There's no particular minimum length, I just want it to be detailed enough.

Faction apps are perfectly fine as long as they're not reverse-engineering Xantheian Tech. And no, you don't have to app ordinary faction chars, but I would like a app for the leader.

I have a question though, will our powers get stronger?

Character Application

Name: Elena Galadera

Superhero Name: Stormlight

Age: 23

Gender: Female

Race/Species: Fused Metahuman/Starkindler

Appearance: Right Here

Personality: Elena was always more of a quiet person, preferring her own company, and that of a few friends, becoming even quieter after her capture by the Xantheians. She is appreciative of all that she and others can do, and, although she can be sharp in her words, is generally amiable. Secretly, however, she is ashamed of the scars she bares and other unrevealed hurts.

Biography: Elena was born with an aptitude for art, and her parents appreciated it greatly, and provided her with everything they needed. However, after she won a few art contests with cash prizes, her parents took her money and encouraged her to do some more to help the family earn some money. That deeply troubled the young Elena, but she continued. When her parents divorced, the judge decided that neither of them were fit and set her to a loving foster care family in England. After attending a girls' boarding school, she headed to college in England, majoring in art.

However, while drawing the stars, she was hit by the Xantheian mutagen and gained the ability to project and use orbs of Stormlight--a variant of light--in order to power her physique and up her to the status of an enhanced human. She also gained an enhanced sense of color. She began to experiment with her powers and learn to better control them. However, soon later, aliens who called themselves the Xantheians literally came down from the sky, captured her and brought her to their orbiting ship, where they conducted experiments on her. Elena has not spoken to anyone of specifics of what happened there, but the Justice Queens rescued her from a room stained maroon, and Elena bore a multitude of scars over her body, although her face remained relatively untainted. Despite that, through the experimentation, she discovered that she also had the ability to create force-fields in which she could also fly. After their defeat of the Xantheians, and a short stint with the Justice Queens, she went to go find her true self, out into the world, discovering a device that she called the Stargate which alllowed for interplanetary travel through wormholes. Through her exploration, she discovered a race called the Alar. Getting friendly with the Alar, it was to her dismay that the Alar were attacked by a race of monsters known as the Voidbringers, who were thought to be extinct. Although Elena helped them in their fight, several Alar cities were destroyed and their entire civilization was on the brink of oblivion. Their Queen revealed to Elena that the Alar's only hope was to find their creators, the Starkindlers, a group of 9 cosmic beings who created the stars themselves.

Although Elena was skeptically, she agreed to take the queen's sister, her only heir, off-world to Earth, and look for the Starkindlers. Looking for months on end through the Stargate system, she finally found a Starkindler, the eldest and last of them: Yavanniel. All of the other Starkindlers had been slain, and Yavanniel was the last one standing against her evil, older sister, Malantur, and the Leth'hao, creators of the Voidbringers. Most of Yavanniel's physical form had been destroyed, and so she asked to share Elena's body, and in return, go back to the world of the Alar, Solunae, and save them. Agreeing, they joined together in a fusion that Elena didn't completely understand but now she had Yavanniel's voice in her head and more powers. Managing to escape from Malantur and the Leth'hao, they returned to Solunae and defeated the Voidbringers, but in their wake, Malantur and Leth'hao followed. However, Yavanniel had been greatly weakened throughout the hundreds of years she had been fighting, and so the powers she gave to Elena were also limited, and thus, the Alar were forced to go into hiding, Elena opening up random Stargates and sending the Alar race to a new world through the Stargate, barely escaping herself before the Stargate was destroyed.

Returning back to Earth, Elena teamed back up with the Justice Queens and also helped out Lorn in anyway she could, but hoped that the young Alar princess would find friends of her own age group...

Powers/Abilities:

  • Light Manipulation/Absorption (or Infusing): Elena can absorb light from anything but living creatures to use, by taking in a breath. The larger breaths she takes, the more light is taken in. This may darken a room, and give her an available power source. However, she must be careful not to breathe too deeply to not turn the atmosphere or her clothes around her into slate gray. This absorbing of light will also make her glow. She refers to this power as infusing, and can also create Stormlight spheres, orbs that can hold Stormlight at any time. If there is no light available, Elena can draw light from the spheres, which will make them dun , meaning colorless. They can be refilled by putting them in the sun or moonlight. She carries these spheres on her person at all times. Elena can infuse these spheres herself with her own power, storing it for later use. She can also infuse any objects with light, such as her clothes, a stick or a sword. Also, she can manipulate Stormlight from her spheres or absorbed light, but not regular sunlight or starlight that is not converted into Stormlight first.
  • Flight: Elena has the power of flight.
  • Peak Human Condition: Elena has peak human accuracy, agility, combat, durability, endurance, equilibrium, flexibility, healing, intelligence, longevity, reflexes, sensory system, speed, strength and wisdom when she has enough Stormlight. These will increase and decrease with the amount of Stormlight she has.
  • Sense of Color: Elena's sense of color is different from most humans, seeing everything in more radiance. The more Stormlight she has, the more her sense of color will increase, so that she can tell what shade of a color is visible.
  • Force-Field Manipulation: Elena can generate and manipulate powerful forcefields that are capable of blocking most things. Integrity of the force-field depends on her concentration.
  • Stargates: No longer needing the actual, physical Stargate, Elena can create wormholes capable of continental, planetary, interplanetary and interstellar travel.
  • Stellar Manipulation: Elena is theoretically capable of creating new stars, and controlling their movement and position, despite not being able to prevent stars from dying or falling. However, she is unable to use this power.
  • Star Habitation: The Starkindlers originially lived within, or moved part of their conscience to any star that they have created. Stars are created with chambers inside, filled with the tools, works, and other things. Elena is able to travel to these stars and actually inhabit them.

Weaknesses
  • Black Holes: This is one of the major weaknesses of Starkindlers. If Elena is anywhere near a black hole, her star/light powers are extremely unreliable.
  • Darkness or Unlight Manipulators: Elena is vulnerable to these types of manipulators who control things opposite and oppositive of light.
  • Intangibility: Intangible objects and persons can pass straight through her force-fields.
  • Eclipses: Elena is completely powerless during eclipses
  • Vulnerable without Infused Stormlight: Although Elena almost always can create Stormlight orbs, she must be in light to do so and if she has not infused any Stormlight, her physique is reduced, along with her Stormlight-based powers.

Equipment: Stormlight suit of armor, as seen in appearance.

Likes: Light, the Sun, Fighting, Art, Martial Arts, Muffins, Painting
Dislikes: Unlight, Malantur, Voidbringers and Leth'hao, scars, the Xantheians
Theme Song: Star Sky and Children of the Sun

I will allow power growth, yes, but it's going to be slow and only when it suits the character's development. Your character should not revolve around their power level.

Here it be. By the way, I decided to include an image/symbol that represents this faction'o'mine.

Faction Application
Image

Faction Name: Aleam

Location: Primarily, the United States.

Level of Technology: Aleam is slightly more advanced than modern technology.

Faction Biography/Lore: Aleam, deriving its name from the Latin word for Hazard, is a group of terrorists, criminals and villains who work together for the common goal of ensuring chaos. Aleam was founded by the mysterious Quaestio (Latin for 'Question'). Quaestio is the official leader of Aleam, whose only goals seem to be causing destruction and death. Aleam's preferred weapons are bioweapons or other weapons of extreme destruction (they have never gotten to WMDs level of destruction). Aleam is somewhat of a mysterious group; its various divisions and members throughout the States are only connected via their common association and employment under Quaestio. Quaestio is almost never seen himself in public; most of his appearances occur online or via television after 'hijacking' a news channel. Quaestio also uses secondary means of communication, i.e. his 'Agents' who work for him and tell things to members of Aleam.

Quaestio and his mysterious nature, along with the way Aleam functions, makes it seem unpredictable. Its members tend to have brawls with heroes in the process of their crimes, and if they are caught, some are even willing to kill themselves rather than expose their means of communication and/or contact with Quaestio. Quaestio leads Aleam with an extreme efficiency. If Aleam is involved, you can be sure that Quaestio made the order. They are by far and large one of the most organized and complex terrorist/villain organizations in the United States.

Population Size:[/box] 700 Humans/Non-Supers [who are known of]. 250 Cyber-terrorists/hackers/others [including Supers, and who have been identified as separate people]. 15 Supervillains. All in all, 965 members, give or take a few, under Quaestio's control.

Army Size: Unknown; presumed to be small.

Additional Information: All of Aleam's funds come from the Black Market or via complex sales on the Deep Web, where everything is anonymous and nigh-impossible to track.

Character Application

Name: [NOT AVAILABLE].

Alias: Quaestio.

Age: 19-25.

Gender: M.

Race/Species: Human [Debatable].

Appearance: Quaestio, as he appears in online livestreams and/or on television. For some reason, no matter how bright the image, his face is completely hidden in blackness as seen in the image. Usually, Aleam's logo is in the background; if not, its in an alternate hoodie that has it stitched in.

Personality: Calm, collected, organized. Intelligent. Quaestio doesn't make mistakes or slip up. He is very organized and compartmentalized. Quaestio also has a bit of a God complex.

Biography: Quaestio's origins and true name are unknown; however, it is presumed that he surfaced via the Deep Web some years ago. Quaestio went by his alias online, and nobody ever could figure out his real name or find out anything really about him. Quaestio founded Aleam initially as a way to organize like-minded people who felt the government was no longer necessary, or simply wished to instill anarchy and chaos upon the world. Quaestio was seen as a bit hypocritical by some, but ironic by others: an organized man who sought to create anarchy, with an organized group that sought the same goals. Quaestio has been leading Aleam for the past year, and it has only recently escalated to include supervillains in the past few months or so.

However, the supervillains it does include are reasonably dangerous, and must be stopped. Aleam seems only interested in the death and destruction of society itself. They will do anything to accomplish this. Quaestio has never appeared in public, and has only appeared in television or in online livestreams. Quaestio's voice is often slightly disguised, but it is easy to tell he's a male.

Powers/Abilities:
  • Hacking Intuition: Quaestio has the uncanny capability to seemingly hack into anything. If it's connected to the internet or ethernet, or if it's even remotely wireless, he can seemingly hack into it if it has data or storage. Quaestio has evidenced this by his ability to release government documents or show them off during some of his 'broadcasts.' This, along with his huge network of hackers working for him, means nothing online is safe from him. He likely sees and knows everything going on in the Web.
  • Cloaking: Or, rather, a version of Cloaking. It is assumed he has this power as he is able to keep his identity secret no matter what you do to images or screen captures taken of his broadcasts. It's as if he doesn't exist.
  • Tracking Evasion: Thus far, no electronic methods on Earth can track down Quaestio's true location, even past hackers who have worked for him. It's as if his electronic footprint doesn't exist, and he can't be found. Quaestio also registers no heat signature or x-ray signature when superheroes have reported using powers to see such even via recordings, suggesting he might not be human.

Weaknesses
  • Non-Physical: Quaestio can't get up close and personal by virtue of his refusal to do so. He relies on his hacking skills and/or his agents or Aleam soldiers and the like to interact with the 'real world' and do his deeds. Without them, he is likely nothing.
  • God Complex: Quaestio has a god complex. This means he tends to underestimate people he sends his agents/soldiers after.
  • Disconnected: If you're somewhere he can't see or hear you via cameras or surveillance systems, and you're somewhere where no devices are connected, he can't even touch you or have his agents get you.

Equipment: Unknown.

Likes: He seems to always have classical music on low volume in the background of his broadcasts.
Dislikes: Obviously, being stopped or losing men.
Theme Song: Mastermind by Eptic.

Additional information: Quaestio is always seen in neutral grey, with the red Aleam logo either stitched into his clothing or in the background of his broadcasts. It's as if he's obsessed.

RP Sample: I'm in this RP.

Accepted.

ANNOUNCEMENT: After some deliberation with my coops, I've decided to put an embargo, tariff, ban, etc on antiheroes and villanous factions/corporations/characters. I'm trusting your integrity on this one guys, but here's the catch. If, when you read this message, you have already began an app for an antihero/villain faction or character, you may finish it and it will be accepted. If you cleared it with me beforehand and have not begun to make the application, you can still make an app for somebodyvillainous, though I'll be judging villainous with much more scrutiny following this. If you really, really, really want to make a bad guy or faction, and it's unique, and you don't think you can live without it, TG me and I might grant exceptions.

My reasoning for this whole thing is this. Of all the factions so far, all but one appear to be benevolent, and I'm seeing more villains than heroes. After we get the hero:villain ratio to something more reasonable I'm perfectly fine with letting you fellas run riot with villains again. But the title is Venture of Heroes, ya feel me? ;)

Thanks.

Spin added some stuff in the Dark Ones app you might be interested in, the runes.

I would like more details on the Dark Ones and you to clarify something about Steve. He can't bring stuff from his dimension to this dimension, right?

no, he can return back there, but only through natural rifts, and can only go to places he has been before from there. He can bring himself, probably nothing more, i will consult you and the others before I do anything like that.

What kind of info do you want about the Dark Ones?

Motives, how they gained their power, who created them, interests in Earth, how they visit other worlds, and what have they done in their lifetime.

I haven't fleshed out anything about the Xantheians or the Morduns yet, so I'm afraid I can't help you there. Though I think they will be heavily-magic based, and very anti-tech.

depending, the Morduns could have started creation of the Dark ones, then they abandoned the World seeing the flaws and then got engrossed in the war with the Xantheians, or something.

I was just going to leave the Dark Ones origins as ambiguous, for the most part.

Starlight, would it be alright if I made an app for a character in Shadow's fac, to be controlled by shadow and spindle until a time at which one of the RPs I'm in dies or two weeks pass (because then finals are over and SUMMER)
I was already planning this character over TG just so you know.
It appears I'm an INTP-T. You're not gonna get much more about me.

Okay, cool.
