✶Roster Essentials✶

Creating a Roster is highly encouraged. Without a roster, as stated in the host bid, all rank and RP bonus that the nation receives will be set to zero until the roster is posted. A roster can be simple or complex. Some nations just list players, while others create kits, logos, and even give information about their players. The effort you put into your roster will be graded. As for what should be in your roster, it is recommended to list your players, your trigramme [this will be important in the knockouts], and permissions. Below is a code for the permissions you should have in your roster.
Code: Select all
[b]RP PERMISSIONS[/b]
[i]If my opponent roleplays first, they may:[/i]
Choose my starting lineup: Y/N
Choose my goalscorers: Y/N
Godmod scoring events: Y/N
RP injuries to my players: Y/N
Godmod injuries to my players: Y/N
Hand out yellow cards to my players: Y/N
Hand out red cards to my players: Y/N
Godmod other events: Y/N

For anyone unsure, Godmodding is RPing an extremely unrealistic scenario that would be basically impossible in a football match. A goalkeeper scoring a goal from their half would not be godmodding, however the ball hitting a bird and bouncing into the net because the government used it as a spy to win the game after being threatened by aliens would be.

✶AI NOTICE✶

As a quote from our host bid:

"AI usage for images is completely fine but must be credited. This also goes for any non-AI images that were not modified in any way used that were taken from the internet. They do not need to be credited in the form of specifics, but rather a notice that the image was not modified or created by the user. Any AI text, using AI to form ideas, and the like are all not allowed. If the user is caught using AI to write their RPs, they will have their RP Bonus and Rank set to zero for the remainder of the tournament. If the usage is deemed to have been severe, such as in the case where it was literally the deciding factor in the winner of a match, or the user has used it on several occasions to benefit them, expulsion from the tournament may apply, wherein no games will be scorinated for them and the team will be removed from the group they were sorted into. If such a team reaches the knockout rounds, the team who they are scheduled to face will automatically move on. The use of AI for translation purposes is accepted, however, the original text must be available to access through the spoiler text."

If anyone has further questions, please contact either Crpostran or me whether over discord (@e_w_ for Crpostran and @realprimeomega for Edsmontik) or in the signup thread.

Welcome to Edsmontik!

The Karmic Republic of Edsmontik, the land of cars, guns, and too much snow to handle, alongside its people and the Edsmon Fustbaal Akosqiationne, welcome all athletes, supporters, journalists, and others in their journey through the 26th Independent Association's Championship, whether through playing it, viewing it, or experiencing it in person. As the first major tournament held completely on Karmic soil, we here at the EFA alongside the Government of Edsmontik are working our hardest to make sure that you, your friends, your team, and everyone you know that sets foot in this nation have the best time possible. May our savior, Margaret, bless all teams on their journey through the Independent Association's Championship this year. Below, you will find everything you need to know as you journey through one of the two powerhouses of Karma.

Getting to Edsmontik

You might notice that Edsmontik is pretty large. Large enough that it has a huge coastline and plenty of airports in basically every city listed in the map above. Obviously, your team will want to spend the least amount of money to get here, because obviously it is necessary to be able to spend some of that money on enjoying your time here as well. So, what does one do in this situation?

1. By Plane
Easily the most popular option is arriving by plane. Once again, every city listed here has an airport, so you can just fly on into the city where your first game is played and enjoy the time there. For Ultra-Long-Haul flights, which most nations will be taking, it is recommended to fly either Edsmon Air, or Far Eastern Airlines. FEA has gone through renovations since being bought by the Crpostair Group, and generally has cheaper fares, however, your service quality may be lower. On the other hand, Edsmon Air will charge higher fares with higher quality service and comfort. You also have to be on the lookout for hubs however, as FEA only lands at the host cities Woodhill, Saufheine, Neurejn, and Vaux, while Edsmon Air lands at Touve, Yaneu, Kalse, and Emprijaal.

2. By Boat
There is no reason you should choose this option. Not only is it expensive, but also, it's time consuming. You lose a lot of fun time in Edsmontik if you come by boat, unless you come several weeks early, of course. However, for the select few who would rather travel by boat or are unable to travel by plane, travelling by boat, you will be able to stop by Kalse, Woodhill, and Yaneu.

Travelling in Edsmontik

While you're already in Edsmontik, you probably now have to travel between cities for your matches. There are several ways you can get from Point A to Point B in Edsmontik. Below, they're ranked by cost, convenience, and most importantly: speed.

1. By Train
While it does require you to pay a fare, travelling by train is easily the best option for anyone moving around in Edsmontik for the IAC. In fact, it is so convenient, that below is a map of the sections of the Vitkobenraela that you will need to take in order to reach each host city. Other parts of the line are excluded simply for ease of viewership. Before you look at the map, you should consider that Edsmontik's bullet train riding the rails here, the Sinedrone Klase 32-10S, is a very comfortable ride despite the speeds, which reach up to 275mph. It is so comfortable, that you are even allowed to stand up and walk around because the design is stable enough that it doesn't fling passengers around everywhere. The Vitkobenraela connects all 21 Edsmon provinces and has sub-lines in each province, which connect almost every city in the nation as of today. Back to the map below, you should notice that the red lines are for the national rail, while the yellow lines are the branch rails. Take the national rail to a hub city that connects to a branch line and take the branch line for the number of stops listed to get to the host city. Some host cities are already hubs, so you don't have to do the extra travelling.

Image

2. By Plane
Clevr Air is a cheap domestic airline as mentioned before. It is cheaper than buying a brand new car but more expensive than renting a car or taking the train. However, it is the fastest route by far. That is, unless your plane is delayed. Then, we have problems. The good thing about travelling by plane between Host Cities is that Clevr Air links everything together. Everything is direct. With the train, you may have to take some turns. But with how unpredictable delays on planes can be, as well as the short wait times of trains in Edsmontik, this falls into second tier.

3. By Car/Bus
If you take the team bus, it will be free, obviously. However, if you take a regular city bus, it will be much more costly. While it is recommended to take the team bus, you can also pour out some money on rental cars, which are fairly cheap in Edsmontik. In fact, some Edsmon cars on the faster end are also very cheap rentals, like the Reddor Z23, the Sinedrone Skeumach, or the Modesich Savjorn. These sedans are some of the most affordable rentals that are also fast and easy to drive. Just take them on a Suberhighway or a regular highway to your destination. With the raised speed limits of 80 mph, you should arrive to your destination quickly, unless you crash, of course. The other option for travelling by car will be to drive across who knows how many forests and back roads and mountains to get to your host city. Please do not do this unless you have a modified vehicle tuned to last the thousands of miles it will take through snow, ice, and rivers. If you really want to do this, buy a Modesich Tzvaibund with the Globbund trim, give it some skid plates, strap on 3 spare tires for good measure, and bring as many tools as you want with you. Don't forget about the team though. Make sure to bring them along. Not the best option overall, but still works.

The Weather

There's a reason why Edsmontik has avoided making Skronselen, a very nice northern city, one of the host cities. It is way too cold up there. The same can be said for all of Edsmontik anyways. The lowest temperatures you can find here are around -25 degrees Fahrenheit, and the highest is about 60 degrees Fahreneheit. Luckily for you, it's the summer, and thus, most of the cold weather is gone. In the coming months that the IAC will be played, Edsmontik is expected to hit lows of about 20 degrees Fahrenheit and highs of about 50 degrees Fahrenheit, so pack accordingly. Just in the case of a snowstorm, prepare to pack extra jackets and gloves, as well as something to offer Margaret. More information on the specific weather in your host city will be provided when we talk about those cities specifically.

The People

While Edsmons will get rowdy and aggressive at watch parties or the games, don't think that's all they are. When you head outside in any city, you'll notice that Edsmons are social, talkative, and will try to do everything they can you get you to listen to their small talk. Almost everywhere, you'll see people working on cars or bikes and assisting each other with those things. Edsmontik has a huge car culture, so if you know stuff, find a local and talk. If you ever need help with directions, they will gladly show you the way to a stadium, the airport, the train station, and other places. If someone ever comes up to you can gives you advice on where to eat or have fun in the city, you better listen. Sometimes, you'll find the best restaurant you'll have ever eaten at.

Do's and Don'ts

Anytime you go somehwere, it's best to learn what you should and shouldn't do. So here are some basics.

The Do's
Do socialize! Whatever you do, Edsmons will probably come and talk. So, go and talk with them! Many are educated enough that they might even know the language you speak. When greeting someone, shake hands! It's common Edsmon manners, and failing to do so is culturally known as a sign of narcissism and unluckiness. Even in simple conversations, the parties in the conversation will usually shake hands before ending it. Do follow dining etiquette! Edsmons are very big on being relaxed at the table, so don't stand up, shout, or fool around in restaurants. Additionally, make sure to finish your meal or take it home, as Edsmons take that as a sign of gratitude. Leaving behind food is a sign of wastefulness and greediness in Edsmon culture. Do also make sure to bring enough money, as 1 NSD is 2.3 Vdesmonyvus.

The Don'ts
Don't freak out about firearms! Almost every Edsmon has a concealed carry, and it's common for the normal Edsmon to have one. So don't worry if you see a few guns, just don't freak out and lead everyone to think there's a threat. Don't bring firearms into gathering areas, stadiums, or bars! While it's normal to have a firearm on you, there are specific checkpoints where you can drop off your personal firearm when entering a crowded area, so make sure that if you bring a firearm, drop it off there. Don't try to haggle for lower prices! While haggling itself is acceptable, it won't work because most Edsmon vendors are extremely patient and can stand their ground. They have been in the business for years, and they know when it's worth losing a customer. Don't litter! While this is obvious, Edsmontik's trash system has been updated on several occasions to keep the streets clean. Dropping your can of soda on the ground would not only anger environmentalists, but also the Edsmons around you.

Host Cities

Well, you've waited long enough. Here's some detailed information about the eight host cities of Edsmontik.

Touve, Austrankank
Located in Edsmontik's most famous province, Austrankank, Touve is the capital of the nation and the province. It is one of Edsmontik's largest and densest cities. Touve features high skylines in its center, with beautiful forest roads connecting it to other parts of Austrankank. People come to Touve for three reasons. One, to watch sports, two, to see the Deklaeder, and three, to drive along the forest roads. There are many other reasons to visit Touve, obviously, but these are some of the most popular reasons.

Entering Touve
Coming into Touve, there are several routes to take. If coming by plane, you will arrive at the Aerokonnektor oe der Deklaeder, or the Deklaeder's Airport. From there, you will exit the airport by vehicle. One very important place that you'll see while entering the Deklaeder's Airport is the Deklaederhause, which is the living and operating quarters of the Edsmon Deklaeder and his family. While it is pretty far in the distance, you can still see it pretty well if there is not too much fog or snow. You may also see the Touve Center, or in Vdesic, Kientros oe Touve. Here is a gathering spot for many people, with vendors selling street food, collectible items, souvenirs, and more. If entering by car, you will have to take Exit 23, 24, or 25 on Highway 21 or take Exit 14a on the Recha Schalz Memorallien Suberhighway. The Suberhighway is generally less congested as it is larger than the regular highway, however, as speed limits are much higher, one does have to be very careful. If entering by train, all that is necessary is to take the Vitkobenraela to the Touve Station. As Touve is a terminator station, take the train headed to Touve.

What to do in Touve
There's a lot of things to do in Touve. The Great Tank Museum is located here, with every tank ever produced by Edsmontik [only up to 2020, however] on display. While you can't touch them, you can definitely take pictures of these relics of history. What might be more fun to some would be to visit the Kientros oe Touve, which as mentioned, almost always has vendors selling street food, trinkets, and collectibles. If that isn't your thing, visit the Deklaederhause and get a tour of the exterior, where you can bother some funny-looking guards. And if that also isn't your thing, show up to a car meet, as there is almost always one happening somewhere with Edsmontik's huge car culture. Check out some nice cars, whether stock or modified, expensive or cheap as people do burnouts, race around, and boast about their metal machines. The best thing to do in Touve is to get involved. Talk with people you meet, buy things from small businesses, test drive some cars, enjoy the snow. You can't experience Touve unless you've had fun doing something there.

Touvic Weather
Touve is generally on the colder side of Edsmontik, despite being pretty far from water. If you're playing a lot of games in Touve, throughout the month of June, we'll be seeing temperatures as low as 21 degrees Fahrenheit and as high as 45 degrees Fahrenheit. However, the forcast does say that a blizzard may be coming sometime, and whether or not it hits will depend on mother nature. So, you should be packing layers, and lots of them, just in case. Even if it isn't too cold, there's always a chance of freezing rain or wind.

The Touve Suberarenae
A lot of people wonder why the Touve Suberarenae is plural. Well, in Vdesic, making something plural can also be an emphasis. Because the Touve Suberarenae seats 100,870 people, making it Edsmontik's largest stadium, the name was made plural to emphasize that. Even before it was renovated, when it had 25,000 seats, it was still named the Suberarenae because it was simply Edsmontik's largest stadium. The Suberarenae's renovation just a few years ago gives the stadium a new sleek design that is sure to catch the eyes of many who pass by it on the way to Touve. Inside is not only the pitch, but a whole mall, arcades, restaurants, and more. There's a lot inside the largest Edsmon stadium.

Emprijaal, Fortensthegr
Located in Edsmontik's most populated province is none other than Emprijaal, a city known for its rich, violent history as well as for the club team, Emprijaal Wyzvrikoni FK. The city might not seem to be very much at first, but once you learn more and more, that's when you realize there's a lot more to the city than seen at first glance.

Getting to Emprijaal
If entering Emprijaal by car, it is recommended to take Exit 26, 27, or 28 on Highway 16, or Exit 2 on the Ander Schuterrennen Memorallien Suberhighway. If entering the city by plane, you'll be landing at the Emprijaal International Airport, also known as the Aerokonnektor oe Emprijaal. From there, a car can be used to go deeper in the city, or the Emprijaal Airport Shuttle, which is generally faster, but it's usually delayed and very crowded. If coming in by train, take any Vitkobenraela that stops at either Ckinqsvallien or Porsava. These two hub stops connect to Emprijaal's Vitkobenraela Provincial Branch. If you're coming in from Ckinqsvallien, it will be 22 stops, and if you're coming in from Porsava, it will be 14 stops.

What to do in Emprijaal
Emprijaal has lots of fun things to do, however most of them involve going into the large forests. The first big thing that a lot of people do in Emprijaal is visit the Emperor's Throne, located in the middle of a forest just south of Emprijaal. It is simply a quick tour bus or a car drive away from the main city. The thing about this building is that it was filled with rebels in the mid-1900s, who wanted to take over Edsmontik and claim power. While the movement was shut down after some effort to claim the city of Emprijaal, it would become a huge part in Emprijaal history, with parades every August 2nd to pretend ''what if.'' The next thing that many people do is rock climb, as Emprijaal borders some mountains just beyond the forest to the west. Rock climbing is super popular amongst the people and tourists of Emprijaal, so give it a try if you haven't before. And if you want to have fun and relax somewhere, head to the Suberaqua, a waterpark located in the northern section of the city at 443 Keselow St.

Emprijaalien Weather
Emprijaal is generally warmer than the rest of Edsmontik because of how much forest there is. However, that doesn't mean the temperatures are any higher than 55 degrees Fahrenheit. The lowest temperatures will definitely be in the low 30s, with the high being at 55 degrees, expected during the knockout stages. The skies will usually be overcast or cloudy, so don't wait for a sunny day as they rarely come. You should probably pack layers, but not too many. Since there is rarely a lot of snow in Emprijaal this time of year, you probably don't need those fancy snow boots either.

Empironstadt
Located on the east side of the city, Empironstadt is one of the recently renovated Edsmon stadiums. It jumped from 21,000 seats to 78,560 seats with the upgrades, and now even has an underground shopping mall, accessible by the small entrance at the front of the stadium and by the many stairwells and escalators throughout the main floor.

Yaneu, Veconne
Ahh, the fresh ocean air of Yaneu. Rivals to Kalse in best tourist location, this city gets all of its attention from the huge beaches, beautiful resorts, and expensive fine dining. A lot of rich people come here, and generally, despite the rest of Edsmontik being freezing, the temperatures here are somehow very, very good.

Getting to Yaneu
By plane, anyone entering Yaneu will land at the Yaneu International Airport, which is on an artificial island. It connects to the city by subway and by road, so tourists have two options when it comes to getting into the city. However, it is to note, there are only so many platforms for the subway and so many lanes for the cars. Both entrances to the city get clogged up with people very quickly, so come extremely early in the morning or very, very late at night to beat the traffic. Entering by car, Yaneu is the end of Highway 2 and the Unter Emertern Memorallien Suberhighway, so if coming in from anywhere, just keep driving until the highway terminates into a main road. If coming in by train, you'll have to ride 13 stops from Woodhill in the Veconne Provincial Branch of the Vitkobenraela.

What to do in Yaneu
There are lots of five star restaurants and other cheaper but still fancy dining locations all over Yaneu. Restaurants like The Beach, The Golden Pearl, and many others offer a variety of special seafoods seasoned and cooked to perfection. If you would rather be active, head out to any beach in Yaneu, where you can rent a surfboard, a jetski, or even an amphibious plane which you'll fly with an instructor. While this is more on the expensive side, when you come to Yaneu, you have to treat yourself to these things. You can also book surfing lessons if you're planning to stay in Yaneu for longer. In the city, you can also visit several different aquariums featuring different kinds of marine life.

Yaneuian Weather
While Yaneu is chilly in the winter, in the summer, it's cool with a nice breeze. Expect temperatures to be starting in the mid 30s and soar up to the low sixties throughout the tournament. Wind gusts can be strong however, so if you plan to pack anything light, so be careful. For Yaneu, layers are not necessarily recommended unless you know that when you're in the city, it's going to be on the colder end. Pack beach clothes for sure, because you won't have enjoyed Yaneu unless you've been to a beach there.

Pyskastadt
On real island this time, is Pyskastadt. It's located a little more to the south and connected to the main part of the city by train. The stadium itself was designed to stand out, thus why it is uneven and not symmetrical. The huge 77,650 seating stadium has an aquatics store in the lobby, so if you want to swim in the waters after watching the game to cool off, you can always buy something quick to have fun. The stadium is named after the Vdesic word for fish, Pyska. This is a reference not only to the huge amount of seafood in Yaneu, but also the huge amount of marine life on the beaches, and all of the aquariums as well.

Woodhill, Veconne
As the name states, Woodhill is located on a hill in the middle of a forest. However, the majority of the city has since expanded since its name was given in the late 1880s, moving east, south and west. The city now borders the East Karmic Ocean and is one of the largest Edsmon cities. Woodhill is the place for a lot of things, and like Emprijaal, a lot of its tourist attractions involve going through the forest.

Getting to Woodhill
Getting to Woodhill by motor vehicle with require you to take either Exits 9, 10, 11a, or 11b of Highway 2 or Exit 1 of the Linkelen Kolestazer Memorallien Suberhighway. If coming in by plane, you will land at Capital Airport, which has kept its name despite no longer being in the capital of Edsmontik, and enter the city via taxi or walking. If coming in by train, Woodhill is a termination stop for the Vitkobenraela, and thus you can take any train headed there.

Things to do in Woodhill
As mentioned before, Woodhill is a forest city. One of the first things a lot of people do is go hiking. Woodhill has hundreds of trails scattered everywhere, going up and downhill. Some of them lead to clearings or the tops of some tall hills, others lead to souvenir shops. The best part about hiking is that it's completely free, especially knowing you probably packed your own boots and snow gear for Edsmontik as a whole. If hiking is your thing, explore the largest NSFC collectible cards shop in Edsmontik, which has trading cards of almost every football player. Make sure to pick some of the new IAC26 edition up, you'll never know if you find yourself. Each card you get can also be redeemed to get an in-game version that you can use in a match. For anyone who is jealous of those who get to spend time in Woodhill collecting trading cards, don't worry! There are plenty of small shops and NSFC stores around the nation, and there's at least one in every host city.

Woodhillian Weather
Most cities are lucky to not have Woodhillian Weather, because for some reason, Woodhill gets the worst snow out of every Veconnian city. Expect some moderate snow throughout June, and light snow through July. Unlike other host cities, Woodhill is guaranteed consistent snowing. As for the temperatures, prepare for as low as 15 degrees Fahrenheit and a high of around 40 degrees. Pack layers, because once again, it's cold in Woodhill.

Vaanstross-Keisar
Edsmontik's first soccer stadium started out as a small 1000-2000 fan amateur pitch, and grew over time. Throughout the years since it was built in the 40s, it expanded. First, it became a professional FDVL stadium in 2002 with renovations to increase its size to 18,000 seats, and now, after its second renovation, sits at 88,550 total seats. With a whole hotel inside, you can live in the same stadium that you'll play in next week. The stadium itself was named after co-designers of the 2002 upgrade Keselar Vaanstross and Reus Keisar.

Kalse, Neureckaver
Kalse is a rival to Yaneu when it comes to tourism, seafood, and all that stuff. While Yaneu is famous for bordering an ocean, Kalse borders a bay. Depending on your taste, you may prefer one over the other. Kalse itself is so large, that it is technically divided up into three different cities. There's Kalse Kientros [Kalse Central], Kalse Sauf [Kalse South] and Northekalse [North Kalse], however the residents see all three sections as the just one city.

Getting to Kalse
Kalse is not too hard to get to. When going by car or bus, you'll have to take Exit 17 on Highway 14 to get onto Skubaar Avenue, which will take you into Kalse Sauf. From there, you can drive into Kalse Kientros, and continuing on the Avenue will take you to Northekalse. You can also enter Northekalse by Exit 20 on Highway 14. There is no direct route by car into Kalse Kientros due to the density of the city. If taking the Vitkobenraela, make sure to get off at Neurejn and take the provincial branch 17 stops into Kalse Kientros. From there, to get to the stadium, you will have to take a car. If coming in by plane, you'll land at Kalse Kientros International Airport, and from there you can take a car or bus farther into the city.

What to do in Kalse
A lot of people say that in Kalse, there isn't much else to do other than explore the city, visit the tops of skyscrapers, and eat at fancy restaurants. However, a lot of these tourists are missing out on the best thing. This so-called best thing is rock climbing with cars. You can rent a car from Kalse Rock Climbers, usually a modified 2025 Modesich Tzvaibund SUV, which you can drive alongside an instructor and some friends up Northekalse Mountain in the Skronselen Mountain range. While rock climbing in a car can be stressful, always know that the instructor is by your side, and if you get stuck there's almost always an Edsmon taking the trail that can hook your car up and pull it loose. If you'd rather not use a rental, you can always bring your own car, but you'll have to pass inspection. You'll need skid plates, offroad tires, backup tires, jacks, a winch, safety gear, and more.

Kalsean Weather
Based on weather forecasts, Kalse is expected to have light-moderate snow for the entire IAC26 tournament. However, that doesn't mean that temperatures are going to be okay. While they are the lowest, they aren't that much worse than Woodhill. Kalse will be experiencing lows of 12 degrees Fahrenheit and highs of 33 degrees Fahrenheit throughout the tournament, so pack accordingly. If you plan to rock climb in a car, make sure to pack heavy-duty boots and gloves as well. If you don't have any, the main building for Kalse Rock Climbers has a store.

Beechstadt Kalse
Home of FK Kalse, the Beechstadt is located in Northekalse in a more rural section. It is between a snowy beach and the Skronselen Mountain range. Inside the 68,565-seat stadium is a huge fan mall, along with arcades, bowling alleys, and other activities. There is also the Kalse Wishing Fountain outside, which is said to be blessed by Margaret herself, so make sure to get your blessing with an offering to Margaret at the fountain before the game.

Neurejn, Neureckaver
Neurejn is the capital city of Neureckaver, and the fourth most populated city in Edsmontik. However, it doesn't necessarily have the same history in football as the other host cities. Despite that, the city is still pushing to introduce a club team by 2040's FDVL expansion to 20 teams. Neurejn is more commonly known as the Worker's City, because it has so many jobsites there. A lot of people move to Neurejn for jobs.

Getting to Neurejn
Getting to Neurejn by train is easy, as Neurejn is a hub station along the Vitkobenraela. Simply take any national train that stops at the station. By car, it is a little harder due to traffic. However, if you are taking car, you can enter the city by taking exits 6, 7a, 7b, or 8 on Highway 15. If you take the Suberhighway, you will have to take the Marvic Saz-Ipsedich Memorallien Suberhighway, and take Exit 3. When coming by plane, you'll enter the Neurejn Kaelia Dewaltz International Airport, where you can take a tram around the city. Neurejn is one of the last cities in Edsmontik to use the older Reddor Klase 14T models, and is one of the last dozen or so cities to use trams at all, so it may be slow and filled with delays.

What to do in Neurejn
There might be more normal working citizens in Neurejn, but that doesn't mean that there is less fun! Visit some of Neurejn's Fine Art museums, such as the Fine Arts Exhibit of Neurejn in the northern section of the city, and the Museum of Great Arts in the southern section of the city. You can also explore the largest glass maze in Edsmontik at 34 Kerbrokker Avenue. It will definitely take a while to get through, but you can have fun with your team and friends while at it. If you want something to eat, go to street vendors for some amazing street food, where you'll find roasted duck, deer, and some very well seasoned chicken.

Neurejni Weather
Neurejn is not too cold, but not too warm either. It's just in the middle compared to other Edsmon host cities, and will most likely stay at around the same temperature for the duration of the tournament. Neurejn is said to be around 30-45 degrees Fahrenheit, but no snow is forecasted. If you're going to Neurejn, it's recommended to pack layers but not too many, as without much wind in the city it won't feel as cold as the temperature makes you think.

Merqaza Whole Foods Stadt
Funded by Merqaza Whole Foods, the MWF Stadt was built in 2028 as a 68,000 seat stadium and has been constantly used as Neurejn's application for an FDVL team. It currently serves amateur players, but no professional footballing, until now of course. The stadium features a grocery store operated by Merqaza Whole Foods as well as a medium-sized mall above and below ground level.

Vaux, Kejvolekimol
Vaux is one of Edsmontik's two former capitals alongside Woodhill. The city itself is pretty old as a nod to the history of Edsmontik, and here is also where you will find a lot of important national monuments and some other very cool things. The province that you'll find Vaux in, Kejvolekimol, is not really known for anything other than the city, really.

Getting to Vaux
If taking a car, getting to Vaux requires getting off at Exit 25a, 25b, or 26 on Highway 18. However, it is to note that both Exit 25a and 25b will be closed for ramp maintenance until July 1, 2034. If taking a plane, you'll be landing at the Marvic Skopignan International Airport in the southern area of the city, from which you'll take a car if you want to get farther into the city. If arriving to Vaux by train, take the Vitkobenraela and get off at Kanokoro. You'll have to transfer to the provincial branch and ride 8 stops to Vaux. Due to maintenance, the provincial branch may hit a slow zone about 4 stops into your journey and then continue on normally after.

What to do in Vaux
As mentioned before, Vaux has a lot of national history all over the city. You can visit landmarks like former Deklaeder Oppern Wvilsaer's statue in the Vaux Central Square, which also serves as a memorial for War Dogs. You can also head west and hike up some mountains to see The Great Fireworks, which are set off annually on December 7th to mark the anniversary Edsmontik's unification in 1881. You'll get a full tour of the building the contains the fireworks, the way that the machine works, and other stuff. You can even bring home a firework plushie at the store. For more history, you can also head to the Edsmon Museum of history, where there are exhibits using scale models to show important moments all across Edsmon history.

Vauxian Weather
Vaux is pretty bad compared to the rest of Edsmontik when it comes to weather. The skies can be chaotic, delivering rain, snow, thunder, wet snow, hail, and all of that stuff in just one week. To make it worse, it's guaranteed that during the IAC26, we're guaranteed to get all of it on almost every day, with maybe three sunny days total. As for the temperatures, they can also be erratic, with an estimated low of 25 degrees Fahrenheit and an estimated high of 45 degrees Fahrenheit.

Ankester Stadt
As the home of FK Vaux Rejhaflik, an Edsmon FDVL team that has just never given up despite all the problems that they've ever had, Ankester Stadt is as no less abundant in seats than FK Vaux was abundant in hope during the 2034 FDVL season. The stadium currently seats 80,500 people, making it the second largest Edsmon stadium. Underneath the stadium with several entrances is Edsmontik's second largest NSFC card store, and on the ground level as well as the above levels are tons of places to shop.

Saufheine, Trosi
Saufheine is a prety large Trosian city near the capital of Trosi, which is Trosiciti. A lot of people wonder why Saufheineans never moved to Trosiciti when Saufheine was still small, and the reason is because Saufheine is known as the quiet city. It's calm, peaceful, and serene. If you look hard enough at night, Saufheine is one of the few cities where you can still see the aurora borealis. Such a beautiful and quiet city may not be the peak of tourism, but people still love to go in and take in nature. Whether or not you see it as a good thing, Saufheine will be loud for quite some time.

Getting to Saufheine
Saufheine does not directly connect to a highway but instead connects to a main road that connects to Trosiciti. Thus, if arriving by car, you should take Exit 2 on Highway 23, which connects directly to the main road, and follow signage to enter Saufheine. If arriving by plane, you'll have to land in Trosiciti at the Heart of Trosi International Airport, and take the Vitkobenraela provincial line into Saufheine or take a car in. If arriving by Vitkobenraela, you'll have to head to Trosiciti, a terminus stop, and transfer to the provincial line where you will travel one stop. Or you can head to Porsava, a hub stop in Trosi, and take the provincial line three stops.

What to do in Saufheine
There's not too much to do in Saufheine if you're impatient. Those who love nature should head out and camp in the West Saufheine Forest, or take a drive up Saufheine Peak, one of the steepest drives which will lead you to a large clearing where many people have placed stickers to leave their mark. Saufheine Peak is also a popular camping spot, with a nice view of the city. If that's not for you, go into the infamous bar, Saufheine Treat and befriend some locals.

Saufheinean Weather
Saufheine will be chilly but not freezing throughout the IAC. The temperatures are expected to stay around 30 degrees Fahrenheit with the low predicted to be 28 and the high at 35. There will be light or moderate snow most of the time, so pack enough to deal with it.

Sauftunderarena
Not many people have high expectations for the Suftunderarena, as it is the smallest stadium being used for the IAC in Edsmontik at only 50,200 seats. However, the stadium is filled with souvenir shops, food vendors, arcades, and other things. The stadium was built in 2017, and like the Merqaza Whole Foods Stadt, was meant to bring the FDVL to its home city, however, no professional clubs will be formed until the 2040 teams expansion.

Welcome to Crpostran!

The Crpostranian Football Association, the government and residents of the Karmic Republic of Crpostran along with the tourism promotion campaign, Captivating Crpostran, warmly welcome every athlete, official, supporter, volunteer, media personnel and guests to Crpostran for the 26th edition of the Independent Associations Championship. The tournament will be the first major international tournament to be held on our soil (barring the few games held at the Crpostair Arena for the 25th anniversary of the IAC). Along with Edsmontik, this is the first football tournament to be held within the Karma region. We hope you will have a pleasant stay while you root for your favourite team. Wishing all teams, the best of luck. General and important information, along with host cities and stadia information is below.

Official Map of the Karmic Republic of Crpostran

Image

Geography, Transportation and Costs
Crpostran is a country situated on the Avanti Island, shared with minnow neighbour Cothe Saria. The nation, due to its geographical location at the centre of the region, is thus aptly nicknamed, the "Heart of Karma". The nation is composed of 15 states and 5 centrally-administered (Union Territories) island territories. The nation shares a single, narrow land border through an isthmus with Cothe Saria. Crpostran's land area would total to over 2 million sq.km2 of land, with over 800 million people living in it. Being an island with varying topography, one could start from the snow-covered summits of the Zenvik Mountains in the Castellia region, go through the deserts of south Kuber and onwards onto the pristine beaches of north Kuber at Westori in under 3 hours. This varying terrain, from mountains to rainforests, from deserts to lush, fertile plains, makes Crpostran an all-weather tourism paradise. The 5 most populated cities, in order, are the capital Crpostown, Brugstadt, Valeria, Protenza and Montelago. Regarding transportation, Crpostran has an extensive and cheap public transport system. There are 13 airports designated as an international airport (i.e, permitted to service routes to international destinations. When entering Crpostran, you are most likely to enter through the Lorentz International Airport serving Crpostown. Over 2000km of high-speed rail lines are operated by zoom!, a subsidiary of thr Crpostranian Railway Company (CRC). It connects all state capitals and a few major cities with other similar cities. Cheaper and more slower passenger services are still operated by the CRC, which can be accessed to visit more inland areas of the country. Ferry lines exist connecting onshore cities with the island territories. Crpostown, Brugstadt and Port Mohan have subway systems, Montelago has trams, Bellafonte and Ravenna have light rail systems. But arguably, the best way to travel within Crpostran, is by your "own" car. Several car rental companies operate across all airports, seaports and railway stations, besides city or mall outlets. Rent a car and go on an adventure of your lifetime, made easier by our well-built unrestricted speed national highways and expressways. If you are an international tourist, you are permitted to drive without an international driving license permit, provided you have a license in your home country and is valid for the duration of your stay, upto one month. If you do not have a visa to enter the country (only if your nation does not have a visa waiver agreement with us), visa-on arrival (costs 10 florin) exists at all international airports. A typical stay at a three-star hotel would cost 600 florin/night, while the price will increase near-proportional to the increase in stars. Crpostran uses a 3-pin electric outlet, but would recommend carrying a travel adapter with you. Food, whether street, café, fast food or fine dining is cheap.

Things to do, and not to do
Before starting, we would like to put out a key piece of information. If entering Crpostran through an airline within the Crpostair Group (i.e, Crpostair, Crpostair Express, Orange Airlines, Edsmontik's Far Eastern Airlines) or through an airline within the Multiverse airline alliance, ensure you have your boarding pass with you, throughout your visit, as it unlocks complimentary access or discounts to many major attractions and landmarks you can visit in the country. Note that the Crpostranian florin is pegged to the NS Dollar (1 NSD=2.5 florin).

The things to do, are as follows,
While Crpostranians are known for being welcoming, a few simple gestures will quickly earn their respect and appreciation. Keep public spaces spotless. Many locals voluntarily pick up litter, even when it isn't theirs (not that you need to hunt for and throw litter in the trash, it's etiquette to throw waste dumped on the sides of paths into bins). Support family-owned/small cafés, bakeries and local markets instead of only visiting international chains. Stand on the correct side of escalators (right) and always allow passengers to leave trains before boarding. Learn a few basic Crpostranian greetings, locals go over the moon when a foreigner is attempting to learn/use Crpostranian (Sai! = Hi!, Saila! = Hello!, Seran = Thank you!, Ke nom ven? = What's your name?, etc.) . Dress respectfully when visiting temples, cathedrals and other places of worship/sites of historic importance. Queue patiently and respect personal space. Offer your seat to senior citizens, pregnant women or people with disabilities on public transport. If you're invited to share a drink with locals, it is considered a friendly gesture to accept if you're comfortable doing so, though politely declining is perfectly alright.

The things not to do, are as follows,
Sticking to drinking, never go overboard. Public intoxication, disruptive behaviour and excessive drinking are extremely frowned upon, and visitors are encouraged to drink responsibly. Do not consume alcohol where it is prohibited or behave in a manner that causes a public disturbance (like driving, which can get you a hefty fine). Do not haggle aggressively in shops or restaurants. Prices are generally fixed, with bargaining limited to a few rural local markets. If you have valid proof that the merchant is selling an item to you well over the limit (the maximum retail price, or MRP, is mandated on every price tag), you have the right to inform the police and provide proof (usually video or audio). While cannabis and it's derivatives are legal, the possession, sale or use of hard drugs and other similar narcotics is strictly prohibited and carries severe criminal penalties, including non-bailable jail sentence. Do not carve your name into rocks, walls or historic buildings. Please avoid blocking tram lanes or cycle paths. Possession and sale/import of firearms and other weapons are strictly forbidden. Do not tip the restaurant/café or waiters, it is frowned upon (do not fret, strong wage laws exist and are followed).

Host cities and it's stadia

Crpostown
The capital and largest city in Crpostran, by both population and economic output, Crpostown is the nerve centre and the beating heart of Crpostran. Built as a planned city during the colonial era, it is home to the Presidential Palace, Parliament, the Supreme Court, nearly every major government ministry, the country's largest financial district, the busiest airports and seaport, Crpostown is quite simply, where everything happens. A city of striking contrasts, glass skyscrapers are beside century-old neighbourhoods, promenades near to busy shopping districts, etc. The city's skyline is among the tallest in the region, while its parks, tree-lined boulevards, and coastal districts ensure there's always somewhere to escape the urban rush. Thanks to an extensive metro system, bus network, ferries, and one of the multiverse's busiest public transport systems, getting around is remarkably easy despite the city's size. Locals often joke that if it exists in Crpostran, you'll find two of them in Crpostown. It's only a slight exaggeration.

You will probably notice while your aircraft is descending into Crpostown-Lorentz Airport, a large statue of the Hindu god Shiva's avatar, the Nataraj, performing the tandava, or the dance symbolising the cosmic cycle of creation and destruction. This 180-metre tall behemoth, is the "Sentinel of Crpostran", Illuminated after sunset and visible from kilometres away, the monument has become the city's defining symbol. Visitors can reach the islet by ferry, where observation decks provide panoramic views of the skyline and harbour. Take in the skyline from the Crpostown Eye (the tallest ferris wheel in CRN) or Tour de Crpostown (tallest building in the country), history buffs can visit the National Museum of Crpostran, or visit the Freedom Plaza and the Arc d'Independence duo, two of the city's most iconic landmarks. Enjoy a walk along The Corniche, relax in Victory Gardens (the biggest urban park in the city), or spend the day shopping at Grand Central Mall.

Crpostown's two stadiums are:

The Crpostair Arena
110,000 capacity
Victory Lane, Keyspar District, N.C.T

The official home stadium of the Sapphire Strikers, the Arena is the largest stadium in the country. Boasting a capacity of 110,000 seats, the stadium was constructed in 2012 by the Government, along with flag carrier Crpostair, who was then the primary development partner of the Crpostranian Football Association. Crpostair has recently renewed an agreement to maintain naming rights to the stadium. The stadium has just completed a major renovation, now featuring a closable roof, a major park, an aesthetic and eco-friendly face-lift to the facade and more comfortable seats. The renovated stadium recently played host to several games at the recently concluded Independent Associations Championship 25 and two World Cup Qualifying games for WC101. Dubbed "The Fortress", the Crpostranian team is yet to lose a game at the stadium, with the unbeaten streak starting from WCQ96 still holding to this day, now nearing the fiftieth game mark (including friendlies). The massive stadium, right next to the landmark Victory Gardens, is located in the centre of the city.

Olympikstadion
70,000 capacity
Olympic Enclave, N.C.T

The oldest continuously used stadium in Crpostran, the Olympikstadion was established even before the Veridonian colonial rule over Crpostran, by the later Aakri Empire rulers as an arena for traditional sports like bullfighting, martial arts like kalaripayattu and public events. When the Veridonians came in, they tweaked the arena, adding more seats and a grass field rather than the traditional mud field in the year 1841. The Veridonians brought in football into the country and the "King Franco Alphonso V Stadium" (the old name of the current arena) was usually the host of such events and games. Fast-forward to the Independence War, the stadium earned a place in the nation's history books, as the Crpostranian Independence Army fought and won a crucial battle near the stadium (Battle of the Sadaus), and took down the Veridonian flag at the tall flag pole outside it with the tricolour cross. The revolutionaries eventually renamed it the Crpostranian National Stadium, and was only recently renamed it into Crpostranian language, making it the "Olympikstadion". It got a renovation in 2020,where a clothed roof and better seating was added into it, before it was once again re-developed as part of the government creating a 400-acre Olympic Enclave around the existing stadium, with the Olympikstadion being the center-piece. The renovation is now complete, as is construction of the Olympic Enclave.

Brugstadt
The oldest continuously inhabited major city on the island (12,500 years ago), Brugstadt is the capital of the Almeros state, and is the most-populated inland city.
Among the few cities with strict architectural laws, all buildings (barring those in the Free-Trade Zone, Brugstadt Aerotropolis, stadiums, universities and the Financial District) can not exceed three floors. You would feel like you stepped into a town usually seen in movies. Cobbled pathways, tiled roofs, tree-lined streets, and the corner pizzeria. The height regulations, first introduced to protect archaeological sites and the centuries-old cityscape, have become the defining feature of the city and are widely regarded as the reason behind its high quality of life. The city is divided by the river Sadaus, whose network of bridges and streets has earned Brugstadt the nickname "City of a Hundred Bridges."

History buffs would not miss the Museum of Civilisations, home to artifacts spanning over 12,000 years of various kingdoms and states, or the Hall of Chronicles, where the city's remarkable history is brought to life through interactive exhibits. Wander through Brugstadt's Old Quarter, one of the oldest oldest (and renovated to make it look like it) districts in the multiverse. For a glimpse of Brugstadt, head to the Grand Wall, one of the few places where visitors can admire the city's unique architectural landscape from above.

Brugstadt's stadium is:

The Bramley Road
89,000 capacity
Bramley Road, District 2

The home stadium of club, Brugstadt United F.C, It is the latest in a series of renovations by the CFA and the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs to upgrade sports facilities across the country. For those not aware, the Crpostranian Football Association hopes to start a brand new domestic league, including foreign players under the "Super League" project set to start by late 2026-early 2027 (might get delayed further), the association made massive investments and expenditure on completely overhauling existing football infrastructure, offering all top-three tier domestic teams to create new or renovate existing stadiums, with seventy percent of the cost to be bested by the football authority. United seized on this and accepted the offer to revamp the fabled Bramley Road. And thus, we receive one of the most radical stadiums by design. It is a complete contrast to Brugstadt's traditional architecture/skyline. Fitted with glass walls, a fully retractable roof, LED facade panels, and a hybrid pitch system engineered for all-weather performance.

Port Mohan
A planned city and capital of the state of Solara, it was meant to relieve the congestion and lack of space in the former state capital of Sarpakav. The brain-child of President Ankit Mohan (who hails from this state), he called for the need to build a new city on the East Coast, which has generally lacked major metropolises, airports or ports. Port Mohan, was the answer to that. Originally named as Udayagiri (the Hill of the Sunrise, meant to talk about being the first city where sunlight strikes due to it's position on the East Coast, the Solaran government renamed it as Port Mohan in honour of the President, for founding the city & his role in the revolution. The city recently inaugurated two metro lines, which was constructed in preparation for the IAC. The city has a fixed grid system, except around the Corniche. Each grid is designed to be it's own neighbourhood, with clinics, libraries, parks, grocery stores.

Take a cruise through Mohan Creek on traditional boats (dhow), with an all you can eat buffet, climb the historic lighthouse right next to aurell Stadium. Stroll along the Corniche, lay down on the sands of the white-sand beaches. Explore the National Maritime History Museum, or the outskirts of Port Mohan/CNB (Crpostranian Naval Base) Eaglet for seeing naval ships.

Port Mohan's stadium is:

Image

aurell Stadium
80,000 capacity
Lighthouse Marg, Corniche, Sector 4

The aurell Stadium is located in the city of Port Mohan. Having a capacity of 80,000, it's structure is inspired by the waves of the ocean. Home to FC Port Mohan, it was originally called the Presidrome, before the clothing and retail company, Aurell took home the naming rights to the stadium. The layered blue roof panels create the impression of waves, while the bright accents running between each section resemble sunlight reflecting across the sea surface. Aurell runs a factory outlet at the stadium, so take the opportunity to buy the legendary fabled denim of the company, at cheaper than market rates.

Bellafonte
The picturesque coastal city, Bellafonte is the capital of the smallest state (barring the island territories), Belport. The hub of beach tourism in the country, the city's beach resorts and coasts are among the finest in the region. The city also has one of the most aesthetic skylines in Crpostran, with a series of skyscrapers lining up either side of Gianvallo Giori Road (National Highway 83). Due to it's close proximity to both Crpostown and Brugstadt, the city is ideally located for connections to it. It also has a minor international airport, serving limited international destinations when the summer arrives through seasonal flights.

Stay at the city's various famed beach resorts. Walk along (again) the Corniche. Adventure seekers can take part in activities such as sailing, snorkeling, diving, fishing for large fishes, like the Tuna. Take a drive/walk along Highway 83, so you can be amazed by the towers. The best beach is of course, the Bay Beach. The city was also the starting point of the Independence Revolution, so it has various historical monuments, like the Harbour Memorial, where workers and Royal Navy mutineers, with the backing of the CIA (Crpostranian Independence Army) set fire to 8 Veridonian naval ships.

Bellafonte's stadium is:

Bellafonte Multi-Purpose Stadium
60,000 capacity
Blasters Avenue, Corniche, District 23

The Bellafonte Multi-Purpose Stadium is the second largest stadium in the city, with the other being the Blasters Cove, home to the Belport Blasters. However, it is under renovation (as part of the CFA's renovation campaign), so all games in the city have shifted to this smaller arena. But small doesn't mean bad. One of the oldest, and most iconic stadiums, the building uses a series of overlapping shell-like roof canopies, an ode to the seashells found along the beaches. During the evening, integrated lighting transforms the stadium into a glowing landmark. The stadium features retractable sections, to accommodate various events, like concerts and matches.

Ravenna
An inland city and the capital of the state of Kaishin, Ravenna is only major city to have gothic architecture (evident in the way cathedrals, temples have been made). While a small financial district exists with tall buildings, most of the buildings in the city are of a low-rise type. Residential neighbourhoods are filled with traditional homes, narrow streets, and older structures that preserve the city’s historic atmosphere. Modern developments have generally been designed to blend with the existing architectural style rather than replace it. Despite being the political center of Kaishin, Ravenna maintains a slower pace of life compared to larger metropolitan cities. The city is known for its quiet streets, landmarks, and strong connection to the arts and culture.

Many visitors are drawn to Ravenna to explore its ancient temples, Gothic cathedrals, museums, and public squares. Visit the Grand Ravenna Cathedral, which showcases the finest example of Kaishin Gothic design. The area surrounding Ravenna feature farmland, small villages, forests, and historic ruins. Visitors can enjoy hiking, cycling, and exploring rural life outside the city.

Ravenna's stadium is:

Stadio Della Florentina
70,000 capacity
Della Florentina Av, Stadium District

The Stadio Della Florentina is among the older, renowned stadiums in the country. Jointly used by Ravenna Ravens and the former F.C Ravenna, the stadium reached it's current look through three different phases, with the first phase beginning construction way back in 1929, four years after independence, as the planned home ground for F.C Ravenna with a very modest seating capacity of 8000, with two thousand seats on each side. Additional seating capacity was added in phase two, following F.C Ravenna lifting the domestic title and creating a large fan base over the years, leading to the stadium's renovation (Second Ring) in the late 30s. In the early 90s (pre-Second Civil War), the government decided to upgrade major stadiums to polish it's portfolio for a planned regional football tournament back then (that was later scrapped, due to budget constraints, lack of interest and the eventual civil unrest) and dramatically expanded the stadium's capacity, comfort and architecture and an eventual renaming, in honor of the state's first chief minister (equivalent to Governor in many countries) Della Florentina. Eventually, the city corporation asked F.C Ravenna in 2000 to share the stadium with the newer club Ravenna Ravens for easier running and sharing costs of the stadium. F.C Ravenna recently merged with Ravenna Ravens, so only a single clubs operates in it for now. A new stadium is under construction, while this one is tagged for demolition. This tournament could be one of the last games to be held here.

Montelago
And finally, Montelago. A winter wonderland-type of metropolis that is usually seen in Christmas movies, Montelago is in a narrow valley surrounded by snow-covered mountains. It is also the capital of the state of Castellia, the central-most state of Crpostran. During the winter months, heavy snowfall transforms Montelago into a picturesque city of white rooftops, frozen lakes and rivers (you can skate on it), and glowing streets decorated with warm, colourful lights. Being surrounded by mountains, the weather is constantly cool, without major fluctuations. Snowstorms are a risk in the winter season, but now as it's summer, it's perfectly safe to visit. Not as populated (lower than 5 million) as the other cities, there is less traffic and crowds, so it will be a pleasant experience.

Visit the famous ski resorts near the city, or go hiking into the mountains and natural parks. The city is home to one of the oldest universities, the University of Montelago (UoM). A cable car service or a zipline, for the adventurous, will take you across the city, starting from Mount Zilk to F.D Square (near the stadium), which is probably the biggest highlight of this city, as you can take in a lot of the city from a bird's eye view. At said Mount Zilk, try the sauna spa, ice and hot baths. A multitude of both open-air and indoor skating arenas exist. A 16 kilometer ride from the city into the forest range, will take you to the Olympic Shooting Range, which is where multiple athletes and leisure goers practice shooting using rifles and shotguns. You could also visit the "dangerous" Montelago International Circuit, the first WGPC-rated racing track in Crpostran, which recently hosted a pre-calendar event, marking the debut of the sport in the country. You can go go-karting or cycling at the circuit, but be wary of downhill straight slope.

Montelago's stadium is:

Montelago International Stadium
50,000 capacity
Castellia Eagles Park, Eagle District

The Montelago International Stadium is the home ground of one of the most successful clubs in Crpostran, the Castellia Eagles, which has produced many legends in the country. The MIS' design resembles that of a lotus, the national flower of Crpostran. The structure was designed with a series of white "petals" that extend outward from the arena bowl, creating the illusion of a giant lotus blooming against the mountain landscape/Merigo River, depending on your viewpoint. Each "petal" serves both an aesthetic and functional purpose, shielding spectators from harsh alpine weather while allowing natural light to filter into the concourses. The stadium features retractable roofs, heated seats, air-conditioning and a multiple-pitch system.

It is home to around 3 million people, with 960,000 or so living on the main island of Kingswood, home of the capital city of the same name. The archipelago only recently ceased being a constitutional monarchy after a republican referendum not so long ago.

They are managed by Jason Taylor, who is the son of octogenarian sports magnate Steven Taylor, both of whom had playing careers for AFC Kingswood, one of the most prestigious teams in New Bradman. Steven Taylor is now president of both the New Bradman FA and New Bradman Premier League.

Name: Großlöwenburg/Löwenburg/Lionsroar
Full name: Großkönigreich Löwenburg, Kingdom of Greater Löwenburg
State: absolutist monarchy with confederal entities
Trigramme: LWB
The people of Löwenburg are called: Burgish
Nickname: The Nobles, The Lions (preferred), The Yellow/Golden-Whites
Capital City: Löwenburg (City)

Großlöwenburg, Löwenburg (or Loewenburg) aka Lionsroar is an absolute federal monarchy with countless regional entities located in the south-western part of the region of Harg on the continent of Araseos on Valsora. The capital of the kingdom is the eponymous city of Löwenburg, located in the western heartlands. With a population of 7,772,273, it is the largest city in Löwenburg and, due to its cultural, political, and economic significance, a primate city. Löwenburg is a regionally divided entity with a federal monarchy and its administrative apparatus on top. Counties, Baronies and Duchies organise themselves in smaller territorial federations, making the government overly bureaucratic. The nation has a population of 123.6 million.

The national team usually plays at the biggest stadium of Löwenburg, that is King's Field in Löwenburg (City), home to the most successful domestic club of King's Team. Other major clubs include: Legio Löwenburg, 1. FC Kaiserclaw, FC Sturm Baltika, SK Sturm Beatrixa, Hansa Kolsche, FC Danubia Ulm, Lords and Plebs FC, FC Kingsund and the clubs from Haschborg, FC Haschborg and reigning champions SV Haschborg 04. And yet, not a single team is from Haschborg yet. A horrible oversight or something that is true in the light of recent cracks in the walls?

RP PERMISSIONS
If my opponent roleplays first, they may:
Choose my starting lineup: Yes. You can orientate yourself using above picture, as well as my starting line-up. I prefer using my starting line-up, but we might still be rotating a lot. We are an uncertain bunch of players and team right now.
Choose my goalscorers: Yes. Preferably my STs, especially Ludwig von den Linden (record scorer), but get creative.
Godmod scoring events: Yes.
RP injuries to my players: Yes.
Godmod injuries to my players: Yes.
Hand out yellow cards to my players: Yes.
Hand out red cards to my players: Yes.
Godmod other events: Yes.
To specify, its all Yes, but ... I am generally okay with absolutely everything, unless I am not notified beforehands. I plan to RP every MD, so being able to mirror what you have done, would be great. I would prefer it, if I get contacted before though, especially about the more serious content (injuries, reds and yellows, other events, ...)

Rather than multiple individual posts, this.

Six kit choices.
Variety is good.
Tiny commune where brevity's taken seriously.
Twelve squad members, each named 'Sextus'
Positive six point six recurring ...

Do as you wish.
Go crazy.
We aim to win six-nil.

AUPRUSSIAN IAC ROSTER

Image

STARTERS:
ST: Huberdeau Audac (Chromatik [CMT])
One of the best strikers in Auprussia's history, his impact has been felt on every level. Club and International, no matter the situation, no matter the time, no matter the place he's going to make an impact. His normal partner in crime Alaide Mitregasque is not on the roster as Eleo Vicard wanted to bring on first-time caps and younger players but the players beside him are very much up to the task. Known for being very easy to play with and fitting nearly every squad he's been a part of. This is probably the most threatening finisher in the Starting XI. Don't knock the distribution though, he can still pass fine enough to provide good link-up play. The fact he made an instant impact in Chromatika should indicate his class.

RW: Carafalxe Nithaire (Alexia)
A great finisher and a great passer who has managed to fill multiple roles on the wing for Alexia. Their crossing is deadly and incredibly accurate. Very much grew a lot from their first year at Alexia to be a key piece in that club's ongoing fights for titles. Their passing is the most threatening thing about their game, in their first season they racked up 20 assists fresh out of the academy. An impressive talent but their counterpart is a bit more interesting.

LW: Herraire Brisaxe-Gamblaife (Alexia)
One of the CCFA's best talents (but not the best, we'll get to them later). Originally thought lost to a void in Chromatika but just this year had been sighted and signed by Alexia. An impressive talent known for his finishing and clutch play. He is a bit of an unknown at the international level. The tools are there and he was molded by the Chromatik system but it is a huge first task internationally. Herraire might be a better version of Samuel Lithobert: a physical wing but with more pace and finishing ability. The future is very bright for this man indeed.

LM: Ven Pirennes (Grenadiers [DAN])
Whispers of "wonderkid" have abound around this initially unheralded prospect. Originally was pegged to be a star in Taxhavn and now has a lot to prove in Dantopia Division 1, but most have a feeling he can live up to it. Very technical player with great passing. Can run up and down the wing with pace and never seems to really get tired. The one thing that distinguishes him at his age is an insane work-ethic. Very much like Tiberien Bruta-Apollonoux there is a certain psychopathic fixation with being perfect (Albeit not as bad as Tiberien's). Would say this person is the x-factor but there is another one in the midfield who has even more talent (which is insane to say).

CM: Trothaire deu Fornae-Saiy (Eolorent)
One of, if not the best player in CCFA history. Finishes incredibly well for a midfielder, great passer, has all the tools to be a star man at a high level. Eolorent automatically picked him up after his time in university and he started within the year. A great talent who blossomed into an almost-superstar. This tournament could put him over the top and it's no secret that Trothaire craves the challenge and has the insane ambition as well. This guy is the real x-factor. Can do nearly everything well and showed in the CCFA that he can take over matches. Keep an eye out.

RM: Erébon Guldeaxe (Portland Pirates [DAN])
One of the least expected individuals to improve their stock, Erébon Guldeaxe had been in the doldrums of low-tier Lige 1 play to a key piece in a championship team in Dantopia and becoming one of the league's best playmakers outright. His passing from the right will bolster that side's ability to pass and play the ball aggressively. Vicard notably choose a bunch of great young playmakers to play his experimental style. Also provides a bit of bite in the midfield if it has to come to that.

LB Lora Brunhilde-Chambland (Flames of the West [CMT])
Tenacious defender who can provide good crosses if needed, Lora has been fighting to keep Flames of the West out of relegation and succeeded. Starting to reportedly become a bit more feisty in training (Could be De Ferrander and Mensbard rubbing off on her). That attitude is necessary to take on the attacks they will be up against. Especially since Vicard is playing an insanely aggressive style.

CB: Edrick Mensbard (Ostissiennes)
Rough and ragged. An annoying little pest who will just scrap no matter who's in front of him. Part of the infamous Ostissiennes defense that tortured Lige 1 for a bit. He and his partner are known for winding up opponents. Typical physical defender with a mean streak but...not as bad as...

CB: Perin De Ferrander (Unio Bonusiana [BON])
Mean, nasty bastard. Dirty through and through and Eleo Vicard's favorite Auprussian defender (Not shocking). Extremely physical and intense. He takes no prisoners, does not mind rough tackles and will talk trash to everyone. One of the most infamous forces in training as he brings intensity like no other. Strangely, has a knack for finding a clutch header more than once. Most of the Auprussian youth scene dislikes this man heavily due to his antics in the youth leagues and they fear that many may follow in his footsteps if he is successful enough. If the defense is to hold up it will be to the credit of this...person.

RB: Jean-Loc D'Irtellind (Eolorent)
One of the most unique talents from Auprussia. A great technical playmaker and can dribble with the best of them. His attacking prowess is incredible for his position and has thrown off many defenses in Lige 1. He looks to do much of the same and is probably the most fitting for Vicard's system: an attack minded fullback who can dribble well. At the club level he had been in the running for best playmaker in Lige 1 as a fullback.

GK: Morten Gallis (C) (Tijhuis Archimedes [TAX])
The captain, one of the longest tenured national team players. An incredible Goalkeeper, but a goalkeeper entering the back half of his career. A legend at Tijhuis Archimedes and a man who's stature speaks for himself in Auprussian circles. This could be one of his last International tournaments and some have whispered he may be thinking about stepping away from international play for the foreseeable future.

TEAM HISTORY
After the long Elite Eleven era, the "real" form of the Kick Corps is back. These players are elite athletes who've been plying their trade in the DLK and abroad for the past few years. The national team is now back to "normal" and this Corps team seems to really be developing. A few familiar faces, freshened by the gift of immortality, have returned. That return hasn't gone great for them or the Corps at large, with now 2 manager firings in the 5 cycles. After an IAC QF loss in her first foray, manager Diana Levitt broke bizarre impotence of Drawkland soccer in World Cup qualifying in WC99. Add another IAC final appearance (and loss) and an Olympic gold medal, it seems like the Corps is on the up-and-up.
Drawkian soccer, and indeed, sporting in general, is mostly offensive-minded. This is reflected in the style indicator and in the formation. Drawkian soccer has not really been exposed to outside influences, and thus may look or feel strange to those used to "normal" football. Nevertheless, the players are still good at what they do, and prize in an enduring game, moving the ball around nearly constantly and keeping energy going, aiming to tire out the opposing team. Of course, Drawkians aren't humans, but you can read about that elsewhere. Drawkian Soccer is a female-only sport. This is because Gridiron Football is all-male, and the other two major sports, Baseball and Basketball, are mixed-gender. If there's anything a Drawkian loves, it's even formats and symmetric paradigms, hence why things shook out like they did.

As far as these go, I'm fair game for anything. You should know what is and isn't drastic RP, and if you think your RP is on the drastic side, TG me first. But I'm still basically up for anything. Make sure you send me a message if you card or injure any of my players, just so I know. I'd like to request that injuries or cards don't do anything outside of the scope of a single game or maybe two. Don't want anything tournament or cycle-ending.

The National Aphrilian Football Association, led by Clark Thompson, are hereby proud to present...

The Aphrilian National Team for the 26th Independents Association Championship
Representing The Kingdom of Aphrilia
The Aphrilian team are also known as The Anchors

Honours: Champions of IAC 24, World Cup 99 & 100 Quarterfinalists, World Cup 101 Round of 16
Record: 111 Wins - 18 Draws - 52 Losses, 292 Goals For - 165 Goals Against

THE STAFF
MANAGER: Leonardo Bianchi, Crpostranian
Already considered a legend in Aphrilian and Crpostranian minds, Leonardo Bianchi has found much more success ever since he joined The Anchors post-World Cup 98 Qualifying. A perfect IAC run to claim the championship in his first tournament, as well as transforming The Anchors into the footballing powerhouse it is today by reforming their tactics and his own.
ASSISTANT MANAGER: Joseph Alan, Aphrilian
He has been here since the very moment Aphrilias National Team was founded. A key-man in every Aphrilian squad, for he is the voice of discussion when it comes to the teams tactics. Served as a temporary interim near the end of qualifying for World Cup 98, steering the team into some form of stability. A more passive, but still noticeable presence.
TRAINER: Amelia Haze, Aphrilian
Former player for The Anchors, part of the IAC 24 title-winning squad. A slowing body foretold her early retirement, yet forcing herself to play caused Haze to collapse during the group stage against Chromatika during WC101. Knows the ins-and-outs of training oneself, having taken great care of her physicality before fate intervened.
PHYSIO: Josh Brandway, Aphrilian
He is there, he knows what to do, and he'll do his job as asked.

THE TYPICAL STARTERS
#1 -GK- Kyra Von Kachel — Age 29 — Aphrilian — Human
One of only two goalkeepers on The Anchors, but is the one who is starting after careful consideration regarding the performances of the other keeper on the team. Kachel has grown to be a certified shot-stopper who is also a strong penalty killer. Though she tends to struggle with the ball at her feet.

#26 -LB- Alexander Burns — Age 26 — Aphrilian — Ohia-Wolfin
He isn't exactly the absolute best in his position, but is the most generalist out of the teams three left back options. Cheerful and relaxed, Burns avoids trouble whenever he is on or off the field. Do not expect him to be booked often, he is one of the cleanest defenders that The Anchors have to offer. A fine performer all the time.

#3 -CB- Steven O'Truffet — Age 31 — Aphrilian — Human
Steven O'Truffet will adapt to whoever his partner is in every partnership. He maintains the backline well and will put in the work regardless of which team The Anchors play against.

#4 -CB- Silvie Grace-Holtzer — Age 18 — Aphrilian — Human
The youngest addition to the team. First college player to be called up, and is the direct successor to Amelia Haze. Expect Grace-Holtzer to play the same way her predecessor did, by using her brain as her greatest asset. Strong calculations and reads, great physicality, and incredible level of play compared to Haze, who was only average all around.

#20 -RB- Calico Knacke — Age 27 — Aphrilian/Brunstadtian — Human
A sweeper who is great at defending. Offloads the ball forward or to the midfield whenever possible, but isn't exactly the most independent player. Follows team strategy perfectly.

#25 -DM- Ardan McKernell — Age 32 — Aphrilian/Atlanian — Human
A very technical player for someone of his position. McKernell performs well under pressure and can break himself free of whoever marks him, even if there are multiple players marking him down. His dribbling is considered to be equal to that of any forward that has flair. He also has a habit of giving his opposition "the splits" whenever he can.

#7 -CM- Jessica Rhine-Faust — Age 26 — Aphrilian — Ohia-Nekori
Captain of the team, considered a jack-of-all-trades player. She can do many things but doesn't particularly excel at anything except captaincy. The team has her respect, the staff have her respect, the fans have her respect. Drive the ball forward, score goals from outside the box, provide through passes, Rhine-Faust can do all that in a pinch.

#14 -CM- Mike Aston — Age 37 — Aphrilian — Human
Whenever Mike Aston starts, from this point onward, he won't often be substituted out of the game. Brother of Natasha Aston, he has incredible stamina and resilience. Strong as an ox.

#9 -AM- Edward Elliot — Age 42 — Aphrilian — Human
One of the Day One players for The Anchors. Edward Elliot has been class ever since he first got called up. Great at finding passing lanes and taking advantage of them, he has eyes on the entire field and will use them to his advantage. He also loves finding and creating open spaces for him or his team to use them. A constant, credible threat in every game.

#12 -CF- Theresa Villa — Age 25 — Aphrilian — Teñvana
An fantastic finisher who completes scoring opportunities once she gets the ball. Said to bring misfortune to those trying to defend against her regardless of their form.

#11 -CF- Ines Forrestal — Age 39 — Aphrilian — Ohia-Foxian
The diva of this national team, and has been involved with everything since the beginning. She has one signature trick: Go wide with the ball, cut inside to embarrass your right back, strike a curved shot, and score. She can do more than that, usually offloading the ball to midfield or crossing it in if needs be, but you know her. You know exactly what will come.

THE SUBSTITUTES
#21 -GK- Erick Keikain — Age 20 — Aphrilian/Sangonomiyan — Ohia-Grassaut
Sudden call-up to replace the other usual goalkeeper for The Anchors due to an incident some time before the start of the tournament. Untested and unproven.

#5 -LB- Erica Gillingham — Age 28 — Aphrilian — Human
Gillingham is the sort of player who will put in 110% effort when she plays. She has quite the passion for the game despite the lack of any presence on the team compared to others.

#17 -LB- Lucia Strauss — Age 21 — Aphrilian — Ohia-Shepre
Similar to Grace-Holtzer and Haze in that she uses her smarts to defend. And for better or worse, has the habit of drifting inside even if the opposing team has no players that go wide.

#18 -CB- Victor Andreas-Torres — Age 20 — Aphrilian/Garridian — ???
The newest player called up to the team. Strong and imposing with a dash of speed, but seems to be rough when it comes to defending. A much needed addition to the team.

#19 -CB- Kennedy Christonson — Age 31 — Aphrilian — Human
A player that many describe to be of the classic "destroyer" archetype. May be a bit of a defensive bully, thus he tends to pick up more fouls and bookings than the rest of the teams defensive line. However, Christonson has grown to be great at zonal and man-to-man defending, marking certain threats well. Can shut down offenses when required.

#24 -RB- Aguri Hosokawa — Age 31 — Aphrilian/Sangonomiyan — Ohia-Chevalune
The least defensive oriented fullback within the entire team, thus suffers defensively, but in exchange is also the most forward-going. Can drive up the ball on her side of the field with great control and blistering speed, the latter a blessing that all chevalune receive. Is able to beat her mark and provide crossing opportunities from her side of the field with ease.

#2 -RB- Ellie Saunders — Age 24 — Aphrilian — Human
Slower than Hosokawa, but more defensively sound and can also cross. Saunders is often playful when it comes to her defending, luring opposition players into a false sense of safety.

#16 -DM- Natasha Aston — Age 34 — Aphrilian — Human
Sister of Mike Aston, she is consistent in her form and has the ability to cover any possible weaknesses for The Anchors. Slots well in any starting line-up as either starter or substitute.

#6 -DM- Charles Arthur-Morgan — Age 26 — Aphrilian — Human
Good on the defense and is able to mark anyone man-to-man quite well. An overall solid player if not for the fact that he can be quite slow at driving the ball forward when it's at his feet and is often slow reacting towards the tempo switch ordered by The Anchor. Though in exchange, he is good at providing long through balls.

#8 -CM- Maya Gridley-Evra — Age 20 — Aphrilian — Ohia-Wolfin
The fastest player on the team besides Hosokawa, Gridley-Evra is clinical in everything she does. Passing, dribbling, everything really. However, she is often considered to be "too fast for her own good," which tires her out faster compared to the rest of the team. She also holds a bit of impatience within her, so she may move too fast or force the team to do so.

#15 -CM- Vicante Algrave-Scalese — Age 19 — Aphrilian/Garridian — Ohia-Owlite
Plays for the team adaptively in ways that benefit everyone as a whole. He fits into any role given to him well, and can do anything asked of him provided he is given support for it.

#22 -CM- Brent Wallace — Age 39 — Aphrilian — Human
There is nothing extraordinary about Brent Wallace except for his longevity. He never gets injured during campaigns for The Anchors, and will put up solid performances with a great one here or there on the occasion. Considered to be the sort of player that is able to "stabilize" the team whenever they are behind against opposition.

#13 -AM- Hannah Morgan-Keynes — Age 25 — Aphrilian — Human
Is much more aggressive on the tempo and offense compared to Elliot, but does have better ball control. Morgan-Keynes holds a diluted temper, but she can still flare it up whenever she deems it to be necessary. Is one of the few that are willing to directly question the orders of The Anchor, team captain, or even manager if only for the sake of the teams success.

#23 -CF- Kevin Lacey — Age 30 — Aphrilian — Human
A workhorse of a player. Lacey will hunt down every opportunity and chance with relentless pace and endurance. Whenever Aphrilia needs a goal from grit, he is the man for the job.

#10 -CF- Hendrick Meyer-Bertrand — Age 22 — Aphrilian/Brunstadtian — Human
Successor to Aphrilian legend Nathaniel Rosberg, even though he doesn't exactly fit 1-to-1 to how he played. Hendrick Meyer-Bertrand is more of an all-rounder similar to Lacey without his amount of tenacity and grit. However, he does have a kick as mean as Rosberg and is quite good at taking set pieces, ranging from free kicks to penalties to corners.

THE REST
TEAM TACTICS
Leonardo Bianchi always has The Anchors play a 4 - 4 - 2 Diamond formation, and Aphrilia follows his newfound strategic theory known as Neo-Bianchism.

The Anchors play by controlling their own speed of play, not allowing themselves to be baited into their opponents tempo. For every named starting line-up, one midfielder is selected at random to become the Anchor, the designated player that conducts and controls how fast Aphrilia play. It is assumed every midfielder for the team is knowledgeable on how to conduct as the Anchor. There are seven different tempos that the team uses (Two notes of slow defensive play, two notes of fast offensive play, and three different tempos for standard speed of play). Players are allowed to break from the compact formation and the tempo that the Anchor has set if it results in a better position for Aphrilia. The average speed of play for The Anchors is still relatively slower than offensive oriented teams, but it has well increased.

The Anchors have no set strategy for the offense, though they generally go on the offense after regaining lost possession. Each forward has a different trick to scoring goals, while the midfielders tend to be fine doing it in whatever way is most convenient. When it comes to driving the ball up the field, Aphrilia do not stick to a single route. Sometimes the fullbacks may move forward with it, maybe one of the midfielders regain possession and the tempo is immediately increased, or perhaps the keeper kicks it deep into the oppositions half of the field. Every player on the attack is a potential threat that shouldn't be discounted at any moment. The Anchors have now also been trained to take every opportunity they can find in order to put the ball into the back of the enemy teams net, even if it diverges from their style of play.

When it comes to how this team plays defense, it has only evolved. Historically, Aphrilia used a high-press when it came to defending, but when manager Leonardo Bianchi took charge, his Bianchism theory was known for its usage of the offside trap. Thus, Aphrilia integrated a new way of playing defense. When the ball is in the opposition half, the backline moves up for a high-press while man-marking the truly offensive threats that could break through. This is usually done against faster, counterattacking teams similar to Aphrilia. When the enemy team relies on possession and passing play, The Anchors use zonal marking while also integrating the offside trap to catch sudden offenses off-guard. Move too fast and The Anchors will respond immediately, move too slow and they can soak up pressure throughout the entire game.

FAN CULTURE
Aphrilians can be described as patriotic whenever supporting their national team, while still being respectful towards the opposition. Most of the time.

In the teams home ground, the Millennium Dawn Stadium, Aphrilian ultras will be chanting and cheering on for The Anchors from the beginning until the end. The people of Aphrilia will support its team and believe in them even if the match seems impossible. And with the stadium designed in a way that gives The Anchors and the home crowd an advantage (Plain away team dressing room, thinner walls, minimum refreshments, among other things), the away team should prepare for intense pressure. Within the stand that is designated for ultras, expect the displaying of tifos, waving of flags, and the lighting of flares. However, they will remain respectful to the away team and the fans that travelled all the way to Darlingtown to see their team play. Alcohol is banned from Aphrilian stadiums in a continuous effort to keep hooliganism at bay, and security is heightened for visiting teams as well as spectators. The home crowd is quite friendly to visitors, so expect harmony and kinship before and after the match. This attitude is shared by those who travel to away games, continuing to be respectful of the host nation while also proudly supporting The Anchors.

Most of the time, that is. When Aphrilian supporters do become rowdy, they can often cause quite the commotion. Aforementioned commotion usually includes public disturbance, vandalizing, damage to public and private property, among other acts. Fortunately, it has rarely ever been any worse than that. Overall, the fanbase is calm enough that these occurrences are a rarity in and of itself. In most cases, where Aphrilians have reserved spots before and after matches, they socialize not only amongst their own, but also people from the home nation. This behavior is also commonly seen during home games as well. One thing to note is that on away days, the amount of supporters that come fluctuate depending on if there are travel restrictions to the host nation along with other factors. Generally, Aphrilian fans like having fun with one another before and after matches by singing songs, playing games with one another, and enjoying the festivities of what should hopefully be an exciting game of football.

the den

Postby Drawkland » Wed Jul 22, 2026 8:47 pm

“Approaching orbit,” Iarocav said with a level voice. The callout probably wasn’t necessary. He and Meliauden had been sitting in the seats of the starship cabin for over an hour, staring out of the viewport at the small planet getting closer and closer.

When you’ve been on the road for months, it’s hard to not fixate on the destination once it’s right in front of you.

“Now to find the needle in the haystack.” Meliauden mused as the ship noticeably slowed and swerved to level into a stable orbit above the planet’s atmosphere.

“If there even is a needle,” Iarocav muttered. He flipped a switch on the console, which lit up a detection array showing views of the planet below.

“This is no time for pessimism, darling.”

“I consider it tempering my expectations. Surely not everything will go to plan, right?”

“We’ve already passed through a half dozen challenges.” Meliauden pointed out. “You were adequately prepared for them. That doesn’t mean they weren’t difficult.”

“Just because I’ve had a thousand years to think about it doesn’t mean I thought of everything.” Iarocav kept his eyes on the planet imagery on the console. Most of the surface appeared to be water, with small continents and large islands scattered about.

“How about we take a few laps around and wait for the full picture?” Meliauden suggested, poking Iarocav’s arm to take his attention away from the screen for a moment.

“Alright.”

The scan was completed within a few hours. In that time the Drawkionels moved around in the cramped cabin, setting things up for landing. This time they had more than just standard surveying equipment ready to go. There was no telling what defenses could be lying in wait.

It could’ve taken hours to pore through the images and find where sentient hands had modified the natural world. The needle in a haystack idiom might’ve been an undersell. That would assume that one of the people looking through the scans hadn’t had a fascination with maps for several thousand years.

Iarocav and Meliauden started by finding where the ‘dead’ ley line supposedly ended. If anybody traveled from the last planet to this one, that’s where they would’ve landed. It had been a few centuries since that could’ve happened, but Iarocav wasn’t necessarily looking for a physical trail. Once they identified the small continent, they quickly flipped through the scans, looking for any sort of disturbance.

“It’s worth noting that the magiscope isn’t picking up anything,” Meliauden said at one point.

“Perhaps he’s obscured that, too.”

“Kanyo would say that’s impossible. You can’t hide magic with magic.”

“Kanyo would also say the magiscope is pseudoscience. Pseudarcanis, rather.” Iarocav shrugged.

The search continued. Eventually Meliauden looked over at Iarocav’s monitor and saw he was scrolling through views of the ocean.

“Why are you looking there? Aren’t we supposed to be exhausting our options on this continent?” She asked.

“If he were to hide on this planet, he’d want to be far away from the landing point.” Iarocav reasoned. “He wouldn’t want somebody to come across him even by accident. He’d want to settle somewhere that he could control any approach. Land makes that difficult. I’m betting he searched for an isolated island. In his mind, there’s no chance somebody could reach him without being visible for miles in advance. It would give him sufficient time to prepare a defense, if he was ever found at all.”

“We already had dirigibles when he took Vi. Surely he could’ve imagined something like a plane would eventually exist.”

“Dirigibles were hardly faster than a seafaring ship. I doubt he managed to develop defenses that could counter a spacecraft of this speed, especially with our shielding.” Iarocav shrugged. “In any case, that’s splitting hairs. I think it could be quicker to locate islands that they could’ve navigated to, and rule those out. If we find nothing, then we start combing the continents.”

“That seems reasonable.”

Thankfully the surveying instruments present on board their small spacecraft had pretty robust capabilities. The orbital scan from earlier yielded a relatively accurate simulation of the planet’s prevailing winds and ocean currents. A lot can change in a thousand years of course, but it was a start.

The two Drawkionels went to work scouting the various islands off the coast of that starting continent. Iarocav set the surveying equipment to continually scan as they flew over the ocean at a relatively low altitude, hoping to find any strange aberrations that might have been covered by the sea over the years.

It turned out to be an unnecessary measure. After a day or two on the planet searching, they finally found … something.

“Another volcanic island,” Iarocav noted as they approached the small isle covered in the scrubby yellow-green vegetation sported by most of the islands they’d searched.

“I see a good landing spot over there.” Meliauden pointed to a relatively flat ledge on the shallow slope of the low mountain.

Iarocav pulled the ship in close, touching down gently on the ledge. After a moment’s pause to ensure the landing was stable, the two disembarked and pulled a couple instruments from the cargo hold. By now it was a practiced routine: each Drawkionel grabbed a particular scope, set it up, and got it running.

The more interesting one was Iarocav’s, an advanced sort of ground penetrating radar which he placed directly into the mountainside. It sent pulses through the soil and rock to hopefully detect any caverns or open areas beneath the surface. They had yet to discover any traces of manmade structures on the surface, so they figured it was increasingly likely that whatever hideaway they were looking for was underground.

Iarocav watched the radar monitor intently, though after a few dozen cycles of this routine, he no longer felt the rush of adrenaline just waiting for the results. After the results began displaying on the screen, though, his heart skipped a beat. It wasn’t a surprise to see a subterranean system, especially underneath a volcano. This system was different, though. Some of the tunnels were shaped and carved perfectly … too perfectly to be natural.

Once the scan was complete, he triple checked the results. There were multiple chambers, which might’ve been the mantle of the volcano when it was active. More interesting were the various smaller chambers connected by the strangely straight and narrow tunnels throughout.

“We may have something,” Iarocav said, trying to keep the excitement from his voice.

“We also have something else.” Meliauden replied, making no effort to hide the alarm in her own voice.

“What is it?” Iarocav immediately turned around, hand flying to his belt where his sword lay ready in its sheath.

Meliauden didn’t bother answering. Emerging from the squat and scraggly trees was a large creature that one might mistake for a dinosaur, if one didn’t notice the two pairs of eyes sunk deep in its skull. The head was large, with four muscular limbs as thick as tree trunks holding its body a dozen feet aloft. It didn’t seem to have a large tail, its legs bent closely to keep its balance.

“Think it’s native or placed here?” Iarocav murmured, trying to not catch the creature’s attention. That effort seemed to be a losing battle, because it was staring in their direction. Its eyes were wide and white, with pupils the size of pinpricks aimed at the Drawkionel’s ledge.

“Does it matter?” Meliauden replied dryly, hands slowly coming to her own belt. She didn’t take her eyes off the beast as it crouched quietly a hundred yards away.

“Good point.” Iarocav gauged the distance between the Drawkionels, the creature, and their ship. “I’m closer to the ship. Move slowly and run if it pounces?”

“I’m not just going to stand here, but sure.” Meliauden turned her head slightly to get a look at their ledge.

“Moving.” Iarocav said in a low and flat voice. Even though he’d faced hundreds of strange creatures on dozens of worlds, and didn’t necessarily have to worry about death, he still felt a chill snake up and down his spine. The way the creature was looking at them activated a primal sort of fear.

With slow and measured steps, Iarocav walked towards their starship cabin. The engine was at a low idle. It would take a few seconds to get it up enough to rotate towards the creature’s current position. Hopefully that would be enough. Once Iarocav was at arm’s length of the ship’s door, the beast suddenly sprang into action.

The hundred yards separating them shrank in seconds. Meliauden pivoted in an instant and sprinted back towards the ship. Instead of heading towards the nearest door, however, she turned and shot past the front of the ship, and the creature turned to follow her closer.

By then, Iarocav had climbed into the driver’s seat and pulled on a joystick poking up from the dashboard. There was no time to think. He frantically tapped another button on the console as the system warmed up, producing a faint whining noise outside of the cabin. His index finger was already wrapped and clinched around the joystick’s trigger.

Meliauden dove out of the way just in time. Twin laser cannons poked out from the ship’s bow and sprang to life at the exact right moment. Right as the creature stepped in front of the ship, the cannons fired a barrage of ion energy that shredded the beast almost instantly.

Iarocav let off the trigger for a moment to see the result. The creature had collapsed, a large smoldering crater where its chest used to be. The rest of its front side fared poorly as well. Just in case, Iarocav fired a few more automatic blasts into the heap to ensure it wouldn’t move anytime soon.

The two Drawkionels collected themselves, Iarocav opening the ship’s door and helping Meliauden off her spot between the ground and the ship’s hull. They looked over the beast. They didn’t know if it needed to breathe, but it wasn’t twitching or moving at all. It looked like they’d have a little time to figure out their next move.

“So …” Meliauden said after a moment. “What’s your ‘something’?”

“It might be just as exciting.” Iarocav led her to the radar monitor, pulling up the sections of the scans showing the possibly manmade shafts within the mountain.

Meliauden looked over the scan, rotating and zooming into a few sections. She traced one tunnel to a spot that looked to be right against the side of the mountain before turning into a dead end.

“That’s the entrance. Has to be.” Meliauden said, pointing at the spot on the monitor before turning and pointing to its approximate spot on the mountainside itself.

“If it isn’t, it’s going to become one very soon.” Iarocav turned back to the ship, gathering the rest of the equipment they’d pulled out. The cannons were already warmed. It would be no problem to spin another few rounds into the rock face. They were going to get into those tunnels one way or another.

Indies 26 Preview: Whos out, Whos in

In a first for the Turtles, several personnel changes are being made heading into the Indies, rather than the next World Cup. Retirements and changing strategy have led Coach Daviande to make post-Cup shifts. What we know so far is the team is going full speed ahead with a more attacking focus. Daviande has repeatedly said "We need to score to win" and appears ready to sacrifice the defense somewhat. That said, Sam Sabesić taking on full duties as starting keeper will provide the back end support needed. Oops, looks like we spoiled the first change.

Indeed, Bobby Boyd is headed off after four Cup cycles. Jersey number 1 was a stock at the net until Sabesić began to take over in the 101 cycle. Boyd says it has been an honor to be on the national team, but he is ready to retire from international and domestic play. The Raiders will be questing for a replacement after that. Meanwhile, Sabesić has proven to be a solid young keeper with many more caps coming his way. Despite the trimming of the defense, expect this fantastic fiend from Fizroe to menace opposing players with his incredible saves.

Perhaps the saddest change will be the expected retirement of captain and forward, Johnny Dong. Dong joined the team for World Cup 99 and has been a well-liked captain since taking over for the 101 qualifiers, but he has found international play grueling and is seeking a foreign club team to finish out his career. Which means Anila City are also losing one of their top players. He plans to use the off time to field offers abroad, and will be travelling to the Indies to meet with scouts. ➡
And that leads us to the somewhat unexpected departure of Joe Visser. The forward for St Elmos Fire is jumping ship from cleats to skates as rumors spread of a Sel Appan return to international hockey. Visser always considered himself a hockey player, but was a competent enough footballer to make the national team, and play domestically. The ice calls his name and while its not unheardof for a player to play both sports, it is quite rare. If he does lace up, he will be the first Sel Appan with international appearances in football and hockey.

Next up is midfielder Armen Alan who is a management cut. Alan has not performed as well as hoped. The Anvorbuodan Rebel has seemed more suited to domestic play, having mostly served as an occasional substitute. Meanwhile, Brian Roberts is also likely to be taken off the squad for similar reasons. The defensive midfielder has been a disappointment lately after being moved from the defense. Finally, 3rd string goalkeeper Kalmen Goldberg will also be not be seen with the Turtles again and returns to Fleuves FC full time.

Joining the team, we start off with two fresh keepers in Cal Baleer from Tigers of Hanajj and Manny Hamm of Fellitshire Maelstrom. They will be backing up Sabesić, but dont be surprised to see either on the pitch. And adding to the midfield is Clement Anders from the T'lopiq Marauders, where he is actually a defender. With the Turtles moving to a 2-3-5, he will likely play a more defensive role, possibly replacing that which Roberts did.

Finally, where we see most of the changes is among the forwards. Joining the team are Bobby Mack, Earl MacCollins, and the most anticipated of all: Fuego Fernandez. Known to his family as Alfredo, Fernandez is a powerful forward from the Mountain Rats. His shots are known to rocket past defenders, who effectively only see a series of blurs. Rounding off the Turtles, as noted, are Bobby Mack and Earl MacCollins, both from Anila City. Both seem likely to be starters, but the positioning is not yet clear. Also noteworthy is the expansion of the team from 23 to 24 players, providing seven to each position, and three goalkeepers. Image

The Roster

The Turtles are boarding the plane, which means we finally have the roster that is headed to Crpostran for the 26th Independent Associations Championship. First up, the team numbers have been reshuffled to follow the international standard of 1-11 starters, followed by backups. This means players will be limited to wearing 1-24 instead of the old style consecutive pattern the national team used. Its not yet clear if FFSA will push this on the domestic league, but odds are it will be. Expect a lot of fan frustration when jerseys are no longer accurate, but this does happen from time to time anyway. Some of those old jerseys can fetch a pretty penny when it does.

And on that note, taking jersey number 1 from Bobby Boyd is our new starting keeper in Sam Sabesić. Sab previously held 27, and he rightly moves up to the top shelf. He has been colossal in the net against recent opponents and clearly has the confidence of Walter Daviande. Back home of course, he plays for Royal Fizroe after a stint at Anila City. Not just a goalkeeper, he also is known to make some defensive back play to get the ball moving.

Joining him at net, if needed are Cal Baleer with number 12 and Manny Hamm with 13. Baleer comes to us from Tigers of Hanajj, a stacked keeper with height and width to do what needs to be done. More than able in net, he is only surpassed by Sab just being better. Hamm is a rare pick from Fellitshire Maelstrom. Where he falls short in size, he has agility and jump. Third string keepers dont get much play, but one never knows when they will be called to the pitch.

In the defensive corps, we have Karlo Metassis playing as number 2 and Raven Sampson wearing number 3, previously 32 and 34. Yea, we are getting used to it too. Metassis plays for Nemnen Turtles and enjoys his Turtleade, often mixing lemon, lime, and orange together, which he is adamant is the best combo. His teammates think hes a freak, but fans see him as a freak of nature with his incredible marking and saves. He had a short stint as a keeper in his youth before moving up to the defensive line. Paired with him is Sampson, who plays for Les Oiseaux. He is a built defender who dreamed of playing hockey, but ended up in football. Crossing his path has been known to result in injuries, but he somehow has very few cards to his name. Left back and right back, this duo will be charged with the thin Sel Appan defense.

From 14 to 18, we have Tobias Hart of Anvorbuod Rebels, who is the last man standing from the ill-fated World Cup 98 qualifiers team. He is reliable in defense and not unseen in the midfield, but is on the cautious side. Alex Cécile is a master of his craft at Fleuves FC and is excellent at marking and locking attackers out. Winston George is an able defender from Reddingham Rovers, and while not a starter, he is subbed in during a more defensive situation. François Jean is a defensive partner of Cécile at Fleuves, and focuses on using his mass to block shots. That leaves us with Chris Nelson from Royal Fizroe, whose even defensive play makes him a good substitute in a jam, sometimes in the midfield. He has indicated he might be leaving the national team soon, but remains with the Turtles for the Indies.

Speaking of midfield, its time to look at that position. Coach Daviande has switched things up a bit here with Arthur Cahse, Ashin Pons, and Kazun Tayit as starters, wearing 4, 5, and 6. Cahse is a textbook midfielder from the Rovers, mixing attacking and defensive play. He appears to be assigned to the defensive midfield, but Wally seems keen on switching things as needed. Pons is the marquee player from Natives Province, but he plays for Nemnen Turtles, which was seen as a betrayal back home. Nonetheless, he maintains a loyal fanbase. Despite being underrated in the past, his move to the starters is more evidence of the attacking style coming to fore. ➡
Tayit is a striker for Natives FC, but midfield for the national team. That means, he will be on the attacking side, the perfect use of his explosive play at the head of the pitch.

Unfortunately, this means Jimmy Kim is dropped to the bench wearing number 19. The Anila City man hails from Thingpao, goes by James in English, but friends call him Jimmy. A more basic midfielder, its clear why he is held back as a substitute. Vinny Perrault also moves back to the bench, the core Serpents player is known to snipe goals on occasion. Clement Anders joins the team from T'lopiq Marauders. He plays defense there, so expect to see him as a bus parking substitute. There had been talk he might be a starter, but it looks like hell be held back for now. And finally, George Kingsford from the Nemnen Turtles is a late addition. The stocky defender for that team finds himself in the midfield here. But given his newness to the team, hell be classed as a sub.

Bobby Mack
and Earl MacCollins are fresh from Anila City, where they are attacking midfielders. They look set to be the same nationally, moving the ball forward on net as 7 and 8. Expect to see them wherever they are needed: more midfield on defense, and more forward on the attack. Also, expect a bit of name confusion with the mack-mac pack. Taking number 9 is Adam Bittler, coming from the Rebels, who is moved back from his center forward, where he never felt quite comfortable. He is lightning fast on his foot and known to score. For number 10, the Mountain Rats send us Alfredo "Fuego" Fernandez, a young and powerful forward. Fuego is known for his bursts of speed and strong kicks, rockets which drive thru nearly any defender. Meanwhile, Tony Rodriguez stays at the right wing with number 11. Estevez coached his nephew in youth league, bridging the gap of the eras of Sel Appan football. He followed uncs footsteps to the Nemnen Turtles, and is a well-established attacker.

That leaves the team with the last two: Billy Orange at 23 and Olivier Roche at 24. Orange is another Fizroe boy, whos decisive style makes the difference domestically. He mostly serves as a sub nationally. Roche, known to Anglos as "the Rock from Damacq" is a Serpents striker who was an easy selection for the national team. With a name like that, you would expect him to play defense, and he does sometimes, but mostly serves as a striker.

It looks like the Turtles will be playing a 2-3-2-3 format, and officially thats what it is, but practically, this is 3-4-3. Coach Daviande has made it very clear "you have to score to win" that he wants to see goals, even if the team loses. So, this aggressive style (+5) will make that happen. Walter Daviande came with Rockwell Bates, the current FFSA president, from Royal Fizroe. He has turned a faltering team around, bringing them to the Semifinals last Independents and then, despite not qualifying, the team made it to the Cup of Harmony Quarterfinals. He is clearly dead set on a repeat semifinal appearance at least, but one cant deny the quest for gold. And if you didnt know, Davs also coached for Anila City and the Serpents, where he played for his entire career.
Image

And in the office, Rockwell Bates has been a regular fixture, endorsing the moves by Daviande every step of the way. The duo forged a partnership at Fizroe that they continue here, ensuring a seamless organizaion that Sel Appa needs. Bates was a coach himself for years and knows the struggle. Proud, quiet, and confident, his leadership of the federation is taking the team forward in the new era. He is said to be looking for the right tournament to bid on for Sel Appa, after an unsuccessful partnership with Hamborn for the last Cup of Harmony. While taking a pass on this event, rumors suggest he is considering the Baptism of Fire or the next Independents. Indeed, he was seen joining the team on their trip and will likely meet with other national federation leaders to shore up potential votes. Image

Steven Taylor's Last Presser

I stood outside the backstage door, on the balcony overlooking a city street just before sunset. I was at the Sports Entertainment Network studios in the Frankston neighbourhood of Kingswood, sucking down on a cigarette, I breathe a little too heavily from it and my lungs started hacking like a TB patient. I hated these things, but the medicinal cannabis was helping with the cancer pain, at least. But for what, an extra couple of years traded for the health of my lungs? Would I actually gain anything from this? My mind raced as I stared at a large maroon SUV driving down the street below. I was getting lost in the sauce, the MJ hitting me harder than usual. "Steven, you're on in 15. Don't keep us waiting."

I turned around to see a red-haired woman, looking no younger than thirty, clipboard in hand. Clara White, the exectutive producer for "Sports Nexus". Her black thick-framed glasses making her look nerdier than she actually was. "I'm just about done here." I replied, with a little less gusto than I'd have wanted. "You're not nervous, are you?" she uttered, almost without thinking. I shook my head, dropped the cig on the ground, and snuffed it out with my foot, forgetting I was wearing dress shoes, the ash from the now-squashed cig blending in with their dark leathery hide.

"Why would I be nervous, I've been doing sports administration for 35 years, and played in front of tens of thousands for twenty before that. I run the whole football association and top division. I know what I'm doing. Just because you're a producer, doesn't mean you can lecture me." I barked, before realising that was now too much gusto. "Settle down, Steve." I muttered to myself, trying to defuse the situation. To her credit, Clara had nodded and walked away, leaving me to my own devices. "I'm gonna need a stiff drink after this." I thought to myself, taking a deep breath before making my way back to the main set.

⁂

"Cameras are rolling, we're live in thirty seconds. Check your cues, and let's do this." said Clara, as I adjusted my tie and pocket square. I hated suits, but they're the only real attire for formal things like this. Basically expected of me, a high status sports magnate. A necessary evil, to be frank.
"Your suit's fine, Steve." chirped Alex Monash, the anchor. A man with just as much Premier League experience as myself, but who'd moved into punditry instead of admin like myself, despite having the skills. His brown hair rippled slightly from the aircon, his brown eyes darting between myself and the camera. "Thanks Alex, but I'm almost choking on this dang tie." I muttered.
The director then started counting down. "5... 4... 3... 2... 1.." *clap*

"Hello, I'm Alex Monash, this is Sports Nexus, and today, I'm here interviewing Steven Taylor, the president of the New Bradman FA and the New Bradman Premier League."
"It's good to be here, Alex."
"Now, for the first ever time, our New Bradmanians have sent a national football team into the multiverse sporting fray. Wwhat do you think about that, Mr. Taylor?"
"It's an opportunity for our great nation to show itself on the world stage, even if the size of that world has suddenly become infinite. So many nations of so many technological levels, so many species and ways of life. A sociologist's dream."
"Indeed it is, Mr. Taylor."
"Just call me Steve, Alex. We're on the SEN, we don't need to be formal."
"Noted. How do you feel about our chances in this International Associate's Cup?"
"It's the Independent Associations Championship, Alex, and it's a 'regional' tournament for those outisde a major sports 'region', which is a multiverse-speficic term."
"My bad, Steve. It's just that information on the tournament is incredibly hard to come by, as it feels like there's been very little talk of football outside New Bradman."

"Well, it's mainly because New Bradman has only existed for approximately three days." said an unfamiliar voice, walking out of an interdimensional rift.
"Who on earth are you?" said Alex. The draconic woman who'd just walked out the rift smiled wryly. "I'm just here to say I created this nation. Nothing more. Enjoy the multiverse."
"I asked. who. on. earth. are. you?" said Alex, before another foxlike being exited the portal. "Nexxus, stop breaking the fourth wall and get back to Ryukawa." said the foxgirl.
"Fine. I was just making myself known anyway." said Nexxus, before the two went back through the portal.
"Apologies for that... interdimensional incursion." said Alex, flustered and shaken.
"Yeah, we're going to have to deal with that sort of thing now. Multidimensional beings and shared multiverses. Mx. Drako gave us the technology to both send our sports teams to the multiverse, and filter multiverse travellers through our Ryukawan overseas territory." I replied.
"So that explains everythign but how she created the nation."
"Yeah, and that knowledge isn't ready to go public, but screw it. Basically we're in a simulation and our stories are written by extredimensional beings."

"Damn. That's crazy."
"It certainly is, and that's why we're not getting out of the group stage. We'll be lucky to get a point. So many teams have way more skill and time than us, and we're basically fresh meat."
"A realistic answer. But there have been questions raised about your son being the manager. Is that nepotism, or something else?"
"Honestly, it was a short term decision. We've got him until the end of the upcoming World Cup and then we'll make him assistant and open up a search for another manager."
"That seems fair. Are there any other tournaments we could be playing?"
"Yes, we have the Nationstates World Cup, Nationstates being some nation simulation game who holds the title sponsorship. And then we have the Baptism of Fire, a pre-WC tournament for new nations, and the Cup of Harmony, which is a second-tier invitational tournament for those eliminated in World Cup Qualifying."
"Huh, is Nationstates the simulation we're in or something else?"
"Nexxus has advised me not to answer that question directly."

"I'll take that as a yes. And what of your own personal health, there's been some rumours going around but nothing concrete."
"I have stage four prostate cancer. I may not make it to see our boys win the Baptism of Fire."
"You think we're going to win that?"
"Who knows, but the goal is to place highly there."
"Very well, and that's all we have time for. I'm Alex Monash, he's Steven Taylor, and this was Sports Nexus."

Journal of Jason Taylor

Leaving for Ryukawa
My dad didn't wake up last night, soon after he got home from appearing on Sports Nexus, he collapsed on the couch. He's in a coma, braindead while we sort the legal things out. Now I have to manage an entire team of Premier League players with the baggage of our legendary football administrator genius braindead in the hospital while we try and make something of ourselves in Edsmontik and Crpostran, as I boarded the private jet to Ryukawa, the overseas territory with the multiversal portal needed to travel to the IAC. My players looked ready, fresh, and up to the challenge. I couldn't disappoint them. So I, Jason Taylor, will be writing this diary and journal of my experiences with multiverse football.

Ryukawa is beautiful... and weird.
I'd never been to Ryukawa before, but it is a part of the New Bradman Commonwealth, so the travel was visa-free. It's a beautiful place, based on a larger and more temperate island than Kingswood, and about 1.5 million people. But the eccentricies are weird, the people seem stuck 20 years behind technologically, with feature phones and 2G being the standard and old beige breadboxes for computers. But the variety of species living here under the multiverse cohabitation laws is impressive. The Wyrmfolk draconics, the Vailon foxlikes, and the Ælffolk all hail from some place called Itavrnai, and they all gave Ryukawa the technology of multiverse travel in exchange for open residency. That being said, travel to New Bradman is very limited due to the agreement that New Bradman was to remain mostly untouched by mutliverse factors outside of sport.

It also turns out that Ryukawa is essentially an autonomous non-soveriegn part of New Bradman anyway, part of the core territories, and alsothat Itavrnai was willing to freely associate with the New Bradman Commonwealth. That Nexxus chick showed us where we were headed and said she'd managed a dozen nations' multiverse affairs for a decade, which was interesting. She was also a bit of a troublemaker in her past and got herself in a lot of hot water, and that's why the New Bradman motherland was basically protected from multiverse issues. But Sports is the one avenue where that doesn't matter, as Ryukawa was being used as a vessel for interdimensional trade and diplomacy. Still a long way from Carcassonne though.

Horkenheimer team selection provoke provincial grumbles
By: Helmut von Ostermann

The Gemeinschaft is once again to be present during the Independent Associations Championship, when the 26th edition of the prestigious tournament soon commences in the distant lands of Edsmontik and Crpostran (allegedly two of the most powerful nations in all of Karma, whatever that means).

As avid readers might recall, The Horkenheimers narrowly progressed from the IAC25 group stage but were sent packing by a superior force already in their first knock-out game.

Schlecht indeed.

For this new outing beyond the mountains, much is different, and this has provoked heated responses from our lesser countrymen in the provincial towns and forlorn villages of neighboring valleys. The reason for this rural displeasure – which many feel has been unsuitably vocal – is the Horkenheimer team selection.

You see, when the Horkenheimer squad was presented by the Seebergundian FußBallverband (SFV) earlier this week, it quickly became apparent that it contained precisely zero names from the Seebergundian SuperLiga (SSL) clubs hailing from outside of fair Brinterberg.

While you, dear reader, as an upstanding citizen of fair Brinterberg, might have a hard time fathoming why on earth this could ever be construed as a problem, it seems they are of a different mind over there in the backward hamlets of outer Seebergundia.

Apparently, the team selection is deeply “unfortunate” and plagued by “a harmful Haupstadt bias”, they claim. Omitting capable provincial players will “inevitably and severely hurt Gemeinschaft prospects”, one Tjark Neuer, of far-flung ghost town Hinterdorf and their ragtag band of FußBallers PuFG, was recorded saying in a Brinterberg Beobachter interview yesterday.

The very same publication then expanded on this theme by pointing to what they call “Sporting merit”, which they argued clearly indicates a certain truth in yokel grumbles.

Indeed, they claimed, while our teams from fair Brinterberg - chiefly the giants of SV Brinterberg and Staad FBV - are undoubtedly the uncontested maestros of Seebergundian FußBall, it would be foolish to deny the “power and prowess of provincial teams”. At the very least, they continued, ”not calling the likes of Bruno Hufschmied from PuFG Hinterdorf or Sepp Häberle and Otmar Hofmaier from SG Rothaus, who were all named in the SFV Die 11 der Season at the conclusion of the tenth edition of the SSL, seem strange, to put it mildly.”

Pure papperlapapp, of course!

True enough, teams like PuFG Hinterdorf, SG Routhaus and perpetual troublemakers SVG Kügeldorf had the unfortunate and unsuitable audacity to claim positions 3-5 in the tenth annual SSL, but where is the logic in rewarding such wanton behavior?

Besides, the selected Horkenheimer squad almost exclusively contains players from SV and Staad – again, undisputed giants and champions of taste and decency – and surely anyone with half a brain can see the prudence of picking players from the two best teams.

Thankfully, Alfred Schmidt is a man of that kind of prudence.

As you will no doubt be aware, the SFV announced the departure of earlier stalwart and unsuitably progressive Horkenheimer coach, Ludvig Adorno, already at the outset of this year’s SSL season, and simultaneously decreed that he would be succeeded by his long-term assistant coach, Alfred Schmidt.

It is a poorly kept secret that Adorno and Schmidt were often at odds with one another, where the former preferred combining the tactical traditions of Das Alte 3-5-3 (which is really a 3-4-3 that has nostalgically retained its name from the days of Altes FußBall when we played with 12 players a team) with a mixed squad of players hailing from all over Seebergundia, whereas the latter has always been a proponent of a strong and fierce 4-3-3 with the player pool kept purely Brinterbergian.

We at Brinterbergundia Daily salute the SFV for taking the necessary step of removing the yoke of Adorno’s influence on our national team and allowing Alfred Schmidt to take charge!

It is clear to see, for anyone with their eyes open, that it has been Ludvig Adorno’s dangerous ideology of cohesive inclusion that has hampered Horkenheimer progress in previous international tournaments. Now, with a strong and dependable squad of exclusively Brinterbergian players, our Gemeinschaft can finally actualize its full potential and claim our rightful place as the Könige of Global Fußball.

The first hurdle on the road to Seebergundian domination will be conquering the likes of Vonum, Saterun and Croblade in the upcoming groupstages.

Should be a pushover.

Information

Trigramme: CPH
Nickname: Team in Teal
Manager: Harmon Merrit (62)
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Style: -1.5

A lot has happened for the Team in Teal since last IAC. Qualifying for World Cup 101. Getting completely destroyed in World Cup 101. Completely destroying everyone else at the Arterra Cup. While the trajectory might not be as steep as that of some of their BoF87-classmates, Choppyhausen's international football history has only seen one direction so far: up. It is the job of the following 24 players to keep this direction.

Led by national goalkeeping legend and captain Weiner-Kracht, the tactics of the Choppyhausen national team revolve around their quick and technically gifted wingers, Keil and Iduna. In attacking and counter-attacking situations, the full-backs – known for their accurate crosses – push forward to support the attack, aiming to find Corte, Choppyhausen’s classic centre-forward, in the box.
When out of possession, they drop back to support the tall central defenders, working to shut down any threat from the opposition.
Starting 11

Manuel WEINER-KRACHT - (C)
> (#1, GK, 31yrs) - Victoria Choppingen

Choppyhausen's captain is a national legend. The goalkeeper is feared among forwards for his exceptional one-on-one qualities. Compared to his international colleagues, his build-up play might be a bit weaker but his spirit and strive for victory are only matched by few.

David BENDER-MCKAY
> (#2, LB, 32yrs) - SC Chain Drehstatt

Bender-McKay might be the oldest player in Choppyhausen's starting lineup but that does not stop him from sprinting down the left flank whenever possible. The left back is one of the most experienced players of the team and his pinpoint crosses are notorious.

Milo HOLDENBECK
> (#3, CB, 24yrs) - Triangle Vastonburg

"Built like a tank and yet as agile as a gazelle" said Holdenbeck's first scouting report. The 23 year old is among the fastest players in the team - especially useful when an offside trap did not work. When he's not winning the ball with a daring sliding tackle, he likes to send the ball flying across the pitch, sometimes as a clearance, sometimes as a dangerous offensive pass.

Maik HAFERKREIS
> (#17, CB, 21yrs) - Club Lektura Kork

Haferkreis is only 20 years old — young for a center back. Nevertheless, Coach Merrit has high hopes for him. Tall and fearless even in tricky situations, Haferkreis exudes a calmness that few others on the pitch possess. WC101 was the first tournament where he played as a starter for Choppyhausen.

Til LAMPE
> (#16, RB, 25yrs) - ???

Originally meant as a substitute in the Baptism of Fire, Lampe managed to snatch a starting position from Oak with strong performances in the tournament. When in possession of the ball, he likes to play forward which sometimes leads to mistakes in his defensive play.

Christopher CASTELL
> (#6, DM, 24yrs) - Irstria Storm FC

The newest addition to Choppyhausen's national football team. Together with Andre Finch, he makes up Irstria Storm's defensive midfield and now they're both teamed up in the national team, too. Castell's a bit more defensively minded than Finch but when he has the opportunity, he’ll take the shot from distance.

Andre FINCH
> (#19, DM, 27yrs) - Irstria Storm FC

Next to Castell in the defensive midfield you will find Andre Finch who has been part of the starting lineup since the IAC24. The 27 year old impresses with his strong tackling skills and accurate through balls. His calmness with the ball was one of the strong reasons for Irstria Storm's championship last season.

Dominik KEIL
> (#8, LW, 27yrs) - Triangle Vastonburg

Dominik Keil has a very simple yet effective playing mantra: Get the ball -> Run a bit -> Dribble past opponents -> Run a bit more -> Cross in the middle -> Goal (hopefully). This has been proven to be pretty effective and so Keil has once again secured himself a starting position.

Tommy LUKESON
> (#9, AM, 22yrs) - Triangle Vastonburg

"Young and energetic with the right drive toward the goal", is how coach Merrit descibed the offensive midfielder in a not that recent interview. Even though he is one of the youngest players in the team, Lukeson has succesfully defended his starting position with regular goal contributions. He loves to leave opposing defenders in his wake with his skillful dribbling and isn't afraid to shoot from unlikely angles, even if his risky style of play is sometimes frowned upon by the coach.

Marco IDUNA
> (#10, RW, 24yrs) - Victoria Choppingen

Iduna is one of the team's best scorers. His goals are usually especially important as the 23 year old has a curious tendency to score a lot of Choppyhausen's 1-0s. His domain is the right wing, where he loves to sprint down to the byline and cross in the box.

Jule CORTE
> (#11, CF, 30yrs) - Victoria Choppingen

Corte is probably the most important player in Choppyhausen's offensive play. The team's classic centre forward won the "Golden Ball" for Player of the Tournament by Stewartika's SFA Technical Study Group in the 87th Baptism of Fire, scoring nearly a third of all of Choppyhausen's goals. Corte is known for being cold-blooded and humorless infront of goal, usually scoring without a lot of trickery.
Substitutes

Goalkeepers: Diego MENNO (#13, GK, 30), Aurel THEUNISSEN (#14, GK, 22)
Defense: Mattes OAK (#5, RB/LB, 27), Henry SASTRAWINATA (#18, RB/LB, 24), Julius DARAY (#15, CB, 29), Henrik FREDERIKSEN (#4, CB, 29)

The Republic of the United Marble Tribes's Football Association and National Team:

Marbleland Football Association (MFA) was first established in 1975, founded by Jonathan Curts and Jamie Oliver Donns. Its purpose is to bring up the spirit of football in Marblelanian culture.

Football has been around in Marbleland for centuries, first brought over by the foreigners, the locals instantly fall in love with the sport. Today, you can see children and adults of variety of races playing football in courts, stadiums or simply any open spaces.

The MFA Complex/ Headquarters was first established in 1980 in Maine after independence, since then, scouts have been going around the nation recruiting young and talented Marblelanians.

The first official team was formed in 1981 consisting of both young and old players. To improve quality, several overseas players of Marblelanian descend were called over to represent the team legally. These include Cole Atkins, Richard Harbour, Gideon Sutton, and Aziz Malek. Meanwhile, there has been a new surge of young idols sprouting around the nation, this include the later captain of Marblelanian team, Adi Malek; Raymond Bold, George Hatching, Jamie Watts, Simon McDonnell, Kieran Tys, Robbie Edwards, Jonathan and Ryan Cutting, Evan Smith, Eric Billings and many others.

Today, Marblelanian FC is a successful team with it entering IAC 25 in 2026. Its current team have numerous talents including Raja Matusaleh, Enoch Barack, Raymond and Kevin Mustard, Ethan Billings, Darren Rottingham, Edward Mills, Chris Pratt, Declan Law, Richard Wilkins, Joshua Howards, Jamal Marquez, Zack Wesley, John Leicester, Aznan Fariz and many others.

Sernet - who are we?
This section contains useful information for visitors.

Written by Jeremy Greenstall; Ultra-patriotic Sernetian author working for Sernefoot
the below is an expanded version of this post:
viewtopic.php?f=7&t=575263&p=43157985&hilit=sernet#p43157985
(this may be put into my factbook one day, albeit slightly edited)

The Metrostocracy of the Sernetian Empire, commonly known as Sernet, is a sizeable, densely built, unapologetically industrial nation located in one of the busier corners of the NS multiverse. At Sernet's core stands its beating heart and partially namesake capital, Sernetesen, a colossal metropolis of skyscrapers, a sprawling rail network and constant movement; buildings as far as the eye can see.
Beyond the capital lie other major urban giants: Stensemertef with its sprawling freight yards, massive port and countless tower blocks stretching far and wide can see; Nestomerisen, dubbed "the great Nest", city of 10,000 trades; Sporstrodisen, a titanic technological hub and another port city; Sermeslau, bastion of the north; and Sultrisend, where industry runs 24 hours a day and the night sky glows from all the light beneath. Just to name a few. Sernet as a whole is a relatively uninterrupted web of cities. Sernet is also a bilingual state, with parts of the northeast of the country being polish-speaking, with major cities in the area including Stroławostok and Plostruń. However, most Sernetians speak both languages, meaning communication is smooth. Provinces in Sernet are known as governorates. Sernet is a strongly unified and very patriotic state, with a large chunk of the population being avowedly loyal to the nation.
Internationally, Sernet is known for its skyscrapers, its relentlessly efficient industrial output, its labyrinth of a railway network, and its population of citizens who are proud and patriotic. Chants in support of the Steamers echo across the country. But outside of the sprawling towns and cities is a harmonious countryside, beautiful scenic views stretching out into the horizon, straight out of a fairy tale. Sernet isn't all brick, glass concrete and steel. Contrary to the stereotypes, it's natural paradise too. Sernet also has a strong military and space force to protect national interests and project authority where required. The Sernetian Empire is the wider form of Sernet, encompassing colonies such as Smoltrendestof and Toperis, known for being peacefully acquired; the Sernetian Empire is famously benevolent, and has always been since its formation during the era of enlightenment in the nation's rich history.
And of course, Sernet is known for football.

This map is now outdated. New map below:

This small snippet of the new map shows Sernet and Smoltrendestof (the bit in the far west of the map). Only a few cities are present and the coastlines are not refined as the map is still under construction. However it is more accurate than the first one.

Top 3:

Sernetesen is the largest city in Sernet by far, with 18.6 million living within Greater Sernetesen and a further 13.4 million living within the rest of Sernetesen governorate, bringing the total population of the whole governorate to 32,067,400

Nestomerisen is the second largest with a total of 9.2 million people within the metropolitan area and another 1 million within surrounding suburb towns which technically count, bringing the popuation up to 10.2 million people

Stensemertef has a total population of 8.2 million, including the entire Stensemertef Metropolitan Subgovernorate.

4-34th largest

Sporstrodisen 5.1M
Sermeslau 5M (includes Durslomof)
Lofnostem 4.4M
Stalmesen 4M
Septingof 3.6M
Sultrisend 3.2M
Plostruń 3.2M (technically 2M but extra 1.2M joins on due to expanded metro area)
Stroławostok 2.5M
Krafnoslau 2.2M (technically 920K but extra 1.3M joins on due to expanded metro area)
Posplisen 2.2M
Lunstrisolt 2.1M
Slassedrosem 1.8M (technically 800K but extra 1M joins on due to expanded metro area)
Saldenesem 1.6M (part of Saldensiland Conurbation)
Seltromisen 1.6M
Wastomissen 1.5M (technically 500k but expanded metro area aids the number)
Setelendisen 1.4M (part of Sernetesen governorate so its 1.4M population is counted in the 32M population listed above)
Darstendof 1.2M
Ustekiosen 1.2M
Nepsom (formerly New Spasem) 1.2M (includes the whole Eastrocks area)
Hostrisen 1.2M

Stargost 1M
Bosislau 1M
Swofitent 1M (includes wider metro area)
Polmorstof 1M (includes wider metro area)
Skiersknowosk 1M (includes wider metro area)

MAY BE INCORRECT:
Uspremedrisen 970K
Stergentrisolt 970K (includes wider metro area + Lognisof)
Lansingost 960K (includes wider metro area)
Loblinisen 940K (part of Sernetesen governorate so its population is counted in the 32M population listed above, the 940K figure includes Many surrounding towns, but not Sundosmesen)

Other places worth noting:
Upper Nestomesiom Conurbation:
around 3.4M people live in this area; largest city Spabondrisem 672K, includes cities such as merglendosen, seskendrolmesen and swadnilesem
Smoltrendestof:
the area is home to around 10M people

Notes:
-vast majority of Sernet's population is urban and live in towns and cities of over 100k
-pretty much everyone else lives in a town of over 25k
-metropolitan areas in sernet are larger than in most other places so it may seem like a city is larger than it really is: most of the aforementioned cities take up a decent amount of land, meaning they are not incredibly dense.

Football in Sernet

Football is not merely a sport here. It is a way of life. Nearly every Sernetian supports a local club, and the domestic rivalries are explosive, heated, and occasionally all-consuming. Matches between Stronghold Sernetesen FC, Setelendisen FC, Governorate Dameristol, Loblinisen Wanderers, Korona Stroławostok, Zwiazek Gdasenowo, Colliers' UFC, Legion Sultrisend-Livedendrisen, Union Slalosol, Sermeslau Giants, Nestomerisen Knights, Snarisosnum City, Sporstrodisen Athletic and numerous others define the emotional rhythm of many Sernetians.
The rivalries are deeply rooted: industrial pride, city-versus-city competition, and even politics and ideological jabs sometimes play into them. Crowd atmospheres in Sernetian stadia are renowned across the world: loud, united and proud. Sernetian footballing history goes way back, it has now been almost two centuries since the beautiful game reached Sernet, the Sernetian National Team was established in 1854, although standardisation only occured in 1865, with many clubs dating back to the 19th century.
However, when Sernet plays internationally, all rivalries immediately dissolve. The whole nation stands united behind the Steamers, named for the vast plumes of white steam which rose from Sernet's railway stations and industrial stacks back in the day before electrification. Everyone in Sernet loves the steamers. Any view other than that is considered heresy (obviously it's not a life-or-death matter, but still... ...Sernet is him.)
Until very recently, however, the Steamers had rarely ventured beyond their regional football sphere. Their sudden competitive push in the World Cup qualifiers, and their subsequent invitation to the Cup of Harmony, has electrified the country's football culture even further, renewing pride in Sernet's legends. Now with the 101st edition of the World Cup looming, the country is united in support of the Steamers once more.

The Sernetian football system has recently undergone a shift, resulting in the formation of a new league system replacing the former multiple tier system. The Sernefoot Gold League is now the Premier division of Sernetian football, followed by the Silver League and the Bronze League. These leagues contain 24 teams; the bottom three teams are relegated each season to the league below and the top three promoted to the league above. Additionally, teams who finish top, or near the top, of the Goal League table qualify for a range of different competitions. Each team plays each other twice every season in the top three leagues.
Below the Bronze League comes Sernefoot Division 1, which also consists of 24 teams. The first team from Division 1 is automatically promoted to the Bronze League, while positions 2-5 play each other for promotion in the playoffs - out of the four teams, 2 can qualify. The bottom four teams are relegated into Division Two. This cycle carries on through Divisions 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and finally Division 9, the lowest League of Sernefoot football. From each of the Division leagues (except for 1 & 9) the Top 2 qualify automatically while places 3-6 enter the playoffs. 2 more teams from positions 3-6 get promoted, meaning that in total 4 teams get promoted. The bottom 4 teams are relegated. There are no relegation playoffs. Because Division 9 is the lowest Sernefoot League, 4 teams get promoted from Div 9 to 8, but only 2 are relegated. The relegated teams are replaced by whichever team is at the top of their SLSA (Sernet League System Association) Zone. Those zones are Sernet Northeast, Sernet North, Sernet Central, Sernet South, Sernet East and Sernet West. If the two relegated teams belong to the same zone, then the top two teams from that zone are promoted. The SLSA Zone a team is in is obviously based on geographical location, for example, a team located in Sernetesen would be under the Sernet Central Zone and a team located in Krafnoslau would be under the Sernet Northeast Zone. All clubs are under an SLSA Zone, even those in the Gold League.

Additionally, some of Sernet's colonies operate their own leagues, most notably Smoltrendestof. The Smoltrendestof Premiership and Championship were under Sernefoot, whereas the leagues beneath were SLSA. However, with the recent formation of the Smoltrendestof Independent Football Association (SIFA), they are now operated by SIFA as opposed to Sernefoot. Both Smoltrendestof Leagues have 12 teams, bringing the amount of Sernefoot clubs in Smoltrendestof to 24. The bottom two teams from both leagues are relegated, and the top two are promoted.

There are also several domestic competitions, such as the Sernefoot Crown Cup, which is Sernet's equivalent of the FA cup.

How to Get to Sernet

Sernet is remarkably easy to reach. Direct flights arrive from across the multiverse, with the majority funnelled into Sernetesen Storimidros International Airport, the nation's primary gateway to distant countries.
Travellers from nearer neighbours (like Armatonisdaristan) may instead land at Sernetesen West, Stensemertef International, or other large regional hubs. The national flag carrier, Sernetian Airways, operates most long-distance flights; its fleet is functional, modern and remarkably comfortable.
An alternative for those with access to flights to Armatonisdaristan is to take advantage of the legendary GUSM (Great Undersea Maglev). Departing from Aberstorf, the GUSM speeds beneath the ocean and surfaces on Sernet's shores, connecting directly to major cities at stations such as Sernetesen Gateway, Hostrisen International, Sultrisend Steamlake, Wosserom Obelisk, and more, as well as Stensemertef International and Nestomerisen International if taking GUSM Sleeper. The GUSM also provides a rail link from Smoltrendestof to the mainland as Smoltrendestof is conveniently located along the maglev trunk line, and the cities in Smoltrendestof are served by the namesake Smoltrendestof International station. Because the line is operated by Sernetrail, fares are astonishingly low, or at least cheaper than flying. Sernet loves trains, and wants you to use them. It is useful to know that you can travel on maglev domestically using Sernetrail Maglev services or the GUSM between stations in Sernet, but it is likely to be more expensive than travelling by conventional high-speed rail.
Cruise ships also arrive at several ports for those who dislike flying, though they take far longer than the sleek GUSM or the plane.

Getting Around Sernet

Upon arriving, travellers will quickly notice the defining characteristic of Sernet’s internal infrastructure: railways everywhere.
The rail network here is famously dense; an extensive web connecting every corner of the nation. Even the smallest settlement has at least one station; in urban centres, stations come every couple hundred metres. Trains are frequent, often punctual, cheap, clean, comfortable and used by virtually everyone. No matter where you are in the Sernetian Empire, unless it's a random remote overseas territory, you're never far from the railway.

Sernetesen, being the nation's vast capital, is a maze of transit systems: the SMR, SMR+, Metrogrid, Sernetesen Connect, Sernetesen Sprinter, Light Rail, Trams, Buses, Ferries and Sernetrail services too. Sernetrail services, branded under various different operators, operate commuter and suburban services in and around Sernetesen, high-speed and long-distance services to destinations around the country, as well as various slower, semi-fast and express regional services. Not to mention Sernetrail Maglev. Road travel is also popular, and Current Car Rentals operates across the country. However, traffic is moderately heavy in major cities, and while not an absolute nightmare, most visitors quickly realise the train is universally superior. Intercity coach lines such as Sernetbus exist but are generally slower and only marginally cheaper than rail.
Domestic flights do exist, but the train outperforms them so thoroughly that only the poshest of business travellers even bother.

Things to Know
Sernet is a deeply patriotic and somewhat disciplined country in terms of alcohol consumption. Visitors should be aware that:
-Anti-state chants or provocations can quickly escalate into confrontations (often with football hooligans).
-Police forces are strict, heavily armed, and not shy about enforcing public order.
-The nation is somewhat socially conservative, and revealing clothing, especially for women, may attract unwanted attention in certain areas. Crime exists in some cities, particularly at night, and visitors are advised to stay on main streets and avoid wandering alone while intoxicated.

Sernet is also a Muslim-majority country, and while socially practical and modern, alcohol consumption is regulated. Drinking is allowed only in designated venues such as hotels and licensed bars. Supporters celebrating match results must remain civil and follow local etiquette.
Despite these warnings, Sernetians are proud hosts, and the country is extremely safe when common sense is applied. Visitors who respect local customs will find a dynamic, efficient, loud, proud and unforgettable nation, a land of trains, skyscrapers, and football.
Enjoy your stay. Sernet is him.

DISCLAIMER: We know that sometimes Sernet is painted as an industrial hellhole with pollution everywhere, but trust me, from a neutral, non-biased point of view it is actually a pleasant nation to be in (mostly) and you usually don't notice the cracks in the system.

Player Bios
For reasons of me not having enough time, I only made bios for the starting XI. More Bios will be coming soon. Also the images are work in progess. Thanks for understanding.

1) Tomasz Pasarowski - Goalkeeper (Sermeslau Giants), 24

Calm, precise, and fearless under pressure. Pasarowski has become the Steamers' safest pair of hands, known for lightning reactions and a commanding voice that can silence even the rowdiest back line. A natural-born organizer and an absolute legend.
Origins: Born in Suribań, moved to Blobnoslau in Sermeslau as a child.

3) Janusz Tworpowski - Defender (Governorate Dameristol), 22

A young defensive prodigy with ice-cold composure. Reads attacks like a book and loves stepping forward to cut passing lanes early. Already a fan favourite for his "no-nonsense, no-panic" style.
Origins: Stensemertef

4) Dominik Zoliba - Defender (Sermeslau Giants), 35

The veteran enforcer. Heavy, hard, and reliable as steel - exactly what Sernet's defence is built on. Zoliba brings decades of experience and can shut down even elite forwards with pure positioning and grit.
Origins: Palatisolt, moved to Sermeslau later on

22) Stirius Mantrostem - Defender / Emergency Goalkeeper (Union Slalosol), 32

A utility warrior. Mantrostem is tough, tall, and unmovable in duels, equally comfortable sliding into desperate blocks or pushing up on set pieces. His odd dual-role background as an emergency keeper has given him exceptional spatial awareness. He carries the number 22 on his shirt as he believes it is lucky.
Origins: Sernetesen

9) Stefan Jatrowski - Midfielder (Korona Stroławostok), 30

The engine. Jatrowski runs forever, presses endlessly, and stitches together Sernet's transitions with clean, vertical passing. A midfield bulldozer with intelligence to match his stamina.
Origins: Born in Sronisławów-nad-morzem

16) Korolianus Stork - Midfielder, 2nd Vice Captain (Governorate Dameristol), 34

Stork is the tactical brain of the midfield - composed, elegant, and brutally efficient. When the Steamers need control, he supplies it; when they need cool leadership, he embodies it. The team's on-pitch diplomat.
Origins: Lunstrisolt

8) Zbigniew Komstrowski - Midfielder, Vice Captain (Governorate Dameristol), 24

A versatile playmaker who drifts between lines and slices defences open. Komstrowski can operate as a traditional 8, a secondary 10, or even a hybrid winger. Creates sparks out of nothing.
Origins: Sosenystowos

15) Rami Alforez - Midfielder (Club Septingof), 19

Young, explosive, and fearless. Alforez brings raw pace and incisive dribbling to a midfield otherwise filled with veterans. A breakout star in the making with a knack for late runs into the box.
Origins: Septingof

18) Samir Dottman - Midfielder (Setelendisen FC), 26

A disciplined holding midfielder who gives Sernet its backbone. Dottman wins the ball, cycles possession quickly, and anchors the entire system. Not flashy - just essential.
Origins: Setelendisen

7) Wasori Oluwawa - Forward (Stronghold Sernetesen FC), 20

Fast, furious, hungry. Oluwawa is a counterattacking weapon who loves driving straight at defenders. Still very young, but already among the most exciting attacking talents in the entire Metrostocracy.
Origins: Born in Lofnolmesen, moved to Salifermis (Sernetesen)

10) Sporius Bolsting - Forward, Captain (Stronghold Sernetesen FC), 26

The heartbeat of the Steamers. Bolsting is a relentless goalscorer, creative link-man, inspirational leader and emotional compass rolled into one. When Sernet needs a spark, a shove, a rallying cry - it comes from him.
Origins: Sporislau, Sernetesen

I will try to put together more bios soon.

Note:
There are no women in the team staff purely by coincidence, not due to any gender discrimination rules. This is men's football after all, and in Sernet, women tend to prefer working in women's football. However, you do occasionally get female referees or first aiders.

World Cup 101

Sernet performed excellently in the 101st edition of the World Cup, qualifying for the World Cup Proper in only our second attempt at qualification. The Group stage was extremely tough however, and Sernet was eliminated with only a single point on the table. Not to worry however, even qualifying for the multiverse's most prestigious football tournament is an achievement in itself. The Steamers come into the IAC hungry for goals and ready to do whatever it takes to succeed.

Sernet is a large nation famous for its extensive rail network and our skyscrapers and tower blocks. Capital city: Sernetesen. Sernet is a space-capable state and maintains a network of terriories, but we're not your traditional earth-based empire (we are very benevolent). The nation is rich in history and culture and is extremely patriotic.
Mostly modern tech, except in some fields where we'd be PMT

The Snestaryan National Team

After the miraculous debut performance in the World Cup 101, the Snestaryan National Team is proud to present themselves for their first ever participation in the 26th edition of the Independent Associations Cup. The Snestaryans are a peaceful and perpetually bored folk who likes to mess around with each other whenever they get the occasion: in fact, unexpected silliness is quite frequent between the players, both on and off the pitch. Either way, the Viola is ready to write its signature onto the pages of the IAC26, chasing the country’s first major international trophy.
Football in Snestar

(Ai generated image in the background)

Ever since football was brought by Snestar, the sport has always been popular among the citizens, and it soon became the center of interest of local athletes. The first official top division, Division Alpha, was founded in 1899 and has seen a total of 18 different winners over its 119 editions so far. Despite the constant presence of the Big Three (Image Lavenya, Image Edervina, and Image Dandelicha Continental), the league has stayed highly competitive, allowing for underdogs to claim high spots on the table (such as Arentas' incredible 7th place finish in the 2024-25 season, after just gaining promotion the previous season), though the mid-table and relegation battle are also usually entertaining to watch. This season of Division Alpha saw the title race contested between four clubs (Image Lavenya, Image Terselva, Image Venistalya, and Image Arentas), with Venistalya coming out on top after winning the title on penalties in a tiebreaker against Lavenya (the two clubs were tied on points in first place at the end of the regular season), while the Snestaryan Cup saw second divsion side Image Dorolma win the trophy in a miracle run. Snestar's stadiums aren't too flashy, as due to the structure of Snestaryan cities, clubs usually choose smaller venues. Dandelicha's Stadio Olimpico, the capital's stadium, is by far the largest in the country, thanks to its 84000 seats. Other notable examples include Lavenya Stadium (61000 seats), Evergreens Arena (53000 seats), the Veralica Stadium (49000 seats) and the Victoria Stadium (48000 seats), which are the stadiums usually prepared for international matches (other venues are also taken into consideration for smaller stakes matches, since most of Snestar's stadiums do not exceed 30 thousand seats).

Meet The Team

Image

The Manager
Edoardo Di Palma
Age: 49
Personality: tactical, defensive, confident
When Edoardo Di Palma was appointed Head Coach of Snestar by the FSC, he'd received a lot of criticism by Snestaryan Media, who questioned his ability to lead the national team (despite the manager's experience with Division Alpha clubs such as Carvella and Fraliso). However, Di Palma’s revolution of the National Team almost immediately proved everyone wrong, after not only securing direct qualification to the WC101 (defeating group leaders Ko-oren 4-0 and being the only team who did not lose against them), but also reaching the Quarterfinals of the tournament against all odds, narrowly beating the likes of Banija and Aphrilia before succumbing to eventual winners Audioslavia. Despite having a lot of pressure on his head, Di Palma seemed to have gained more confidence since the end of the WC101.

Goalkeepers

Federico Calvaresi #1 (Captain)
Age: 26
Personality: professional, composed, focused
Current club: Arentas
The anchor of the national team, Federico Calvaresi had distinguished himself among other Snestaryan goalkeepers due to his ability to be on the ball (figuratively and literally) at all times. He was able to guide Arentas to promotion in the 23-24 season, and stuck with the small club and brought it all the way to 7th place, despite having received offers from big clubs such as Lavenya and Venistalya throughout the season. His loyalty paid off: in fact, he was given captaincy of both Arentas and the national team, showing he can be trusted with leading even the most divided of squads.

Renato Splendore #12
Age: 30
Personality: patient, amicable, selfless
Current club: Keklaneka Esportiu (Bonusia)
Despite being the second-choice keeper of the national team, Renato Splendore still keeps the goalkeeping standards for the Snestaryan national team high. After spending a few years as the backup keeper of Lavenya, mostly spending the Fleur-de-lays’s matches watching from the bench and patiently waiting for the perfect time to show his experience with the ball. He knew that under Pawel Wodzyński’s reign, Lavenya’s net won’t need a replacement anytime soon, so he decided to move to Bonusia, instantly becoming a key player for Keklaneka Esportiu, and providing a great protection to the goal.

Matteo Caprini #29
Age: 22
Personality: hopeful, eager, energetic
Current club: Grenna
A young promise coming from the Biancoverdi’s academy, Matteo Caprini is slowly becoming a rising star in Snestaryan football. Despite playing for what’s usually considered a mid-table club, this keeper possesses exceptional positioning, fantastic reflexes, and great initiative. Being a backup keeper, he hasn’t played much for the national team, though deep down he hopes he’ll be able to break through the cracks of the giants of Snestaryan football and secure a spot in a high-profile club.

Defenders

Marta Camilla Barami #2
Age: 19
Personality: party animal, silly, chronically online
Current club: Anticicló Molina (Bonusia)
Marta Camilla Barami was the one of the first Snestaryan to try her luck outside of the nation. Seeing how the Women’s Division Alpha lacked opportunities (the league is still under development), Marta chose to transfer over to Anticiclò Molina in Bonusia, where she has truly found a club where she can shine. Bring only 19, Marta is incredibly proud of her Starting XI spot in the National Team, and frequently teases her companions about it (with the main target of her digs being Maratea, her NT substitute), but everyone knows she's in good faith. Marta is also well-known among Snestaryans for her perennial presence in social media, mostly on Instagram and Reddit, and has been crowned a honorary moderator of the r/okbuddyzerogoals subreddit (the community where people poke fun at Division Alpha's characteristic lack of goals).

Giulio Maritan #3
Age: 23
Personality: calm, cautious, simple minded, determined
Current club: Venistalya
Giulio Maritan was never full of talent when he was a young man. Before being taken under 2nd division club Brega’s wing, he’d been rejected by many top division clubs. Still, he never gave up on his dream, and through years of suffering, he was eventually able to move onto the level of football he’d chased for years: he moved through many Division Beta clubs, growing more and more as a person and a player until he was finally able to get the call from Grenna, eventually earning himself a spot in the national team. Now, he's breached into Division Alpha title-holders Venistalya, and has rightfully earned his Starting XI spot in the Viola, with a whole career still ahead of him.

Stefano Shurdaqi #4
Age: 35
Personality: focused, thoughtful, indolent
Current club: Lavenya
The most expected addition to the roster of the Viola, Shurdaqi comes from a mixed family due to being born on the island of Tirya, a large chunk of land divided between three nations. but in reality he was still raised just like any other Snestaryan. So far he has preferred to maintain an immaculate media presence, and very little is known about his personal life, apart from his parents' origins. Still, Shurdaqi has quietly managed to climb his way up the walls of the Snestaryan football structure, and his recent joining of Lavenya has granted him a National Team spot.

Riccardo Cavaliere #5
Age: 24
Personality: confident, charming, resilient
Current club: Lavenya
Through careful training and lots of resilience, Riccardo Cavaliere was able to earn himself a spot as one of the starters of Lavenya, one of the most prestigious and historically dominating clubs in Snestar. His play style is usually very offensive, relying on his strength to steal the ball and join the attack as an impromptu winger when necessary. After helping Lavenya win the 2024 Snestaryan Cup against Fraliso by scoring a brace in extra time and gaining an immense amount of fame, Riccardo has become subject to idolatry by many Snestaryan fans, including gaining lots of traction with women. However, his heart is already bound to another…

Rinaldo Larizza #13
Age: 22
Personality: Stubborn, precise, disciplined
Current club: Atixa Mistralis (Kanzlia)
Before his transfer to Atixa Mistralis, Larizza'd had a rather uneventful time at Dandelicha Continental. Since the club was having a crisis at the time, there wasn't much space for the young, rotation left back. He prefers to stick to defending and keeping his position, and is not able to support attacking plays well, but he's perfectly capable of guiding the midfield whenever it's necessary. Judging by his inflexible personality, no one would have expected him to leave Snestar, but an offer by a Kanzlian club was too advantageous to ignore. Larizza was also very well-received in Kanzlia, as despite his poor performance (being sent off in the title decider on the last matchday) he was able to help Atixa Mistral win the Kanzlian Honour Division.

Daniele Maratea #15
Age: 22
Personality: affable, a bit apathetic towards football
Current club: Vna-Chuhul Ravens FC (Tikariot)
Daniele Maratea was one of the many new Snestaryan players involved in the National Team’s renovation. After taking part in a fantastic break-out season for Ardalya’s defense, Maratea found himself under Snestaryan spotlights, being constantly called “the next great center-back”. Funnily enough, during an interview he stated that he had actually missed the call from Di Palma, as he was too invested watching a documentary about penguins.

Simone Ramella #18
Age: 20
Personality: uninteresting, shallow, gregarious, bookworn
Current club: Venistalya
A returning presence in the National Team, having last played for the Viola, in the 92nd Cup of Harmony, Simone Ramella is a fairly inactive and indecisive person. He doesn’t care about starting in the national team, though at the same time he doesn’t mind the attention. He just plays football whenever he needs to, and even if he makes mistakes, he doesn’t care. After all, he knows that the Viola now has many right-back talents, so he knows his new place in the National Team is in the bench.

Fabio de Rossi #23
Age: 29
Personality: loyal, one-club legend, natural leader
Current club: Dandelicha Continental
Fabio de Rossi is the type of player to never leave his starting club: funnily enough, he has played his entire career in the capital Dandelicha, initially starting out as a young promise in Victoria Dandelicha's academy, and then briefly playing for Continental in the youth league before transfering to the first team, where he has masterfully taken control of the club's defense, remaining there ever since.

Riccardo Finamore #28
Age: 20
Personality: Dazzling, incorruptible, vain
Current club: Relv Sisse (Solvgaden)
Riccardo Finamore, just like his homonymous fellow teammate, is a romantic magnet for Snestaryan men and women. Unlike R.Cavaliere, though, Finamore lacks the ability to keep himself humble. Despite this, he has maintained a surprisingly long "incorruptible" streak, taking compliments with style and sneaking out of difficult situtation, while at the same time boosting his own perception of himself. He still thinks he's incredibly smart for dodging countless drama, but he's obviously "underestimating his genius", quoting his exact words after a post-match interview.

Sebastiano Balestri #32
Age: 21
Personality: cursed, arrogant, subtle
Current club: Crimsonhawke FC (Tikariot)
Before bringing Crimsonhawke FC at the top of the Tikariot Premier League, Sebastiano Balestri had recently been subject to a "trophy curse": shortly after his departure from Venistalya (which was eliminated in the second round of the Snestaryan Cup because of an avoidable red card from Balestri in the first half of their match), the Snestaryan club managed to secure their 11th title (after a drought of 24 years!). The same thing happened in the 24/25 season, where he'd gone to Ardalya from Edervina at the start of the season, and the Evergreens proceeded to secure the title immediately after. Interestingly, seeing how Crimsonhawke FC had finished their season in the TPL at the brink of relegation, Balestri's transfer seemed nonsensical. However, as Crimsonhawke now finds themselves as champions of the TPL, Balestri's decision was certainly misjudged.

Midfielders

Davide Scognamiglio #6
Age: 28
Personality: cheerful, clever, humble
Current club: Lavenya
While Valentino Garnati is the emotional anchor of the Viola, Davide Scognamiglio is the tactical genius. Despite having spent years playing for Bellamora, a club currently battling to escape relegation in Division Alpha, he dictates play like a master, practically choosing the goals himself despite never even reaching the penalty box. He’s strong, clever, and he helps the midfielder prevent the opponent from even reaching the defense. Outside of the pitch, though, Davide is a cheerful and loving man: every day he makes sure to check up on his family, as well as each individual player, making sure none of them are having a mental breakdown from being too bored (a condition which has plagued Snestaryans since the rise of the Socialpacifist party in the 1950s).

Nicola Acanfora #8
Age: 29
Personality: anger issues, rarely smiles, perceptive
Current club: Ardalya
Nicola Acanfora, with his fellow teammate Nicola Ragusa, together make a strange coincidence: both of them are midfielders called Nicola that play for Ardalya, as well as the National Team. Acanfora is the one with anger issues, for sure: he’s not the type to simulate or tackle opponents left and right, but he’s very easily provoked. His style of play reflects that: he likes to take risks and quickly progress play, while he focuses on pressing whenever the Viola is out of possession. Unlike Camilla Arentas, Di Palma holds great faith in Acanfora's playstyle, which is why he's often the preferred option for the centre midfield.

Martin de Roux #10
Age: 26
Personality: strong-willed, fair, demanding
Current club: Fraliso
Martin de Roux had always been considered a “failed talent” by the Snestaryan media. In his youth years, he wasn’t able to improve much, apart from playing a few matches with mid-table clubs such as Rivya and Grenna. In recent years, though, he’s been growing immensely, so much that he has found his way to the Starting XI of Fraliso and even started as the captain in the Snestaryan Cup final against Lavenya. Just like Camilla Arentas did, Di Palma now starts him in most of the national team’s matches, knowing he has become a solid player who can become very versatile when needed.

Nicola Ragusa #14
Age: 20
Personality: compliant, calm, cheerful
Current club: Ardalya
Nicola Ragusa, with his fellow teammate Nicola Acanfora, together make a strange coincidence: both of them are midfielders called Nicola that play for Ardalya as well as the national team. Ragusa is the calmer, more obedient one: he usually follows the managers’ directions and is the one to keep Acanfora in check. Now that he's had his time to get accustomed to the dynamics of the National Team, Ragusa has noticeably become increasingly more cheerful, spending a lot of time messing around with his teammates, especially enjoying visiting the host nations of the tournaments while waiting for the next training session.

Arminia Cremisi #16
Age: 19
Personality: fragile, shy, sheepish
Current club: Bolenya (Women)
Due to her connections with Camilla Carminya Cremisi, the former President of the Republic, Arminia had always been mocked by Snestaryan media for being a “mommy’s girl” and only playing in the Women’s Division Alpha (the top division in Snestaryan women’s football) because of her aunt’s importance in politics. Due to this, Arminia had always been caught in an unhealthy balance, alternating between school, training for her club Bolenya, and fending off the journalists. However, her debut in the national team seemed to have proven the media wrong: Cremisi's presence has definitely made a difference in the 101th World Cup, and it's likely that it will remain strong for at least a few more years.

Fabio de Filippi #20
Age: 26
Personality: friendly, lazy, versatile
Current club: Edervina
Fabio de Filippi gets a surprisingly high amount of playtime in the National Team, despite his lack of impressive results at Gridorya (before Edervina poaching him in the latest transfer window). He’s not the most disciplined player, but at least he gets the job done: whenever there’s a need to replace a right winger and the national team is out of options, he is usually able to demonstrate his versatility to both his club, and the Viola. Still, sometimes he wishes he’d be able to earn the right to start, though the distinct lack of strong Right Midfielders make him the next best option for the position.

Amos Castronovo #24
Age: 21
Personality: traditionalist, disciplined, observant
Current club: Edervina
Amos Castronovo has never been a fan of innovations in football: despite the countless breakthroughs with new and improved rules, refereeing systems, and tactical discoveries, Castronovo finds his best ground in traditional playstyles reminiscent of simpler times, influenced by his family’s name, always present in Snestaryan football history. Despite this, he has actually found himself to enjoy playing in a mixed national team, something he’d initially been skeptical of, and now looks forward to experience as part of the IAC26 roster.

Nicolò Fusar Bassini #25
Age: 23
Personality: aggressive, creative, quick thinker
Current club: Manaro FC (Bhumi Matawis Empire)
After getting the call from the FSC to join the National Team, back when Snestar was preparing for the WC101 qualifiers, Nicolò F. Bassini was initially going to reject the invite. During his time spend at Venistalya’s academy, he’d grown so fond of offensive football that he’d started to dislike the way Snestaryan clubs play in Division Alpha: Venistalya did help him discover his true potential as a center midfielder with defensive duties (how ironic), though Snestaryan clubs are never too daring. With his transfer to Manaro FC, he has finally come to terms with his stance regarding defensive football, and has renewed his participation for the National Team in the IAC26.

Angelica Malavoglia #26
Age: 25
Personality: VERY hardworking, constantly annoyed
Current club: Edervina (Women)
Angelica's last name has caused her quite a lot of problems, both on and off the pitch. Journalists always joked about how she didn't have the "voglia" to put more effort, but she's since proved them wrong multiple times. After all, she always makes sure everyone knows that she's a true grinder, even if she's always complaining about everything she's tasked to do. She may not be willing to do it, but you can be sure she's going to do it 'til the end.

Ciro Pellegrini #31
Age: 21
Personality: animate, spiteful, persistent
Current club: Ardalya
Pellegrini had always been part of the National Team as a reserve player, before Snestar joined the multiversal World Cup and the national team transitioned to be mixed-gender. When the Viola joined the 87th Baptism of Fire, he'd seen his exclusion as a betrayal, but he still knew better than to start a useless quarrel with the FSC over a benchwarming spot. Still, when he finally got the call from the National Team again, he felt like a burden had been lifted from his mind, and is eager to wear the Viola's shirt once again.

Attackers

Tero Sjölund #7 (Vice-Captain)
Age: 25
Personality: tireless, laconic, antisocial
Current club: Brantisvogan FC (Squornshelan Remnant States)
Born from immigrants living in the small coastal town of Rovina Sole, Tero Sjölund is a simple man with simple goals: put the ball into the net. He may not be the brightest of the bunch, nor the most eloquent, but he excels at doing the only thing he’s programmed for. His time at Gridorya hasn’t been the most profitable in terms of G/A, so Tero was given the opportunity to join the increasingly dominant Lavenya, after a short detour for Albery FC in Saterun. Still, having joined in the closing moments of Division Alpha, Sjölund resulted as a flop for Lavenya, but that still didn't stop other federations from trying to snatch him into their leagues: hopefully, Sjölund will now finally find his true club in the Squornshelan Remnant States.

Giacomo Martinelli #9
Age: 22
Personality: extroverted, party animal
Current club: Dandelicha Continental
Despite not being the first-choice striker, Giacomo Martinelli is a well-known striker in Snestar, famous for his ability to make the defense tremble at his presence alone and with a power that makes even the strongest hands struggle to save the ball. Outside of the pitch, however, he's much less menacing than people think: Giacomo is just a guy who likes to party. He's usually the one to organize celebrations within the team's private quarters, always bringing large quantities of food and beverages (and probably disobeying some sort of diet).

Mattia Castelletti #11
Age: 18
Personality: Insecure, creative, kind
Current club: Lavenya
One of the Snestaryan U-21 youth team’s key players, along with Barami and Lodigiani, Mattia Castelletti had always seen his talent recognized by the National Team's coaches (Camilla Arentas first, then Di Palma too). So far, Mattia Castelletti has proved to Snestar that he has the potential to make it big, especially after his efforts to bring the Viola to the 101th World Cup, and now that he's transferred to Lavenya, everyone is expecting him to become the next Snestaryan star.

Federico Marchesi #17
Age: 27
Personality: stylish, arrogant, spiteful
Current club: Relv Sisse (Solvgaden)
After Castelletti joined the national team, Federico Marchesi's playtime has been drastically reduced. And just like his old club Lavenya did to him, he'd slowly becoming yet another bench warmer. But he hates being overlooked: after all those years spent playing for big names in Snestaryan football, being demoted from the Starting XI feels like an insult, and now that Trondhelle Stags is giving him the space he deserved, he's returned to the form he'd always sought after, hoping to finally see his efforts recognized again.

Matteo Gagliardi #19
Age: 22
Personality: creative, insightful, actively avoids the press
Current club: Lavenya
Another product of Lavenya's stellar youth academy, Matteo Gagliardi is one of the most recent additions to the National Team's roster. Just one WC cycle ago, he'd played in Division Gamma, the third division of Snestaryan Football, for Lavenya's B Team (also known as Lavenya U-23), along with his fellow academy mates, before the FSC decided to remove clubs' second-teams from the main Snestaryan football hierarchy. He'd been brought to Lavenya's first team very recently, where he has surpassed all expectations and has earned a spot in the Starting XI. The National Team simply could not pass the opportunity to include him in. Something strange also seemed to have happened with Gagliardi's age: previously he'd been listed as an 18-year-old by both the National Team and Lavenya's official roster, but it seems completely non-sensical now that it has been discovered that he's actually 22. The real question is: where did all those years go? Did he suddenly age four whole years and nobody noticed?

Veronica Lodigiani #21
Age: 21
Personality: quirky, has difficulties speaking, optimistic
Current club: FC Bohunice (Calgasia)
Veronica Lodigiani is a short, apparently skinny woman, but she's full of power: with her exceptionally strong left foot, she's got the capacity to finish chances quickly, smoothly, and very consistently, which contributed to her success at Brega's women team. She is eager to learn more about football and improve her abilities in favor of more aggressive football, despite the Snestaryan National Team preferring a more defensive approach.

Elisa Baldriga #27
Age: 21
Personality: Bubbly, sassy, snarky, hedonistic
Current club: Arentas (Women)
This young woman could be described as nothing more than “addicted to goals”: Elisa always hangs out around the opponents’ goalposts, serving as the only forward for her beloved Arentas (a club who currently prefers defensive playstyles), who’s been comfortably sitting at the top of the Women’s Division Alpha, about to claim their 32nd title. Despite her young age, Elisa has already become a club legend, after scoring a goal in the closing minutes of extra time to win the Libertas Cup (a charity match where the winner of the Women’s Division Alpha faces the Men’s Division Alpha, usually taken very seriously as if it was a major trophy), the first won by a female team. So far, Elisa has been influencing the board to include more women in the National Team, seeing as the rapid development of the Women’s league is producing more and more star players.

Lucio Fioravanti #33
Age: 25
Personality: strong-willed, comforting
Current club: Venistalya
As Cesare Scanavino's replacement, both for the National Team and Venistalya, Lucio Fioravanti has definitely felt the burden of having to keep the spot of a player with such a large legacy. However, it's obvious that one doesn't simply become the starter of the Snestaryan champions out of nowhere: Fioravanti's shown exceptional skills when picking up the ball in the right wing, on various different occasions. The real question is: will Baldriga allow him even a lick of playtime?
