Well, the merger of the Unolian Handball League and the National Unolian Handball League has merged to an ugly effect. An entire conference's worth of teams out of the UHL were plain out disbanded as a result of the merger and a weird three tier system had replaced it. The champions of all three leagues are to be given automatic qualifications to the WCHC, the new system dictates, while the #2 and #3 ranked teams in each league would be placed in a playoff bracket to determine the fourth spot. And, if that wasn't enough, a national championship playoff bracket would be made from the top three of each league, as well.

Well, sigh, let's see what happens.

The deadline for entries to the 11th World Club Handball Championship is officially set for 9:00 PM EDT (0100 UTC) on July 9th, 2014. All nations publishing a scorinated set of season results are invited to enter up to four teams. Clubs should be entered based on performance within the association's main competition. All associations participating in WCHC 11 may submit a single venue to be considered for hosting the final of the competition.

Seesson 1

For a great many years, the Paradystopi Islanders have played a variant of Handball; a rough-and-ready battle of sport between various clans dotted across the five islands to the north east of the mainland. Apparently, in the ancient times, the game would be played as an act of celebration of war victories and be played with the dismembered head of the losing chieftan. This has, however, been widely debunked as myth/'typical islander bullshit'. With the formation of an official league, the majority of the old clan teams have unified and used the names of their locale. The exeptions being 'ðe Soddestomppes' and 'ðe Stoenne Menfolk' of Alsabbassy whose fierce rivalry harking back to before anyone can remember (hence they know that they despise each other but no-one has any actual idea why) meant that the formation of new teams was impossible.

After the initial nine squads, two teams from two mainland coast town also wanted entry (due to their proximity to the islands, they were hardly going to miss up on a chance to play out their own feuds with the islanders on the handball field). Then a further two from the isle of Kinshish joined (because they play the race card when they're not included and no Paradystopi can be bothered with the aggro). Finally, one further team from the Paradystopi capital sought inclusion; 'ðe Scholres y'Adyhsar', a team formed by students of Paradystopi Island Cultural Studies at Adyhsar University which was accepted because 'it'll be a laugh'. Anything above last would be an achievement for them.

Each team plays each other twice, home and away. Five points are awarded for a win and two for a draw and ties will be sorted by goals scored, then goal difference. The top eight teams then compete in a double elimination playoff for the league trophy, the final four remaining teams qualify for the WCHC.

Yes it is. The last month and a half has been a bit insane for me, as real-life has demanded attention over NS things (thus my comparatively minimal RPing at the last WC, non-participation in the Olympics, etc.) and as a result, I've been unable to find the time to deal with the WCHC. However, with classes resuming and my schedule becoming more predictable and controllable, I should be able to finally get things running in the next week or so. My apologies for any inconvenience.
