Still no self-targeting

I miss being able to spam cure missiles at myself. Meant I could actually do something about it.

Now it's just... there. I can't do anything about it. Can't target myself with anything and since my nation is a hermit (technical term), Z-Day largely means looking on as your population gets slaughetered by the billions while your hands are tied.

Agreed. It's really annoying. I wish we could launch cure missiles and extermination teams at ourselves.

One option is to create an alt or "puppet" account and use that to cure yourself. Or request aid from a trusted individual or organization.

It would be cool in a situational thing where you are fighting zombies, have a couple million left, and you don't want your allies wasting some cure missiles on you. Saves the hassle of logging into a puppet to launch at yourself.

Right - but since I log in once a day at most in normal circumstances AND cure got reset... XP

This seems to be intended. You are facing a crisis that your nation cannot handle by itself, so you need international aid. Z day and N day are multiplayer games, and are designed to facilitate regional cooperation and regional teambuilding.
That, or if you want these games to be single player create a ton of puppets.

If self-targeting were to be implemented, there should be a massive cooldown from any other launches of superweapons, as well as a nerf to the power of the attack.
As current mechanics are, if you launch you have a cooldown of 20 seconds, and if you are the recipient you have to wait around a minute and a half.
I do believe that the idea of working together in an international crisis, even one that is near impossible to handle yourself you should be able to buy yourself time for help to arrive.
