Currently 17th and 18th in the world rankings. Both of us call Nothandryun in AO home. (Only Maraque and unoccupied land between)

Nice matchup! Thanks.

Hey thanks! I hope you have a fun time with it. :)

Ooo, didn't realise we were so closely ranked. The Nothandryun element was one of the things that attracted me to it as well.

CH and Unibot have final say, and last I checked/heard, the deal was to stick to well-established derbies.

We seem to have one scorinator too many. Delaclava will be scorinating this event, unless they play as a backup side in which case we'll step in for that match. The Bumblebees will continue to prepare to defend their #5 ranking and cheer for their long-time captain when Petardos S/A play Yuba United.

If you need a roster for Aguazul, feel free to use our last one without Saavedra and maybe Osorio starting on defense instead of Poblano. They probably wouldn't name 23 players for a single game anyway. Or something like that. :p

ASMV World Cup 55 Roster and Information
*
You can do anything you like short of killing off players
*
Squad Name: Sea Dragons
*
Home Pitch: Stadii se Draggonnii Arcea
Image
*
Colors: Deep Sky Blue & Yellow[b]
Image
*
Style: [b]Tidal Surge 3-2-2-1-2 (-2 defensive)

*
About the Tidal Surge
The Tidal Surge formation is a hybrid style that makes use of athleticism in key “flex” positions that allow the formation to ebb and flow between styles to take advantage of personnel match-ups and break opportunities. At any point in the match the Tidal Surge can more remind viewers and opponents of a 5-3-3 (most often) or a 3 4-3 (least often) but can usually be found flexing in between those extremes.
Three key positions make this formation work. The offensive midfielder with which everyone is familiar and the two hybrid positions called “UP” backs. These two positions are a direct cross between center midfielders and outside backs. These two positions use athletic ability to move up and down the pitch changing the formation to fit the needs of current needs. Thus at any one moment the formation can resemble anything from a 3-4-3 to a 3-5-2 to a 5-3-2 creating, quite nearly, the perfect positions for almost any situations.
*
Coaching Staff
The Sea Dragons are blessed with a relatively young staff with several members only shortly past their playing days. They bring a fire to their preparation and leadership that keeps the players hungry to overachieve and ready to perform under any kind of pressure. After a great performance in World Cup 53, which was capped by an unexpected run into the quarterfinals, the staff has solidified their own positions and are geared up for another run at glory.
*
Manager Ibrihim Kali’Kalii m 42 6’3 225
Ibrihim brings a hard-nosed style that demands responsibility and respect for both himself and the entire organization. The Sea Dragons played very well under his direction in qualification for World Cups 53 and 54, making the round of eight in WC 53 before falling flat in the WC group stage in 54.
Now Kali’Kalii has returned with even more fire to prove the run by the Sea Dragons was more than just luck. He is now out to prove that the Sea Dragons deserve to be mentioned alongside the truly elite of the World Cup sides. That means finding a way to not only qualify for a third straight time, but to move into the knock-out stages and trade blows with the big boys and girls.
*
Offensive Asst Calif Atain’I M 44 6’2 195
To think of the defensive oriented Sea Dragons as having a scary good offense was unheard of - until now. Calif understands the transition from midfield to attack perhaps better than any other person in the world. And the scores show it.
*
Midfield Asst Lorea Kai F 43 5’10 165
The new crop of midfielders solidified during qualification and managed to be average in the WC group stage. Four years older, and presumably four years wiser, This group will be looked on to control the pace of the matches and allow the Sea Dragons to dictate results to their opponents.
*
Defensive Asst[ Mace Kinoz’gh M 46 6’2 225
Mr. Karaoke. Sometimes his players tend to forget just how good he was on the pitch. Four new faces appeared in the five-player flux of defenders the Tidal Surge makes use of, and it was the defense that let the Sea Dragons down in the end last time out. Mace has worked hard to put some aggressiveness into the play of the more finesse minded players. If the talent level on each side was not so high, he would have probably made the change to more physical players.
*
Goalkeeper Asst Jubaxilo Valdori M 38 6’5 200
With the retirement of Emyle Triarii, Jub will have to earn his check this time around. Ki’Seru is a talented keeper but it remains to be seen if he can be a real difference maker the way Emyle was.
*
Starting 11

Pos no name sex age ht wt/lbs

RS 19 Jonasei Ariq’Alara M 21 6’4 210
Built like a center back, Jonasei has turned into a commanding attacker that forces the defense to compensate against. Nearly a perfect blend of size and speed, the young forward looks to carve his own place from the shadows left by Jahirii. If play from the other side becomes consistent, Jonasei could score in bunches as he sees more defenses open up.

LS 17 Ciara Ju’Rizii F 22 5’7 145
The young attacker played well for much of the last campaign, although she did seem to disappear in big matches. That being said, the staff fully expects her to be a real difference maker in taking pressure off Jonasei. There is a huge difference between 18 and 22 in mental and physical toughness that should prove true in this outing.

OM 10 Kielquew Kijarii M 29 6’4 210
Sheer speed earned Kijarii a starting spot in WC53. Excellent play and dominating performances has allowed him to return as a starter and keep the spot. Hope is that with the two forwards being more seasoned, he can return to his WC53 form where he picked defenses apart as he moved forward to help the attack. If Kijarii can be just half as good as he thinks he is, he could be the best offensive midfielder in the world.

RM 11 Niripsa Arunasii F 20 5’11 150
Niripsa celebrated her 16th birthday during World Cup 54 qualification. She will turn 20 on match day 1 of these qualifiers. The young girl who impressed the world with her determination now has physical ability and experience to back up her dogged approach to the game. She could be considered the key to the entire WC55 process.

LM 29 Aityrano Morigra M 32 6’3 200
Once a talented young forward, back injuries forced a move to the midfield hwere Morigra has settled in quite nicely. Solid footwork define his style as he uses innovative techniques to wrest the ball from his opponents. Creativity more than makes up for any loss of speed due to his injuries.

RUB 13 Kymykera Wu’eres F 35 5’6 145 Kymykera proved herself to be the most dominating force for ASMV on the pitch since Evan Evans in WC29 and finally gave full merit to the Tidal Surge formation and its innovative Up Back positions in the process. Kymy loves the versatility of her place and continues to look for ways to improve her game and make those around her better. She can be expected once more to control the pace of many matches and wreak havoc any place on the pitch.

LUB 14 Jarika’u Mik’kiz M 27 6’3 190
A solid starter in his own right, Jarik’au is often overlooked as opposing sides prepare for how to deal with Kymy. Huge Mistake. Jari has grown into a dependable Up back who can hold his own even if it is without the pure talent of his counterpart.

RB 44 Salis’hava N’soritii F 22 5’11 159
This may be the last chance for Sali to prove this is her position. Inconsistency plagued her debut in the WC54 campaign. She has the skill set to be a dominating player but needs to get her mind off of Mace and on to the position she might just lose during the qualifiers.

CB 18 Laia Un’jeru’betcii F 21 5’11 158
Adrenaline junkie who plays the game with a kamikaze fearlessness. Makes up for lack of experience with effort and style. The Sea Dragons are historically known for hard hitting defenders and Laia follows that trend to a T.

LB 54 Pijaru Tami’Kurei M 23 6’6 220
Another positioning guru at defender, the Sea Dragons are taking a risk in moving away from the more power-oriented backs. Pijaru has the speed more closely associated with attackers and a skill with the ball that would warrant a spot in the midfield. Only his love for the defensive positions has kept him from being moved forward. It will take more than love for him to keep the spot.

K 84 Omigaeyun Ki’seru m 22 6’5 122
Young and talented keeper who is truly gifted in his instincts in the net. With Emyle’s retirement, the show is now his to control. Time will tell if his flashy style will compare in results to the more calculating and patient style employed by his predecessor.

Reserves
F 12 Ombare Huxa’Se M 22 6’3 185
Quick and aggressive, Ombare has the ability to become a threat any time he takes the pitch. The only real problem is consistency as he has a tendency to overrun plays better served with a bit less zeal.

M 39 Niccen Zurdun-Cavelii M 24 6’2 178
Niccen and Niripsa fought hard for the starting position and Niccen just was edged out. Splendid with his ball play, Niccen will get time should Niripsa falter or if the injury bug should bite Aitryano again.

D 50 Erzua Lua’Kai F 23 6’2 160
Zua is a bit of a question mark for what is considered to be a solid, even if young, roster. Hard-hitting and lightening fast, she has every tool needed to succeed at this level. But at times it seems as if her brain takes a vacation making her prone to silly, yet costly, mistakes. Kuri’Kurii is convinced he can help find her full potential, but that remains to be seen. With mental lapses plaguing Sali’shava as well, who knows what will happen with the defense.

K 99 Sanlioch Bez’Al M 16 6’1 240
If anyone had told Kuri’Kurii that he would have a very young, overweight, mouthy, attitude case of a reserve keeper when World Cup 55 qualifiers got underway he would have laughed in their face. Yet that is exactly the case. The reason? That very young, overweight, mouthy, attitude case of a reserve keeper allowed only one goal during the month of trials to make the squad. Not only that, but when told “Go home. You won’t be trying out this time.”, Sanlioch strode onto the pitch, asked Ki’seru politely to move out of the way, and proceeded to stop the next 22 shots from the Sea Dragon starting forwards. Could this be a reincarnation of legendary Sea Dragon Keeper Shaun Conarky? Hmmm…

Team: ‘Bears Armed (Mainland)’, alias "The Bear-Belles"..

This is exactly the same team that we used for the final of World Cup 54. For them it is now early summer in 2052AD, even though the Bears’ diplomats will “already” have voted on (FOR) the commendation of Commerce Heights “back” in 2012… Yes, really!

National football organisation: ‘Bears Armed Association for Soccer’ (= ‘BAAS’).
(Chairbear: Harroya ‘of the Rovers’ o Redwood [Chairbear of Merlchester Rovers S.C.; previously Captain of the Bear-Belles for some years.])
National anthem: ‘Peace’.

Staff

Manager & Chief Coach: Marra SunDaughter (female Ursine, a member of the ‘Sun Clan’; played in BoF31 & WC44, as the usual starter at ‘Left Forward’ and the team’s Captain, scoring a good proportion of the Belles’ goals’, and was also captain of her home team the 'Sun Valley Smashers’, but subsequently had to retire from active play due to a crippling injury to her right leg; involved in coaching her home team since then, and ‘Deputy Chief Coach for the national team during WC45; became Chief Coach for WC46, retaining that job when the ‘Bear-Belles’ became the “national” team of the ‘Mainland’ alone from WC47 onwards and became Manager as well after WC49; Soccer experience =10 years as a player, now in her 40th year as a full-time coach; official age = 70* but now looks & moves more as though she’s back in her early 30s instead, left-pawed, fur = golden-brown, good eyesight even by human [rather than Ursine] standards... She played in 2042’s Queen’s Cup and the following year’s Draggonnii Inviyatii, as well as managing the Belles during both of those contests, but then reverted to a purely off-the-field role once again…)

First-Deputy Manager & Chief Coach: Sunnarra o Redwood (female Ursine from Clan Redwood, formerly played for 'Heroes' Park Harlequins’ and for 28 years for the BearBelles too as a Defender/Midfielder [ usual position = ‘Lynchpin’], promoted to this job in between the qualifiers & Cup proper for WC53; age = 45, right-pawed, fur = light brown; quite fast; has a degree in Military Science. Sunnarra made her ‘international’ debut in Oxen Cup 11, although she wasn’t then selected for a World Cup squad until WC48...)

Deputy Manager & Chief Coach: Errmintrra o RedSun _ Clan = Red Sun [Free Sept]; played as Striker or Winger [usual position = Right Forward] for ‘NorthPort Navigators’ for 26 years; she actually made her ‘international’ debut as a reserve in the “undivided” ‘Bears Armed’ team for the ‘WC46’ cycle, as its first ever recruit from within the Northlands League’, and remained with them after that for both ‘Oxen Cup11’ & ‘WC47’ then became Captain of the ’NorthBears’ instead; doubled as that team’s ‘Attacking Coach’ for the ‘Cup of Harmony’ in the WC51 cycle, and retired from playing to take up the job of Deputy Manager for the reunified national team instead shortly after the decision to re-merge the two teams had been taken; played for the Bear-Belles in the Draggonnii Inviyatii of 2043, player-manager of the NorthBears again for their revival during WC53; official age = 53* but now looks more as though she’s back in her 20s or early 30s, right-pawed, fur = light reddish-brown, above-average eyesight.

Deputy Manager (Admin): Urradarra o SwanWater (female Ursine, from Clan GreenWoods; formerly Deputy Manager of the Heroes’ Park Harlequins, and more recently a staff member at BAMAS [as it then was], originally appointed to this job for ‘Oxen Cup 14’; age = 43, fur = medium-brown & quite long [but fashionably so…], left-pawed).

“Mascot”: ‘The Wise Grorrfinn’ (male ‘TrueBear’; age = undisclosed [but considering some of his appearances in old stories apparently somewhere over 1’500, at least...], ambidextrous, fur = medium-brown; recently revealed to be the maternal grandfather of Urra SunBlesséd…).

Players

Starters

Goalkeeper: (#1) Rosa o SnowWhite,

Left Back: (#2) Beorra Marra o Barrdenn
Centre Back: (#5) Erra o MiddleMarch
Right Back: (#3) Urrsirha

Midfield Centre-Right: (#7) Renatha Virra’s-daughter
Midfield Centre-Left: (#4) Urra ‘Honey’ SunBlesséd (Captain)
Midfield Outer Right: (#20) Arna-Maggra o Wirrenne
Midfield Outer Left: (#6) Urrthra ‘White Lightning’ Lightning

Right Forward: (#25) Marvra WestFarer
Centre Forward: (#10) Urrsa SunBlesséd (Deputy Captain)
Left Forward: (#11) Irrarla SunDaughter

Substitutes

Goalkeeper: (#15) Urrathanna o BerryGlades,
Defence: (#17) Arranarra o Harruorr
Lynchpin: (#32) Sammhra Fairbarrrhn
Midfield: (#23) Cierra o Vorross
Winger: (#13) Darronthna Lightning
Forward: (#12) Jhargeena Lightning
Forward: (#26) Errsae Moonlight o Herrchaum

All of these players are actual Ursines (i.e. anthropomorpic, bipedal Bears), apart from #7 (who is a VerraVokksurr, i.e. human-sized anthrorpomorphic Fox) and #25 (from the Harr'aynau people, who are physically human — basically, anyway, although inclined towards heavy builds & hairiness — but spiritually & culturally Ursine instead).
You can find further details about those players here, but they are all now three years older than back when that article was written at the start of WC54’s qualifying stages…

Notes

Style: Offensive, modifier = +2.5… ("A good offence is the best defence"...)

RP injuries to my players / Godmod injuries to my players / Hand out Yellow cards to my players / Hand out Red cards to my players: Y to all, at least to start with, but remember what I've written here and keep it in limits accordingly... Any serious offences by my players would probably result in injuries to your players, and causing any serious injuries to my players would probably require such obviously-deliberate attacks that your players would get yellow or even red cards as a result too. Don’t kill anybody, or inflict injuries that would be serious enough to end careers, without checking with me & getting my approval (which is unlikely to be granted…) first.

Godmod Other Events: Y, I suppose, at least as long as you do so in an AMUSING way... but please remember that Ursines are fully sapient beings, as much as Humans are, not instinct-driven animals. Oh, and of course female Ursines are not sexually interested in Humans (of either sex), and it's very unlikely that female Harr'ayanau would be either. Please don't have them run amok or outright revert to animality, without checking by TG first, don't make assumptions about their views on politics or religion, and don't do anything that would make more than one of them incapable of playing in their next game...

______________________________________________________

Kit: This incarnation of the team will mainly wear the same set of designs (from ‘ediraf’) that the “unified” national squad did for WC52, with the ‘Association’ badges staying ‘BAAS’. See "here" for details.

This team's members (including the designated substitutes for the match in question) will perform a [fairly short] ritual that's called the 'harrdiharr' on the pitch just before play begins... This is a traditional war-dance, meant to over-awe opponents, that has come to be a customary prelude for team games as well (similar to the [RL] New Zealanders' 'haka'...). : )
As has now been seen during various tournaments, some of our fans like to take drums — and possibly cow-horns, or other "musical instruments", too — along to the matches...

Certainly; it will be played at Olympic Tower Stadium in Aeropag (which Sorthern footballers should be quite familiar with being dragged off to :P).

Home Away Third

Manager

Daugar Massimo
Age: 17,445
Massimo finally shut up his critics for good when he delivered the fourth World Cup trophy to the Hatire Memorial, and now he looks to usurp the title of greatest Vanorian manager as he leads the side once again. Having gotten to two Finals, he knows what it takes to get his players motivated for every game, and is ready for the challenge that comes with being the holders of the trophy of the greatest sporting competition in the multiverse.

Assistant Manager

Gilmeluon Werlothas
Age - 12,872
A strong and steady second in command who is the liaison between Massimo and his squad.

Keeper

1 GK Mariaddren Undodhen, FC Therathor ~
Age - 807
Sex - M
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 174 lbs
Undodhen has become a great keeper in a short amount of time and proved that the Marauders are all not about a great possessive attacking game when it mattered most last tournament. With big clubs from across the multiverse looking to sign him, he has every reason to continue to perform admirably for the side when called upon.

Defenders

17 Hanutaut Lilithian, Soldarian FC
Age - 604
Sex - F
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 154 lbs
Agile and a superb little bit of tackling skill are her best attributes and she uses them well to confound attacking players into making plays that they would rather not.

12 Dwier Titenburg Jr, Royal Khaldoon (Queer Poco el Mono Ara)
Age - 419
Sex - M
Height: 6'3"
Weight: 162 lbs
Despite his tender age, he is undoubtedly the heart and soul of the entire defensive side of the equation. He leads by example and through words of wisdom that an elf his age does not often show. He has proven to be very much his father's son and then some.

9 Thankanion Elenelwa, Mar Sara FC
Age - 602
Sex - M
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 180 lbs
A strong and physical presence that will put some bite into the backline alongside Titenburg.

Midfield

24 Espy va Drake, Raynor City United
Age: 719
Sex - M
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 159 lbs
va Drake has become something of a folklore hero of those obscure footballers and for much of the country. His rise to prominence and amongst the best in the world at his craft has given them hope that they can do so as well. Green Island made him a star while Albrecht Turkish and the national team showed he could play within the team, he is everything a manager could ask for and more. He finally crafted his place among the legends of the game when he won the World Cup in the last edition.

21 Aintôrthea Durosa, Cafundó do Juta (Cafundeu)
Age - 728
Sex - F
Height: 5"10"
Weight: 144 lbs
Durosa is one of those players that can play just about any position, as her skill set is vast and adequate in multiple areas. She has done exceptionally well in her CMSC seasons, nabbing goals and assists with regularity and has continued with her transfer to the Cafundeu league. Her good knowledge of va Drake's typical playing patterns has made the two to be a devastating pair for the opposition to contain.

14 Laborious Hawk, Petardos S/A (Cafundeu)
Age - 683
Sex -M
Height: 6'5"
Weight: 213 lbs
Words do not even began to define his talent, his talent defines words. He was awarded one of the spots that the Vanorians have in the World Cup Hall of Fame, with it being very well deserved, as he has and continues to earn everything he has been given every single day.

8 Morronuth Neltanta, Wexax United ~
Age - 714
Sex - M
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 164 lbs
A strong and physical player who uses his body well when shielding off opposing players off the ball. Lacks the pace of some of the squad but is great at keeping possession and finding an outlet pass.

28 Faeron Soldarian, Raynor City United
Age - 597
Sex - M
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 163 lbs
His skill, his heritage, his heart, there is nothing about the eldest Soldarian son that you would not like. He wears his heart out on his sleeve, and is probably better for it, as he is the spiritual leader of the side. What Hawk might do for the mental state of the team, Scott equals that in getting for the spirits up. All in all, he is simply a world class footballer and person, one that children across the world can aspire to emulate.

Strikers

6 Allandren Fresco, Petardos S/A (Cafundeu)
Age - 472
Sex - M
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 167 lbs
Fresco proved once again that he is suited for any role that his managers wish to give him, easily sliding into the starting striker role alongside Hearts. A great shot and football IQ make him a very dangerous attacker for the Marauders.

11 Lucas Hearts, Hondo FC
Age - 856
Sex - M
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 153 lbs
Hearts is an out and out goalscorer who has a nose for the goal and a talent for getting open even in a crowded box. His skills work quite well with the skill set of Fresco, and it produces a lethal one two strike force that will put fear into the hearts of those teams that must face a proud Marauders squad.

Subs
2 GK Veryasirion Dart - age 658 - Raynor City United (M)
20 GK Belltarion Nartalhûn - age 688 - AC Valanari (M)
4 CB Tandion Aeraglinaeth - age 744 - Soldarian FC (M)
