Reposted from the World Cup Discussion thread for convenience; the original post of this thread will be altered to reflect the change.

(One player), by their own admission, appears to have five nations entered in the World Cup. British Ecuador was the first to enter. The other four, in alphabetical order, are Anglonesia, CRIME EVIL AND MORE, Future Events, and Megadia.

Host Ruling: Anglonesia, CRIME EVIL AND MORE, Future Events, and Megadia are disqualified from World Cup 54.

We are taking the question of British Ecuador's participation under advisement. The entry stands at 175 if British Ecuador is permitted to continue, 174 if not.

Thank you to all the nations that called attention to this matter.
NS World Cup: Runner-up 55/59; Third place 50/52/58/62/63; Host 49/54/60.

Stadium:
Velká Noviková Stadion, although not the largest football stadium in Novikov, is widely considered the most beautiful in the country - not to mention the most modern. The stadium was designed specifically for the 51st World Cup, but construction was delayed and it was not completed until halfway through the qualifying phase of that Cup. Novikovians living in and around the capitol soon fell in love with the new landmark and the stadium is now one of the most used in the country - having hosted concerts, lacrosse competitions, and military drills as well as national and international football matches. This popularity led to the stadium being named the Novikovian National Team's home field, and from now on they will play all home matches on its turf. The stadium is built to comfortably house 73.400, including 1.400 in luxurious box seats.

Formation
Coach Gabčík has recently modified the Novikovské Národné Futbalové Mužstvo starting formation for his traditional 3-5-2 to a 2-4-2-2 formation, playing four midfielders (generally two wingers and two CMs) far forward with two supporting DMs. According to press reports, Coach Gabčík and Manager Bel both hope that this new formation will allow for a more aggressive and fluid play, in line with the national team's new strategy of "total football."

THE KIT

Image

From left to right: Home Kit, Away Kit, Goalie Kit

THE ROSTER

Goalkeepers:
#1: Joris Eisenberg (41) - Fortuna Njifelheim (41 Federation Games, 0 goals)
Starting keeper for the last few years. Strong keeper on the line but bad control of the penalty area, although he improved this area as well. Is said to retire after this season.
#12: Peer Zorin (19) - Kellwick Leprechauns (0, 0)
Surprise nomination. Talented but a bit of a hotshot. Has been backed by the media as #1 since the nomination but is prone to lack of diligence in training.
#23: Tacitus Engström (37) - Jotunheim Intersports (7, 0)
Experienced Goalkeeper, maybe past his prime already. Solid but doesn't get many of the 'impossible' ones.

Centre-Backs:
#2: Titus Goldstein (32) - Jotunheim Intersports [TEAM CAPTAIN] (65, 9)
Strong tactical player with good offensive breaks and dangerous headers. An intelligent player and certainly one of the key players for the squad.
#4: Levon Beer de Shevin (27) - Friends of Eusthaven (31, 1)
Physical player. Strong athlete with excellent 1on1 skills. An excellent player on his own but often he fails to synchronize his actions with his teammates and creates gaps.
#14: Roman Elfstedt (38) - Helsingsand Soccer (24, 0)
Controversial choice. Good allrounder but prone to injuries. Doesn't do much to support the offense but incredibly strong in 1on1 situations. Solid choice on each defending position.
#22: Thore Einfreden (21) - Fortuna Nijfelheim (2, 0)
Youth player who is still gathering experience and developing his style. There is a bit of controversy about his extensive nightlife that might hinder his progress.

Wing-Backs:
#16 Hiroaki Nawashimaru (42) - Fortuna Nijfelheim (94, 7)
Left Side: A star player in Consortinean soccer. Compensates age with ingenuity and tactical prowess and becomes better each season. Has already announced his intent to continue at least till 50.
#13 Frodo Erdstetten (28) - Elsslingen Soca (6, 0)
Left side. Returned from the international peace corps and service in the temple of violet only a few months ago. Strong ambidextrous player with cunning passes and technical skills - at least before his big break.
#5 Ömer Gülyin (35) - Kankürüspor (2, 0)
Right side. Kankürüspors allround weapon in the defense has been intensely debated as a candidate for the team ten years ago but he was dismissed for not embodying the type of offensive wingback Consortina needed. The dire situation on the right wing has brought him to the team rather surprisingly. Solid defensive line backer but a bit slow.
#21 Jonas de Haayen (20) - Jotunheim Intersports (1, 0)
Right side. After a strong Commonwealth Cup and season, he has been pushed by the media as the new hope on the right wing. Neglects the defense a bit from time to time and apparently has trouble integrating in the new team, missing his timing too often.

Wing-Forwards:
#8 Mary Peace (27) - Heidesand IF (16, 3)
Left Side. Had been controversial as Consortinas first transgender soccer pro but after the media attention died down, she let her ability speak for herself. Excels in 1on1 and dangerous crosses. Always one to fight till the last second.
#3 Tungval Arminson (30) - Cerkswain Rovers (14, 2)
Left Side. Has been off and on the team for about eight years now. Bouts of bad form and injuries have thrown him back whenever he got close to the first team. Last season he switched to the left side which diminished his accuracy and ingenuity somewhat.
#19 Ivan Zarkov (32) - Helsingsand Soccer (35, 1)
Right Side. Solid physical player with good passing skills and stamina but lacks creativity and deadliness in front of the goal.
#17 Stanislaus Leonbert (23) - Braackedorf Wattworm (7, 3)
Right Side. A bit of the antithesis to Zarkov. Creative and dangerous in the offense but lacks tactical discipline and neglects the defense every now and then.

Holding Midfielders:
#10 Wildmut Weyerhagen (28) - Jotunheim Intersports (50, 6)
Tactical genius but notorious for dirty tricks and foul play. Withdrew from captainship after a fallout with coach Wildgrimson. Suffered from a spell of bad form recently.
#6 Yngfrid Reich (39) - Kirkerrick Warriors (85, 14)
Experienced legionnaire who travelled through eight clubs and assumes leading roles naturally. Has played with Weyerhagen for a long time and formed his style of play greatly. Has a bit of an authority problem which hinders communication on the pitch sometimes.
#15 Boris Krok (26) - Fortuna Nijfelheim (3, 0)
Very recent third-stage immigrant who moved to Consortina explicitly to find a place in the national squad. Box-to-box player with strong physical play and good passing. Is a bit notorious for giving up a bit too early and not pulling his weight in hopeless situations.
#18 Aiko Ravenburg (20) - South Superplex Tiger Squad (6, 1)
Child prodigy with strong offensive skills and great variability. Recently moved abroad to the bigger leagues as one of the first Consortineans. Great all around talent but still makes individual errors every now and then.

Forwards:
#7 Tore Toivonen (21) - Heidesand IF (4, 1)
Secondary striker. Toivonens quickness, dribbling skills and selflessness in front of the goal make him a great secondary striker. Already he has made a name for himself in the first league. The only thing he lacks is consistency in his play.
#9 Trautman Rothschild (29) - Bergen Hemmelgard (27, 6)
Secondary striker. Has spent the last few years as Consortinas striker number #2, #3 or #4, never making it to top notch but never being dismissed entirely either. He is great in 1on1, he passes well, he works in the defense – he just has this problem of taking too many chances for his goals.
#11 Rusley Kingston (25) - Patrikstad Roosjes (4, 2)
Striker. Surprise nomination. Has played a good season with many goals and assists but his constancy is yet to be seen. Known to launch deadly shots from any distance.
#13 Ernhold Mühlbergen (33) - Jotunheim Intersports (38, 16)
Striker. Solid box player but not one to participate much in the defense. Can hold the ball until the midfielders catch up with him.

Sacha Chrétien has named the squad he will be calling from for the qualifiers for World Cup 54. He has named 30 players, although they will be rotated so no players will be over-exposed or over-exhausted after a long domestic season. The first choice players will be in italics, although it is unlikely any one player will play every match.

Home Stadium
Soccer is far from the national pasttime of Churchmanians, and that is extremely evident because of where the Gators will play their home games again for the World Cup (since playing here for WC53 and CoH 45). All home games will be played at the ancient Kyle Mercer Field (better known as KM Field), with a capacity of 11,500. Unless a big-time team comes to town, odds are that KM Field will not sell-out.

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:
Choose my goalscorers Y
Godmod scoring events Y
RP injuries to my players Y (I'll determine severity)
Godmod injuries to my players N
Hand out yellow cards to my players Y
Hand out red cards to my players Y (one per match please)
Godmod other events N

Other important info:
WC 53 Record: 8-3-7 (4th place in Group 12 with 27 points)
CoH 45 Record: 8-2-1 (Group D Champs), went on to win CoH

NEWMANISTAN COMEBACK TEAM- WORLD CUP 54

Newmanistan is a different nation then what you may have been used to before. The Empire has increased its landmass by about 33% thanks to annexing 70% of the land once known as Secristan after the latter ceased to exist. That was one of the middle stages of Emperor Michael IV’s mission to bring the Empire back to international prominence in sports. Part of his “deal” with the spirits of Tundra Falls was that there could be no ties between this team and previous Rockets teams. So while Jeremy McAllister, Jr. did not particularly like that news, there are no McAllister’s, no Prescotts, etc, etc. Even though the Rockets are unlikely (but won’t be from lack of effort) to get to Cassadaigua or The Babbage Islands for the World Cup Proper, the Emperor is excited that this Cup will be played again on One Big Island soil, helping our people especially get in the football frame of mind again.

In Newmanistan, the year is 2101. My years will progress between World Cups based on how many domestic seasons I get done between then. So it may be possible that between WC54 & 55, I age players by 2 years, and then between 55 & 56, I age them by 3, then between 56 & 57, I age them by only 1.

Head Coach: Steve Tremblay
Age: 46
Club Team: Loudon Leopards
Bio: It is expected that this assignment will also lead to Tremblay coaching the WC54 team as long as the team plays respectably. Steve likes offensive, attack minded football, but knows how to do it cautiously and not jeopardize the defense. He’s a likeable person, and players work hard for him.

Assistant Coach: Tony Allen
Age: 39
Club Team: Hampton Bulldogs
Bio: Preaches a defensive style at home, and does a great job getting the most out of the players he puts on the pitch.

Assistant Coach: Robert Palmer
Age: 44
Club Team: Dover City Mountaineers
Bio: Replaced Chris Merrill in Dover City, Palmer preaches a style of high work ethic and overall gritty and physical play.

**** STARTING LINEUP ****

Name: Kyle Perry
Position: GK
Age: 28
Jersey #: 1
Club Team: Centralia Cougars
Bio: Some might argue that he benefits from playing in Centralia, the best defensive team in the Empire, but Kyle has certainly earned his spot here, statistically. He relies mainly on his positioning, and can take a lot of risks in playing the ball, overall. That’s fine in Centralia, but some are concerned about that here. Tremblay has advised him to not be as aggressive. But will he be able to adjust?

Name: Chris Dayten
Position: LB
Age: 18
Jersey #: 3
Club Team: Pocono City Capitals
Bio: You don’t get signed by the Capitals as a 14-year old unless you are something special, and Chris has shown to be just that. After two seasons of playing for their “B”-League affiliate, Dayten got full-time duty in the NPL and impressed, winning the Rookie Defender of the Year award. Off the pitch, he is immune to distraction and concentrates solely on making himself better. Played in this position in the Di Bradini Cup and was outstanding, earning him this spot, despite his age.

Name: Myron Jackson (***ALTERNATE CAPTAIN ***)
Position: LCB
Age: 23
Jersey #: 2
Club Team: Pocono City Capitals
Bio: Myron is addicted to working out. He is the first to enter the gym, the last to leave, and sometimes has to be begged to actually, leave (in fact when he was 16, his then girlfriend dumped him because the only thing he was in love with, was the workout room, in her opinion). This has paid off though as he is a man of incredible physique. He uses it to his benefit on the field, and will treat your player roughly, but at the same time, do it very cleanly and within the rules. Very, very rarely is booked. He’s one of those players you’re forward will hate during the game, but at the end of it, respect him a lot. Many feel his incredible work ethic has had a lot to do with the quick rise of Chris Dayten in Pocono City, and they are probably right. Oh yeah, he’s very happy with his new romantic relationship (Dayten’s older sister).

Name: Robert Cosgrove
Position: RCB
Age: 24
Jersey #: 4
Club Team: Centralia Cougars
Bio: The kind of defender that likes to take chances, both in challenging a shooter, and then offensive chances of his own. Those risks are justified due to the power of his shot, and he must be accounted for by the opposition on set pieces, especially. Since Centralia employs such a defensive system, when those risks backfire, teammates usually back him up. Coach Tremblay is confident that will happen here as well given the caliber of players on the national team.

Name: Steven Bryant
Position: RB
Age: 26
Jersey #: 7
Club Team: Brighton Bulls
Bio: Steven is a rock. He isn’t quite as ripped as Jackson is, but he will be physical as well. Another difference is though while Jackson is rough, but clean; Bryant will be rough and dirty. Though the Prescotts are gone from our rosters now, he grew up watching them, and loves the way they played. A tabloid pointed out that Bryant might be a little more aggressive towards your player during qualifying as he is a bit angry over catching his girlfriend cheating on him with a player on the Loudon Leopards.

Name: David Colman
Position: LM
Age: 27
Jersey #: 6
Club Team: Southport Tigers
Bio: Colman has deceptively good speed on the wing that you must respect, and he is also very good in delivering a cross. He’s not the kind of guy you are going to find on the scoresheet much, or get booked, but he always seems to find a way to get the job done. He is known for his consistency with the Tigers.

Name: Kenneth Snider
Position: CAM
Age: 25
Jersey #: 12
Club Team: Putnam Lake Eagles
Bio: Depending on the game situation, he may also be used as a third striker. He has good speed and is great at setting up his teammates. Watch for him to click well with the two forwards here. His achilles heel is his size (or lack thereof), but he overcomes that to the best of his ability by watching how the elves of nations like Valanora and Dorian and Sonya are able to do their thing. Snider’s studious nature has helped him become a complete player, and get him this spot.

Name: Wayne Leffler
Position: CDM
Age: 30
Jersey #: 14
Club Team: Olympia Gladiators
Bio: The oldest player on the team, Leffler sees the game very game well, and his ability to anticipate plays before they happen is quite uncanny. If he had the speed to go with that game-sense, he would be an even higher profile player then he is now, but if he made the national team, he can’t be that bad, can he?

Name: Aaron Huckabee
Position: RM
Age: 19
Jersey #: 10
Club Team: Tundra Falls Mariners
Bio: Possesses everything you could want in a player. Deadly shot, has speed, and is very smart. He’d play up front, but he is best as a winger and used here. Look for him also to be the delivery man on set-pieces. Started in Di Bradini 16 as well.

Name: Michael Couture (***TEAM CAPTAIN ***)
Position: ST
Age: 26
Jersey #: 11
Club Team: Springfield Thoroughbreds
Bio: Old-timers familiar with Rockets teams of the past can associate Springfield with offense, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the Thoroughbreds are continuing to live up to their reputation. Couture broke out about three years ago, scoring 42 goals in a 46 game season, and since then has scored no fewer then 39.

Name: Shane Bartley
Position: ST
Age: 24
Jersey #: 9
Club Team: Tundra Falls Mariners
Bio: When Shane was 6 years of age, he attended the Jeremy McAllister, Jr football camp and told little J-Mac that one day he would play for the national team. Well, his plans were side-tracked by the Empire’s failure to participate in the last two, but now the prolific scorer has lived up to his promise. He wants more though, and figures to be the leading scorer on the team. Note that Aaron Huckabee is his teammate with the Mariners. Be afraid of the potential of this combination.

**** SUBS ****

Name: Danny Marshall
Position: GK
Age: 20
Jersey #: 21
Club Team: South Charlotte Condors
Bio: Danny started for the Rockets in Di Bradini 16 and as the team did not score much in the tournament, he was the main reason the team was able to make it to the quarterfinals. Might not be our starting keeper of the present, but he is considered a hot prospect for the future. His best attributes are his reflexes, and ability to out-think shooters.

Name: Brett Richmond
Position: CB
Age: 19
Jersey #: 8
Club Team: Loudon Leopards
Bio: Defensive defender who will rarely have his name in the paper, but does everything you would want from someone in the back. Seen as a future starter; he started in DBC 16.

Name: Alexander Gilles
Position: CB
Age: 21
Jersey #: 5
Club Team: North Charlotte Wildcats
Bio: A gritty and physical defender, who will make things very difficult on your forwards if they think they can just dribble on by him. He’s also known to take an occasional run on offense if an opportunity presents itself. Also started in Di Bradini 16.

Name: James Burgan
Position: MID
Age: 18
Jersey #: 16
Club Team: South Charlotte Condors
Bio: Agile play-maker. Does what you want someone in this spot on the field to do. He has a great shot, and he is very aware of his surroundings. Likely enters the game in situation when the Rockets need a goal. Started in Di Bradini 16.

Name: Jason Wilcox
Position: MID
Age: 21
Jersey #: 18
Club Team: Jessicaville Tycoons
Bio: Jason is an interesting story, because he is from Amherst, Secristan originally. By now you have heard that Newmanistan has annexed Secristan after that nation went CTE. The Emperor thought it was important to get one player, who’d still be eligible as an uncapped player, to represent the Rockets that was from there in hopes of continuing to make the transition of becoming Newmanistanians easier for those people. Now having said all that, don’t think he’s only here because of that. He’s got a damn good and accurate shot, too.

Name: Edward Robertson
Position: ST
Age: 18
Jersey #: 13
Club Team: Southport Tigers
Bio: Speedy and agile, Robertson is the biggest goal scoring threat on the team. After scoring a goal, instead of celebrating, he will drop to one knee and say a prayer. He dedicates all of his goals to his brother, who is autistic, and donates 10,000 gold coins for every goal he scores to charities for autism. Started in Di Bradini 16.

Name: Kevin Boyle
Position: ST
Age: 18
Jersey #: 15
Club Team: South Tier Seagulls
Bio: Boyle is a great friend of Robertson’s off the pitch and often joins in with his charitable functions since they play for geographically close club teams, and matched Robertson’s donation at the end of the season. Kevin is also speedy and agile, and just as dangerous. He just won’t pray as much. Started in Di Bradini 16.

**** RESERVES ****

Name: Clinton Vassar
Position: GK
Age: 32
Jersey #: 22
Club Team: Hampton Bulldogs
Bio: He’s not the third best keeper in the country, but he was considered the best keeper out of those that coach Tremblay could count on taking this role while not getting a big head and thinking they should be the starter.

Name: Lenny King
Position: CB
Age: 21
Jersey #: 23
Club Team: Dover City Mountaineers
Bio: Started in Di Bradini 16. He’s a gritty, physical defender; but also smart.

Name: Ricky Morrelli
Position: CB/MID
Age: 29
Jersey #: 19
Club Team: Pittstown Miners
Bio: The star of the small market Miners defense, most feel that Ricky has benefitted from playing an otherwise bad team since he is constantly facing chances by the opposition, although opponents attempt to avoid him. His speed also sees him get substantial midfield duty in Pittstown, so while his intention here is to be in the back, it’s not out of the question to possibly see him, if he gets any playing time, in the middle.

Name: Vinnie Prawn
Position: MID
Age: 20
Jersey #: 24
Club Team: Fairfield City Admirals
Bio: A real pain in the you know what to play against. He will try to get under the skin of your best forward, but has the skills to back up his talk. Started in Di Bradini 16.

Name: Antonio Cipriano
Position: ST
Age: 25
Jersey #: 25
Club Team: West Penthoria Marlins
Bio: Being a late bloomer meant that most bigger teams past him up, but the small market Marlins have been rewarded for giving him an opportunity. Antonio has a lot of heart, and wife is an awesome cook, and will provide the team with various meals on road trips.

The Babbage Islands World Cup 54 Roster

Nicknames: Bumblebees, Islanders
Colours: Yellow and black

Manager: Michelle Germaine (Delaclava)
Style: +2
Formation: 4-3-3

A new manager brings change, to be sure. Yet lining up with three forwards was not on anyone's radar for the team that made strikerless formations famous. Anyone, that is, except Michelle Germaine:

"I learned from Ganz Ijak even before I was an assistant to him. Don't be afraid to match the system to the player pool. When we played the 4-6-0 here we had extraordinary midfielders who fit perfectly in that style. This group is very strong at forward and on the back line. The 4-3-3 will showcase this."

Keepers

1: Elizabeth Hanna 26 K 42/0 Dover City
13: Bill Shelton 33 K 0/0 Belgium FC

Hanna is a seasoned international with extensive top-level experience. She's also still young enough to have a decade or more in front of her. Shelton has made the most of his last few seasons after backing up Allison Salamida for much of his career.

Defenders

3: Jerry Kirkpatrick (capt.) 32 D 96/6 Dunboor FC (Cafundéu)
4: Ronald Dennis 26 D 65/4 OGC Nancy
5: Caitlyn Ballantyne 27 D 0/0 Ranca Toco (Cafundéu)
2: Chloe Morris 25 D 25/3 OGC Nancy

23: Arnfinnur Valbjörnsson 25 D 0/0 Dover City Mountaineers (Newmanistan)
12: Anatolij Karamzin 30 D 0/0 Bloomfield National
14: Sūl Nam-gīn 27 D 14/0 Dover City
22: Martin Cohen 32 D 0/0 Baden 98
16: Nicole Curtis 26 D 3/0 Gernsback United

The Babbage defence have quietly evolved into a powerful force. Although the Bumblebees always enjoyed a reputation for attack under former manager Ganz Ijak, Kirkpatrick has long been considered one of the world's top defenders. He is widely regarded as the prime mover in assembling the other starters, OGC Nancy's Dennis and Morris and former Sportgirls international Ballantyne.

Midfielders

11: Veronika Hennicke 26 M 86/23 Greenville Rovers
6: Skarphéðinn Grímsson (vc) 26 M 14/2 Volerander FC (Swartaz)
7: Tad Hollister 26 M 29/5 Firewood City (Osarius)

17: Neil Butler 26 M 14/1 Belgium FC
23: Jóhanna Arnljótsdóttir 24 M 0/0 Viktoria Baden
21: Jayden Cook 28 M 27/6 Bloomfield National
20: Þorgeir Jónasson 26 M 7/0 Cardiff FC

This Bumblebee midfield may no longer be packed with legends, but it still boasts two experienced wingers in Hennicke and Hollister and a highly-regarded playmaker in Skarphéðinn (Skarp, as he is popularly known). Between Tegan Nash's retirement from international play and Kelli Alder's nagging injuries, a significant load has been placed on this central three.

Expect Hennicke to be the first choice shooter for penalties and Skarp to take most corners.

Forwards

9: Jason Olson 29 F 58/28 Clube Comercial (Cafundéu)
8: Bethany Martin 24 F 24/16 Hastmead Diamante (Osarius)
10: Glen Svoboda 18 F 13/10 Dover City

15: Bertrand Duval 23 F 0/0 Sparta (Cotdelapoms)
19: Kristine Lindquist 23 F 3/0 West Penthoria Marlins (Newmanistan)

One testament to the expanded riches of Babbage player development is the national team's transition at forward. For a number of years the Bumblebees famously played the 4-6-0 formation with no striker at all. Olson is a veteran of those days, and he has shown an uncommon ability to adapt to whatever is asked of him. On this squad he's back at centre forward with two other gifted scorers joining him up front in a 4-3-3.

If you want to start a passionate discussion in a Babbage sports bar, ask which young striker is best: Martin, Svoboda, or Duval. They all have a following. Each enjoys name recognition from off-pitch factors as well. Martin was a one-time runner-up for Miss Babbage Islands, Svoboda was the oldest child of a Hall of Fame father, and Duval was decorated as a Scout for saving three lives in a boating accident. Martin, Duval, and the oft-overlooked Kristine Lindquist recently accepted lucrative overseas deals. (It's hard to overlook a six-seven woman for long.)

Official Press Release

World Cup 54 Squad

Your friends at the Kagdazka and Pazhujebu Football Association are pleased to bring you the following; the 23-player roster of the Kagdazka and Pazhujebu national football team for World Cup 54 qualifying. Selected by manager Baba Yaga, the players on this team come from an unprecedented fifteen different club sides, reflecting the across-the-board progress that football is making in the Federation.

The shape of the national team is changing as the shape of the KPFA League First Division changes. The only club that lends more than two of its players to this squad is the recently-crowned champion Juvapanam, and even then they only send three, being a previously trophy-less side.

Despite its success, Kagdazka and Pazhujebu's Cup of Harmony team has been largely dismantled. Seven players will make their national team debuts within this side, among them youngsters Fušia Oujadda, Baltabek Ignatyev, and Peregrina Thašighi, as well as a couple experienced veterans in Bolov Narozhylenko and Zlatko Zedafski.

Sadly, the team below, as readers will notice, does not contain defensive midfielder Fidesta Qiva. The 35-year-old once-captain of the Wisteria and Green/Sea Urchins has announced his retirement from international football. He will play one final season with his club Zhevassi, but with much grief we must admit to ourselves that he will be a mere spectator as the Federation sets out in pursuit of its first World Cup finals qualification. A major debate throughout the process of qualifying will be which player should replace Qiva as captain.

Manager

Baba Yaga - 2,149 Years Old

An ancient witch who has lurked in the shadows of Eastern European folklore for millennia, Baba Yaga elbowed her way into the manager's chair with the Federation national team by threatening to eat Kagdaz national heroine Vasilisa the Beautiful. Considered evil by some but respected for her wisdom by all, the old hag is a complex figure with extraordinary leadership ability and controversial but creative tactical ingenuity.

Starting XI

#1 - GK - Zubeida Ichuvihaja - Image - 23 Years Old - 35 Caps - Cross SC (Zarbli) W
Appearance: Tall, lanky, very light brown skin, short and messy black hair, dark purplish-blue eyes
Specialties: 1 on 1 situations, penalties, positioning
Grade: A

An unflappable player who relies on her calm positioning skills rather than acrobatics; the least aggressive of this team's keepers. She began her career at the derelict Pazhujebi club K'arasi, but then vaulted her way into the national team's starting lineup with her superb play at Kagdaz club Krevetka. Her play earned her a contract with Zarblese Duke League club Cross, where she has started for the Templar Castle side for two straight seasons.

#2 - DF - Jahat Chahachim - Image - 23 Years Old - 5 Caps - Juvapanam
Appearance: Average height, average build, dark brown skin, textured greasy black hair, jawline beard
Specialties: Crossing, dribbling
Grade: A

A technically gifted passer and crosser, he really resembles a midfielder than a defender in most respects. The right back has spent his whole career at club Juvapanam (where his father Šudhan is the manager), recently crowned champions of the First Division. There he has built a partnership with Šušan'ikara Ghur and Fušia Oujadda, two midfielders he will regularly push forward to rendezvous with in attack.

#11 - DF - Plamen Radic - Image - 34 Years Old - 14 Caps - FKM
Appearance: Average height, stocky, white skin, black crewcut hair, stubble, green eyes
Specialties: Work rate
Grade: B

A member of the 'Old Guard' of Kagdaz football, he is nearing the end of a successful career. Having spent all his playing years with giant club FKM, he can boast phenomenal industry and reasonable distributive ability. But as he ages, his tackling skill (which has never been terrible but has also never been amazing) is waning, and the natural right back will be asked to play at left back for this squad until Innokentiy Vaskaryev returns from injury.

#21 - DF - Aqhorassia Bhara - Image - 20 Years Old - Uncapped - Urajbina W
Appearance: Short, skinny, light brown skin, black corn rows, purplish-indigo tattoos all over both arms
Specialties: Work rate, pace
Grade: D

General wisdom is that she doesn't belong anywhere near this team, but Baba Yaga sees something in this feisty, pint-sized centre half. Her positioning is poor, her tackling inaccurate, and her heading ability non-existent. But her play for the national team has actually turned out to be quite consistent when she has been asked to fill in for injured starters, as she is at current moment for Timriz. So far, at least.

#6 - DF - Ryurik Mizirov - Image - 22 Years Old - 29 Caps - A.F.F. (Cafundéu)
Appearance: Tall, heavyset, white skin, brown faux hawk with reddish-purple highlights, clean-shaven
Specialties: Heading, tackling
Grade: B

This gigantic centre half enjoyed a great year with Yastrabi in 5241 before transferring to Vulkan. But there, he flopped; fans, commentators, and opponents wrote him off. But within the last year he has resurrected himself, roaring back into form for both club and country. He was a standout performer in the 45th Cup of Harmony as an injury replacement for Zaqazha Uharhi, and has now made a huge move to A.F.F. of Cafundéu.

#3 - DF - Innokentiy Vaskaryev - Image - 27 Years Old - 35 Caps - Urnabhi
Appearance: Short, average build, white skin, platinum blonde Ivy League haircut, large tattoo on left side of neck
Specialties: Tackling, pace
Grade: A

One of the most dynamic players on the team; a lightning-fast sprinter and a ruthless but efficient tackler. The left back found his way into the starting lineup of the national team at a relatively young age on the back of his brilliant performances for Kagdaz juggernaut FKM, and has maintained his spot following a shocking transfer to the tiny Pazhujebi club Urnabhi. The small but muscular defender will be expected to assist in attack.

#8 - MF - Misha Spiridonov - Image - 36 Years Old - 2 Caps - Cross SC (Zarbli)
Appearance: Tall, average build, white skin, shaggy medium-length mouse brown hair, round and innocent face
Specialties: Composure, tackling
Grade: C

A defensive midfielder rarely seen without a grin on his still-youthful face, he once was the engine of the Kagdaz national team's spine, but after the merger, Fidesta Qiva stole his spotlight. Now that the latter has retired, he gets his chance. However, at the club level he has been struggling, and a startling transfer away from Angels that joins him with Ichuvihaja at Cross is a last ditch attempt to resurrect what's left of his career.

#4 - MF - Fušia Oujadda - Image - 18 Years Old - Uncapped - Ranca Toco (Cafundéu) W
Appearance: Short, stocky, very dark brown skin, shaved head, dark brown eyes, bright sky blue boots
Specialties: Pace, chance creation, dribbling
Grade: A

Her father once played for the Pazhujeb Islands, but she still came out of nowhere. Last season at Juvapanam, this right winger blasted her way into the national team with her pace and explosiveness. A midfielder in name only, her role at Juvapanam was really more far-right-side striker, as it will be here. She is the only African player in the squad. Her astonishing form has earned her a gigantic contract with Cafundelense giants Ranca Toco.

#7 - MF - Lazar Nikolic - Image - 33 Years Old - 33 Caps - Gimnasia
Appearance: Average height, average build, white skin, long 70s-style brown hair, grayish-green eyes
Specialties: Shot power, crossing, work rate
Grade: A

A very hot-tempered right midfielder who has been asked to play on the left side of the pitch for World Cup qualifying. He has played the role before, but it was before he moved to his current club, Gimnasia. He will use the opportunity to frequently cut inside and unleash long-distance shots on his stronger right foot. As long as he can avoid any altercations with referees, he'll be a major threat to the Federation's opponents.

#10 - MF - Šušan'ikara Ghur - Image - 39 Years Old - 10 Caps - Juvapanam TC
Appearance: Short, lean build, dark brown skin, buzzed short gray hair, neat gray goatee, some facial wrinkles
Specialties: Vision, chance creation, set pieces
Grade: A

Known as Grandpa to teammates, this attacking midfielder just doesn't look like ever retiring, and why should he when he's just come off the best season of his very lengthy career? Barely mobile, but technically astounding, he will hover just on the edge of the opponent's third and pester defenses with frighteningly accurate passing and shooting. His endurance is lacking, though, and often he'll be substituted out in the second half.

#9 - FW - Chaya Vuhumkara - Image - 34 Years Old - 30 Caps - Zhevassi
Appearance: Below average height, average build, light brown skin, spiky medium length black hair
Specialties: Dribbling, shot power, finishing
Grade: A

A product of the Angels youth system, recipient of global renown at FKM, and now with giants Zhevassi. Despite his poor attitude and penchant for obtaining sendings-off, he is a quintessential striker. A brilliant finisher, he relishes opportunities to test goalkeepers when he works himself space in front of goal. He is not as skilled with the ball in the air than at his feet, but the Federation isn't really built to feed him via the cross anyway.

Substitutes

#16 - GK - Anton Denisov - Image - 33 Years Old - 2 Caps - Xenon
Specialties: Box command, diving, charging
Grade: B

A wizened veteran, he has not always maintained full health, with a couple injuries marring recent seasons for his club Xenon. But when he is healthy, he is very charismatic and very aggressive; a great substitute keeper.

#23 - GK - Baltabek Ignatyev - Image - 19 Years Old - Uncapped - Shadows
Specialties: Charging, reflexes, wingspan
Grade: C

The best keeper in the First Division last season, he is tall and cocky. His cat-like reflexes largely made Shadows' goal a no-mans-land. However, he is still young and overconfident; Ichuvihaja and Denisov will be his mentors.

#13 - MF - Vasilisa the Beautiful - Image - 30 Years Old - 15 Caps - Zhevassi W
Specialties: Chance creation, composure
Grade: B

As a 16-year-old, Vasilisa wrote herself into legend with her visit to Baba Yaga's hut. Now she has become a footballer, and a pioneer at that, the first woman to play for the national team (but as one can see, not the last).

#15 - MF - Aquillius Razava - Image - 28 Years Old - Uncapped - Therakham
Specialties: Crossing, work rate
Grade: C

In terms of skill set, this Therakham right winger's similarity to Nikolic has always kept him out of the national team. Now that the latter has been moved to the left, he can step in. His crosses have excellent bend on them.

#17 - MF - Slava Semënov - Image - 34 Years Old - 19 Caps - Krevetka
Specialties: Set pieces, vision
Grade: B

No question; a seminal talent. However, every time anyone thinks he is stamping his authority as the best left midfielder in the Federation, he decides to have a terrible year. He just did, and it's cost him his starting place.

#19 - MF - Peregrina Thašighi - Image - 20 Years Old - Uncapped - Xenon W
Specialties: Dribbling
Grade: C

Easily better known for her nude modeling than her footballing, but we forget that it was football that first made this stunningly pretty left winger famous. Yes, her cleavage is great to watch, but so is her one on one ability.

#12 - FW - Zlatko Zedafski - Image - 34 Years Old - Uncapped - Étoile Rouge (Cotdelapoms)
Specialties: Poaching, heading
Grade: B

After his tantrums at Angels, they said this target man would never make the national team. But in the years he's spent abroad, he's cleaned up his act, now one of the most decorated foreigners in the Cotdelapomais Série A.

#14 - FW - Charha Chadi - Image - 26 Years Old - 14 Caps - Urajbina
Specialties: Shot power, dribbling
Grade: A

Somehow both lightning and thunder, he tore the First Division to pieces last year. His play surely merited a call up, and arguably a starting place. He's gotten the former but not the latter. Could be a major super-sub, though.

#18 - FW - Anastasia Khorkuleva - Image - 20 Years Old - 25 Caps - Therakham W
Specialties: Vision, pace, finishing
Grade: B

It's easy to forget how young this dynamic striker is, at the age of 20 she's already earned 25 caps. No surprise, though, when you notice how extraordinarily intelligent she is; always in the right place at the right time.

#20 - FW - Leo Shcherbina - Image - 21 Years Old - 18 Caps - Vulkan
Specialties: Chance creation, work rate
Grade: C

Once considered to be the wonder kid of Kagdaz football, but problems recovering from a ligament injury have taken the blistering pace out of his game. His work rate is still great, though, and his support play has improved.

#22 - FW - Bolov Narozhylenko - Image - 28 Years Old - Uncapped - São Jorge (Cafundéu)
Specialties: Pace, work rate, shot power
Grade: B

This short and stocky veteran striker hadn't before caught the eyes Baba Yaga. But last year his explosiveness in front of goal put him on the map. Along with Vaskaryev, he is perhaps the fastest player on the team.

Out Injured

#5 - DF - Boris Timriz - Image - 33 Years Old - 36 Caps - Therakham
Appearance: Tall, lanky, white skin, very short sandy blonde hair, scruffy beard, knee tape
Specialties: Set pieces, heading
Grade: A

Formerly the property of Meteoriti, four years ago he signed a lucrative contract with Angels in hopes of winning a First Division title. The four years he spent there were a total disaster, as the club's fortune's sunk like a rock in a pond. But he kept his form strong and has recently signed a lucrative deal with Mahathu's up and coming Therakham ZL. Highly valued by Baba Yaga, he has obtained more national team caps than any other player.
TIMRIZ IS OUT FOR THE ENTIRE WORLD CUP

Major Stories

We here at the KPFA have to admit that the squad has been totally overhauled, but we trust Baba Yaga in her project. It has required her to make some cuts, however. Among the omissions, this side will not include Yegor Zbruyev, Zaqazha Uharhi, Aleksei Vazavorski, Vsevolod Ogorodov, Athaši Hu, Sergei Aznabaev, Igor Omelchenko, or Demyan Ilych. Yes, some of these non-selections have drawn criticism. Partisans can be forgiven for wanting to see their favorite players, as the case was always going to be with players from large clubs (like Vazavorski, Hu, or Omelchenko), and media talking heads can be forgiven for wanting to see in-form players (like Uharhi, Ogorodov, or Aznabaev) called up. But please let's not forget, Baba Yaga is trying to build a cohesive squad unit here with good morale. If a player's attitude isn't quite right, it doesn't matter what club he or she plays for or what form he or she is in. Again, we trust Baba Yaga.

As had been speculated would happen for much of the 5244 First Division season, for the first time in fifteen years, Šušan'ikara Ghur will be returning to the starting lineup of his national team. The last time he was there, his name was spelled differently and he played for Ranca Toco in Cafundéu. We can't deny him this; not after the absolutely magnificent season he's had, leading Juvapanam to the First Division title. But can he hold up to the rigors of international play at the ripe old age of thirty-nine? If something goes wrong, Vasilisa and Semënov are ready to hop in.

And how about Zlatko Zedafski?! By his own admission a sworn enemy of everything about the national team, he left for Cotdelapoms in a huff three years ago, leaving Angels in tatters behind him. We all said, "it's just about the money, he doesn't give a toss." But look, he's only gone and resurrected himself, changed his attitude, become an absolutely vital player for the red-and-white-clad club Étoile Rouge, and now agreed to a selection to the Federation's national team! What a story! But will things change back when he actually enters the dressing room? Remember, he had a very public falling-out with Charha Chadi while they were both at Angels (reportedly several fistfights occurred), and neither of the two have apologized. Well, now they'll be right next to each other in training again. What's going to happen?

Kits

Image

There are three main kits used by the Kagdazka and Pazhujebu national team: two homes and one away. The wisteria and green colors are used when the team plays in Kagdazka, whereas the purple and black is used when they visit Pazhujebu. The white and wisteria is used for away matches. During neutral venue tournaments, like the World Cup, the team rotates between the three kits.

Tactics

Style Modifier
-1

One glance at the squad list for this national team tells you a lot about the unusual strategy that Baba Yaga is about to employ. A highly defensive 5-4-1 formation will start Kagdazka and Pazhujebu off in games, but the substitutes' bench has five strikers, four midfielders, and just one defender. What does this all mean? What it means is some quite unique tactical skullduggery is about to go down...

The manager rarely offers any interviews, but she has hinted to sources within the KPFA that her strategy is to make her team extremely difficult to break down in the first halves of games. Negativity will rule the day in the first forty-five minutes of most Federation matches. But in the second halves of games, Baba Yaga plans to make highly positive attacking substitutions, regardless of whether her team is ahead, behind, or level. This is why despite Kagdazka and Pazhujebu's very defensive formation, the style modifier is only negative one.

To recap this: Kagdazka and Pazhujebu will score very few goals in the first halves of games, but make very attacking substitutions, and score more goals in the second halves of games. Again, even if the Federation is leading, they will do this. In short, the strategy is: 'the best defense is a good offense, unless of course it's the first half in which case the best defense is a good defense...' Whatever, you get the idea.

Stadia

Image = Stadium is in Kagdazka
Image = Stadium is in Pazhujebu

Graha’ajat Stidiyama - Capacity: 79,000 - Image

The home field of Zhevassi ZL, this stadium is nestled up in the misty hills east of the town and is made mostly from wood but meticulously decorated from pitch to stand to roof to entrance with soapstone sculptures, many of which are massive and built into the architecture. In Pazhujebi, the name of the stadium means "Stadium of the Planet," which tells a layman the sort of pride residents of the small Zahuj Peninsula town have in this grand park and in their club side. Visitors will enjoy themselves, but should be warned: they will get wet... it rains a lot.

Banditi Zaliv Stadion - Capacity: 40,000 - Image

If you decide to go to a match at this stadium, don't be off-put by the neighborhood you have to walk through to get there. Yes, it's nestled into a corner of the Kagdaz port city Oktyabrsk, in a part of town near the new shipping docks; there are no five-star hotels or swanky restaurants for blocks in every direction (though there is a brewery). Luckily, the stadium itself (where Krevetka plays) is strange but iconic: it has a cheerful cyan-detailed retractable roof and no stand on the side that faces the bay. The pitch runs right up to the icy sea.

Oberlander'ajat Stidiyama - Capacity: 41,000 - Image

Though it pales in comparison to the size of other stadia in the Pazhujeb Islands, this stadium (named after Starblaydi legend Jaime Oberlander) is one of the most beloved in the entire country. Nestled into an ancient neighborhood in Urajbina, the stadium was once a Roman-style coliseum and is now home to club tenants Urajbina ZL. The stands are mostly made of stone, but an elaborate draping system all around the exterior and interior of the stadium gives it the appearance of being made wholly of gold, red, and blue fabric.

Avazhughij Arena - Capacity: 47,000 - Image

As residents of the city of Pkethat Šede on Šede Island travel south into the impenetrable purple-and-green-tinted jungle in the interior of the island, they are bound to see Avazhughij Arena, home of Šede Island Shadows, rising out of the undergrowth. It almost looks simply like a huge glass wall, as only one stand is visible from beneath the cover of leaves and violet Šede fruit blossoms. The stadium is quite newly built, paid for by corporate money; verily, Avazhughij is a local timber company that purchased naming rights to the field.

The Ice Cube - Capacity: 81,000 - Image

It isn't that hard to figure out why this stadium is known as the Ice Cube. A cubic glass design on the outside of the stadium mirrors the architectural styles of its city, Dyurtyuli, nicknamed the City of Ice. The venue is the home of both Angels and Yastrabi and is the largest in the country. However, visitors should beware that Dyurtyuli is not only called the City of Ice because of its glass buildings, it is also bitterly cold all the time. Luckily, the Cube has heating systems near the pitch, so players don't suffer too much. Fans, though...

Out of Character Stuff

1. I'm going to be working on an unusual set of RPs that will probably not delve too much into the on-field events of my team. That means that you, my opponent, get to use all the information I've just offered here! Go nuts! Select my goalscorers! Book my players (even a red or two is fine)! Have my players get in a fight with each other! Have the referee show up drunk! Have my players get into naughty sexual escapades with your players! I'm game. I ask only one thing: no injuries. If any of my players get hurt, I would like to RP that.

2. Please, please, please, read my NSwiki article. I've worked really hard on it and mostly kept it well maintained. I'm delighted when I can tell that someone actually takes five minutes to do some research. I'm not so delighted when I hear made-up demonyms like 'Kagdazkan' or 'Pazhujebuan.' Which brings me to...

3. The proper demonym for a person or thing from Kagdazka is 'Kagdaz.' The proper demonym for a person or thing from Pazhujebu is 'Pazhujebi.' The two countries are VERY separate, connected only politically, NOT culturally and CERTAINLY not geographically. Again, there's lot's of reading material over here.

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:

Choose my goalscorers? Y
Godmod scoring events? Y
RP injuries to my players? N
Godmod injuries to my players? N
Hand out yellow cards to my players? Y
Hand out red cards to my players? Y
Godmod other events? TG me about anything major, but probably Y

Team: ‘Bears Armed (Mainland)’, alias "The Bear-Belles"..

Please note that for this tournament, once again, this is a “unified” team that represents all of ‘Bears Armed’ once again.

Yes, this is still an all-female team. As I’ve explained before, this is because the main ball-game that's traditionally been played in Bears Armed is actually a form of Rugby, but [for several reasons] the professional league for that sport is all-male and so some of the female players decided that switching to Soccer — and trying to establish a professional league for that sport for themselves instead — might be a viable alternative: They were right, because that professional league was founded shortly after WC44 and so has now been in operation for almost forty years.

Yes, we’re starting with a rather LARGE squad, but I’ll be reducing its size as events progress: The ‘core’ team is pretty much chosen already — or rather the core teams are, because despite the “merger” we are essentially starting with a ‘Mainland’ squad & a ‘Northlands’ one so that the starting line-up for whichever matches get played at NorthPort will be different from the one used at Wimbley (with line-ups for the ‘away’ games normally the same as for the ‘home’ ones against the same opponents) — but we hope to give most if not all of the substitutes & reserves at least a bit of playing time each during the various friendly matches and two other ‘Cups’ in which the Belles will be participating during the qualifiers so that we can see how well they do under those conditions.

According to the timeline for this nation, the qualifiers for WC52 are starting in 2047AD ([OOC] Yes, I do realise that that’s several years earlier than the date that I gave you in my roster post for the previous World Cup: I’ve just re-checked the Bears’ timeline, and this is definitely the correct date this time around…[/OOC]). The figures given here for people’s ages & lengths of experience should therefore be increased by 1 year for the second half of the qualifiers (i.e. the ‘Inter-Zonals’) (If we get through to those…)) and then by another year for either the ‘World Cup itself (iDitto…) or the ‘Cup of Harmony’…
People whose ages are marked with an asterisk in these notes are amongst those who were [mysteriously] “rejuvenated” back in 2042, while lost on the way to DBC15.

All of the players are actual Ursines (i.e. anthropomorpic, bipedal Bears), except those whom I actually specify as being members of other ‘peoples’ instead. The Harr'aynau people are physically human (more-or-less, anyway, although inclined towards heavy builds & hairiness), but spiritually & culturally Ursine instead.

National football organisation: ‘Bears Armed Association for Soccer’ (= ‘BAAS’).
(Chairbear: Harroya ‘of the Rovers’ o Redwood [Chairbear of Merlchester Rovers S.C.; previously Captain of the Bear-Belles for some years.])
National anthem: ‘Peace’.

Staff

Manager & Chief Coach: Marra SunDaughter (female Ursine, a member of the ‘Sun Clan’; played in BoF31 & WC44, as the usual starter at ‘Left Forward’ and the team’s Captain, scoring a good proportion of the Belles’ goals’, and was also captain of her home team the 'Sun Valley Smashers’, but subsequently had to retire from active play due to a crippling injury to her right leg; involved in coaching her home team since then, and ‘Deputy Chief Coach for the national team during WC45; became Chief Coach for WC46, retaining that job when the ‘Bear-Belles’ became the “national” team of the ‘Mainland’ alone from WC47 onwards and became Manager as well after WC49; Soccer experience =10 years as a player, now in her 37th year as a full-time coach; official age = 67* but now looks & moves more as though she’s back in her 20s or early 30s instead, left-pawed, fur = golden-brown, good eyesight even by human [rather than Ursine] standards... She played in 2042’s Queen’s Cup and the following year’s Draggonnii Inviyatii, as well as managing the Belles during both of those contests, but then reverted to a purely off-the-field role once again…)

First-Deputy Manager & Chief Coach: Sunnarra o Redwood (female Ursine from Clan Redwood, formerly played for 'Heroes' Park Harlequins’ and for 28 years for the BearBelles too as a Defender/Midfielder [ usual position = ‘Lynchpin’], promoted to this job in between the qualifiers & Cup proper for WC53; age = 42, right-pawed, fur = light brown; quite fast; has a degree in Military Science. Sunnarra made her ‘international’ debut in Oxen Cup 11, although she wasn’t then selected for a World Cup squad until WC48...)

Deputy Manager & Chief Coach: Errmintrra o RedSun _ Clan = Red Sun [Free Sept]; played as Striker or Winger [usual position = Right Forward] for ‘NorthPort Navigators’ for 26 years; she actually made her ‘international’ debut as a reserve in the “undivided” ‘Bears Armed’ team for the ‘WC46’ cycle, as its first ever recruit from within the Northlands League’, and remained with them after that for both ‘Oxen Cup11’ & ‘WC47’ then became Captain of the ’NorthBears’ instead; doubled as that team’s ‘Attacking Coach’ for the ‘Cup of Harmony’ in the WC51 cycle, and retired from playing to take up the job of Deputy Manager for the reunified national team instead shortly after the decision to re-merge the two teams had been taken; played for the Bear-Belles in the Draggonnii Inviyatii of 2043, player-manager of the NorthBears again for their revival during WC53; official age = 50* but now looks more as though she’s back in her 20s or early 30s, right-pawed, fur = light reddish-brown, above-average eyesight.
She will play (at Centre Forward, as #77, & Captain) in the “NorthPort” line-up.

Deputy Manager (Admin): Urradarra o SwanWater (female Ursine, from Clan GreenWoods; formerly Deputy Manager of the Heroes’ Park Harlequins, and more recently a staff member at BAMAS [as it then was], originally appointed to this job for ‘Oxen Cup 14’; age = 40, fur = medium-brown & quite long [but fashionably so…], left-pawed).

Deputy Coaches _
Goalkeeping:
Bella DeBruin _ Clan = WestWoods, Goalkeeper, had a lengthy & successful career as a goalkeeper for 'Wiston United' (“What a pity their attack wasn’t as good…”), made her international debut for the Bear-Belles in the qualifiers for WC47 & remained in their active roster right through to the end of their participation in WC50 when she was selected for this job instead; playing experience = 31 years then, plus parts of 2042 & 2043; age = officially 49* but now looks & moves more as though she’s back in her 20s or early 30s, left-pawed, fur = dark brown.

Goalkeeping/Defence: Emma o RedSun _ Clan = RedSun [‘Free Sept’]; plays for = ‘Snowspire’ (Sorthern Northland), category & usual position = Goalkeeper, experience = 24 years as player + 10 years as coach; age = officially 49* but now physically as if back in her mid-20s, right-pawed, fur = reddish-brown; of proven ability, actually made her ‘international’ debut as a reserve in the “undivided” ‘Bears Armed’ team for the ‘WC47’ cycle but was transferred to the NorthBears as soon as those were established separately and played for them until the end of the Cup of Harmony following WC51; subsequently retired from playing, to help coach the nation’s “unified”U21 team, and was amongst the people who were mysteriously “rejuvenated” when they got lost on the way to DBC15 but has not returned to playing at the national level since then.

Defending: Jerrane o Grey _ Clan = GreyBear; with 24 years of experience as a professional footballer for various Clubs (most recently ‘Kabano Zepelin’ (‘Somewhereistonia’)) as a good all-round Defender & Midfielder, and having played as one of the ‘Bear-Belles’ from ‘Oxen Cup10’ until they were eliminated from WC50, she has now been spent 9 years as a [full-time] coach with one year during that period when she briefly returned to playing as well; age = officially 52* but now looks more as though she’s back in her 20s, right-pawed, fur = ash-blonde, good eyesight, used to be a bit hot-tempered at times but mellowed with age… and has not reverted fully to her earlier impulsiveness being rejuvenated.

Attacking: Elga ‘the Leopardess’ Lightning _ Clan = Gunnar, spent 29 years with ‘PassPort Athletic’ as a Midfielder/Forward ( preferred position = Midfield Centre or Midfield Right or Right Forward) and was a player with the Bear-Belles too from DBC9 to the end of WC50 after which she was selected for this coaching job — although she spent parts of 2042 & 2043 combining that with playing again — instead; age = officially 47* but now looks more as though she’s back in her early 20s, right-pawed, fur = light brown; very keen eyesight, not as heavily built as most other Ursines, very agile & quite fast on her feet.

Doctor: Mitzi von und zu Steiffen (female Ursine, from Clan Kettar-Surra; age = officially 48*, left-pawed, fur = light brown.)

Physio: Gerrthra o Barrdenn (female Ursine, from Clan GreenWoods; age = officially 47*, left-pawed, fur = dark brown.)

Routemaster: Lieutenant-Colonel Harron o Harrha (male Ursine, from Clan BerryGlades and the Confederal Army’s General Staff Corps; age = officially 45*, left-pawed, fur = dark-medium brown & cut quite short: just appointed to the job, which involves handling all of the squad’s travelling arrangements.)

Security Chief: Urrthra MoonShadow (female Ursine, Silver-of-Night Clan; she is a ‘shabear’...), who doubles as the team’s ‘One Plus Seven’ chaplain.

“Mascot”: ‘The Wise Grorrfinn’ (male ‘TrueBear’; age = undisclosed [but considering some of his appearances in old stories apparently somewhere over 1’500, at least...], ambidextrous, fur = medium-brown).

Roster

(#1) Karramarsar Darra _ Clan = Ostbora, home team = ‘Stonengarten UH’ (Andossa Se Mitrin Vega), category & usual position = Goalkeeper, 35 years experience of Soccer; age = 48, right-pawed, fur = light brown, has good eyesight, very nimble; had a very good record in ''League' play before moving abroad. (She made her 'international' debut in Oxen Cup 12.)
(#15) Urrathanna o BerryGlades _ Clan = BerryGlades; home team = Barrdenn Barbariennes, category & usual position = goalkeeper, experience = 15 years; age = 28, left-pawed, fur = medium-brown; promising as a youngster, when she still had some growing to do, she is now fully-grown at 7’1” tall and still has a definite knack for getting to shots that look as though they should be out of her reach. (Oxen Cup 13 was her international debut: She played as the Belles’ starting goalkeeper during their first qualifying match of WC53, when she let in three goals before being replaced, but her League performance in the following years was good enough to win her another chance.)
(#30) Rosa o SnowWhite _ Clan = SnowWhite [‘Free Sept’], home team = ‘Stonengarten UH’ (‘Andossa Se Mitrin Vega’) (acquired by them from ‘NorthGate Nomads’, who are one of BA’s professional teams although perhaps not quite of the first rank), experience = 17 years; age = 30, right-pawed, fur = ash-blonde, ancestry = ‘brown bear’. (She played internationally as one of the ‘NorthBears’ before the latest merger.)
(# 32): Goalkeeper _ Arrabarra o WehrthHwued _ Clan = Errhabarra; Home team = , usual position = Goalkeeper, experience = 9 years; age = 26 years, left-pawed, fur = light-medium brown. (She was supposed to be in B.A.’s “united” team for DBC15, last year as we reckon matters, but was on the plane that got lost on the way there so that WC53 — playing for the ‘NorthBears’ — was her international debut instead.)
(#45) Theoderintha Urra Sighrehda’s-darthhrurr _ Clan = Marrl-Thuleann (in the Northlands), home team = Karne Konquerors, category & usual position = Goalkeeper, experience = 5 years; age = 18, left-pawed, fur = white. (Polar Bear ancestry), tall but not too heavily-built to be relatively fast… (DBC16 was her international debut.)

(#2) Beorra Marra o Barrdenn _ Clan = GreenWoods; current team = ‘Lemanskigrad United’ (Albundania) (joined ‘Barrdenn Bruinettes’ [the Barbariennes’ [/i]Junior League counterpart] at the age of 13 and transferred to the main team four years later, but wasn’t yet a regular member of its ‘starting’ roster when her transfer abroad occurred two years after that…), category = Defender, normal position = Left Back (but could also play well as a ‘Centre-Back’, or as a ‘Defensive Centre’…); age = 36, height = 7’2”, fur = dark-medium brown, left-pawed; (She made her ‘international debut’ in ‘Eternal Flame 3’…).
She was named after a clan-mate & distant cousin, the ‘Beorra o Barrdenn’ who not only had a distinguished career with the Barbariennes but served as Centre Forward in the original line-up of the ‘Bear-Belles’ too. Fast on her feet, and now almost as big & strong as ‘The Locomotive’ was at her peak... but she’s not quite as impulsive as her namesake was.
(#3) Urrsirha _ Clan = Chargh’ghrarr; home team = Merlchester Rovers, category = Defender, usual position = Right Back, experience = 21 years; age = 35, left-pawed, fur = medium brown ; ‘CaveBear’ ancestry, so BIG… (WWC12 was her ‘international’ debut.)
(#16) Marra o Eastdale_ Clan = BerryGlades; home team = Kingly City, category = Defender, usual position = Left Back, experience = 22 years; age = 37, left-pawed, fur = dark-medium brown. (She made her ‘international’ debut in ‘Eternal Flame 3’.)
(#17) Arranarra o Harruorr _ Clan = Harruorr Erruur, home team = Heroes’ Park Harlequins, category =Defender, usual position = Right Back, Soccer experience = 13 years; age = 26, right-pawed, fur = medium brown. (She made her ‘international’ debut in DBC 14.)
(#33) Hergha Grimmr-o-DarkDale _ Clan = Thuleann; home team = Bhrorskerll Barbariennes, category = Defender, usual position = Right Back, experience = 10 years; age = 26, right-pawed, fur = dark brown; a very promising youngster. (WC53 — playing for the ‘NorthBears’ — was her international debut.)
(#46) Beorra BigBear _ Clan = GreenWoods; Home team = Barrdenn Barbariennes, category = Defender, usual position = Right Back, experience = 8 years; age = 20 years, right-pawed, fur = dark-medium brown. (She made her international debut as a member of the smaller-than-planned team that Bears Armed sent to DBC15.)
(#47) Beorranna-Sarra o Daybreak _ Clan = Urrset, home team = Confederal Engineers, category = Defender, preferred position = Left Back, experience = 5 years; age = 11, left-pawed, fur = reddish-brown & trimmed quite short. (DBC16 was her international debut.)
(#50) Christina o Marrnen _ Clan = WestWoods, home team = Wiston Wanderers, category = Defender or Midfielder, preferred position = Right Back or Midfield Right, experience = 4 years; age = 20, right-pawed, fur = dark-medium brown & relatively (stylishly) long; shows great promise as a footballer, but sometimes loses concentration; ‘Roman Catholic [ Nova Assisi]’ Christian. (DBC16 was her international debut.)

(#4) Urra ‘Honey’ SunBlesséd _ Clan = Sun, home team = ‘Sun Valley Smashers’, category = Midfielder/Defender, usual position = Defensive Centre, Soccer experience = 44 years, and she has been in the national team since BoF31; age = 61 (but, although not amongst the people who were “rejuvenated” in 2042, she still seems quite ‘young’ both physically and mentally…), right-pawed, fur = ‘honey-brown’, very good eyesight even by human (rather than Ursine) standards. She is a very accurate kicker, and therefore one of the usual first choices for taking free kicks & penalties. Her nickname comes from her fur-colour, and her very sweet nature: Originally it was also because (as we must admit…) she was rather “thick”, but then she ‘grew-up’ mentally during WWC12 & the qualifiers for WC50 so that now she has a verrry good mind indeed… She acted as manager for the [“unified”] U21 teams that Bears Armed entered in DBC13 (=> runners-up) and DBC14 (=> quarter-finals).
(#5) Erra o MiddleMarch _ Clan = March; home team = WildFair Warrriors, category = Defender/Midfielder, usual position = Centre Back/Defensive Centre/Centre Half, experience = 18 years; age = 34, right-pawed, fur = dark-medium brown (& a bit longer than average, although probably not quite what most people would call “long” rather than “average”…); not as much of a tactician as either of the team’s other two ‘Defensive Centres’, but skilled at her job and apparently tireless… (Oxen Cup 13 was her international debut.)
(#31) Arna-Maggra o Wirrenne _ Clan = Herrchaum; home team = Belgium FC (The Babbage Islands), category = Defender or Midfielder (or, at least when playing for the Belles, in the 'Lynchpin' [or 'Defensive Centre'] position that many Ursine teams employ...), Football experience = 5 years in ‘Junior League’ teams + 3 years as a full professional at Merlchester Rovers + however long she’s been at Belgium FC; age = 21 + however long she’s been at Belgium FC, fur = very light brown with some reddish hints, right-pawed, height = 6'4", build = quite light by Ursine standards, fast on her feet; languages spoken = Verrene, Ursine ('HeartWoods' dialect), and -- with an accent -- English; religion = converted from 'Wookha' to Greek Orthodox Christianity 2 years before moving abroad. She sometimes seems to have a sort of "sixth sense" about what's going to happen on the pitch during the next few moments, Off of the pitch, she favours loose skirts and draped scarves in bright (& often contrasting) colours, with more jewellery than is typical for Ursines (i.e. her people's equivalent of a 'Gypsy chic' look…). Godmod Scoring Events: Y

RP injuries to my players / Godmod injuries to my players / Hand out Yellow cards to my players / Hand out Red cards to my players: Y to all, at least to start with, but remember what I've written here and keep it in limits accordingly... Any serious offences by my players would probably result in injuries to your players, and causing any serious injuries to my players would probably require such obviously-deliberate attacks that your players would get yellow or even red cards as a result too. Don’t kill anybody, or inflict injuries that would be serious enough to end careers, without checking with me & getting my approval (which is unlikely to be granted…) first.

Godmod Other Events: Y, I suppose, at least as long as you do so in an AMUSING way... but please remember that Ursines are fully sapient beings, as much as Humans are, not instinct-driven animals. Oh, and of course female Ursines are not sexually interested in Humans (of either sex), and it's very unlikely that female Harr'ayanau would be either. Please don't have them run amok or outright revert to animality, without checking by TG first, don't make assumptions about their views on politics or religion, and don't do anything that would make more than one of them incapable of playing in their next game...

Kit: This incarnation of the team will mainly wear the same set of designs (from ‘ediraf’) that the “unified” national squad did for WC52, with the ‘Association’ badges still staying ‘BAAS’ rather than the [now] more accurate ‘BAMAS’. See "here" for details.
However when participating in the ‘Pink Cup’ they will switch to the NorthBears’ former violet strip instead.
Bears Armed has traditionally used base-8 arithmetic, for several reasons, and this has affected the set of numbers used for this team’s players: Also, the number “22” has deliberately been left unassigned out of respect for its first [& only] wearer who died a heroine’s death during the year immediately following WC444…

Home grounds
1/. Wimbley Stadium:
Located a few miles to the north-north-west of Council Groves (our capital city), to which it is connected by rail as well as by road, this stadium was built from scratch — on part of a former Confederal Army base’s site —shortly before the qualifiers for WC52 began as a replacement for the Bear-Belles former “home” at ‘Plumtrees Park’ which has now been demolished. Its current capacity is approximately 60'000 for Ursines: Fitting about 40’000 humans into the visiting fans' half should be possible, and so that's as many as we'll let into the country. Accommodation for visiting teams & their staffs will be provided in a new hotel, less than a mile away, which has staff who are accustomed to dealing with Humans as well as with Ursines. The various other hotels in that complex and those at Council Groves can now provide about 10’600 rooms at a time, at varying prices, although of course some of those may already have been booked by people who have nothing to do with the Cup. Accommodation (at a fairly basic level) for up to 15’000 supporters will be available, at reasonable prices, in students' residences for the National University’s campus in that city: if any more than all of those facilities put together can house want to attend a match then they’ll have to borrow space in the area’s remaining Army camp instead...
There are still no direct inter-regional flights into Council Groves, so that visitors will have to travel by way of one of our neighbours and then continue onwards by one of the limited number of "local" air-flights or by rail. (People planning to arrive by rail will still have to travel via the nation of Mikitivity, but extra services will be organised on that route...)
This site will be used for the Belles’ home games against Western Cuba, Saugeais, and Keilriagorth, and also for some of their friendlies & matches in other Cups during this period as specified separately.

2./ ‘NorthLands National Stadium’: Located at NorthPort, the most cosmopolitan city in The Ursine Northlands, this facility was originally built for use by the 'Northbears' WC49’s qualifiers. Unfortunately the place has since seen rather less use than was originally hoped, but it is still in good condition and will hold about 43’000 Ursines or over 60’000 humans (or, of course, proportionate numbers of a mixture of the two species) as it was deliberately built to be rather larger than 'Plumtrees Park' which was then the Mainland's 'national' stadium…
This site will be used for the Belles’ home game against Strapszor, and also for some of their friendlies & matches in other Cups during this period as specified separately.

NOTES

Ursines may tend to be a bit less agile & slower to accelerate than humans on average, but this team's members were carefully selected so the gap between them & their opponents in this respect should be narrower than some people might expect. They do tend to have slightly poorer eyesight than humans, on the whole (although the members of both Clan Gunnar and the Sun Clan are generally an exception to this rule, and the eyesight of the latter group is actually often at better-than-human levels instead), so long-distance passes & shots at goal will tend to be rarer behaviour for them than they are for human teams... but their typical size & strength mean that when they're running with the ball it will probably take a very brave human -- as well as a very skilled one -- to tackle them successfully, which should balance that factor pretty well. They don’t jump very well, but then they’re generally rather taller than most Human players to start with.
They're physically robust, of course, which means that they're much less likely than humans to suffer injuries in falls or collisions. The females of this species are more even-tempered than the males, and the team's members will try to stay on their best behaviour not only in order to do well in this contest but also to impress upon the watching humans that Ursines aren't just "dumb beasts". They will not 'dive', or feign injury in other ways, because suggesting that they could be harmed so easily goes strongly against the grain. ‘Northlanders’ are maybe not quite as "civilised" as the 'Mainlanders'… or, at any rate, that’s the traditional stereotype..
Cold weather should pose no problem to them, even if there's snow or ice on the pitch, but tropical heat might prove awkward...

Unless our hosts at the match in question object, this team's members (including the designated substitutes for the match in question) will perform a [fairly short] ritual that's called the 'harrdiharr' on the pitch just before play begins... This is a traditional war-dance, meant to over-awe opponents, that has come to be a customary prelude for team games as well (similar to the [RL] New Zealanders' 'haka'...). : )
As has now been seen during various tournaments, some of our fans like to take drums — and possibly cow-horns, or other "musical instruments", too — along to the matches...
The Confrederated Clans (and other Confrederated Bodys) of the Free Bears of Bears Armed
(includes The Ursine NorthLands) Demonym = Bear[s]; adjective = ‘Urrsish’.
Population = just under 20 million. Economy = only Thriving. Average Life expectancy = c.60 years. If the nation is classified as 'Anarchy' there still is a [strictly limited] national government... and those aren't "biker gangs", they're traditional cross-Clan 'Warrior Societies', generally respected rather than feared.

Role Play Injuries: Have to be minor, if you want a major injury you need to tg me.
Role Play Godmod's: Once again I prefer this not to happen. For example I don't want a miracle 40 yard shot to end regulation for the tie or win. If you want to godmod tg me first.
Role Play my Roster: If you role play first then so be it, you can role play my roster and who scores. Just don't god mod. For example taking out my best player at a important time in the game.

The Queer Poco el Mono Ara World Cup 54 Squad

Image

Coach – Mark Sloan – The long serving Pythons manager led his club side to 5 Una Serie titles before suffering a heart attack, after a dismal Cup of Harmony campaign where the second highest ranked side in the competition failed to move out of the group stage, Sloan is looking to redeem himself and his “golden generation” of players and lift the regional trophy.

*First team players marked in bold, subs in italic and reserves... don’t look like either.

Goalkeepers.

Turns out Queer Poco el Mono Ara has an abundance of aging keepers and as such the former Pythons boss has been looking towards the youngsters to give them an opportunity and experience at international level.

01. Aruna Traore – The former youth team player has been on the periphery of the national first team for a number of years now and has finally moved into the prime position replacing Chris Foster at both international and club level with a $2.5 million switch to Valengren Kickers.
02. Davi da Guia. 21 years old. Salaga F.C.. His dad is from Cafundeu and his mum is half Pocoan half Sargossan. He stands 6ft 9 and has an enormous reach and starred for the Pocoan DBC squad that reached the final.
03. James Ladbrooke. 24 year old. Racing Cruzeira. A first team player in League I, it’s a surprise he isn’t starting here. Quick off the mark, he has great reactions, but is prone of “rushes of blood to the head”.

Defence

The Pocoan defence has been rife with mistakes and shoddy displays conceding heavily in recent games during World Cup Qualifying and the Cup of Harmony. To combat this Sloan has promoted a few lads from the DBC squad to the first team after they conceded only 4 goals in 7 games.

01. (CB) Rudolpho – The centreback is getting on a little but continues to show great awareness and judgment, not to mention his die hard attitude to leading his country to newer and greater heights. He encapsulates the competitive nature of the Pocoan people and will do his bets to ensure we don’t crash and burn.
02. (CB) Jeffrey Onyewu - Won the League I title with Belle-Isle he’s an enormous talent and a huge lad. The strapping centreback should eventually get his chance to shine as a starter.
03. (RB) Clancy Gibson. 21 years old. Pythons have so often bought youth, now they have a young lad who is coming through the ranks without having had to pay millions in exchange for his potential
04. (LB) Rigobert Webo – The left back loses his place in the starting XI but manages to hold onto a spot in the squad. Strong, fast and a decent ball passer, but all that went out the window during qualifying.
05. (CB) Arsenio Jackson. 21 years old. Augustus have a habit of cultivating youth and Arsenio is another lad to emerge from their ranks. Broke into the first team after huge number of outgoings in the transfer market..
06. (CB) Lucian Cramer – It all went a little quiet for Lucian after moving to Almondvale a couple of seasons ago. He’s a consistent performer and will be another lad pleased to be included in the 23.
07. (LB)
08. (RB) George Webo – Joins his brother in the reserve pile. He’s returning to Una Serie action with Skyte and is looking for one final hoorah. May not get the chance with the national team however.

Midfield

Not many changes to the personnel in the centre of the park with the midfield still possessing Queer Poco’s “flair” players. A few new names will however be skulking around the bench.

01. (RM) Hugo Anderson - The one constant in this team and yet to turn 30. He’s fast, agile, and has a bag of tricks up his sleeve. Expect him to be more provider than goal scorer, unless it’s a freekick, he’s likely to shove his way to the front of the queue to take it.
02. (DM) Hank Layfield - after a strong season long performance for Athletic Khaldoon, he’s been linked with a move to champions Ajax Khaldoon who looking to strengthen and the young lad may be just the ticket.
03. (AM) Jordi - Began his career as a right winger but shifted into the centre by club boss Adboulaye Soro. He has since flourished in the middle having the chance to exhibit come of his natural flair. He’ll be playing just behind the attackers and will be looking to have a go at goal himself.
04. (LM) Nakiti Shapiro - The Augustus midfielder hasn’t had the best of seasons but he’s still the most talented left footer in the Pocoan league. He’s an attacking threat and good with a dead ball.
05. (LM) . Liam Muhl. 20 years old. Rydell United. Opposite to the above. He has some Una Serie experience playing for Rydell
06. (DM) Graham Potter - The midfielder’s still one of the best young players in QPeMA, he’s a hard hitter for the central midfield if ever they need one.
07. (RM) Aydin Sukur. 20 years old. Did somebody say fast? No. Oh, well he is. One of Belle-Isle’s shining lights after a poor season in the Una Serie, especially after the team promised so much.
08. (CM) Leroy Van Kleef. The Almondvale midfielder makes his international team debut at the age of 30. He’s been lurking in the back grounds of the Almondvale first XI but broke into it recently at its paid dividends.

Attack

The normally attack minded Whites failed to deliver up front during qualifying and the CoH campaign and as such the majority of the names have changed, either through international retirement or Sloan wielding the axe.

01. (CF) Gilbert Batistuta – Becomes a first choice attacker after seeing Dosenna and McCarthy dropped. The Ridgemont attacker has developed into one of the Una Serie’s biggest goal threats and will hope to replicate his club form for his country.
02. (CF) Vijay Kandakram – has surpassed former youth team teammate Pete Goodyear as Skyte’s top striker. Was called up to the QPeMA full squad for world cup qualifying but failed to get any game time. Will be a constant threat to defences everywhere.
03. (CF) Emile Karembeu – the journeyman attacker has been everywhere in the Una Serie but has settled at Ajax. He was part of the world cup qualifying squad but didn’t get a chance.
04. (CF) Bart Wilson. The Augustus attacker became the hero for the Di Bradini Cup squad and his goals helped the team to the final. Played a bit part for the league team and is a surprise to be included in the full team so early on in his development.

Sorthern Northland national football team
Image

Formation is 4-4-2 with a style modifier of +2.

Number, name, age (at WC finals), position (n/a for goalies and forwards), club (club's country in brackets, if not a Sorthern club)

Goalkeepers:

1. Yasser El-Borolossy, 25 y/o, 17th of October
13. Cathal Ó Sicín, 26 y/o, Baile an Fheirtéaraigh
23: Adrian Connolly, 29 y/o, Snowspire Communal

It's said that you have to be a bit mad to be a goalkeeper and Sorthern keepers arguably are. El-Borolossy is known to celebrate goals by jumping around on the crossbar, whilst Ó Sicín's call up is a remarkable rise to fame with him having been spotted by Baile an Fheirtearaigh whilst playing park football just under a year ago. A former poultry farmer he likes to keep a chicken in his goal. For luck he claims.

Adrian Connolly meanwhile isn't actually a goalkeeper but instead a forward listed as a goalkeeper in what can only be described as a glorious victory of wits over the decadent capitalists who insist on three keepers being named.

Defenders:

2: Laura O'Bagels, 33 y/o, right back, Beningrad
12: Jay Williams, 23 y/o, right back Corcaigh
3: Mike Pohl, 29 y/o, left back, Tenderville United (Nethertopia)
22: Hafdís Valbergsdóttir, 26 y/o, left back, Snowspire Communal

With manager Caio Meback reverting to a 4-4-2 formation after the failure of 3-5-3 at the last World Cup full-backs make a return to the squad. O'Bagels (who will arguably be past it by the time the World Cup comes around, still it helps to be the daughter of the former President at times) and Pohl will see themselves thrust back into the starting line-up after several years in which while they've been in the squad they've largely remained unused. Williams and Valbergsdóttir have both proven to be solid for their club teams and appear ready to make the step up to international football.

5: David Black, 26 y/o centre-back, Petardos S/A
6: Kaeton Fishsnapperbottom (captain), 31 y/o centre-back, Beningrad
16: Didier Lacasse, 26 y/o, CF Septentrionien
15: Michael Beck, 28 y/o centre-back, Castrograd

The retirement of Andrew Heywood sees Black and Fishsnapperbottom form the central pairing in the back four. Both accomplished defenders and a threat at set pieces, they are backed up by Lacasse, a shining light in a resurgent CF Septentrionien team and Beck, a longstay in Castrograd's defence.

Midfielders:

7: Tadhg Ó Lorcáin, 26 y/o, right winger, Ranca Toco (Cafundéu)
21: Siobhan Ní hÓgáin, 34 y/o right winger, Corcaigh

Having seen the ban on women playing top level football in Sorthern Northland being lifted largely in part due to her efforts during World Cup 49 and AOCAF Cup 28, Ní hÓgáin had made the number seven shirt her own, reaching the twilight of her career and with her powers favouring she has seen Ó Lorcáin move ahead of her in the pecking order. She is still however still a potent threat from the bench.

Ó Lorcáin meanwhile is a graduate of the acclaimed St. Patrick's academy and as with many such graduates spent time playing for Port of Clotaire in Candelaria And Marquez's CMSC. Along with much Port of Clotaire's Sorthern contingent he moved back to Sorthern Northland with Beningrad following the end of the CMSC's “international era”. His stay however proved shortlived as he was soon moving abroad again, this time to Cafundéu's Ranca Toco.

11: Baral Qaavigaaq, 29 y/o, left winger, East Reading
17: Fearne Gibson, 21 y/o, left winger, Windlesham Town

Baral Qaavigaaq, a player good with both feet (really though, these lot are professional footballers, they should be able to use either foot), a fine taker of set-pieces and coming from the Northern Wastes is a man who considers any temperature above 0°C as nice and warm has firmly established himself as Sorthern Northland's first choice left winger. Though with Fearne Gibson having been called up on the basis of looking good on a couple of substitute appearances for her club, that isn't necessarily a particularly huge achievement.

4: Kontos Gatsis, 25 y/o, central midfielder, Corcaigh
8: Will Hooper (vice-captain), 31 y/o, central midfielder, Beningrad
18: Aisling Ní Cheallaigh, 27 y/o, central midfielder, Rio Bonito (Cafundéu)
14: Arnold Tnetennba, 25 y/o, central midfielder, Felland Marsh

Will Hooper provides the creativity and the passes to bring the crowds to their feet, and having been shifted to the right wing during his time Port of Clotaire has shown to be versatile as well. Which is always handy. Kontos Gatsis, formerly known as Kostos Gatsis, meanwhile is a 'ard nutcase prone to bullying opposition players.

Aisling Ní Cheallaigh, who some are saying is the finest Sorthern attacking midfield talent since the Krofcky first broke onto the scene, is steadily building on that reputation with some tasty performances off the bench. And the odd tasty performance in lads mags as well. Despite her quality, the class of Hooper and the fact the two are similar players largely keeps the lovely Aisling on the bench. Arnold Tnetennba, as well as being a thoroughly nice chap who'll get you a very good score on certain daytime TV word based game shows offers a very good option as a back up player.

Forwards:

9: Eulàlia Marxuach, 29 y/o, Beningrad
10: Dermot Wolfetone, 23 y/o, Heathfield City
19: Antain Ó Faoláin, 29 y/o, Baile an Fheirtéaraigh
20: Bruno Bellemare, 33 y/o, CF Septentrionien

Despite having lost both Francisco Manuel Sánchez Garciá and Iñaki Arrigorriagakoa, both modern day Sorthern legends, in recent years the Sorthern attack remains strong. Marxuach has proved herself to be more than capable replacement since taking Sánchez Garciá's place and has become a key player for Beningrad since returning home from Somewhereistona's ISC Rig. Wolfetone has made his names banging in goals for fun en route to fourth place at the Fifth Summer Olympics and by helping Sorthern Northland to the World Cup 52 final after forcing himself into the side during that tournament, and has since developed into a top quality player, both for country and an otherwise poor (and in all honestly below his level, a move is surely on for him in the near future) Heathfield City side.

Ó Faoláin makes the national squad for the first time at a relatively late age having started the 2051 season in blistering form for his club, Baile an Fheiréaraigh. Which is good for them, as none of their other players have been up to much. Bruno Bellemare is another to make the squad in the later years of his career following good form for his club. Or the young forwards coming through could just not be very good in other words.

And to show the first choice starting line-up, the SNFA haven't bothered to really splashed out on fancy graphics and so all there is is to say that generally the starting line-up will be made up of the players numbered 1 to 11.

Not that we're stopping you from making a change or two to that line-up though.

RP permissions: Do whatever you like. Just try not to kill off my team. Seriously, having fun is encouraged [clothes are still optional ;) ] and the more odd the RPs, the more interesting they are.

The Orange-Blues of Rejistania

Team colors: well... guess!

Nicknames: Orange-Blues, Junis-Omeh['he]'ny, inofficially: those slani karelans ;) For historical reasons you might occasionally hear the term 'transnationals' or 'transregionals' for the team.

Some information about Rejistania: The Unified Federation of Rejistania has a very changing history (which is one of the reasons why the Ornage-Blues have been absent from the world stage for quite a while) and a rich and very regional culture. Generally, the factbook is a place for finding out about it though. Generally, Rejistanis are short and dark-skinned.

Rejistania consists of a prosperous coastal area and a impoverished hinterland. Certain players react very badly to statements of them being "xentira'he'ny". There is no rejistanian ethnicity instead, the rejistanian population consists of many different people. That can be noticed by the various names of national team players (a hyphen in the two syllable last name refers to Lajik heritage for example).

In the country, the language Rejistanian is national language. OOCly, it is a constructed language. My signature has more information about it in case anyone is interested. If you need a translation for your RP, feel free to TG me.

Some linguistic information: the demonym for Rejistania is either rejistanian or rejistani. Slani is a curse word. System Karela means a very defensive tactic and System Takil a very offensive one.

Roster Announced?

The Milchamian roster has been announced, however, due to new circumstances involving people being worried for player safety the roster has not been publicly announced and nobody seems to know the names of the players. The Warriors were once a proud nation, a perennial cup qualifier and top 10, however recently they have fallen on hard times and may or may not be top 50. Since these awful players can obviously never live up to great names of the past like Marc J. Floren, Avi Belmowitz, Dustin Copperlee, and Chase Mergle the MFA has decided that for their safety the best thing to do is to make them anonymous. Therefore, while the MFA knows who is playing, and we believe we will be able to figure out who is playing, we don't actually know.

So here is the Milchama roster, the MFA did announce a traditional 3-3-4 set up that will be +3:

GK: X
D: S
D: Y
D: Q
M: C
M: P
M: K
F: J
F: D
F: E
F : W

Subs:
GK: Z
D: L
M/F: P
M/D : R
F: V
M: O

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:

Choose my goalscorers Y
Godmod scoring events Y
RP injuries to my players Y
Godmod injuries to my players Y
Hand out yellow cards to my players Y
Hand out red cards to my players Y
Godmod other events Y

Something else to note, if any of my opponents, or really anybody else, wants to name my players go ahead. These are just place holder names.
