In hindsight I need to start taking notes, lol.

I think Ifreann should just remind us all that he's from Dublin, and actually finish an argument on NSG

The definition of trolling: "the art of pissing people off"

Even if the majority of posters did not intend to offend the OP (which I doubt), they still ended up pissing him off anyway, therefore, both "trolled" and "answered" are both equally applicable in the sentence!

On an added note, it's wonderful to see that you're too lazy to actually attempt to refute this, and went and claimed to the mods that I'm "spamming".

Quite brilliant, really.

Please stop with the threadjack. The topic is what are you grateful for, not theism vs atheism.

I feel the opposite... the meeting of minds in NSG rivals that of some major institutions.... of course.... the bigger they are... the harder they fall.

Because I like the teams ideals and that they focus more on the sport. And because my father was, and my grandfather was, and so I have grown up rooting for them. Alot like religion.

But, is there a point? Absolutly not. And don't even bother pretending there is one. But it's fun. But I do not live FOR football. It is a part of life, but it is not life.

However, I can see football. I can play football. I can understand football.

Why should I root for a God when there is no sport being played other than that of life? Which seems to function perfectly well without prayer, as evidence of billions of years of evolution. So why cheer? Because it's fun? Nope. I cheer because I like the sport. The team is incedental. The sport is what matters. Life is what matters. Not the cheering. Not the teams.

Wait, you like their ideals? Why do you like their ideals over those of other teams? According to your philosophy, it's pointless.

And we Pray because we believe that it places us closer to God, like getting front row tickets. And it doesn't have to be a sporting event, it could be a ballet, or an opera, or even a rock concert. Anything that fulfills one's Spiritual Needs.

Well, yes. They play solid football without alot of gimmicks. And it is pointless. I have time for pointless activities as much as the next person. And the fact is that I like watching any good game. Be it Basketball, Starcraft, Chess, football, hockey, soccer (futbol), Lacrosse, Checkers, Battleship, Xbox, PlayStation, Wii.

It is not the team that matters to me. It is the fact that a game is being played.

Oh. You mean Group Social Activities. Don't see how that does anything for the spirit... more psychological than anything.

Music is pointless. And yet I love music. Art. Pointless. And I love Art.

But art doesn't order me. Niether does music. Religion does.

What you are failing to recognize is that just because I don't live FOR anything, doesn't mean that I don't ENJOY anything. I realized that religion not only pointless, like everythng else, but it trys to tell me that I need to live for it. And I don't enjoy that.
This Debate is simply an exercise in Rhetoric. Truth is a fickle being with no intentions of showing itself today.

Again, being more or less unofficially adopted into a Serbian family when it comes around to holiday time, don't must Serb's, being orthodox, celebrate Christmas in January?

Okay. I have read through this thread. There's a lot of random threadjackery and my brain now vaguely resembles a fried egg from having to read all of it. Behold now the terrible judgment of the fried egg! Cower before its greasy, rubbery might!

First off, as most of you probably already know, there's no thread ownership in General. You can't tell people to leave the thread just because they disagree with you. Long cat is long, debate forum has debate in it, Ceiling Cat observes us all.

Secondly, thanks to almost all of you for not flaming, trolling, et cetera. It makes the work of the almighty fried egg much easier.

Third, we come now to the one actually actionable post in all 30 pages of this interminable drivel.

*** Srboslavija, warned and banned for trolling ***. Implying that LBGT people are necrophiles is pretty clear-cut trolling. You had a three-day ban for trolling back in November, and now you get another one. If you didn't have a history, it would have been a warning alone.
