The Marine’s have landed! Well sort of, there are some almost 75,000 marines and naval personnel on two islands in Mokastana owned Vigilante del lago Islands once apart if the nation of Nicaro but after its collapse the nation of Mokastana took them over and now the Kingdom of Imbrinium now owns at least one island in an undisclosed purchase, along with that was a good section of land on the northern island for a naval air station able to house and handle naval long-range bombers and patrol aircraft.

It is known that the island of Porlamar is now owned by the crown kingdom and it is told that it will be the future home of the fourth fleet. This future home of the kingdom’s brave is one of the first large bases complexes built from scratch in some 30yrs.

This base will be built jointly by the military and civilian construction and local construction companies the construction is projected to last up to 10yrs and cost into the billions. The base on Porlamar will host the third Refueling and Overhaul (RCOH) site with the others being in the kingdom and the Philotas Islands.

“The Porlamar base will be the key to securing the west and far west operational areas and securing the region from pirates and slavers.” A top-level navy spokesperson stated in a press conference.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued stern warnings to the former colony of Eitoan and specifically the ruling administration that it is heading in a dangerous direction after the government had begun purges of ethnic Ralkovians in the Eitoan government. It has further called out the Shrdlu administration for it's anti-Ralkovian behavior and for putting the long, peaceful relationship between the two countries in flux.

"By cozying up to Ralkovian enemies, it makes it very clear that President Shrdlu cares little for the hundreds year-old relations the two countries have between each other. If Shrdlu has not forgotten our shared heritage already, then he should remember the story of Kraxus the Arrogant and the fate that befell him when he sought to betray his people for new friends," stated High Minister of Foreign Affairs, Oskar Skara last saturday at the christening of the Zolofan Armada, the newest Ralkovian fleet.

The Zolofan Armada, the newest Ralkovian fleet out of Krabolt Ship Yards, will be deployed to the Northern Vanguat Sea, between the Eitoan and the Timocratic Republic, sometime in August after a series of training exercises for the state-of-the-art equipment. Numbering five thousand warships and based on gifted Kravenite Ship Designs, the vessels will boast extreme anti-interdiction measures and new long-range capabilities, a strong answer to the increasing anti-Ralkovian activity within Greater Dienstad.

However, the christening event did not remain the focus for very long as the series of speakers and guests instead chose to give sharp rebuke to the invasive influence into the Ralkovian Far-West sphere of influence by the Golden Throne and other nations.

Eitoan, the former Ralkovian possession, was subjected to magnifying Imperial fire by the top brass of the Imperial Military as well.

High Admiral Valra Dezraki stated later on in the day, "that Eitoan should be well aware that it cannot aid Ralkovian enemies and expect Ralkovian business to flow through it at the same time. If Eitoan seeks to gamble for better benefits at the expense of old friends, than it will quickly find itself a puppet of the Golden Throne and that such a state of affairs would be intolerable in the Ralkovian far west."

Lord-General Miraton "Spotlight" Bradstok, the controversial commander famous for his victory in Kranstantinople and the Stoklomolvi-GWO war, was even more blunt with his criticism of the current Eitoan administration. Expressing his distaste for the President, he was quoted as stating, "the Eitoan people are being led by a madman that wants to position himself in the middle of a Macabean invasion of the far west continent, hoping to attain some sort of historical vengeance by Ralkovian containment or perhaps become a regional power-broker. This path will lead to ruin. There is no gold at the end of this rainbow."

Further still, in the same controversial fashion that earned him the nickname of "spotlight," Lord-General Bradstok turned his guns on the Imperial State Office, stating that "Ralkovia has grown too content with it's economic growth and has ignored it's regional leadership. No wonder we have found ourselves being threatened and betrayed at every corner."

The continued silence on the Eitoan purges by both the Imperial State Office and The Crown may prove Lord-General Bradstok's assessment correct.

First Polling For November Elections
President Eyes Gains in Ghastak
Leftward Trend in Dashez Leaves Free Democrats With Majority

With the party nomination process nearly complete, early polling shows the President’s Free Democrats improving their representation in the Ghastak (Upper House), and maintaining their majority in the Dashez (Lower House). No major changes at the national level are expected if trends hold up through the late November elections, although this could put the Free Democrats in the catbird seat in organization of the Ghastak, should they continue in coalition with the Socialists, or strike a deal with the conservative Civic Platform. Results are more fluid at the Territorial level, with 5 of the 8 incumbent Governors-General declining or prohibited from seeking re-election. Only two Territorial executive seats are showing as staying within the control of the incumbents’ party, both Free Democrats, and all incumbent candidates trailing opponents at this time. Poll results and analysis have been compiled by the News-Herald’s Opinion Polling and Analysis Department, covering the period from June 12th to 14th. Polling was conducted with a margin of error of ± 2.2% with 95% confidence interval. Current results are given below:

Ghastak: Centrists Gain at Expense of Left and Right
Polling for the 15 Members of the Ghastak in this year’s Minor Round shows the Free Democrats far ahead at 41%, followed by the Socialists at 24%, and the Civic Platform at 23%. The remainder is divided by the Communists scoring 7%, and the National Democrats at 5%. This would mark the eighth year the far right National Democrats failed to muster sufficient numbers at the national level to land one of their members in the Upper House. In this year’s polling a Communist showing at the 7% level would be sufficient to add a member to their roster, boosting their total in the Ghastak to 5 from 4. A strong showing by the President’s party would add two Ghastak members, making the Free Democrats the leading party. A Socialist showing at 24% would drop their Ghastak membership by 2, from 12 to 10, making them the second largest party, and turning them into a junior partner to the Free Democrats, should such a coalition be offered. Civic Platform would lose one member, going to 7. Barring a major catastrophe for Civic Platform, the Ghastak election this year will return Kenneth Haan, the recent former Vice-President to the Senate, where he would presumably take over as the face of the party through the next four years of President Shrdlu’s administration. The former Vice-President would be at home in the Ghastak, where he served before the Vice-Presidency, and was known as an efficient and competent shepherd for domestic legislation. Although regarded as colorless during his service under President Randall Ben-Joseph, as par for the course for Eitoan Vice-Presidents, most observers credited him with performing his duties well. With the passage of Civic Platform from the Presidency, Haan became one of the leading figures in guidance of the party early in the year, and is considered a moderate on most domestic and business issues. Given a possible slight move to the left as indicated in polling for the Lower House, Mr. Haan may be seen as better in tune with current voter sentiment, although it remains to be seen if he can carry through leadership of the party for the next four years.

Dashez: Free Democrats Hold Majority: Shift to the Left
Polling for the Lower House indicates the Free Democrats maintaining their majority, flanked by gains for both left parties and losses for both parties on the right. In the current analysis, the President’s party is poised to hold on to almost all of it’s seats, 219 of 409, down only one from the current tally. On the left, the Communists show a gain of one, from 18 to 19, and a large Socialist increase, from 92 To 103. Civic Platform would take a large loss, falling from 70 to 61, with the National Democrats losing two, going from 9 to 7. Breaking down the poll by region, the left scores surprising gains in the usually conservative Coastal Territories, the Socialists more than doubling their representation to 20 from the current 9, with a Communist breakthrough in 2 Coastal districts, giving them their first Members of the Dashez from the coast in 4 years. Support for the Free Democrats erodes to 22 from the current 24, and on the right the Civic Platform portion tumbles from 25 to 17. Surprise challenges in ethnic Ralkoviak districts on the coast are shown as halving representation for the right-wing National Democrats, from 6 seats to 3. The trend in the key, heavily populated Central Corrider districts shows little change from current Dashez representation. Here the left declines slightly: the Communists from 4 to 3 seats, the Socialists from 35 to 33 seats. Civic Platform loses two seats, currently held by long term incumbents thought to be near the end of their careers, declining to 27 from 29. The Free Democrats are showing with a gain of 4, from 116 to 120, and the National Democrats add one seat to their 2 from the Territories. Parties left and right gain at the expense of the Free Democrats in the usually left-leaning Frontier Territories, thought to be the results of local dissatisfaction with what is thought to be President Shrdlu’s inattentiveness to rural issues in the more remote areas. His party is shown to be leading in 33 districts, down sharply from the current 41. Frontier Communists would pick up an extra seat, going from 9 to 10, and Socialists would gain 4, to 29 from today’s 25. In this current Dashez, neither party on the right has any members. This would change given today’s polling: 2 Civic Platform and 1 National Democrat would be elected. Finally, in the independent minded Southern Territories, Shrdlu’s Free Democrats would make gains against all others, going from 39 to 44 seats, likely the result of economic benefits realized through GATA. Communists in the South would lose 1, going to 4 from 5, Socialists from 23 to 21, Civic Platform from 16 to 15, and the National Democrats would lose their sole seat in the Dashez.

Governors-General: Incumbents in Trouble.
No incumbents running for re-election appear to have the lead in their Territories at this time, and in some cases, the swing in the Territorial executive has taken unexpected turns. Macomb Territory appears to be poised to permit Free Democrat Attorney General Brad Clarke succeed his party’s Mark Gill. Less lucky are the Free Democrats in East Payson, where the incumbent Carey Boie appears behind Communist attorney Mark Farris. Dobrovice Territory looks better for the Free Democrats, with a likely success to capture the office from outgoing National Democrat Jeffrey Grace. Warren Territory looks good for retention in the Free Democrat column, with the retirement of Udom Magcarmaig. Communists are poised to lose the job, coughing up for retiring Governors-General in Stitary and Caldwell, to a Socialist and National Democrat respectively. Under current polling, the title would shift from right to left in Virden, the incumbent Civic Platform trailing the Communists, with the reverse in Leonore, where the incumbent Socialist is behind the Civic Platform standard bearer.

Ralkovian Imperial State Office Summons Ambassador:
Kransky Aims To Quell Imperial Concerns

The Ralkovian Imperial State Office has requested a meeting with the Eitoan Ambassador, Nathan Kransky, to air concerns regarding recent Shrdlu administration trade and security initiatives in the Northwest. Statements by Ralkovian High Minister of Foreign Affairs, Oskar Skara last Saturday at the christening of the Zolofan Armada and others have highlighted the Empire’s concerns regarding a change in direction by Eitoan toward greater regional integration, and military coordination with neighboring Relica. Ambassador Kransky, dean of the Eitoan foreign service will be meeting with Minister of the Crown David Lieberaman. In a statement put out by Ambassador Kransky through the Department of Foreign Affairs, the main points to be presented are:

• The recent agreements have no impact on Eitoan-Ralkovian trade. In fact, exports and imports have maintained their normal yearly growth since signature of both the Eitoan-Relica trade agreement and the mutual assistance agreement. No restrictions have been added to Ralkovian businesses in Eitoan since these agreements, and there is no pending legislation for any constraints on trade. There have been no delays in freight traffic, at airports, ports, or road or rail crossings for incoming or outgoing goods to Ralkovia, and no additional encumbrance on electronic commerce.
• There has and still exists a kinship between the Eitoan and Ralkovian people. Although only 6% or Eitoans consider themselves to be solely of Ralkovian ancestry (Ralkoviaks), fully 86% claim some ethnic tie to Ralkovians. The reforms in the intelligence and foreign service have resulted in very few officials losing their jobs, and no criminal prosecutions to this point. Dismissal of officials under suspicion reflects the ethnic makeup of Eitoan, and dismissal of Ralkoviaks under these reforms is not out of proportion to their population. Indeed, legal aspects of the reforms are under the oversight of Attorney General Dan Venkempen, a scion of a distinguished Ralkoviak family, including the last Imperial Treasurer for Berwyn.

Ambassador Kransky will confer with the Imperial State Office also in an effort to help the Imperial Government better understand some of the recent changes in Eitoan policy, namely:

• As a “self-made man” from the tech sector, President Shrdlu is younger and more results oriented than his predecessor, President Ben-Joseph. His emphasis is on concrete results, less on process, whether in foreign or domestic affairs.
• President Shrdlu must have complete confidence in the Eitoan intelligence and foreign service apparatus. Doubts as to the loyalty of those organizations would cause him to look elsewhere for corroboration. The reforms to ensure integrity should be seen as allowing the President to have confidence in dealings with all foreign powers. Absent those reforms, there would always be a shadow of doubt over provided information, which would tilt decisions against suspected foreign interference.
• Finally, there can be no doubt that the Northwest is an emerging region in it’s own right. The states of the Northwest continental littoral have benefitted from adoption of the most modern technology and financial and management techniques. This has become an ingrained factor in Eitoan business, and there is no valid substitute for it at this time.

TRIUMVIRATE FLEET DEPLOYS
TO NORTHWESTERN OCEAN




A joint Triumvirate fleet deploys to the open ocean
north of the Satrapy of Nicaro and west of the Timocratic Republic.

While recent events have shed some light on secretive imperial deployments and patrols in the west, His Imperial Majesty Fedor I's Imperial Bureaucracy and the Fuermak — the empire's armed forces — have preferred to remain tight-lipped about the exact distribution and deployment of forces across the region. Until now.

The Ralkovian government's tone in its recent response to events in Eitoan has served to strengthen the hardliner position within the independent governments of the Triumvirate. In a show of strength and unity, the Triumvirate is moving forces into the open northern oceans west to the Timocratic Republic. Although no allied government has confirmed the size of the military deployment, estimates vary between 3,000–7,000 ships. In conjunction with the announcement of the operation, Triumvirate governments have declared their intent to interdict the Ralkovian fleet by force should it attempt to sail east beyond a line that meets the edge of the western continent north of Eitoan. It has also reiterated its pledge to defend Eitoan in honor of a recently signed mutual defense agreement.

Also made clear was the respect the Triumvirate had for Eitoan neutrality, emphasizing its intent to defend the country rather than force it into a decision of loyalty. The careful approach toward Eitoan is made natural by the complexity of the country's internal forces. The stability of the Shrdlu presidency has been put into question and the Triumvirate will be looking to shore it up, rather than force a showdown when President Shrudlu may not be looking for one.

With Ralkovia, the time for care has clearly passed in the minds of the Triumvirate's leadership. There seems to be a consensus among member states that the time for diplomacy is coming close to an end and that the Ralkovian challenge is better removed sooner rather than later. As if to underscore this new reality, His Imperial Majesty's longtime spokesman, Kríerlord Daryl Novelle, clarified the Golden Throne's intent to completely bar the seas east of the new line of demarcation to Ralkovian warships and slave ships. In statements made to the press, Novelle said that the Golden Throne would "seek and destroy all Ralkovian military vessels, including logistics ships, between the 'red line' in the ocean and the Ralkovian military port[s] in the Ordenite Reich. We will respond to any provocation with absolute and overwhelming force. The Triumvirate is not intimidated by Ralkovia."

"And we will not allow the Ralkovian slave state to intimidate government of Greater Díenstad, especially our allies," said the kríerlord in a widely televised speech. "The Triumvirate pledges to make clear that if the Ralkovians want to prosper in this world they will need to play by international rules."

Triumvirate forces are strongest within central Greater Díenstadi, their core net being cast from the imperial Satrapy of Nicaro east to the Satrapy of New Empire. From Nicaro this extends south to Philotas, then east again to Indras, allowing the Triumvirate direct access to all the major shipping routes between western and eastern Greater Díenstad. To the far north, private military forces are funded to wage an ongoing naval war against slave shipping, including mercantile traffic. And to the far east, the Kríermada continues to have a strong presence between New Empire and military bases in Mokastana. Aerial traffic has seen a similar intensification, as well.

Little have we talked yet of the Imbrinumian, Stevidian, and Arcaenian navies. It is clear that this escalation against Ralkovia is a unified operation, solidifying Triumvirate power in the region's core and undoubtedly posing a significant challenge to Ralkovian sword rattling. The situation has become critical, with any small misstep very possibly leading to a very dangerous war.

"The Ralkovians must understand that, if they intend to fight a war in the Triumvirate's home court, they are fighting on the Triumvirate's terms," one military official told our investigators. "Our supply lines are well established here, we've put a lot of effort into that. Theirs are much more tenuous, and longer, easier to interdict and sever."

Confidence is high. Even the more cautious Novelle displayed uncharacteristic certainty, "No war is easy, but the Ralkovians will be made to know the costs of aggressing against the Triumvirate should they do so."

Novelle also announced an imperial diplomatic tour. His Imperial Majesty will travel to a series of international capitals to reassure world leaders of the Triumvirate's intent to reduce the risk of regional conflict by respecting, and defending, individual country's neutralities. That potential military allies will be felt for is also sure to be on the agenda, but the Golden Throne has shown steady intent to conserve regional stability as much as possible.

The empire has already been active in showing goodwill toward governments roughly aligned with Ralkovia. A representative of His Imperial Majesty, Kríerlord Abrot Jokasta, is set to travel to Agadesh. It is expected for him to reassert the Golden Throne's intention of respecting a previous agreement of neutrality with the Potthani imperial government.

One wonders how, then, the Imperial Bureaucracy reconciles its favor of stability with its support for an unconditional position against Ralkovia. To the Golden Throne, and the Triumvirate more widely, the Ralkovian presence is necessarily destabilizing. It stands in complete opposition to modern ethical standards of government behavior and neither is it felt that its government can be trusted. Barring Ralkovia from participating east of a limited, and direct, area of influence is seen as the only method that can preserve the ongoing attempt to restore prosperity in much of central Greater Díenstad.

Given the public name of Operation NEPTUNE'S GATES, the Triumvirate's deployment is a manifestation of these beliefs and an enforcement of what the alliance sees as a policy that protects commercial interests across the region. It's also a signal that its intent to enforce is serious and that Ralkovian aggression will be challenged directly.

Novelle did invite a representative of the Ralkovian state to Fedala but was clear in that the Triumvirate would not negotiate away the security of the region. The onus of peace, then, seems to be on Ralkovia.

RMN To Join Triumvirate Ops?

MOD:- With the recent announcement that the fleets of the Triumvirate powers commencing anti-slaver operations in north-western GD, PM Sir George Whittleton is said to be propose merging the RMN's own anti-slavery efforts with that of the Triumvirate.

The Royal Morridane Navy has been conducting anti-slavery operations, as part of its so-called 'Grey Patrol', for some time now. It would make sense for Commonwealth and Triumvirate efforts to be combined to avoid a duplication of efforts in addition to presenting a united front against slavery in Greater Dienstad. Sir George is known to be keen on, and has been pushing for, a multi-national task force to combat the scourge of slavers.

If the proposal is taken up by the Triumvirate powers, it would mean that the current stain on the navy's resources will be greatly reduced at a time when it is in the middle of a major modernisation programme. Of extra benefit to the Commonwealth, especially since a major ally in the form of the Holy Empire of Stevid is a Triumvirate member, would be the chance of operational training on the Stevidian vessels due to replace the current Morridane fleet. In return, the Triumvirate powers would be able to gain access to the Commonwealth's naval facilities in Mordent and extra ships.

Vectors announces Creation of
Task Force RedWater

After high level talks with the Commonwealth of Morrdh, the Republic of Vectors government had released a statement indicating that the Republic of Vectors has now established, formally, an anti-slaver navy task force that may include Morrdh ships alongside Vectorian ships. This Vectorian task force has been named RedWater and will operate heavily in the north western waters of Greater Dienstad, though is expected to make incursions south to the areas around the bay of chains.

Task Force RedWater has been established as a highly trained and battle ready group of one thousand warships and another five hundred miscellaneous support ships. When the Vectorian Minister of Defence was asked about RedWater, he refused to give any specifics, though answered that yes, the force had weapons of mass destruction at its disposal and included all facets of strategic warfare.

Furthermore, as more nations express support and commit forces to fulfill the same purpose, Vectorian officials have affirmed that is a multinational task force is created, Tas Force RedWater may be assigned as the Vectorian contribution. “If the Triumvirate, for example, puts together a like minded group, then we will happy pull our weight.” Ministry of Defence spokesperson Daniel Sanders commented

It has also been confirmed for the first time that extended range aerial patrols have been taking off from Vectors to provide long range surveillance of international waters and identify shipping. These aircraft patrols are accompanying the rumoured submarine patrols and satellite surveillance, along with the classified passive underwater listening surveillance that was confirmed as truth a few years ago.

ISENSTADT - Navy officials have confirmed that the Arcaenian Center Fleet, the largest of the Arcaenian Navy or Kaiserliche Marine's three current fleet groups, was in the process of deploying to western Diesntad as part of a larger joint Triumvirate force. This announcement comes after the Golden Throne, the founding member of the Triumverate, announced it would " "seek and destroy all Ralkovian military vessels, including logistics ships, between the 'red line' in the ocean and the Ralkovian military port[s] in the Ordenite Reich" earlier in the day. Dubbed Operation NEPTUNE'S GATES, the triumverate deployment is intended to represent a massive escalation of force against primarily Ralkovian fleets in the western part of the region, specifically the newly cristened 'Zolofan' fleet which Ralkovia has announced would be deployed to the Northern Vanguat Sea in response to perceived increasing anti-Ralkovian sentiment in the former Ralkovian colony of Eitoan.

"The Arcaenian Navy, along with its allies in the Golden Throne and Kingdom of Imbrinium, is fully committed to destroying the Ralkovian's Zolofan fleet and the rest of its naval presence in western Dienstad and permanently ending the Ralkovian regime's ability to project military power in the region" stated Admiral Paul Scheer, commander of the Kaiserliche Marine's Center Fleet in a press briefing at the Kaiserliche Marine's headquarters in Isenstadt. "Ralkovia has shown time and time again that it does not respect the sovereignty of free nations in the region and must be challenged directly if it's aggression and facilitation of slavery in the region is to come to an end", he continued, emphasizing that 'military force, not diplomacy, is the only viable way forward at this point'.

This announcement also comes amidst a massive Arcaenian naval buildup which regional defense analysts see as a move to establish itself as one the dominant naval powers of the region. This buildup is the result of the Arcaenian Volkstag passing of the the Naval Defense Act of 2028 which mandates a minimum 20% increase in the size of the Arcaenian Navy including at least several dozen more fleet carriers, several hundred more large surface combatants and nuclear submarine, and thousands of frigates and smaller support vessels to be built over the next several years. An increase in the size of the Arcaenian Navy was one of Chancellor Samuel Hayden's primary campaign platforms, amongst other defense spending increases promised by his conservative government. Construction of the Inflictor Class Supercarriers, the largest combat vessels ever built in an Arcaenian shipyard, has been dramatically stepped up alongside construction of the Hydra class nuclear cruise missiles submarines, the largest non-strategic missile submarines ever built for the Kaiserliche Marine.

A article by the Eitoan News Herald spoke of a regional order under the Golden Throne and what it meant to Eitoan which was voiced by their own Secretary of Foreign Affairs and a member of their National Democrat Party. The former voiced a positive outlook to this assumed hegemony that the Macabeans have crafted in Dienstad and how it benefited Eitoan. While the latter brought up what the other left out and questioned what such a hegemony would have in store for Eitoan, and if it was beneficial to it at all. Your thoughts?"

Hannibal Reichhold: "Dienstad as a region has seen it's fair share of hegemonic powers that maintained order and stability for all. Yes, The Golden Throne is one of them and what the region has become today can be contributed to the Macabeans. However, with all hegemony's there are faults and cracks that show. Not only is the Golden Throne facing the daunting task of juggling a span of territories in the region but also face a war of gargantuan proportions in Gholgoth. A billion men and women now toil away in a battlefield in foreign lands, in a region that is alien to us here in Dienstad. Countless millions are expected to perish in this conflict on both sides of the coin. This may be quite a feat to many but to the trained eye, this is the road to self-destruction. Peace must prevail over all."

Interviewer: "President Shrdlu is leading Eitoan and it's people into the Golden Throne camp and is set on following it's new master's steps to posturing against their former masters, Ralkovia."

Hannibal Reichhold: "The Ralkovian Empire had been an empire for centuries and can be credited to giving birth to what is now Eitoan. Their culture, their history, everything can be attributed to the Ralkovians. Trade is still very important between the two despite past differences when Eitoan achieved independence from Ralkovia. Slavery is the issue that is bringing much of the region together in a hosh posh of anti-Ralkovian sentiment. Yes their is truth in these arguments against Ralkovia and their institutions that enslave millions, their flawed monarchy that not only they follow but so do the Golden Throne. But that does not mean that Eitoan should abandon their roots and their heritage for the wealth that comes from capitalism."

Interviewer: "Recently the Golden Throne and it's allies in the Triumvirate have begun to move their respective navies to the seas of the Western continent. They plan to prevent Ralkovian ships from accessing anything outside of Ralkovian waters and the Bay of chains. This was done after the response made by the Ralkovians themselves to internal affairs inside Eitoan, more so their purges of officials they have deemed as working for foreign agencies. Your thoughts?"

Hannibal Reichhold: "I can understand why Ralkovia would be stand-offish with Eitoan. Their people have been alienated for years despite some of it being rightfully so for what their empire has done. Now the Central Dienstad clique as I call them or the Triumvirate is clamping down on them too. This is a reaction everyone should have seen coming, It is in the Triumvirate's nature to push and shove towards war. War benefits them and their banks and their countless corporations and businesses who are war profiteers. I can only hope that the situation cools down and that war is avoided in the West."

Northern Vanguat Uncertainty Impacts Marine Insurance Rates

Following a two day meeting between senior naval officers, insurers, shippers and Eitoan flag carriers, the Maritime and Riverine Commerce Section of the Department of Transportation announced reconfiguration of insurance requirements for cargos carried by the Eitoan commercial fleet. As the Northern Vanguat Sea, Eitoan’s maritime window on the world is seeing increasing military traffic in anticipation of the arrival of the Ralkovian Zolofan Armada in August, the conference has announced a 0.9% increase in general rates for Cargo Insurance as underwritten on the department’s General Cargo Categories. This excludes insurance of specific types of cargo, such as frozen food, frozen meat, and particular commodities such as bulk oil, coal, and petroleum products. The Department noted that further changes to Cargo Insurance for these categories, particularly petroleum products and liquefied natural gas may be forthcoming as the situation unfolds. In anticipation of higher oceanic shipping costs, additional shifts have been added to work on the planned capacity increase in the Trans Aurensia Propane Pipeline. The pipeline, a joint venture of the Aurensian banks and distributors, major Eitoan investment funds, and the four largest producers in Eitoan will provide a 15% increase in supply of Eitoan propane to customers in Aurensia and beyond to states in the northern Bay of Chains. As announced, the project deadline has been moved closer with completion expected in the next 6 months, shaving 3 months off the initial completion date.

The Department also announced surcharges for cargo on the basis of origin, destination, and length of traversal of four zones defined as follows:
• The “Shallow Zone”, west of the Red Line as defined by the Triumvirate, outside of Eitoan, Aurensian, and Relican territorial waters. Shipments in the “Shallow Zone” will not incur additional Cargo Insurance surcharges and are exempted from the 0.9% general increase.
• The “Wide Zone”, outside of territorial waters north of the mouth of the Bay of Chains to a line due east to the Red Line, bounded on the east by the Red Line. Shipments in the “Wide Zone” will require additional 0.2% increases in the general rate.
• The Bay of Chains. The existing 10% hazard surcharge remains in effect.
• Normal rates, including the 0.9% increase remain in effect in waters east of the Red Line.

There is speculation that the designation of the four zones presages redeployment of Eitoan naval assets in the near future. Admiral Harlan Stech, seinor officer at the conference had no comment on the issue as of this time.

Importers Hedge Bets

Leading importers are said to be seeking backup suppliers in the event of restrictions on Ralkovian exports to Eitoan. The Ralkovian Empire is currently Eitoan’s 4th largest trade partner, accounting for 6% of exports and 17% of imports. Hardest hit in the event of sanctions would be general commodities, including nonferrous metal ores, sand and gravel, and agricultural products, exclusive of dairy. These are viewed as the markets most prone to a reduction in imports, and Eitoan food processors and basic metal producers are actively seeking options both domestically and abroad. This in turn has caused an uptick in the futures markets, and is a source of some concern about incipient price-push inflation at the National Reserve Bank of Eitoan. There is also concern on the part of basic manufacturing importers, although in this case it is believed that any import shortfall could be covered by increases in domestic production. A spokesman for North Berwyn Screw and Bolt, a major distributor of fasteners told the News-Herald “Yeah, there may be slight delays in getting basic, non-specialty fasteners out to our customers, but our suppliers at home have sufficient capacity to make up for any loss from Ralkovia. Their processes aren't as automated as the more complex products, but given the low skill level needed for production, there shouldn't be any bottleneck in the supply chain.” Any resulting increase in production could further aggravate wage inflation, although to a lesser degree than the commodity impact, according to leading economists.

These changes are coming about at the same time foreign trade is undergoing closer scrutiny as the result of suspected flaws in the blockchain based sourcing that underlies much of the manufacturing, distribution, and transportation sector. Research has been increasing at the Joint Military Intelligence Service’s (JMIS) Blackmark facility on the feasibility of counterfeiting hash function results in variants of the most current CV-39 algorithm. Should such counterfeiting be proven possible for commercial systems, an additional layer of security may become required, particularly if the situation on the continent is not deescalated. The JMIS has also reached out to it's partners in the academic, software, and manufacturing sectors during the investigation of this possible security concern.

Overseas:
Talks Continue Amid Buildup in Northern Vanguat Sea

It is believed that talks are continuing with the Ralkovian Empire, though at lower levels, following the recent meeting between Ambassador Kransky, and Ralkovian Minister of the Crown David Lieberaman. The Department of Foreign Affairs has been tight lipped about any discussions, and there has been very little information about the results of the meeting from Foreign Affairs in Vladarsik, from the embassy, or from the Ralkovian foreign service. There has been no further comment from Ralkovia’s High Minister for Foreign Affairs, Oskar Skara, or his Eitoan counterpart, Randall Field. The expected launch of Ralkovia’s Zolofan Armada into the Northern Vanguat Sea has been met with the Triumvirate fleet’s Operation Neptune’s Gates, establishing a Red Line close to Eitoan waters. Possible naval involvement by the Royal Morridane Navy has been raised, and the nearby waters are also hosting Vectorian Task Force Red Water in response to the anticipated arrival of the Zolofan Armada.

The Navy has been mum on any preparation for the Zolofan Armada, but if the newly announced Marine Insurance zones are to correspond to deployment of forces, two carrier groups could be expected to perform intracoastal protection duties near the continent corresponding to the "Shallow" and "Wide" zones, with the bulk of the fleet remaining available for convoy or strike force usage.

It has been noted by observers close to Secretary Field that in his recent interview on the Ordenite Broadcasting Corporation, The Ordenite Reich’s Reichsleiter Hannibal Reichhold displayed a fairly solid understanding of the delicate situation on the continent leading to speculation that The Reich may be positioning itself as an intermediary between Eitoan and The Ralkovian Empire. At this time neither the Department of Foreign Affairs or the Ralkovian Ministry of Foreign Affairs have requested third party mediation of disagreements, and further discussions are believed to be ongoing through normal diplomatic channels.

Along the walls Special Protective Service men line the walls wearing suits that obviously conceal body armor and weapons. A podium stands at the front of the room against a backdrop of the Timocratic Republic's Flag. The podium is covered in black cloth.

President General Marai Overhill enters the room from the same side door as before and steps up to the podium.
"Good evening ladies and gentleman of the Republic and of Greater Dienstad as a whole. I am come before you now to speak of glad tiding. Yesterday at around 4 am local time a strike force composed of Force Recon Team Shiva attacked an outpost of the terrorist organization known as Homofront. The out post was located in the Ural Mountains, I was an overwhelming success. Over fifty terrorist were killed and three captured alive. I will now take a few questions.”

The reportes hands shoot up but they do not shout questions at the President General, they are more well mannered than that.


President Overhill selects one, a young man in a nice three peice suit.
“Madam President were there any casualties?”
“Only two of our men were injured.”

She selects another one an older distinguished looking female reporter.
“What will happen to the prisoners?”
“They will be dealt with according to our laws and customs but only after all usable information has been extracted from them.”
“Meaning?”
“Pending level of cooperation, they could just wind up in prison for the rest of there lives or be executed.”
The lady grunts in approval.

Election fever gripped the North Pacific a little earlier than expected this time around- a few weeks before the formal start of the election multiple candidacy announcements threads were made for Vice Delegate and Delegate by many future candidates, including Bootsie and Siwale for delegate. This practice drew some complaints from members of TNP's community, claiming it was subverting the process of democracy through citizens pledging their votes behind candidates before the election began and before they saw their platforms, giving the first people to announce their candidacy an advantage in votes. In light of this, Vice Delegate candidate Darcania archived their early announcement thread.

The candidacy declarations began at the start of May; for delegate six people were running- Vice Delegate Siwale, Minister of Culture Bootsie and Citizens Yuno, Bobberino, The South Falls and Mall.

Siwale - Siwale- the standing Vice Delegate- ran on an extensive campaign with goals set for each sector of government which totaled at approximately 4137 words and 25250 letters. This set out goals and promises for each sector of government, such as that the NPA would hopefully break the barrier of 40 troops deployed in an operation and that the Ministry of Communications would publish 4 TNL issues and four NBS broadcasts in the coming term. Siwale also promised to expand the Gameside Advocate program and increase TNP's presence on the world stage.

Bootsie - Bootsie has a storied history in TNP, and this wasn't the first time they'd run for delegate. They were most recently Minister of Culture under Gladio but also a former Vice Delegate and a standing Security Councillor. Their platform was shorter than Siwale's- 1749 words- focusing on Bootsie's ideals and hopes for the term on each of the Ministries as well as the Security Council. There were fewer concrete promises in Bootie's platform than Siwale's, but Bootsie promised increased activity in the NPA, making the Diplomatic Corps more active and engaged and to reestablish TNP as a world leader in cultural activities and community building.

Bobberino, The South Falls and Yuno - Bobberino, The South Falls and Yuno, the latter of which the delegate of the East Pacific, declared their candidacy for delegacy but didn't post a campaign thread or campaign through other methods to a noticeable extent.

Mall - Mall, as is tradition, ran for delegate on the basis of couping the region and calling in raider groups to support his rogue delegacy (excluding Nazis and the Dutch).

For Vice Delegate, Dinoium, Brendog, Darcania and Deropia ran.

Deropia - The standing Minister for World Assembly Affairs and an NPA officer, Deropia ran for Vice Delegate under goals and promises including capitalizing off the summer population boom to get all Security Council endorsements up to over 900, implementing another iteration of TNP for #1 (where TNP pushes for first place in regional WA endorsements) and processing all citizenship applications within 12 hours of their posting.

Brendog - Brendog was the Minister of Home Affairs and former Minister of Communications, having been in TNP since November 2016. They ran under similar goals as Deropia, such as organizing a reiteration of TNP for #1, processing citizenship applications within 8 hours, promoting the endorsement tool on TNP's forums to increase the endorsements in TNP and organizing themed weeks on the RMB.

Dinoium - A newcomer to TNP and NPA soldier, Dinoium ran an enthusiastic campaign for Vice Delegate, promoting himself as "A Humble Nation for the Job!".

Darcania - Darcania- TNP administrator and Speaker at the time- ran for Vice Delegate but dropped out of the race before voting had commenced. Darcania would later take a break from TNP, distancing himself from NS temporarily.

For Speaker, ABC ran and for Attorney General Goyanes ran. There was no competition for either of these positions.

ABC (Speaker) - ABC, otherwise known as TNP's resident duck, ran for speaker on the platform of continuing citizenship checks as they were, public polls on the future of the RA digests and promoting the Regional Assembly through dispatches and references.

Goyanes (Attorney General) - Goyanes had been elected as Attorney General in the previous term, and ran for reelection. No particular platform was posted, but it's logical to think that Goyanes' goals were more of the same, or what was promised in the previous election.

The voting period ended on May 11 2018 and the results came in shortly afterwards; for Delegate, Siwale was elected, with Bootsie taking in a surprising lack of votes compared to Siwale. For Vice Delegate, Deropia was elected. For Speaker and Attorney General, ABC and Goyanes were elected, as you'd probably expect. [hr]

The importance of participating in the elections for Delegate and Vice Delegate as a candidate and a voter are well known. Most people are well aware of the importance of our various ministers; their responsibilities and the standard to which they must be held. The question that needs to be answered is whether or not the Court's responsibilities are widely known and if the extent of the Court's power is well understood. Perhaps it is anecdotal evidence but consider this, in the recently closed election to fill a vacancy in the court, 66 votes were cast in total, 10 being abstentions. The sobering fact is that in the General Elections, 68 votes were cast for one candidate for the Delegacy alone. The title of this article is "Tu iudex eris" which is “You be the judge” in latin. This title was inspired by the sobering participation in our recent elections. Why latin you may ask. It is simply because it allows me to feel like a legal scholar, so please indulge my self confidence booster.

First we will enumerate the responsibilities of the court. Court officials are called on to be as close to experts as possible regarding the different legal documents enacted by The North Pacific. This would include the Constitution, Bill of Rights, Legal Codes, various procedures, and a host of different treaties negotiated with other regions. Why is this important? Well as anyone who has taken a gander around our legal archives would know, there's a lot to know. Many people simply do not have the time nor the willpower to read, dissect, and understand these documents. They do not have the knowledge to contemplate the context in which they were enacted. It is imperative however that candidates for Justice and Attorney General do put in the time and work to do this as it is vital for them to perform their duties. It is the Court's responsibility to protect the integrity of these documents and to give citizens a platform to challenge government overreach. By interpreting these documents and ruling on ambiguities in the law, it allows weaker legislation to remain flexible. And the legislation doesn't necessarily need to be weak for this to hold true. Legislation cannot account for all happenings and situations different than the ones contemplated when the bill was passed by the Regional Assembly. Once again, it is the Court that allows these pieces of legislation to be flexible and to have their ambiguities addressed. The Court's "Request for Review" function allows citizens to bring forward laws they feel to be unjust or unconstitutional, and to have the Court review the actions of Government officials in an effort to keep the Government accountable for their actions and overreach.

While this overview of the Court's responsibilities is quite brief, I urge the reader to consider further review and contemplation of the Court's responsibilities outlined in our legal documents. I can only hope that by encouraging this kind of research, we as a region will see greater voter participation in our judicial elections. The truth is that we as a region cannot afford to neglect these elections. The Court has major responsibilities and the power to set precedent that could prove influential for years to come. It is not enough to just vote for a candidate for Justice. Citizens must read and understand the candidates platforms and decide for yourself whether they are qualified for the position should they be elected. Citizens must believe that the officials they choose understand the gravity of the position and the significance of the laws they are responsible for interpreting and enforcing.

With this article, I call on those who haven't researched the topic already, to read up on our courts responsibilities. And when the time does come to elect our justices, we must remember the power we vest in our choice. And thus make the best choice for us.

I would like to note here at the end of my article that in no way was this article meant to be a commentary on the latest judicial election as this article was planned before the beginning of the election. In order to avoid possible influence on the voters in the election seeing as I was a candidate, I chose to delay the release of this article until the conclusion of the election. I am grateful for the opportunity extended to me but i will always call on our citizens to do their research and to make the best possible choice for them.[hr]

Activity in the Regional Assembly remained stable throughout May and hosted a few proposals that were brought to vote and many more that were discussed.

Election Commissioner Confirmations
Status: All Admitted
On May 21st, Delegate Siwale re-appointed themselves and Crushing Our Enemies to the Election Commission, after which debate on their admission began. Great debate ensued, dividing people on whether or not Siwale should be allowed to serve because of their status as Delegate. Deropia motioned for a vote which was seconded by Artemis and voting began on May 25th. Voting ended on the 28th and both were admitted. Crushing Our Enemies received 24 votes in favor of their appointment, none against, and 2 abstaining
Siwale received 22 voting in favor of them, 4 against, and 1 abstaining.

Vacancy Bill
Status: Passed
Back on March 9th, Darcania brought a proposal in front of the RA to remove the exemption of holders of government office from not logging in for two weeks during a leave of absence. Darcania motioned for a vote on April 4th, after which voting was supposed to begin on April 12th, but it never did. A month later, a second motion to vote, happened soon after which a vote did begin. Voting on the bill began on the 17th and was passed on the 21st with 30 voting Aye, 2 voting Nay, and 1 abstaining.

A Motion to Establish a New Line of Succession
Status: Passed
In Late April, Vice Delegate Siwale, proposed to the Regional Assembly a new Order of Succession. After a motion to vote was brought by Wonderess and seconded by Isimud, voting began on May 2nd. The motion was passed with 25 voting Aye, 3 voting Nay, and 12 abstaining.[hr]

Resolution at Vote: Agricultural Invasive Species Act
IFV Recommendation:
The Agricultural Invasive Species Act is a well meaning, however inherently flawed proposal. This proposal seeks to prevent the harm caused by the accidental introduction of non-native species into the environment.
However, the Ministry would note that the proposal makes no provision for goods that are contaminated in transit, mandating that fines be imposed even though were previously uncontaminated. Furthering this concern is the fact that the resolution makes no indication of who should be fined.
For these reasons, the Ministry of World Assembly Affairs recommends a vote against the resolution.

Resolution at Vote: Freedom of Religion
IFV Recommendation:
The current proposal is an earnest attempt at securing religious rights and freedoms for citizens of WA member nations who may otherwise be forced to worship or not worship specific deities. The proposal allows member nations freedom over the specific criminalization of acts that may threaten the safety, health, or good order when brought upon by religion or persecution thereof. It is important to mention that this proposal protects the rights of citizens to legally practice religion in groups and fear no repercussions as well as the right of citizens to refuse specific religious practices that may have formerly been prescribed by the member nation. Should future application of this resolution be abused, the ministry will seek a repeal and replacement for the abused piece of legislation.
In accordance with the aforementioned reasons, the Ministry of World Assembly Affairs recommends a vote For this proposal.

The proposed condemnation of The Communist Bloc is a poorly written and fairly biased attempt at ideological revenge. The proposal does not substantiate its various presented arguments, but rather presents statements with what can reasonably be assessed as a confirmation bias. While we do not condone any malicious or anti-democratic acts by any region within the greater NS community, the content of this condemnation does not stand on its own to justify its passing.
Due to the reasons stated above, the Ministry of WA Affairs recommends a vote Against this condemnation.

Resolution at Vote: Liberate The Conservative Christians
IFV Recommendation:
Upon recent events, the natives have brokered peace with the invading faction and have begun the rebuilding process of the region. As quoted from the regional world factbook entry, "This region is in the process of rebuilding and as such is implementing password protection. If you wish to join or are a previous member, send me a message and I'll get back to you as soon as possible." The current leader of the region may institute a password to temporarily prevent raids until more natives return to provide better security for the region. Due to these happenings, the current liberation at vote is now no longer needed.
Not wanting to hinder the rebuilding process of the region and for reasons stated above, the Ministry of World Assembly Affairs recommends a vote Against this liberation.

IFV Recommendation:
The proposed condemnation of The Communist Bloc is a poorly written and fairly biased attempt at ideological revenge. The proposal does not substantiate its various presented arguments, but rather presents statements with what can reasonably be assessed as a confirmation bias. While we do not condone any malicious or anti-democratic acts by any region within the greater NS community, the content of this condemnation does not stand on its own to justify its passing.

Resolution at Vote: Commend Knootoss
IFV Recommendation:
The current Security Council resolution-at-vote seeks to commend Knootoss for their numerous accomplishments in the General Assembly, furthering democracy and human rights the world over. Their contributions to international law include the "Read the Resolution Act", a resolution that requires that every WA member state have an office staffed by a literate, sapient individual to review proposals before voting on the proposal and "Right to Petition" which enshrined the right to petition governments without fear or reprisal into international law.
The Ministry, having reviewed the resolutions authored by the delegation from Knootoss believes them worthy of commendation by the Security Council.
For these reasons, the Ministry of World Assembly Affairs recommends a vote for the resolution.[hr]

May marked the first month of a new term for both TNP and the NPA. As the election results were announced, former Minister Malphe handed over Command of the North Pacific Army to Captain Zazumo. Now Minister Zazumo came into the office with the goals of maintaining the incredible level of activity seen from the Special Forces last term, and increasing the activity of the Auxiliary Force. Zazumo's opening address can be found here. Following the precedent set by Malphe, Zazumo also appointed two deputies. The deputies aid the minister in both administrative tasks, and in leading and organizing operations. With the formalities wrapped up, the NPA jumped back into it performing detags throughout the entire month. Late in the month, TNP ally Stargate was raided in a bizarre turn of events that led to the raider being brought low by the Voice of Mod. The NPA moved into the region following this and assisted in the re-establishment of Stargate's elected delegate.

Holy Empire Moves to Reassure Eitoan
Royal Navy deploys 8th Fleet to support Triumvirate activities

The Imperial Ministry of Defence has today confirmed rumours that ‘elements of the Royal Navy’s 8th Fleet are deployed from HMNB Vulcan’, in Valvidia in western Greater Dienstad, ‘to support allied Triumvirate activities in the western seas of Greater Dienstad. The declaration comes during the current anti-Ralkovian sentiments within the nation of Eitoan and a polarisation towards the Golden Throne of the Macabees and the Triumvirate alliance.

Over the past week there has been in an increase in naval activity from the Golden Throne, Imbrinium, Vectors and amicable overtures from Morrdh in regards to the Triumvirates solidarity towards Eitoan neutrality concerning the standards between Ralkovia, UWO and the central powers of Greater Dienstad.

In an official statement, the Imperial Ministry of Defence made the following announcement:
“In line with this country’s international commitments to regional peace and stability, and in line with its obligations to its regional allies, the Holy Empire will be deploying elements of the 8th Fleet of the Royal Navy to supplement the political and military power of our allies’ military assets in the west of the region, so as to combat the belligerence of both Ralkovia and the United World Order.”

The 8th Fleet was rebased in its entirety to HMNB Vulcan, the largest naval base in Greater Dienstad and likely to be the most militarised location outside of Lyras, a few months ago. Numbering almost 3,000 ships including support assets, the 8th is Stevid’s largest military asset in western Greater Dienstad with the port able to accommodate the naval fleets of all participating Triumvirate members.

Official numbers are unknown, but it has been confirmed via foreign press releases that no fewer than three nations are deploying naval assets as a show of unity, and that now the Imperial Ministry of Defence is confirming that the Holy Empire is joining the ad-hoc alliance of nations that form the Triumvirate.

The leader of the political opposition in Stevid has demanded the government be more cautious and has quietly insinuated he is against the large deployment by stating, “Gunboat diplomacy didn’t work with Imbrinium, it didn’t work with UWO, it won’t work against Ralkovia.”

But a spokesperson for the government at Parliament countered this argument when posed the question on television by an ICBN reporter, “Stevid still ranks as one of the biggest, if not the biggest, naval power in Greater Dienstad – certainly in Central and Western Greater Dienstad. This time is different to the last regional war and the conflict in former RSU – this is a multinational show of unity led by likeminded nations. The Empire simply cannot sit on the side lines on this issue.”

It is likely that 8th Fleet with rendezvous with allied fleets within the next few days.

Analysis: What is the Eitoan Crisis?

This all started in a recent political thesis on the current geo-political situation in Greater Dienstad, which the Eitoan press called ‘Pax-Macabeanus’. Two conflicting arguments were presented but the political biases seem to suggest that the fact it was being talked about in the first place seemed to reveal the validity in the argument that a resurgent Golden Throne does, in fact, hold the martial, political and economic prowess over the rest of the region.

Heated discussions in a multitude of forums across Stevid have deliberated on this, also with mixed results. But these too have been identified, within the actual discussions, there is underlying bias towards not agreeing with ascertains that a Pax-Macabeanus even exists. This is born out of an underlying distrust of the Golden Throne within the nation psyche, which has developed over the past decade because of tensions and animosity between the two Empire before coming to amicable terms only recently. The distrust and resentment lingers, and it will persist for some time yet, but it should not detract from the points highlighted in the Eitoan press that the Golden Throne is the current ‘black-hole’ of power in the region that most other nations gravitate around.

The pull on Stevid is less significant than on other nations but it exists nonetheless; made all the more obvious a few years ago when the Empire ceded East Guffingford in exchange for Certsia Island and unprecedented access to the Golden Thrones financial sector – which probably saved the Empire following the Greater Dienstadi War.

However the effects of Eitoan position on this are quite clear as posturing between Triumvirate nations against UWO intensified further after the war in Kashubia/Former-RSU, as seen with joint naval war-games in the Sea of Crowns between Imbrinium, The Holy Empire and the Golden Throne. Said war-games were supposed to drill the three-nation alliance in anti-Ralkovia slaving and interstate naval warfare. Eitoan has officially declared it neutrality in any up coming conflict regarding Ralkovia and the Triumvirate but has serious anti-Ralk sentiments as recently reported in the Ralkovia press. The recent removal of officials and some civilians was touted in the Eitoan press as ridding the nation of spies whilst the Ralkovia government said it was a cover-up for actual ethnic purges.

None of that can be officially verified at this stage.

As if completely accepting the very notion of a Pax-Macabeanus Greater Dienstad, Eitoan signed a MDP with the Golden Throne and Triumvirate in lieu of Ralkovian naval exercises, which is believed to be gunboat diplomacy posturing by the Triumvirate. In response the Golden Throne threw down the red line to the Ralkovian navy and government that should their forces cross the latitude between that meets the edge of the western continent north of Eitoan then they would be interdicted.

Whilst both sides state that neither is strictly supporting the other, it is clear that Eitoan is gravitating towards a closer relationship with the Golden Throne; and the fact that Imbrinium, Vectors and Stevid have answer the banner call for the Triumvirate, it is clear that perhaps the idea that a Pax-Macabeanus in Greater Dienstad may have some truth in it – at least while the giant Lyras sleeps.

Third Regional War in 24 months?

Much of Stevidian South Greal is in ruins, including its economy

The 8th Fleet deployment signals clear intent that the Holy Empire is concerned with the politics and military posturing of Ralkovia. The government has continually brought this up in several recent parliamentary sessions, before the Triumvirate naval deployment.

It is understood that official low-level diplomatic talks are on going between Eitoan officials and their counterparts from Ralkovia without any third-party mediation. The outcomes of these talks will probably dictate what will happen in the coming months, including a possible war.

The naval deployment from the Holy Empire is the second such deployment since the Greater Dienstadi War, which cost hundreds of millions of lives. More recently was the war in Kashubia, or former-RSU, where hundreds of thousands were killed. In both instances there were nuclear exchanges from some of the largest nations in the region. The level of conflict current in Greater Dienstad is unprecedented, not seen since the Second War of Golden Succession when half a dozen nations were involved in several other conflicts in the region, and outside of it, simultaneously. The relative peace that followed is now almost forgotten.

It will be the third major conflict in 24-months that the Holy Empire has participated in should war break out. This is likely to affect the national economy significantly, and potentially those of other Imperial nations. Stevid has adopted a state ‘War Economy’ since the Dukopolius conflict in New Empire several years ago. Since that point the region has been in a state of perpetual war that has significantly involved the country in someway that it has not been possible to step down from this war footing. The Treasury has implemented varies policies over the years and coined the phrase “Semi War Economy” during it’s previous budgets. A state of Semi War Economy exists to this day and is evident in Stevid, Liberated America, and Stevidian South Greal.

During the Greater Dienstadi war the Stevidian economy almost completely collapsed following the end of hostilities. The repair to South Greal’s infrastructure and the rebuilding of the nation’s battered military sent it into a deep depression saved only by sweeping changes that included heavy austerity policies, internal Imperial trade and support from Adaptus Astrates, and other foreign investment most notably from Lamoni, Macabees and Mokastanna.

Many economists and backbencher politicians believe that if another major war does break out the Stevidian economy will suffer immeasurably, a belief mirrored in the city’s Capita Stock Exchange, which closed on Friday down almost 70-points.

Mokan Allies New Base/align]

The island of Jekyll off the coast of the mainland has been home to many things over the years and now it will be home to something new. In a rare and unprecedented move, the first foreign base that will be allowed to open on Merican homeland will be one for the far eastern allies, the Peoples United Federation of Mokanstana. Never before has the Federal Government willingly allowed a foreign power to open a major military installation on its home soil.
The base will be located in Terror Bay, the easternmost bay on Jeykll Island. The base will be large, capable of hosting between 20,000 to 40,000. It will mainly be a logistical and supply base for naval forces but also capable of hosting a fleet of 90 combat ships pus supply vessels. The base will host a large airfield with 3 runways. The base is being built on the location of the Terror Bay Naval Station located at the very bottom of the bay itself.

The move has been roundly praised by multiple people in the government. The Secretary of State Shannon Meek said "This is a wonderous and incredible move that will bring our nations closer together. " Others had a more militaristic mindset like General Mattias Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and Marine Assault Corp Commandant "This move is both smart and strategic we have enemies nearby that would love to strike at us, now we are moving to give them pause to reconsider this unwise action."

Lamonian Government announces first step of helping to rebuild Stevidian South Greal

While Lamonian Foreign Minister Tanya Ley continues negotiations with the Stevidian ambassador to the Free Republic, President Stinson called a news conference today at the Presidential Palace, where he declared that not only would the Government of the Free Republic help the Holy Empire of Stevid to rebuild Stevidian South Greal, but that the first step in the process had already begun. As our readers might remember, Stevidian South Greal was effectively decimated by forces from multiple Greater Dienstadi nations, including Wanderjar, and Imbrinium, while Lyran Naval forces destroyed an entire Stevidian Splinter fleet. While some rebuilding and economic recovery has taken place in Stevidian South Greal since the cessation of hostilities, the rebuilding has taken a very significant proportion of the Holy Empire's economy, having effects all the way down to decreasing the number of times that the Holy Empire's Navy goes on deployment.

One of the most significant imports of the Holy Empire is food, which is delivered to Stevid in vast quantities. Thus, the Lamonian Government has taken the unusual step of purchasing a large number of ships for Stevidian use from Maritime Imperial, of Maltropia. Maritime Imperial also maintains shipyards in the Free Republic, so it is likely that Lamonian workers will be involved in building a number of these sea-going vessels. Thus, a large number of the ships purchased by the Lamonian Government are fishing vessels, which should have the effect of reducing the amount of food imports that the Holy Empire of Stevid would require, as well as providing jobs for the unemployed in Stevidian South Greal in both the fishing industry, as well as the shipping industry.

In all, the Lamonian Government has purchased the following ships for our friends in Stevid:

* 4,000x Sejanus-class container ship
* 5,000x Mucianus-class supertanker
* 2,000x Agrippa-class harbour tug
* 10,000x Osprey-class deep-sea trawler
* 2,000x Pelican-class factory stern trawler
* 2,000x Thebes-class whaler

President Stinson also stated that step two in Lamonian assistance to Stevidian South Greal would involve repairing seaports, and the cities that they are part of. As a means of getting more, larger, and heavier equipment, including construction equipment, into the territory, this would be a logical step. However, the President stressed that step two, and any further steps beyond that, would not begin until permission had been obtained from the Stevidian Government. Private charities however, would be permitted to raise funds for the ongoing reconstruction, so long as they obeyed both Lamonian and Stevidian laws on the subject.

As for why the Lamonian Government is has only now announced their intent to help with the reconstruction of the Stevidian territory, President Stinson explained that it would take time to build so many ships, as well as getting general agreement from Lamonian industry leaders toward helping out the affected populations, many of which are still living in the equivalent of refugee camps. While we do not currently know what future steps might be worked out between the two Governments, it is known that Lamonian residential construction companies have been training more employees than they have a need for within the confines of the Free Republic itself. With the current moves by the Lamonian Government, it could be speculated that these extra construction workers might be dispatched to Stevidian South Greal, with the objective of building housing for the displaced people there. It is known that with modern 3D Printing Technology, small homes can be constructed in under 24-hours, for under four thousand standard dollars apiece, with the houses mostly being constructed out of concrete and mortar, but with other materials used as required by both architectural good taste, as well as local building codes.

It is a given that helping to rebuild Stevidian South Greal will likely result in a grateful populace, and that it will further improve relations between the Free Republic and the Holy Empire, creating further jobs both in Lamoni, as well as in Stevidian South Greal. What might be less well understood however, is that the Lamonian move will also free up Stevidian funds that could be used to allow for more Stevidian naval patrols against UWO and Ralkovia, in conjunction with the other members of the Triumvirate. The anti-slaver ship patrols also help to reduce the number of slaves that can be either imported or exported, especially in the case of Ralkovia, who is known to use a massive number of slaves in almost every non-authoritative walk of daily life. The move will also further disrupt the business of the Scandinvan slave markets to a lesser degree, even as the military forces of The Golden Throne wage war against them.

Local Militia in Aqua Anu goes rouge, killing hundreds in massacre

Yesterday evening, rough members of the Followers of Tenshu, a Registered Private Militia in Aqua Anu, launched an amphibious attack against Moguni Island, home to six million people, two million of which are of the Neko species. While death tolls on Moguni Island are still being determined, Federal authorities believe that the number of civilians killed to be in the hundreds. At least one village is believed to have been wiped out, with only a few survivors found who took shelter in a Marshite Shrine bunker. Parts of city of Minamoguni, including the docks and tourist district, are believed to have been destroyed before the Federal Army and local militia forces could repel the attack. Early efforts to stop the attack were made by Neko and Marshite Militias, who managed to hold key parts of the city to ensure a rapid response by the Federal military.

Within an hour of the attack, Federal authorities issued a temporary order to seize all military assets from the Followers of Tenshu Militia on the Island Chain of Nipon. While many surrendered their arms peacefully to Federal Forces, reports of armed conflict between the Followers of Tenshu and Federal Forces continued into the morning. With some reports claiming up to 26 of the 44 armories seized in the night actively resisting. At least one case of Federal Forces calling in an artillery strike on an armory can be confirmed. It is believed that many leading commanders from the Followers of Tenshu Militia have been taken into Federal custody as of last night.

In addition, there are numerous reports of conflicts between Marshite Militias and what they claim were Followers of Tenshu Militia sleeper cells. Such events are being investigated by Federal authorities.

As of this morning, the Army Reserve and the Reserve Guard units of the Nipon Island chain, and other nearby island chains, are being called into Active Service. In addition, Federal army units from Wellovia and Mokastana are being deployed to the Nipon Island Chain, and surrounding islands.

The Nipon Island chain home to nearly 32 million people, with the vast majority claiming to be Kogyokist Christians. The Followers of Tenshu Militia, claims to be a Kogyokist Militia, and it is the largest Registered Private Militia on the Island chain, making the concerns for a long term peaceful solution very real and difficult. MACABÉAN ADVISORY MISSION
TO ESCALATE PRESENCE IN BARJAANISTAN



The single battalion of Morridane régulies is set to grow,
with another 50,000 soldiers deployed to the far western democracy.

Small advisory missions are bound to grow, experience tells. It is no different in Barjaanistan, where continued fighting between a small regiment-sized contingent of Macabéan troops and eastern insurgents has prompted the Golden Throne to reinforce its mission. In a series of diplomatic meetings, the Golden Throne has gotten the approval from both the Barjaani and Potthani governments to deploy another 50,000 men to the far western democracy. Furthermore, southern Potthani airspace had been opened to imperial warplanes seeking to fly to bases in Barjaanistan as well as carrier-based aircraft providing close air support to ground forces. This marks a substantial escalation and one that the Golden Throne had intended to avoid early on, but which is now seen as a necessity after the Battle of Jujann.

The battle, which began as an ambush of a platoon-sized escort of Macabéan diplomat Lato Viversa, forced a reconsideration of the Macabéan position in Barjaanistan. Fearing that public discontent with the death of three Morridane régulies recruits would force a dramatic escalation of the conflict, the Imperial Bureaucracy is said to have opened up talks with the two countries in an effort to pre-empt public opinion and present a more adequate solution.

According to military sources, Harka 'Berach X' has already begun deployment to Barjaanistan. Its 5,000 or so Amastolian personnel have been flown into the country, although the brigade's heavy equipment will be slower to arrive. Along with 'Berach X,' the increased deployment will also include the Doomani Harka 'Invictus I', the Nicaroan Terch 'Rey del Manzanar,' as well as the newly organized Terch 'Ogre's Blade' composed of New Imperial recruits. It is telling that all forces continue to be foreign recruits, part of a growing force of régulies that have become the preferred tool for these sort of low-intensity, low-publicity conflict that the empire commits itself to. Although His Imperial Majesty Fedor I vetoed the recent attempt by the Senate and Congress of Kingdoms to limit the use of native-born forces in future conflicts, that the ground forces deployed to Barjaanistan remain almost exclusively foreign recruits speaks to a political tension that the emperor is clearly tip-toeing around. It may also mean that the Macabéan emperor is looking to reduce media exposure of the war, although continued battles and the casualties they bring will sure undermine these efforts.

Whatever the motivations for the use of the régulies, these forces will bring an additional 50,000 men to the far western theater. In conjunction, the Laerihans will move roughly 76 GLI-76 multi-role fighters and 48 GLI-23 ground attack aircraft into Barjaanistan. With few assets of their own, the Barjaani air force was found incapable of providing ambushed Macabéan forces with the air support they needed to avoid a larger battle in Jujann. The Golden Throne seeks to avoid similar situations in the future, for both itself and the Barjaani army, by bringing in their own assets.

Perhaps most surprising is the announcement of the intention to use carrier-based aircraft to supplement the locally-based fighters. The only access to Barjaanistan remains through southern Potthan, meaning the use of carrier-based forces required Potthani approval. In a meeting between Potthani emperor Havok and Kríerlord Ambrot Jokasta, the use of Potthani air space was authorized, marking a new milestone in a traditionally rocky relationship between the Golden Throne and the western slave state. Whether the Ralkovian garrison in northern Potthan was also discussed is unknown, both parties have remained tight-lipped over the exact details of the talk.

One detail that is known is that imperial forces will not be used to occupy or police government-controlled towns and cities in eastern Barjaanistan. Both governments agreed that this job was better done by the Barjaani army. Macabéan forces will perform a purely advisory and combat role, helping to clear heavily defended areas before being relieved by national Barjaani forces.

It's hoped that this policy will help to foster a sense of Barjaani community and avoid any semblance to an occupation. The Fuermak, or imperial armed forces, are adapting techniques and lessons learned in the continued 'long wars' in Zarbia, Indras, and elsewhere, making the primary objection a restoration of Barjaani political and legal institutions in the eastern and southern halves of the country. Although all parties know that the road ahead will be tough, in this fashion "the Barjaani people will come to trust the army and other local authorities to provide them with the security they need to live a normal life. They must lose their reliance on alternative security and arbitration services, like any provided by the Syndicate, if we are to defeat the insurgents," as one Barjaani commander put it. How long the Macabéan advisory mission will remain in Barjaanistan is unknown. The current régulies contingent are scheduled to remain in theater for two years, but whether they will be relieved by comparable forces or whether this marks the extent of the mission has not been said. It is likely that a Macabéan garrison will remain in Barjaanistan for the foreseeable future, but it is also known that the Golden Throne has been pouring military and financial aid into the far western democracy in an effort to re-equip and re-train its military forces. The Barjaani army has shown a lack of acuity in combat and the Macabéans are hoping to reverse the situation so that the Barjaani military can at some point take over major combat operations.

It will be a long road. If the Battle of Jujann proved something it was that the eastern militants are willing, and perhaps even hungry, to fight. It also showed they are more than capable of exacting a blood price, as the three Macabéan deaths so far in the campaign go to show. Yet, as the destruction of the village signals, the Macabéans are also very willing to exact a price of their own. The three dead Morridanes were accompanied by hundreds of insurgent civilian bodies, and Jujann's civilian population paid a heavy toll as well. Although the Golden Throne will be seeking to avoid uncontrolled confrontations like Jujann again, war has always been a mischievious thing.

Earthquakes in Amaterasu

SONOMI - A series of moderate inland earthquakes ranging from 4.9-5.6Mw struck in the early pre-dawn hours around the Domain, at about 6:45 AM local time, including in the Domain Capital City of Sonomi. No injuries were reported and damage is expected to be moderate to well built structures and houses. Several small rural villages have checked and have reported the Lady Amaterasu Daidouji informed INB that she has been in close contact with local mayors and the Royal Geological Society to remain informed about the situations. The RGS has been motioning the seismic activity very closely and has been surveying areas to narrow the epicenter. The RGS says while aftershocks are a possibility there is at present no concerns regarding a much larger quake or tsunami possibility. Dr. Shoko Fujimiya stated to INB, "We are confident it's an inland quake deep in the mountains at this time. We advise citizens to please be careful and go over their earthquake preparedness." The RGS has also stated at present they do not feel there is any immediate seismic risk to neighboring Hang Gang.

The quake provided a rude awakening to sleeping citizens or freshly woke citizens including those tuned into local news programs as studios felt the shaking while on air. A war no one in Germania or in all of Dienstad would ever forget. SS Unterscharfuhrer Karl Stanze is with us now to conduct the interview, Herr Stanze I thank you once again for your continued outstanding service in the Wehrmacht, It is a honor to have you here today."

Karl Stanze: "I am excited to be here and appreciate your support. I do my service honorably as I protect my race and my new fatherland with my undying loyalty to the Reichsfuhrer Grossmann and to National Socialism."

Interviewer: "Your heroic deeds and service in our Wehrmacht do not go unnoticed. The whole of our Reich celebrates your achievements on the battlefield as a true Ordenite warrior. Getting to the point, Herr Stanze. Please tell me about your story and how you became what you are now?"

Karl Stanze: "You want to hear about my life and how I became who I am? I was born in the City of Teralis in Dienstad. The Golden Throne as you know it came to be in a civil war that took my Father from me, He had been conscripted when I was only several months old. He fought and died heroically at The Battle of Targul Fumos. When I came of age the civil war had ended and a new government had secured the nation in the aftermath of one of the most devastating conflicts in Macabean Imperial history. In my years of being a student I had learned a lot of Macabean history and a rich history it was with it's fascist era being the period of history that inspired me to be who I am today. In 2025 I was a graduating student in one of Teralis's major college institutions and was hunting for a career to make me a living when I received a link from a chatroom I was in and got in contact with a recruiter from the Ordenite Waffen-SS Foreign Recruitment Office with an offer to recruit me and after speaking with the recruiter about my options It came to me that moment that this was my destiny. When I finished basic training at SS-Junkerschulen Langenbruck they assigned me to the 7th Volunteer Grenadier Division Dienstadi's Finest and in August during the war we were deployed to Chernaya at first before my unit and I saw fierce combat on the front lines near Tuktar mostly against the Stevidian Rapid Reaction Corps and Paratroopers who were coming to aide the invading Morridane forces that were sieging Tuktar and threatening Yukar as well. I lost many friends in those months, I had seen plenty more die in battle than I ever could imagine. It was hell, a hell I could not even bear to wish upon anyone. I had reached the rank of SS Sturmscharfuhrer in a month in a half of fighting near Yukar against both Morridane, Stevidian and even Marshite soldiers. In November of 2028 I was second in command of my Zug and my unit began engaging RRC forces North-West of Yukar who were 300 kilometers away from the city its self with Marshite forces following in tandem. My Zug had taken heavy casualties with 6 men wounded and 3 being critically wounded after 7 hours of fighting.

My SS Untersturmfuhrer was one of the critically wounded and had taken a heavy caliber bullet through the cheek by a Stevidian sniper. I therefore took command of the Zug and rallied the 5 of my men with 2 of them having been wounded and assaulted a Stevidian 5th Air Assault Division position in the deep forestry South-West of Tuktar in which we were victorious over the enemy who we tallied over 43 men killed in action and 12 wounded with our casualties being 3 of my men who fought side by side with me untill their untimely deaths on the battlefield. My taking of command during the heat of battle and managing to go on the offensive with a severely depleted unit and be able to route an entire platoon in which my superiors in the Wehrmacht decorated me with the Iron Cross Second Class . I was later promoted to SS Unterscharfuhrer and Zugfuhrer of my very own unit as a officer in the prestigious Waffen-SS. I would be fighting against my enemies alongside fellow Ordenite brethren and comrades in arms and the 7th SS Grenadier Division was transferred along with the regrouping 3rd SS Grenadier Division to the front lines at a town near Rubino against my very race, the homeland I was born and raised in but that was in the past now. We fought for the rest of November and into December until our division had suffered heavy losses trying to pierce Macabean positions on the outskirts of the city. A lot of my comrades and men I would call my own flesh and blood never returned from that island, hell, some even surrendered to them and deserted to their lines. I was fortunate enough that what was left of our battalion were one of the first to begin withdrawing from the fighting. Out of three hundred men in my Company only a hundred of them including me withdrew from the island after the war ended."

Interviewer: "What a riveting recollection of your past, Herr Stanze again I thank you for your sacrifice. It is no question what atrocities occurred in Fedala with over 30,000 Macabean Prisoners of War who all served in the over 78,000 strong 11th and 13th Corps that fought in and around Tuktar, in the south against the Erjemacht in Rubino were subjected to decimation as the form of capital punishment on the grounds of treason. Over a third of them were executed as part of a celebration spectacle in Fedala on winning it's efforts and aims in the war. How do you take all of this in having served with many of the men who were captured by the Erjemacht at Rubino?"

Karl Stanze: "I was disgusted when I found this out. I-I saw the list of names of the men in my Battalion that were confirmed as captured and I saw some good men on that list. My fellow comrades that served with me have been ridiculed and embarrassed, shamed as traitors by most back home. They don't even write back to me. The last letter I got from my Mother was how I hurt her and betrayed her by being labeled a traitor by the Imperial government. This is how the Golden Throne treats it's war veterans? They spit in our faces and curse our very names because we were on the wrong side of the Imperial agenda. We were no longer citizens of the Empire and we had no rights if we did even go back, we would just become victims ourselves. So the 20th Macabean SS Corps which was made up of what was left of our manpower and we were sailed back to the Reich and were granted citizenship once we set foot in Leckwitz Harbor. That's where our Corps landed and then transferred back to the barracks where each of us was awarded complementary citizenship. We would go through the process of integrating into Ordenite society."

Interviewer: "How have you adjusted to living in our Reich since you arrived here after the war?"

Karl Stanze: "I enjoyed every aspect of integrating into society in Germania, I am honored to be giving the opportunity to start a new life in our Reich. For the first time in a while I can say that I am very happy and free in the Ordenite Reich. My fight for National Socialism and my new Fatherland will continue as I have reenlisted into the Waffen-SS for 4 years of service. I have not only fought in Krasnova but I have also done my part as a role model of the Ordenite race at home. I am expecting my wife to bear children soon and I will be protecting him or her in whatever battlefield I may end up in next. I hope those in Teralis and across the Empire hear my words now and see where your devotion to National Socialism is needed. The bankers and Imperial politicians and elite aren't interested in you nor your families well being or their safety in there own homes. VEIYLAN - Ataza Missile Design Bureau [Ataza IDB] reported that the Bureau had obtained approval from Haishan Defense Ministry to provide Einkaufsabteilung der Wehrmacht [tl: Purchasing Department of Ordenite Military Forces] on behalf of Ordenite Heer [tl: Ordenite Army Forces] Kuz Short Ranged Air Defense [Kuz SRAD] and Voyze Medium Ranged Air Defense [Voyze MRAD] complexes toward modernization effort of Ordenite Heer's battlefield air defense means.

The multi-million dollar acquisition include setting up licensed local Ordenite production of associated systems plus the training regime and ten-year support and maintenance contract. Kuz SRAD is described as low altitude, missile based air defense system tasked for destruction of aircraft, helicopters, unmanned aerial vehicles, cruise missiles, homing artillery shells, gliding bombs, anti-radiation missiles and to lesser extent ground targets when necessary.

The Kuz SRAD is unique that it utilizes command-guided R-15 missiles to engage up to four different targets at once with its onboard multi-faced AESA radar. Each transporter-launcher-radar in Kuz SRAD carries twenty-five [25] R-15 interceptors, allowing it substantial battlefield staying power. Usage of command guided R-15 allow Kuz SRAD to have low munition costs, enabling long term saving over expenditure of launched missiles.

Voyze MRAD on other hand is a medium range missile defense system capable of destroying supersonic aircraft, helicopters, unmanned aerial vehicles, cruise missiles, tactical ballistic missiles, precision ordnance and to lesser extent engage both surface and naval targets. Voyze MRAD is equipped with dual active radar and passive infrared-guided R-50 missiles that were specifically designed to engage targets in heavy jamming environments.

Each transporter-erector-launcher-radar [TELAR] unit in Voyze MRAD carries eight R-50 missiles while transporter-launcher-loader [TLL] carries twelve R-50 weapons. The complex TELAR and TLL can launch four R-50 at once, with two missiles intended per target respectively. Both air defense complex are housed on modernized Doomani D1M87 main battle tank chassis acquired by Haize Army, giving them high mobility and crew protection similar to most armoured fighting vehicles.

A notional Kuz SRAD battery consist of four TLARs and one mobile Command Post while a battalion of Voyze MRAD have eight TELARs, eight TLLs and one mobile Command Post. Given both complexes were originally built to specifications of Haize Army, they have reaction and displacement times in matter of seconds and minutes; reaction time for both complexes averaged under thirty seconds while displacement under ten minutes.

Both complexes were built to specifically counter advanced airborne protection systems such as the Lyran-made, Tiamat electronic warfare system via various counter-jamming means and adjunct passive infrared imaging channels. The contract signing was made in Ataza IDB Foreign Acquisition Office in Hanchazen Ward, Veiylan City between Office Representative Lyuvat-Nara and Johannes Hupfer from Einkaufsabteilung der Wehrmacht in presence of Haishan Defense Ministry personnel.

The multi-million dollar purchase is expected to provide Ordenite Heer substantial boost in terms of point to area air defense means, particularly in dangerous Dienstadi conflicts that saw gratuitous expenditure of cruise missiles and other standoff weapons in recent times. The acquisition marked Ataza IDB first breakthrough into global air defense market and the Bureau expressed appreciation to Einkaufsabteilung der Wehrmacht by enabling thorough technical support and future joint venture work within the duration of ten-year contract.

It is just coming to light now that in the past few months, representatives from the Republic of Vectors and from the Golden Throne of the Maccabees signed a new agreement between the two nations.

The agreement has been described by government spokespeople as a powerful tool in restraining slaver nations navy projection in Greater Dienstad.

An unidentified number of Navy bases have been allocated or built for the Golden Throne to use as supply stations for their fleets operating in Western Greater Dienstad. While the number of bases has not been given, they are said to be able to dock ‘hundreds of ships at a time’ to easy supply and rest issues for the fleets so far away from their home bases.
As per the agreement, the Golden Throne has graciously allowed Vectorian vessels to resupply at Maccabeean ports, affirming a joint commitment and a new level of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

When asked why the government had waited so ling before disclosing this agreement to the public, the reply given was ‘this is a very fluid and controversial subject with many moving parts. All aspects must be assessed before disclosing any information of any potential value.’

This announcement comes a few short months after the creation of Task Force Redwater with the Commonwealth of Morrdh, and illustrates a renewed Vectorian commitment to being a strategic partner and ally for the free world in the West. One can only wonder what other talks are being held behind closed doors as the region navigates these troubling times.

Devistation Just Outside the Coltarian Colonial Authority Building in Downtown Rienth

This just in, reports have been confirmed that a massive explosives laden truck exploded outside the Coltarian Colonial Authority Building in downtown Rienth this evening. At this time authorities are unsure of the total casualties or who is responsible for the attack. However since the reestablishment of an independent Istegian republic there have been calls for Coltarin to begin a withdrawal to the old borders. Tensions in Rienth were high due to a recent string of attacks including the firebombing of a Pro-Coltarian Newspaper and the stabbing of three off duty soldiers in the city. SOLZOT - State-owned Gaokyvl Advanced Materials Center recently announced that the Center is moving toward commercialization of high tech materials, buckypapers of various kinds. Some of the products set for mass fabrication are carbon nanotubes and boron nitride nanotubes.

FEDALA EXTENDS CONDOLENCES
TO VICTIMS OF RIENTH BOMBING



Casualties still unknown, the bombing in Rienth
has caused considerable physical damage.

"We grieve for those who've lost in Rienth," said Kríerlord Daryl Novelle, earlier this morning during a televised speech to the public. "We grieve for the newest victims of terror. We grieve for those we've lost to cowards who call themselves fighters. The people of the Golden Throne know this enemy well, they are no strangers to us, and our hearts are with the people of Coltarin, brothers in this conflict against evil."

In his stirring address, Novelle pledged the empire's aid in Coltarin's struggle against terror should the far-eastern state want it.

The imperial advisor spoke for His Imperial Majesty Fedor I, who recently embarked on an imperial tour to various countries across the world. He is to arrive in Berlina, capital of the Ordenite Reich, first. A request for an imperial visit to Coltarin has been issued, although it is yet not known whether the far eastern country has included itself in the itinerary.

Although many details on the attack remain unknown, including the number of casualties and the full extent of the damage, it's clear that the attack has been absolutely crippling. The bombing took place against the Coltarin Colonial Authority Building in Rienth, but its size has resulted in considerable physical damage to the surrounding buildings. The streets and concrete sidewalks are littered with glass, brick, concrete, and other rubble. It looks much like a warzone, with authorities quickly cordoning the areas while emergency service personnel look for any civilians caught in the attack. A whole nation holds its breath while it awaits to hear the full verdict on Rienth, a city already affected by a long string of terror strikes. In an effort to assuage the costs, even if ever so lightly, Novelle announced a humanitarian commitment of Ŗ100 million.

Many in Coltarin have connected this most recent attack to the ongoing Istegium independence movement, which intensified after the eastern half — formerly occupied by Mokastana — was given independence. Although calls to withdraw from western Istegium have gotten louder, so far the Coltarin government has remained steadfast in its intent to hold on to its recently acquired territory. Whether this bombing will cause it to reconsider its position or only make it more stubborn in defending is Istegium interests will have to be seen, but the attack is sure to shake the government down to its foundations.

The topic of Istegium has always been an awkward one for the Golden Throne. At the end of the Great Díenstadi War, Fedala found itself in a shaky alliance of sorts with Haishan and supported Haize policies towards Istegium. As tension between Mokastana and Haishan wind down and having what it considers strong relations with both, the Golden Throne has been able to relax its own position with regards to the occupied country.

"His Imperial Majesty firmly stands against those who seek to meet political goals through violence against the innocent," said Novelle. "That is not the way to seek independence."

Novelle's words are surely influenced by the empire's own experiences with terror and the widespread insurgencies it has begun to call the 'Long Wars.' Terror attacks have struck throughout Theohuanacu, Holy Panooly, Guffingford, and New Empire. Tens of thousands of civilians have died as a result, driving deeper a sentiment of contempt for the civilian-focused method of attacking the security of the empire. Suffering from insurgencies, it is no surprise that the Golden Throne's opinions regarding Coltarin's occupation of western Istegium have become more supportive.

Indeed, along with humanitarian aid, the Golden Throne will turn over any intelligence gathered over the disparate Instegium independence movement, as well as on Homofront and other terrorist organizations. As Mokastana and Haishan have been strong allies in the war against the Scandinvan Empire, hosting Macabéan military bases during the length of the war, the empire has kept a close eye on organized violence, terrorism, and piracy in the region. The fruits of these surveillance efforts will be shared with Coltarin, hoping to give them the information they need to find justice and retribution for this latest assault on ordered civilization.

Hungry for retribution Coltarin must be. Its government has invested heavily in its new territory, improving the local infrastructure by building new roads, hospitals, and other utilities. Coltarin views Istegium not as a conquest, but as an economic opportunity and as an extension of itself. In fact, during the televised reaction, Novelle made clear that Coltarin's eager assumption of its governing responsibilities must be recognized and appreciated. He compared it to the Golden Throne's own efforts in Holy Panooly and the other territories, showing solidarity and understanding.

The kríerlord ended his speech with calls to resolve Istegium's future diplomatically. He called on Mokastana, Morrdh, and Haishan to show support for Coltarin and aid it toward a peaceful resolution to the intensifying asymmetric conflict, citing the importance of a unified front in confronting growing violence against civilians. Furthermore, Novelle also referred to western Istegium, asking the newborn government to seek its ambitions of reunification through a multilateral project.

Novelle addressed the violent elements of the Istegium independence movement directly. "Violence will only marginalize you, separate you, undermine you. You will lose the support of reasonable people. You will lose others' empathy for your cause. And in the end, you will lose the war. Your kind will not be remembered as heroes, but as failed murderers, misguided youth incapable of changing the system. Youth who instead take out their frustrations on the innocent and defenseless. The people implore you to find a peaceful conclusion to this political crisis and to accept the will of the public, of the people. Evangelize your cause through peaceful demonstration, the strength of rhetoric, and the moral force of your arguments. Persuade us, but more importantly your fellow people, of why yours is the better path."

"You may find it to be a longer path, but you will savor the end results all the more," finished Novelle. "We must avoid the unnecessary pain that comes with war when at all possible."

Terror Attack In Coltarin!

BREAKING.- There are confirmed reports of recent terrorist attacks in Coltarin, a nation that is also a member of the Commonwealth Colonial Authority.

First Minister Ser George Whittleton has extended his condolences to the people of Coltarin on what he called "a black day in the history of their nation". The FM went on to pledge Commonwealth personnel to assist Coltarin emergency services and to help with the post-attack clean-up as well as an undisclosed amount of financial aid. Ser George also called upon other members of the CCA to show their support for their fellow member.

The First Minister did also call for efforts to be made for a peaceful resolution to the affair and even offered the Commonwealth to act as a mediator. "There is an issue here that urgently needs to be addressed." Ser George stated. "All terror, no matter what guise it takes, is evil and represents the worst qualities of humanity. Though in some cases there are perceived grievances, sometimes even justified, that fuel these campaigns of terror. Find and address these grievances and theres hope for a diplomatic solution to the affair."
