Ambrosia graciously accepted the meatball from Freya and tucked it into her mouth. While Ambrosia certainly leaned more towards vegetarian products, she was certainly not adverse to the taste of meat but t hat horse meatball was something Ambrosia had never tried before. She almost felt guilty that she was currently chowing down on the meat of an animal that she considered to be the epitome of grace and beauty. Unfortunately for the horses, horse meatballs proved to be delicious and Ambrosia would be lying if she didn't feel like the horse meat tasted sweet to some extent. It was certainly a unique experience but Ambrosia made sure to give Freya a reassuring closed-lip smile while munching. Salem, on the other hand, was reaching new heights of euphoria. His body twitched at the taste of the meatballs. Ambrosia attempted to catch his attention but it was too late, Salem had reached cloud nine for the duration. Finally, the two had finally finished eating. Ambrosia took the nearest napkin on the table to dab her mouth and remove any stains while it looked like Salem was contemplating on leaving Ambrosia for the sake of Freya after experiencing the horse meatballs.
"Freya, I'll be completely honest with you...that was a pleasant surprise! If it's not any trouble, do you mind sending a pack? I'd love to introduce this to my family and I'll certainly be sure to give credit! Salem, what do you feel about the...Salem?" - Ambrosia
Salem's face simply screamed affection. All he wanted was more meatballs and he certainly did not shut his mouth about it.
"Your Majesty, for my sake, adopt me. I want to live in the country where these meatballs exist. Ambie, come on now, don't be a sourpuss and gift me to your girlfriend." - Salem
"Salem, I don't like reminding you but you're a prisoner, not a pet. While I'm rather sure she might smack you sideways if you caused her any trouble, I'm not going to hand over a dangerous criminal!...Sorry dear, Salem needs a tongue lashing sometimes." - Ambrosia
Ambrosia turned her attention towards Freya's computer, Astrid, and just like the majority of scientists, Astrid was rather inquisitive about Ambrosia's biological attributes in regards to drinking blood and while Ambrosia clearly understood that Astrid's intentions were far from malicious, she couldn't prevent her bright smile from cracking and her shoulders from slumping upon hearing a question that had been thrown at her by many other vampires for the sake of undermining Ambrosia's confidence in her own moral code. In this case though, Ambrosia was glad and surprised that Astrid was simply curious. She guessed scientists are just the most impartial beings in the universe which is a great break to have, compared to the narcissistic vampires she has to deal with back home on a daily basis.
"Well Astrid, to answer your question, the vampires back home don't actually need blood. Well, from my perspective at least, I think my people don't need blood and I choose to avoid it like the plague. If you ask every vampire back in my homeland, they'll tell you that they need blood. It's a simple lie. The blood of others is just a stimulant used to temporarily increase the power of a vampire. I don't know exactly how it works but it possibly has something to do with one's life force or nutrients found in 'foreign' blood. They need it because they need to feel powerful. Simply put, it's part of our nature to want to feel strong and drinking blood is one path to such power.
I just eat and drink everything else that doesn't have blood in it. You could say my diet is rather similar to a human's. If I go back to drinking blood, I might probably turn into a monster because of how long I've been going without drinking blood. There'd be a huge power spike if I drink blood now and I guess it becomes greater the longer I stay without blood. Ah well, I'm sure I'll be careful enough." - Ambrosia
Watching two individuals freak out at the concept of a talking cat was always such an enjoyable experience for Salem but it is disappointing to have someone like Ambrosia always correcting his behavior every time he wished to have fun at the expense of others. While Feodora's reaction was music to his ears, Salem was put off by the reaction of her husband. The presence of this tall imposing man would frighten any sane individual but in Salem's case, he was simply jealous but of course, he would never admit that. Salem realized his composure was that of an aggressive cat. He didn't need Ambrosia to correct him this time. If he wanted to prove his superiority, he had to play the Game. Salem switched his stance to a more noble, regal posture and decided to chat to the wolf that entered his den.
"Greetings sir. I must apologize for scaring your charming wife. It truly is a shame that people are afraid of my presence but I simply cannot help it.
I assume I can call you Kazimir or is that name reserved for Ambrosia only? In any case, you can simply call me Salem. It means 'Peace' in Hebrew so do not worry, be at peace for that is all I ever want. May I ask, are you a man of war? Before I was cursed, I was one of the most dangerous, if not the most dangerous generals, to ever live. Oh how the mighty have fallen! Anyways, may I inquire about your accomplishments on the battlefield? I'm sure you have many war stories to share. I'd love to start but I'd rather not get on Ambrosia's bad side. As you know, this bleeding heart is afraid of war.
Come along now. Take a seat and entertain Ambrosia and I with merry conversation." - Salem
During that impressive act by Salem, Ambrosia's face almost gave away the fact that Salem wanted to play with Mr. Ivanovich but she quickly stopped herself from laughing at Salem's shenanigans and decided to focus on the sweet couple. In any case, once Salem invited the two to sit, Ambrosia quickly got up to seat Kazimir and Feodora. It isn't surprising that Salem was irritated by Ambrosia's friendliness. Knowing that Ambrosia cherished the two would make it rather difficult for Salem to find ways to vex the two without vexing Ambrosia. Call Ambrosia a pacifist all you want but get on her bad side and you'll running for the hills. Salem was all too aware of such a trait but he was confident that he wouldn't trigger Ambrosia with his back and forth between Kazimir.
"I'm glad Zhen is doing fine. It's rather cold of me to not stay in touch with her but more importantly, Kazimir, I need to stress that I am rather happy to see you and Feodora again. This is not a pleasantry. I truly am! I see that Feodora's still as smart and beautiful as she always is and you're still an imposing figure too, Kazimir! Hah, how many leaders have you undermined just by looking at them? And Feodora, how are your lovely children? I'm hoping they don't cause any trouble to whoever is watching over them!" - Ambrosia
Ambrosia was interested in the vampires back in Tianshi's home. She wondered whether it was because those vampires were put in line by other greater powers as it is rather odd to hear about vampires who voluntarily are friendly. From her experience, vampires generally don't do well in a multi-cultural society, let alone a society with multiple species. Half vampires though are something Ambrosia has no idea about but being the lecherous individual that she is, Ambrosia's ears perked up when she heard about two half-vampire daughters. While Ambrosia was busy talking, Salem gave Tianshi the go ahead to stroke him. Salem felt rather powerful having someone who calls himself a 'Celestial' stroking him his back. In Salem's mind, such an act was a sign of submission but of course, he'd never tell Tianshi that. He simply acted like your typical cute, indifferent cat.
"Tianshi, are the vampires back in your home naturally friendly or are you good at keeping their violent tendencies in line? Because there is a huge difference between the two. Vampires, at least back home, aren't exactly...friendly from my experience. Sure, you can find friendly vampires like me but there's a huge need for power that resides in every vampire and that causes them to be violent.
I mean, regarding the whole cliche about vampires, I'm afraid to say that vampires back in my home are not as friendly as you want them to be. Even if they end up admiring you, they have an odd way of expressing their admiration. However, I will tell you this. We're a straightforward people! Come by any time. I'll make sure no one annoys you.
....Also, if you're comfortable with talking about your two dear daughters, how are they like? Do they...by any chance...remind you of me? Because if that's the case, then I pity you for having such troublesome daughters! I caused too much trouble to my father as a teenager, 'Whoever it is that his soul' rest his soul."
Ambrosia was so caught up with the people she was entertaining that she was completely unaware of Amaki who went behind Ambrosia to wrap her arms around her, similar to what Ambrosia did to Amaki when they were outside of the White House. To her, she was caught off base and yelped in reaction to this embrace out of nowhere. Ambrosia wheeled around to see who this admirer was, with her eyebrows furrowed to indicate her displeasure with such an act. Realizing it was Amaki, Ambrosia went from slightly irked to embarrassed, proven by her face reddening. She cupped her face in her hands for a few seconds to collect herself then she let a few giggles escape to lessen the awkwardness of the situation.
Before proceeding with anything, Ambrosia first apologized to the group on her table and notified them that she'd be back in a jiffy. She decided it was best to talk to Amaki a good distance away from the table, not too far for it to be considered suspicious but enough to give them the privacy they need. Ambrosia was silent as she guided Amaki away from the table until they reached a suitable area. Before one could say anything, Ambrosia stood up on her tip toes (Amaki's got a height advantage over Ambrosia) to give Amaki a proper, warm hug as an apology for being such a dramatic airhead, resting her head on Amaki's shoulders.
Ambrosia made sure the hug meant something by making sure Amaki couldn't escape until the 20 second hug rule was fulfilled. After that was done and dusted with, Ambrosia let go of Amaki but not before giving her a quick playful peck on the cheek.
"I'm sure the hug was a good enough apology but just in case, I'm rather sorry for getting so carried away by the influx of guests. You know me! if someone was doing some tricks with a YoYo, chances are I'll drop everything just to cheer them on and yes, if you haven't realized, I'm a doofus. C'est la vie, Amaki!
Anyways, if I heard you correctly, you said you wanted time for one more? One more what? A hug! Well, your wish has been fulfilled. Do recommend this little ol' genie to your colleagues now!"- Ambrosia
Just like a squirrel, Ambrosia's attention span was not able to stay focused on one thing for long and she switched her focus to Amara, who was simply standing near her mother. Ambrosia dropped to her knees so she was on the same level as Amara's face and decided to play around with Amara by making roaring sounds and playfully swiping at Amara so she could elicit a few giggles from the little girl. Just a few seconds of playing with Amara and Ambrosia's mind was already thinking of something else. She looked back up at Amaki to speak her mind
"Amaki, do you want to come over to my table and have a chat with some good company? Don't worry, you and Amara will most certainly sit next to me and if this little tyke doesn't mind, she could sit on my lap if she's not afraid of the big scary vampire! How about it Amara?" - Ambrosia
