70 years ago there was still the division between Khin and Uenei, since the unification of both peoples only occurs 40 years ago. Soon there was no flag symbolizing the current Khinuenei.

The Imperial Standard has been in use from 1877 to today. There were attempts to change the Tughra (symbol in the center) to that of the reigning sultan, but in the end tradition won our and it stayed the same, that of the mighty Abdül Hamid II, the Sultan that fostered and engineered the Hamidiyan "renaissance". The empire underwent a decline all along the 18th century, which Abdül Hamid II. managed to halt. That and his historic name, the first Sultan to be called Hamid after Abdül Hamid Ghazi, the founder of the Hamidiye Empire. Note: this standard directly represents the authority of the Sultan and may not be used by anyone not carrying it. The Star and Tughra are used on rank ensignia, police caps and the like.
