World Korfball Classic IV (DISCUSSION)

Welcome to the official signup thread of the World Korfball Classic, the world's only currently running korfball tournament! This will be the fourth edition of the competition. Last tournament, which was hosted by the Free Republic (aka Saintland/Feministvs Sanctvsterra), we saw Some Village take home the title. Who's going to go home victorious this time? It could be you!

As in the previous two editions of this tournament, we will be implementing a bidding system to determine the host. Anyone is welcome to place a bid, and all participating nations will be eligible to vote on who will host the tournament.

The time period for signups/host bids will most likely be relatively brief, however, I still hope to get up to 16 teams. Should we fall short of that figure, puppets will be admitted on a first come, first serve basis.

The signups list will be updated by tonight. To San Andreas: given that you seem to be relatively new to NS, perhaps it would be best to focus on your RPing before making the dive into hosting. However, if you are intent on making a bid, you should try to make it as in-depth and informative as possible. You may find this link to be of assistance.

What scorinator is used for kore all and is is compatible with an IPad?

The korfball function on xkoranate is currently the only working korfball scorinator that I know of, and has been used in each of the past three tournaments.

There aren't any scorinators that I know of that currently support mobile devices, although I would assume that if you created one in Google Docs you would be able to operate it with the Google Drive app for iOS.

The SJG Bid for the World Korfball Classic IV

Format

The format would be 4 groups of 4 with a double round-robin, at neutral grounds in eight (8) cities in SJG (Two cities for each group, one for the first half or round-robin and one to final part of round-robin) (Cities: Vladivostok-Alianza, El Roblar, Piedra Labrada, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, San Salvador, Khanty-Mansiysk, Khabarovsk and San Ignacio)Top 2 per group would advance to Quarter-finals (two matches at neutral venues to determine a winner and who advances to the semi-finals) and the same process as before to semifinals to determine finalists. Defeated teams in the semifinals, will play for the consolation prize (to determine 3rd place).

Tiebreakers

Ties will be settled by head-to-head record, followed by head-to-head point differential and then overall point differential. If still tied, a playoff will be used to settle the tie.

The tiebreakers will be used in the following order:
-Points
-Goal Difference
-Head to head record
-Head to head goal difference
-Tiebreaker match

Scorination & RP Bonuses

I Will cutoff RPs at 15:00 El Salvador Time (UTC-6) Scorination will be done with Xkoranate 0.3.3, using the korfball function (Games of SJG Will be scorinated by a third party who is not participating in the tournament, for more fairness. No rankings will be used. RP bonuses will be cumulative, taking care of the creativity of the RPs and his details, The maximum bonus rank will be set to 1.0, whichever is larger. An additional RP bonus of a half point will be awarded for rosters. RP bonuses for any possible tiebreaker playoff will not be cumulative. More RP, the more chance you have of winning (Take care of Quality and Creativity).

Who's SJG?

SJG is a nation that is newly created (March), but that is slowly gaining international shooting competitions, each time getting better participations and RPing consistently appropriate, creative and meets the requirements demanded by each tournament in which also participates start betting more and become a power in different sports, korfball being his biggest bet for excellent tournament.

IC reasons for bidding

SJG, is a nation with great interest about Korfball, and with extremely low criminality statistics. There's a huge expectation from the public in this sport, besides the Government and Private Enterprise have joined forces to improve sports infrastructure, with large stadiums with a capacity of 75.000 to 150.000 people , which have the latest technology and comfort, in addition to make it easier for visitors to stay in the various cities (Hospitality costs will be asumed by Government) where the teams play and the players to move around the country to the cities. All in SJG have desire to hold this cup to interact with other nations and share the culture.

Will be provided before and after the WKC IV Some sightseeing tours around SJG.

Note that you will be given a dynamic and entertaining the World Korfball Classic IV, with cultural activities from the participating countries and their delegations, making this tournament, a memory that all will never forget

Schedule

If this bid is accepted, I will start the tournament on 27 September, friday, provided that the signups reach the acceptable number (16 at least, 32 at most). The schedule will still depend on the number of signups and I only assure you as of this time that there will be a one day break between the group stages and all the championship rounds
