Yes. I said that these were difference. You agree that these are differences. What exactly is your point?

It seemed like you were saying why it is better. Sorry if I made that assumption incorrectly.

If you really wanted to serve your country you would have stayed in the military until you were no longer able to fight, none of this liberal "further education" faggotry.

Because of the theological differences, I believe that the Anglican model is better - but that is because of the theological differences, which both of us freely admit. I think you would say the same about the Catholic priesthood, and for the same reasons. That was not why I listed the differences between the two models of priesthood, though. My intent was informative, not persuasive; I wanted to explain a different, alternative model for what it means to be a priest, not to assert the superiority of that alternative model.

Yeah. All education people need is "obey orders", "hail my country", and "kill the enemy".
Further education may lead to the pernicious idea that enemies are actually people - you know, those devious traitors who teach in non-military schools continuously further their pinko liberal brainwashing agenda!

I would appreciate it if you would read my posts. I was not asking you if you agreed; I was simply offering another way of viewing the priesthood. As I've already said:

I still consider it from time to time. Or at least receiving minor holy orders.

My day is not complete unless I vandalize at least three churches, eat a baby for lunch, sacrifice a goat, a lemur, a hamster, the neighbors cat, and kick a puppy. What really sucks is the neighbor is running out of cats.

But you have a steady supply of lemurs? How does that work, Satanist lemur farm?

I'm considering the (Buddhist) monastical life, but I've never considered Christian Priesthood.

Yes, I am currently in the process of applying to Seminary for the Latin Rite of the Catholic Priesthood. I am applying for the Diocesan Priesthood, not any Order though.

I never mentioned my vocation on NS before, and I know I'll be badgered about it now. People usually lack nice things to say to me in real life concerning it, but I expected that and I think it makes me stronger (not encouraging you to do so). People have many large misconceptions of the priesthood. I wont get into them now, but many people confuse the Office of the Priesthood with the Priest. By that I mean that one confuses the vocation for the person itself. Priests are men, they are not perfect by any means, but people hold them to such a high standard it can be very intimidating.

Anyway, I don't want to be a Priest because of any house, food, clothes, or hats (though I do intend to buy a biretta soon ;) ). I want to be a Priest cause I feel that God wants me to be a Priest and I love my God.
Likes: SSPX, Grand Old Party, William F. Buckley Jr., Reagan, Israel, US Army, tobacco.
Dislikes (get ready): Homosexuality, marijuana, communists, direct democracy, liberals, atheists, agnostics, protestantism, muhammedans, Pope Francis, IRA, abortion, minimum wage laws, cooking, cleaning, taking out the trash, Russia, Putin, Syria, Africa, South America, Canada, NationStates, Barack Obama, US Marine Corps, US Navy, US (ch)Air Force, Hillary Clinton, Jane Fonda, most people.

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions that I can ignore.

Let me count the ways I would be unable to be a priest. I drink. I smoke. I do weed, and did acid, coke, heroine, meth, ecstasy, opium, and morphine at one point or another. I will have sex with just about any attractive woman I can get in bed with me. I curse a fucking ton. I will gladly screw people over to get a buck. I'm a hedonist. I'm materialistic. And, I'm rather ruthless.

I had a friend who had a pipe dream of becoming a priest...

But other than that, there's no way I'd even think about it...
And so it was, that I had never changed.

No, they leave them a fruit basket and a "thank you" note on the doorstep.

I was under the impression they generally have better things to do. Like wash their hair.
