Well, I'm assuming that your budget of four trillion is for the entire armed forces. If that is the case, then I'd suggest getting a rough idea on the numbers of your Navy, Air Force, and any other branches that you may have before you start to lay out their equipment and how well they function as troops etc.

That's just my suggestion. Another II Mentor may suggest something else, however. ;)

Recently, I was thinking of venturing to MT, (preferably with a new nation) however, being used to RPing with FT, NHSS and high technology, I'm sure I will fail. If any of you mentors in MT have some spare time, I would like one of you to play an RP with me in MT where I can stabilize my MT nation's concepts, and create something that is likely to pass in that technology level.

The first piece of advice that I would give you is to read the guides on the following page:

Yes, that is a lot of reading, but it is the quickest way to pick up a lot about RPing, and really, you'd only need to read the guides about the International Incidents forum specifically, which cuts it down significantly.

Don't worry about creating your military at first, just get a feel for how RPing works in general, especially as applied to NS. I've seen lots of new RPers start with war threads, and they typically run into problems which create further problems down the road. So start with diplomatic or character RPs at first, and then get used to them. Later on, when you feel comfortable with RPing in general, you can start working on your military, and maybe participate in war RPs.

I am sort of new to rp and I have a question about rp. I was wondering where I could post an idea for an rp/story and just get feedback on it- would international incedents be the right place to post it?

My problem is that I'm not sure if I want to make it a story or not- as of right now, I don't see what it is going to become. I want to make it a story, but if there isn't really any involvement from anyone else (since its just asking about my idea) it shouldn't go into international incidents. But at the same time, I don't know how I want it to end, so I figure that involvement from other NS users could take me down a road that is different from what I might have come up with on my own.

You can put it in II, even if it's really just you. Worst case scenario, post it in the Native Story Index. I suggest posting an interest thread and seeing if there's anyone who wants to help you write it, and then going from there.

Okay, I noticed that the space of time between your first two posts in that thread was really, really, short. On the order of around 4.5 hours. Personally, I would give it at least 48 hours before I started asking people if they wanted to join an RP... not least because responding to yourself right away marks you as someone who doesn't have as much RP experience (whether you do or not).

Also, you said: "After my spy drama is over (which may be a long time from now), I have another idea for the next RP." The part in parentheses can sometimes give (fairly or no) the impression that you might not care as much about the RP idea that you are trying to "sell" in your interest thread.

Remember, you are trying to get people to like, and to want to participate in your RP idea. Think of it like selling a car, in a way. Yes, you want to be honest when describing your RP idea, but things like the above quote don't have to be said until you have at least one or two people who are seriously interested in participating in the RP idea, and you can do that via TG. In this way, you aren't lying to them (because you are giving them the information via TG), but you also make your idea seem more attractive to others.

It also helps if you don't seem nervous and impatient. The more in control of yourself and your RP ideas that you seem to be, the better (in other words, the more professional, the better). TGing people that you know about your RP ideas can also help you, especially if the people that you TG post responses on your interest thread, which not only increases the activity on your thread (thus hopefully removing the need to bump the thread), but then it also looks like your idea has support behind it from others, which will help others to take notice, and maybe participate.

You can also take a look at similar threads (if there are any), and see what they've done. This can help to give you further inspiration for your thread, as long as you don't just copy/paste what they are doing.
