y/N
Godmode scoring events: Y/N
Godmode injuries: Y/N
Godmode other events: Y/N

"Godmoding" refers to coming up with unusual and improbable outcomes. A defender scoring a goal or a striker scoring an own goal isn't godmoding, but a player kicking the ball in the air only for it to bounce off a passing pigeon into the net, would be!

Please make sure to read your opponents' permissions before roleplaying. Any disputes should be resolved between the players involved and, if they can't reach an agreement, with the host.

Host stadiums

This tournament offers the opportunity for nations to bid to host some of the group stage qualifying games. It can't be guaranteed that everyone submitting an entry will be accepted or get to host all of their own team's games, but as far as possible I will try to include everyone in some capacity. Submitting a venue will also earn you some roleplay bonus, even if your ground is not selected.

To submit a venue the following is required:
1. You must be a registered participant in the tournament.
2. You must have submitted a roster. If you don't submit a roster, your stadium will not be picked.
3. You must include in your entry the name of the stadium you are entering, and which city or location in your nation it is found.
4. You can submit a maximum of two stadiums per user. If you're entering a puppet, you could submit one from each; if you're entering only one nation, you could submit two from your one nation. (But you don't have to, one entry is fine!)
Post your submission as a roleplay in this thread.

Including extra details about the stadium such as its design or history, the culture or climate of your nation, or what kind of reception visiting fans can expect, will make your submission earn more roleplay bonus for you as well as making your stadium more likely to be picked!

If you have any questions about this process, please ask in the OOC thread or by DM/TG.

The provisional deadline for submitting stadiums is Tuesday 13 December @ 2000 UTC.

West Barack and East Obama National Football Team

A Brief History of Obaman Football

Football as a sport is prohibited in West Barack and East Obama, along with other team sports such as cricket, rugby and paintball. This is because the prevalence team sports has a strong correlation to organised crime, violence and political dissidents, so all attempts at forming groups are prohibited. However, West Barack and East Obama has established an official national football team to help promote Obaman values on the international stage.

The West Barack and East Obama National Football Team will participate in its second ever Independent Associations Championships, after a mildly successful previous edition in Drawkland and Juvencus in which the team advanced from the group stage round. Hopefully this much more seasoned team, having participated in the World Cup, can juggle the demands of the 7 Nation Cup and the IAC to achieve success in both.

The Coaching Team

Head Coach: Buck Obamafinakis
Assistant Coach: Tuck Obamafinakis
Goalkeeping Coach: Chuck Obamafinakis

The Obamafinakis brothers are legendary throughout Southeast Obama. Known for their law firm 'Obamafinakis, Obamafinakis & Obamafinakis', these triplets are known for their expert litigation skills and have reduced countless death penalty sentences to paltry life imprisonment with hard labour and without parole sentences. Now, they're putting their persuasive skills and tactical knowledge to the real test by continuing their role as the coaching staff of the West Barack and East Obama national team for the IAC. Rumours that they were forced to take the job so that the government can distract them away from practicing law to better suppress dissidents are still false.

The Players

The players of the football team have been selected based on a variety of factors. The team that has been selected is the one that will maximise winning in competitions whilst minimising the possibility of bonds and teamwork being formed.

Goalkeeper: Dwayne Obama, 36

Captain Dwayne Obama is a fighter pilot for the Glorious Obama Air Forces. Known as 'Dwayne, Destroyer of Planes', Obama has taken down more enemy aircraft and blown up more secessionist state hospitals than can be counted. His reflexes and quick thinking helps him to get out of sticky situations, and his incredible muscles from intensive training means he can stop a powerful ball with just his pinky. The perfect goalkeeper candidate.

Left Centre Back: Trent Vobama, 37 (Captain)

Trent Vobama is the venerable captain of the team. His performance in the recent ODI World Trophy led to his call up for the football team, with many applauding his leadership and wondering if this old dog has some tricks up his sleeve. A very respectable figure, Trent's experience as a PE teacher will help him command the team to a victory.

Centre Back: Barack Denovitz, 29

A feared mob enforcer in downtown New Barack City, the Obamafinakis brothers convinced the Obaman courts to let Denovitz out for the competition, and if he succeeds could earn 10 years off his 150 year sentence (with hard labour). The definition of a hard man, he doesn't tackle, he just scares them away. Suspended on his international debut and he'd do it all over again.

Right Centre Back: Bark Obamallama, 31

Door-to-door llama salesman Bark Obamallama has really thick skin. You'll need it to if your day was spent dodging llama spit and verbal abuse from disinterested buyers. Described as being devoid of any emotions, Obamallama will have no second thoughts about ending that opponent's career with a devastating (but legal) slide tackle.

Left Wide Midfielder: Jenny Barracki, 27

Being a professional sprinter, Jenny Barracki is the fastest woman alive. In West Barack and East Obama. She can outrun most of her opponents down the wing, delivering crosses to waiting strikers. Also, she's great at fielding in cricket. Is there anything this woman can't do?

Left Central Midfielder: Harvey Chobamya, 28

Harvey Chobamya is not your average gym bro. He spends all of his days and nights on the treadmill at Anytime Obama in New Barack City, as well as doing all of the leg and feet exercises. The strongest lower body in the whole of the nation, he can send balls out of the stadium with just a slight tap. Leg day skips this guy.

Central Midfielder: Wolfgang Obamadeus-Mozart, 24

Better known by his pseudonym "DJ Momo" of the rap duo "Momo and the Obamasaurus", Obamadeus-Mozart has very unpredictable movement patterns to match his crazy beats. He can bamboozle, flabbergast and dumbfound any of his opponents to get the ball from one end of the pitch to the other. Finally reinstated into the team following his suspension and subsequent disappearance from the public eye, here's to hoping all that time was spent on honing his skills to boss midfields!

Right Central Midfielder: Charles Obama, 27

Royal Butler to The One and Only Barack Horatio Obama, Charles Obama is also a very skilled footballer. A holding midfielder, there's no room for nonsense when this guy's on the pitch. His commanding presence and knack for providing service to his fellow players will come into handy.

Right Wide Midfielder: Brett Pogama, 29

Brett Pogama has a lot of sports experience, participating in one of the most popular sports in the country (since team sports were banned) in greyhound racing. He plays the role of the rabbit, where he has to run as fast as he can to escape a pack of vicious greyhounds. Most of the time he gets out with only a flesh wound or two, showcasing his excellence for evading opponents to bring a ball into the box.

Left Centre Forward: Lily Chobamya, 19

Sister to Harvey Chobamya, Lily is good at free kicks and penalties. Inbetween her courses at Frederick Obamatown National Health University, she practices her set pieces, which aren't technically illegal as there's only one player playing. She can't do much else, but if you foul someone, say bye bye to your fragile lead.

Right Centre Forward: Fred Olibama, 30

Fred Olibama is one powerful forward. He is a cobbler by day, but in his spare time makes some of the best sports shoes known to man. Being both the striker and the kit guy for the team, his experience in bring in the shoes of a footballer will definitely be a big help to the team.

Let's just say it's a completely new era for Squidroidian football.

Not new era as in "Association changing hands", that happened last cycle. I'm talking about the national team getting a new identity. Coltfield's first cycle in charge could be best summed up in 1 number - 16. Round of 16 at the IAC due to byes ruining everything and Round of 16 at a World Cup where Squidroidia likely had a chance to win their first title. The star players of old were aging out - Makino Hideo and Charlie Colbert likely played their final games as standard starters. In their place stands a whole new generation of Wunderbars and welcomed players, with even the Wunderbars gaining their own identity.

With a new breed of talent emerging, this would be the best chance for the Inklings to obtain either the IAC or the biggest prize in the sport. The World Cup, however, had to wait one more year. This was the Indies time to shine.

Release the Independent Wolves.

The Inkopolis Times

ROAD TO IAC 17

ONE MORE RIDE

Inkopolis City Stadium nominated by SNTA as potential IAC 17 stadium

Image
Inkopolis City Stadium has been the home of the Squidroidian national team for 14 years

The Squidroidian National Team Association, or SNTA, has announced to the public that Inkopolis City Stadium will once again be in the running to host matches at a multi-national Independent Associations Championships. The 50,000 capacity stadium, which has played host to every Squidroidia Inklings home game since coming onto the international football scene, won the nomination vote over the 35,000 seater Newton Nuclear Stadium in Newton and County Stadium in Calamari County.

"It is important that Squidroidia's biggest and most famous stadium gets to be represented on a stage like this", said SNTA president Itoh Hoshi, who was a former Squidroidian international himself during his playing days. "ICS, despite being owned by the SFA and not us, is a historic venue that deserves to once again spotlight Squidroidia and house some of the best footballers from across the Independent regions. As such, Inkopolis will be presented once more as a IAC host venue."

Inkopolis City Stadium, also known as the Championship Grounds due to deciding numerous Squidroidian titles, has a long history of hosting big games. Currently the home of not only the Squidroidian national team but club side Inkopolis FC of the Squidroidian Premier League, the ground has hosted numerous events, from gridiron football games during numerous World Bowls to lacrosse events to concerts. Inkopolis City Stadium has also hosted the final of International Football Cup 2, a tournament run by the Megistos Football Association that didn't have a third edition, as well as the 4th FFI League of Victors (Then Liga dos Vencedores) Final, where Trimidau Rukiya of Poafmersia beat FC Yassaca of the Squornshelan Remnant States to lift Independent club football's biggest prize. The stadium also previously served as the site for the Squidroidian Cup Final, although since 2027 the tournament hasn't been run by the SFA.

Inkopolis City Stadium also hosted matches at IAC 15, the first "multi-national" IAC tournament in which any Independent nation was allowed to submit bids. ICS hosted every Squidroidian home game at the tournament's group stage, in which the Inklings went 5-0-0 scoring 11 goals and conceding 3 in front of the Squidroidian home crowd. The stadium also hosted a Round of 16 match where Kriegiersien lost in extra time to Tjorl. The SNTA is at least expecting 2-3 group games and a Round of 16 match for this edition.

Inkopolis, the capital of Squidroidia, has also hosted the inaugural Sepak Takraw World Cup as well as housing the StrikeLeague Squidroidia Finals, the domestic championship tournament for the Squidroidian tactical FPS shooter StrikeForce. The city blends Inkling style with human substance as a main hub for inter-racial commerce and conversation. The headquarters of many Squidroidian companies, with the exceptions of Inklingcraft and a couple of others, are housed in Inkopolis. The city's main landmark is Inkopolis Tower, a 950 foot green lattice tower situated in the heart of the city, Inkopolis Plaza. Visitors are sure to find the city welcoming and inclusive during the tournament, and watch parties are planned even after the last game of the tournament at the stadium is played.

However, this may be seen as ICS's last hurrah. With eyes on a potential World Cup bid, the SNTA, SFA and Squidroidian government have repeatedly mulled over constructing stadia larger than Inkopolis City, or at the very least building a stadium on par with the main venue to share national team games. The new legislative capital of Splatsville is likely to get this new stadium, although there have been proposals to build an entirely new stadium in Inkopolis, one that could rise to 88,000 seats, or construct new venues in both cities. This, however, will likely be pushed onto the backburner until after IAC 17.

For now, at least, Inkopolis is ready to welcome the world once more for tackles and turf wars.

About the Manager

Shane Newman is a Baker Park born, who took the chance to become the first NT boss for Havynwilde with an understanding that he would have time & resources to build from scratch. He was hounded by negative media coverage, the unrealisitc expectations of supporters & the governing body, and no investment to correct the dearth of talent in the domestic league. He was unceremoniously fired while out of the country on holiday. He'll consider his time there a learning experience. Was the chief defensive architect for the BPNT in the first three WC cycles.Aged 49 and married with three children--a boy and two girls--he will look to the domestic league for talent by focusing on technique, pace, and positional flexibility.

The Playing XI

#1 Steve Leghorn (Goalkeeper)
Steve Leghorn, that name when spoken in Indusse creates a legendary vibe. If anyone asks an Indussean who's your favourite goalkeeper, they would say without wasting a second that it's none other than Steve. Steve is well known due to his performance and his charitable trust. He's a well known figure in the nation who could be a political mastermind. He started his career in Trau de Mongers FC, a local football club in Southbay which soon died after his transfer. His quality performance in the club got him a direct ticket to Southbay Riveria FC B team and soon into the main team. He played for three seasons for Southbay and won the Golden Gloves award in all the seasons. His omnipresent performance got him into the national camp and get him into the best Goalkeeper the nation has ever seen. After this transfer from Southbay to Dhalopura FC, he's been winning all the Golden Gloves in the participated seasons without giving others a chance to snatch them. He's the real saviour of Indusse, saving the nation from the cannon ball like opponent goal shots.

#6 Sampath Singh Aksinwala (Defender)
The Aksinwalas are a well known wrestling clan in Sindvpore. They are those people out there who smash everyone down who stands against them. Sampath Singh Aksinwala could have followed his family customs and traditions and become a wrestling champion smashing all down like a rock. Well, he had started his sporting career as a wrestler back in his 13s but he slowly got interested in soccer and with his fit physique he was a perfect fit for a defender. At his early years, he always got red cards in his matches since he used to throw his opponents away thinking that he is wrestling. The Local Clubs still gave him chance to play and he slowly changed his wrestling in soccer into total defender football. He started to be known all over Sindvpore and he got another call from Sindvpore FC. He still plays for Sindvpore FC and played a major role in their Liga Prima Victory and FFI Cup Victory. He is now the vice captain of Sindvpore FC and is a really important member of the Indussean National Team.

#13 Mathias Paulson (Defender)
Mathias Paulson born to a wealthy Syrian Christian family in Southbay. He wasn't a soccer maniac or something, who would have started playing for clubs before teenage. He started playing at the age of fifteen for several local clubs including his school and college clubs. After this Sport Medicine graduation from Saint Louis Holiness College in Jawaruyah, he got a mail from the Jawaruyah XI FC for being a defence and fitness co trainer. With his outmost hardwork in the game, he soon won a lot of awards and got a call from Rockies International FC for being their defender. He soon left Jawaruyah for Rockies Islands, it was his perfect defending which let the club rise from Division to to Primary Division tournament Liga Prime. The Team reached top three of the primary division tournament after his arrival and he also received a lot of awards for his play. With his arrival in Liga Prime and as a successor to former Rockies Defender Maryland Bruno (Maryland is his nickname because he used to run a cookie brand called Maryland Food), he got into the radar of National team selectors. He later got the call of the selectors to join the national team camp which was the turnover in his career. He soon became a well known defender in the nation and the captain of Rockies International FC.

#4 Aaron McMuller (defender)
Aaron McMuller, born as Aaron Davis Miller is a thirty five year old defender who earned fame during the early transition period. He started playing for Malta FC at the age of Eighteen since his father was the owner of the club. Eventhough it's an unconstitutional admission to the club, he later got to be the key player of the team. His direct ticket to the club without any obstacles made his way to the national camp easy. His defensive analysis gameplay got famed through out Malta and it's neighborhood provinces of Sindvpore and Cheralam. With the fame rising and clubs waiting to get him to their home, the national team selectors caught on him and added him into the national team squad list. Everything was quick for him, the transition from a club player into a professional footballer. The transition from a rich kid into a really rich earning star. The transition from slow paced defense into quick defense and counter strikes... Everything. He is also known as the only defender in Indusse who has scored 100 goals in their domestic history.

#9 Alexis Budtedjson (Mid Fielder)
Alexis Budtedjson, that's the name of the all in all of pass gameplay. Budtedjson has been a major part of the team in every international match played. He has been scoring goals, defending goals and making ways for goals. A complete footballer they say, he's having the chance to be the next captain of Indusse if he doesn't retire. Alexis was born as a neighbor to Baskar Kumar and has been his childhood friend. Both of them started to chase their dreams together and it was Alexis who got into professional football first. Alexis started his professional career with New Hind City FC B team. His perfect play, in the B team got him into Dhalopura FC. His best career club ever, Dhalopura FC got him into fame and later Gav him the ticket to National Team. He scored his first international goal in his debut match and he says that it's his favourite memory. He later got transferred into Sindvpore FC and has been playing for the team. During the colonial era in Indusse, he started working for the national police force (NPF) and he got promoted into the assistant commissioner of Hind City. His wife, Samantha Budtedjson is a well known tennis player of Indusse. She's currently playing in the NSTT for Indusse.

#14 Djetson Hazle (Mid Fielder)
Born as Djetson Hazlett to Dr. Henry Hazlett and Maria Henry in Sindvpore, Djetson change his surname at the age of sixteen to Hazle for joining film industry since there was a prominent star "Philip Hazlett" existing. He couldn't do much in the film industry, which changed his route into football. He played for the national U-18 team due to his absolutely commendable performance for his club Sindvpore FC. His performance also brought him into the national team and got himself as.a key player. He still plays for Sindvpore FC and took part in the Championship of FFI. He is married to Katherine Hazlett, daughter of film star Philip Hazlett. Katherine is also a prominent film star in Indusse. Hazle also took part in futsal and also tried a hand in hockey. But he later realised that he was made for professional soccer.

#12 Rahul B Kumar (Forward)
Rahul B Kumar was born to the legendary soccer star, Baskar H Kumar as his only child in Derasar, Hind. Derasar is an offshore resort island owned by Baskar Kumar and David Beckem. Rahul was born to him when he and his wife was spending their vacation in Derasar. Rahul was send to Valley Bound International School in New Hind City to complete his primary education. At the age of 8, he got himself in the school's junior team and his performance got him to be the captain and at age of 12 as the School team's captain. Just like his father, Rahul took the path to be a striker and sharpshooter. At the age of 15, he got to be part of Hind City FC's B Team and also the Under-16 National Team. His colleague Goblin Grundjee got themselves to the national team. His performance for the under-16s and 19s brought them to the spotlight making way to the national team. They currently play for Neagra FC in the Liga Prime and at the same time they're taking BTech in Sanātana Dharma College, Hind City.

#7 Bechun Butea (Forward)
Once the best substitute to Baskar Kumar, now he faces a lot of competition from his fellow mates out there.Born to the family of footballers, Bechun didn't face any difficulty to choose his career. At the age of seven, his father admitted him to a local coaching center and with the basic skills got him into the Sindvpore Football Federation Training Center. Bechun's father was Takawilaka Butea, who got elected as the President of Sindvpore Football Federation. Bechun played his first professional match for Sindvpore FC and got transferred into Southbay Riveria FC. He later scored a lot of Goals opening his way to the national camp. He played as a captain substitute and vice captain of the national team and captain of Southbay Riveria FC until Baskar Kumar joined. He also played a major role in the Goblin Humanoid Project which created Goblin Grundjee, who's the first non human national player in Indusse. A football goblin was Bechun's idea. He also got the National Sports Academy Mentor post and is currently the cheif mentor of U-18 national team. His brother, Lalguvasara is the coach of Malta FC and his son Jackson Butea is playing for Sindvpore FC under 18 team.

#11 Antonio Mersiás (Forward)
The second youngest recruit in the camp, Antonio Mersiás is a well known youth idol in the nation. He was the captain of Indussean youth team in the Sporting World Cup. He led the team into the semi finals of the tournament till they lost to Starblaydia's young guns. He was born in Karadawadi, a county in Dhalopura to Francis Antony, who was a carpenter and Selina Francis. He lived as a poor kid going to the village school who wasn't so good at academics but bright in sports. His quality sporting skills caught the eyes of the headmaster there, who admitted him to the local football training sessions. The headmaster soon send him to the Jawal-Biesse the nearest city for his studies. He played for the Jawal-Biesse FC for three years and captained the team until he was called to play for the Dhalopura FC. He got selected to the U-18 team as soon as he played his first match for Dhalopura FC. His quality play in the club also got him promoted as the captain of the youth team. His awesome, historical performance for the youth team got him a quick ticket to the National Team Camp. He is currently an important part of the national team who cannot be replaced easily.

#100 Goblin Grundjee (Forward)
Goblin Grundjee who is the first ever non-human sportsperson from Indusse. The Grundjee's are one of the families of the Goblin species that was created by the scientists by DNA Modelling. The scientists created a new race of Goblins through gene editing and combining the DNAs of Humans with certain animals and Algae. The goblin species were divided into three families were Grundjees are one of the major part. The other two families are called Mithys and Auris. The current members of the grundjee family is Colonel Grundjee who is a Colonel in the royal army of Indusse. The gene of colonel Grundjee was created by merging the genes of three colonels of the army with the genes of a eagle and the green algae. The green algae plays a necessary role in getting the green Color of the skin. The other member is Goblin Grundjee who is currently playing for the juniors. His gene was created by merging the genes of David Bekem, a former football and of a wild horse. The green algae is also a necessary part of the composition. The grundjee family has the green composition of skins due to green algae. Whereas, Mithys has a brownish red skin due to the presence of Blue-green Algae with Iron sediments, Auris family has the skin Color of a normal human as there isn't any presence of algae. The skin textures and patterns of the goblins are same as the humans and the color is the only thing that can discriminate it with humans. The scientific community believe that the goblin race will create revolution in the world of science. The creation of Goblin Grundjee was overseen by fellow player Bechun Butea who also played a major role in bringing Grundjee as a experimental player. Well, Grundjee is currently one of the best strikers the nation has seen.

Home Ground

The Aditya Varma Kulashekara International Stadium, is home to the Flocking Blues and is the largest sports stadium in the nation. The Aditya Varma Kulashekara International Stadium can hold 131,561 spectators in normal cases. The most attendance recorded for an event in the stadium was 148,241 spectators. This historical event happened long before the current stadium had been built. The former stadium known as IFA International Stadium had just a capacity of 108,112 and the event was the Sworn-in of Baskar H Kumar as the first president of the Indusse. In other words, the sworn in was also the same as the nation's independence day. The most spectators for a match was recorded as 118,232 spectators for a match between Indusse and Pratapgadh which was once a derby match.
Image

This Stadium was built first by Aditya Varma Kulashekara, the emperor of Indusse at his reign. The stadium was built as part of giving the Indussean Football Association, a home ground. The Stadium at its beginning had a capacity of 62,122 spectators and was later increased to 97,783. The Stadium also in the past hosted the home matches of Royal Hind City FC (Currently, New Hind City FC) and Hind United FC (Currently dissolved). The Hind United FC got dissolved into Royal Hind City FC and the club through enough funding brought some land near the Darbar Halls and built a stadium there which currently serves as their home ground and the nation's secondary home ground. The IFA Stadium was built close to the Hind River and was surrounded by small forests. The place then known to be Kadaathaaaru was chosen for the stadium, the name literally meant to be "Forest River". The stadium continued to host the nation's home matches until the IFA was disbanded after the invasion of the Islamic Conquerors. The Dari Sultanate rulers took over the nation and placed a ban on all sort of native entertainment including music and sports. The stadium was taken under the custody of the Dari Military and was converted into a arena to propagate Dari Propoganda. The Stadium was renamed as Neimat Abdullah Arena and the capacity was increased to 108,112. The Neimat Abdullah Arena also became the public execution grounds of Natives in Indusse. The Dari Supressed Native Freedom Fighters were beheaded, hanged and shot dead at these grounds. After the Independence, the stadium was renamed as IFA Stadium and held the nation's first independence day celebrations. After a few years, it was renamed to Aditya Varma Kulashekara International Stadium and the capacity was increased to 131,561. The Government then also decided to set up a monument for the natives who were killed by the supression. The Divya Azadi Stambh (Divine Freedom Pillar) located in the stadium complex is the so called monument. This Pillar is an important part of the nation's independence day celebrations.

The Valentian International Football Association – We are Independent! We are Big! And We are Green! ♥

Image

IAC 16 was the very first Independents contest for the Valentians, and outside of their own domestic games, World Cup, and Cup of Harmony. The last season saw the Valentians with 1-2-1 for the games, and then getting beaten by Cakranegara in terms of goal difference (GD). “No matter,” Clarissa Alanis Star Samantha thought to herself, treating her players to the best of her abilities and as nicely as possible. “There’s always a next one, and hey, here we are again! Don’t worry, we can do this together!” On top of that, NSSCRA 13 is coming to a conclusion, and this would perhaps give Clarissa the much-needed time to give her team more and more attention as they go on further.

OOC NOTE: No uniforms for the Valentians for the time being. My Adobe subscription ran out, Inkscape and Affinity Designer are unable to replicate the .ai file 1:1, so… maybe soon I will make a new uniform. Previous uniform:

NOTE: Stadium information is copy-pasted from World Cup 91’s RP.

Fate Stadium – Naypyithaw, Burma, territory of Valentine Z. And more information for tourists and players alike.
Contrary to what people might think, everything in Valentine Z are not exactly that large. It’s mostly people and the buildings that have gotten the enlargement treatment, while the natural flora and fauna, as well as the animals, remain the same. So, don’t worry too much about being maimed by a very large cat, or strangled by a 30 meter large python – we definitely don’t have those! Though for the former, Maine Coon cats are still around if that is your favourite cat breed! Anyway, Valentine Z – an Earth in another dimension and universe, is a home to approximately 15 billion Valentians averaging 16 feet in height, and are very, very friendly. Valentine Z is a two-planet power consisting of Earth (except for Australia and New Zealand, which belongs to Vidunderlige Nye Verden), and Mars which was terraformed around 5 to 6 decades after the founding of Valentine Z. Please feel free to look at the guide.

Now for the information regarding the stadium – Fate Stadium, located in the large and vast city of Naypyithaw, Burma, which is one of the countries under Valentine Z instead of being an autonomous region (such as Brazil being under the fair and happy rule of Clarissa Alanis Star Samantha). The Valentians always have had stadiums all over their world as decades go by, with the first few stadiums being established in the 2030s as a result of economic and societal stability after the nuclear war has ended the Pre-Valentian Era. Even then, none would have been as large as the aptly named Fate Stadium that was build back in the 2060s, home to many of the domestic sports that were played in Valentine Z - from the commonly known Olympics, to even Mesoamerican Ball Game known as Pitz which was dated to be played as early as 1650 BCE. Only difference is that we never sacrificed the winning or the losing team (nor the captains or managers) because, well, we don’t do sacrifices! Anyway, since then, the Fate Stadium has been subjected to many changes along the way, most in the form of improvements.

2035: The Stadium was first established and revealed to the public.
2037: Completion of the Fate Stadium.
2040: First Valentian Olympics held.
2041: First Pitz game organized and played. Also the very first time the stadium is changed for renovation and for a change of sports.
2050: More seats added.
2055: Addition of the far-viewers for the audience. (More details on this below.)
2088: Blown into pieces due to the Multiversal War. The Valentians lost a lot of Earth and Mars back then, though thankfully the causalities were kept to a minimum.
2093: Rebuilt after re-terraforming, then used for various sports and events, notably one for home matches of Valentine Z.

Fate Stadium boasts good acoustics, as well as large seats that were meant for Valentians. Fun fact: Discounting the cybernetic enhancements, oversized exoskeletons, Hollywood-style radiation mutations, and the like, the average height of a Valentian is 493.19 cm / 16' 2". In other words, international guests and folks will find it extremely comfortable and no longer will be doing balancing acts on their seats as they try their best to hold onto their props and snacks whilst still cheering for their favorite team. The seats will have more than enough space for an average human visitor (~ 6 ft), with plenty of legroom to spare. You certainly won’t feel like a little child on a very large and oversized adult seat, we will reassure you that. The Fate Stadium also has a seating capacity of 333,000 people, measuring a staggering and impressive 1120 meters by 934 meters, and possibly occupying a LOT of space. To offset the carbon footprint of such a place, the stadium has a lot of green spaces and was built using materials from sustainable sources. It took 3.5 months to build, mostly thanks to Valentijn being a good construction worker that doubles as a large crane. This is along with many other Valentians who have used their own powers to build the stadium, negating the need for a large number of paid workers, let alone unpaid workers.

Each seat and audience member is also provided with a decently-sized portable monitor upon being admitted into the stadium, we have built to IP69K, as well as bragging a 8K resolution. Each of these screens were then linked and connected to the array of overhead cameras all over the football field that would, in essence, present a 360-degree view of the field and the players alike. The arrays of camera are also powerful enough to see every single action in impeccable detail, and those who missed the action can rewind up to 30 minutes of playback from their respective screens. If you would like these gadgets, alongside other merchandise, the Fate Stadium also has room for such a thing. We Valentians sell our very own merchandise. There is plenty of purchasing options for everyone, with discounts to boot, with all proceeds going to charities or on improving the public infrastructure of Valentine Z. Additionally, we have up to 40 vacant stalls (out of the 150) if there are budding sellers who would like to sell their items in Valentine Z for our matchday. Simply approach Head Secretary Jamie Izabella Maxie Clara “The Elegant and Magnificent Mathematician” Pernella Ellie Natie Lexie Marie Valerie Ruby Æstriðr Fni. Clementine Millicent Lizbeth Alex Cass Eirian (Jamie Izabella Alex Cass Eirian) for details and contracts that you may need to sign.

For IAC 17, and in the off chance that our stadium is picked, we will do our best to make Valentine Z even more hospitable than it already is, and to reassure everyone that our happiness and cheerfulness are always genuine and are never put up for show only. Admittedly, there may not be a lot of ticket sales and viewership for IAC as compared to World Cup and Cup of Harmony, but nonetheless, the Valentians are expecting billions of unique viewers from across both planets. Visitors to Valentine Z can also enjoy taking portals (we are not that big about teleportation when it comes to living beings) across the planet, or to our second planet – Mars – and enjoy the terraformed scenery as well. For those who would like to give their stomachs an adventure (and in a good way), Valentians have a LARGE variety and quantity of food across the different cultures for everyone to enjoy, and for all kinds of diets.

West Barack and East Obama's Stadium Bid

The West Barack and East Obama Ministry of Defence, with the advice of the President's Office, are proud to announce that the nation are bidding to host matches of the Independent Associations Championship 17 in the state-of-the-art Pentagram Underworld stadium. The nation are excited for this opportunity as this will be the first time matches from a major sporting tournament's finals could take place in the United States.

The Pentagram Underworld is a stadium with a seating capacity of five thousand people, making it the largest football stadium in the country due to recent renovations. It is located in Jakartington WB, the capital of the United States, and is a large building that can easily be spotted and is accessible by all kinds of public transport. The Underworld may be small but it offers a highly unique, one-of-a-kind experience for fans of the sport. The Underworld is located deep underground the Pentagram, West Barack and East Obama's Defence Headquarters. As the Pentagram is a highly secure building, fans can enjoy the football without worrying about flares, pickpocketing or riots disrupting the experience. An army of security guards will serve as armed stewards, ensuring that the focus is entirely on the sport.

Large lamps powered by solar energy illuminate the pitch, allowing for fans to view the match as clearly as they can. The climate of the arena is tightly controlled by large air-conditioners, set to the optimal temperature for players to play. Just a few levels up at Basement 1, a wide assortment of food and beverages can be purchased at the numerous stores. Taco Bell, The Golden Tomato, Sozha Sodas - whether you want a pre-match meal or a snack to chew instead of your fingernails during a tense game, Basement 1 has everything you need.

As the Pentagram Underworld offers a quality match experience for fans, it is expected that only the most committed and suitable fans can get access to the limited seating. Thus, any away fans wishing to purchase a ticket will need to do so a minimum of 48 days in advance, and supply any and all personal details for security vetting. All fans will also be required to take 'Memory Serum' to erase any potential memories of events occurring in the Pentagram that may be accidentally viewed. Of course, the serum is specially crafted that the match will continue to remain in your memories clear as day. Maybe.

The Pentagram Underworld previously hosted matches between the West Barack and East Obama National Team during its qualification matches for the 92nd World Cup, as well as rehearsal space for various military marches and parades. All fans should be assured that no poisoning will take place during the IAC 17 matches and all security protocols are in place to prevent such incidents from occurring.

All of us in West Barack and East Obama hope to see all of you at the Pentagram Underworld!

The Beaucester Gazette
Tollington Park Entered as Venue for Independents Cup
Planned expansion to 27,500 capacity pushed ahead

In the runup to the Independents Cup 17, the FF have entered Mosfleet Albion's Tollington Park as their submission for a potential host site. The stadium's selection has accelerated efforts to expand the stadium capacity up to 27,500, including an overhaul of the main stand and the catering facilities.

Tollington Park was originally built in 1932, purpose built as the home of Mosfleet Albion, in the north of the city close to the port. The stadium has largely remained unchanged to date, whilst seating were installed on the grandstand along one of the longer sides, it has otherwise remained an all terraced stadium until very recently. In order to qualify for international standards, the whole stadium has been recently converted to all seating on two sides, with removable seating available along the alternate two sides. The seating has limited the capacity in recent years, bringing it to about 17,000, well under requirement for the national team and for Albion as well.

The proposed expansion would extend the Kop end's capacity through removing the roof, which given Elmyia's clement weather would pose few issues. Additionally, the main stand is going to have significant work done to install additional capacity, building upwards. These changes will also require an overhaul of the catering facilities, which have been subject to long queues and complaints from various fans prior to expansion.

As a stadium, it has often been commended for its atmosphere. National team games at this ground have been commended, having the fans so close to the pitch, and the steep rise of the sounds help to contain noise and encourage vociferous chanting. The introduction of seating in place of terracing was initially controversial for its impact on atmosphere, but this has proved unfounded, with Albion maintaining some of the best support in the country.

For the tournament, the stadium is ideally situated. Mosfleet airport has been operating under capacity for years, with a mooted tourism boom never materialising, so there is plenty of scope for expanding inward flights from a plethora of destinations. Whilst Mosfleet has often been thought of as the uglier of the two big Elmyian cities, playing host to a large port and with a concrete dominant skyline, it is better placed in terms of food and accommodation than anywhere else. The city is served by an extensive light rail network, so visitors will find it easy to get between the stadium and the centre of town.

Mosfleet will likely take the opportunity of hosting to announce itself as an international city of consequence. For years, it has been considered a dull, industrial backwater. F. Scott Fitzgerald christened it a 'blot on the mediterranean', lacking the elegance of other cities and 'lacking character'. Now, though, Mosfleet is working hard to make it Elmyia's must visit destination for nightlife, food and entertainment. The old town and surrounding areas play host to an exciting mix of Elmyia's three cultures, the Anglo, Italian and Greek. It is the one city where there is significant mixing between the three communities, giving it a much less reserved feel than most Elmyian cities.

The old town itself is worth a visit for anyone staying overnight for a game, built in medieval times, visitors will be greeted by a series of winding, cobbled streets, packed with characterful buildings, playing host to some great cafes, bars and hole in the wall eateries. The area itself is small, but between a drink in piazza del granito, a tour of the 13th century cathedral which climbs high above its surroundings and a tour of the People's History of Mosfleet museum, there is half a day's worth of attractions here. Visitors might also want to take some time to explore Esquilar, an ugly area just adjacent to the medieval centre, it plays host to the most innovative restaurant scene on the island, as well as its trendiest bars and clubs.

Whilst small, Tollington Park is a loveable old venue in a chronically underappreciated city. It may not be the strongest bid, but it is hard to think of somewhere that could benefit more from playing host to international football.

The Overlap
Elmyia - The Good, The Bad and the Ugly

Going into the Independent Cup 17, Elmyia's 4th tournament, there are hopes the side can finally shake off its group stage blues and progress for the first time in 4 tournaments. Green shoots of progress during World Cup qualifying gave way to a tepid exit at the last Cup of Harmony, overshadowed by Vesper Benedetti's issues with becoming a teen wolf. Elmyia have a record of three eliminations in a row, scoring only 13 goals in 13 games. Here's reason to think, and to doubt, why it might be better this time around.

The Good

Elmyia's form at the end of World Cup qualifying was strong, and suggested they were ready to take on anyone. The 3-5-2 system they settled on allowed Massi to get most of his best players on the pitch, and provided ample defensive cover to facilitate raids forward. Benedetti and Byng clearly benefitted upfront, finding a strong streak of form in their goal scoring, but the real revelations were the wing-backs. On the left, Scoular performed admirably, covering her side of the pitch and putting in good service. Katsouranis, meanwhile, started to look like Elmyia's best player. As a winger she had previously hugged the touchline for most performances, but here she had the freedom of the wing and half-space, pushing into positions as required and stretching other teams down the right-hand side. She often lacks the burst of pace, or the trickery, to go beyond oppositon players, but her position and workrate have more than compensated.

Beyond individual performances, Massi's overhaul of the fitness of the team, and his ability to change the system they play are very positive signs. With these changes, the team has learnt to play zonally, rather than player to player, and work on situational pressing has made them far harder to play through than before. They have gone from playing an outdated, budget version, of catenaccio, to being a solid mid-block, able to vary their style of play against opponent. It remains to be seen if Massi can adapt the team to find more goals and deliver in those tight tournament moments, but he has done enough to retain people's trust.

The Bad

Within the Elmyian team, there are few stand out players, and it should be questioned how many, if any, of the players would break into other international sides. Katsouranis has done a great job in her role, Mario Freschi is a great on pitch leader, but beyond them the rest of the player's quality really has to be questioned. The midfield lacks a real leader, staffed as it is by younger players, and it can look lightweight and prone to brain freeze on the big occassions. As a unit it also lacks a player to get the ball from the defence into the middle and final third of the pitch, leaving them reliant on long-balls, or mistakes from the opposition. Some hope Kit Simmons will take over this role, and he has certainly impressed for AS Samita. Simmons is only 19 though, and has one season of experience at a senior level. It is questionable whether his time has come yet.

Additionally, the backline looked increasingly suspect at the Cup of Harmony. All three centre-backs, and Ernest Butler in goal, do have some seriously good attributes. All the centre-backs are good as covering their zone, and are excellent one on one defenders. But, they struggle when caught on the break, leaving serious gaps when running backwards, some also argue they still look unnatural holding an offside trap, undermining Elmyia's attempts to hold possession. Butler, meanwhile, is a great goaline keeper. He has excellent reflexes, positioning against attackers and has a good record against spot kicks. His distribution, however, an ability to sweep up the ball are both major weaknesses.

This causes issues further forward, the backline can only advance so far before the space behind them is a serious issue, and so Elmyia can struggle to sustain attacks. Elmyia can't pen teams in, and this is often the cause of Elmyia's inability to get key goals. When one goal down and seeking a goal they can't keep the ball in the oppostion half, it gets cleared long to the back line, and by the time Elmyia have it in a dangerous positon against the face a packed defence. This was never more obvious than in the 1-0 defeat to Ziwana at the Cup of Harmony, where Elmyia's attack looked blunt as they sought out a tournament saving equaliser.

The Ugly

The real downside for Elmyia currently, however, are less to do with the squad itself. The structural forces governing Elmyian football don't look well set to produce the kind of talent required to compete in tournaments. We might see Elmyia achieve their short term aims soon, making it out of a group stage in a tournament, making progress in qualifying. But, progressing to the later rounds, and competing with the best, look a long way off.

The current state of training facilities, and youth coaching, are producing players who lack the technical qualties of their peers. Elmyia look unlikely to produce many players with the first touch to operate in tight spaces, the passing range to unpick defences, or the dribbling ability to drive through oppositions teams. Additionally, Elmyian players low profile is hindering their ability to move abroad and learn from other, stronger, domestic leagues.

Overall, Elmyia look better set than before to make it out of a group stage for the first time ever. Massi has tactical options to switch the style of play, either overloading the middle or the wings, and could squeak the results required. But, questions remain over just where this group's ceiling is.

NEW PORTLAND STATES INDEPENDENT ASSOCIATIONS CUP ROSTER

Coach: Guillermo Williams

Formation: 4-3-3
RP Permissions: Whatever you can do I can do
Style Mod: +2

The Team: Plays a tiki-taka passing style that uses lots of longballs to force the opponent to play less aggressive. The team has a weak counterattack, however they make up for it with a rather studious play around the net, where they try and hammer shot after shot. The strikers are relatively young and don’t really care what happens as long as they throw shots on net and force the other team to try and play around them. Lester Cooper is a experienced goalie whose play in the domestic league impressed Williams enough to get a surprise start in the Independent Associations Cup.

TROLLEBORG NATIONAL TEAM

Nickname: Trolls

Total official games in every tournament +181=56–94 with 555 goals for and 369 against.
Team preferred uniform is all-green, sometimes used all-red, and only occassionally blue. White-green and white-green-black albeit worn in first international seasons, is out of use for some time.

NATIONAL TEAM

Trolleborg team nearing end of nineth season in the international sport. After very disappointing World Cup campaign fans pinned hopes on IAC, but it was seen, are team in due shape for any spectacular.

COACH

Morten Troghil, who was now 60-years old, is a manager of the team since its creation. But recently he voiced his concern about inability to do something in current circumstances of world football and even talk about resignation. Fans and all sports community, nevertheless, are solidly behind him.

PLAYERS

Morten Troghil made some change in team composition between World Cup and IAC, but not too drastic.
Altought first-choice central defender in 3-5-2 scheme is clearly Du Riis, and in 4-4-2 it was most probably William Schendel in addition to him, most probably Troghil will use new players in the group tournament to see how they fare. And he clearly will experimenting with various players in the centre of midfield line if tournament situation is allowed, since many key players are nearing finish of their international career. Morten Troghil, as many thinks, try to avoid common mistake of many coaches to look for players of the same type as those who have retired, in the hope of using the game scheme that worked before, and does not try to find a couple of players to replace the strike duet of the early years of our team, but is looking for new combinations with new faces. Coach also express his intention to keep eye on the international club tournaments, where our teams are probably to begin play soon, and some players can be added to the IAC squad if prove their capability to play on such a level.

GOALKEEPERS

Morten Kerr (27). Younger brother of now retired from international football iconic forward Stuart Kerr, he played as number one in the first ever international tournaments in the Trolleborg history, U18 Cup in S&T, known as very skilful and intelligent player. But some not-too-spectacular performances in the WC-92 move him back on the bench
Jesper Krogh (28 years). Very fast player who already prove himself on both league and international level, who prove himself good at the second floor, without losing something in his first floor game skills. But he did’t succeed in filling shoes of great Kot Kotsson, many expressed view that he lost something that needed to progress and move forward.
Torben Fingall (24). When Trolleborg coaches need to select three goalkeepers, it is common to look for two of about equal value, and choose third either from a wise veteran or a very young talent, and although Morten Trogil usually opted for the first choice, this player is from second category. Prove himself efficient and reliable, he has a great talant of well-positioning himself, and extremely fast in addition.

DEFENDERS

Kasper Wolters (32). He is very strong, and relatively fast for his already advanced age. In the past he substituted right midfielders and use his crossing skill to add something to the attacking might of the team, but right now prefer to concentrate on the defensive duties. National team coach recently moved him to the bench and use younger players on the right flank of defence, but he nevertheless take him and one of the younger players rather then two younger.
Jesper Loonstrup (27). Right back\winger, he is flank defender in the preferred Trolleborg style – fast moving, adept in supporting attacking moves, willingly throw himself in the way of the ball, aggressive in tackling. Probably he will be number one on this position.
William Schendel (27). Versatile fast moving defender known for his skillful positioning and man-marking, highly effective in breaking opposition attacks, great in the heading, with incredible high crosses-interception rate. His performance at the national league is constantly great, but ones the last international tournaments is not inspiring at all.
Joran Du Riis (30). Cold-blooded fighter prove that he more than capable holding his own at the highest level. Altough looking somehow bulky, he is agile and fast-moving, he used this for his advantage, play his part with composure and responsibility.
Brand Paine (27). This central defender solidly build, but faster than looks, master of aerial game, he defends with class and also add himself to the attacking might of the team when situation allowed. Calmness and confidence his important qualities, but it will be seen, how he fare in the international football.
Aien Troger (33). This strongly build defender have a lot of experience and extremely good in tackling, it’s very challenging to move into the box past him and he made life extremely difficult for the many famed forwards on the international scene. Apart from Wolters he is only defender who goes all the way from the first games of the national team. It was widely understood, that IAC is his last tournament and even here he will be mainly as substitute in the time of need.
Joos Haankrands (26). Left defender, agile and fast, he has many things to be the first-rate star on his position in the years to come.
Joran Rijsager (28). Left defender or central defender as coach see fit, he concedes nothing to rivals and rarely makes a mistakes. But many critics count him as a too slow and wistful for international games – and things turn that they are right at the end. But Joran is learning fast, and looked like if he improved fast.

MIDFIELDERS

Jesper Gronholm (28). When Troghil invite him, not many expected that he will grab permanent spot at the squad, but he did. He play as right winger at the national team, willingly join any move forward, where he pass ball quickly and thoughtfully, already prove this in the recent games.
Kendall Woldring (27). Swift and quick-thinking left midfielder/winger, this player is known for his speed, dribbling and precise passing. He was known for his turns on the run, which was very difficult for defenders (at least ones available to the Trolleborg club teams) to cope with.
Soren Wittingem (27). Strong player who can run incessantly whole 90 minutes, distributes ball well due to his great passing ability and perfect knowledge of game, and also shows considerable tenacity and real class at his duties as defensive midfielder, as it was extremely difficult to go past him. Altought he don’t make to the height of work recently retired Hendrick Groningen, and, unfortunately, prove this in the WC-92, he remain one of the best available Trolleborg players on this position.
Seymour Haarendorp (26). Capable both to stem opposition attacks and instigate our own, this
midfielder combine bravery and toughness in correct measures.
Brutil Skrta (27). Very complete player, who posessed ability, stamina, flair, technique and resoluteness in just perfect mix. Shows tremendous accuracy when passing, fine distant shooting skills, he moved very fast and have a great ability to lost his markers – in the local championship, but, unfortunately, not too good in this in the international football.
Kenneth Pathmoor (28). This central midfielder can cover a lot of space in the middle and with his pace, agility and an eye for goal he willingly can find net himself or conjure goal opportunity for his forwards.
Morten Troll (33). Genius of game, with a wonderful dribbling, beautiful technique, excellent pass and extremely good shot, he won many games for his local team single-handedly, but also a great team player with great repertoire of tricks. He was one of the main creators of the all Trolleborg football successes, but right now he is nearing end of his international career, and this was a worry for not only head coach.
Brutil Hoog (28). Used on the club levels as either attacking midfielder or central one, this hardworking teamplayer moved very fast and turns well, he passed ball very accurately, but his shots on goal is not very precise – which is a big disadvantage for a Trolleborg player on such a position.
Kasper Windass (28). Broad and strong left midfielder, he looked a little bit sluggish when moving without ball, but everything changes when he have it. Then he moved extremely fast, sweeping away everything in its path due to his mighty build and usually ended move with a clever pass.
Karsten Gould (27). This versatile midfielder can play as a left midfielder or forward if needed. But his passing much better than shooting skills, so he prefer not to make long shots, instead move into the box very fast and try to make dangerous continuations.

FORWARDS

Torben Kranforde (26). Very fast forward, who have special ability to surprise rival defenders. He also posessed a great skill of positioning himself very well, constantly avoid markers like if using magic, and regularly sent many defenders and goalkeepers into despair with his precise and deadly shots from both feet. He prove himself prolific scorer at all recent tournaments team taking part of, but, unfortunately, this was not enough for him to step into the Stuart Kerr shoes.
Kroonquist, Morten (27). This fast forward known for intensity of his game, and he is capable to maintain workrate in all 90 minutes. With enviable quickeness he moved very fast, turns very well, constantly pressurized rival defenders, with or without balls, and always trying winning back posession. He prove himself as a prolific goal scorer in recent tournament, but there was a doutbs, if he is up to the height that our team needed to won right now.
Shelton Wieghorst (28). This player is recent addition to the team, mighty big player can make a powerful headers and wreak havoc near the opposition gates, but he is not a tank-type player and demonstrate a lot of creativity when dealing with opposition defenders – at least on the club level.
Gerard Reuzer (26). This tall and sturdy forward being called up to the national team first time, and many look at him with hope. With addition to the good dribbling skills he controls ball well and can shot from either feet or holding ball up until his teammated arrived. He also can contribute to the team efforts by his good headers.

TEAM TACTICS AND GAME STYLE

With Morten Troghil at the helm team always practiced attractive attacking game on a fast pace, with a varied passing and good teamwork. Usually played 4-4-2 with defenders pressed forward and flank midfielders join attacks whatever possible, or 3-5-2 with a midfielders move back and forth as things dictated. Integral and inalienable part of the team’s game will be mighty pressing, applied whatever on the field when ball is not on our side.

National psyche tell players to put everything even if odds are heavily against, so almost every match in the league played with high determination, and national team shirt oblige one who wore it for even more efforts – altought it was visible, that players often compeletely lose breath when unexpected setbacks occur. And this is precisely what happened in the recent tournaments.

Unsportsmanlike behavior is highly discouraged even if in the interests of the cause, and national team players are required to meet the highest standards possible, so it is completely impossible to imagine a player of the Trolleborg national team faking injury or begging for a penalty. It is expected that players who have a choice to fall and appeal for penalty and try to continue game choce latter without a doubts. But players are not easily bullied, though, and more than able to stand up for themselves both as individuals and as a team, and have a strong inclination to go tit-for-tat in case of excessive brutality on the opponent’s part. Refereeing in the last tournaments was sometimes substandard, and many players have developed habit to ask referees uncomfortable questions about their controversial decisions right on the spot, and most recently some sort of pressing on the referees was observed. It will be seen, are this tendency will develop.

Style –5.

No, there was no confusion, team played attacking football on the field, while having negative style modifier for a scorinating purposes.

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:
Choose my goalscorers: Yes
Godmod scoring events: No
RP injuries to my players: Yes, but I reserve right to estimate injury severeness.
Godmod injuries to my players: No
Hand out yellow cards to my players: Yes
Hand out red cards to my players: Yes only for a last ditch fouls or two yellows, any other variants must be discussed with me.
Godmod other events: No, but if you have something interesting in mind, let me know and we try to find a middle ground.
(Altought this will be most probably in vain) We invite everyone in our group to collaborate in role-playing and make a stories together.

OUR FANS

Fans is a pride of Trolleborg and almost part of the team, having already earning themselves a name and a good reputation at every place where national team playing. They are much less noisy in last years, and considerable narrowed scope of their activity, but remains a huge boost for the team whatever it goes, producing a sheer amount of noise from the first to the last minute of games.

DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF ABANHFLEFT
NATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL TEAM - WOMEN'S

Perhaps it was a bit too much for us to expect that Abanhfleft will be able to make it into the World Cup after winning the Women's World Cup. Maybe we should keep our expectations a little more realistic and down-to-earth this time around. Maybe winning the Independent Associations Championship will be a more realistic goal for this group of players, although they won't be under the guidance and tutelage of Kate Bernanos anymore as she had left her post as manager of the Abanhfleft women's football team after the end of the qualifiers for the 92nd World Cup for failing to qualify into the Big Kahuna.

BASIC INFORMATION
Name of nation: Democratic Republic of Abanhfleft
Demonym: Fleftic
Team colors: White (home), red and blue (away)
Style modifier: +2.00
Formation: 4-2-3-1 (This will be standard unless I change it through RPs)
Head coach: Heinrich Wurzmann (78 y/o, Abanhfleft/Pridnestrovia)

STARTERS
GK: Inocencia PENDERGRAFT 24 y/o, Ogovlich Medusas Image
Inocencia (or Ina for short because let's face it, Ina is much easier to say that Inocencia) is a good goalkeeper by most metrics. However, poor passing skills and the fact that her pace is pretty unsatisfactory in an era of sweepers pretty much kept her rooted to her current club in the second tier of the Fleftic Women's Premier League. She is pretty much expected to stick to staying inside her box as much as possible as she doesn't want her lack of pace to be exposed even more than it already is.

RB: Ilda FAUSTI 24 y/o, Uthilmir United Image
Ilda Fausti is, for all intents and purposes, a very good defender. She has good pace and can quickly recover from a situation where she might get caught out, and her stamina is in such an excellent state that she can cover the entire right flank for the entirety of the ninety minutes and still have enough to spare. The only thing she can't really do is score a goal, and that's not really part of the description of being a fullback, is it?

RCB: Rose BANE 25 y/o, Uthilmir United Image
Rose is perhaps the only member of the defense in that under-18 team in the 13th Under-18 World Cup who managed to escape that collapse with her reputation still fairly intact. Her reward for this is gaining a starting spot in the women's national team for the Jenna Raven/Women's World Cup. Rose generally has a good defensive head on her but is still often overcome by the rashness of youth. Age and experience has finally blunted her eagerness, but there are a few moments here and there where she will still go all in on that slide tackle.

LCB: Margo KAHN 25 y/o, Wanda Island Wanderers Women Image
On the surface, Margo looks like she's a very good defender, and to her credit, she is. It's just that the other parts of her game are very lacking, to say the least. She can't pass to her fellow center back or the goalkeeper to save her life, and once an opposing player gets past her, that's pretty much the end of Margo's defensive involvement. However, Margo is actually good in the air, and that makes her a threat in set pieces no matter who's taking them, her team or the opponent.

LB: Ashley JAXSON 23 y/o, Xemlice Rovers Ladies Image
There isn't a lot that makes Ashley stand out on the pitch. She's a good defender with average stamina and adequate pace, meaning that she can patrol the left flank to her heart's content so long as she isn't exerting herself. She can even send in the occasional cross, but don't expect it to do anything but hit the first defender trying to block it, and even then, Ashley understands that that isn't really part of her job description. But Ashley does stand out on the pitch literally as the only player six feet high or above currently representing the Lady Revolutionaries in this tournament.

RM: Whitney ZILAHI 23 y/o, Sarvusdalamoive Ladies Image
Another player whose looks (or more accurately, what her skills look like) are very much deceiving. Whitney looks like a box-to-box midfielder to the casual observer, and it would look like she has the skills to do the job. Her stamina and pace are both excellent for the job of going back and forth between the boxes, and her passing is so formidable that she can pretty much pass the ball wherever she wants. However, all of this hides the fact that she is actually a poor defender. Then again, with an enforcer like Tatiana Tos by her side, does Whitney really need to be that good at defending?

LM: Tatiana TOS 28 y/o, Xemlice Rovers Ladies Image, captain
Every team worth its salt needs an enforcer in the midfield, and Tatiana Tos is that enforcer. Tatiana was born in the Fhulghamous Peninsula but chose to represent Abanhfleft instead because the Fhulghamous' women's football program is simply woeful, to say the least. This will surely make her want to prove that she truly deserves the call-up to the senior Fleftic team. Five years on and she's still trying to prove herself as she's always been on the outside looking in. Maybe this time, she will finally prove herself to the SFA.

RW: Mae WILBANKS 25 y/o, Riuwiee United Women Image
Mae might just be the winger that Abanhfleft has been looking for all of these years. She has an engine that can make her go up and down the flanks for as long as she needs to, and she has those pinpoint-accurate crosses in her arsenal enabling her to find teammates in the middle of a sea of defenders. She can even get back and defend in the event of a counterattack; she's just that fast. But Mae is really at her best going down the wings and being a threat from the sides, and if she can't cross then she can just go for goal herself.

CAM: Josefine VITAGLIANO 24 y/o, Wanda Island Wanderers Women Image
Another bright spot in that disastrous DBC 48 campaign. Josefine would prefer to be able to become a second striker or a false 9 drifting in and out of pockets of space, and while she is still unable to do that at the moment due to tactics, at least being a central attacking midfielder puts her in a somewhat similar position. Josefine will just have to come from deeper from the field than she would like.

LW: Lily NATIVIDAD 26 y/o, Wanda Island Wanderers Women Image
Lily is of a similar mold to Mae Wilbanks, a creative and effective winger with the speed to come back and serve in defense if needed, but just like Mae, Lily is best utilized as an out-and-out winger who sends crosses into the box and provides a goalscoring threat for the opposition's defense to worry about. However, the one downside to Lily's game is that her stamina sucks. After playing sixty minutes, she just falls off a cliff and is barely even a player. But apart from that, she is no doubt a threat on the pitch.

ST: Hiroko KELLERMAN 27 y/o, Rosenpfelblatz City Women Image, vice-captain
Kellerman won the Golden Boot in the Fleftic Premier Development League 1 for Rosen City Women with a 23-goal haul in the 2028-29 season, earning her a promotion up to the senior women's team where she continued her goalscoring form with 21 goals for 2029-30, making her the highest goalscorer for the Citizens that season. She earned a call-up to the under-21 team for the 48th Di Bradini Cup, where she was one of the few bright spots in an otherwise disastrous campaign which once again convinced the SFA to boycott the Di Bradini Cup yet again. The boycott didn't last for long, but Hiroko herself has become a mainstay in the Fleftic women's team during that time, and she will continue leading the line in the Jenna Raven Cup.

SQUADRA NAZIONALE DI JUVENCUS

Image

Information about Juvencus:
Capital: Pomena
Population: 130,656,702 ethnic Juven, with a total of 150,048,720 including naturalised immigrants.
Demonym: Juven
Country Code: JUE
Football Association: JFA(Juven Football Association)
Nicknames: Gli attaccanti(The attackers), La squadra(The team)
Football philosophy: At this point, to play football in Juvencus you need to understand that no matter who you are, pushing forward is the MOST essential core value you can bring in your game. Both strikers and defenders alike are equally likely to strike from any range at any time. Defense is not neglected, but is not as valued as being a scary goalscorer up front.

Starting XI:

GK:Juan Carlos Ungaro(Age 24)(U.S Scudelli)
Description: Taddeo Bulgari's retirement from international football has basically paved the way for Juan Carlos Ungaro to showcase his goalkeeping abilities on the big stage as la squadra's main goalkeeper. A positionally adept goalkeeper with a keen eye and focus on the game and with fast reflexes to top it all off. He is the perfect goalkeeper to sustain many oppositional attacks when it matters most.

CB:Carlo Callejon(Age 27)(Brattleboro FCImage)(Second Captain)
Description: Callejon was dropped off by Chromatik club Wirr Tsi on their quest to strengthen their squad. This ungrateful behavior by the club has spited Carlo Callejon who is essentially at his peak. He is quick, and while hot-headed manages to at least keep his composure when he is pocketing strikers of all shaped and sizes. He possesses an accurate tackle and will rarely, if ever, get carded for that. He is also a leading presence in the pitch and is rumored to take over the lead from Martell as soon as his time is over.

CB:Pau Puig(Age 24)(AC Serone)
Description: Puig is a giant flesh wall to get through, while slow, he tends to position right and is impossible to dribble past. Other than that, he is also able to keep his teammates in check when it really matters and is very football-smart. He is also the defence's only reliable aerial duel winner, winning most, if not all aerial duels he participates in.

CB:Izotz Ibarra(Age 34)(AC Pomena)
Description: Ibarra is no player to quit, he is still a strong positioned player and has an infamous crossing ability that few Juven players possess. Age might be creeping onto him but most of the time he will still perform as if he is in his peak years. He is still the main mentor for the younger defenders that he has bonded with over the years.

CDM:Josefina Portieri(Age 24)(TihonImage)
Description: Josefina Portieri is a classic example of an accurate Juven passer and strong long distance shooter, traits that give her a commanding presence on the pitch. She is a player that can quickly change the tide of the game if given enough space, either by a surprise through-ball or even a goal out of nowhere. She is also a very technical player, with exceptional dribbling ability and is great at carrying the ball forward.

CDM:Pierre-Didier Kouyaté(Age 27)(U.S Scudelli)
Description: The half-Banijan mastermind of the team, Kouyaté has always been dubbed as the successor of Russo when it comes to his playstyle. Much like him, he might dictate the speed and pace of la squadra's play, with an excellent vision and brilliant passing ability to show for it, which contributes to the high amount of assists he provides. He can also fulfill the duties of a supplementary defender, as he possesses iron lungs and can move freely all around the pitch.

RM:Júlien Cantù(Age 32)(Dhun Lagarr FCImage)
Description: Cantù has always been the orchistrator of right wing offenses, an accurate passer and pretty decent dribbler, he sticks to the sidelines most of the time. Might give that cheeky unexpected assist from out of nowhere and is also a very keen goalscorer, especially from mid-range since he has a very odd shooting technique that gives any ball that jabulani(stole that from RLStates, ha) effect.

LM:Michelangelo Santini(Age 29)(Dhun Lagarr FCImage)
Description: Santini is the fastest sprinter on the pitch. That is not his only trait, however as his speed usually gives him a lot of space to work with and organise multiple attacks from the sides, with a lot of volleys and crosses coming from his part to provide for a lot of goals that the team is meant to score.

LF:Joaquim Martell(Age 38)(Ausharmuj MarusiImage)(Captain)
Description: This man has gotten old, but for some reason his touch is still golden. That left foot can score any kind of goal from any side of the pitch, he can provide assists, he is still the most terrifying Juven presence on the pitch and for some reason he does not seem to be slowing down, despite his age, being fast and agile still. Expect a lot of goal participations from the player who could perhaps be the most legendary in Juven history and one of the most underrated players of all time.

RF:Joao Pereyra(Age 25)(BrinemouthImage)
Description: A technical player, with the ball always stuck on his feet no matter how many people you dump on him. Once given the space, his finishing could be considered one of the most clinical in the team. While he also does not shy away from providing tons of assists for his teammates, since his dribbling ability also gives him a lot of space to work with. He was a starter for Brinemouth's squad in their Associations' Trophy victory, and with his mentality through the roof, he will be a main man for this time.

CF:Julio Campana(Age 24)(New Lakeland Soccer ClubImage)
Description: Julio Campana comes from a line of goalscorers. A strong right foot, he usually scores rockets when it comes to scoring from long distance and usually prefers to use his weaker left foot for chips and close-range shooting, for extra efficacy. He has a devastating header with a high goal percentage which is owed to the fact that his explosive jumps make him perfect for winning aerial duels. He had a monster season in Cassadaigua, crushing every single opponent and hogging pretty much every single award available to him.

Main Substitutions:

GK:Sócrates Wright(Age 22)(AC Pomena)
Description: Wright might be a surprise entry in this list. But fret not as he possess undeniably the best vision out of any goalkeeper in the Campionato and managed to save the AC Pomena side from multiple embarrassments with his excellent leaps and heroics. He is a clutch goalkeeper and perfect for saving penalties.

CB:Lucia Agnelli(Age 23)(Victoriaville CityImage)
Description: Positionally adept with great tackling ability. Lucia Agnelli has all that is required of a Juven defender. Due to her small stature and short gravity center, she is also able to attempt risky dribbles on the defensive side with a high success rating.

CB:Carlos Coste(Age 23)(Glenmount TownImage)
Description: Coste has an eagle eye, with a good crossing ability. Aside from that he is very focused in the game and possesses highly accurate passing that is useful for fast counter-attacks.

CDM:Giuseppe Conte(Age 25)(AC Serone)
Description: Giuseppe Conte is not the flashiest player in the team, however he possesses a high effectiveness level in regards to his crossing ability as well as a sickening ball handling technique that makes it hard to get the ball away from him.

CDM:Félix Sissoko(Age 24)(Kingston FCImage)
Description: When in need, call Sissoko. Sissoko can instigate attacks out of thin air with a simple cross, or just a pass. His vision allows him to be always updated on the game. Though not particularly endurant, he makes up for it by being put in his place and playing his game. He is also lucky enough to have a slightly better chemistry with his squadmates than other players, no matter the enviroment.

RM:Chimo Quaranta(Age 26)(AC Serone)
Description: Chimo Quaranta is the definition of speed and intelligence, a mirror of Santini, yet probably slightly more intelligent with the ball on his feet and instead of being a faithful crosser, he prefers to keep the ball low while crossing on occassion, with high levels of success.

RM:Simon Oliveira(Age 24)(AC CuttiImage)
Description: Simon Oliveira is very much a nuisance to play against, a swift dribbler, excellent passer with a high chance of raining long-distance attempts at a goal or assist, the Osci side's prospect has potential only few players could ever have. Lots of rumors see him returning to the Campionato for a chance at glory, however he is also keen on the improvement of his -formerly- native Oscioru.

LM:Lucien Cavallo(Age 27)(AC Pomena)
Description: AC Pomena's midfield maestro, Cavallo is a flexible midfielder, often times switching sides in the midfield in an attempt to find the perfect position to orchistrate an organised attack, with some surprise elements and it works a lot of the time. While not directly scoring or assisting much, his input is of utmost importance as he starts a number of frontline offensives which lead to goals.

LM:Carla Acquati(Age 23)(AC CuttiImage)
Description: Carla Acquati is an expert at making the long game. She is speedy, yet she also has the stamina of a marathon sprinter, players going up against her have been reported to fall on the ground. She was pivotal in AC Cutti's double.

LF:Edu Coste(Age 24)(AC Pomena)
Description: Coste has a specific dribble that is predictable, yet impossible to stop no matter what you do. What he will do is go to the far left corner, cut in to the open space, use his speed to dribble through the defenders and score a magnificent goal with his incredible finishing ability.

LF:Ganymede Garcia(Age 24)(MipojoseonImage)
Description: Garcia is a big game player right off the bat, he will score that one random header or tap-in when you least expect it, however he is a clinical finisher regardless. With traits like that, he is perhaps the team's only remaining poacher up front, despite his winger status.

RF:Patxi Etxeberria(Age 33)(AC Pomena)
Description: Etxerberria has decided to give some playing time to the younger generationby stepping down and becoming a substitution, so that there is more fluidity up front. That should not fool you however as he is still a dangerous player to play against and his numbers in the Campionato as well as international club competitions show for it.

RF:Gilberto Soares(Age 25)(U.S Scudelli)
Description: Though normally a deadly striker, Gilberto Soares possesses explosive speed which allows him to be dangerous out of dead air, which is a very critical trait for a winger and a player who could just not be left out of the team. He also possess cat-like leaps that allow him to jump high in the air, giving him an advantadge in headers.

CF:Giordano Limene(Age 28)(Garden CityImage)
Description: Limene is on fire, an unstoppable attacking machine that keeps on scoring and scoring with every given opportunity. Despite a long waiting time for his engines to start, when they do start, they do not stop no matter how many walls will be put on that defensive line. An innate ability for curved shots, it is very hard for any goalkeeper to stand a chance against him. He has been unstoppable in the Flavovespian league, bringing terror to the sides he has played against.

CF:Benedikto Urruchi(Age 25)(Gehrenna FCImage)
Description: If not for the generational talent of Campana, he would be the main striker for the team for years to come, he will be his scariest competition however. He is a clinical finisher, able to use both feet with high efficacy and is also incredibly fast. There is no way to stop him other than to foul him endlessly. He is also a penalty and free kick specialist, with a high conversion rate for both.

Assistant Coach:Calixto Conti
Assistant Coach:Sebastian Galletti
Team Doctor:Carlo Micheli

Roster comments: The team is proving itself to be a scary side offensively, with an incredible depth that can cover any holes up front. After a long Cup of Harmony campaign, the team managed to finish in 3rd place. Several necessary rotations while maintaining the same core starting lineup was effective on Madeiros' part. For the most part, la squadra were mentally more sound than they normally would have been. Most players happen to be on-form currently and are excited to be playing in yet another Independents Cup to showcase why they are one of the most dangerous sides of not just the Independents, but the whole world as we speak.

Il Nuovo Stadio Olimpico della Pomena, Pomena(Capacity: 137,000)
Image

The team will be returning to its initial home, the stadio Olimpico in Pomena, a state of the art and gargantuan stadium, it hosts the games of AC Pomena in the league as well as the Copa di Juvencus final. It has all sorts of amenities in and out of it from shops, to vendors, lounges as well as everything else one can put on their mind.

The stadium of the capital has a different vibe from the previous Vinceti Catedral, all this colorful vibrance suddenly turns into an intimidating atmosphere which accurately represents the deep history of the nation. The chants feel a lot like a call to arms, ready to strengthen the Juven players while drums rhythmically beat through the entirety of the game. If a goal is scored, the loudest screams are to be heard throught the entire city, every celebration starting from this place is an emotional, triumphant celebration, echoing through the nation. After hosting the 3rd place playoff of the Independent Associations Cup 16, it is a safe stadium to visit and the people in it will try to carry on the legacy.

Located on the legendary Taranta Quartier of Pomena, it is in a central position not too far away from the city center and it is easily accessible by any means necessary, such as by train(being near the Taranta, Antelope and Vittoria stations), by bus, or by car.

Stadium Bid

French name: Stade national de la montagne de l'ours
English name: Bear Mountain National Stadium
Capacity: 11,569
Location: Port Saint-Jean, Île de Richelieu

Image

The Stade national de la montagne de l'ours has been build specifically for international matches. Île de Richelieu's population is 928, so, with a capacity of 11,569, a little more than 10,000 foreign football fans can attend the game!

The stadium has 3 stands. East Side stand, West Side stand and North Endline Stand. There is a small VIP stand on the south endline and the pressbox is located on the south endline as well. The stadium has lights on the four corners so evening games can be played. The stadium doesn't have a video board, nor a scoreboard.

Île de Richelieu (formerly known as Jan Mayen Island) was discovered by Dutch explorers early in the 17th century and served as a whaling base until it was abandonned. France claimed the island in the 19th century and renamed it Île de Richelieu (Richelieu Island) but the island's jurisdiction was finally given to Norway. The French speaking majority, led by the clergy, declared the independence of Île de Richelieu in 1948.

Île de Richelieu's population is 928. The largest city and capital city is Port Saint-Jean and more than the half of the island's population lives in the city (534). The city have a few upscale restaurants along with fast food restaurants and some local pubs. Beer is largely consumed on the island and Richelois likes to get around at the local pub after work.

The island only have one hotel and it may cause a problem if 10,000 football fans are coming. The only hotel on the island is a 124 room SpringHill Suites by Marriott located in the old part of Port Saint-Jean and the hotel will be reserved for the two visiting teams who will have 62 rooms each at their disposal. The island also has a dozen of guesthouses that ranges from 1 to 8 rooms each. Football fans will have to bring their tents and sleeping bags and camp on the outskirts of the town!

île de Richelieu has a hyperoceanic polar climate with a Köppen classification of ET (polar with tundra), sometimes reckoned as EM (maritime polar). Seasonal temperature variations are extremely small considering the latitude of the island, with ranges from around 6 °C (43 °F) in July/August to −4 °C (25 °F) in February/March. The highest recoreded temperature in the summer was 18.1 °C (64.6 °F) in june and the lowest recorded temperature was -28.4 °C (-19.1 °F) in february. Being located inside the arctic circle, île de Richelieu experiences sun light almost all day long in the summer and darkness almost all day long in the winter.

Postby Trolleborg » Tue Dec 13, 2022 3:06 pm

Greetings, compatriots!
It’s TTV from the country with the romantic name “Quintessence of Dust”. Our country is connected with her by the bonds of good acquaintance, let’s to say so, even if it has not developed to the stage of friendship. Few years ago, together with QoD, we applied for the hosting of IAC, and we already savored how great it would be and how everyone would remember this tournament, but then the football circles opted for the rather exotic Poafmersia bid, and with such a score that there was nothing to contest, the desire of society was obvious. Since then, our paths have diverged, and, alas, we was not deemed fit for anything to help QoD in the preparation of this tournament, but maybe because we were not accepted into the company, the application succeeded at all, and we are still glad, as we always glad when something good happens to good people, that this country has achieved its goal ...

... But it was impossible to sit and listen to the news broadcast anymore, because work is needed to be done. Moving away from the screen, the director of the December 1 stadium hurried down, muttering under his breath, “but, in truth, it’s not the end yet, maybe we’ll still fit for something!”.

Everyone who needed to be here was already on the spot: in the southern courtyard of a huge stadium that towered like a mountain on three sides.
Image

- No surprises from transport department? – asked the director rather for the sake of formality.
- None. All four metro lines and all surface transport routes will operate without interruption. AI Keith system has just put in a additional battery block and is ready to go into high mode as soon as it receives a signal.

The director nodded:
- So, now the locker rooms. Before leaving, the national leader suggested thinking about a total re-equipment of the locker rooms. Six years have passed since the last renovation. All of you have been intensively studying foreign stadiums with all their innovations. And I would like to ask your opinion: is there anything we should add to this?
The whole group was stuck to the opinion that no, that was not needed.
- But still, let's take a look around with the owner's eye again, suddenly we notice something.
Image

Nothing, however, was found, and the whole group then headed from the courtyard not to the field, but outside the stadium, to go the same way as the fans get to the games - that is, on foot along giant stairs stretching to the top of the stadium bowl from all sides. The national leader once joked that running non-stop over such a ladder should be equal to an entry-level sport event, such as swimming through the capital's bay or the famous Cross of the Seas. But usually no one was running, the stairs were made with the expectation that spectators going to sports competitions would climb slowly and calmly, admiring the opening panoramas and the statues placed on each of three tiers.

- Shouldn't we still add elevators? - the director asked.
- In my opinion, if the application is accepted, then we need to add two, the total will be five, we will borrow needed equipment from the transport workers from the construction, I asked already and have a nod – the chief engineer answered.

From the height of a huge bowl, created from the soil by army of thousands of volunteers in memory of the great day of December 1, which rising far above the tallest trees of the park which stretching from the stadium almost to the city center, there was a stunning view of the bay and the city.
- Will we leave the question of food as it is?
- As I believe, - the person responsible for servicing the fans took the word for himself. - We need to put an additional vending machine upstairs, and, if possible, take into account the needs of fans from those countries whose teams will play here. Well, if they do, of course.
- I agree. What else you have to say?
- I have already resolved this issue with catering establishments. They only need accurate information, and they will give you sausages in dough or sorrel soup, even ... sunbeams with a golden dust garnish
- And what about VIP guests?
- If you please, let’s try for yourself - answered the responsible. - Nothing fundamentally new, but I believe that if there is one of the guests at the level of heads of state, we will prepare what the protocol service will offer
Image

And the commission moved here and there, essentially checking itself, although everyone knew that everything had been done as best as possible, along a winding path: left to the parking lot and right to the helipad, up and down the stands, and on the field, because there was need to sample of soil and grass, climate creator was tested and make a good work to make usual +18 at the stadium bowl. Everyone test new stands, which add another almost 20000 seats to the already existing 80000. And everything looked fine. But after all, an international tournament, how can you allow at least even a slightest blot! And, finally, at the end of the road, already on the field itself, where every Trolleborg athlete dreams of visiting, where so much sweat, tears of joy and grief have been shed, the place of the finals of all the most prestigious sports tournaments in the country, the director asked:
- Let’s turn on the hologram, with the lighting!
The engineer snapped his fingers - he still loves pictorial gestures - and the stadium seemed to come to life.
[imh]https://i.imgur.com/ZiD353g.jpg[/img]

“Everyone had checked,” thought group, and it was like if sounded as if out loud. And the director once again, using the capabilities of Keith system, looked at everything from the air.
Image

“Yes, I think we are ready” – he thought. “Perhaps. But will we be of any use to anyone?"

Nation: Montaña Verde
Trigram: MVE
Adjective/demonym: Verdean
Team nickname: Condors

Coach: Édgar Arboleda (57)
Assistant coach: Image Iahan Alphand (59)

More poor performances at the World Cup and IAC cost fan favourite Tito Godínez his place, but long memories of Édgar Arboleda taking an unheralded Junior Condors team to the Di Bradini Cup semifinals have led to FMVdF organizing a swift replacement. Édgar Arboleda is no tactical genius, but he has a good rapport with his players and, as befits a former youth team coach, a solid grasp of the fundamentales. Iahan Alphand of Secuaz de la Muerte [Oberour Ar Moro], whose 10 years of management experience have seen him go from the highs of taking Hibernus to the A-Division championship in his very first season, to most recently being fired from B-Division Naucratis, remains in role as assistant manager.

Squad: This is a 26-player squad. It can generally be assumed the players numbered 1 – 11 will start, and 12 – 26 be matchday squad reserves; but there will be a certain amount of rotation. So long as you’re sensible and unless I’ve RPed otherwise, you can RP my team lineup with some variation.
 • Men and women play together in Montaña Verde. To avoid pronoun confusion, female players are marked in pink. If you prefer all-male teams for realism’s sake, you may choose an all-male lineup and ignore my female players.
 • The league is fairly new as a result of restructuring following independence, but many of the clubs date back decades and have entrenched traditions and rivalries.
 • Fútbol is a tremendously popular sport in the country, rivalling Catholicism for the national religion, but limited overseas exposure means the standard is not especially high.
 • Speaking of not being especially high, Montaña Verde is one of the shortest [human] populations in the world. While there are one or two tall players, in general men and women are very short.
 • Players are not egregiously dirty in terms of violence or deliberate fouling, but enjoy a good tactical dive now and then.
 • The bolded name or “nickname” should be used when referring to players and staff.
 • All players are domestic unless otherwise stated. While I normally conduct transfers through the Transfer Window, if you wish to sign one of my players they are usually available, especially if it links to an RP arc. Send a TG/DM to ask.

Goalkeepers:

1. Rudolf Lazzaro “Dolfo” Mojica Parra (28) – Image Gunzlach – 3rd captain
12. Moises Luque (23) – Deportivo Zaracas
23. Benito Venegas “Ingeniero” (22) – Santa Margarita Riopel

As tall goalkeepers are few and far between in Montaña Verde the lanky Dolfo’s ascent has been rapid, but sloppy errors have seen him lose his place at times. He is forging an outstanding domestic career in Græntfjall and largely regained the #1 jersey. Moises is of more typical height and thus considered short by international standards, but is a fairly talented footballer with the ball at his feet. Ingeniero is another fairly short keeper but a resourceful shot-stopper.

Right backs:

2. Roberto Dylan Leoz Muñoz (26) – Image Fliserboding
14. Oscar Taciano Oquendo Alcalá (29) – Universidad de Montaña Verde

Castiglione, who has a party girl reputation off the field, fell out of favor under Andino Águila, and though Godínez was more tolerant, Édgar Arboleda has decided to move on, to promising young prospect Roberto Dylan, who was one of the standout performers on the Di Bradini Cup bronze medallists from 5 years ago. Roberto Dylan is a pacy wingback with an excellent long throw and a by-line in wistful, if frog-voiced, folk songs. Alcalá can cover either flank as a capable defender but doesn’t have the pace or creative skills of those ahead of him on the depth chart.

Left backs:

6. Justin Pedroza Sierra (33) – Image Lotus Park
16. Juan Diego Lucián Juderías (28) – Olimpia La Limana

Justin is one of the best players in the team. His strong left foot has him at left back, but he’s capable of playing anywhere on the field. A skilful dribbler with all the playground tricks, and standing quite a bit taller than his teammates, he seems to tower over everyone except Osito. What tends to let him down is his attitude. He gets into arguments with the opposition, his teammates, the referees, the fans. He’s the living embodiment of “If you get into an argument with someone, they’re an asshole; if you get into arguments with everyone, you’re the asshole”. He’s battled injury worries over the last couple of tournaments, but has enjoyed a solid career in Brenecia. Juderías is much more of an orthodox left-back, a good defensive prospect with a great work-rate but lacking any of Justin’s pace or flair; he’s moved to Olimpia La Limana as he seeks to revive his ailing domestic career.

Center backs:

3. Arquímedes Hernández Velásquez (31) – Image Kyethas Rivermen FC - Vice-captain
4. Armando “Mandito” Curbelo Rodríguez (26) – América de Santa Margarita de Yacuija
13. Alfredo Tafalla (30) – Acharaque
20. Sebastián Gayoso Cambeiro (25) – Calequén
26. Valentín “Tíntín” del Pozo (23) – Image FK Shkosan

In terms of footballing ability, the central defender corps is fairly strong relative to the rest of the team, but the main problem is physical: none of them are especially tall. Arquímedes has good distribution skills and can bring the ball out well, while Mandito, who replaces veteran Jairo, is a very physical defender with a smart head on his shoulders. If both of them are stacked end on end they’re almost as tall as one average international center forward. Tafalla is a short, stocky, busy engine. Cambeiro might be the best footballer of the lot but is somehow even shorter than all of them. Tíntín is a more typically aggressive bruiser, and quiffs his hair up with gel, but is too short to worry about messing it up with ever reaching a header.

Holding midfielders:

5. Marcos “Coco” Fernán (26) – Image Kingsbury United
8. Naomí Schutzán (23) – Image Adab United
15. Cristobal Elizondo “Cristo” Díaz (29) – Image Ezriquay United FC
25. Abigaíl “Abi” Bustamante Adame (26) – Image Sherwood Forest Ladies FC

With Ana-Ximena’s retirement, Coco, star of the DBC bronze medal team, inherits the famous ‘5’ shirt once worn by former coach Enriqueta herself. Schutzán is a fabulous long deep-lying playmaker with wonderful vision and passing ability. Cristo Díaz is a hard working presser who’ll run himself box-to-box offloading short passes and putting in the physical touch needed. Abi is a more traditional defensive midfielder, tough-tackling and very fit, less skilled at distribution.

Covarrubias will replace Schutzán when the team plays an all-male lineup.

Attacking midfielders:

10. Thomás “Primitivo” Ceballos Cantú (29) – Image Tihon – Captain
11. Aramis Navarro Najera (26) – Image CSKA Quebec
17. Absalom Covarrubias (22) – Universidad de Montaña Verde
19. Emma Narváez (32) – Francisco Teixidó
21. Tatiano Zayas Díaz (26) – Image Clayton City SC
24. Valery Nazaret “Valentinha” Garrido García (30) – Image Northandryun Rovers

Aramis will tend to drift into a central role, distributing and bringing the ball forward to open up rapid attacks, and is capable of playing a physical role. Completing the attacking midfied three is Primitivo, but there’s nothing “primitive” about the play of the midfield general, who has fared better in the Red League than Kristjana did, despite the move to Tihon from Urrheddiao marking a major downgrade in terms of coolness of team name. Bigger than most of his teammates, his strong physicality can be deceptive as he has a silky touch off both feet. And watch out for his wicked curling strikes if there’s a free-kick in the vicinity of goal. Valentinha is a complex wannabe intellectual off the field, but a creative attacking midfielder at her best. Emma has great speed but can be a bit sloppy with her passing. Covarrubias is another wide player with speed and energy, if not always direction on his crosses, while Tatiano is an excellent playmaker who lacks a really good finishing touch.

Forwards:

7. Teodosio “Osito” Orellana Cerda (28) – Image St Warren City FC
9. Clementino Ezequiel “Tino” Velásquez Casares (26) – Image Straton FC
18. Inhué Fernandino Indiano (29) – Sporting Mabar
22. Semarias “Monaguillo” Veliz (24) – Olimpia La Limana

Osito is a huge target man and the team’s most famous player. It’s still not entirely clear he’s not two regular sized Verdeans wearing a trenchcoat. He’s mainly a goal-scorer, not all that good at assisting and rarely tracking back, but an obvious target for crosses and through balls. Indiano is a small, scrappy fighter. Tino is a more complete forward than either but is primarily a goal-scorer without much interest in assisting others, and is still seen as a bit young and selfish.
