Land filled with People wrote:My point though Fris, is that what's the use in having a "bigger and more effective toolbox" if the mod isn't around to use it? Again, people who have the bigger toolbox and fall inactive are different to people who are inactive and then get the bigger toolbox.

I'm not sure what your last line is referring too. Of course GMs moderate the forums. But FMs can't moderate gameside. So an examination of forumside activity provides a more accurate picture of overall FM activity, than overall GM activity (which could only increase!). That doesn't serve to rebuke my claim of inactivity posted earlier.

There's more accurate methods of measuring activity that you folks don't have access to. I'm sure that if there is a problem, it will be addressed. There hasn't been, to my knowledge. Nor are there any set requirements as to how many hours/day or week that we need to log to be 'effective'. We all do what we can, where we can, and those efforts are appreciated - at least by the rest of us moderators. There's also things that can be accomplished without the telling 'postcount' forum-side, so ... yeah. If they weren't considered worthy of elevation and more tools to better assist in taking care of the site overall, they wouldn't have been. Me? I have no problem with it. They've both been good folks, with good critiques and input. I'm sure they're going to do just fine.

To Mal & Mouse - best of luck, and congrats! I'm already seeing you all over the place sorting things out. :)

Oh pickles! More MODS to hold me responsible for my behaviour? Noooooo!

Seriously though, congrats.

You're still proud of that, aren't you? :p *

Congrats to both o' ye. Now Mouse can finally fix over-size sigs herself and Mall can resign from multiple positions at once. Everyone's happy! For real, though, enjoy the new buttons. Don't press the wrong one too often.

What if Issues Editors are actually players who create 'newb' nations and purposely break rules just to give the mods credibility?

Unless I'm looking in the wrong spot, I still don't have that power. But! It looks like I have the power to delete sigs. So I suppose I could just use that approach instead .... *cackles gleefully*

In all seriousness, thanks for the congrats (and commiserations) everyone. In case my nation's pretitle wasn't indication enough, my thank-you gifts of choice are potatoes.

EDIT: Yeaaaaah, I was looking in the wrong spot. Thanks to the awesome Nerv for showing me how to flex those particular powers! xD

FYI, the vast majority of gameside responses use a canned script, so we don't have to write the same answers over and over. There are a dozen or two of those canned answers on a drop down list, and they're all pretty terse. It could be any of us using them.

Also, a huge number of GHRs don't actually require a response telegram, so you as a player can't really judge activity by responses. We do what needs doing, log it, and move on. Those sorts of counts turn up in the Mod Olympics.

By the way Mouse and Mall, I have a few old dead nations I let go of eons ago. I could revive some if you'd like some mod centre practice. I wouldn't do anything with them other than revive them for you to 'sandbox with'. However I don't know whether that's allowed, I'd probably need approval from mods first.

Ok, either way, that's alright with me too. I Just thought it was worth offering.

I wish Mouse and Mall the best of luck now they're plugged into the HiveMind.

Hang on, thinking of what I posted some time ago, there IS actually now at least one Game Mod whose nation is younger than mine!

Yes, Mall takes the title of youngest game moderator nation from Sedge.

On the other hand, Mouse takes over my record of 'took the longest from founding until game modship' :)
