2024-25 FBA Regular Season

Postby Abanhfleft » Sat May 19, 2018 12:19 am

The last season has been one of the darker periods in the history of the Fleftic Basketball Association. After the expiration of the FBA Collective Bargaining Agreement, FBA team owners initiated a lockout on July 1, 2023 after negotiations between the owners and the Fleftic Basketball Players' Association (FBPA) failed to produce an agreeable deal for both sides. As the lockout wore on into the second half of the year, the chances of a declaration of a total and complete cancellation of the 2023-24 season went higher and higher until finally, on January 29, 2024, FBA Commissioner Rufino Vargas announced the cancellation of the rest of the 2023-24 season, much to the disappointment and annoyance of Abanhfleft's basketball fans. The lockout has also seen the biggest star of Fleftic basketball at the moment, Leonidas Baxter, leave his team of thirteen years the Malabon Black Ops to play ball with the Hudson Islands' Manchester Tigers, and other stars like Jan Harris, Boris Barry and Giorgio Katatonoios have also moved to the Pridnestrovian Basketball Super League for the rest of last season to keep up fitness levels for the International Basketball Championships.

A new CBA was finally agreed upon by the owners and the players on February 20, 2024, thus setting the stage for the grand return of the FBA for the 2024-25 season, and while a vast majority of players who went abroad during the lockout are expected to return to the league this season, others like Leo Baxter may choose to stay with their new teams from abroad. As it was, the 2024-25 FBA regular season started on October 29, 2024 and ended on April 16, 2025. Here are the final standings of the teams at the end of the regular season.

Not much to report on for this round of the FBA playoffs, but there are still some newsworthy items here and there. There was no sweeps to report of in the Central Conference playoffs, and the closest that a team came to sweeping their series was, to no one's surprise, Malabon Black Ops, who are still going strong in the Central Conference despite the loss of Leo Baxter due to last season's lockout. Malabon already had a commanding 3-0 lead but the Porcusces Giants were able to force a Game 5 by winning Game 4 by a slim 4-point margin, not that that helped them out much as Malabon just absolutely smashed them to pieces in said Game 5. The Lotharstadt Grenadiers certainly tried to make their series against the Mereilles Port Boys interesting by winning Games 4 and 5 but Mereilles head coach Hayden Dorola and his men finally put an end to the Grenadiers' hopes of advancing to the conference semifinals for the first time since 2010 by handily winning Game 6.

Meanwhile, over in the National Conference, it was completely the opposite thing that happened. We saw three sweeps in the National Conference, and one of the teams that swept their opposition is not who you would think it is. The 7th seed Pilken Mammoths absolutely dominated their series against the 2nd seed Affeddall Beasts and the Beasts were never really able to get close to the Mammoths in that series. Sure, Affeddall did get a little close in Game 4, but it was a case of "too little, too late" for their team. And to think that Affeddall won all three of their meetings against the Mammoths in the regular season, thus giving the bookies cause to see the Beasts as favorites to advance to the conference semifinals... In fact, the only National Conference team that were unable to completely sweep their opponents were the Mykorrigan MonStars, who narrowly lost Game 5 to the Sfax Scream, who were National Conference finalists only two seasons ago. But Mykorrigan got their act together and finished off the Scream in dominant fashion at the ad-Dantouwin Sports Center in Sfax to book their ticket to the conference semifinals.

As of the moment, there are no clear favorites to win the FBA Championship for this season, as all teams still in the playoffs have a fighting chance of winning it all against all opposition. This is a playoff series where people will be kept excited and anticipating more as the series goes by, and that is perhaps the best playoffs there could ever be. It's also a nice gift to the fans to make up for the mess that was the lockout of last season.

Here are the match-ups for the conference semifinals:

(1) Malabon Black Ops vs. (4) Uranium City Nukes

(3) Wanda Island Wizards vs. (2) Mereilles Port Boys

Now the playoffs is beginning to really shape up into a very interesting contest. Over in the Central Conference, apparently there is no such thing as home-court advantage, at least not until the final game of the series when it absolutely counts the most. At least that's what Malabon Black Ops fans will be saying to anyone who cares to listen. But there is certainly truth in their statements. And this series is quite possibly the best one that basketball fans will have seen for a long time. Everyone has gotten used to streaks and sweeps that to see such a back-and-forth contest between two very strong sides was a refreshing breath of fresh air. Unfortunately for Jazz Higgs and his Nukes, though, even a Leo Baxter-less Black Ops was more than they could handle, and it would be the side from Malabon moving on to the conference finals against Hayden Dorola's Mereilles Port Boys, who also went toe to toe with the Wanda Island Wizards before finally disposing of the second seed in the Central Conference playoffs.

Over in the National Conference, defending champions Markovsky Red Army have swept aside their next challengers Real Haritzaga Baloncesto, and when I say swept aside, I do mean swept aside. As in Haritzaga were swept in the series by the Red Army to set up yet another appearance in the National Conference Finals. The other side going to the Conference Finals is a bit of a bigger surprise, however. The Pilken Mammoths continue surprising the rest of the FBA with their surprisingly deep run into the playoffs. The Mammoths took the game right to the MonStars, and they have been rewarded for their tenacity with their first ever National Conference Finals appearance since 2000.

Here are the match-ups for the FBA Conference Finals:
Central Conference Finals
(1) Malabon Black Ops vs. (2) Mereilles Port Boys

National Conference Finals
(1) Markovsky Red Army vs. (7) Pilken Mammoths

2024-25 FBA Conference Finals
CENTRAL CONFERENCE FINALS
(1) Malabon Black Ops vs. (2) Mereilles Port Boys

Malabon Black Ops 65–70 Mereilles Port Boys
Malabon Black Ops 90
–67 Mereilles Port Boys
Mereilles Port Boys 70–65 Malabon Black Ops
Mereilles Port Boys 88–81 Malabon Black Ops
Malabon Black Ops 67–83 Mereilles Port Boys

Mereilles Port Boys
win the series 4-1

NATIONAL CONFERENCE FINALS

(1) Markovsky Red Army vs. (7) Pilken Mammoths

Markovsky Red Army 84–75 Pilken Mammoths
Markovsky Red Army 93–72 Pilken Mammoths
Pilken Mammoths 76–90 Markovsky Red Army
Pilken Mammoths 84–97 Markovsky Red Army

Markovsky Red Army
wins the series 4-0

So the Pilken Mammoths are human after all. Everyone was probably secretly rooting for the Mammoths to go through to their first ever FBA Finals since 1999 but alas, the defending champions from two seasons ago were simply too much for the boys from Pilken. And as it turns out, there is also a limit to how far the memory of Leo Baxter will be able to take his team, the Black Ops, and the answer is only up to the conference finals. To be fair to their opposition though, the Mereilles Port Boys were simply a better team on the hardcourt throughout the series, and it is they who deservedly go through to the FBA Finals.
2024-25 FBA Finals
It all comes down to this: seven games of pure and unadulterated basketball between the two best teams of the Fleftic Basketball Association, the champions of the Central and National Conferences. Newton Isaacs and the Markovsky Red Army are defending their title and are going to keep hold of it with all their heart and soul while Hayden Dorola looks to lift his first ever Agapito Benzon Trophy as a coach. Who will succeed? There's only one way to find out.

Markovsky Red Army 75–82 Mereilles Port Boys
Markovsky Red Army 78–85 Mereilles Port Boys
Mereilles Port Boys 71–85 Markovsky Red Army
Mereilles Port Boys 81
–72 Markovsky Red Army
Mereilles Port Boys 82–77 Markovsky Red Army

Mereilles Port Boys wins the FBA Finals 4-1

You can't make this stuff up, folks! This is such the fairytale ending to the Mereilles Port Boys' campaign that if this was offered as a movie script, it would be turned down as being too cliche. But Hayden Dorola and his players wouldn't care about that. Anyway, the Port Boys of Mereilles are your 2024-25 FBA Champions, and they will participate in the IUBC Trophy for next season. But that's all, folks, and til next time.

2024-25 PBSL Regular Season

Postby Trans-Dniesters » Sat May 19, 2018 7:14 am

The Pridnestrovian basketball clubs that participated in the most recent edition of the IUBC Trophy did well for themselves and generally gave a good accounting of the current state of Pridnestrovian basketball. Defending Pridnestrovian Basketball Super League champions BC CSKA Tiraspol and BC Admiral Novorossiysk did well in the group stages of the 13th IUBC Trophy (and BC Admiral actually managed to top their group while BC CSKA managed to get second place) but the less said about BC Dinamo Bender's IUBC Trophy campaign, the better for their fans. Both CSKA and Admiral also managed to make it as far as the quarterfinals of the IUBC Trophy playoffs, where they were both eliminated by objectively better sides. Admiral had the honor of bowing out of the competition to defending IUBC Trophy champions Carloburgo Knights from Valladares, and while the Knights were able to make it as far as the final, they fell at the final hurdle to Vanorian team Valanari Highlanders.

But enough about the past season. It is time now to see who makes it to the final eight of the Pridnestrovian Basketball Super League, as well as who will bring home the regular season championship.

18 Pepuza Patriots 34 8 26 2440 2706 −266 24 Relegated to Basketball Second Division

The regular season title goes back to Novorossiysk, the home of the Pridnestrovian Navy. In all honesty, Admiral had top spot in the PBSL locked up nice and tight as early as matchday 8, and if they had lost top spot as the league got into the home stretch, they would have had no one to blame but themselves, but as it is, BC Admiral Novorossiysk held on to top spot, and it is they who will hold the advantage in the playoffs and the team who will be going home with the PBSL regular season championship. At the other end of the table, BC Vitosha's stay in the top tier of Pridnestrovian basketball comes to an end after eight years and two playoffs appearances, and the Patriots of Pepuza will be going right back down with Vitosha to the Basketball Second Division to have a good long hard look at themselves and whether maybe they should just stay in the Second Division for a few more years or if they have a squad that is both capable of immediate promotion and a lengthier stay in the Basketball Super League than this time.

BC CSKA Tiraspol wins the series 3-0

Once again, there are no upsets to report of in the quarterfinals of the PBSL playoffs. Practically the four teams who occupy the top four spots in the regular season table have made it through to the semifinals. Only regular season champions BC Admiral Novorossiysk were unable to sweep their opponents off the field, and that's because their opponent is the Pridnestrovskaya Gavan Harbormasters, who have a tendency of running rampant in knockout competitions once they get into it. But Admiral had just enough in their tank to see off the challenge of the Harbormasters, and thus the Seamen advance to the semifinals along with the Cagers, the Sheriffs, and the Soldiers.

2024-25 PBSL Semifinals
(1) BC Admiral Novorossiysk vs. (4) Kesselburger Cagers

BC Admiral Novorossiysk 83–80 Kesselburger Cagers
Kesselburger Cagers 70–60 BC Admiral Novorossiysk
BC Admiral Novorossiysk 76–63 Kesselburger Cagers
Kesselburger Cagers 71–63 BC Admiral Novorossiysk
BC Admiral Novorossiysk 83–96 Kesselburger Cagers

Kesselburger Cagers
wins the series 3-2

(3) BC Sheriff Tiraspol vs. (2) BC CSKA Tiraspol

BC CSKA Tiraspol 92–77 BC Sheriff Tiraspol
BC Sheriff Tiraspol 63–77 BC CSKA Tiraspol
BC CSKA Tiraspol 90
–77 BC Sheriff Tiraspol

BC CSKA Tiraspol wins the series 3-0

Now that is what you call a semifinal! End-to-end stuff, no one team really dominating, and in the end, it all comes down to who's more on form for that deciding Game 5, and that team turned out to be Kesselburger Cagers. The 2022 PBSL Champions returns to the grandest basketball stage of all after a back-and-forth series against the regular season champions BC Admiral Novorossiysk, where they will meet the defending champions in BC CSKA Tiraspol, who swept aside their cross-town rivals BC Sheriff Tiraspol in quite dominating fashion. But the good news for Admiral fans is that their regular season championship will guarantee them a spot in the coming IUBC Trophy.

Kesselburg versus CSKA. Cagers versus Soldiers. Only one team can emerge triumphant, but who will that team be? There's only one way to find out, and that is to play the PBSL Finals.

BC CSKA Tiraspol 70–73 Kesselburger Cagers
Kesselburger Cagers 61–81 BC CSKA Tiraspol
BC CSKA Tiraspol 72–73 Kesselburger Cagers
Kesselburger Cagers 95
–70 BC CSKA Tiraspol

Kesselburger Cagers wins the PBSL Championship 3-1

And there we have it! Our new champion! Which also happens to be a former champion, but let's not worry about that at the moment. Aside from their dominant Game 2 performance, CSKA never really looked like they were capable of defending their title against this hungry Kesselburg side. And so the PBSL Championship and the Imran Plevneliev Trophy will return to Ixania and Kesselburg after a two-year stay in the Pridnestrovian capital. Expect the beer to flow all night long in Kesselburg before, during and after the open-top bus parade.

Приднестровская Гридиронная Суперлига
PRIDNESTROVIAN GRIDIRON SUPER LEAGUE

SEASON II RECAP

Hello yet again, friends and fellow fans in gridiron. The regular season of the second season of the Pridnestrovian Gridiron Super League is finally finished, meaning that we only have the postseason playoffs to worry about now. Sorry about dropping off the grid a short while back but my poor heart just couldn't take Pridnestrovia's loss to Drawkland in the World Bowl, but enough about disappointments. Let's go take a look at the second postseason of the PGSL. Here's a look at the brackets.

PGSL Season 2 Postseason - Quarterfinals Bracket
(1) Dinamo Bender vs. (8) Novonikolaysk Sharks

(4) Bratsk Dolphins vs. (5) Macaresti Dolphins

(3) CSKA Tiraspol vs. (6) Admiral Novorossiysk

(2) Sheriff Tiraspol vs. (7) Antakya Hawks

PGSL Season 2 Quartefinals
Dinamo Bender 3 10 3 7 23
Novonikolaysk Sharks 3 3 0 3 9

@ Dinamo-Stadion, Bender, Transnistria (official attendance 57,470)

Now on to the quarterfinals, and as we can see, Dinamo Bender's winning streak just keeps on going on. The Novonikolaysk Sharks may have thought that they may have had a chance of keep up with the Dinamo when they were able to keep the team from Bender on just a single field goal for the first quarter, and then the Dinamo offense exploded starting in the second quarter and the Sharks were left unable to respond except by mere field goals. Well, perhaps a Dinamo victory was expected in this round of the playoffs anyway. If Novonikolaysk had managed to defeat Dinamo at this stage of the playoffs, imagine the riots that would have ensued in Bender. It makes me glad that I've decided to support a more level-headed team like CSKA Tiraspol (tries to ignore the two times that CSKA fans rioted when CSKA lost the Top League title to Dinamo Bender in 1998 and 1999).

Bratsk Dolphins 7 0 0 7 14
Macaresti Gladiators 0 3 3 0 6

@ Stadion mira, Bratsk, Transnistria (official attendance 30,029)

It wasn't the best gridiron game there ever was, but the Dolphins of Bratsk have done just enough to move on to the semifinals of the PGSL. Camilla Fielding scored a 26-yard runner in the first quarter and Kelly Profit herself managed to make it into the end zone in the fourth quarter to put the Dolphins through to the next stage, while the Gladiators of Macaresti were only able to muster up two field goals for their efforts. Like I said, not the most exciting game of gridiron, but at least I have something to cheer about, because my second team the Dolphins are through to the semifinals. I cannot say the same thing for my first team CSKA Tiraspol, as we will see in the next game....

CSKA Tiraspol 7 0 3 3 13
Admiral Novorossiysk 10 10 10 0 30

@ New Army Stadium, Tiraspol, Transnistria (official attendance 76,415)

Why do I even bother with supporting the Army Team anymore if they're just going to keep breaking my heart season after season? This is a team that gives its supporters hope that they will finally manage to win the greatest gridiron football trophy in the Pridnestrovian Republic, but then they go and perform so poorly that it has allowed a team led by Stan Serban to score ten points per quarter in three quarters against them. Sure, the Army Team finally figured out how to defend in the fourth quarter, but by then it was already too late! How can the brothers Medvedev expect to win a Pridnestrovian Bowl with teammates like this? This is simply unacceptable for an organization like CSKA Tiraspol! I don't know whether I should demand a revamp of the team itself or a revamp of the coaching staff! It's hard to be a CSKA fan!

Sheriff Tiraspol 7 3 17 17 44
Antakya Hawks 7 3 7 7 24

@ Sheriff Stadium, Tiraspol, Transnistria (official attendance 19,824)

And to wrap up the quarterfinals, we have Sheriff Tiraspol taking on the expansion team the Antakya Hawks. And as you can see above, the results were not pretty to say the least. 34 points in a single half! Poor Antakya! Poor Hawks! Poor Din Goyal! He did his best to keep his team in the game but in the end, he just cannot do enough on his own. This game must surely have set a record for the highest scoring half in the PGSL postseason. This must be the darkest timeline for CSKA fans. Dinamo is undefeated, Sheriff set a new postseason scoring record, and Admiral beat CSKA to eliminate them from Pridnestrovian Bowl contention. Actually, no that wouldn't be the darkest timeline just yet. The darkest timeline would be if Dinamo beat CSKA 60-0 in the Pridnestrovian Bowl and gets to keep their undefeated. I do hope that that timeline never comes to pass. My hands shake as I type this as the shivers travel down my spine.

But that does it for the quarterfinals of the second season of the PGSL. Next time, I will finally post the semifinals results as well as the result of Pridnestrovian Bowl II. Although I gather that most of my fellow Pridnestrovians will already know the result, please, don't spoil it just yet for our fellow gridiron fans from overseas. До свидания.

Приднестровская Гридиронная Суперлига
PRIDNESTROVIAN GRIDIRON SUPER LEAGUE

SEASON II RECAP

Hello yet again, friends and fellow fans in gridiron. We are now in the semifinals of the second postseason of the Pridnestrovian Gridiron Super League, and frankly, I don't see any point in delaying this any longer. Let's just right in and find out who will contest the second ever Pridnestrovian Bowl.

PGSL Season 2 Semifinals
Dinamo Bender 10 10 14 3 37
Bratsk Dolphins 3 3 7 6 19

@ Dinamo-Stadion, Bender, Transnistria (official attendance 55,142)

Well, there goes the last remaining shreds of my motivation to watch the Pridnestrovian Bowl. Not only are the Bratsk Dolphins out of the competition, they have also been comprehensively humiliated by Dinamo Bender! Rodion Tarasenko and friends are simply unstoppable at the moment! Frankly, I am beginning to wonder if there is ever going to be a team who would be able to defeat this Dinamo Bender side and stop them from both winning another Pridnestrovian Bowl as well as go through an entire season undefeated. Rodion Tarasenko was untouchable, plain and simple. Kelly Profit did her best to keep up with Tarasenko but when the quarterback you're up against is capable of posting two 17-point quarters in a single playoff game, there's just no fighting against it. You can do everything you can to catch up but deep down, you just know that you will never even come closer to challenging those kinds of numbers. Still, it was an enjoyable ride for the Dolphins. They haven't been this far into the postseason before. But today was simply Dinamo's day. Let's leave it at that.

Admiral Novorossiysk 0 6 0 7 13
Sheriff Tiraspol 0 3 3 3 9

@ Admiral Stadium, Novorossiysk-na-Dnistr, Transnistria (offical attendance 58,047)

After the excitement and utter chaos that was the semifinal between Dinamo Bender and Bratsk Dolphins, it seems anticlimactic that this is how the second semifinal between Admiral and Sheriff should go. Or perhaps this is actually the fitting end to the semifinals that we deserve to have. After all, all the excitement and thrills and chaos appeared to have been used up by the Dinamo-Bratsk game. At first it looked like it was going to be a pure penalty shootout (where both teams score only field goals) before Abdulla Abdulganiyev saved this game from being such with his last-ditch touchdown in the fourth quarter to win the game for the Navy Team. Ugh, I hate to side with any team that is a rival of CSKA's, but for the sake of my fellow fans, I think I shall throw myself behind Admiral Novorossiysk in the hopes that they will be the ones who will end Dinamo Bender's unbeaten streak.

Pridnestrovian Bowl II
So now we have the second edition of the biggest gridiron football game in the Pridnestrovian Republic. Once again, Dinamo Bender participates in this showpiece game of Pridnestrovian gridiron football, but this time they will have a different and much more resistant opponent in Admiral Novorossiysk. Winner of the most recently concluded season of The Singers' Showdown Polina Daryshchenko sung the national anthem while Fleftic technopop band Shakespeare and the Globes performed in the half-time show. But enough about the half-time show and the entertainment. Let's get to the game itself.

Dinamo Bender 7 3 10 0 20
Admiral Novorossiysk 0 6 0 6 12

@ New Army Stadium, Tiraspol, Transnistria (official attendance 83,787)

And the winner of Pridnestrovian Bowl II is, unsurprisingly enough, Dinamo Bender. There will be no one to spoil Rodion Tarasenko and company's celebrations tonight as not only do they get to keep their Pridnestrovian Bowl, they also get to celebrate the fact that they have gone through an entire season of the Pridnestrovian Gridiron Super League undefeated! Bah, humbug! Not even Stan "The Man" Serban could do anything to stop the dreadful Dinamo from grabbing their second PGSL championship. Two field goals and a touchdown without a PAT is all that the Seamen have to show for themselves while Tarasenko and his right arm were on form today, finding FIlipp Akimov twice for Dinamo's two touchdowns. At this point I'm not even mad. We CSKA fans don't even have a regular season championship to hold on to now, but like I said, I ain't even mad.

Image
Congratulations to Dinamo Bender on winning Pridnestrovian Bowl II!

And that's the end of the second season of the PGSL! In a few weeks' time, I will post on the coming PGSL Draft. Not a lot of rumors swirling around that one, a change from last time, but at least it gives me the time to sit back and recharge and think about my life and my gridiron fandom. And that's a good thing, right? Until then, До свидания.

16 Manitogoro Madness 30 7 2 21 374 569 −195 32 2 7 41

Finally, after five seasons of saying "This year will finally be our year," it finally is the year of the Haranguer Death Worms, who take home their first ever Rugby Coalition title, becoming only the second Fleftic side in the competition to do so after the San Seriffe Bad Hombres. Speaking of the Bad Hombres, they actually would have come in second place in the table if the bonus points system was scrapped for the Rugby Coalition, but their relatively minimal haul of only ten bonus points means that they slip down to fourth place while Oshkosh Dnistrosh and Tikrit Oilers managed to sneak into second and third place respectively thanks to their bonus points. At the wrong end of the table are the Manitogoro Madness. Their pool of nine bonus points was not enough to lift them off of the foot of the table when everything has been said and done. At least it's not Albatross Bed Deg or Bierburg Sentinels anymore, right?

2025 Coalition Rugby League

Postby APOC Coalition » Mon Aug 27, 2018 3:32 am

The Coalition Rugby League is the APOC Coalition's premier rugby league tournament. There have been plans to start up a coalition-wide rugby league tournament following both the formation of the Rugby Coalition (the APOC Coalition's premier rugby union competition) and coalition founding member Abanhfleft's recent success in the Rugby League World Cup but these plans have been delayed due to both lack of funding and overall interest in the sport in the member nations of the Coalition (aside from Copper Cuprum, in which rugby league is the de facto national sport). That is, until now. Finally, twelve teams (three each from the four member nations of the Coalition) have been established and assembled, and now the Coalition Rugby League is finally up and running.

Here are the twelve teams that make up the Coalition Rugby League:

The rules for the allocation of points for the Coalition Rugby League is different from the Rugby Coalition. Teams only get 2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, and no points for a loss. There are no bonus points in the Coalition Rugby League. There is also a playoff system in place for the Coalition Rugby League, in which the top two teams at the end of the regular season receive automatic byes to the semifinals of the playoffs while rest of the top six teams face off against each other (third versus fourth and fifth versus sixth), and then the winners of those playoffs will proceed to the semifinals to face the top two teams until only two teams remain, and then those two will contest the Coalition Rugby League title in a Grand Final.

Here is the final table of the regular season of the first ever season of the Coalition Rugby League.

The APOC Coalition: a loose politico-economic union between
Abanhfleft, Pridnestrovia, Oontaz Dert Li Ng and Copper Cuprum,
although it's only ever useful for international rugby and now ice hockey.

Organizers of the Rugby Coalition, the Coalition Rugby League, and the Koalition Hockey League
Obvious puppet of Abanhfleft is obvious

2025 Copperite Rugby League

Postby Copper Cuprum » Mon Aug 27, 2018 6:38 am

The Copperite Rugby League is the oldest sporting competition in the Chiefdom of Copper Cuprum. The Copperite Rugby League was founded in 1937 after a special meeting between the "Original Eight" teams that served as the founding members of the league (Giants, Bantams, Broncos, Dragons, Eagles, Stars, Eels, and Raiders) in which the eight came to an agreement that the formation of a league was the best solution to maintaining the popularity of the sport of rugby league in the chiefdom. Through the years, eight has expanded to eventually include the sixteen teams currently in the league, but of course there are teams that have folded, gone out of existence or otherwise merged with other teams to produce the Copperite Rugby League in its current form.

The rules of the Copperite Rugby League are simple: 2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, and no points for a loss. The nascent Coalition Rugby League takes the rules of the Copperite Rugby League as its inspiration since it is the form by which the vast majority of rugby league fans in the APOC Coalition (specifically, the fans from Copper Cuprum) have come to know and experience a competition for rugby league teams. The Copperite Rugby League playoffs are also both straightforward and complicated at the same time: the top eight teams of the Copperite Rugby League compete for a chance to reach the CRL Grand Final, but the top four teams first contest a chance to reach the preliminary finals while the next four teams fight for a spot in the semifinals. (OOC: The CRL playoff system is based on the one used by the National Rugby League in Australia.)

Here is the final table of the 2025 Copperite Rugby League.
2025 Copperite Rugby League regular season final standings
CRL Pld W D L PF PA PD Pts

8 South Ons Deg Rabbitohs 30 16 1 13 445 385 +60 33 Qualified for playoffs

9 Red Deg Adders 30 13 3 14 224 225 −1 29
10 Nay Deg Dragons 30 13 2 15 339 380 −41 28

14 Uld Deg Stingrays 30 11 0 19 289 384 −95 22
15 Nes Deg Stars 30 10 0 20 204 311 −107 20
16 For Deg Eagles 30 8 0 22 315 414 −99 16

The Pad Deg Harriers take home only their fifth ever minor premiership since they joined the CRL in the 1970s. That being said, in three of the seasons that the Harriers were the minor premiers, they also ended up going all the way and winning the premiership as well. As for last season's premiers, the South Ons Deg Rabbitohs have fallen from the lofty heights of their premiership season all the way to eighth place in the ladder. It's still enough to put them through to an elimination final against the Bulldogs, though, but after being third at the halfway mark of the season, the Rabbitohs will surely be disappointed that they allowed themselves to fall this far down the ladder. Meanwhile, the For Deg Eagles will take home the wooden spoon by virtue of having two fewer wins than last season's spooners the Nes Deg Stars.

Elimination Finals

Wa Deg Giants 6–14 Bed Deg Bantams

2025-26 Oontaznik First Division

Postby Oontaz Dert Li Ng » Tue Aug 28, 2018 1:15 am

MD38
Vigan Athletic 2–1 Pasargad Manitogoro
Habaniyyah Harriers 0–2 Racing al-Ampatuan
AC Luigi Brown 0–1 Atletico Novaliches
RCB Baler 1–0 Athletic Club Baguio
General Santos FC 2–0 General Trias Multiversal
Rayo La Presa 2–1 Racing Club Antipolo
Deportivo Mangudadatu 1–1 Hapoel Nineveh
Gryphons Nubalochi 1–1 Real Altamarino
Real Meycauayan 4–3 Botafogo de Maranao
Deportivo Cauayan 1–1 Red Horse Biñan

This was perhaps one of the most exciting final matchdays ever seen in the history of the Oontaznik First Division. Deportivo Cauayan, relegated to the Second Division back in the 2023-24 season before returning to the First Division by placing third in last season's Second Division, have led this season's First Division table for the majority of the season until losing out to Gryphons Nubalochi after a 0-0 draw against defending champions Real Altamarino on MD36. But after the Gryphons could only manage a 1-1 draw against Altamarino on MD38, Cauayan had the chance to be the first team in First Division history to win the title on the season of their promotion to the Oontaznik top flight since Vigan Athletic did it in 1965. Cauayan were leading 1-0 against Red Horse Biñan and only had to defend their lead for seven minutes of added time, during which the match between Gryphons and Altamarino ended in the aforementioned 1-1 score. Cauayan looked like they were on their way to winning only their second ever First Division title as well as making First Division history when their goalkeeper Mahmoud Hassan Shabbout made the (unwise in hindsight) division to move up the field for a Cauayan corner kick in an attempt to secure the title for the Bamboo Cutters. This decision would prove fatal to Cauayan's title hopes as Shabbout moving further up the pitch allowed Biñan to catch Cauayan on the counterattack and Josefino Peralta put the ball into an empty net to steal a point from underneath Cauayan's noses and give the 2025-26 Oontaznik First Division title to Gryphons Nubalochi.

Is this the end of the hegemony of the Malabon Black Ops in the Central Conference? It probably is. Especially when the defending champions Mereilles Port Boys swept them in their series. The Black Ops really is a different team without Leonidas Baxter. Speaking of Leo, his return to the FBA via the Riuwiee Presidents isn't as grand as he probably would've wished it could have been. Leo's Presidents may have won their first ever playoff game against Jazz Higgs' Uranium City Nukes, but the shock of the win probably got to them (but probably not Leo as he's probably used to the winning feeling) and the Presidents failed to win the next four games, meaning that their return to the FBA postseason was a short-lived one.

Here are the match-ups for the conference semifinals.

The MonStars just can't get a break, can they? They can never seem to advance further than the conference semifinals. This time though, they can't be accused of lack of trying. Real Haritzaga Baloncesto just have assembled a better squad than the MonStars have, and that was what made the difference. Meanwhile, Mereilles' title defense comes to an end after a grueling series against the Uranium City Nukes in which both teams went above and beyond the call of duty to secure a conference finals ticket, but in the end, Jazz Higgs and his boys just wanted that conference finals ticket more.

Here are the match-ups for the FBA Conference Finals.

Both conference finals were a tough slog, but in the end only two teams came through them relatively unscathed. The Wanda Island Wizards survived the challenge of the Uranium City Nukes, who are left waiting for their second ever FBA championship for at least one more season, while the Markovsky Red Army are back in the big time after surviving six games against Real Haritzaga Baloncesto. Considering that this may be Markovsky star Newton Isaacs' final season with the Red Army, perhaps winning one more championship would be the best way to cap off his career with the team from Mezaladbyi.
2025-26 FBA Finals
Once again, it all comes down to this. Two teams vying for ultimate supremacy over the Fleftic Basketball Association. The Markovsky Red Army have been there and done that five times in the last ten years already, while this is the Wanda Island Wizards' first ever appearance on the biggest stage of Fleftic basketball in twelve years, and they still haven't lifted the Agapito Benzon Trophy once yet. Will this finally be the Wizards' time, or will the Red Army overwhelm all opposition and become champions yet again? Let's find out.

Wanda Island Wizards 62–97 Markovsky Red Army

–57 Wanda Island Wizards
Markovsky Red Army 75–83 Wanda Island Wizards

–71 Wanda Island Wizards

Markovsky Red Army wins the 2026 FBA Finals 4-1

And it is none other than the veteran winners who will take home the Agapito Benzon Trophy. Experience does indeed trump youth in this instance, but having said that, the Wizards gave a very good accounting of themselves, and they will surely build upon this success in the hopes that they will finally go all the way and win the FBA Championship perhaps next season. Newton Isaacs will cap off his thirteen years with the Red Army with their sixth ever FBA Championship.

The match between Niraza Rovers and Arsenal de Releinthi in the third round of the 2025-26 SFA Cup will undoubtedly live long in the memories of both Niraza and Arsenal fans, for the right and wrong reasons respectively. It isn't everyday that Fleftic football fans get to watch such and such a 7-1 drubbing of a team, and when it just so happens that the team that had seven goals scored against them is also the team that has been Premier League champions for two seasons running, that's certainly a remember for millions upon millions of bad memories and future pub quiz trivia. Aside from that though, there isn't a lot of other giant-killings to report of in this round of the competition. Well, Rosenpfelblatz City did get smashed 3-1 away to Electric Yugal but that's not so embarrassing now, not after Arsenal got Mannschafted by an Unang Liga side.

Not a lot to report here, especially no giant-killings on the scale of Niraza 7-1 Arsenal. Well, there is the fact that Wanda Island Wanderers, Releinthi's main rivals, got blown out of the water by another Unang Liga side in Buscargill Town, but 5-2 is just not the same as 7-1. 5-2 gives a sense of the losing team still trying to keep themselves in the game but ultimately failing at the end, while 7-1 is just an utter humiliation no matter which way you look at it. It's unforgivable, plain and simple. Oh, and speaking of Niraza, they just survived yet another Premier League side's challenge by sweeping aside Admiral Porcusces 3-1. They might just be destined for something good and big.

2025-26 SFA Cup Fifth Round

Ludogorets Markovsky 1–1 Gyouza Young Lads (1–2 AET)
Niraza Rovers 1
–0 Buscargill Town
Sarvusdalamoive 4–0 Berezovsky United

The marquee match-up in the fifth round of the SFA Cup is undoubtedly Riuwiee United versus Sporting Ceneisis. And it's hard to say whether the matchup lived up to the hype or not because such an opinion is in effect subjective. By the scoreline, a one-goal Riuwiee victory doesn't really scream "exciting game!" especially since the Blue Tribesmen are the masters of the defensive masterclass. However, those who watched game highlights will undoubtedly point to the dozens of scoring chances and almost-mistakes as a sign that this was a game for the ages. No matter what the consensus may be, the fact remains that Riuwiee United booked a trip to the quarterfinals of the SFA Cup.

In other news, the two notable giant killers Niraza Rovers and Buscargill Town finally meet in the fifth round. And it is undoubtedly the more notable Niraza Rovers who came out winners in this match, also by a 1-0 scoreline. After the tons of goals that they scored against their Premier League, it's almost disappointing that all it took to settle their differences this time around was one goal. One goal. And a lot of teams seem to like settling for just one goal to net their victory and advance to the next round of the SFA Cup. It's a bit of an odd turn of events for sure but at least we don't have a lot of penalty shootouts anymore. And that can only be a good thing, right?

Niraza Rovers 1–0 Gyouza Young Lads
Xemlice Rovers 0–4 Atletico San Sebastian
Uranium City Radiation 0–1 Sarvusdalamoive
Riuwiee United 1

Niraza Rovers continue their seemingly inexorable march to the SFA Cup Final and a trip to the May 26 Stadium. Actually, make that a trip to the Monsanto Stadium in Releinthi because, with Riuwiee United winning over last season's winners Bananas FC, the May 26 Revolution Memorial Stadium can no longer be considered as a neutral stadium because it is the home stadium of one of the semifinalist sides. But that shouldn't be too much of a problem because Releinthi is just a short ten-minute ferry ride away from the capital.

Sarvusdalamoive 1–4 Atletico San Sebastian
Niraza Rovers 0–1 Riuwiee United

Niraza Rovers' journey ends with a 1-0 defeat at the hands of the capital club. The other team who will be returning to the Monsanto Stadium will be Atletico San Sebastian, who demolished the runners-up from two seasons ago in Sarvusdalamoive by a score of 4-1. Saints versus Blue Tribesmen; that is the 2026 SFA Cup Final. Who will come out on top? Only one way to find out.

Atletico San Sebastian 0–1 Riuwiee United

A single goal from Edison Joao secures victory for Riuwiee United over Atletico San Sebastian. For a team that haven't been really challenging for trophies since the start of Abanhfleft's UICA era, Riuwiee's defensive style has proven to be really successful in winning the oldest cup competition in the Democratic Republic. Riuwiee United may not have won the SFA Cup in their home stadium but they will certainly be carrying the tin idol back to the capital after seven years of waiting.

2025-26 Pridnestrovian Cup

Postby Trans-Dniesters » Sun Sep 02, 2018 2:19 am

NOTE 1: The 2024-25 Pridnestrovian Cup did not have a winner due to the military attack by ESTORVIPAN forces on Novorossiysk, Bender, and Tiraspol, forcing the cancellation of the tournament in remembrance of the victims of the attacks as well as the fallen Pridnestrovian defenders who dealt with the ESTORVIPAN threat and gave the ultimate sacrifice for the protection of their nation.

NOTE 2: Due to technological constraints, broadcasts of the Pridnestrovian Cup is limited to the first round proper and beyond.

There aren't a lot of upsets to report on in the first round of the latest edition of the Pridnestrovian Cup, but that isn't to say that there were no upsets at all. In fact, there are a few upsets to report on in here. Most notable among them is Sheriff Tiraspol's shock defeat on penalties against Top League side Universitate Vanatori. It probably doesn't help that this was in the middle of Sheriff's runs of good form in which they appeared capable of winning yet another Super League title, but alas. Their title challenge fell away soon after this defeat in the Pridnestrovian Cup so this defeat to Universitate may have played a part in Dinamo Bender lifting their first ever Super League title in seven seasons. Meanwhile, Submarin Yeralenko, an unheralded team that has nevertheless managed to stay in the Super League for quite a few years already now has been knocked out of the Pridnestrovian Cup by a State League side in Gobekli Tepespor, and Traktor Bender, finalists from the 2023-24 edition of the cup, have knocked out the 2012 winners Rotor Dnistrosh.

2025-26 Pridnestrovian Cup Second Round
SG 08 Chemie Mitwitz 2–1 Universitate Vanatori
Dnistro Dnistropavlovsk 0–4 Latakiaspor
Kesselburger Kickers
1–1 Torpedo Yeralenko (1–1 AET) (6–5 pen.)
Antakyaspor
1–1 Vorpommern Nyqvist (2–1 AET)
Jinarspor 1–3 Lokomotiv Novosverdlovsk
CSKA Tiraspol 1
–0 1895 Lekhwiya Pepuza
Exiles FK 2–2 Derinkuyuspor (2–2 AET) (4–2 pen.)
Admiral Novorossiysk 3
–2 Olimpia Strebsk
Amzaceaspor 1–1 Renechev Revolution (2–1 AET)
Traktor Bender 2
–1 Dinamo Macaresti
Zenit Vladiyug 3–0 Palatine Opals
Szigetszentmiklos 3–6 Union Rheinburg
Aviapromet Olimp 1
–0 Fortuna Novonikolaysk
Admiral Tuzla 1–3 Bierburger SV
Gobekli Tepespor 1–1 Spartak Tiraspol (1–2 AET)
Submarin Admiralnaya 0–1 Star City FC

Universitate's journey in the Pridnestrovian Cup didn't last very long this time around. They were knocked out by fellow Top League side SG 08 Chemie Mitwitz, while Hatay side Gobekli Tepespor saw their run also halted at the second round by a determined (if labored) display from Spartak Tiraspol. Two Super League sides in Vorpommern Nyqvist and Dinamo Macaresti also fell at this particular hurdle thanks to Antakyaspor and Traktor Bender respectively, thus opening the field for teams like Admiral Novorossiysk, CSKA Tiraspol, and Union Rheinburg to lay their hands on the Pridnestrovian Cup once again.

2025-26 Pridnestrovian Cup Third Round
Antakyaspor 1–0 Admiral Novorossiysk
Spartak Tiraspol 5–0 Traktor Bender
Union Rheinburg 0–1 Latakiaspor
Zenit Vladiyug 1
–0 CSKA Tiraspol
Kesselburger Kickers 6–0 Amzaceaspor
Lokomotiv Novosverdlovsk 3–1 Exiles FK
SG 08 Chemie Mitwitz 1–3 Bierburger SV
Star City FC 0–0 Aviapromet Olimp (0–1 AET)

Or maybe not. Two Top League sides in Antakyaspor and Zenit Vladiyug had seen it fit for them to put an end to the cup runs of Admiral Novorossiysk and CSKA Tiraspol respectively, while at least for Union Rheinburg, they will have to take comfort in the fact that it was another Super League side (albeit one not highly regarded like Latakiaspor) that knocked them out of the Cup. Not that it will really be any comfort for the Iron Union's fans though.

2025-26 Pridnestrovian Cup Quarterfinals
Kesselburger Kickers 4–0 Bierburger SV
Zenit Vladiyug 0–0 Antakyaspor (0–0 AET) (4–3 pen.)
Spartak Tiraspol 3
–1 Lokomotiv Novosverdlovsk
Latakiaspor 0–2 Aviapromet Olimp

Eight now become four. The two Top League teams that have managed to make it this far into the competition have now been drawn against each other, and only one of them could come out on top. That team turned out to be Zenit Vladiyug, who had to go all the way to penalties to knock out Antakyaspor but it was the only result that mattered in the end for Zenit. No more Super League teams remain after Latakiaspor were eliminated by Aviapromet Olimp, meaning that only three NPFL teams and a Top League team can win the Pridnestrovian Cup this time around. Who will it be?

2025-26 Pridnestrovian Cup Semifinals
Semifinal 1: Zenit Vladiyug vs Aviapromet Olimp

Leg 1 @ Konkordiya-Arena, Vladiyug, Yatuvilsk Socialist State
Zenit Vladiyug 1–0 Aviapromet Olimp

Leg 2 @ Aviapromet Sports Complex, Olimp, Ixanian Socialist State
Aviapromet Olimp 2–1 Zenit Vladiyug

Zenit Vladiyug advances to the Pridnestrovian Cup Final 2-2 on away goals

Now we know that we will have one Top League in the Pridnestrovian Cup Final for the third time running (if we ignore the cancelled 2024-25 edition of the tournament). Zenit Vladiyug held a very slim one-goal advantage in the first leg but then looked in danger of bowing out when their opponents Aviapromet Olimp scored two goals at their home in the second leg. But Kazimir Bardenko scored the decisive away goal in favor of Zenit to put them through to the final and a ticket to the New Army Stadium in Tiraspol.

Semifinal 2: Kesselburger Kickers vs Spartak Tiraspol
Leg 1 @ Rupprecht-Mathenia-Stadion, Kesselburg, Ixanian Socialist State
Kesselburger Kickers 4–0 Spartak Tiraspol

Leg 2 @ Spartak Arena, Tiraspol, Transnistrian Socialist State
Spartak Tiraspol 0–2 Kesselburger Kickers

Kesselburger Kickers advances to the Pridnestrovian Cup Final 6-0 on aggregate

It's a far different story for the Kesselburger Kickers, who just absolutely dominated Spartak Tiraspol to also punch their ticket to Tiraspol. Spartak Tiraspol were simply overwhelmed by their opposition, and hence it is the side from the Ixanian Socialist State who will contest the chance to lift the coveted Pridnestrovian Cup.

2025-26 Pridnestrovian Cup Final
@ New Army Stadium, Tiraspol, Transnistrian Socialist State
Kesselburger Kickers 0–0 Zenit Vladiyug (1–0 AET)

It took them 120 minutes of football but the Kesselburger Kickers have finally managed to lift the Pridnestrovian Cup for the third time in their history. Yuri Hessburg's 100th-minute strike sealed the deal for the Kickers, and while Zenit Vladiyug threw the kitchen sink and more at the Kesselburgers, their defense held up against the onslaught and so they proceeded to lift up the coveted Pridnestrovian Cup. Kesselburger Kickers will be Pridnestrovia's representative to the Cygnus Cup, although they will have to hope that they can keep up with the demands of both NPFL and international football. That's a trap that a lot of teams have fallen in through the years and it doesn't look like Kesselburger Kickers will be the one to buck that trend.

2026-27 Rugby Coalition

Postby APOC Coalition » Fri Oct 05, 2018 11:41 pm

This season is a momentous season for the Rugby Coalition as, for the first time in its short history, the league has finally adopted a playoff system similar to that used in both the Copperite Rugby League and the coalition-wide rugby league equivalent to the Rugby Coalition, the Coalition Rugby League. The playoff system will be similar to that used by the Copperite Rugby League, with the top eight teams qualifying for the playoffs. Teams ranked 1-4 will compete for a chance to receive a bye to the preliminary finals while the teams ranked 5-8 will have to fight for a spot in the semifinals where they will have to go against the losers of the qualifying finals if they wish to advance to the preliminary finals.

The introduction of the playoff system into the Rugby Coalition was approved by unanimous decision by all sixteen clubs in the league on June 10, 2026, coinciding with the announcement that the Rugby Coalition can now send three teams to the Rugby Union Champions' Trophy (RUCT). There have been rumors that the Rugby Coalition had been planning to implement the playoff system ever since its foundation in the 2021-22 season but have only been waiting until the league had accumulated enough ranking in the RUCT to be allowed to enter three teams before approving the introduction of the playoff system. But no matter the reasons for the introduction of the playoffs, it is here to stay, and because of that, there have been changes to the criteria that determine the Rugby Coalition's entrants to the RUCT starting from the 2026-27 season. For the purposes of record-keeping, all Rugby Coalition champions from before the implementation of the playoff system will have their championships credited as premierships.

The new criteria for the entrants to the RUCT are the following:
  • The winner of the Rugby Coalition playoffs (aka the premiers) will receive the first entrant slot for the RUCT
  • The losing finalist of the Rugby Coalition playoffs will receive the second entrant slot for the RUCT
  • The team ranked first in the regular season league table (aka the minor premiers) will receive the third entrant slot for the RUCT
  • In the even that the minor premiers qualify for the RUCT by virtue of being either the premiers or the losing finalist, the losing team in the preliminary finals with the best regular season record will receive the third entrant slot for the RUCT instead
With that out of the way, let us now get into the action of the Rugby Coalition.

The Oilers of Tikrit win the first ever minor premiership of the Rugby Coalition with a healthy 11-point lead over their closest rivals the San Seriffe Bad Hombres. All of the clubs that have won championships in the Rugby Coalition have managed to qualify for the first ever playoffs in the league's history, even the Haranguer Death Worms, who have been poor this season despite having won the Rugby Coalition only last season. In fact, the Death Worms only made it into the top eight by virtue of one more bonus point than the Jasvirabad Titans, who would not have looked that out of place in the playoffs this season and probably actually deserved to go there more than the Death Worms, but we are not here to talk about what could have been. At the wrong end of the table, the Manitogoro Madness have once again won the wooden spoon, with every other team in the league simply doing everything better than the Madness this season. Could this be the start of a new wooden spoon dynasty? The fans of Manitogoro certainly hope not.

Here is the first ever playoff series of the Rugby Coalition.

The Red Deg Red Bulls are the first ever premiers of the Rugby Coalition! All hail the rugby union club sponsored by an energy drink! The Red Bulls certainly had enough energy to outlast the Tikrit Oilers on a sweltering night in the middle of the Oontaznik desert, winning the premiership on a successful conversion from Pamboto Tezoke for Timofey Vardinenko's try and booking only their second trip to the RUCT. Since Tikrit is the losing finalist of the first ever Rugby Coalition Grand Final, the third RUCT spot will go to the losing preliminary finalist with the best regular season record, in this case the San Seriffe Bad Hombres.
