BoF73 Everything - WC86 Bid - WC Discussion Thread
Presenting the very early posting of the World Cup 86 roster thread. As most of you know, the World Cup is not going to start until after the conclusions of the Baptism of Fire, but Drawkland and I have opted to post this now, so that there is plenty of time for people to plan out their roster and get it posted before we eventually do begin. We want to get as many rosters for this World Cup as we possibly can, so for now this is the only thread that will be posted this early for World Cup 86. Remember that while there is no rosterless penalty with our bid, there is a very generous roster bonus provided, and late rosters (after MD1) will not be able to get the maximum roster bonus.
Creating the roster:
At the very least, you want to inform everyone of the eleven starting players who will be proudly representing your nation. Listing the reserves is also strongly advised, as is telling everyone who the manager is. You can even providing a detailed list of staff members!
You will also probably want to tell us information about your national stadium, or stadiums, and can feel free to indulge us with as much detail about them as you can, or just give us the basics. Half of your qualifying games will be played in your home country, so it is beneficial to all to know about your facilities.
Also commonly found in roster posts is the preferred formation or tactics used by the team. You don’t have to stop there, and can give us national background, traditions, historical accomplishments, pictures of your teams kits, information about your fans. Or, just any kind of cool information you want the entire world to know about team.
Provide a style modifier:
A style modifier is a number from -5 to +5 that tells us how your team prefers to play their games. -5 is the most defensive, and +5 is the most offensive. 0 is neutral. A +5 system might give you 3-4 goals per match, or more; but don’t be surprised if you are also conceding that many. Same thing works for a -5, but in reverse. Nations that do not provide a style modifier will receive a neutral zero modifier.
RP Permissions Box:
Finally, something that is very important in a roster post is the RP permissions box. Here, you are telling the opponent what is acceptable and not acceptable for them to RP about your team when providing a game recap. The first to RP a match is the one who can tell the story of the match. If you’re opponent has provided details about how your and their goals were scored, then you need to follow along with that.
- Code: Select all
My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:
Choose my goalscorers: Yes/No
Godmod scoring events: Yes/No
RP injuries to my players: Yes/No
Godmod injuries to my players: Yes/No
Hand out yellow cards to my players: Yes/No
Hand out red cards to my players: Yes/No
Godmod other events: Yes/No
If you have any questions about anything, please do not hesitate to ask, but do so in the discussion thread, or via telegram.
