Lookin' On The Bright Side Of Life
Yes, the title is an Eric Idle song reference.

"YES! That's my team!" Lao says with pride as the Diamonds match with United Adaikes concluded.

"More like that's our team," Russo adds, "they actually did pretty good."

"Pretty good? Sandro, that's not enough to say," Malaluan replies, "the Diamonds... excelled!"

"Yeah," Russo nods, "1-3 ensures a top spot in our group. For now."

"If they can beat New Bradman, they'd still stay on top." Lao adds.

"Mind you, they got sent a rank below us after losing to The Elder Lands." Malaluan realises.

"Anything could happen here, Mateo," Russo replies, "it's football after all."

"Association football, to be exact," Lao says.

"You get the gist." Russo chuckles.

"Right," Lao says, "I think I'm gonna have to tell those Diamonds who's the starting eleven for their next match."

"We'll go with you," Malaluan replies and smiles.

"Thanks."

On the training field...

The players had segregated into their genders after hearing a tip from Dimitri Cereza.

Amongst the male players, Dimitri was trying to kick the ball to Josh without it getting to Abran, while Benrich and Zayne were practicing attacking and defending respectively.

"Come on, Ben," Zayne says, "step your game up."

"But I am!" Benrich nearly laughs.

Meanwhile, the female players were in a large circle trying to kick the ball to each other without it going out.

Suddenly, a whistle blew and the players stopped.

"Diamonds," Lao says while gathering his team, "well done on today's match. I'll tell you who's starting for your match with New Bradman."

He continues. "Vilela, goalkeeper. Castro, Reoja and Magno, defenders. Clemente, del Valle, Lualhati and Marasigan, midfielders. And finally, Go, Cereza and Gonzalez, you are the forwards. Any questions?"

"Hold on, is this the same line-up as last time?" Zayne asks.

"Yes, it is."

"OK."

Ničïh Sehidatïnak 48vjë Čëlunaca; Däs Hïdöjavjë Hafamariju Vehci
Ničïh Scores in 48th Minute; Hafamari National Team Wins

“My knee is not what it used to be,” Sït Ničïh told TVH Sport’s Zavran Köjnetka after the 2025/26 Ligë Hafamariju final. A collision early in that game aggravated an injury from his childhood, which meant the star striker of Sučavjë Speed would have to watch the game from the bench. The team had won the championship for the last three years thanks in large part to the talent and leadership of Ničïh, and unfortunately the team felt his absence. They would lose 2-1 to Cinderella story FC Ïmduha, who hadn’t made the quarterfinals since 2004.

The 28-year-old Ničïh certainly felt the pressure going into yesterday’s match against Abanhfleft. Rumors and trash talk would have him believe he was washed up, though the kinder comments mourned a supposed recurring injury he was now suffering from. Of course, he proved the haters wrong: he played in top form in Hafamarimët’s first match of IAC 26, scoring the game’s only goal early in the second half. Tight defense, including clutch saves from goalie Hidan Ümënë, kept the Fleftic offense at bay.

“I’m very proud of the team, and very excited to show the world what we can do,” head coach Desudran Sïlmana said in a post-game interview. The team’s next game will be against the team from Nortallius.

Match Day 2 Kroos's Speech before Matchday 2

Postby Brusselstein » Tue Jul 28, 2026 4:11 am

Lankeshmati vs Brusselstein

Manager: Tony Kroos

The sun had just begun to rise over the city as the Brusselstein squad gathered in the hotel lobby. There were no loud conversations this morning. Everyone still remembered the painful 4–3 defeat to Auprussia after surrendering a 2–0 lead.

Today was different.

The bus ride to the stadium was quiet. Most players had headphones on, staring out the windows or reviewing clips from the last match on their tablets. Tony Kroos sat near the front, occasionally glancing back at his team.As the bus rolled into the stadium, a few Brusselstein supporters waved flags and chanted the nation's name. Several players stopped to sign shirts before heading inside.Inside the dressing room, every jersey was perfectly laid out.

Kroos waited until everyone was seated.

"We've already watched the replay. We know where we failed So forget it."

He looked around the room.

"One match does not define this team. What defines us is how we respond to adversity."

He walked toward the tactics board.

"Lankeshmati is organized. They'll wait for us to make mistakes. wo don't give them any chances."

He pointed toward the attackers.

"When we press, We press together."

Then to the midfield. When we lose the ball we win it back immediately. Finally to the defenders.

"And if we score first..." He paused. we don't stop."

Several players nodded.

Captain Joshua Bauch stood up. "No excuses today. We fight for every ball. We fight for every supporter wearing our colors."

"And when the final whistle blows..."

"...they'll know Brusselstein was here."

The room erupted.

"BRUSSELSTEIN!"

"BRUSSELSTEIN!"

"BRUSSELSTEIN!"

The players formed a circle, hands together.

Tony Kroos smiled.

"Go out there. Play with courage. play for each other. and finish the job. lets hopefully get 3 points on the board"

As the tunnel doors opened, the roar of the crowd grew louder. One by one, the Brusselstein players stepped onto the pitch—not thinking about the collapse against Auprussia, but focused on writing a new chapter against Lankeshmati.

The main picture in the Happy Brito Day tweet was used from a template dropped in the IBA server by Carellie. Thank you Car! Picture of the buses were from the web, while the player celebrating was morphed with AI to attach jersey (and background for the scorecard. The stadium pic was fully generated by AI, as an extension to the picture attached in the host info.

The player image in the video thumbnail was modified by AI, however the scoreline graphic and video descriptions were man-made.

Commenators - Jon Berdrusse, Recha Vasskold

3'
JB - ''Oh, and he's on the way into the box here. Edsmontik are off to a quick start.''

RV - ''Look at the passing there, the Eagles are keeping it in the center. It's a lot of pressure on them but so far it seems like their using that pressure to allow for explosive movements... just like that!''

JB - ''Well done by Stuero to get it up there to the edge of the box, but what will he be doing with it now?''

RV - ''It's passed back to Qanz Haarviq, who is also making his debut for the Edsmon national team.''

JB - ''The Hejhiiken captain has got a lot to prove, but the question here is what are the Edsmons going to do now that they are in quarter of the pitch closest to Arklanda's goal?''

RV - ''It's Vioraad Reiovus there passing back to Maven Rehcikt who'll TAKE THE SHOT!''

JB - ''My my! It's off the crossbar!

RV - ''That for sure caught me surprised, being much farther out that he is normally and still shooting is something you wouldn't always expect.''

JB - ''Maven is a risk taker though; we've seen him with those risky volleys and headers.''

RV - ''And that's what makes him brilliant. Let us take a look at this again. Okay, so here we see, right after the pass back, Rehcikt immediately cuts inside past Hareth, and you notice, as the defender begins to step towards Rehcikt here, instead of pulling back to keep possession, Rehcikt does what most don't. He goes forward. And with that precision he just guides the ball up, but the angle is just not the best and it curls right onto the crossbar. ''

JB - ''And props to the keeper, Benkssar. Almost fumbled the catch but he managed to grab it just before Reiovus' huge head did.''

18'
RV - ''Edsmontik has lost the ball here. Bad touch by Darion Verto.''

JB - ''Reziki has the ball now, and he's cruising through the midfield there.''

RV - ''Ystermakt has come up to confront him- and that's a nice piece of skill from Reziki to evade the defensive midfielder, but it's not enough, the ball has fallen right to Beridien Benner. That's probably his first touch of the game there.''

JB - ''What's more important now is that the Eagles are right on the counterattack, Stuero claims it here from Benner. It looks like he's going wide potentially for a cross?''

RV - ''Arklanda have to be careful here because the Eagles have plenty of strong and tall players, crossing is a big thing Edsmons do.''

JB - ''It's into the box.... and too far for Rehcikt or Reiovus. Unfortunate.''

RV - ''And that'll be an Arklanda throw in.''

JB - ''Oh! It's intercepted immediately! Very nice move by Rehcikt to claim the ball, it looks like Edsmontik have another chance coming in. It's a pass backwards to Verto, and right away that's up in the air...''

RV - ''HEADER! BUT IT'S CAUGHT! What a save by Benkssar, that was definitely not easy. A very awkward catch there for sure.''

JB - ''To be honest here, there just wasn't enough behind that header. If Edsmontik wants to claim the three points here at home, they'll have to pull up with a much stronger header. Haarviq's hit just wasn't meeting the mark.''

RV - ''Agreed. Good effort, but to score, he'll have to do better for sure.''

23'
RV - ''It's looking like another good attack for the Eagles here.''

JB - ''A lot of people say they think Edsmontik will pull an easy win in this match, but clearly, that's not case. Arklanda has been playing well all game, making saves, defending well, and even getting in their own attacks against the Indies Rank 5. You can almost even assume this game is between two giants.''

RV - ''It's with Maartin Stuero.''

JB - ''He's completely in Stuero finesse shot range, will he be bending this over the defense and into the back of the net like he does so well every other time?''

RV - ''A nice bit of skill- HE TAKES THE SHOT! BUT IT'S DENIED BY THE CROSSBAR!''

JB - ''He's telling the referee here, most likely something about it taking a nick on the way through, let's check that out.''

RV - ''Ehh.... That is very light but it does look like a very light touch from Eseork happened before the ball went out by the crossbar.''

JB - ''Just barely noticeable, should be given as a corner here.''

RV - ''And the Edsmon corner is now being set up. Maartin Stuero is there to take the kick.''

JB - ''He sends it in... AND IT'S A BRILLIANT HEADER BY SAZ-CERNISQIVAR! ONE NIL IS THE SCORELINE!''

RV - ''You just can't be surprised, Edsmontik's first corner, and they play it so well. Marvic Saz-Cernisqivar is an obviously good choice to pass it in to, because he's just super accurate with his heading. Nothing that Benkssar could do in that situation.''

JB - ''One nil is the scoreline, but the question now is, will the Eagles hold it for the rest of the game, or will they concede their lead?''

45+1'
RV - ''It is chaos in the Edsmon half here. The Ardelarkians really want an equalizer here, and they're going all out before halftime.''

JB - ''It's with Norvalnckr.''

RV - ''Some good passing here between the Ardelarkian midfield.''

JB - ''And that's a good thing about large midfields like we see here with Edsmontik and Arklanda, lots of passing options. The only concern is if you can still incorporate enough attackers or defenders. Midfield controls the game, but you gotta have someone to send it to that can power the ball to the back of the net.''

RV - ''Looks like Arklanda is trying to find Larbi open here.''

JB - ''It's a nice pass in by Aidal- It's a foul! Larbi is down, and that might just be a penalty!''

RV - ''And he didn't even have the ball yet, Edsmontik has to be careful when in these situations. If they get too aggressive, they could be trailing as the second half starts.''

JB - ''Let's see what the referee says here.''

RV - ''It's a yellow card to Lerden Shouzvenkreden, meaning that unfortunately for the Edsmon Eagles, their opponents have been awarded a penalty.''

JB - ''Not what you want when you're only leading by a goal. They'll be right back at square one if Sabmar Lankiv does not stop this penalty.''

RV - “Larbi is here with the ball. It’s a lot of pressure on that striker with away fans behind the goal there.’’

JB - “He takes the kick... AND IT'S SAVED! SABMAR LANKIV WITH SAFE HANDS ON THE BALL!'”

RV - “Diasappointment for Arklanda going into halftime with that missed penalty, either way, great save by Lankiv, and Edsmontik can take a breather.”

53'
JB - “Both teams are making substitutions now, Edsmontik is bringing on the 25, Odem Reuhans for Darion Verto, the 16.”

RV - “And coming on for Berraoui is Salem. With fresh legs on both sides, both in the midfield position, how will this game change direction?”

JB - “Ardelark with a throw in now in the Edsmon half, what can they make of this? They’ve had some good chances earlier, and they can easily make another one happen here.”

RV - “They’ve gone long with that throw, it’s Reziki with the ball, doing well to keep it away from the aggressive Darion Ystermakt there.”

JB - “He has some options…. That’s a nice play to Larbi- WHAT A SHOT! WHAT A DEFLECTION! BUT IT’S NOT CLEAR YET! LARBI! DOWN TO SALEM! IT’S IN! ONE ALL IN THE SECOND HALF, AT THE SECOND TIME OF ASKING!”

RV - “And to note that youngster Yasin Salem just came of the bench as well, what a performance!”

JB - “The Edsmons have a lot of thought on their minds for sure as they now wonder how the hell they’re going to regain dominance over this game.”

RV - “It was in my opinion a lucky shot, the first time it was beautifully blocked out by Lankiv, but he just couldn’t get safe hands on the ball. Shouzvenkreden, who should be defending that center aisle, is just off his mark, and the ball falls to an open Salem who slots it past the still recovering Lankiv.”

JB - “While I do agree, it’s mostly on the Edsmon defense here. Even then, you still have to give props to the Arklanda team for coming up with that equalizer.”

60'
JB - “The Eagles are beginning another attack after holding it in midfield for a bit there.”

RV - “When you take a look at things, they’ve just dominated the match thus far despite being drawn with Arklanda here. They’ve had roughly 68% of the possession, that’s just what you see from Managre’s football.”

JB - “Not to mention the shots on target. We’ve seen shots from open play by every Edsmon attacker thus far. It’s not the same story for Arklanda but they are definitely keeping up well with the Indies Rank 5.”

RV - “Anyways, Ystermakt with the ball in the center. he’s advancing here, in the third quarter now.”

JB - “He’s not really passing, is he?”

RV - “It’s a nice run forward- OH WHAT A SHOT! WHAT AN ATTEMPT FROM SO FAR!”

JB - “When you consider that, which caught everyone by surprise, Edsmontik could be leading had it not been deflected there by Benkssar. Great shot from 30 or so yards out. Very close to that top corner. Not the best option, but it almost worked.”

RV - “This is what you expect from Darion Ystermakt. He’s a strong defender and delivers some of the best shots that anyone has seen, some of the most powerful ones, in fact. This man here could probably score from the halfway line if he tried.”

61'
RV - “That corner has come to absolutely nothing.”

JB - “Edsmontik are pretty exposed here at the back, but it looks like Verto was able to get that taken care of.”

RV - “And it’s another Edsmon attack brewing up, but coming right off that corner it looks like everyone’s in the box and getting through will be very, very hard.”

JB - “It looks like Rehcikt is going to try his luck getting that ball through to Reiovus anyways.”

RV - “The ball is up in the air.. it’s with Reiovus! The ball is still up! It’s the volley…”

JB - “IT IS IN! ONCE AGAIN, EDSMONTIK PULL UP WITH A VOLLEY LIKE THEY ALWAYS DO! YOU CAN’T GET A GOAL TO TAKE THE LEAD ANY OTHER WAY!”

RV - “Right, just look at that, off the volley the ball very barely curves there through the sea of defenders, a great touch by Reiovus, and good work by him to keep Noufel away as well.”

JB - “When you ask for Edsmontik, this is what you get. Right off the back of a corner kick and a long range attempt, the Eagles find the back of the net.”

RV - “The question now is, what do Arklanda have left to show against the Eagles?”

70'
JB - “When you think of an unranked team, you usually don’t see anything like Arklanda. They’ve been playing a well balanced game with the attacks that come in when the Eagles just slow down. A lot of smaller teams that are still developing start off all over the place. Arklanda is different, they’ve got potential.”

RV - “Look at that, they’re already on the attack once again, that’s a misplaced pass by Reuhans.”

JB - “Stuero’s doing some of the dirty work here, shoulders and pushing against Skarl, and it looks like they’ll be calling that as a foul by the Edsmon Captain.”

RV - “To be honest, Skarl goes down a bit easy here, but a foul is a foul. The Sand Cats have a well placed free kick now, and they just need to get it through to equalize.”

JB - “On comes Benzor Norseden for the yellowed Shouzvenkreden.”

RV - “They should have started Norseden from the start. The Edsmon defense has been mostly all over the place without him and Javarqa.”

JB - “What matters right now is how Skarl is going to be placing this kick into the box. Edsmontik will have to be careful here.”

RV - “Skarl curls it around for A HEADER BY ABDELSAMAD AND IT’S JUST SHOVED WIDE BY LANKIV! What a reaction to just barely push that out!”

JB - “That was very, very close. The Eagles are lucky here that they did not concede that. That ball should have been in the back of the net. Most other keepers wouldn’t have been able to stop that with all of the pressure.”

73'
JB - “When you give up an opportunity like this, you have to be careful. It hasn’t been long since their last free kick, but they have one again.”

RV - “Take a look at this foul, this one by Darion Verto with the late tackle to earn him a yellow. that’s the second Edsmon yellow of this game.”

JB - “Unlike their last one, this one is much closer to the net. Edsmontik will for sure be having a hard time defending this one.”

RV - “Even so, the Edsmon wall is a lot of men, but the Edsmons do have extras lying around in the box in the case that one of them pulls free.”

JB - “Yeah, and Edsmontik hasn’t conceded directly to set pieces in a while, have they? They’re good at defending corners and for sure they can defend free kicks.”

RV - “And it’s kicked up by Skarl. It’s a nice HEADER! DEFLECTED BY LANKIV! IT’s NOT OUT YET! I CAN’t EVEN SEE WHO HAS IT ANYMORE! BUT IT’S IN THE BACK OF THE NET! ARKLANDA HAVE DONE IT! THEY’VE FOUND THEIR SECOND EQUALIZER!”

JB - “It was definitely captain Reziki with that, you can see him get a touch there after Lankiv’s deflection and just with his other foot slam it into the back of the net. Benner also comes sliding in but he’s only able to get a foot on the ball after it’s gone in.”

RV - “At this rate, Edsmontik might draw the game with all of these equalizers. Arklanda is keeping up well with the Eagles today.”

79'
RV - “It’s with Maartin Stuero.”

JB - “Now it’s with Utravak.”

RV - “What do we think of the 22 who just came on here?”

JB - “Utravak is definitely a strong player, better than Reiovus in my opinion. he’s fast on the ball and has a lot of power behind his shots. Reiovus is more on the physical side but he’s still growing. Utravak also has a lot more grace behind the ball as well, and we see that in his club games.”

RV - “Yeah, let’s see if he will be able to perform the same way today.”

JB - “It’s with Svaardaen.”

RV - “And it’s sent out wide for Maartin Stuero to handle. The cross is sent in… Utravak controls it! He’s making a run- WHAT A GOAL! HE JUST TAPS IT INTO THE CORNER OPPOSITE FROM THE DIRECTION HE’S FACING! EDSMONTIK CLAIM THE LEAD ONCE AGAIN!

JB - “It looks like he makes a run up here on the left side and drags Benkssar with him, so instead of placing it into the left corner where it would be deflected, he goes for the right corner. Thing is though, he doesn’t hit it the way you’d expect, and goes for a rabona-style driven shot into the net. What a piece of skill by the striker.”

RV - “There was absolutely nothing Benkssar could do, but the defense definitely could have done better. Had somone been there, the shot could have been cleared out.

89'
JB - “We are here at the closing minutes of the game. It looks like Edsmontik is bound to win this at 3-2, they’ve been defending brilliantly and holding up the ball to get the Ardelarkians to wear themselves down.”

RV - “Indeed. And they’ve still been going on the attack.”

JB - “That’s out for an Edsmon throw in the Arklanda half.”

RV - “And coming on for Edsmontik’s last substitution of the game is the 4, Ivikt Javarqa for the 9, Beridien Benner. Benner has had a great game and looks like he’ll be coming off to keep the defense fresh with Javarqa.”

JB - “Ystermakt brings the throw in out to Stuero, the Eagles’ captain is making a run! It’s a pass to Svaardaen! It’s back to Stuero! He’s going in! AND IT’S CURLED PASS THE KEEPER FOR A 4-2 LEAD! AN EXCLAMATION POINT TO CLOSE THE DOOR ON ARKLANDA!”

RV - “Wait a second here, it looks like the referee is calling for an offside check on VAR. Let’s take a look ourselves, shall we?”

JB - “That might be offside but the camera angle isn’t perfect. This will be a very close call, and if it’s offside, the Sand Cats of Ardelark still have time to make a comeback and draw the game in stoppage time.”

RV - “And the referee is making his decision. It appears that is has indeed been called offside, thus 3-2 the score, Arklanda are still in this.”

JB - “It’s unfortunate for Stuero because he’s had so many shots today and nothing’s gone right for him, whether a deflection or the crossbar. He was barely offside here, just the tip of his foot, but everything is measured down to the millimeter so that’s the way it has to be.”

90+4'
JB - “The game is almost over. Edsmontik have less than a minute to hold their lead and Arklanda less than a minute to draw the game. What will they do now?”

RV - “It’s with Larbi just outside the box here.”

JB - “Nice move by the Arklanda striker to pull through past Reuhans, but he will get some shirt pulling in response.”

RV - “No call by the referee, and the ball is passed up to Abdelsamed who will try to do something here.”

JB - “It’s a cross inside… beautifully headed out by Javarqa but it’s not clear yet- WHAT A STRIKE BY LARBI! AND IT’S ALL LEVEL AGAIN! THERE’S NO TIME LEFT! THAT’S THE FINAL WHISTLE!”

RV - “What an effort from a little far outside the box there, Lankiv is just caught off guard there and dives a little late, thus he can’t reach it and it slots right into the bottom right corner. What a goal.”

JB - “It’s an exciting match to open up the IAC, a 3-3 draw with all of the upsets and cheers that you could want in a game. Stay tuned for other matches, live on ISN. Next up at 4:30 we will begin to stream Crpostran vs. The Golden Throne in the Crpostair Arena.”

DEAD WRONG
A Percival Hawthorne mystery
Chapter One - Beginnings

The first thing you should know is the dead aren’t as helpful as you’d imagine, crossing over the mortal threshold doesn’t seem to convey any omniscience, it doesn’t really seem to change anything apart from the obvious, they remain who they were and aware of what they knew. Which means they carry the same beliefs, the same biases, and importantly they hold the same grudges, the same secrets.

All this means that my job is not as easy as you think it is, I can’t just ask what happened as they may not know or I may not even be able to trust what they say. Ah the first thing probably should have been who I am and what I do, my name is Percival Hawthorne and I’m a Detective Inspector for the St Cirith police homicide department and I’m able to see and communicate with the deceased.

The other wrinkle as with the case in front of me is that the dead don’t stick around, even the case of a traumatic event they tend to linger only a couple of days, where they go to for the most part I have no more answers than you, although sometimes where they go in just simply somewhere else in the world, unlike the movies the dead don’t seem confined to the place where they passed, (although the odd effect of the movies is those people who’ve passed since them assume they can’t leave so stay in one place without even trying to do so). It’s rare but there are those who stay on this side of the veil for weeks, months and even years. There doesn’t seem to be any particular thing that determines how long they stay, however the longer one stays the harder it seems to be for them to leave.

What that means in a city the size of St Cirith there is a small community of the deceased, of which, as far as I can tell, I am the only living person who can see. When I was younger I went to see mystics and mediums hoping for some guidance on my gift (or curse depending on the day), but all I found no matter where I looked were charlatans. As the only person who can communicate with them and enact changes in the living world, you might imagine me hounded by them. However most of them respect my boundaries, and although the research on others like me didn’t turn up anyone it did lead me to some old books of magic that allow me to handle those that don’t respect my boundaries. Unfortunately it’s the only bit of magic I’ve ever gotten to work, so sadly no endless riches for me. But as I say most respect my boundaries, and I’d even call some of them my friends.

Although there was no sight of the unfortunate chap, well no sight for me anyway, I would have to rely on the old fashioned detective skills, although I would supplement them by putting the word out in case anyone had either happened upon the fellow or even witnessed the incident, though normally if someone had seen what had gone down they’d have sought me out by now and according to the corner they’d been dead over a week. There was no identification on them, nor did there seem to be anything on their person at first glance, however a more thorough inspection did turn up one thing, a ticket stub for the recent football match between Tanirinthia and Lankeshmati game, my first clue to follow up on.

Not a loss, not a win, but a secret third thing...

In their first match of IAC 26 against Raspotochje, the Eriadnian National Team has produced a result which, while technically competent, did not reassure fans and followers. Those who watched the Eagles take on WC101 qualifiers know that there's nothing this team likes more than a draw. Sure, a draw feels like a win when you're behind and the team rallies late to close the gap, but it feels far, far worse when the team lets a lead go. Unfortunately for the Eriadnians, this was the latter.

Proving that 2-0 really is the worst lead in football, Eriadni played a different game each half. Was it overconfidence? Was it a disastrous team talk? Was there something in the team's breakfast? Speculation is rampant, but there has been little forthcoming from the squad and support staff except an unflinching resolve to do better.

The first half was Eriadni at their best. The passing was slick, the timing excellent, the tackling was precise and the intensity was there. The squad was locked in, working hard and working together, proving exactly what the team could do. A quick through ball from Chang Yun in the 13th minute gave a great chance to Bai Yanyu, who neatly fired the ball in the back of the net. While up, the team did not relax, and continued to bring the game to the opposition. Despite a dogged defence, the Eriadnians added another one to their tally when Shen Lanfen headed in a ball rebounding from the woodwork following a Wen Pengfei strike. Such a goal in the 43rd minute looked to give the Raspotochjeans a mountain to climb, and the team was in great spirits at half-time.

In stark contrast, the Eriadnians spent most of the second half trying to make the mountain as easy to climb as possible. While the first ten minutes were passable, the team looked increasingly shaky on the ball from the 60th minute, as Raspotochje found their stride. Suddenly it seemed as if the Eagles had abandoned the midfield, and their opposition starting breaking into the box with greater and greater regularity. A horror pass from Li Liqin placed the ball firmly at the opposite winger's foot, who swiftly brought Raspotochje back into the game. From there, the game was a near rout, with the Eriadnians playing increasingly desperately to hold onto a lead. Despite the exhortations of Coach Li, the team seemed unable to find the rhythm that they had just moments before. For a time though, it looked like physicality and rigid defence might save the day. It was only in the 85th minute that the Eriadnian defence was caught unprepared for an opposing breakthrough and an excellent low drive put the ball past Long Xiaolian for a second time.

While a draw keeps Eriadni still in reach of a place in the round of 32, this match really was one that the Eagles could have, and should have won. Playing the indomitable Drawkland next, the team would be lucky to take a draw against the top seed, and a win against unranked Kaulkia could be enough to send the team through. However, Eriadni and Drawkland have draws from both matches they've played and it remains to be seen whether either side will be able to eke out a result. The Eagles are going to have be at their best to keep the Kick Corps contained, and while disappointment must be fresh on their minds, there were a lot of positives to take from their first half in the IAC.

Cheetahs to continue using Pixies' Debaser as pre-match music

Debasis Garg is gone, but his legacy lives on in one respect for Libesia's national football team. The Zwangzugian was appointed head coach of the Cheetahs in what was wildly believed to have been an administrative error, a situation compounded by the Libesian Football Federation then immediately forgetting to actually take part in any competitions with Garg at their head for several years. He was finally on hand for World Cup 101 qualifying, but by the end, bureaucratic issues had finally been resolved, allowing him to secure his exit visa. Mr. Garg (we assume, we never actually checked between his legs) is thanked for his many years of service.

During his tenure, the team took to using Pixies song "Debaser" as their pre-game music, in a nod to his name. For their first match of the IAC, arrangements had not been made to discontinue this, so despite Busar Hamidi now in charge, Kim Deal's iconic bass line blared out at the Sauftunderarena in Edsmontik. Barely had Joey Santiago's ringing guitar chords finished, but Alex Brown was heading the ball into his own net as Tristan De Cunha gifted Libesia one of the fastest own goals in international football history. The Cheetahs thereupon picked up their other inheritance from Garg -- a highly defensive playing style -- and held on for a very welcome 1-0 win.

After the game, Hamidi announced that the team would continue to use Debaser going forward, as it has clearly brought them luck!

Update 1 cont.

None of you actually thought we'd stop there, did you? Yes, we're back with a part 2, and we have even more incredible stuff to discuss. We also loved to see all of you start down the many IAC-themed challenges we've put out, as well as seeing the new Aleksander Vivić card plunder almost 2000 goals across all squads in just the first day. For many of you, he'll be your best player for quite some time. We've also slightly adjusted some of the pack probabilities, after internal testing revealed that they weren't at the optimal level. Hopefully, this'll bring some more excitement into the opening process. But enough with the small stuff.

A major addition that we've decided to launch today are the inclusion of "Rising Stars" cards, available as you're reading this. This is a category reserved exclusively for younger players, who are seizing their chance to propel themselves to the spotlight. They're hungry, they're ready, and most importantly, they're very good. Remember, the biggest decision for the release of these cards are real-life performances. For a player to get a card, they have to have a good game in the actual tournament. Which leads us to another major feature: Academies.

This is how you can put your knowledge and foresight into good use. In each player's academy, they can reserve up to 3 players under the age of 23 as their own future stars. This selection must be done before the final group stage matchday begins in real life. If all three of those players end up receiving a "Future Stars" card, users with those players in their academy can select one of those cards for free. If you really think you know who's going to have a breakout tournament, this is the place for you to prove it. And there just might be a sweet reward waiting for you at the end.

Another major feature we're adding will bridge the gap between CUT and other game modes. Throughout the tournament, there'll be a special IAC Competitive League. This PvP mode will be just like normal Competitive League, except for one major difference. The 5% of players who reach the Elite League by the final whistle of the tournament will get to port over 3 CUT players of their choice into Career mode, allowing them to use those upgraded versions of those players in their offline careers. This will make any team instantly stronger, and it doesn't stop there. You can add 3 additional CUT Indie Heroes to AI-controlled teams in Career mode, enabling you to chase them through transfers and assemble the greatest squad of all time. So get out, take on challenges, and prove that you're the best in all the Indies.

The player images were generated using AI, but the actual cards were designed using a tool on a website, ie there was actual work involved.

MATCHDAY 2: STEADY AS IT GOES
Aphrilia 1 – 0 Tristan De Cunha
(Morgan-Keynes 14', Andreas-Torres = 67')

THERE WILL BE NO ISSUE WITH IT
Leonardo Bianchi is no longer surprised with what was revealed to him the night before the game against Tristan De Cunha. Was he meant to be? No, of course not.

When it was first revealed to him that Theresa Villa was a Teñvana, he was particularly surprised. Not at what Theresa truly was, but at the fact they kept it secret from him. Though considering the circumstances, it was perhaps understandable. The existence of "Okiri" was still being questioned within Eluwa. And while some people continue to theorize, as long as there was no public sighting or confirmation, things should be alright. After all, Theresa being a Teñvana is a well-kept hidden secret only the important figures are privy to.

Victor Andreas-Torres brings a whole new level of confusion, however. He quickly picked up on Theresa being a Teñvana before being told. And the reason for that, alongside Bianchi's unreasonable gut feeling about him was simple. Victor is merely the opposite side of the same coin Theresa is on. As in, Victor was also an Okiri, of the other kind. A Kariaha.

The story of Teñvana and Kariaha was... Confusing. Of Demons and Angels... Bianchi wasn't too well versed in the history of Eluwa itself. He knew of The Great Insurgence, the conflict that would create Aphrilia after a small sect of nobles decided to take the opportunity to split from the Empire. He knew there were three main sides in The Empire, Revolutionaries, and Theocratists. Though from what Theresa and Victor had revealed to him, perhaps there was much more he hadn't known about. But should he know?

Bianchi doesn't think he needs to know. All that he understands is that Kariaha and Teñvana have underlying tension against one another, one that's naturally built into their system.

Their senses become heightened, emotions rile up, a sudden urge to strike out. Those are only some of the symptoms of this tension, "Mmenyeujo" or "Terror" as the two races have labelled. But for Bianchi, this wasn't some insane supernatural phenomenon that he was seeing firsthand (Even though it really is). To the Crpostranian, it was just another issue that he would have to deal with as the manager of The Anchors. But the solution would be solved later, as Aphrilia had that game against Tristan De Cunha.

And while some had questioned his decision, swapping the entire starting eleven to see how everyone plays was worth it. They still got the win, and Bianchi found some useful data. Silvie Grace-Holtzer was looking like she'd become Steven O'Truffet in the sense that she'd gel well with whoever her partner is for the defense. Her intellect allowed her to quickly analyze the situation within the backline and adapt to the playstyle of who she's playing with. And with Victor, Silvie was more outgoing and aggressive.

Hannah Morgan-Keynes scored the early goal with a volley from just outside the box. What was once a player who had emotional volatility turned it from a weakness into a strength, that temper flaring up in perfect controlled bursts. Kevin Lacey was as much of a workhorse as he usually was, and Hendrick Meyer-Bertrand was finding good shots even if he couldn't score. Of course, not everything was an up. Lucia Strauss's habit of drifting inward may be useful against wingers that cut-in and teams that play narrow.

But if Aphrilia is up against a team whom deploys wingers that stay wide, Lucia may not be the best fit. There were also wrinkles with some players, but more training can iron it out.

With that out of the way, Libesia is all that remains for the group stage. Bianchi decided on one thing for this training session. He wants Victor and Theresa training together. He needed to see if this "Terror" between Teñvana and Kariaha was truly non-manageable. It would also provide some information on how the phenomenon even works.

So while the two were trying to manage their Terror against one another (With Edward Elliot and Erica Gillingham keeping watch in case it came to blows), Silvie approached him to reveal some news. Whilst still a university player and not being tied to a professional club, Bianchi has come to learn that university players who garner enough attention often get signed to play for a club once they graduate. Silvie was a rare exception, being picked up by one as a freshman. And the news had been made official. This was not something he needed to give input, as it was her choice. And plus, Silvie likely talked about it with her parents. The manager can't object.

So he gathered everyone, pausing training to make the announcement. Silvie Grace-Holtzer will become a professional, playing for Darlingtown Rovers once she graduates.

* More than 40% are Left-Handed, due to a widely held belief that if you cannot write with your right hand, that you would do better as an athlete or as an artist than in academia. Despite several years of government campaigning to stop this, the superstition still exists.
* Safiloa is a fully plant-based nation, and the National Team is always expected to visit animal sanctuaries and animal shelters when visiting new places to bring attention to how bad the situation is for animals outside of Safiloa. Safiloan clothing, merchandise, and even their hotel room furniture must all be plant-based.
*Matrimony is not government regulated and does not provide any benefits in Safiloa. Most Safiloans never marry, and Safiloans are sexually very libertine - Safiloan star athletes even more so. It is fairly common after major wins outside of Safiloa for there to be an unreasonable uptick in babies with partial Safiloan heritage.

[b]Matchday 2 RP!

The King takes a Brace, Equalising the game!

Veconne: It was another fantastic matchday after 2-2 draw against the strongest side of the group, Bostopia, which was placed #20 in IAC rankings.

The atmosphere was definitely fire, as hours before the match, fans and ultras had already came out with flares and pyros, banging team buses, give them a warm greeting, wishing them luck for the upcoming match.

As the match was about to begin, the stadium was filled with Yellow, Orange and Blue. The Yellow Monkeys decided to wear their Blue away kit to avoid clashing with arrogant Bostopia.

Although the ultras of both sides were loud and distracting, the match went anyway. However, it did not start the way Marbleland wanted.

At the 6th minute, the Bostopian attackers found a hole in the adapting Marblelanian defence. Midfielder, Van Lincley, goes on a 2v1 on Hasbel and Cohen . He made a through ball to Kurtis, Kurtis dribbled pass the defence, Van Lincley ran into the corner, attracted a defender towards him. Kurtis found Waiete, rolled the ball smoothly to Waiete, Waiete gets into the box, took a lovely shot and put the ball at the top corner of the net! And the Orange took the early lead!

At the 25th minute, the Yellows almost conceded again, as Kurtis made a powerful strike, but Lucas Berfam, made a beautiful, lucky save, denying an extra goal for the opposition.

But the one-goal lead did not last long, it was about to double. At the 45+2nd minute, right before half-time, Bostopia slotted another goal, hoping to bring the Marbles' morale down.

The fans were a little disappointed, but not the players. After a quick team talk, the players regain their strength, and decided to play some quick, short passes, hoping for a build-up.

It took a few minutes before Marbleland's first chance came. Ethan Billings led the attack, dribbling past dreamy defenders, giving the ball away to Jamal Marquez. Marquez saw space in front of Leicester, shoots it, but the keeper rushed in to catch the ball.

A corner came at the 61st minute, As Jamal took the shot, he chipped it high into the air, it landed on Harrison's head but the bal was pushed up above, and behind the crossbar by old Patrick West.

But with the constant attacks coming in, Marbleland's attackers kept spreading the defence away from each other, making communication harder and making breakthroughs easier for the Yellow. By the 79th minute, the Bostopian defence grew weary. Daniel Nottingwood took the oppurtunity to make a full-out attack, with fiery chip from the half-way line, it landed beautifully on the captain, Raja Matusaleh's chest, he turned around, passed it Leicester who was wide open, and Leicester scored the first goal for Marbleland, burying the ball at the lower corner of the net.

Suddenly, there is revival, there is hope for Marbleland, but can they equalise it, or will Bostopia hold on to the end.

Bostopia attempts another attack on the 88th minute, as Ian Pershaw made a long pass to Kurtis, Kurtis chipped, Ferns dashed in, headed, but the ball went off wide! It should have been a clear goal for Bostopia! It was an unlucky try for Kyle Ferns.

With that, Lucas Berfam quickly rolled the ball the ball to Daniel Nottingwood, Nottingwood to Cohen and to Hasbel, Hasbel tricked his opponent, dribbled left, passed it to Billings. Marbleland had launched a counter-attack. Marquez zoomed by, signalling for the ball, but it was instead passed to Wilkins, distracting the defenders, Wilkins made a quick pass to Matusaleh, Matusaleh to Billings, and to Harrison. Harrison ran into the box, faked the shot, Patrick West fell for Harrison's trap! Harrison rolled the ball gracefully to Matusaleh, and THE KING SCORED A BRACE TO EQUALISING THE GAME!!! The score was officially 2-2 by then!

Marbleland attempts a final push at extra time. Marquez throws the ball to Billings, Billings to Harrison, Harrison back to Billings, Billings chipped it. John Leicester came in, but Mick Langholm tackled him. At first, it looked like a clear penalty for Marbleland, but after further VAR review, it turned out Leicester dived before Langholm's leg glided in. Nevertheless, it caused some tensions and scuffle at the bench and stands, at least not for long.

After 4 minutes of added time, the night ended with a draw, a win-win situation for both team as they both gain a point in standings.

The next match would be against the weakest side of the group, Polaxia, the rookies who drew with Bostopia and lost to Archalit recently. Can the Marble Monkeys shine once more? Or would the Polaxians create a major upset?

Interviews 2:

Interviewer: A fantastic draw today, as Marbleland made it 2-2 against Bostopia. Well, for today, we have the unofficial KING of Marbleland, please welcome, Raja Matusaleh!

[cheering]

Matusaleh: Thank you! Thank you for having me.

Interviewer: This would be a rather short one. So, Matusaleh, or should I call you Raja?

Matusaleh: yeah, I'm fine with anything, you can me Raj, Raja, Raja Matt, Mat, Matty, Matu, Saleh, or even Sal!

Interviewer: Damn, that's a whole crazy lot of nicknames! Anyways, so, what do you think about the game?

Matusaleh: I mean, it was ok. We kind of slack at the first half, but at least we made a comeback later.

Interviewer: What do you think could be improved there?

Matusaleh: I think the coach should have, uh, made some substitutions, you know, at the umm, 20-30th minute, you know.

Interviewer: What do you think about your coach?

Matusaleh: Coach Joe? He's an old man. What I mean by old man, umm, is that, umm, uh, you know, tha- that type of old man you regularly see in, in the streets, like white hair, slouchy, but I mean, he is a wise man, he is an experienced footballer, he knows how the game runs you know, he had coached international teams, he know tactics, and yeah. He's a bright guy.

Interviewer: So, what do you think about the team, in general?

Matusaleh: The team, well our squad, umm, well, I think Coach should give the others a chance you know, most of the time it is just the most talented, or the best of the squad are playing, I am not saying the others are trash or lousy, but, you know, everyone here is good, I think we just need to give them time and umm, support, umm, you know, time, they need to prove to the world why they are the top 30, chosen for this tournament.

Interviewer: Just curious, how is Enoch Barack and Ryan Goldbridge doing?

Matusaleh: Umm, Goldbridge, is improving, he is, recovering, but Barack, uhh-

Interviewer: Is he alright?

Matusaleh: umm, no.

Interviewer: Oh, dear. So-

Matusaleh: He will be retiring from football.

Interviewer: Damn, that's sad...

Matusaleh: I know, though we were rivals, we were best of friends.

Interviewer: Well, umm, thank you for coming to the interviewer, I guess. Rest well, and, good luck for your next match, cap!

Matusaleh: yeah, thanks.

Marbleland's ultras --- The Yellow Yell-o Wall
An Introduction

I just read a factbook about Edsmontik and I just found out how similar out two nations are.

We are just as friendly as the Edsmons. We hate illegal immigrants and terrorists. We love politics. We are patriotic and love our military and police. And most of all..... we love sports, especially football.

We have a huge league system, a national team, fans, an Association and what more.... an ultras

an ultra? What is that?

Ultras are a passionate, fanatic group of fans who usually occupy a section of a stadium, usually the back of a goal. They would do anything to bring good football vibes and support their team no matter the weather. They are usually known of being loud, shouting chants, banging drums and waving scarves and flares.

The Ultras originate from Italy. The first Italian ultras groups were formed in 1951, including the Fedelissimi Granata of Torino. The 1960s saw the continuing spread and development of the culture with the formation of the Fossa dei Leoni and Boys San groups, the former often regarded in Italy as the first full-fledged ultras group (associated with violence). The term "ultras" was used as a name for the first time in 1969, when supporters of Sampdoria formed the Ultras Tito Cucchiaroni and fans of Torino formed the Ultras Granata. The style of support that would become synonymous with Italian football developed most during the 1970s, as more groups formed, including the radical S.S. Lazio Ultras in 1974, with a strong predominance of fascist slogans and chants amongst other groups such as Hellas Verona supporters. The active support of the ultras became more apparent, in contrast with the "traditional" culture, choreographic displays, signature banners and symbols, giant flags, drums and fireworks became the norm as groups aimed to take their support to higher levels. The decade also saw the violence and unrest of Italian society at the time overlap with the ultras movement, adding a dimension that has plagued it ever since. The ultras movement spread across Europe, Australia, Asia and North Africa during the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s, starting with the countries geographically closest to Italy.
(taken from wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultras)

The Rise of the Ultras

Before the league had officially been set up in the mid 20th century, football was already a popular sport in Marbleland. The idea of ultras came during the early 1990s, mostly inspired by European football culture. By the mid 1990s where respective top-tier clubs started to have their own group of passionate fans. New Lias have their NewBoys; Malek Ravi Rovers got The Drummers; and LockWood FC got their The Beavers.

Later on, in 2010, about a dozen football fans who have been supporting the national team for their lives came together and formed the Yellow Wall, inspired by Borussia Dortmund. Their numbers quickly increased to about 8 million by 2015. Today, there are about 42 million active Marblelanian ultras, they call themselves the Yellow Wall or simply, the Yellow; while regular football fans called the group, the Yellow Yell-O wall, because of their constant thunderous voice.

What caused such popularity?
Marbleland is a far-right nation, but it wasn't united, there were many racial riots and unrest happening during the early years of independence. That changed when The Union Party(Now known as First Union), came into power, bringing people after multiple races together. The ultras are also made of mostly far-right nationalists. The Yellow Wall, brought many people of different colour and religion, but same patriotic viewpoint together.

Besides patriotism, many young people during the 2010s support football, but feel isolated due to supporting different clubs. The Yellow Wall unites fans of all Marblelanian clubs, as its motto says: "we are one tribe, the Yellow Monkeys."

So it's political?
Yes, it is. I said it just now, that majority of the ultras are far-right nationalists.

Why Yellow Monkeys?
The Marble Monkey is Marbleland's indigenous monkey species which thrives in our rainforest. In fact, it is a beautiful creature, with a mixture of white, yellow, orange, brown and black on its skin, representing diversity in Marbleland.

The Marble Monkey is also a strong creature, it can use its tail to hold it's body weight

Pre-match RP 3

About 91 million Marblelanians have arrived in Edsmontik to spectate the match.

In Veconne itself, over 35 million have arrived and about 50,000 would be entering the 70,000 over seated stadium, including 20,000 Yellow Wall members.

Outside Pyskastadt, the stadium where the clash between Marbleland and Polaxia would be held, millions of fans had gathered outside waiting for the team bus.

As for our own players, Goldbridge is recovering well, and could be fit for the upcoming knock-out matches. On the other hand, unfortunately, legend Enoch Barack's injury was too severe that he would most likely retire from football.

While there are good vibes among various interactions of fanbases, the meeting between the Eagles and the Monkeys didn't go as smoothly. Several viral videos showed that the Edsmons and the Marblelanians fans clashed after a "heated argument"

The Marbleland Football Association quickly apologised for its fans' bad acts.

Good luck Marble Monkeys!!!

Rovenza draw 0-0
Richard Elfwick: Welcome back to our analysis of the Rovenzan National Team. We just witnessed them draw 0-0 to Libesia, gaining our first-ever IAC point. Xander, your assessment?
Xander Harrison: Well, we played really well. We were the better team, I think, although it was certainly close. We controlled the midfield and Arnolds and Ugetha both should have scored. Our defence was strong and yeah, unlucky not to get the three points.
Richard Elfwick: And Arnolds’s individual performance?
Xander Harrison: Much better. He controlled the midfield, his passes were lethal, as were his dribbles, and he should have scored. I can not believe he missed that shot in the 70th minute.
Richard Elfwick: I agree. Let’s here from the tactician, David Alfrederick. So David, how would you rate your team’s performance?
David Alfrederick: Very good. We were world-class and should have won the match. We didn’t, but we were solid, controlled midfield, created strong attacks that made it look like we were going to score every time we got the ball. Overall, excellent.
Richard Elfwick: How about the teenage sensation, Zayne Ugetha? How did he do?
David Alfrederick: He was one of the best three players who played for us today. The others being Arnolds and Igerson. He was able to cut through the opposition defence and create opportunities. Full credit to Libesia, I must say, they played well as well and could’ve won the match just as easily, although I think we had the slight edge and deserved three points.
Richard Elfwick: Very well. Sounds good. Now, let’s welcome team captain, Zachary Arnolds! Zach, how was the game?
Zachary Arnolds: It was brilliant. Our first ever IAC point and still the ability to qualify for the Round of 32. That’ll drive us on in the final group stage match. We were solid and unwavering, we had lethal attacks and I think we deserved the three points.
Richard Elfwick: And your individual performance?
Zachary Arnolds: Better than against Aphrilia. I was able to find my usual rhythm and mindset, and I helped the team, I think, although Ugetha and Igerson were definitely the best.
Xander Harrison: And you. Give yourself more credit.
Richard Elfwick: Now, David, what do you think about your final group stage opponents?
David Alfrederick: Well, they’re in Pot 2 so they're closer to us in rank than Aphrilia bur further than Libesia and they’re still strong. Unlucky to lose their first two group stage matches, but little pressure for them in that match. It’s a game that we will be playing for a win in, especially as a win is required to qualify for the next round. Fingers crossed.
Richard Elfwick: Xander, your assessment of our next opponents?
Xander Harrison: They’re not bad. They’re a ranked team, so better than us, and they lost their first two group stage matches against Pots 1 and 3. We only managed a draw and haven’t scored a goal either. So we shouldn’t be overconfident- but David’s right, they should be playing for a win, not a draw. It is a must-win game for them to qualify for the Round of 32.

Richard Elfwick: Thank you. It’s been a pleasure but unfortunately our analysis ends here. Have a nice day and enjoy the match!

Zayne Ugetha was exhausted. Physically, mentally, everything. He could barely make it to the team hotel, he was that dead. When he made it to his room, he collapsed on the bed, lying there, panting and gasping even though the match had finished ages ago. There was still another match of the IAC to go… he could not bear it. His team had depended on him to score a goal and he failed. In the 58th minute, he should have scored. He remembered the moment.

“Here!” he shouted to Arnolds, who looked up and chipped the ball to him. Using a step over, he managed to nutmeg the first Libesian player in front of him, then chipped the ball back to Arnolds. Arnolds lobbed the ball over to the edge of the penalty area. How was Ugetha supposed to get to that? Calling upon every muscle in his body, he sprinted to where the ball landed and took the ball around the keeper. Unfortunately, he was now slightly off-balance and drifted a bit wide than what he would have liked. It doesn’t matter, he thought. I can score anyway. Taking the shot, he slipped just before impact and the ball hit the top of the crossbar and bounced over. He cursed, but he was on the floor and had to stop himself from colliding with the advertisement board. He should have scored.

Zayne Ugetha returned to the present with a loud sigh. He had let his team down in a game where neither goalkeeper was really tested. Suddenly, he heard a knock on the door and then Tom White, a young midfielder who had played for the same club as him in the previous season, came in. At the sight, of Ugetha lying on the bed, panting, he grinned. “That exhausted?”
“Aren’t you?” Zayne replied, trying to finish getting his breath back.
“Hmm, let me think,” Tom replied, pretending to think. “I’m not sure. I’ll have to ask the manager whether I’m tired or not.”
Zayne laughed. He could always cheer him up, even in the darkest of days. Tom White sat down on the bed next to him and looked directly forwards, not staring at anything. Probably thinking, as he did most of the time. White was like Zachary Arnolds, smart, skilled, and a leader. In the future, of course. He wasn’t going to become captain at the age of eighteen, but when he grows up… As for Ugetha, himself… he didn’t really know. Was he a leader or a follower? Could he be a captain in later years? It was possible. But first of all, he needed to perform. And perform he was going to do.

David Alfrederick called his players around him. “Boys,” he said calmly and patiently. “We could’ve won that game. We had 60% of possession. And yet only one shot on target?” His gaze searched around the circle of players. No-one dared to speak. There was a moment of silence, then he carried on. “Before the IAC, we scored in every game we played in. But now… no goals? Not even one?” Silence again. Letting out a frustrated sigh, Alfrederick then added. “But it’s not that bad. Although our attack has been… questionable at times, our defence has remained solid. Come on, it’s time to train. And then let’s beat Tristan de Cunha and qualify for the Round of 32!”
“Rovenza! Rovenza!” was heard amongst the players. They were ready.

After the training session, Edward Igerson approached the team sheet the manager had just put up tentatively. Would he be starting for the match against Tristan de Cunha? The piece of paper said this:

Group K - Matchday 2
Choppyhausen vs. Aamathyr

Hello and welcome to the 2nd matchday of the Independent Associations Championship 26! We’re here in Neurejn, Edsmontik, waiting for the start of Choppyhausen’s match against Aamathyr. Both teams lost their opening match, so three points here at Merqaza Whole Foods Stadt would be all the more important for both of them.
And these are today’s squads:
Choppyhausen (4-2-3-1): Weiner-Kracht - Bender-McKay, Holdenbeck, Haferkreis, Oak - Castell, Finch - Keil, Lukeson, Iduna – Corte
Aamathyr (5-3-2): Satrin - Tithrilan, Arjor, Thontyen, Tyrrprun, Swamtiip - Sutwa, Lifiva, Pytzhish - Shovot, Rumat

KICKOFF

1' We're underway – the ball is rolling!
3' Swovacjaaspeal Aamathyr are known for their ultra-defensive style of play. Combined with Choppyhausen's rather underwhelming attack (especially in the IAC), this could turn into a bit of a dull affair.
5' Just like against Tumnia, Choppyhausen have started with plenty of possession, but the Thyr have done a good job of keeping them away from their penalty area so far.
7' The first attacking move from the Team in Teal: Finch releases Iduna down the right, and he makes it all the way to the byline. His cross, however, sails out of play.
8' Satrin launches a long goal kick. Holdenbeck and Pytzhish challenge for the header near the halfway line. The Choppyhausen defender catches Pytzhish with an elbow to the neck—completely accidental, but a clear foul.
9' Yellow Card | Choppyhausen
Milo Holdenbeck
Holdenbeck goes into the book for the elbow. The right decision, although it does leave the centre-back walking a disciplinary tightrope for the rest of the match.
11' It doesn't even take two minutes before Aamathyr have given the ball away again.
14' That's the best chance of the game so far! Castell threads the ball through Aamathyr's deep midfield line to Keil, who flicks it first-time to Corte. He immediately feeds Lukeson, whose shot takes a crucial deflection off Arjor and loops just over the crossbar.
15' Keil and Bender-McKay try a short-corner routine, but it eventually trickles behind for a goal kick.
17' Nyturr flicks on Satrin's long clearance into the path of Shovot, who's suddenly clean through on Weiner-Kracht's goal. But the Thyr captain hesitates for just a fraction too long, allowing Haferkreis to slide in and make a vital clearance. A huge opportunity goes begging for Aamathyr.
21' The game has settled down again. Choppyhausen are knocking the ball around without much imagination.
23' Lampe tries his luck from distance, but his effort flies well wide.
25' Half of the first half is gone, and Aamathyr have apparently decided they'd like a spell of passing the ball around in their own half as well. Chances remain few and far between.
29' The perfect snapshot of this match so far: the Choppyhausen supporters are cheering on a pigeon in Aamathyr's penalty area that's playing with a plastic bag blown onto the pitch, and getting closer to goal than any player has managed for quite some time.
32' Huge cheers as the pigeon actually nudges the bag into the Aamathyr net! Satrin had absolutely no chance!
36' Rumat floats a cross into the Choppyhausen box, where Shovot could have taken the shot himself, but instead goes to ground. Loud appeals from the Thyr players, but the referee waves them away.
37' Choppyhausen break immediately: Haferkreis sends a long ball to Iduna, who squares it to Keil just outside the area. His shot is heading for the corner, but Satrin gets full stretch to tip it behind. What a save!
39' Iduna takes the corner. Tyrrprun clears only as far as Castell on the edge of the area. He takes a touch before firing narrowly past the outside of the post.
41' Two excellent chances for Choppyhausen, and neither involved a pigeon! Nobody would've predicted that.
44' Yellow Card | Aamathyr
Arjor dwa Sitvamp Nwatwishre
Arjor arrives late on Finch just short of the halfway line and catches the midfielder on the ankle.
45' Goalless at the break.

HALFTIME

46' Back underway! I hope you've managed to grab some refreshments during the break, just like I did, because we're all set for the second half of this... well, "thrilling" might be pushing it... this important football match.
47' The Merqaza Whole Foods Stadt we're in today is basically a department store with a football stadium built inside it, so getting something to eat at half-time wasn't exactly difficult... Still felt a bit strange to walk out of the stadium immediately into an aisle of grocery stuff, though.
50' It looks like the pigeon didn't switch ends with the players. Has it signed for Aamathyr now?
52' First good chance of the second half for Choppyhausen: Keil delivers from the left, but the cross is just too high for Corte and reaches Iduna on the far side instead. He hits it first time from a tight angle, but Satrin gathers comfortably.
53' Satrin goes long again, but this one sails straight into touch.
54' Substitution | Choppyhausen
Henry Sastrawinata ↑↓ David Bender-McKay
55' Bender-McKay appears to have picked up an injury without any contact and can't continue. Hopefully it's nothing serious.
57' Sastrawinata immediately injects some life into the game! Combining well with Castell and Keil, the left-back works his way into a great crossing position and whips the ball into the box. Corte cleverly lets it run for Lukeson, but his shot is too close to Satrin, who tips it over the bar.
59' Aamathyr deal with the resulting corner.
62' Compared to the Tumnia match, Choppyhausen definitely look more inventive going forward today. The finishing just isn't there yet. And Satrin has been outstanding.
65' Substitution | Aamathyr
Enwar dwa Ooshlov Sjordatre ↑↓ Tyrrprun dwa Shjantra Cjshengjotre
Divrrjo dwa Shulla Nanwacjre ↑↓ Tithrilan dwa Smodcja Rravoonre
Njammoos dwa Zhurrvyl Mwenttshatre ↑↓ Nyturr dwa Shyzhytmir Nanwacjre
66' Fresh legs for the Swovacjaaspeal. Can Aamathyr offer more going forward now?
68' Not yet as Choppyhausen are on the attack again. Lukeson dribbles past three defenders on his own and even manages to poke the ball through to Iduna. Instead of shooting, though, Iduna tries to square it for Corte, and the pass is cut out. He probably should've gone for goal himself.
70' The expected goals make for interesting reading: Choppyhausen lead 2.12 to 0.39. But only actual goals count, and it's still level at 0-0.
72' Substitution | Choppyhausen
Nico Lauritz ↑↓ Jule Corte
Julius Cory ↑↓ Andre Finch
Nick Arietta ↑↓ Dominik Keil
73' Choppyhausen also make a triple change for the final twenty minutes.
75' The pigeon has now scored its second goal of the day. Even Weiner-Kracht was powerless to stop it.
77' Divrrjo brings Arietta down just outside the penalty area. Not a nasty challenge, but it's a perfect position for a free kick.
78' Arietta takes it himself and comes agonisingly close. It's struck beautifully and crashes off the junction of post and crossbar. Still no breakthrough!
80' Goal for Aamathyr (0 - 1)
Njammoos dwa Zhurrvyl Mwenttshatre
And there we have the opening goal! As has happened so many times today, it all starts with another long ball from Satrin. It finds Lifiva, who bursts forward before whipping a cross into the middle. Haferkreis clears from inside the box, but only as far as the substitute Njammoos. They decide to have a go from 15 metres, and what a strike it is! An unstoppable shot that flies into the top-right corner. What a goal!
82' Another goal conceded by Choppyhausen in the final ten minutes—and this time they're behind! Can the Team in Teal find a response?
83' Arietta beats two defenders down the left, but his cross is blocked behind for a corner.
85' Things are getting a little heated here in Neurejn. Choppyhausen are convinced Enwar handled the ball after the corner, but the referee instead awards a foul against Lampe for bringing down Divrrjo moments earlier.
86' Yellow Card | Choppyhausen
Henry Sastrawinata
Sastrawinata seems to have a little too much to say to the referee and goes into the book.
88' Aamathyr have everyone behind the ball now, throwing bodies on the line to protect their lead. Can Choppyhausen find a way through the Thyr wall?
90’ Cory chips the ball to Lauritz, who produces a brilliant backheel into the path of Lukeson. The 22-year-old tries to return the favour, but Enwar steps in and hacks the ball clear.
90+1 There will be three minutes of added time.
90+2 Choppyhausen are throwing everyone forward now. Arietta wins another corner on the right, and every single player is inside the Thyr penalty area. Surely this is the last chance.
90+3 Castell swings the corner into the middle, where Holdenbeck wins the header. But Satrin is there again, claiming the ball with confidence. That should do it.

FINAL WHISTLE

And that's it! Choppyhausen lose their second IAC26 match against Aamathyr and now things are starting to look a bit bleak. The Team in Teal is not out yet, but they will have to win their last group match against Safiloa (once again here in Neurejn and hope for a good result between Aamathyr and Tumnia. Not the position, coach Merrit's team wanted to be in at this point.

IAC 26 - Matchday 2

Choppyhausen
Tumnia

0
1

⚽︎ Njammoos 80’

Was eine Parade!
Wieder nichts!
80‘ TOR FÜR AAMATHYR (Njammoos dwa Zhurrvyl Mwenttshatre)
Was ein Tor.
Kommt da noch was vom Team in Teal?

Rovenza 0 – 0 Libesia
Yellow cards: None

LFF apologizes for failure to print player names on shirts

IAC organisers may have regretted assigning the Ankester Stadt, one of the largest and most prestigious stadiums in Edsmontik, to the Group O clash between 70th seeds Libesia and unranked Rovenza, who conspired to play out a goalless draw of fairly stultifying tedium. Zachary Arnolds was denied by the post and Zayne Ugetha could only skim the crossbar from a tight angle after a well worked attacking move left Thusago Mothanka stranded out of position, while the Cheetahs’ best chance came when Hervé Nzadi was left unmarked at the back post from a corner but couldn’t untangle the whipping in-swinger from his feet. Mothanka was otherwise only forced into a couple of routine saves, while Sebastian Yorkel in the Emeralds’ goal touched the ball only twice in the first half, once coming smartly off his line to cut off a promising attacking run from Benoît Kono after Yub Ahmadi’s long ball split the Rovenza defence.

In the second half Bhekumuzi Bhekinkosi had a decently powered but tamely placed header denied from short range, and the game was perhaps summed up by Diamonde Baba spending two of the added four minutes lining up his free-kick, only to drill it straight into the ankles of the Emeralds’ wall. Rovenza controlled possession by an almost 3:2 margin but were unable to convert the advantage into meaningful opportunities on goal. Busar Hamidi praised the performance of Barthélémy Jong Yowa, whose performance in the “Makélélé Role” was probably the major positive the Cheetahs could take, but expressed concern that Prince Kassab, who left the game in the 60th minute with a shoulder injury after tangling with Edward Igerson, may not be available for the final group stage game against Group O top seeds Aphrilia. Perhaps the most notable feature of the game was the Libesians inexplicably taking the field in nameless jerseys, leading to some difficulty in identifying individual players. The LFF have apologised for the printing error.

New Bradman Shocked By Fausto Gonzalez Hattrick
New Bradman 2-3 Jaliserra
6' F. Gonzalez
17' M. Mitchell (T. Dry)
33' F. Gonzalez (D. Cerezza)
51' S. McNeill
87' F. Gonzalez (M. Go)

In a huge, buzzing crowd at the Bramley Road in Crpostran, our boys in Red and Navy were shocked by Jaliserra after a late winner from Fausto Gonzalez securing his hattrick off a cross from Madison Go. Earlier in the game Gonzalez went on a marauding run to score solo after chipping Arlo Horner to make the score 1-0. Soon after that Maxwell Mitchell scored off a weighted through ball from Thomas Dry to even it all up, but Fausto clawed it back to 2-1 after a looping cross from Jaliserran captain Dimitra Cereza on the right wing was struck with verve into the top left corner. Sebastian McNeil almost scored a true captain's strike after Jacob Gilbert struck the crossbar, only for his strike to be deflected off the keeper back at his feet for a tap-in goal. But alas, Fausto Gonzales shocked New Bradmanians everywhere as he broke the heart of the fans with a well-deserved hattrick. Jason Taylor sent his assistant, James Long to the interview, which is below:

⁂

"Mr Long, Akio Katsuta from the Ryukawan Daily Star, how do you feel after that result?"
"I'm as upset as the fans. I thought we could at least steal a point, but Fausto was untouchable out there."
"Do you think it's time to revisit your tactical approach?"
"I'm not going to debate that right this second, but that is a question with some merit to it. Next interviewer?"

"Alan Martin, Kingswood Tribune, where do you see the team headed from here after that defeat? Especially with that gauntlet being thrown vis-à-vis the Baptism of Fire."
"We've had cold water thrown on our plans, and I think our hubris has definitely played into our defeat. We are mathematically eliminated, but we've got one more game we will try to win for some KPB ranking at least."
"That's a fair assessment, and yet, those that doubt you and have seemingly been proven right,, what do you have to say to them?"
"C'est la vie. It is what it is. That's football. I'm done on this topic, anyone else?"

"Kazumi Aikawa, Itavran Observer, what's your opinion on the General Assembly proposal by Alex Lang being on track for debate on the WA floor?"
"It'll be good for New Bradman's international stature no matter what happens, and I support Adult Literacy, but this feels off-topic."
"Understandable, do you have any idea what's going to happen to the NBFA and NBFL presidencies?"
"I've heard that we'll be having that campaign during the Baptism of Fire. Next question?"
"Finally, I asked this question of Mr. Taylor and got no response, why now for Nexxus to return to the NS World Cup?"
"This is a presser about New Bradman. Nexxus Drako no longer has any relevancy here. She's not involved in any way."
"Okay, I understand. But people will be demanding a proper answer."
"You are literally the only person asking this question, and I suggest you change your agenda."

Journal of Jason Taylor

The journal was found thrown in a bin outside Bramley Road stadium, with many pages torn out.
Most of what could be recovered are crude tactical diagrams and a page full of expletives.
It appears he was using his journal to trial some ideas, and lost his cool. There will be no more journal entries.

Around The Newsmedia
The newspapers had not finalized any headlines at the time of posting, and this segment is due to be retired ahead of the Baptism of Fire.

MATCHDAY 2: "Die Erlösung (Salvation)"
Arklanda 0 - 3 Großlöwenburg

In Touve, Austrankank - PreMatch
Dulle looks around. Itzel staggers along behind him, with Alina to his left. She fans herself. "Well, that was great, wasn't it?" Dulle nods. He thinks back to the hours before, when they had set out in high spirits to explore the another aspect of the city. To see everything... or well, as much as possible. Touve is huge. Maybe not as big as Dulle’s hometown, but still huge. Löwenburg (City), the capital and primate city of Löwenburg, is simply monumental. And perhaps that’s partly why it feels even more like home. Itzel catches up, panting; his massive bulk really isn't built for distances like this. But as the saying goes in Löwenburg: "Where there are paths, there’s a wandering Löwenburger." And you certainly see quite a few Löwenburgers in the city today. Dulle has been in the capital of Edsmontik for just under four days, and the number of people in yellow and white keeps growing. Dulle has already run into several Legio fans, though fortunately, everything has remained very calm. Calm. That’s how Löwenburg’s last match went, too. They managed a draw against The Golden Harp, the team ranked 25th in the IAC. A... well, very boring match. Even Legio played better back when they were scraping the bottom of the table. But things did work out in the end; the defense was rock solid. You have to give credit to the "-3 tactic," then, it has already achieved its primary objective against a favorite.

Now, however, they are up against another underdog. Alina has her phone out. She quickly swipes through the photos of Dulle and Itzel taken a few hours ago at the Edsmontik Tank Museum. Even though no one in the small group is an expert on the subject, you can always have fun.

"Okay, let's take a look," she murmurs. Her browser is open now, searching for the route that will take her, slowly but surely, toward the stadium. Dulle turns away from the river and faces the massive skyline. From her small viewing platform, she has a fantastic view of the sprawling city, and of Touve’s Superarena. It is a gigantic structure. From a distance, it is slightly reminiscent of the King's Team’s King's Field in Löwenburg, though it outshines that venue completely thanks to the sheer brilliance of its blue LEDs. Standing in the middle of this vast park, the arena is truly impressive!

Today’s match is against none other than Arklanda. Like Löwenburg, the Green-White-Blues are currently unranked and competing in IAC 26. That might not sound particularly exciting at first, but it signifies one thing above all: passion, and a real battle on the pitch. Just like Löwenburg, this team, dating back to 1936, is making a comeback after a long hiatus from international play. And, as with Löwenburg, their opening performances are fascinating to watch. On a more serious note, however, the pressure is now on Löwenburg to deliver. Following their solid draw against Golden Harp, the national team needs to push on and, effectively, secure a win. This is their chance to pull away from the pack and keep their hopes of advancing to the next round alive. Yet Arklanda will be harboring similar ambitions. An incredible 3–3 draw against the formidable Edsmontik in their opening match might dampen expectations, but who knows? Perhaps the new tactical system can work wonders.

'1
The ball rolls.

'10
Löwenburg early on strong in possession, trying to figure out the Arklandan defensive lines. Christopher on the right side, surging forward to the end line, then pulling back again. Passes back to Ziegler. Ziegler with a quick turn, passes the ball diagonally into the box. Ludwig, having waited for such a ball, sees the ball pass two defenders, surges forward and intercepts it before the goalkeeper. WIth a calm chip over the keeper, the ball lands in the goal. GOAL FOR LÖWENBURG!

'11
The celebration is hot. The first international goal after 19 years has been scored! And of course by noone else, but Ludwig von den Linden. The top scorer of the national team.

'13
Now, the Löwenburg national team has found fodder. They increase their attack.

'13
The Golden Harp stays unmoved, continuing their aggressive play style, trying to play out their superior team and player complexes.

'22
Löwenburg with stronger ball possession. So far keeping the opposing attackers away as well.

'31
Löwenburg tries again, this time quickly over the left side with Franziskus. A quick match in the middle, Ludwig shoots the header shortly above the crossbar. Unlucky!

'32
But as well as this attack was, Löwenburg gets pushed immediately into defense again. The team runs back and Meine manages to intercept the ball before any worse happens.

'38
Now again, Löwenburg attacks. The ball is lost.

'39
But Zanzokavic, a work horse of the team, fights the ball back. The team pushes forward once more.

'45
Now with possession in the opposite half of the field. They play and play, but for now Arklandas defense stays consistent. No gap like for the first goal is found, the posession lost. The first half is over. Now its time to increase the pressure once more, making sure to actually keep one goal ahead. Or the opposite? Lock everything down in the deepest haram ball? We will see, what Peter von Neustein brings out next half.

HALFTIME
'49
Four months into the second half. Löwenburg immediately has taken control of the posession again, trying to dominate.

'53
And it seems to work well. Löwenburg continues with pressure on the opponents.

'56
The ball lands near Ziegler. An elegant turn and he has opened himself room, he finds Ludwig and pressure passes. The ball connects and Ludwig immediately plays back, in the new formed gap after ripping open the defending line. Ziegler, who started to run after the pass, tricks the ball through the legs of a defender and with a clean shot in the bottom left corner, scores the second goal! GOAL FOR LÖWENBURG!!!

'62
Löwenburg takes the pressure a bit back.

'68
Arkanda attacking, but the defensive line holds.

'74
Löwenburg in swing again, having most of the posession.

'83
The match slows down. Arkanda walking against the bulwark, Löwenburg confidently playing it down.

'90 +3
Most fans having already contented themselves with a 2:0 win, incredible. But in a last surge of activity, Liechtenstein pushes the ball to Heiß, who, without stopping, runs and runs and runs parallel the line. He switches back and passes the ball in the middle who Zanzokavic. Zanzokavic, turning up, immediately passes the ball to uprunning Ludwig who, turning elegantly, decides to shoot and brings the ball in the top right corner. An amazing goal. The whistle is blown. The team played perfect!!!

The Cabin
Ludwig von den Linden stands shirtless in front of the camera. Still slightly flushed, he grins broadly at the lens. "Yeaaah," he bellows loudly. The presenter, Laura Iseling, laughs. "So, Ludwig, a truly fantastic game tonight. What’s the mood like in the dressing room?" she asks, glancing toward the locker room, where more mobile phone footage is set to follow. Ludwig leans down and speaks into the camera. "Well, it’s just fantastic. The atmosphere is amazing, and we’re incredibly pumped. It’s... unique, almost historic. We’re celebrating tonight, and naturally, we hope you’re celebrating at home, too." The camera briefly cuts to Löwenburg, where a crowd has already gathered in front of the city's "Siegessäule" aka Victory Column.

Laura turns back around. "You heard it. The atmosphere is electric. Löwenburg is buzzing with excitement; the tactics seem to be paying off, right? Back to the studio." She remains on screen for a moment longer before the feed returns to the Sport11 studio. A modern studio desk sits in a sunken area; this is the smaller secondary studio of the sports channel Sport11. The presenter, Karla Weiße, smiles, her teeth gleaming. "Thanks, Laura. Now, moving on to the rest of the program..." She turns at the desk toward the man standing to her right. It is Petr Anders, a Sport11 pundit and passionate football fan. "Petr, what do you have to say?"

"Thanks, Karla. Well, quite a bit. I hardly know where to start," he laughs. "It... worked out perfectly. We put in an incredibly strong performance, so composed and assured. We dominated our opponents for the entire match and handled any other chances that came our way with total confidence. I was already pleasantly surprised by our new defensive setup in the first game, and yeah, I think Peter von Neustein has really started something good there. The initial friendlies were pretty mixed, especially considering we weren't exactly playing against the elite of world football. We played against other unranked teams and still took a beating a few times. We heard... well, a lot of criticism along the lines of: 'Why doesn't he rotate the squad? Why aren't there any substitutions?' but it really seems to be paying off, slowly but surely. You could say that sticking to a routine and a fixed lineup is helping immensely. What’s also really crazy is that we haven't made a single substitution during a match yet. Granted, we’ve only played 90-minute games so far, but it’s still impressive. I mean, there’s always a relatively high risk of injury involved. Of course, it helps that our players have been on their winter break from Löwenburg for a while now—so they’re practically free this June, and, above all, that we have a competent team. And a willing team; the squad is really fired up. Every player can easily handle the full 90 minutes and, honestly, has consistently impressed throughout the tournament so far. Personally, I wouldn't even know which positions to rotate. That was one of the biggest points of criticism right at the start, but the squad is genuinely strong, even if I still think it could theoretically be made even stronger. In any case, the atmosphere is fantastic."

"Yes, thanks Petr for that atmosphere. Now, perhaps, what lies ahead?" "Well, really, the highlight of the group stage is still to come. It might sound surprising, but we’re playing for first place. Mind you, it’s against a massive team, a strong, successful side. We’re up against the hosts, Edsmontik. But I don’t think we need to hide. We’re definitely going into the match as clear underdogs, yet our last two results have shown what we’re capable of. We beat Arklanda, whereas Edsmontik only managed a draw. On the flip side, they beat The Golden Harp, while we only drew. I think it’ll be an exciting match, though the odds clearly favor Edsmontik. We need to defend cleanly and carefully, and then make good use of our absolute dream striker, Ludwig von den Linden. If we do that, we’ll get a result."

And with this momentary capture, we end the broadcast!

Le Courrier de Saint-Jean-Jacques-sur-Mer

Crpostown, N.C.T., Crpostran - After a huge win against Britonisea, the United Empires of the Seven Seas played against The Macabees, a team we didn't took for granted. The Seafarers played hard and won decisively by the score of 5-2. Funny thing, after roughly 10 days spent in Crpospown, all pubs and bars in the city are running out of beers. Seven Seas fans are drinking too much! Which is a problem in a nation like Crpostran. To this day, 58 Seafarers have been arrested for excessive public intoxication and bad behaviour. Seafarers also kept doing the " viking row " in the stadium and public places.

The Seven Seas started strong with goals from Rodrigo Guénette-Velazquez and Rose Van der Jagt at the 4th and 13th minutes. The Macabees reduced Seven Seas' lead at the 26th minute on a goal by Fuster Castro. The Kraken scored a goal on a corner kick before halftime when Xavier Maisonneuve-Tranchemontagne takes the kick and Tor Øivind Urdahl heads the ball past Líam Jer'Voos. The score was 3-1 at halftime. The Seven Seas didn't sit on their lead and counter attacked at the 62nd minute when Anna-Rose Blouin made a long pass to Lily-Rose Malboeuf who dribbles with the ball and makes a lateral pass to Rodrigo Guénette-Velazquez who kicks it inside the net. The Seafarers increased their lead at the 82nd minute when Haley Dockendorf Salazar passed the ball to Yann-Maël Simonet who kicks. It's a goal! The Macabees scored in added time when Fuster Manberek kicked the ball into net net on a penalty but it's too late for them and the Seven Seas won 5-2.

With 2 matches played, the Seven Seas are tied with Crpostran with 6 points in 2 matches. Both teams will fight for the first place in group B at the end of the month. The winner wins the group and the loser takes the 2nd place. Because Crpostran is by far superior on paper, we can expect the Seven Seas to lose this match.François-Xavier Moineau will be unavailable for having two yellow cards and a red against The Macabees. Krzysztof Olkowski will replace him in the starting XI.

From a stunning start, to a midway setback and hopes for a miraculous closure
of the group stage—Ardelark's chances of a knockout round presence remain on thin line.

With the last matchday of the IAC 26 group stage approaching, Ardelark's performance delivered some sort of an emotional rollercoaster for Ardelarkians this week. After an epic 3-3 battle -as the Ardelarkian media described it- at Touve against the hosts. Ardelark harvested so much confidence for the next game, which featured a fellow unranked but heavyweight Löwenburg that our team must have underestimated. The standoff ended in a humbling 3-0 loss for the Arkane, a lesson learned, at such a tough cost.

While Ardelark recovers from Löwenburg's deal, hopes stay up for Matchday 3, as we face 25th-ranked The Golden Harp—Adel and the team's upcoming challenge.
No marked changes in lineups, except a classic 4-3-3 formation switch that Ardelark will adopt for this match.
