Irkan City Swarm from Yesopalitha are no stranger to the Final now, as they were able to hoist the trophy in the previously played Cup. Needing to go the distance in 3 of its 4 series matchups (Dudlek, Silver Admirals, Fillinati), the only positive sign the Swarm have shown some signs of offensive consistency, routinely cashing in more then 6 runs a game; only the Dudlek Bandits held them to under 4 runs in a game. Defensively, though, they've struggled a bit, giving up almost 5 runs per game; their offensive definitely needs to be on the up and up if they want to win the Cup again.

Opposing them are the Scott City Blue Jays from Darmen. They were so close to reaching the Finals last season, when Western Cuba's Manta squad overtook them in 3 games. And Darmen is no stranger to Finals runs in this competition either, as the Eau Claire Cavaliers took home the trophy in the 5th edition of this competition. Scott City have shown more balance offensively and defensively throughout their matches in the tournament, accumulating roughly the same amount of runs scored as runs given up. However, the Blue Jay pitching has given up 3 runs or less in 6 out of 10 matches.

Both teams can produce runs in a pinch, but in a flash can also take away chances as well. With Stade Power-Eternite in Sicoutimont already furnished with the ceremonial buntings, fans can hardly wait to see the seventh Baseball Club Champions Cup Final begin.

The Scott City Blue Jays cap off an amazing run to the Finals with their first ever ultimate BCCC victory, needing 4 games to defeat the Irkan City Swarm. Scott City become the second Darmen team to win the competition, and third champion overall from that nation as the Eau Claire Cavaliers have won twice previous.

The entry limits for the 8th Champions Cup are as follows:

• All nations are eligible to enter four teams.
• Special Consideration: Scott City Blue Jays are assured a spot in the First Round Proper as the reigning champions. If they fail to qualify for one of Darmen's four places, they will replace the fourth-placed team.

The deadline for entry into the 8th BCCC is tentatively set for November 21st, 2012.

Host bids will follow the same criteria as last season: entry must at least have a stadium name, capacity, and city; informational blurb about the city/stadium, while optional, is a nice feature to have. The Finals venue will be determined via a knockout vote style. Last place stadium in the round is dropped out, and at any time a stadium gets more than half of the votes, all voting ends and that stadium is determined to be the host. If no host bids are received, the Finals will take place at Stade de Saugeais in Montbenoit. The stadium bids are due by same deadline for team entry.

Cotdelapoms's company Giroux has just completed its 4 year deal sponsoring the BCCC, so now it is time to begin the elections for a new sponsor. The Sponsorship Committee is now receiving all potential sponsor applicants, and all bids should include:

• The name of the bidding company or product.
• The company or product's logo. The logo must be in PNG format if possible and as large as possible, as it must be distinguishable at the size it will be used.
• Bids should be posted in this thread.

Sponsor bids are also due by when team entry deadline.

Bears fans unsure what can go wrong

After making the semifinals of the AIBC tournament, setting a regular-season record for number of wins in this current league, and then winning the championship, the Zwischen Bears are "doing pretty well" in the words of stunned fan Tommy McKeiszar. His fellows in the capital and elsewhere report total mystification as to when something will go wrong.

"I just can't believe this is going to last," said Leah Rotti. "I mean, we had that meteorite totally take out the suburbs, right? Probably something like that will happen again. Or, we've got an election coming up here, that could be some recount nightmare." Other suggestions include the roof on the stadium literally falling in.

"It doesn't matter that we don't have a dome or anything," Bert Strian-Geing sighed, "it could totally happen."

The Bears overcame the Kerlagrad Dragons in the championship series, having beaten the FTC Werwolfs in the earlier playoff round. The other playoff saw the Dragons beat the Spenson Worms, in the first-ever playoff appearance for the latter. They are the last team to make the playoffs for the first time.

Since the LAZY began, the Bears actually have the most playoff appearances of any team. (Six in eleven seasons. The Werwolfs are second, with 5, though of course, most of those were not as the Werwolfs.) "I really can't believe it," said Kelly Juring. "After the Zebras were so bad last time...that our little Bears could win it all!"

Manager Marjorie Cobara took offense to this. "Hey. We are not little Bears. We are, like, full-sized and ferocious Bears. So do not underestimate us."

A year of dominance and submission. Four teams finishing with over 100 wins and three with over 100 losses (the Colts just barely escaping that fate), it was a not a test of who was here to compete. It was a test of who could whip their opponents more often. The Fillies showed that the age in their lineup didn't slow them down one bit, and even showed a glimpse of the future when late call-up star prospect second basemen Lionel Patterson lit up the basepaths, stealing 34 bases in August and September alone. Gin Tome showed glimpses of his Golden Bat season four years past; the 40 year old nearly matched his age in homers. Cliff Leaper dominated, rolling up 25 wins accompanied by a measly two losses and striking out 287, second only to Casey Brant. Speaking of Brant, he lead the Cowboys to yet another 100+ win season while setting another KBL record in strikeouts, racking up an astounding 354, mostly preying off of an oddly free-swinging Peasants lineup.

Meanwhile, the Mountaineers and the Bloody Sox had an incredible bout in the Northeast Division. For the Mountaineers, Gil Marquez pushed the limits of his 32-year old body to stay one of the best leadoff men in the league, maintaining an on-base percentage above .390 for the entire season and ending on .399. Porifio Bautista is finally blossoming into the ace they hoped he would be, the 26-year old posting a 2.85 ERA and bringing in 21 wins. In Bashtun Kristofer Vela continued his stellar play in center, constantly topping the countdown of the week's best plays. Gordon McKee was stealing bases like a maniac as he normally does, finishing with 93 thiefs on the season. If he can keep this rate up for just four more years, he'll break Niger Henderson's career stolen base record! Easier said than done, though; that's saying he has to steal at least 85 bases a year until he's 37.

One of the more interesting stories that developed towards the end of the season (unless you're from Neighpon) is the Foundries becoming the first team to ever make it to the Fall Classic with a negative run differential. The team was particularly scrappy and relied heavily on closer Jasmine Carr, who finished out well over half of their wins, accumulating 57 saves. Those narrow wins and a disproportionate amount of blowout losses defined their season, with enough of the former to frustrate the Tigers once again.

Anything can happen in the Fall Classic. The Ursas have not won a fall classic in over 70 years, after an infamous incident where the notoriously racist Illineigh owners of Norley Park refused admission to a goat. The goat had indeed been born over the border in Ibex, but his parents had moved to Fillydelphia shortly afterward and he had grown up fully immersed in the Karditani culture; nevertheless, he had gone back to his Ibex roots and put a hex on the Ursas for their offense to goatkind. And in the only way to make a sweep exciting, two wins being extra-inning heart pounders and the finisher going down to the last strike, the Ursas finally broke the curse. The streets of Illineigh were filled with partiers for nearly a week while police in Fillydelphia had trouble controlling rioters, who were particularly agitated as that last Ursa Fall Classic win seventy long years ago had been against the Fillies. The star of the series was undoubtably Moistest Aloe, homering thrice in four rather low-scoring games and making an incredible catch that saved Game 2 for the Ursas. The bases were loaded with two outs in the top of the tenth for the Fillies with contact hitter Placid Planko at-bat; it was almost certain he would get a hit, the only question being when and where. On a 2-1 count he hit what looked to be a regular foul ball into the left-field stands, but Aloe made an incredible jump (over six feet straight up) and hoofed his glove into the stands, making the catch and keeping the game tied long enough for--you guessed it--himself to hit a walkoff two-run blast in the bottom of the same inning.

[Northern Sunrise Islands]

Baseball. Quite simply one of the least remembered sports on Northern Sunrise Islands. Soccer rings bells, Ice Hockey isn't hard to remember, Rugby is starting to get a good grip on the minds of the fans, Basketball and American Football are on a revival and even the virtual sport of Haxball is already growing. So it's safe to say that Baseball is on the shadow of other sports and with that, nsi.baseball started as the Matthew City Wolves faced the Selyne City Monarchs at a half-filled InComm Arena. Twelve teams, two from the city of San Jose who seems as the best market, started playing the first ever season of nsi.baseball.

RESULTS

The season was profitable for all teams, though some of those, such as the Byrd Nats saw a small margin of profit. However, the tournament became decently important and companies already make their plans on bidding to back up the tournament as a sponsor. At one point, the fans believe in a new sport to watch, maybe not that great on the international level, but better than nothing.

If you thought Baseball was a minor sport in the Northern Sunrise Islands, then take a look at the Amateur Baseball League of Cyborg Holland:

As aforementioned, Baseball is a very small sport in Cyborg Holland, despite the national team being 31st in the world. There are currently 12 teams in the ABL, split into two divisions, but the BACH (Baseball Association of Cyborg Holland) are looking to gain support in traditional areas of the south of the country. The teams are all from either the cities of Brullik, Port Rotterdam, University town of Commandich or Tyist. They play each other 5 times over a 4 month period.

Vendrall is about as close to desert as one can get in Civil Citizenry (which is not all that close). Located in the far southeast along Mer d'Oie (the Goose Sea), Vendrall experiences summers hotter than anywhere else in the country. It can be a bear for opposing teams to accustom themselves to this relatively extreme climate, but Vendrall Rattlesnakes players love playing here year-round. (Many teams hold preseason workouts in the Vendrall area.) The famous Citiz beaches are particularly divine in this city of about 90,000.

The stadium itself is pretty modern, seating over 37,000 fans. (You may wonder why a relatively small city has a stadium so large. Understand that sports are so popular that every city tries to make professional sports very accessible. As a result, the stadium rarely fills to capacity, but at least the opportunities for growth are there. This is commonplace for stadiums of all sports across the nation.) The field is actually situated on a hill (known as Blaze Hill, colloquially "Blaze'ill"), such that fans sitting in center field can catch glimpses of Mer d'Oie; center field seats, understandably, are quite expensive. The stadium's facilities are well-kept, mainly because it is in use nearly all twelve months of the year by various teams.

War Fisk, the Rattlesnakes' BOE, has opted to submit a bid for the honor of hosting the BCCC final because he believes Vendrall is an emerging market for sports and wishes to present the city on a broad stage. Indeed, Vendrall has seen increased fan attendance and revenues every season since the league's inception. Come to the Desert, a fan organization formed to promote the BCCC final bid, said that the Rattlesnakes can expect a 20% increase in attendance next year as a result of the bid's publicity (if the bid is successful). Vendrall Mayor Brad Langdon says the economic benefit from a successful bid would not be enormous (the tourism sector is already flourishing), but certainly noteworthy.

Procedural Bits

• 60 teams from 15 nations will be participating in this events
• The tournament will be broken down into the following rounds:
  
  • First qualifying round: Every team except for the top ranked nation's teams will participate (28 teams to 14)
  • Second qualifying round: Yesopalitha's teams will enter into the competition, evening the field to 16 (16 to 8 teams)
  • Third qualifying round: Everyone plays as normal (8 to 4)
  • Fourth qualifying round: Everyone plays as normal (4 to 2)
  • The final two teams from the Qualifying rounds will be added to the First Round Proper selection, where standard knockout rules will apply until a winner is declared.

Final Venue Selection
The Selection Committee for the final site is made up of 13 members from the AIBC Boards of Trustees. Three final venue bids have been brought forth by the nations of Aels, Civil Citizenry, and Karditan. The bid with the lowest number of votes per round will be removed and the next round of voting will take place. The winner of the final venue host is the stadium who wins the final round of voting, OR accumulates 50% + 1 of any individual round's vote before the final round.

Garramairead become the first ever Tynealan team to compete in the BCCC finals, taking a relatively easier route than their opponents from Yesopalitha. The Eagles also boast one of the lowest runs allowed per game; in their 10 matches, Garramairead's defense was allowed a paltry 2.4 runs a game. On the offensive end, they've not had to score very many when their defensive allows such few runs; the Eagles bats have produced and average of 4.1 runs per game.

The Hansbrough Turtles have had a long road to take getting into the Finals during this cycle, setting three records along the way. The first record being that they are playing in their third BCCC Finals since the competition's inception. The second and third a little more noteworthy, as not only are they the first team to appear in the Final after starting from the qualifying rounds, but they have also played the most amount of series within one single tournament, with a total of 7, and 8 if you count the upcoming Final. The Turtles have made a living from taking their opponents to the limit, with 5 of the 7 series going the full three games.
