Licana on the M-21A2 MBT: "Well, it is one of the most badass tanks on NS."
Vortiaganica: Lamoni I understand fully, of course. The two (Lamoni & Lyras) are more inseparable than the Clinton family and politics.
Triplebaconation: Lamoni commands a quiet respect that carries its own authority. He is the Mandela of NS.

and he's right, but why -- ignoring all the native shinshukyo -- was the unification church the one to capture ldp wallets?

The Moonies are pretty ardent anti-communist and aggressive proselytizers, it makes sense that they would make some inroads with right-wing Japanese people. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
01/15/1583 2000 GST: The trial for the murder of Faurgamu Reiks, the former head of National Revival who had connections to the terrorist group the Harjis Witoth, comes to a conclusion. Both Awareik Fairgunein and Hawi Marthal were convicted of second-degree murder. The public has a mixed response, with some agreeing with the sentencing and others believing the killing was justified. Presiding judge Aiktriu K. Kam responds, "I stand with the law, not public opinion."

It's honestly interesting, considering Abe himself was part of Nippon Kaigi, an organization that supports state Shintoism.

State Shinto is a historically contentious idea. It's more accurate to say that Nippon Kaigi supports the pre-war state's use of Shinto rituals to support ideals of patriotism, which wasn't a religious position (the state actually banned priests from discussing theology during the Meiji Period). Instead these rituals were supposed to be a political ideology or imperial philosophy, one that subjects of the empire could follow while still believing in Buddhism, Christianity, or some other religion. There's actually a number of Christian LDP politicians, including prime minister Taro Aso, who participated in visits to Yasukuni Shrine as a result.

So like Confucianism in Imperial China, not mutually exclusive with ritualistic/religious practices from other traditions?

generally, yes. it's important to keep in mind, however, that shinto itself wasn't an invention of the meiji regime. shintoism has likely been around since before historical records even existed and is arguably one of the oldest religions on the planet. state shinto can basically be summed up as an extension of previous government attempts to control the faith, such as the tenpo reforms, combined with modern anti-foreign nationalism and renewed japanese patriotism in general.United Valik wrote:

Same here. Same here. The persecution gets old after a while. And what they did to New Edom and others was just plain wrong.

The rules are very clear on rape fantasies not being allowed here. There are sites more suitable for that kind of thing, but this one isn't it.
