If you had to take your best friend in the squad to one place in Saint Eleanor... where would you take them?

The manager and assistant manager were not surveyed, for obvious reasons. Although they both said they'd take each other to Donald Lucas' office to talk business.

John Bailey (on Liam West): The National Park. It's a great place once you work out what it isn't for. I'd recommend it to anyone - including Liam. He has more than enough patience for it.

Cathy Winchester (on David Newcastle): There are plenty of houses for sale in Central, which is a great excuse to promote my family company - if not an exposition of the fact that most central government employees are either with the Army or on local deployment with education or health. David's just gotten married and he's presumably on a good-enough salary to afford a new house; he probably deserves a move on up and out! I can help him, of course; I'll happily help anyone else, too, although I might have to refer you to dad since I'm still a full-time player.

Exandra Davies (on Steve Pilchard): The Premium Coffee outlet in Parkside district. It's a short walk away from everything else - it being Parkside - and Dekky's father somehow still works there, too. You get to bump into a few players, there, too. Players in other countries may flock to designer outlets; we flock to the $2.40 cappucinos. Which were a nice, round two bucks when I started. Spleeeendid.

Sam Newbridge (on Liam West): Anyone who knows Liam will - with all likelihood - know he's a Carpentersville man through and through. It's not that far from the Grand Beach, being two stops down on the Red Line and whatnot, but... he just likes talking about the shop. I have been there before and it has about as much history as you think something that didn't even get hit by the war would have, which is more than you think. Logic works in a fucking stupid way sometimes, but natural beauty, beautiful women, good entertainment places, best urban design in the entire city - what isn't to love?

Liam West: I don't have one best friend, at least not in the world of football - it would be silly of me to tie my colours to another mast. And I couldn't possibly just recommend one place to go - I've been around enough of the city to know it is absolutely oozing with absolutely lovely stuff. The countryside has some nice things, too, but obviously the big city's the big draw and whatnot. Obviously, nothing beats the Nat Lib. When the men in blue and black go into town, give the colonisers grumpy frowns, we'll love them in the good times, love them in the bad times, because they're Indy, they're the club for me!

Bridget Coombe: I like everyone, too. Parkside is a beautiful little place - ignore the people who like moaning about "gentrification," which apparently hasn't streched anywhere else - and of all the gems people have unearthed, re-earthed, tried to eviscerate and heroically rebuilt over the years, I'd have to put forward the admittedly pompously-named National Trade Supplies Centre. It isn't the epicentre of the building and construction industry unless the only thing you know about Saint Eleanor is the expanded roster with all the detail Jamie Rodgers has put into it, but - like a few other buildings in the nation - it is an imposing, detached, neoclassical building a short walk away from the high street which was originally used as an Army Command Centre until those structures were phased out in April 1980 when General Snell walked back his plan to de-facto abolish districts. And now they're using it to sell cans of paint and electric drills!

David Newcastle (on Steve Pilchard): Assumptions are my number eight enemy. I'd rather talk to him than pull a surprise out of the bag he may not like. Autism and shit, you know.

Sylvia Hollenberg (on Bridget Coombe): The Eleanorian Cathedral - on the northern outskirts of Whitehammer, of all places. The thing was built in 1944, when the population was six times smaller than it is today and northern Whitehammer was about 400 yards away - so it's small, it's intimate, but it somehow manages to organise two Masses a day. And the general architecture is some of the best in the entire country; both sides thought better than to try and destroy it. All of those things probably appeal to Bridget!

Dekamela weMexala (on Adam Denby): Lavenderdale motorway services, Junctions 6 of the M10 and 1 of the M2, would be the obvious choice. It isn't very conveniently placed by motorway standards - it was 1976, we were distracted and thought we could get away with building something that had "access to all routes." It is, however, the first stop for anyone trying to go from the west to the countryside - or anywhere beyond the expanded bubble, now I'm thinking of it. Everything is a bit more expensive but a great deal worth it and it has one of the country's very few Premium Coffee machines; in the city, you're no more than a mile away from one. Sanitised and confusing but fun sounds like his niche.

Steve Pilchard (on John Bailey): Yes, I still like him! Central's high street, like most of the ones surrounding it, is quite an experience; there are a few shops there, but there was so much wide open space left by the town planners that the supermarkets look as suburban as you'd expect. As a result, you get a lot of nice, lovely independent places that everyone likes which sell all sorts of things. Neither of us are that materialistic, but... conviviality in the largest sea of boredom in the entire country? They certainly seem to cope with it.

Jessica Martin (on Bridget Coombe): Do I have to pick one person - out of all the lovely people, and a few of the wankers, who I've crossed paths with over the years? It's a hard call, even if you're just selecting from the current bunch, but Bridget is almost a natural-born leader, a brilliant person to talk to - and be around - and I'd put her forward if I had to. Where I'd take her is a different matter entirely, this being the same dilemma in a different form, but the Zoological Gardens - finally connected to the rest of the country by Metro - would be a good shout. There's every animal you could possibly dream of seeing there other than the Banijan dinosaurs; I'd have to ask Katie to lobby her local member of the Lukiiko for a vote like they did with Cardenao. Is Bridget an animal person? She will be if she spends enough time here. She'd refuse to pick a favourite, though.

Tim Brandon (on Sam Newbridge): Sam wouldn't go anywhere other than the training ground if he had to. I mean, I wouldn't, either, but that's for another day. He still feels like he needs to work on everything.

Georgia Wood: I don't play favourites. My local outlet of the Torch burger restaurant is inordinately beautiful, with that said. It is located in the oldest building in Brightway, but only because the District Council got so large they had to move out. No, I don't mean the one on Dignity Cross - and can you believe there wasn't a Dignity Cross until 1970? Lovely paintings, too; the north has always been affluent and it's never paid too much mind to the trade unions, but you'd believe otherwise if you had a look at the old FSEU banners on the walls.

Hugh Roanoke (on Jessica Martin): The University's admissions department. Seriously, what was she thinking when she decided getting a PhD wasn't a good use of her time?

Lydia Nicholls (on Exandra Davies): Surprised? Many of my connections have been based on mutual interests, or just the fact we play in central midfield - which accounts for almost everyone, when I think about it a bit more. The interest I share with Exandra is, very broadly speaking, rock music: I'm more into heavy metal, she's more into the punky stuff, but we can agree on everything between those inclusive and a little bit beyond those edges. There's a well-known festival along these lines called Elsfest, held on the banks of the river Els - a couple of miles away from Elsmouth, something like fifty miles from Broadlands - every year while the Q-League and Saint Eleanor League conveniently had their breaks. We went there this year and I wouldn't hesitate to take her there again given the chance.

Esther Launceston (on Bridget Coombe): Jameson Street in Deepchester has more fashion outlets per square inch than anywhere else in the country. The fact it's the site of a clash of cultures unlike anywhere other than the northern Orange Line with all of the Rulandese folk over there probably says something about the culture. I'll get her as much as she can pack in her suitcase before it has to be shipped back to Kelssek as cargo, so long as she likes it - or, in her kind-of-words, looks like a middle-class mum of two when she wears it. So much that she'll probably end up only have to do two loads of washing a year. That's the last thing a single woman like her wants to spend money on.

Adam Denby (on John Bailey): We've been to the Liberators' Park a million times before, by which I mean four or five. It is mostly perfectly normal: it has children and families and those big, unwieldy, foreign-import barbecues that nobody else has used anywhere else for fifteen years. And benches. That's about 40% of it. The remaining 60% - and I am going off my personal experiences of the surface area, which isn't how maths really works - is hallowed grounds. There are the names, and often the graves, of those who fell in the War of Independence; there are statues of men, named and unnamed. And the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the true mark of any nation worth its salt. We were shit at record-keeping. The shrine to Army soldiers killed on independence duty is in Richardgate, sorry.

Aaron Francis (on Melcheta Pazorzal): Would I take him anywhere? I'm not sure; my free time is, literally, infinitely more booze-drenched than his is. I'd just give him free reign for an afternoon and find out what happens. If I didn't trust him, I would never be saying that.

Harriet Williams (on Jessica Martin): The Marketplace. I'm aware there's Marketplace district, but that has actual things in it. What it's named after is so big that a couple of the exits on the ring road are dedicated to private car parks where people can pay, go shopping, pay some more for that privilege, and wrap up their business. It's one of the things you have to do before you die, provided you live here - and you're supporting the "small businesses" the government talks so much about at regular eleven-week intervals.

Naresmet taFrexala (on Exandra Davies): I'd like to go to the pub with her. She'd probably like to go to the pub with me. But the NLF Clubs, I can reassure you, are the same everywhere. Everryyyywhere. There are a few privately-owned places but, from what I remember, the Grand Eagle in Bramblewood is good; it's one of the few redeeming features about the place, a "relic" of the mid-eighties, but the prices are good, the selection is absolutely brilliant, and the crowd's a bit dodgy but won't hurt you if you aren't really pissed. When she retires, Exandra is either going to be a pub landlord, an oil tanker driver or a member of the Olympic board. Yes, she's a bit random.

Christina Fulton (on Hugh Roanoke): This is a tentative call, to say the least; extracting words out of Hugh can be a challenge, especially if he doesn't need to blurt them out, but it's worthwhile when he does. We are similarly techy-minded, however, and both of us have a great deal of veneration for the institutions - which, in hindsight, leaves maybe the Museum of Technology in North Seville open as a perfect destination. He's not the biggest fan of perfect, but I have one shot and it's what I've got.

Rick Goldsmith (on Dekamela weMexala): A few teammates had their inklings, but I think I've finally made my match! Affinity. Affinity - do you know what affinity means, mate? Big word, that. Absolutely massive. We agree on 80% of everything, which is a lot. If anything, advanced gun safety training would do her a world of good: 80% of everyone, that number again, has done the basics and that's great if we're invaded but we need a more powerful force. The Army's only 80% of that. Biggest gun range in the country? You guessed it, Broadlands. That's where she's going if I have my say.

Arielle Richardson (on Bridget Coombe and Naresmet taFrexala): It's actually quite close between those two! I don't think either of them would mind if I dragged them to one of the fast food places... any of them, anywhere in the country. It'll be a fabulous opportunity to have a chat about the kinds of philosophical thing I can actually understand for so many hours I have to tell the staff we aren't loitering; I'd go back to the Uni if I wanted a chat about philosophy I couldn't grasp. Or one I'd give up on after a few minutes!

Corporal Denise Livingston (on Esther Launceston): Alas, no more Lance-Corporal Eldridge; Esther was a distant second on my list of "best national team friends," although those days are over and we are much closer than before. I think she'd appreciate a nice, long tour around the University's Museum; both of us left school at eighteen, but both of us have a grasp of good culture - although hers is much firmer than mine - and she likes beautiful things much more than I do. She'd be the only thing standing between me and the whole escapade dulling my senses! I don't know if she's ever visited, but I was there a couple of years ago and I rather enjoyed the displays on the first few years of independence and the short-lived Eleanorian Baseball Championship. Yes, I got bored ten minutes in.

Natalie Monaco (on "the Unicorn gang"): I've remained close with the Golden Unicorn contingent in the national team for longer than I can remember, partially because it's been so constant - although I'm surprised the manager thinls we're good enough to stick together. We do go to a lot of obviously social venues, but just taking them to one of those again would be a bit of a waste. If I put it to a vote... we'd probably run the books on the Dignity Cross shopping centre and round up with a tribute to KA Pazorzal's. Safe, neutral-ish, everyone really likes it. And then we'd probably vote again about ten more times!

Melcheta Pazorzal (on Georgia Wood): The furniture warehouse in Blackwood. Seriously. I was at her house a few months ago and she literally had to store a couple of her books on her bedstand permanently because her bookshelves didn't have enough room. Imagine how bad it's going to get when she has kids and has to get them books, too. She will have kids.
****** The Grand Republic of Saint Eleanor - area 2,863mi2, population 489,816, 1.6 cups of coffee/Eleanorian/day - it's 2000 (OOC: obvious Tinhampton puppet)
BoF76 quarterfinalists --- WC91 participants

Why? George Mitcham, General then and now, cofounded the National Liberation Front in 1971 to demand a free Saint Eleanor. He got his wish in '75 after a 15-month war: becoming President, appointing notable NLF friends and some charity's executive director as VPs and calling them legislators. He has retained power through oil money; zero income tax; free healthcare, schooling, public transport - and markets; tolerating dissent on apolitical matters; allowing private gun ownership (with plenty of training) to protect against future invasions; high-quality PR; and football.

Sport Funding Faces Fire
The federal government has come under fire from critics for how it has spent funds. The complains stem from as grassroots sport funding program concludes it's seventh month of activity.

The Office Of The Second Deputy for Sport announced an outreach program for the smaller sports of Zeta Reka and Hügeltaldom. The program, known as New Growth program looks to provide financial aid to clubs, academies and the governing associations of different sports. The side also looks to temporally match some media rights funds to make broadcasting new sports less risky. The impetus for the program came after the financing issues that damaged the ZRH Basketball system. “Our largest indoor sport is in crisis,” project coordinator Gerald Havertz told RekanSport last year, “We’ve got to look at what is happening to sports in our country, from top to bottom too.”

The Basketball organizer’s failure to muster up money for IBC participation has lead to the side announcing a major restructuring, and looking for a bailout. Basketball’s Rekan authorities may still receive assistance, but the funds are limited by a program known as Project 100. Project 100 was created by the Maurer administration some twenty years ago to prepare for ZRH’s centennial. The funds accrued for this program are injected into infrastructural, educational, environmental, and cultural affairs. Under the limitations of this multi million Deni (ᴅ) project the government will aim to provide millions in discretionary funds to sports outside of the two main outdoor sports, those being Kožalopta and Association Football.

Project 100 has according to critics being politicized have risen since the beginning of the current government four years ago. The current parliamentary government, also called the Improvement Coalition, has been accused of using Project 100 to promote jingoistic viewpoints. One critic of the government has taken the the, to task publicly and accused the government of foul play.

“Advocacy for smaller sports in the country was a welcome change.” Miloš Toskić, Assembly Member (Socialist People's), wrote on social media. “It was a welcome change from a majoritarian and anti minority stance in the Sport and Culture Ministry.” The social media post came with a follow up. “Many of these sports are not the government’s taste however, and we’ve seen in this and other programs just how money is doled.” The Aleiusia Star contacted the office of Assemblyman Toskić for extra information. Staff members for Toskić provided the Star with the contact info of sports organization Porto Nowi Neighborhoods.

Porto Nowi Neighborhoods won the year’s Cricket Championship with a 10-2 record and some lop sided matches. For winning the event the side received Federal Deo from the outreach program. The total of deni sent to the cricket club was ᴅ45k. Correspondence with the Aleiusia Cricket Club saw the side claim payment of ᴅ75k. Aleiusia Cricket Club were twice champions before, but no prize money for preexisting has been disclosed by anyone in the government. Toskić has multiple theories for the financial discrepancies in Cricket. “The Neighbors, an immigrant focused side, received less money than the more nativist side.”

Could nativism be the cause? A spokesperson for the government at large noted the diversity of many smaller sports. Cricket, Fustal, Baskeball, and Baseball each received over ᴅ3.85m total from the government. “We’ve been happy with the support Fustal has seen” Porto Nowi Athletik Futsal director Niko Tomić told the Star. “We would be disgusted to find out we received more money due to a greater presence of Rekan players.” PNA collected some ᴅ65k from winning the ZRH Fustal League plus feds given to promote player training.

According to sport watchdog Association For Fair Rekan Sports, or AF3S, other factors may be at play. AF3S wrote to The Star and stated “Each team in the cricket league is disproportionately represented by minorities.” AF3S also in their words, “Believe an ethnic component to the discretionary funding exists.” According to AF3S however “More motives are guiding the government.” The watchdog notes money had mostly flowed into the major cities first, with limited support for folk games in the countryside. According to AF3S, “Porto Nowi and Aleiusia based organizations received a majority of disclosed funds. We find funds also gravitate to those with connections to the government.”

In one example, bowling’s Aleiusia based organizer ZRH National Bowling received ᴅ350k from the government. ZRH National Bowling’s president is former two term Assembly Member Stanimir Jowotić. The leading dart body in Zeta Reka, the Competitive Dart Federation of Zeta Reka & Hügelaldom, is located in the Ogroven city of Matov-Uri a sum of ᴅ50k.

When contacted by the Aleiusia Star The Second Deputy for Sport’s office declined to comment. However in fields such as road repair and storm cleanup there have been noticed and reported discrepancies in the last few years. In addition one liaison of the government to private business was fired eight months ago for funneling ᴅ6.45m into the coffers of business interests in Capital Cove who were connected to the spouse of former Education Deputy Mihaela Djurowić. All of our expeditions have not yielded any information on our fellow sailors. The crew feared the worst that the storm could have sent them in another direction or worse sank the Bételgeuse. Repairs on our own ship are well underway with the maintenance crew putting the finishing touches on the masts. The rest of the work should be done in time for spring when the ice thaws and grants us access to the sea again. The port village has grown now with a dedicated mess hall and sleeping quarters. The chaplain wants to build a chapel but so far none of the sailors seem to really care.

What does seem to keep them entertained is a new activity of "Okee"[sic]. Two foreign sailors on the ship proposed the idea of playing a sport on the plentiful ice. The men used old metal scrap to fashion ice skates that they use to move around on the frozen water. When they are not falling, the goal of the game seems to be to keep possession of a disk with wooden sticks. Then a team must score by placing the disk between their opponents' posts. The competitiveness is quite fierce with multiple factions emerging. So far the Cannoneers have the upper hand on the Sailors and Hunters. The games don't seem to have many rules and fighting usually marks the end of a match. A group of onlookers wanted to buy into the game by placing money on teams but players dislike the practice as others are making money from their work. A proposed rule set has been gaining traction but has been met with harsh criticism from players who say the rule makers are just not tough enough to play.

Patriotlandia 2–1 Al-Tamazgha
Parc du Nord (23,992), Alexandrie, Province of Foubrac
As the two teams took to the field on a chilly Patriotlandian night, both sides were greeted with a light snow. Soon after kick-off, Tamazghan forward Diouri slipped on the lightly snow covered grass leading to the home fans singing out in unison.
"Ça lui prend des skis,
Ça lui prend des skis!
Nouria Diouri,
Ça lui prend des skis!"

The travelling fans from Al-Tamazgha answered with their own chants. The two sets of fans chanted back and forth most of the night spurring their team on. Though they would not always understand the replies, the home fans seemed to have developed a sort of rapport with their Tamazghan counterparts. The home fans would be the first to have something to cheer about as an Alexandre Desrives free kick curled over the wall and past Jules Ekoko to find the net. The Tamazghan defensive style of play easily thwarted most Patriotlandian offensive. The Mountain Lions would get an prime chance as Muaz Joumari found a clear lane to shoot but eagle eyed Paul Lataupe was in position to make the save. The start of the second half would see the Patriotlandians double their lead with Lucien Graham capitalizing off of a bad control from Arnaud Carcela. The goal seemed to awaken the Tamazghan fighting spirit as the team switched gears and pressed harder to cut passes and launch counter-attacks. Souleimane Soumare would send a cross into the box that was not properly cleared by the Patriotlandian defense. The ball fell at Shukriya Benzakour's feet and the midfielder sent a seeing eye ball that made it from the edge of the box, throught traffic and past Paul Lataupe to halve the lead. The final whistle, however, would cut the away fans' hope of a comeback short. Both teams exchanged pleasantries post match, but were left wondering if the next meeting would favour them.

Abanhfleft 1–1 Patriotlandia
The last time a Patriotlandian national travelled to Abanhfleft it was for hockey during the nation's first international competition. The team carried the momentum from their win in the previous match with some early pressure. Forcing the Fleftic players to make quick decisions. Backwards passing was eventually intercepted by David Rodin who played the ball through to Lucien Graham, but the Stade Conflans striker missed over the bar. Paul Lataupe would be tested soon after. Mustafa Bensoussan headed a ball towards goal but was redirected wide by the keeper's fingertips. After half time, both teams seemed more precise in possession. At the 66th minute, Carlos Lado would find an loose ball in the box. His shot deflected off of Jannie Bromont before finding the back of the net. As Fleftic pressure mounted, Patriotlandia's style shifted to counter attacking, where a long ball found Bertrand Langlais who beat the keeper who was running out to challenge him. With the game tied, Abanhfleft pushed to find a game winner, but a strong tackle from William Ranger denied a sure chance for substitute striker Bradley Aquino.

Roundup: Sonnelian Rivals Derail Lozhoan Qualification Campaign

Sponsored by Jack Daniel

Even Pazron Droozle's sublime performance last night couldn't save the Pelicans from the might of Drawkland's Elite Eleven, to whom they fell to a 3-2 defeat courtesy of Roger Apollo's hattrick. The defeat has slightly disrupted the Lozhoans' surprise campaign for World Cup Qualification, with the team now a whole 3 points from a playoff spot, a gap which will only grow wider.

The Pelicans' five-game unbeaten streak came to an abrupt end at the last international break courtesy of Drawkland's Revoda Sea neighbours Juvencus. The Cup of Harmony semifinalists were certainly no pushover, but good form in addition to the home advantage and the return of Mattiaz Crickport from suspension made it very likely that the Pelicans would deliver a shock result. But alas, the only shock of that day was how Gli attaccanti didn't put more past us that evening.

The first half of the match against Juvencus featured uncharacteristically poor perfomances from both sides. Midfielders Marc Benson and Henry Blyth constantly gave into Juven pressure and lost possession, which led to a few dangerous attacks but were thankfully miles away from troubling Bonzo De Jong. After the half time break though, the Juven became much more focused whilst the Lozhoans regressed. Giordano Limene ran rings around Romulus and Zoufal Cerezaki and eventually knocked the ball into the back of the net in the 50th and 67th minutes, in a fantastic performance which may have saved his coach Dudu Madeiros' job. Skipper Carlo Callejon completed the rout by heading in Limene's corner kick in the 79th minute.

Despite being up against a very strong and experienced team, the Lozhoan's poor performance in all areas of the pitch was quite concerning, especially ahead of a trip to former World Cup hosts and Esportivan neighbours Ethane. Even though the Pelicans thrashed the team 3-0 in the Esportivan Derby Series and their opponents were in poor form, a loss of confidence due to the Juvencus game could had cost them 3 very crucial points. In the end, all of those concerns vanished in the very 1st minute, when Fatrouza Smith's outstanding solo goal opened the scoring. Despite their cautious tactics, the Pelicans absolutely dominated their opponents and silenced all the doubters that came out of the woodwork. Shinji Nakajima's overhead kick and Mattiaz Crickport's header ensured that the Lozhoans bounced back from the 3-0 defeat by winning a game by the same margin.

During the next break, the Lozhoans secured another must-win at the Protchen Terminal when they won 1-0 against Saterun. Paxton Obamovich continued his goalscoring form as he blasted a powerful shot into the bottom right corner in the third minute, after which virtually nothing happened in the entire match with both teams playing defensively. Then, the big match against Drawkland arrived. Drawkian skipper Roger Apollo opened the scoring in the 9th minute with a volley from outside the penalty box. The Pelicans tightened up after that but were still under heavy fire from the Drawkians, for whom a win would take them up to 1st in the Qualification group. Pazron Droozle eventually broke through in the 42nd minute and equalised with a sublime solo goal after droozling past 3 defenders. He doubled his tally just two minutes later when he chipped the ball over Septimus Xander to make it 2-1 to the Pelicans at half-time.

Sadly, it was inevitable that the shaky Lozhoan defence would crumble under the might of the Drawkians in the second half. The Sonnelian opponents began a full assault on goal, with balls being constantly hoofed up into the Drawkian forwards in search of an equaliser. It didn't take long for the Lozhoan collapse to occur, as a misplaced lofted pass from Henry Blyth ended up in Mike Rodney's feet, who squared it over to who knocked it right out of Bonzo De Jong's reach. Apollo saved the day not long after when he completed his hattrick in the 64th minute with a stunning free-kick, courtesy of a clumsy challenge from Romulus. Droozle created a few good chances and De Jong did well to deny any further goal attempts afterwards, but it was to no avail as the Lozhoans ended the match with a defeat.

With a tie against World Cup semifinalists Nyowani Kitara looming, many a Lozhoan fantasy of qualifying for the World Cup has been shattered with these defeats even with two good victories sandwiched inbetween them. This has fueled some anti-Sonnelian sentiment within the fans, with LFA Presidency candidate Zaphod Ziccoli basing his platform on crushing the arrogant 'Drawkians, Juvencians and Barackians' that stifle Lozhoan football. Stay tuned for more updates.

Jungle Rebels defeat Delte but held in the Île

Lunar Park, Seraai, Vilita :: Major National Team matchups at Lunar Park always include - weather permitting, a rocket launch of some kind from the nearby Vilitan Space Launch facility. Matchday 9 of World Cup 93 Qualifying would be a little different, however, as the big event wasn't the small celebratory sounding rockets that were scheduled to go off and the end of the match if the Vilitan National Team should win, but the high altitude weather balloons that were lifting off from a nearby hill just before kickoff. Keen observers noted that these weren't just any Weather Balloons that were being sent up by the Observatory Astronomics Team (OAT) but these high altitude weather balloons seems to be equipped with unique weapons that could only be described as "Useful for balloon to balloon combat".

While Vilitan Space representatives had no official comment on the weather balloons "Additional capabilities, one engineer who spoke on the condition of inebriation during the Vilita v. Delte matchup discussed how a rise in rogue high altitude balloons meant that any Balloon being launched even with a truly sceintific purpose must be retrofitted with some sort of defensive protection from whatever might be contained on other existing weather balloons. The intent would not be to use any such weaponry in an offensive manner unless provoked or othewise required to do so in accordance with ther duties.

In the background, a game was going on and the Vilitan National Team got a goal in the 58th minute from Testiculos nominee Sami Samii'i. The Valanora based midfielder came on as a sub for Trezisi Rokopolis at half time. When the final whistle blew it was a solid game for Endur Rotropii and the Vilitan National Team as well as for goalkeeper Zelkki Milake Jr. Born in Seraai, Milake had trained both as an astronaut and as a footsport player as a youngster and has temporarily put their Astronaut dreams on hold in order to continue pursuing their position as #1 Goalkeeper in the nation. Milake Jr. would pick up the shutout as the Jungle Rebels would hold on for a 1-0 victory and three points in the Groupp table

Stade national de la montagne de l'ours, Port Saint-Jean, Île de Richelieu :: After the important victory over Delte at Lunar Park, the Vilitan National Team packed up and headed to the Île de Richelieu to face off against the 217th ranked Cardinals at a venue that may have been more welcoming to Bears Armed having been called the Bear Mountain Stadium. Though it was a quaint venue with just over 11,000 in attendance, it certainly was not very welcoming to Endur Rotropii and the Vilita Jungle Rebels. Bitter cold temperatures made the Rebels play a stiff game with every errant touch slightly more painful than the last. Just 17 minutes into the game it was the home side who had gotten on the board first. After Marc-Antoine Desgroselliers dispossessed Hothat Iciiplak the Cardinals play-maker found Valkyrie Dahlen who side-footed the ball past Zelkki Milake Jr. giving Île de Richelieu a 1-0 lead. After having recently lost on the road to Hopal, Rotropii's Rebels were staring at yet another defeat to a highly underdogged side.

Rotropii would make two change at half time in an event to adjust the pace of the game and find a way back - in addition to simply trying to keep his active players warm on the pitch. Sami Samii'i and Letirpsi Vulitn entered the game at the half in place of chilled Vilitan stars Limu Katarakhna and Treasvo Tlikara. As the second half continued on, the Vilitans would make additional changes. Kunala Jyvaiij came on just after the hour mark then another pair of substitutions came in the 73rd minute when attackers Diamoa Waviino and Tukaara Milanzi were introduced. It looked as if the Jungle Rebels chance had gone and they were looking at a second defeat of the campaign until a fortunate break in stoppage time saw the Cardinals Rasmus Hammer raise their arm in the penalty box and deflect a crossing attempt from Sami Samii'i. Hammer was sent off for the infringement and Jakku'u Naboyavi - the Vilitan player closest to the cross when the foul was committed, stepped up to convert the penalty with the final kick of the game, saving a point for the Jungle Rebels.

While the Vilitan National Team only narrowly avoided defeat in the Ile de Richelieu, they missed out on an opportunity to move atop the Group 11 table after the bottom seeded surprise leaders Pratapgadh suffered just their second defeat of the campaign - this one against a Brenecia side that very much needed the victory after an agonizingly difficult start to the Qualifiers. It would mean that the Jungle Rebels were now just one point behind their Unranked Qualification rivals heading into the Matchday 11 clash between the two sides in Vilita. As Pratapgadh are the lowest ranked team in Group 11, the match between the two teams was assigned to one of the smallest available National Team sanctioned venues in the Tropics, the 19,000 capacity Riailia Cliff Stadium on Turoki Island. With demand for the tickets having skyrocketed, the club will be bringing in 8000 temporary seats and admitting an extra 3000 fans for standing room only participation in the game. The population of the Village is expected to double for the Top of the Table Clash.

Ueboa Comes out of Shadows, Declaring interest in Pasarga Coaching Job ::

A Member of the Vilitan National Team's World Cup 77 squad, Altimo Ueboa was a household name for those in and around the Vilitan Capital Region. Being a part of the team was the fabric of Ueboa's existence and despite not playing a role in the squad after World Cup 79, Ueboa did not officially retire from the National Team until after the Vilitan triumph in World Cup 81. Then they took a focus on developing players at their club side in Tivali City. There Ueboa would lead Tivali City to a Tropicorp Youth League Title before becoming assistant coach for the club team and helping lead Tivali City back to the Vilitan Stellar Division following a long absence. Now, Ueboa's name has come up with regards to internationstatal management. Whether the former Vilitan midfielder is truly being considered as a candidate for National Team management positions, or if it is just a bit of marketing in an attempt to secure a more lucrative contract at Tivali City, only time will tell. Currently it is known that the Pasarga National Team are seeking a new head coach which sees the former World Cup Champions placed 4th in Group 10.

Postby Guanacasteca » Sat Feb 18, 2023 10:20 pm

The República Guaancasteca was now in one of its darkest hours, as the military wasn’t giving up an inch by fighting the civils who didn’t wanted to be under their yoke, their encysted power for almost 200 years. A tradition for them, a pain for others, but there was a guaranteed thing for both sides, and that was that it won’t finish well for anybody, as many civilians and military officers can die in the process, until they negotiate terms to find peace or until one of them wins the civil war thorough force.

David Alpízar, leader of the rebels against the military, had gave the order to attack some of the outposts of the army across Northern Guanacasteca. Cities such as Diriamba were under a brutal siege from rebels, who tried to pincer military officers, but took some time until somebody decided that it was the best course of action to leave the place… For a moment. Juan García, one of the local leaders of Diriamba decided that it could be better for the movement to attack the military officers when they don’t expect, and in a way, they don’t think it could be possible from the rebels, the plan was to throw Molotov cocktails at the trucks and ammunition to start a fire, then shooting everybody who tried to escape.

It seemed that it could be a crazy plan, but the people there were agreeing to attack in said way, as it could send a big message to the leader of the army, not only for the level of hatred against the officers, but the capabilities the rebels would display in the attack, the coordination and also the magnitude of the attack. It has to be said that Diriamba has the third largest base across Guanacasteca, attacking them would send a big message indeed. To do that, people were preparing beer bottles, wipes and also newspapers to make fire with them, the concentration of alcohol of the beers would be enough to set a significant fire in the premises, so it was the best course of action to take against the military officers.

With the beer bottles ready, it was matter to wait until 1:00 a.m., a moment in the night that the officers would be asleep and without any chance of reaction to the attack, meanwhile, the people would leave and the city would look like if it was under normal conditions. As the officers went to sleep, people outside were monitoring closely if the guards weren’t awake, to see if it could be better to take them down first or plain ignore them and what they could do. As time moved, it was clear that the guards are important pieces of the equation, and they needed to take them down, hence the rebels called some sharpshooters in order to kill them first, which they did without activating any kind of alarm.

The time had come, it was 1:05 a.m., it was the time to start the operation. Bullets rubbed with gasoline were shot against trucks and ammo, then Molotov cocktails started to fly across the walls and skies of Diriamba; it all was set up in fire fast, there was no chance for anybody to scape from the hellish place. Some officers tried to force their way through windows, but were killed immediately by rebels, who didn’t allow anybody to scape. After two hours under siege, the flames were burning, but there wasn’t any trace of officers trying to escape from the fire… They all were dead, 880 officers under the direct supervision of David Arellano.

Arellano got the news, he was absolutely decimated and decided to do something that it was considered as unthinkable at the moment, to send a small telegram to some Rushmori governments out there in order to ask for help. “Dear leaders. We are the true government of Guanacasteca, we are the ones who want to provide stability and prosperity to the nation, but a group of rebels doesn’t want to allow us to govern as we are used to do for 200 years ago. Any kind of cooperation for us will be appreciated by the REAL Guanacastecan government.” The card was sent, without consultation, in what could be interpreted as an act of power from Arellano, even if that meant ignoring some other capable officers, making his will go like divine and unopposed.” It was clear that it was sheer desperation, there weren’t many chances anymore for them due to the onslaught from rebels against the Army… Not too many gaps open for him to do a counterattack and quickly regain power.

With 45,5% of the qualifying completed, let's take a look at how Mureșan-Antonescu is doing

Former national squad player,Johann C. Mureșan-Antonescu is the new manager of Natanians and Nosts; After Mutu's sure final game ahead Natanians and Nosts at the last CE,the Confederation wantes someone fresh but reliable to head the national team more permanently, compared to the one-competition contracts with some managers it had for these past few cycles. And then it was suggested that the man who was one of the responsible for Natanians and Nosts pre-WCQ/WCC/BoF/CoH days success, and someone who inspired a good chunk of the boys who now play at this nation, would be a good idea for a coach. The former footballer accepted the position with gratitude and happiness, but this was a completely new situation for him.
Starting with his squad list.He made some popular choices, calling the super veterans, and former NT-mates,Ret and Tralito,as well as calling Whitcliffe, notwithstanding the overall younger team. His two sons being on the list generated some controversy, specially Márius',who's taking part for the first time. The use of a 4-4-2 (4-2-2-2) sparkled debate, over the 4-3-3 that traditionally has been part of the team (although both 4-4-2 and 4-5-1 have been used by managers of the main squad).Ubuntu and García caused a sentiment of fear, for they are both centre-forwards used to two way different styles-of-play,and neither accostumated to their rôle under this formation of Mureșan-Antonescu.As a footnote, one could mention Natan Gabriel Ademélsson-Vit,who was born at the day Natanians and Nosts played tis first World Cup Qualifier match, but that's not really relevant to the football and the writing that is being done here.
Looking at his first matches on the Esportivan Derby Series, one could not be certain of the future overall, although, being an unbeaten manager against NAAZE is certainly a good thing. He becomes even more important by not having lost to either Mattijana or Filindostan, technically he could never since he never led the team against them, but it's still a nice thing to have against our rivals.
His actual results at the WCQ have proven to be:more of the same, this time with extra pain! The complete oscilation of the team's results and consitency have proven to be extremelly stochastic, even when the usual stochasticity is taken into account.Defeating Ceni after being thrashed by Yuezhou is normal, but losing to Stevencousin and only bring one-nil to Graentfiall is pure stochasticity. Then there was the defeat to Qasden,a great team to play against, and one we could have defeated (the only rival Mureșan-Antonescu has a losing record to,as a a manager).A suffered 1x0 over Kirungabi.Stochasticity comes back again with only two being given to Gyatso Kai,the result of Canadian Dominion's match, and that 6x3 against Adab.DISCLAIMER:Stochasticity is not pain,it just happened to be happening at the same time here.Repeating:stochasticity is not pain!
We all wait what is going to happen under this new leadership and if the team will go back to plaing the Cup of Harmony,or even qualifying for the World Cup.Will Ademélsson-Vit ever play, and if so,will he deut this WCQ?Was it a mistake to call Ionescu/Martinescu instead of Munteanu/Munteanu or Cramer/Kramer?Will Laço Tralto and Rato Ret keep playing at this high level for much time?Don't lose it on the next episode of Natanians and Nosts N,I mean, stay tuned to the news and do check our publication.

Next matchday Natanians and Nosts will receive Dod Rava at the Stadion Tyrannosaurus natanicus, and Yuezhou at the Stadion Nacional the following matchday.

BP closing ground on leaders as halfway point arrives
Scott McCrae
The Mail on Sunday Chief Soccer Writer

The Commonwealth National Team will be looking to stay on the course they've been heading since the defeat against Turori, which has seen them unbeaten in 5 straight, with only the 4-4 draw in Tikariot the only blemish.

The first of three consecutive home dates will provide an opportunity to further shrink the deficit to the Eels at the top of the table, where they lead the Snowy Owls by just a point following a loss by the islanders to Krytenia; the top two face off against one another as BP host Oscioru at Sportsmen's Park and then Atheara at the BBP National Stadium, with the matchday 13 visit of Strayan Rus to Ezriquay closing out the run.

Baker Park and Krytenia sit joint third on 22 points and depending on how results play out in this window, one of them could muscle their way past Tikariot into runner-up spot; at worst they will both still be within striking distance and angling for the third rung of the table for a chance at the playoffs.

The Bees have held their previous two opponents off the scoreboard, in addition to three other clean sheet victories through 10 matches as they seem to have rediscovered the consistency in defense that they showed in the middle of the Eagles Cup which they hope to continue against the visitors in this current doubleheader.
Oscioru come to the Commonwealth for the first time looking to get back to the form that saw them atop the table after the first pair of qualifiers, scoring 12 times against Strayan Rus and Inkwellistan, but it's gone pear shaped since then, as La nazionale have only scored 5 times while earning just 4 points over the last 8 fixtures.
Atheara ambushed BP on Opening Day 3-0, and like the Osci, would love to get to back to that production as they've managed to score just 8 times since Astena, although they have won 4 times despite their anemic output.

MD 11-12 Squad List

Callaway; Bruce, Onikambe, Bauer; Eichorn, Vuckovic (C), S. Logan, Altman; Price; Coleman, Mack

Dr. Heo and the Portal of Madness II: Map of the Problematique

PART 2.1 (33) - Daydreaming

NORTHERN NEW SQUORNSHELOUS
WORLD: Underground (지하)

Next thing Joon-Gweon found himself on the beach, listening to nothing but the silence that had surrounded him. Nobody else to disturb, but at the worst timing possible as well, Joon-Gweon thought again, as he kept his eyes closed and answered into the void.
It was apparent that he was alone, with nobody else watching. In a location both so isolated and desolated like the one he was there, this was probably a good sign, though the lack of somebody to ask or call for help certainly wasn't working in his favour either.

Eventually, after seven degrees of hesitation, he would eventually decide that he was still on this earth, his eyes closed by volition rather than by the weapons of death, and that he was ready to wake up again. Since he was lying on the back of cold, stone floors of a plain monastery, he was inside a building, though whether its conditions were homely or not was not up to him either.

Upon that moment, Joon-Gweon would also come to realise that he was wearing a white gown. They weren't the showergowns typically used for showers and saunas, but rather the funeral shroud using 삼베. This is odd, Joon-Gweon noticed, immediately figuring that something was odd with the shroud's fabric. We don't use white shroud here, from what I know. Those must be rare ones, or those not native to here, if anything. This odd choice in clothes had Joon-Gweon wonder where he stood and what awaited him.

So the next thing he did was to open his eyes. Right above he saw a sky full of stars, which shone brightly and like the diamonds in the sky. His surrounding was a roofless monastery building, a late-medieval structure whose roof was blown up a century ago and left there. With how empty and devoid of the furniture it held, with not even an icon in sight, it had given it the vision of the hollowness of the faiths long gone and past from the host land of this place.

Then he would turn around and get up, before quickly brushing his body. Unlike in past times after a fight or a literal battle he was not experiencing any kind of pain, though the dust of the ground and the cold feeling delivered by the floor were more than enough to deliver a minor sensation of own. He was still feeling his fingertips fine, though the energy he had inside his body, when he tried to warm the walls and the floor, weren't enough in this place to make a difference.

I'm at my peace here. Almost as if I'm somewhere between life and death, said he, as he took a couple of steps to walk around it. It was clear that he wasn't exactly on the reality that he had lived, though one where his soul was in full capacity of own. He did wonder if this is what's meant to be on the other side of the interdimensional portals, one that talks of its cracks, suggesting their eventual destruction, were being whispered about.

So if the world between us and I supposed, that of the Dead, and then of the Creator, is merged....

All is about to end.

His thoughts weren't going to last long enough, however, as a noise of somebody else on the room whispered to his ears - walking steps of somebody smaller who clearly was watching him the whole time. The steps were consistent, though not exactly well-aligned - Joon-Gweon would have guessed that the person walked in 팔자걸음 (An out-toed gait) - and the timely interval in which it would stop now and then left an uncomfortable feeling no different than all that he was exposed to over last three days.

Is this a setup specifically designed by The Creator? Which of the four Shingoryeoite worlds am I here - that of heaven (천상), current life (이승 - there is no exact, accurate term that would best describe Yiseung in English language -e.d.-), underground (지하) and underworld (저승)? And if so, why am I here? Joon-Gweon thought. Remembering that Hannah had briefly told him about the four Shingoryeoite spiritual world, he couldn't help but to wonder if this was what the life of tribulations stood for him, if he were to even survive the war. Both cursing and blessing in making..

'You aren't in Shin-goryeo, that's correct.'

Joon-Gweon stopped and turned around. The Creator was standing before him, confident with a perpetual smirk in his facial expression, wearing a dark gown. Unlike what others have told about him, however, he had a long row of beard that stretched all the way to his chest, and he carried an odd eye appearance with red on his left eye and green on his right.

'We don't have much time, dear Jang Joon-Gweon, the Genius of Taewha era, the first and last Quebecois cricketer to really surprise the world, the future chief instructor of the Tomcat Program,' he said, his gaze not being lost on Joon-Gweon. 'So let's not waste time and start walking.'

At that moment, Joon-Gweon followed as The Creator walked out of the monastery building, heading into the frozen, wintertime beach that faced both the East Sea (동해, also known as Grinsham Sea) and the Blood Sea (혈해) on this rare juncture of time and space. As they walked a stroke would be added to the surface, generating colours from that of pure black and white, before expanding into blue and grey, and eventually more would pop up in pastel, almost as if they were in middle of a landscape painting.

All the beauty in this place..and how it's created, at the very spot. Joon-Gweon thought, himself not being able to do much but to look into the creation process itself. This must be it's like to be on the minds of those like-minded, even if it's not exactly at home or anywhere near from it.

They would continue walking onto the beach for half an hour, with each step barely moving him any bit forward or backwards, before The Creator ordered him to halt. 'Where do you think you are right now, my dear child?' asked The Creator, looking back at a surprised Joon-Gweon.

'Myself?' answered Joon-Gweon. 'Certainly not Quebec and Shingoryeo, that's for sure. But it doesn't seem that odd or alien either, especially with how cold the water looks..and feels...I could almost smell the sea salt of my homeland and Perce too.'

'That is correct,' The Creator smiled, as he looked back at him. 'We are here, on a long-abandoned monastery in East Flania of northern Squornshelous. Just near Traal where Hannah Kim used to play, if you are much of a football fan.'

'Well, what Inteachan boy doesn't cheer for the Arsenal?' Joon-Gweon said.

'I don't know, you live in one of my favourite cities that I have created. Your Professor Heo, the old man with temper of your company, would know by now how much I love that place because of personal reasons. Do you think that Iarocav expects his subjects to dislike Sadeg City?'

'Sure, sir, but we are talking about something entirely different here.' Joon-Gweon answered, trying to turn around the topic to something more important. Questions he had simply mattered too much for him to know. 'But why are we here? What stage of the so-called Shingoryeoite spiritual world we live in? Am I supposed to know and try to access the other worlds? There's so much I want to know, but do not know if I could ask lest I be-'

'Stop there,' The Creator interrupted, stopping the conversation for five seconds before resuming. 'Okay. So you asked "why we are here and what stage of the spiritual world are we here". Is that correct?' he then continued speaking. 'Well we are on 지하 (underground), bordering the 이승 (living world) thanks to the Blood Sea and the East Sea all meeting here. For most of the year the water here remains frozen, which isn't always the case for northern new Squornshelous is (New Squornshelous is used by The Creator for the simplification purposes of calling SRS -e.d.-), and since the demons don't exactly like cold weather whenever they have to go to land, here's usually safe from the monsters and the demons that usually permeate here.'

Confidence and excitement were oozing out oft he Creator, almost as if he's ready to embrace the moment of conversation with his creation. 'But why are we here? Is there a specific reason why we, actually all of us at the Rink of Dreams, were separated? Are they also out there in the Blood Sea and the Salamantic Sea?'

'Also correct,' said The Creator. 'Since none of you had listened when I asked that only one of you reach the Rink of Dreams itself...the magic appears to have repelled all of you from it.' He then looked at Joon-Gweon. 'Now most of you are scattered, separate from one another, away from your home and a lot of you just outside of Shin-Goryeo. Two in Huayramarca, one in Ko-oren, one's stuck in Nykipiflugpuu...though I believe there's one person whose minds are scattered all over and can travel.'

'Is it Dr. Heo?' He stared at The Creator, whose smirk did not change.

'Who else would it be?' said The Creator. 'You do not know the entire story of that man, whose children have become all-timers in their sport and whose grandchildren will one day be linked to the Queen. If anything he already has the head start on the latter front, getting the comfortable position that myself, in this world, know is only existing in figments of my imagination.'

'But what about him that chains him to the world? Or rather, giving him the power of travelling?' Joon-Gweon asked, surprised that The Creator had even more attention inside his mind.

'Because you are only the youngest and latest pieces of my mind that I have baked out of, like a pottery into this world,' The Creator spoke calmly, almost as if he had prepared the question all this time. 'In the world I live in, let's say there are certain...self-designate figures some of us would give our responsibility towards, because they help this world, the one you guys are in, running on their own pulse. I'm sure that you have heard some of them before, though I was unable to secure copyright to mention specific names...'

Joon-Gweon stared at him. From the glance on the Creator it was apparent that he wasn't lying. 'So you broke a part of your mind and soul, to create...these creations? And specifically me?'

'Now, to what extent varies. Sir. Alex and Dr. Heo, for example, have a special place inside my heart because they are created from personal stories there, on the other side, that changed me for long. Those stories that I cannot tell, but ones that you will eventually understand as you grow older, fall in love, and eventually have children. But not all of those you have met do. And they should be glad because...the blessing can also be the curse.'

The Creator's eyes sudden changed from that of odd eyes to brown, the eye colour of his actual self. 'So you are telling me that it's a blessing not to be hurt by your own past, and that there lies..a bright future.'

'I cannot tell you much, but you have to think about your own happiness and what lies ahead, my young lad.' The Creator nodded, adding a slight smile. 'That's why I have asked for you and you only. So that you, and hopefully 'The Professor', will be able to fix the errors and be absolved of the chains that affect your own lives. There is so much ahead in this life and I cannot have you waste it over the past-life stamp of stigma.'

Joon-Gweon looked back at him, and so did The Creator. There was a moment of understanding that had flashed before them, as the waves started to crash against the pebbles. 'It is February here, only because I made it so. It is also February where I live, though the weather's simply too warm for my liking.' The Creator said.

'And you planned the moment, for me to meet Dr. Heo, and then Isabel and Hannah, and for the rest...of those fellow figments...to come together...all along,' Joon-Gweon said.

'Yes. Though I admit that it was a rather hurried failure, coming from me whose organisational skills aren't the finest. I am not, by no means, a theologian or a future-time writer or a superhero afficionado. Rather the opposite - I prefer romances and tragedies, and always think decades into your future. So by that I finished with a failing grade of 49%, no bell curve.'

'Okay, so you intended all of that. But if all of us are lost and out there again, then how can we piece together the world from falling?' Joon-Gweon questioned The Creator again. For all the insight and the excitement The Creator was bringing, he was feeling tired of all the discord-theque-esque threads of consciousness the older man was having by now.

'Oh, it's easy. Lot easier than you would think.' said The Creator. 'Let's think back to the map Isabel Jurado showed you and think about it again. From there you will have to further expand and eventually have to find one another to drive the spikes that would firmly establish your nation from falling apart. You won't exactly be able to move between the spaces, but you don't need to.'

'But I am here and I can't move back to 이승 either,' Joon-Gweon enquired again. 'And nobody could pick me up from it. I'm just a novice in all of this and there's no need to navigate my way out of it. How could this work?'

The Creator smiled back at him, his voice louder and firmer than before. 'Who else but Dr. Heo? His mind might be haunted and he may lack the innate abilities, at least on surface, but the Schottian Torch isn't there for nothing either.'

Chitundu Sindikubwabo on Life in Farfadillis: "Just Like Home"

MWANZIBASHI — Former Sport Kawakiyambu midfielder and namesake native Chitundu Sindikubwabo received the shock of his life when Tanazzan (FFD) football team L'Unione approached him with a juicy contract. The defensively-inclined player had had a rocky start to his national team campaign in the Copa Rushmori, and while he managed to rack up a couple assists and start a handful of counterattacks on the team's way to the Baptism of Fire title, the Kirungan's form had still not reached its peak. "I couldn't refuse the offer," he admitted. "I had never even traveled abroad before the Copa Rushmori — to go from my home in Kawakiyambu to suddenly moving halfway across the multiverse was not even a dream come true: I couldn't dream that far!"

Since his swap away from the Championnat mid-table outfit Sport Kawakiyambu, however, his performance has risen exponentially. Four goals in the past six games, including two against Gyatso-kai at home in Mwanzibashi, followed a marked improvement in his accuracy when going for defensive moves and lunges. "Of course I was worried I would miss home, my mother, my friends, my team; but to be honest the guys have been fantastic," he said. "I've been training hard, getting used to their style of play — I've started losing my fear of making a mistake, and I'm faster and more resistant now when I run — so overall it has been a good move from the football side." Sindikubwabo, who claims that documents with his name written on them always contain a different spelling, also assures that the Tanazzans have been "remarkably quick" to pick up on Kinyabirunga, a language spoken only in Kirungabi. "I don't know how they've done it," he says. "I don't even speak on the phone very often, and when I do, I try to keep it quiet and hide a little bit, but they speak just like my mother! It's uncanny and a little bit strange, but it makes Farfadillis feel a little bit more like home."

'More' like home, Sindikubwabo says, as the Atlantean Oceanian island has recently fallen into a brutal civil war. Claiming defensive action against foreign aggression, the Farve province of Farolera launched a full-scale invasion of neighboring Rülândéá which, citing a “high risk” of the development of a humanitarian crisis, have rendered the island a “code black” for all travel according to the Kirungan foreign ministry. Despite this, Sindikubwabo, himself a former refugee in the Gufungura-Nord refugee camp south of Kawakiyambu, feels that Farfadillis is a “paradise”.

“The country has its charm,” Sindikubwabo admits. “It might seem dire to people across the world right now, but I am having a good time with my teammates, and they don’t seem too concerned either. I live far from where the war is taking place, so we’re not in immediate danger. Plus, I lived in the Gufungura-Nord refugee camp until I was ten years old — I know what hardship is like, and here I have everything I need — and to top it off, the guys try to make it feel just like home.” He also assures that the country itself, linguistically, culturally, and geographically diverse as it is, is fascinating in its own right, as he tells in a brief travel account:

“When we travel across the country to play our matches, I like sitting at the back of the bus with my head against the window and just staring at the landscape. One time, late at night, I had fallen asleep to a strange, calming, low-frequency sound coming from outside, until I suddenly woke up: this huge, beautiful flash of orange light blew up in the distance, and it was so bright it was even warm — and nobody twitched at all! The nature in Farfadillis is so shocking and amazing, but my teammates must be so used to seeing such wonderful things every day that it’s mundane to them.”

Sporting an oozing red rash on the left side of his forehead in Kirungabi’s match against Canadian Dominion, Sindikubwabo finished the first half of Kirungabi’s inaugural World Cup Qualifiers with two assists in one of the team’s most commanding matches thus far. “I’ve learned a lot from the Farves,” he said, holding a gauze pad to his lesion in a post-match interview. “Cyril [Kamembe] has congratulated me on my improvement, too. It’s good that we have such a motivating coach behind us in the team, who can rally us up when we need a boost and who’s also not afraid to make changes when things go wrong.”

Kirungabi is slated to face off against Adab and Dod Rava in its next two Qualifiers matches, both held in Kirungabi at Imisozi and Abongereza, respectively. Coach Kamembe and Assistant Coach August Abihayimana, who had earlier expressed their concern about Kirungabi’s continued false-starts in their qualifying campaign, affirmed that the team is “as solid as ever”, as the Kirungan home crowds prepare to flock to the streets and the stadiums to receive the players with open arms, long winding banners, and cheerful victory chants — even despite the weather forecasts threatening heavy rain for the coming weeks.

BARACK OBAMA'S NEXT TOP MIDFIELDER

Our Fifth Episode!

Welcome to the FIFTH ever episode of Barack Obama's Next Top Midfielder! The talent show for these ten lucky people to display their talents in the middle of the park! We're approaching the middle of our finals, and we've already advanced two contestants to the final finals: Kemarbama Huth and Jacques Obamaheinz/Jake Obamaheimer. Our next person to possibly make the leap forward will be... Lester Obamaham!

Lester Obamaham is a well-known participant in the food competition circles. He currently holds the national records for most hot dogs consumed in 15 and 30 minutes, cheeseburgers consumed in 30 minutes, and mint chocolate chip Slurpees drunk in 6 minutes (world record holder). With Obamaham bulking very hard, he can absolutely dominate in midfield, with his strength and power allowing him to break up opposing attacks and launch counters. His stamina also ensures that he can last the whole 90 minutes without sweating a single drop, making him ideal for a box-to-box role.

Master of Ceremonies: Please welcome our fifth ever contestant, Lester Obamaham!

[audience applauds loudly]

Lester: Good day to all!

Sergei: Welcome Lester! What have you planned for us today that will convince us that you should be Barack Obama's Next Top Midfielder?

Lester: I will admit that I've not always been the most athletic or obvious choice for a midfielder. But I believe my unique experience and skills will make me the TOP one.

Zoey: Very interesting! What are you planning on doing?

Lester: Well, for the next 90 minutes, I will be running on this treadmill at a speed of 10km/h. Whilst eating this entire McDonalds Wedding Catering package.

Zoey: Wow! A mukbang! Let's do this!

Wolfgang: That's going to take some impressive stamina! Let's watch this!

[audience spends next one and a half hours in silence watching a guy eat food and run at the same time]

Lester: Mmm...

Sergei: Woah! That's the last fry! He's done it! He's done it!!!

Wolfgang: And with just five seconds left on the clock...

Lester: Woah...

Sergei: And done! Congratulations Lester! Why don't you come down and let us evaluate your performance.

[audience applauds loudly]

Lester: Oh... urm... okay...

Sergei: I've just got to say... wow. Okay, that was AMAZING. You know what? I don't care, I'm saying YES.

Zoey: Same here. YES from me!

Lester: I'm feeling very ill guys...

Chuck: Hold on just a second everyone. Let me present something to you all...

[audience groans and boos loudly as Chuck stands up and holds up a Happy Meal box]

Chuck: While all of you had your eyes peeled on that freak show, I had this food tested. It's not real McDonalds. It's specially made so that it can be ingested without someone feeling full. He's basically been drinking dangerous chemicals and water!

Lester: Please... I need a hospital

Chuck: And that treadmill isn't real. It's actually just a cleverly placed TV screen showing someone else's legs running, and-

Lester: DUDE, YOU GOT ME! NOW SHUT UP AND GET ME TO A DAMN HOSPITAL!!!

Chuck: Alright, alright. But I take it that this should be a no from all of us then yeah?

Sergei: Umm... let's cover that in the next episode... cut please.

Master of Ceremonies: Sincere apologies to all of our viewers. We are currently experiencing technical difficulties. Remember to check back next week for an update and for another EXCITING and ACTION-PACKED episode of Barack Obama's Next Top Midfielder! Stay tuned!
Sonnel is the place.

DOUBLE WHAMMY PUTS ROSE ON BRINK
Defeats at home and away ratchet up the pressure on the Euran manager

The Euran Football Association is rumoured to have given national team manager Sterling Rose a “powerful warning” as Eura’s World Cup 93 qualification campaign threatens to unravel.

Eura had flattered to deceive through much of the first half of qualifying, but got results, and seemed to be on the up when a disappointing draw at home to Jeruselem was followed by a vital 2-1 win over top seeds Kandorith in Bastion. Eura travelled to Osarius on a high, only to be pegged back by two early goals, only pulling back a goal through Alex Sharp on the stroke of half time. Defensive errors led to two more strikes that left Eura stuck with an embarrassing 4-2 deficit, with Sophie Singh having curled home from outside the box to get another back.

A late switch to three at the back, allowing substitute Rita Brookfield the opportunity to rifle home a third, proved to be too little, too late. A demoralised Eura headed home to play New Gelderland and were much improved at the back but toothless up front. Stewart Robson will surely now be dropped after another aimless performance, though in truth the strong midfield on the pitch were very poor and created few opportunities for the veteran striker. A Gelderlish goal early in the second half turned a frustrating point into a disastrous defeat, and to add insult to injury, wingback Ana Mason managed to get herself sent off for violent conduct.

There has been an understandable cacophony of criticism directed at the national team and (as ever) the EFA, but the vitriol of fans and pundits towards Rose has been unusually strong. Euran national team managers, especially those who are Euran themselves, have historically been given the benefit of the doubt for a long time. Rose’s predecessor Skorji Oslograd was no exception. The sacking of Lee Sharp after one failed qualifying campaign was momentous in how it broke from precedent, a decisive step taken in response to an epochal failure of Euran football.

Rose could suffer an even more ignominious end, and sooner than the end of Sharp’s unenviably short tenure. EFA sources suggest the national governing body for the sport have warned Rose in no uncertain terms that Eura must secure a playoff spot at minimum. Otherwise, his job will be forfeit – and they may act sooner if deemed necessary to salvage the campaign. After Eura’s two recent qualifying failures, the EFA are under huge pressure to avoid it happening again, interrupting Eura’s momentum as it tries to get back into the elite grouping of international football teams.

They know that the government are watching over their shoulder. An election isn’t all that far away and a recent poll suggested 71% of Eurans disapprove of the EFA – the Association will be determined not to give politicians any reason to take an obvious political win. To do that they will need Rose to deliver wins on the pitch. “He needs to get Sharp leading the line every game, play his best team rather than endlessly tinkering, and for goodness sake, always have a defensively minded midfielder in the starting eleven!” demanded ex-pro turned commentator John Leach. Many Eurans will agree with him.

Östlicher-Aufstieg
A town in eastern Austroslovakia, close to the Euran border

Stefan tried not to scream.
Tried. The final straw had been broken.
“YOU STUPID FUCKING IDIOT! MORON!”
Clara, his shocked housemate, tried to look at anything other than him. “Sorry. It was just a coffee mug.”
“Just a mug?! That was from my dead grandmother you turnip brained dolt! I’ve had it-”
“You’re overreacting!“
“-I’ve had it with you, I’ve had it with this fucking house, I’ve had it with the-GO THE FUCK AWAY!” He was about to say ‘milkman’, who Clara had taken a shine to, who was now stopping over for his ‘deliveries’ for rather too long. “Get out, go!” The milkman sheepishly obeyed and walked out of the front door as quickly as he had entered.

“Stefan” Clara started with her own rage beginning to surface, “you can’t treat him like that.”
“Oh yeah? I’ll treat him how I damn well please. I meant it when I said I have had it. You treat me like crap and walk all over me. You break my stuff with your carelessness. You bring over all sorts so I can never have any peace. But if I ever do something that grinds your gears, you chew me out! I might have been able to put up with that alone, but somehow, you’re just so…servile the rest of the time!”
“Oooook, there it is. This is about the protests, isn’t it?”
“Absolutely” he barked back as he went to grab his jacket, “it’s no wonder you support that pig Pult. You’re both insecure little autocrats who sponge off the rest of us.”

By the time Clara had picked up another one of Stefan’s mugs and lobbed it towards his head, he’d already made a beeline for the door. He wouldn’t spend another minute in this shithole. Their living arrangement had always been tense but recent events had upped the ante.
Clara was comfortable. She had a nice rental with low bills in a nice neighbourhood. She didn’t care particularly whether or not she had any say in how things worked, because all was well.
Stefan felt very differently. He had it good too for the most part, but he knew many others did not, and that the inability to influence the forces that governed his life was soul destroying.
So, he wanted to do something about it. Clara did not approve of his action. He did not approve of her inaction. And, so, they fractured.

Östlicher-Aufstieg was a small town nestled in a mountainous landscape that few would suspect of being a hotbed of dissent. Yet there were protests every day now in the town square, which Stefan spent much of his time participating in.
“Pult out! Pult out! Give us a vote, and vote Pult out!”
What was unusual about the marches in this place compared to Graz was the sheer mass of Eurans present. The country had always been home to many Eurans due to its proximity, but the flood of refugees had cemented a much larger Euran population, and especially so in places like this. The speaker was a Euran today, too.
“The Chancellor has been in office without an election for fifteen years. Is that because Austroslovakians don’t deserve an election? No – its because Pult got too greedy! He’s been lining his pockets! Today he’s Pult, tomorrow…tomorrow, he’ll be a Gartanzo!”

An infamous name. The crowd roared, outraged and exhilarated in equal measure. Stefan roared with them.
Then, a small silver canister flew across the crowd and went off with a “pop” before falling to the ground.
“GAS! Cover your faces!”
Tear gas crawled across the tarmac central square like a creeping mist. And where there was tear gas…
“Polizei! Citizens, disperse immediately!”
…there was police. Clad in dark colours and with masked faces, hiding behind shields and batons.
The crowd began to break up, starting to panic as they closed in.
Not Stefan. He’d had enough.
A riot officer looked up just in time from flattening some teenager, to see this angry middle-aged man. He thrust forward with his baton and withdrew his shield, only at the last moment noticing the-

‘-kitchen knife was found near the scene, having been used to stab the unnamed member of the security forces in the neck and chest fourteen times. Interior Minister Hans Lipka, who is ultimately responsible for Austroslovakia’s national Bundespolizei, told foreign reporters that the officer died on their way to hospital. A manhunt is underway for the perpetrator, but rights groups claim as many as three hundred residents of Östlicher-Aufstieg have been detained without trial. This new escalation will likely further stoke civil unrest that has set the country alight for weeks. A belligerent Chancellor Pult spoke to state media tonight in dark tones, claiming that “seditious forces” were seeking to “destroy our great country”. Reports suggest the country is on the verge of martial law, with thousands of reservists about to be called up to shut the borders.’
Many miles away from Austroslovakia, in the comfort of his Bastion residence, Harry Barnham turned the radio off. The Prime Minister tried to pretend he couldn’t see the spawn of Satan out of the corner of his eye.

“You know this is the perfect opportunity, don’t you?” the Ticker said, making himself impossible to ignore.
“Pfft” Barnham scoffed, “opportunity? I don’t think a country losing its marbles on our borders is much of an ‘opportunity’, but you do you.”
The geriatric advisor, ex-spook, convict and murderer approached Barnham’s desk. “Prime Minister, we must understand each other better. You’re a soft social democrat running a great power. You need bastards to do things for you, that you don’t want to do, to protect your cuddly image while keeping this country safe – and strong. I won’t pretend to care for democracy at home or abroad, but you have made liberal democratic evangelism a core tenet of Euran foreign policy. Normally you would never meddle in the Askoy Belt nations. These are not normal circumstances. People are dying and millions of Eurans live under what is becoming an autocracy. Are you going to be consistent and stick by your strategy – and your beliefs – and are you going to let me do what I do best to help you get there?”

The Prime Minister went silent for a very long time.
“I will consider it” he muttered. “Once I’ve made a phone call.” He turned away in his revolving chair, and pointed to the door. “Please send for the Foreign Secretary, and then kindly fuck off.”
The Ticker smiled. His words had achieved the desired effect. He slowly took to his feet, propped up by an expensive-looking walking stick, and shuffled to the door.
The Prime Minister picked up his phone and gave the operator instructions on who to call. He would then have to wait.
As he held, Barnham looked at a painting on the north wall of his office. A romantic portrayal of the Battle of Wake, a famous showdown between a younger Eura and another one of its neighbours to the west, Urszag-Csatoria, in the era of muskets and cannon, one of the greatest Euran victories. The two countries were much more peaceful bedfellows now. Barnham wanted to keep it that way with all of them, but in Austroslovakia's case, stability would need to be preserved with some strings attached.
The caller was connected.
“Hello. Chancellor Pult, I’ll cut straight to the chase. Its time for you to go.”

Chasing the Unknown
Thread C Part 3: When a team's childhood dreams is the basis for their success

"Congratulations to ACG for lifting the 2111 Sarim Major!"
"Congratulations to ACG for lifting the 2111 Mancodas Major!"
"Congratulations to ACG for lifting the 2111 Dalaris Major!"
"Congratulations to ACG for lifting the 2111 Holhot Major!"
"Congratulations to ACG for lifting the 2111 Fiskadaha Major!"

2111 was a very special year in the history of the Glory Professional League. Heading into the championship finale, it was the first time a team managed to do a clean sweep of all the major in an utterly dominant style. It broke numerous records in the league's then-11 year history, and sparked a whole new excitement in the Glory of Masters game franchise. What's more shocking would be ACG, more well-known by their full name All Champions' Gaming (since AGC refers to another well-known club, All Gamers Club), was merely founded in 2108, and their meteroic rise to the top would be well studied by every single professional, in the GPL or GPL(M), so much so that their decline would be as fast as their rise to the top.

The founder of the club was nicknamed Neptune, a former 5-time split winner with Mancodas Gaming and Chicken Dinner Gaming (CDG). In the transitioning period between the end of standard ban-pick and the start of full ban-pick, when many teams were struggling to figure out how to deal with the new format, it was Neptune who led CDG to win the 2106 Summer split and 2106 Fall split. When he was later sniped by Mancodas Gaming, he led Mancodas Gaming to achieve GPL's first grand slam - 2107 Spring, 2107 Summer, 2107 Fall, and then the 2107 Champions Cup. Neptune was known for his work in innovation for ban-picks. Known as the "Neptunite BP Style", it involved asking his players to practice a whole lot of non-tier 0/tier 1 heros in order to use them to defeat an opponent's tier 1 lineup. Under his leadership, Mancodas Gaming went from using a hero pool of 40-ish heros, to using a total of 90 heros in the 2107 Fall season. It brought lots of attention to a league which was struggling to lose part of its audience, especially those who tended to master a particular hero which is popular in ranked gameplay, but not exactly tier 1 in the eSports scene. Many head coaches called him "the Water God", after his namesake Neptune, as well as in tribute to how his teams was very flexible in their hero selection, just like the flexibility of Water. But after winning the Grand Slam, he announced his retirement from coaching. "My childhood dream," he told the press during his resignation press conference, "was to be a streamer and commentator. I believe that having achieved this feat (of a grand slam), I leave the league in a very good place, and that I can continue to motivate newer head coaches to break this record of mine, while I go back to do something that is more of my dream."

For spoilers, he only did that for a year.

In early 2109, Neptune announced on stream that he was forming a club, known as the All Champions Gaming. Together with best friend LMT (who had also left the coaching scene after an unpsirited performance with EGC in the GPLM), they announced plans to recruit budding new players to join the competitive scene, and aimed to get into the Glory Challengers League (GCL) in 2 years. "We believe," said LMT during the announcement, "that there are more players out there who are very well capable of achieving the levels that the current professional players can achieve." The rest, they say, was history. Under LMT as head-coach, and Neptune as founder and director of training, ACG won the biannual Glory National Competition on second try, and gained promotion into the GCL in the 2110 season. While they didn't make it to the promotion/relegation playoffs on first try, they squeezed in as runners-up in the 2110 Summer Minor, and smashed the opposition to qualify for the GPL. Their first appearance, in the Fiskadaha Major, was a disaster, ending 3rd in League C, but they didn't need to play the playoffs again.

The subsequent season was absolutely chaotic and unexplainable. While others played the GPL Championship Finale, ACG went ahead to buy players from the GCL and the GPLM scenes. Neptune became head coach, while LMT became director of training, and this turned on a light switch in the team. With the Neptunite BP Style Mk. II making an appearance in the battle field, Neptune led the team to sweep 5 majors, giving the team the honorable status ahead of the Championship Finale. It was nothing more than a fairytale ending for the team, when Neptune continued to be the only person to take a grand slam - this time round, it was his second grand slam as head coach of the club.

"Congratulations to ACG, winning 4-0 against Chirper Gaming to lift the 2111 GPL Championship Finale!"

Let's get this campaign back on track! Platons improve stormy start in trial stadium over Independent Athletes of Quebec

Geektopia and the R.K.C. went about doing something else consistently which was part of their M.O., and released to the public officially the swapping around of stadiums for WCQ93 home games; however, this executive decision wasn't enacted until the national team gained for themselves a bad position and had a real piece of sweat on their brow to address: just where Geektopia had wandered off to and how to fix this lallygagging. It was at that moment or thereafter that Schmedding and the committee granted the ownership group of O.K. Athletic Moscaritolo permission to discuss terms that when signed off on would effectively put a ground that's been inactive for most of it's time and when active hosted second-tier Geektopian football in a nominee list to succeed the current Place of Valence. The other stadia have been revealed for every other fixture after facing Quebec, but what's more important is that the R.K.C. simply tapped on the ownership group's shoulder, i.e., there was no lobbying needed to have been done and both parties were reassured with the move, much unlike what had been done as far as negotiations to include the former rugby field named Old Hawkeye Ground went - the owner, who is one Aimenan and single Wanell Atas, has lofty expectations on his shoulders that spell "R-E-P-U-R-P-O-S-E". Yes, this man and his construction team are expected — no, required — to repurpose the ground in which rugby had used to be played into one more accommodated to football - that means hiring more groundskeepers to smoothen the grass, and attracting sponsors so a certain incomparable billboard twang can be added, with the more lofty work of roofing and building walls done before these two tasks are carried out.

What's more relative and crazy than that though, is that Moscaritolo needed this transaction to happen given that they've been wanting some amount of attention since the start of 8200 so that they can raise funds to downsize the amount of seats that are already there for, what's more, a lack of employed persons working in the institution to regulate the stadium their ownership group has had nominated. It's a good action to take, considering the supplementary reason in a statement released by word of club chairman Pyaneauiszghsz Īszwyam that was, "Murosinoe has a pretty tepid footballing presence in the country, and I do know that regulars have been wanting this sort of thing to happen for some time, and it's not as if the Place of Valence will entirely go away, but I would say after so many cycles it'd be good to know that football in Geektopia isn't played on the street only in that very city where a stadium for where international friendlies and World Cup qualifiers are conducted is placed." It was utter mind-boggling trash to read, but let everyone who'd read that know the ownership group of O.K. Athletic Moscaritolo weren't going to go loose on the reel for lack of a better word.

The club that had recently won an Epic Eight competition had this to their name and the fact that there weren't any rivals that had gone professional yet in the city of Moscav but themselves. The architecture that surrounds The Mental Gymnasium is more impressive than for how many seats it can have attendants fill. See, the ownership group here have maximized profits five times on other projects to where they have had a considerable surplus each of those times, using that to buy three unfurnished forty-floor buildings sat neatly to the front, left, and right of the stadium, and the capacity of these buildings, fifty thousand feet squared, is roughly twenty two thousand, two hundred and twenty-two people. While the aforementioned Mental Gymnasium can only sit down forty thousand-ish attendants, the buildings that are owned in a direct vicinity account for about sixty six thousand more who may just be looking out of plate glass onto the touch, assuming Geektopia qualify for the World Cup 93 in a surprising way as they had three hundred years ago.

As for how many filled up on the day of, the Mental Gymnasium had hit well short of the sort of numbers that look decent and only nineteen thousand five hundred and twenty-seven souls came to attend, but more could be said about the blech-looking industrial buildings that stood everywhere but one direction - fifty two thousand and ninety-four were more attracted to having the structures feel in themselves a relative structural unease, and for this number there would be a daunting average of seventeen thousand folks for every building that had sat in chairs handed out at the entrance gates for twenty cryptos: this had been daunting in and of the fact that these attendance numbers were only two thousand less than what the stadium which was closest to the football had occupied if one spread and distributed the total amount across each of the three forty-story associated buildings.

Without this considered, the Platons gunned for possession from kick-off so they could exert their unconventional way of playing football to gain some sort of advantage, and this worked pretty well despite the boss Julio not being available on the premise of him attracting the tropical affliction of goitre that wasn't as scary now that it was revealed to have been non-deadly upon a further look being conducted by unpanicked medical minds. Instead, his assistant Sadıkmuş Bifrtazisashnar whose name no one has ever heard pronounced before did the boys some good and before you knew it Geektopia were knocking on the door by some margin more than those of the Grim Reapers. With the clock reading forty-one, a substitute by the mononym of Vert managed to take a deft pass from the halfway line and leave a midfielder and two defenders in Pierre-Karl Miller and Hannah Kim wanting more from their bodies than would be reasonable in his finish. After this, a feel-good goal which is much harder to describe than the aforementioned was scored on ninety minutes by Rinnert which utilized some slice-and-dice Attacking Pass Formation extravagances. Despite this, the Platons didn't go without their proverbial laces being tugged at and two singular highlights (there must have been much more than this) in the video which RKCteevee uploaded to the twii.tur database could just as well've tied the game two all. First, Pierre-Karl Cizeron had a tussle with Livengood after the latter intervened the former's trying to shoot from a snappy hand-off by defensive midfielder Joelinton Dyxkeson on fifty-eight minutes. A late goal would have likely frayed Platon nerves as much as that potential equalizer, so when a good spell of possession brought an attractive shooting chance to Quebec from an individual mess-up clearance by Lertora, who had been starting to drink less coffee before kick-offs, Jean-Christophe Babin would profit and be in the right place to head that ball being frayed into the air from space if but for Gulcan 'iirţasdaṟi hoofing the header out as it came to where he stood on the line of conception.

The next part on the series on television dives into the 10 regional networks that make up the Local And Live national TV station. As mentioned in the previous part of the series on Television, Local and Live is divided up into regional networks, now linked to the regions of Flavovespia. Some of these channels have been longer lasting than others, but all now come under the official Local and Live banner, and depending on where in Flavovespia a TV viewer is located, this’ll be their default Channel 4.

Image
Hadford Hill – Hadford Hill TV

This was formed in 22BU, originally independent of Local and Live, but later (somewhat reluctantly) coming under its banner in 4BU, with the reorganisation of TV broadcasting. Often abbreviated and known locally as HHTV, in the analogue days, HHTV signals could also be picked up in Marthorpe, and some of the areas outside of Hadford Hill. Now the primary reception area of this channel is only in Hadford Hill, but a small number of people in Marthorpe, as well as internal “expats” of Hadford Hill, tune in as all L’N’L channels are technically nationwide now.

Image
Centrelands – Centrelands Television Network

One of the newer channels, formed in 34AU to cover the new Centrelands region. Before the region came to be, a mishmash of L’N’L networks covered the area, such as Norsat, Lunselbury TV, and Middleshop Boradcasting. As such, CTN has never really taken off or had the long standing appeal of other regional L’N’L networks, not helped in part by the North/South split in the Centrelands and loss of the old channels.

Image
Waldster – Waldster Broadcasting Network

Older than Local and Live by a long way, formed in 52BU it was the first local TV channel. It also played a big part in getting Local and Live set up, along with the Astonian Broadcasting Corporation. Originally not just a channel for Waldster, but all of Outer Waldster, Henhaven Island, and parts of what are now the Centrelands and Torlands. As such, even viewers outside Waldster will regularly tune into it.

Image
Eastlands – Coastal Channel

Formed in 16BU, but originally only with a narrow reach, it slowly subsumed other networks along the East Coast, before in 34AU becoming the Eastlands network for L’N’L, to some criticism of the Eastlands municipalities that had a different local network. One or two of those still exist outside the L’N’L framework, on the latter channel numbers. Much like many companies in the Eastlands, the use of blue hues in the logo is clear.

Image
St Astons – Astonian Broadcasting Corporation

Formed in 47BU, it’s second only to WBN in terms of long standing local networks. ABC has often been seen as one of the top local networks in Flavovespia, and paired up with WBN to help Local and Live get setup. ABC was also the channel for what is now the Westlands and parts of Hampridge Westwood in the past, until Westlands TV formed. Nevertheless, there’s still considerable crossover and support between the 2.

Image
Westlands – Westlands TV

Originally known as ABC West in 14AU, when ABC created a specific channel for the West of Flavovespia, on its 10 year anniversary it became Westlands TV. There’s still a lot of programming and behind the scenes overlap and assistance between ABC and Westlands TV, but Westlands TV is beginning to carve out more of its own identity.

Image
Outer Waldster – Outer Waldster Broadcasting Network

Outer Waldster Broadcasting Network, or OWBN is an offshoot of WBN that broadcasts in the Outer Waldster region. It was only established in 34AU, following the Regional Parliament establishment. Behind the scenes, it’s largely supported by WBN, and still shares much of its broadcasting content with the aforementioned channel. One of the less popular regional networks, with WBN still watched by a fair number of residents of Outer Waldster

Image
Hampridge Westwood – HWTV

Established as well in 34AU, although some would say a direct successor to Hampridge TV formed in 4BU. Indeed, anywhere else in the region not tuned into Hampridge TV was covered by Westlands TV, so the name HWTV fits the channel well. Benefitting from Ellerstone’s media industry, it’s one of the local channels with a good quality of broadcasting, and of the newly established L’N’L networks, probably has the best reputation.

Image
Torlands – TVTor

Another of the 34AU L’N’L formation networks, TVTor tidied up what was quite an unusual and unintuitive set of local networks. From EagleTV in Narrock Wood, to the YBC (Yellowlands Broadcasting Corporation) in parts of the Torlands, to those areas receiving HHTV, WBN or MiddleshopTV. TVTor had something of a rocky start, trying to replace a multitude of channels for viewers, in a region with a limited identity anyway. Still, whilst viewership isn’t that high, it’s done okay with its resources.

Image
Henhaven Island – Henhaven Island Broadcasting Network

Established in 30AU as HIBN, when WBN took over the running of the previous Live on Henhaven Island channel, which had suffered financial difficulties and staff walkouts. HIBN shares a fair amount of content and staff with WBN, but is slightly more independently minded compared to OWBN. It does however suffer from a lack of an audience, given Henhaven Island is the smallest of the regions, and many residents still tune into WBN.
Formerly the Republic of Greater Waldster, internationally known as Greater Watford. IC It's a long story (OOC I didn't like using real place names)

THE NANGANG COURIER
WU ZHONGSHENG DEAD AT 76
Huang Xiewen, POLITICS

NANGANG -- Former President Wu Zhongsheng has died in his Nangang home, sources have told the Nangang Courier. The exact cause of death was unknown but believed to be related to one of the three strokes President Wu suffered in his old age. The first President of the United Republics of Yuezhou, who served for ten years before retiring due to illness at the start of his third term, was seventy-six at the time of his passing.

"Today, we mourn the death of the father of our nation," President Zhen Qiang said in a press release. "President Wu was a brilliant leader and statesman who served as a great mentor to me and as a hero to the millions who he delivered to freedom. We pray for his family in their time of need, and for the continuance of the great legacy that Wu Zhongsheng brought to these isles."

Born in humble circumstances to a schoolteacher and a homemaker in Huaiyang, a small village in the northwest of Nanhai province, Wu Zhongsheng went into civil service upon graduating from Nanhai Tongji University. While he was a brilliant administrator from a young age, he reportedly clashed with superiors in cases where the socialist mandates of the People's Federation clashed with what he believed were the best ways to govern. His lack of ideological purity limited his advancement in the central administration, ultimately leading to his being "banished" to the Nanhai Provincial Government. Still, his brilliance - as well as his fierce belief in Nanhai separatism, which earned him many secret admirers within the provincial government - led to his being promoted to Lieutenant Governor, behind Governor Zheng Zhoulun.

When Nanhai declared its independence from the People's Federation, Zheng and Wu vowed an end to Yue socialism and a "New Age of Freedom in Yuezhou". While Zheng Zhoulun led the war effort, Wu was tasked with revamping the post-socialism administration of Nanhai, which he performed ably. While Nanhai made significant territorial gains during Zheng's tenure as Governor, it was Wu who ultimately led the province to military victory after Zheng's assassination. After achieving military control over the entirety of Yuezhou, Wu was benevolent in victory, setting up a government of "United Republics" with strong provincial governments, and giving himself only the title of Acting President until free and fair elections could be held.

With Wu at the helm, his National Union party won three consecutive elections with him at their head, ensuring that Yuezhou's first steps as a democracy were strong and well-managed. His Presidency saw the recovery of the postwar Yue economy, the reintegration of Sangau into the United Republics, and the establishment of a more assertive Yue foreign policy within Rushmore. While his premature death has left his reconstruction work incomplete, eighty-six percent of Yueren said in a recent poll that their lives are better now than they were ten years ago, a testament to Wu's leadership ability.

Wu suffered from poor health in his later years, suffering a stroke near the end of his first term as President, and a second one on the day of his second re-election to President. He was still in recovery from the latter stroke at the time of his death, which led the Yue Assembly to name Zhen Qiang, serving as Acting President, as the second-ever President of the United Republics earlier this year.

Wu is survived by his widow, Yang Ping, as well as his younger sister, his two children, and his three grandchildren.

Annhover Naval Shipyard

It was currently morning dawn, at 0700 hours. Within the city of Annhover, something massive was currently in the works that would hopefully serve a great purpose. But it wasn't just something massive, it was something symbolic. One thing to know about Atheara is that the nation has always viewed itself as a proud naval power, coming from the history of their galactic rulers. The United Kingdom of Nordcalia-Gestova prouded itself as a sea faring and, soon on in their time, space faring country. And from that sight of proudness, Atheara treats itself in the same way. The Athearan Naval Corps (ANCO) has always viewed their general naval doctrine as, "Powerful ranged combat assisted with strong air support". And because of so, Atheara has had some of their best ships in naval service to be their aircraft carriers. Throughout Atheara's naval history while despite not ever in conflict with another sovereign entity, The Republic has had a total of 85 carriers total in service, with 6 CVs currently on available active duty. But that changes today.

The "thing" that was currently being worked on within the city of Annhover was being built and engineered within the Annhover Naval Shipyard. It was one out of five Athearan shipyards that had the authority to build ships for the Athearan navy. Three of the other shipyards were also building a new H Class Aircraft Carrier, but that wasn't what Annhover was engineering. They were creating a new class of aircraft carriers, one out of two for now. The newly declared Leviathan Class Aircraft Carriers were to consist of two ships. AINV Leviathan and AINV Hydra, with Leviathan currently in progress. To keep this project safe, Atheara's most treasured hero is overlooking the construction for this beast of the ship. The Vessel of Wind herself, Cecilia Scharlund was at the docks, looking at the ship. It was massive, just based on what she could see so far. It would become the largest class of aircraft carriers Atheara had ever engineered, and it would also be the largest ship Atheara ever put to seas. Though, to be fair, the ANCO has always had aircraft carriers as it's largest ships that ever sailed the water. Meaning that it wasn't much of a surprise.

Scharlund gave out a sigh, her only task was to watch over the progress of the construction for AINV Leviathan. Which, for her really isn't that much of a task. The only bother that she has with it is the fact that she was given the task out of the blue, which is why she was in rather casual clothes. But if anything were to happen, such as an attack, she could still fight. Although the war against ISLORA had ended, the AMC knows that there are still some guerilla units out there. They didn't want to take risks. Cecilia decides to take a seat on an empty crate nearby, as construction workers were constantly moving and doing their work. The Scharlund was now brooding, not caring too much about what was going on. While she was lost in thought, a blonde haired woman approached her. She was also in rather casual attire, with a sword surprisingly at the hilt of her belt. Hanna Ocherbeth didn't know why she was supposed to be with Cecilia for this, guarding the aircraft carrier. The former ISLORA Officer would rather sleep at home than be at Annhover. But to be fair, Cecilia did give the request to spare her from punishment... Ocherbeth might as well go along with it to not awake the hidden wrath of the AMC had the Vessel of Wind not personally make a request. Cecilia noticed Hanna's presence and opened her eyes.

"Hey Hanna."

"Hey... I actually want to ask. What is it with us having to be here again, Scharlund?"

"Well, our task is to just keep an eye on the construction of the carrier. The reason I brought you along was so that we could maybe... Hang out together after this is done. I mean, it's been so long since we had a relatively normal conversation outside of conflict and outside of you being at the hospital."

"Fair enough, it doesn't mean I have to be completely friendly with you."

Cecilia Scharlund gave out a sigh, again. Although she was on better terms with Ocherbeth now, it's still not a completely friendly relationship. It's as thin as ice if you could call it that. Actually, rather, it would be better if it's called as shallow as a small electric current. Considering Hanna is still the Vessel of Lightning, it would be better to call it that even if it didn't make any sense. In her heart, Cecilia just wants it to return to what their relationship was. Two girls, hanging out together for the sake of it. Their friendship was strong when they were young, so where did they go? Was this the effect of her not trying to figure out what happened to Hanna when she went missing? It's as if she didn't remember their past relationship. Though that's now far gone as Cecilia will never know the "ifs" that she could have done. Meanwhile for Hanna, in her heart there was always something tugging her whenever she was with Cecilia. While her mind doesn't remember much about it, her heart is always trying to pull her soul towards Cecilia. It was as if her sense of familiarity was muddled. Looking at the Scharlund, Ocherbeth just rolled her eyes without any thought. There was absolutely no way that these two had met in the past before, absolutely not. But then something happened.

A small ringtone was heard, and that sound was coming from Cecilia's pocket. Taking out whatever was inside her pocket, it turns out that it was Cecilia's phone. It was a call from... Someone, apparently so. Cecilia dropped down from the crate she was sitting on and opened the call to take it. Hanna couldn't really hear about the call, but she did hear mentions of reason for transformation, awakening, and possibilities. Ocherbeth, not caring too much about that excused herself to go somewhere else around the dock yard, which Scharlund hears and understands as she lets the Vessel of Lightning go. The call was surprisingly from the researcher that she once talked to in her enquiry about Elyzian Energy, Firette Gledswyn. Apparently the Athearan researcher wants to talk about something, in private. Which means that she would have to meet up with the researcher somewhere more private. Apparently, this is a meeting of the highest privacy, as if anyone else got word, the two of them could be possibly hunted down. Cecilia understood and ended the call, giving a safe location where the two could meet. Once the call was done, Scharlund looked at the ship and thought that Hanna can surely keep an eye on it while she was gone. And thus, the Vessel of Wind left the shipyard, wanting to know what was going on.

Still another draw and then a loss against Bears Armed

On matchday 11, Île de Richelieu travelled to Sajnur to play against the Sajnurans. Kjell Thorstad was in goal while Bjørnar Grendahl-Kalberg was resting and Jean-François St-Yves was in the starting XI to replace Rasmus Hammer who had a one game ban. The Cardinals attacked at the 2nd minute when Ragnhild Austad made a short pass to Rose-Émilie Bouthillette who kicks the ball into the net and it was 1-0 Île de Richelieu. Sajnur tied the game at the 32nd minute when Violet Valera made a cross to Indigo Taylor who heads the ball into the net.The game was tied at 1-1 and it was the score at halftime. Valkyrie Dahlen scored on a free kick at the 58th minute and Île de Richelieu was leading 2-1. Sajnur answered back with two goals, one at the 72nd and one at the 77th minute and took a 3-2 lead. At the 87th minute, Hugo Denommée takes a loose ball and passes it to Julie McMullen, who subbed in 15 minutes ago, and she kicks the ball and it's in. The game is tied at 3-3 and this is the final score. Nicolas Leboeuf-Hachey had a yellow card and will miss the game against Bears Armed for having a 5th yellow card in the tournament.

Île de Richelieu travelled to Bears Armed on matchday 12. Bjørnar Grendahl-Kalberg was back in goal, Rasmus Hammer was back in the starting XI but Jean-François St-Yves remained in the starting XI to replace Nicolas Leboeuf-Hachey. We lost 1-0 against Bears Armed but at least no one was injured.

On matchday 13, Île de Richelieu will recieve Pluvia and the Saxean Isles and Nicolas Leboeuf-Hachey will be back in the starting XI. However, Valkyrie Dahlen injured herself during the training and will miss the game. Alexandra McDuff-Reilly will replace her in the starting XI. Valkyrie Dahlen should be back in the starting XI for matchday 14 against Novaros.

Princess Mila naked at Dazza Dallas Stadium

Hello, this is Princess Mila for Naked News Jeruselem reporting on the World Cup 93 qualification campaign.
I was not here for last home game, that was my sister and baby. She's the pregnant one, not me.
Qualification round 12 completed today, and it's the start of the 2nd of qualification with end of first half last round.

Last round was rather uneventful, Osarius entertained the Princesses but still took home 3 points. New Gelderland ran into a brick wall called Kandorith losing 2-0 at home. Eura silenced the home team Bongo Johnson 5-1. Rouyoute couldn't win at home, losing to Gran Saguaro 1-0. The Cordian Isles gave Quakmybush their first win, Quakmybush beating the home team. Tjorl were overcome by visiting Sylestone 1-0.

Today was one of those games, the visiting team was Sylestone. Sylestone had conceded a total of 4 goals in 11 games which is better than New Gelderland, Jeruselem and Kandorith.
Jeruselem is one of higher scoring teams in Group 8, so this was a real of test how Sylestone handles Jeruselem for the 2nd time.
We did beat them 2-0 last time, so they learn anything?
Sylestone beat us at home 1-0, but it wasn't easy as they had to weather an assault on their goal after taking the lead.
Jeruselem did not want to give Sylestone three points and Sylestone had to work overtime keep out the Princesses including getting the benefit of some dubious offsides.
Sylestone upset Jeruselem with the only goal of the game.

Tjorl stumbled with 3-3 draw with Quakmybush who are doing better than in their first half, I fear it's too little too late for Quakmybush. For Tjorl, 2 lost points.
The Cordian Isles made Gran Saguaro slim hopes harder beating them 1-0.
Rouyoute got Rouyouted by Eura, the visitors winning 5-0.
Bongo Johnson hosted top seed Kandorith and Kandorith won 3-0
New Gelderland at home beat up the hapless Osarius 6-1.

Yes well, this round was not one we wanted to lose as our rivals easily won their games.
Tjorl stumbled while New Gelderland recovered from their recent loss.
So next up we go to New Gelderland for a game we cannot afford to lose and then host Quakmybush.
I guess we cannot complain about those games, as we avoid the other top 6.

So how are things looking?
We'll not discuss the prospects of the 2nd half of the table which sadly includes Gran Saguaro who is still 7th with 6-1-5 record on 19 points.
With Osarius and The Cordian Isles in 12, Bongo Johnson on 7 and Quakmybush and Rouyoute both trying to avoid being last on 5 points.
I can't see them getting out of the bottom 6.

Tjorl are 6th on 22 points with 7-1-4 record and well within striking distancr of the top 2. However the stumble today losing 2 points could be costly.
Eura seemed to have picked up some form with some impressive wins, but are still 5th with 7-2-3 record.
Top seed Kandorith picking up wins with 7-3-2 record but are only 4th with 24 points.
Jeruselem out of the top 2 again, in 3rd with a 8-2-2 record. Saying that, we're doing exactly as our rank indicates.
Sylestone took our top 2 spot and have an impressive 9-0-3 record. Did I mention they have conceded now, 4 goals in 12 games? Their downfall could be the low number of goals scored in comparison to others.
New Gelderland retake top spot, also 9-0-3 record. Scoring lots of goals, and conceding only 8.

Yes, the next game is against New Gelderland who beat us at home for our first loss. Our second loss was here today against Sylestone.
If we win, we should get back into the top 2.

You may see an ususual amount of security today.
Some troublemakers tried to start some cars on fire in the carpark for some reason.
To make things worse, they started shooting at the chasing guards. Fortunately, the guards are trained professionals and most of the offenders didn't get away. Most of them had trouble thinking after getting shot in the head at least once ....
So after that, we had full security all day.
We don't mess around here, proper semi-automatic weapons for our guards and not pistols.
They'll be a report on the incident later.
Oh that's also why there's someone following me around, because I am a rather obvious target.

That's it from me, I'm off to New Gelderland next.

The Katherine Davenport Report

This is Davenport's fourth cycle. Taking over for Juliasterinthen, who pursues a career as World Cup Committee president, his ex-assistant was the natural follow-up to such a remarkable coach. Davenport and Juliasterinthen once formed the heart of the Dragonflies' defence, then they formed the heart of the staff. Cooperation was never easier - that's what sharing about 20 years of a career will do. Katherine's first order of business was finding assistants with whom she enjoyed some rapport, running Exidio Varela out of the building and hiring Cath Schoppe, Phélie Poussin, and Epeloknu Dhinthulandhen instead. Cath had been part of the staff in the Juliasterinthen days, the other two were new to the job. It did help that most of the rest of the staff, from conditioning and strength to medical, all stayed on board. But how has her time in charge gone?

The 12th Eagles' Cup was her first task, trying to get some results in a tournament that we're historically not very good in. That's partially caused by the squads we send, which don't tend to include the big names and instead focus on under-23 and fringe talent. The kind of players that make up a decent part of our World Cup (qualification) selections but don't end up playing all that much. Still, she got a respectable fifth place out of it. The biggest test was yet to come, though, because a Ko-orenite coach will be put on full blast not because of regional tournaments or invitationals, but the World Cup itself. Inheriting a World Cup-winning team might sound easy to some, it came with its own challenges. Keeping a team hungry despite just winning the sport's biggest prize; managing a team of experienced players who've seen it all and might not want to change their playing style; following up amazing results with equally amazing results.

In the World Cup 90 qualifiers she did experiment a little bit, slowly introducing a formation that sounds even more defensive than what we had (5-3-2 -> 5-4-1) but instead was supposed to give us a stronger midfield with more versatile options in the build-up and a more possession-oriented style. She introduced some new players to a veteran lineup (some might call that 'old'). Finishing first in the group, she took the team to the World Cup proper, where the groups were survived on 5 points, and following it up with Ko-oren's third best finish at the tournament with a quarterfinal exit.

Up next was the CAFA dominance. Davenport insisted on taking the veterans and the stars, not just the most promising players with a focus on local - Top League and Second Division - talent. It paid off: her playstyle, her type of players, and her slightly different takes on the minutiae of the managerial job had the Dragonflies play two CAFA Cup finals. Two losses, but still - give me a list of teams who appeared in two CAFA Cup finals. It's not a long list, I'll tell you. Defeating pretty big names like Savigliane, Mertagne, Audioslavia, and Huayramarca - not just the top of Anaia but KPB heavyweights too.

The World Cup marched on, though, and she conquered first place in the qualifiers of World Cup 91 as well. Four points were enough in the group proper for the knockouts, producing our ninth Round of 16 exit. Once again, the team couldn't finish first in the group - the golden generation wasn't completely gone yet and a top 16 finish isn't an indication that the good times are gone, but things just got very Ko-orenite very quickly again. And in 92, the team stumbled to twelve wins and seven (!) draws in 20 qualifiers, finishing second, surviving the playoffs (as we tend to do, actually), but losing the crucial third group match for a rare group stage exit. In the middle of that, an early qualifying match was lost to Chromatika 3-0, and even though the team wouldn't lose again during the rest of the campaign, the public image focused on it. The Dragonflies, once again, couldn't win a crucial game at the World Cup, ending our run after just three fixtures.

Then, World Cup 93. We're barely halfway during the third - and possibly final - cycle of Juliasterinthen's presidency. An early 4-1 loss to Quebec and Shingoryeo - three goal deficits to Anaian nations, what else is new at this point - has the team play catch up from the start. They do, for a while, before taking first place and promptly losing it on a 4-1 loss to the Harry Islands, a team so far untested by international football.

What's the verdict?

It's nearly impossible to follow up the career of Juliasterinthen, first and foremost. Under his last three cycles, the team started scoring more and conceding a little more already, but Davenport took that further in her first cycle in charge. 1.86 goals per game - a tad lower than the near-perfect 87 and 88 cycles - and 0.43 goals conceded, that produced a goal difference per game of 1.43 which is just about as high as it's ever been for us - save cycles 87 and 88, and strangely is also worse than the previous Dragonfly Golden Age of World Cups 65-71, where we should have won our first knockout matches but somehow it just didn't happen. Still, it's way above average nonetheless.

World Cup Q 91: 1.15 GD per game, on a defensive masterclass allowing 0.25 goals per game (that's one goal per four games) and yielding a lot of praise from the Ko-orenite media.
World Cup Q 92: 1.00 GD per game, conceding more goals (0.3 per game, which is still less than once per three games) but a remarkable comedown in goals scored - 1.4 per game.
World Cup Q 93, MDs 1-12: 0.92 GD per game, conceding at rates not seen since World Cup 80 (when it was 1.39), allowing 0.92 goals per game (or about one per ninety minutes) but scoring 1.83 goals per game.

Those scoring rates deserve more looking into.

Juliasterinthen had two miracle cycles - you know them by now, 87 and 88, in which the team produced 1.89 and 2.17 (!!) goals per game, but otherwise teams struggled to even get to 1.5 during his reign. Under Davenport, the team's floor has turned from 1.00 into 1.40 and we're trending towards 1.8 goals scored per game as a default rather than the 1.3/1.4/1.5 under Juliasterinthen. The team is simply scoring more goals, and for a while, without giving up a lot either.

So Davenport has met her challenges head on: establishing a new, younger, core of players in the post-Juliasterinthen and post-World Cup Champion era; introducing her style involving more possession, more goals (scored), taking the team into the 'meta of the 90s'; continuing to qualify for the World Cup, now sitting on 10 straight qualifications. We all know it can't last, but we never expect the current cycle to be the end of the trend.

That said, Dragonflies managers tend to have incredible longevity. Juliasterinthen was in charge for 12 cycles, taking them from 150+ on the KPB ranking to the final twice. How do you even follow that up? Before him, it was Antonescu for four cycles, who won us a Cup of Harmony. Before him it was Rilasthaunden, giving us our first World Cup qualification, first AOCAF participation (all the way to our first AOCAF semifinal), and established us in the Cup of Harmony. So Davenport shouldn't be too worried, the KFA tends to support their managers for a very long time.

So Davenport has done everything right. And yet... if these qualifiers go as they are, and we miss the tournament, how patient will the KFA be?

The Sentient Objects Awaken

Hannah stepped back from the periscope. She had heard of the sentient objects of Sylestone, but up to this point had found it hard to believe.

Hannah: "Is this Sylestone?"

Killer Bob: "That's right, we've made it to the city of Kirkham. We need to ask these sentient objects for some diesel, but they're quite shy around strangers, so no sudden movements or noises. Most important of all, don't laugh at their googly eyes, they're very sensitive about that."

Øystein (who had been let out of the broom closet), Hannah, Killer Bob, Goran and Gilbert left the submarine and entered the bar where the washing machine, dishwasher and toilet had been seen entering.

Killer Bob: "Hey there guys, we're in desperate need of some diesel. Do you know anyone who could help us… please?"

Washing Machine: "We can't promise anything to strangers, not without our leader's permission."

Killer Bob: "Who's your leader? Can we meet him… or her… or it?"

Washing Machine: "Our leader is A Fridge, I can arrange a meeting if you like."

That night the gang were invited into the leader's compound. All the sentient objects of Kirkham were there, staring intently at the five strangers who had come to their land seeking help.

A Fridge: "Ano ang gusto nila?"

Washing Machine: "Our leader wants to know what is it that you want."

Gilbert: "Dudes… I can like, speak Sylestonean, I studied it at university."

Hannah: "Why would you choose to study Sylestonean?"

Gilbert: "Dude… what do you want me to study, Accounting?"

Gilbert asked A Fridge for some diesel, as he explained the whole story of trying to take down the evil cabal.

Sentient Objects: "Aaarrgghh!"

Gilbert: "Ang Baggieland ay condemned ng The World Assembly."

Sentient Objects: "Boo hoo!"

A Fridge had a discussion with its inner circle, then gave its decision to Gilbert.

Gilbert: "Dudes, there's a sentient diesel pump, they'll give us all the fuel we need. They'll also give us a sentient map, so we don't have to rely on Øystein anymore!"

As the five, together with a sentient map headed back to the submarine, they saw a familiar figure walking down the street towards them.

Hannah: "Is that Lars Varg and his mum? Hi Lars, what are you doing here?"

Lars: "We're on holiday."

Hannah: "Well, we're on our way to Baggieland. We're going to take down a secret society that's manipulating world financial markets, the same guys that kidnapped you. Do you want to come with us?"

Lars: "Can I Mum?"

Lars' Mum: "I don't know darling, it sounds a little dangerous to me."

Lars: "MUM! I've already had wolf repellent sprayed in my face and been kidnapped by pirates. How could this be any worse?"

Lars' Mum: "Well, okay then, but I'm coming with you."

Lars: "Great! Hang on… is that the meanie Goran McEnroe with you? What's that bad man doing here?"

Killer Bob: "Listen kid, we need Goran's help, but I'm aware of the history between you two. If you're to come with us, we need you two to settle your differences."

Lars: "How?"

Killer Bob: "I know of an ancient Baggielandian custom where a wrongdoer must let the wronged kick him in the nutsack without retaliating. Does that sound good?"

Goran: "I am bound by my ancestors' traditions."

Lars' Mum: "I don't know about this darling. Remember Lars, we should never solve differences with violence. There has to be a nicer way."

Lars: "SPREAD YOUR LEGS GORAN!"

With Lars and Goran now on good terms, everyone headed back to the now refuelled submarine.

Killer Bob: "Right Øye, you and that sentient map take us to Baggieland."

Map: "Hey you schmuck, be careful with those chart dividers, they really tickle!"

Killer Bob: "Let's try and submerge again, can anyone remember how we did that before?"

Lars: "You don't want to submerge!"

Killer Bob: "What… why do you say that?"

Lars: "When I was kidnapped, Captain Fletcher taught me all about submarines. These old diesel rust-buckets travel most efficiently on the surface, otherwise you'll drain the batteries. We only need to dive once we get close to Baggieland and need to avoid detection."

Killer Bob: "Fucking hell Øye! You worked on this fucking sub for two years, yet this kid fucking knows more than you!"

Lars' Mum: "Cover your ears darling, I don't want you hearing bad words."

Lars: "I believe he said 'fucking' Mummy."

A Few Hours Later

Øystein: "The map says we should be nearing Baggieland now."

Killer Bob: "Let's have a look through the periscope. There's land alright, but I don't see any Baggielandian flags. Wait… what's that there? That's the flag of Cap Nord! Øye you nincompoop… you've done it again! How can you misread the map when the map talks to you!"

Map: "That schmuck had me upside down the whole time!"

From Seed to Stead: The Principles of Increasing Agricultural Yield in Small-Holdings
by Abigaile Farrer
This late Renaissance text is widely considered to be one of the first Fligsivi-Magnaean ‘how to’ guides, and the farming principles outlined in this text proved to be vital to settlers in Modern Mertagne who were looking for food security. Being able to feed your citizens is widely outlined as the core foundation of a nation, and while we live in a globalised society and also not on an island, it is still vitally important to be able to grow food well in house. Much of Mertagne’s land was spoiled soil from years of warfare and neglect, or wet peatland in places such as Dannmarsh, but a decades long comprehensive soil rejuvenation project using many of the ideas found within this text has enabled Mertagne to become a net exporter of key foods such as potatoes, grains, and other vegetables.

Farrer wrote this text at a time where many were abandoning the field to work in Fligsive & Magnaeus’s cities, as trade jobs were bringing in higher pay. A food shortage was likely on the horizon, and many of Fligsive & Magnaeus’s farms had not adapted to modern farming standards of the time, with many failing to implement advanced crop rotation policies and sticking to the ‘three field’ system of medieval yore. One of the first widespread mechanically printed books in Fligsive and Magnaeus, From Seed to Stead allowed for a huge increase in farming yields that enabled more and more workers to leave for the cities, and the events following its publication are widely credited with kickstarting the Industrial Revolution in Fligsive and Magnaeus, and enabling a faster recovery during the Mertagnian Expansion period.

Text Summary:

In the text, Farrer introduces and highlights the importance of using improved equipment (such as the Ko-orenite plough, which could be pulled with fewer animals), the growing of fodder crops such as turnips instead of allowing fields to lie fallow, the use of convertible husbandry, by which animals are left to graze in growing fields, and the use of selective breeding of livestock and arable plants to accentuate desirable traits.

Farrer cites examples throughout the text, primarily linking each of these innovations to how they can increase the agricultural yield of small, subsistence farmers. This was by design - Farrer wanted these subsistence farmers to be able to move from just feeding their own families to producing enough food and goods to be able to make a living from their trade, incentivising business and development of the countryside in the two Syndicatian kingdoms.

About the Author:

Abigaile Farrer was born east of what was the town of Nostromo in a village called Squire’s Pike in the late Renaissance period. The daughter of a horseshoe maker, and to be inheritor of a local family business, it is rumoured that Abigaile Farrer displayed an aptitude for animal husbandry at at early age, managing to soothe horses that came by the business to have their shoes fitted. She married a farmer, Thomhampton Strenge, at the age of 16, and set about working as a farmer’s wife, learning much about the ways of agriculture in that time. Strenge died when Abigaile Farrer was 25, and she decided to sell the farm and move to Magnaeus, enrolling at the newly created Black Peak University in Magnaeus and working as what we would now call an agricultural scientist. After several years of research, she compiled several of the innovations she had discovered were emerging on other nations and sent the book to be printed. The book was an immediate success, and Farrer worked hard to make sure the book could be printed and thus sold as cheaply as possible, to ensure it could be placed in the hands of those that needed it the most. Profits were given to Black Peak University, and sadly Farrer was not paid a decent wage at the institution due to her status as a woman and a widow. Her later life would be marred by controversy as she successfully sued Black Peak University for a sizeable sum of the profits generated from the book - one of the first cases of its kind in Fligsive & Magnaeus. Farrer lived to the age of 66, and died from tuberculosis in the farm where she had lived for 9 years with Strenge - that she had managed to buy back with the money earned from the court case. The Farrer family survives to this day, with many of her descendants (through the Strenge name) living in the Euran Oceania Territories). The Farm, Farrer-Strenge Farm, now serves as a museum dedicated to her life and the agricultural principles she was able to uncover for the nation.

OOC - sitting in Heathrow Airport waiting for my flight to Paraguay; this may be my last RP for a week. My apologies; one of those 'RL takes priority things'.

STATUS: MORE TIP-TOPPITY SECRET THAN THE TIPPIEST-TOPPIEST SECRET

SUBJECT: NOZI ACTIVITY IN ORDINARY REALITY

TO: SENIOR DEPUTY UNDERSECRETARY OF THE PURPLE INKWELL

Dear Senior Deputy Undersecretary,

I have it on good authority that you have been following Michigan Smith's quest to stop Nozis from acquiring the Lost Ark of the Oneiromancer with some interest, and have been following the Holy Empire's attempt to qualify for World Cup 93 almost as keenly following the hamstermech fiasco of World Cup 92.

I believe that you have expressed concerns for Michigan Smith following recent reports that he had been trapped in the Well of Souls in Damukuni in the immediate aftermath of our away match in the nation. Rest assured that the resourceful Dr Smith has escaped following an adventure involving an experimental Nozi airplane, a jeep, and a submarine (these are all mundy means of transportation). Alas, he was unable to stop the Nozis from carrying off the Lost Ark, but I believe he's tracking them down around matchdays, and SBIS are supporting via intelligence from the Imperial Panopticon. We have good reason to believe that the Ark has been taken to one of the other nations in qualifying Group 9, where the Nozis plan on opening the Ark to summon the power of the Oneiromancer and launch the Second Event. No doubt there are many senior officials of the Purple Inkwell who are concerned, but we have every faith in Dr Smith's ability to avert disaster. I'm sure you'll agree that archaeologists are - by their very nature - debonair, witty, intelligent, and irresistible to the sex/gender of their choosing.

Meanwhile, I draw your attention to the Group 9 table where the Holy Empire are undefeated, top the table, and would have had maximum points but for a slight wobble at home againt Cardenao, in a match that ended in a 2-2 draw. No doubt this qualifying success comes from the team being led by an archaeologist. Have I mentioned that archaeologists are debonair, witty, intelligent, and irresistible to the sex/gender of their choosing?

Meanwhile, we continue to be alert to other incidences of Nozi activity in Ordinary Reality. While Hittner and his goons have paid considerable attention to locating the Lost Ark, we have kept a close eye on his other attempts to advance Notional Situationalist ideology while seeking out other items of arcane power.

First of all, I refer you to this report from Delte:

¡¡¡Nozis At The Women's Institute!!!
Junior Pencil Sharpener & Political Editor Polka Lunn at the Women's Institute in Rake Teinton for the Shingarter Herald
Wave after wave of scandal following the controversial election of Old Wives' Gala Queen Betty Ormray, having lost the first vote with an endorsement rating of zero but gaining office after the ill-fated record short term of Mrs. Taughtpurse, shows no sign of abating with more trouble on the horizon for the WI. The ladies were on high alert after receiving thirty-five exclamation marks from the State Bureau of Imperial Security of The Holy Empire, and discovered to their absolute horror that a urinal - a urinal, no less - had been sealed in a glass exhibition case and left in the porch of the WI Hall here in Rake Teinton, at the very heart of Old Wives' Gala country. Hardly their fault, you might think, but Betty Ormray immediately set about forcing a cover-up of the whole affair only to be thwarted by an anonymous dog whistle blower who alerted the Shingarter Herald. What has Betty got to hide? Why have the Nozis targetted the Women's Institute? The WI have been contacted but so far have made no comment.

On further review, this was the result of a Nozi disinformation campaign designed to distract us from the potential discovery of the Well of Souls in Damukuni. Several Ordinary Reality nations have been the targets of these diversionary Notional Situationalist dadaist art exhibitions. For example, it's my understanding that Vilita hosted a an exhibition of snow shovels titled 'Prelude to a Broken Arm', while the Squornshelan Remnant States are believed to have hosted a quixotic art exhibit focused on a painting called 'Sweyn Imperator, portraying the former emperor of Squornshelous as an anthropomorphic spinning top dancing in a vast, empty landscape. I am relieved to be able to report that, for the most part, these exhibits have done nothing to convert residents to Notional Situationalist, instead simply leaving viewers bemused and/or confused.

Of far greater concern was this report from Darmen:

Darmen wrote:Interior Secretary Acknowledges Concern About Notional Situationists
SCOTT CITY - Henrik Augustine, Secretary of State for the Interior, made several remarks today in his routine weekly press conference which will either go down as an important moment in Darmeni history or ultimately be relegated to the footnotes of a poorly peer reviewed 11th grade history text book.

"It has come to the attention of the National Investigation Bureau and by extension therefore the Interior Department, that a certain group known as the Notional Situationists has at least some presence in Darmen," claimed Augustine. Augustine further stated that the group, "... appears to be fairly young in its origins. Despite this, our intelligence suggests that it has established a network capable of sophisticated operations spanning multiple nations, regions and probably even dimensions."

Rumors about the existence of the group have been swirling around Darmeni social media and message boards for the past couple of weeks, with a number of conspiracy theories developing about the group and its motives. While most commentors seemed only curious about the group, others seemed worried that the group posed a serious threat and that it's activities could have disastrous effects for the world.

Augustine admitted that Darmeni authorities do not yet have a firm grasp on the group's intentions or even its ideology, although the Secretary seemed to think that the Notional Situationists were in the same boat on the latter point. "All we can say so far, with the limited information we have available to us, is that they seem to have a fascination with the occult. In particular, their leader, Rudolf Hittner, appears to be a rabid collector of ancient artefacts he believes have supernatural powers."

Secretary Augustine is reportedly seeking the help of Darmen's Ministry of Magic in collating a list of any ancient or magical artefacts located in Darmen which might pique the interest of the Notional Situationists and securing them in an effort to stymie the group's efforts in Darmen.

Sibyl Radcliff, head of the Ministry of Magic's Department of Magical Artifacts, itself a subagency of the Department of Magical Research and Regulation, is fairly confident that the Notional Situationists won't be successful if they try to retrieve any magical objects within Darmen. "Our laws make it very clear that the local wizarding population is to keep objects which may be used for magic secure so that they don't fall into Muggle hands. I'm sure the Muggle Interior Department will be most pleased when we present our list of unsecured objects to them and they see how short it is."

Radcliff stated that the only potential object to her knowledge that might be of interest to the Notional Situationists is the ancient crystalline statue of Aloysius Bristlecone, a famous wizard from the 17th century. "It's public knowledge that the statue of Mister Bristlecone is located just outside of Piddleton deep in the Tyger forest. It's long been said that sitting on the statue's lap will allow one to see the future, but as far as my Department's aware, that's all hogwash."

Radcliff would go on to state, "Well actually, now that I say that, as far as my Department's aware, we're not entirely convinced that it actually is a statue of Mister Bristlecone. You see, the statue's proportions aren't exactly what the average viewer would consider human and the head's gone missing. No idea where its rolled off to. Frankly, we're not even convinced the statue has any connection to the local wizarding population, but don't tell that to the nearby Muggle bed and breakfast. Their... um, what do you call it... website is it... seems to make it clear beyond doubt that the statue and the myths attached to it are totally legit."

We sent the Holy Empire football team to investigate the ancient crystalline statue of Aloysius Bristlecone following the 2-1 away victory over Darmen in Matchday 10. Alas, it seems that the Notional Situationalists were attempting to locate the statue. Far worse, they reached the site before us, purloined the statue from the Tyger forest, and are believed to hope to use it as part of their Oneiromancer summoning ritual when they attempt to open the Ark.

So far, we have managed to keep the theft of the statue from the Department of Magical Research and Regulation through the simple expedient of using advanced oneirology to project a solid three-dimensional illusion of the statue in its original location. However, this illusion will likely cease functioning after Matchday 14, at which point I believe it not unlikely that the Darmen Ministry of Magic may express concern over this turn of events. I shall do my best to keep you informed.

Sincerely Yours,

Nicephorus Lascaruso
