But everyone and their moms tried to grab those for what I can read back.

What are you talking about? The NPO is not being criticized for being involved in the initial rush for the Sinkers (they famously refused to aid either coalition). The NPO is under fire for their later attempt to displace the recognized, native Delegate - which the NPO was required by law to support/defend through the Pax Polaris Occidens.

Not the overarching point, but it was not an "everybody and their mom" trying to grab them situation. Both were settled in an uncontested manner and developed from there. The NPO supported an attempt to displace the settled, legal, recognized Delegate of the Outback.

You clearly have no idea wha you are speaking to.

You're a WA locked Security Officer in the New Pacific Order, it's hardly unfair to suggest that you are predisposed to defend them... while you're defending them.

I am not WA locked, and Marina knows this. I am lending my WA to NPO for Security Role, yeah, but I am in no way involved in their management or leadership anymore. I suggested this when the ROs were created years ago, I just called them "Influence banks" back then. I could leave any time. I have no officiall commitment to say, as I didn't had it in TWP while I was also keeping influence for use. But you are right, I do have my WA there, as I've had it in all the feeders in the last few years :)

That is entirely fair and true! :)

I do speak without being fully aware of everything, and I am not interested in being aware of everything, when you retire from GP, it is awesome!

Nice Hulldomist platitude, but the NPO was being shit on for their subversion well before BoM dissolved. Have you read the GP forums at all since April?

Just doing my patriotic duty by spreading them!

The NPO has apologized for its actions and initiated a series of reforms to prevent their occurrence again—the Legio reforms seemingly as part. Give them the time and the legroom to show they’re trying to be better instead of instantly assuming malice every time they do something.

People make mistakes and the NPO has paid for theirs. Let them try and fix it.

I'd be happy to offer you a highlights reel of the NPO's behavior these last two(ish) years!

  • While nominally an ally of Europeia, the NPO spent months (or maybe longer) searching for a pretext to end our treaty. In January of last year, the region was rocked by an OOC scandal, and the NPO used this opportunity to withdraw from both our bilateral treaty and the MGC on the grounds that the IC government did not respond to their OOC concerns quickly enough (never mind that the OOC admin team was in regular contact with the NPO's admins).
  • At the end of 2024, then Empress Xoriet, apparently entirely of her own initiative, hosted talks between TNP and BoM regarding a potential end to hostilities. During the course of this conversation, Xoriet railed against the "parasitic" nature of "defender leeches" and their deleterious effects on the game. These talks ultimately stagnated, which is just as well, because BoM continued its trend of impotence from the end of those talks right up until they officially mothballed the region again earlier this month.
  • Quebec has already mentioned this bit, but the NPO led a coalition of regions in a bid to replace Bran as Delegate of The Outback while he was experiencing a deep personal tragedy. When this also failed, the NPO and their friends ditched the region, and then were silent for several weeks until they released a statement doubling down on their behavior. This statement directly led to the dissolution of TWP's embassy with the NPO as well as the end of the PPO.

The NPO has demonstrated itself to be a supremely poor partner on the world stage, and more importantly, they have utterly failed to demonstrate any sincere remorse for their behavior. Actions have consequences, and the NPO and those who choose to stand with her will be made very aware of that fact.

We're entering the beginning of a very tiring yet surprisingly common cycle of the NPO pretending that they've reformed, duping a new generation of players into believing that they've reformed and then throwing that facade into the wind whenever the opportunity presents itself. This is not surprising.

What is surprising is that people are already buying into it. This group of players who're choosing to believe that the NPO can be a trusted and reliable partner is either purposefully ignoring the long history of the NPO not being that (a myopic decision, but you do you), or is truly unaware of the pickle that they'll find themselves in a couple of years when they inevitably stab you in the back.

The NPO has done this song and dance of couping then extorting regions then promising “reforms” for nearly a decade and a half. So forgive us for being skeptical of their ability to actually change, especially after being burned twice prior.

If they are deterred by words and relatively mild criticism, then their pursuit of change isn't genuine. I also do not blame anyone for being skeptical of the NPO because of the choices they made. If they are now wishing to actually do better, they need to take accountability and responsibility for those choices. This must be paired with action, over time, which demonstrates an actual shift. Otherwise, the skepticism and the valid complains will remain.

Government Changes in the NPO

Postby Marinas Island » Wed Nov 12, 2025 7:54 am

Times change, and so must we. My term as Empress cannot, and should not, last too long. Accordingly, I have appointed our long-serving Regent Pasybfic as my Successor, and I wish him the best moving forward. In his place as Regent I have appointed Flame of Dio, in whose talents I place my full confidence. May their leadership guide the Pacific to a bright future.
Marina, Empress of the New Pacific Order

This screams LWU colony despite everything.

If we have to liberate the Pacific and there has not been an actual improvement with things, then we will probably need to have another talk with them.

We all know what's going on in the NPO right now, and what they need is likely a more understanding approach.

Ultimately, Marina saddling NPO with both LWU and Syberis is a bad investment.
