@TeamTrop

Although no @TeamTrop finished in the Top 10 for the Race of Oceania, it was still a solid day which saw @Motorai and @Centur with Top 15 finishes to hold on to their strong positions near the cutline of the NSSCRA regular season standings in chase of teammate #Cocoabo37. While the three Tropicorp drivers remain among the most consistent even if not contending for race victories on a weekly basis, the Tropicorp contingent will grow exponentially when the Hapilopper-Esportiva Exhibition weekend begins. After being cancelled one season ago, the event returns with a re-vamped five day format and Team Tropicorp is expected to have no fewer than 15 cars on track hoping to battle their way into the main event. A full list of Tropicorp-backed drivers expected to compete is as follows:

If we can keep putting together Top 15 performances every week like the one we had in Wollongmatta Bay, I think we will continue to chip away at the points deficit. We're only halfway through the regular season and are within 10 points of a playoff spot. With the #Tropicorp500 set to close out the regular season, if we can head into Tropicoast even with the cut line I think we'll be in great shape. Looking forward to the twists and turns at the high-altitude Mont-Saint-Sulpice Circuit next week - maybe we can even put together a Top 10 run to kick-start our efforts in the final 8 races.

Yes! The rumors are true! I'll be back on track for @TeamTrop in the Berman Bros. Classic at the Hapilopper-Esportiva Exhibition. I really hope Vincent Von Visp is there. Would love the chance to see if he's so bold on track when I've got fenders on my car. Sounds like being an OWARS NSGP champion won't count for the Race of Champions on the dirt but I'll give it my best in the heats, see you at the track!

The engineers at @TropicorpRS have finished development of their next generation of dirt racing tire that has been dubbed the "Rubber Rhino" by test drivers who have driven extensively with the compound at the Mavaloiao Motorplex on Turoki Island. Tropicorp have formally applied to the Berman Bros. Classic organizing committee at the Hapilopper-Esportiva Exhibition to bring the updated 'Rubber Rhino' tire compound for competitive use, distribution and sale for the duration of the Berman Bros. Classic event.

The news of the Hapiloppian Parliament's ban of electronic cars, as well as the legislation's vetoing by the Esportivan nation's new president Brett Booth, was received with great confusion by the members of Team Tsunopin.

'What the hell are they doing?' asked Thea Alvarez, as they were sitting at the restaurant of their hotel room in Wollongmatta Bay, TJUN-ia. It was early in the morning, still some hours away from the Sunday afternoon's race, and it was quiet enough in the restaurant for her and Ilya to hear the news coming out of the television set on the corner they happened to sit in. 'Why trying to ban electronic cars for no good reason?'

'Shh,' said Ilya, trying to get his wife to control her volume a bit. 'Who knows really, half the times it comes down to politics, and people just wanting to settle scores by going for something counter-intuitive against them.'

This was a slight departure for the 69Xer from the usual, though not the one that should surprise people. In the past years, Thea, Ilya and their friends and teammates would have all gone out late and wake up late unless it's for the races. This year wasn't exactly the case, with Thea and Ilya getting married and perhaps too image-conscious, while Cocoabo #28 and Curtis Kirby were too busy looking after their two Kirby-Cocoabo children. In any case, however, neither Thea nor Ilya had issues with the new way of life they had come to embrace.

They briefly looked around, before resuming their conversation. 'I mean, It's not the consumers' fault the Hapiloppian manufacturers haven't found the dream models or even made them,' Thea said. 'Everybody else seemed to have found their ground with electric cars, if not other kinds of those with sustainable fuel. Shouldn't it be easier for them, especially with all the money, the love and the technology?'

'Perhaps,' Ilya answered while nodding in agreement. 'Hopefully, the rest of the world will follow with the times and what comes ahead.' His native 69X, being a high-density citystate with limited land space available and past history of pollution, was one of those that openly embraced electronic and other sustainably-fuelled cars. And while Ilya knew that technologies were still under progress, especially with the energy source in mind, he was confident enough that one day, he would be able to trial them on the NSSCRA competition.

Of course, it is easier said than done. It was only in recent memory where a Sherpalander driver - was her name Shuzhen something? he barely remembered anymore - tried to bring her knowledge of a suspicious substance nicknamed Imagination alongside her predominantly-Nimban crew. And while she had not lasted for long in the NSSCRA circuit following middling results, something that Ilya took minor joy considering her tendency to take offence at almost anything Ilya did on the past season, Ilya knew why some countries and their motorsports stockholders, who were more comfortable with the old ways of thinking, would be so wary as to something so simple and addressable like the electric cars.

Their breakfast ended up being a short one, as Ilya, Thea and Cocoabo #28 decided that they could probably squeeze in an additional practice session before partaking in the race. Of course, this had meant that they would be missing out on the parade they would do. Thea, being one of the past queens and kings of the occasion following her victory in the fourteenth season, also skipped the parade, perhaps in the hopes she would be able to put together another strong race.

Fortunately, it had mostly worked out that way for Thea, as she would finish third, just behind homecrowd favourite Alfonso Mercado and Valentian Clarissa Alanis Star, and just ahead of an ever-ascending Alexander Rivier. Ilya, who had a slightly harder time during the day, also finished strong with seventh place, while Cocoabo #28 was feeling under the weather - ironic as it gets with how sunny TJUN-ia's UO Zone was - and finished a distant 35th place.
<Ilya Tsunopin> I LOVE YOU KAI QIANG

Race of Oceania, Adelaide Park Circuit, Wollongmatta Bay, UO Zone, TJUN-ia :: As it always seems to be for Vilaye EnergySport at the Adelaide Park Circuit, it was quite literally slow going for the team off the truck with River 'Shark' Suzgar II the teams fastest driver in qualifying despite being over a second-and-a-half behind Drake Stevenson's Vilaye Energy Drink pole award pace. The Shark would use their experience to earn a respectible finish despite clearly being disadvantaged with their car, crossing the line in 11th place as the highest finishing Dart driver. Suzgar's teammates Kizara Moa'aaki and Islago Tizilna would place outside the Top 30 in a day the team would certainly be hoping to quickly forget.

The biggest surprise of the day would be that even the Shark would finish higher than the Stevenson's. After dominating the early practice sessions and locking out the front row during the Vilaye Energy Drink Pole qualifying session, Drake and Taylor Stevenson would also finish outside the Top 10 in 13th and 16 place respectively. While the race was won by the home nation driver Alfonso Mercado, the stars of the show were Thea Alvarez and Alexander Rivier who made a run at the victory late in the race. If they had done so, there certainly would have been many disappointed fans at the track but out in the greater multiverse of motorsports fans streaming in there would likely have been few tears shed as Alvarez attempts to provide the much needed boost to Team Tsunopin and Rivier fights hard against the Sophomore slump in an attempt to establish themselves as a top-tier NSSCRA Competitor and playoff participant.

Mid-Regular Season Review: Vilaye EnergySport

#14 River 'Shark' Suzgar II :: Despite being caught in the midst of a career-long win-less streak that stretches all the way back to the Exhibition 500-Mile Race in Hapilopper City during NSSCRA Season 14, The 'Shark' remains the star of the Vilaye EnergySport roster having claimed a pole position and having the best average finish of the three Vilisorma Beverage Company backed entries on the circuit this season. The only major blemish on Suzgar's resume during the first half of the regular season was during the season opening Tundra Falls 500 where the NSSCRA 6 champion fell victim to the chaos and suffered a 33rd place finish. Since then, all but one race has finished with Suzgar inside the Top 16 - a massive run of veteran consistency that has put Suzgar in the Top 10 in the regular season standings despite lacking that all important race victory. It was not without opportunity to take a checkered flag for Suzgar, however. A runner-up performance in the first ever Oktaen Vdes 500 in Edsmontik was a golden opportunity to break the win-less streak before it hit 60 races but Suzgar was denied by another fellow NSSCRA Veteran, Clarissa Alanis Star Samatha Harumi. Just one week later Suzgar nearly secured a second career victory at the Lonngeylin Ring but had to settle for a fifth-place effort while fan-favore Lam Chow-Cheung took the checkers. River 'Shark' Suzgar II and the #14 Vilaye Energy Drink Dart team currently hold an advantage of over 40 points to the cut-line at the halfway point of the regular season and even if they are unable to find victory lane, another 8 races with a level of consistency that they have shown thus far should be enough to see them through to the NSSCRA Playoffs.

Finishes: (6) 33, 14, 2, 5, 25, 9, 16, 11

#4 Islago Tizilna :: As the only Vilaye EnergySport driver to win a race during NSSCRA Season 15, the team's first season after the corporate takeover by the Vilisorma Beverage Company's sports marketing and action entertainment arm, expectations were very high for the #4 Vilaye BOOM! team with some speculating that Tizilna could claim the "Lead Driver" role at Vilaye EnergySport getting the best equipment and seeing the teams efforts focused on ensuring top performances for Tizilna over all else on any given weekend. As the season kicked off, that certainly looked that it could be the case especially as Tizilna opened the campaign with an improbable run of qualifying and finishing in the 6th position for each of the first two events of the season. After qualifying 6th again for the seasons third event, the streak would finally end with a 24th place finish in Edsmontik. Six races into the regular season and Tizilna was still the highest placed Vilaye EnergySport driver in the NSSCRA Point standings but it would all come unraveled Round and Round the Pagoda. A stark reminder of just how quickly things could go south for any driver in playoff contention without that all important asterisk and the free playoff ticket that comes with a race victory, a DNF in Valentine Z coupled with a horrid showing on the Street Course in TJUN-ia have left Tizilna on the outside looking in on the provisional playoff points with 8 races to go until the end of the regular season. After having been solidly in the Top 16 just two races prior, the room for error is completely gone as Tizilna will need to dig deep to not let the adversity define their season in a negative way while the team looks to return to the form that they had seen over the opening five events.

Finishes: (19) 6, 6, 24, 23, 3, 20, 45, 33

The Vilaye EnergySport team will look to travel away from TJUN-ia as quickly as they possibly can after a forgettable weekend that dented their overall playoff hopes with #4 Islago Tizilna falling out of the Top 16. The NSSCRA circuit will kick off the second half of the regular Season with the Spiritair Classic 400 in Quebec and Shingoryeo

This selection comes from the most recent edition of the Hapilopper City Herald and is a response to this RP from TJUN-ia.

A call for calm on all sides

With the Hapilopper City Herald’s resident racing driver, Drake Stevenson

I'm not one for politics. I have a distaste for it. Officially, I'm a Conservative and I find myself voting for Conservative party candidates more often than not. But I find, on occasion, their desires to ban things they don't like to be a little troublesome. If you don't like something, don't do it, plain and simple.

Yes, I'm talking about the proposed electric vehicle ban. I am of the opinion, like most of Hapilopper, that electric vehicles are not real automobiles. They lack the charm and enjoyment of real automobiles, and bring more problems to everyday life that regular automobiles don't. And I have seen the troubling news reports of the fires caused by Major Motors electric vehicles in recent months, fires that are said to be one of the big reasons that this ban has been proposed.

A couple of days ago, a reporter called me up and asked what I thought about the proposed ban. My response is it was an overreaction. So, too, are the rumored pullouts from car manufacturers, and so too, especially, is the proposed whatever the hell is coming from TJUN-ia because of this ban. Everyone is overreacting to a minor situation.

Allow me to give you my take from a racing person's perspective. The Major E-celsior, the electric vehicle that caused the fires, is still eons improved from the Preston electric car from many years before. It is my understanding, from friends working for automakers, that prototypes have been constructed, both of the electric and alternative fuel variety, but the general opinion is that the vehicles are "not quite ready for prime time," as one person said.

To ban the technology entirely is to keep that technology from advancing.

It feels weird for me to agree with Brett Booth, our cottage-dwelling President who thinks everyone is wrong for having fun. But he's got a point here. To ban a technology will prevent it from advancing.

I asked someone from Preston Autos about this proposed ban. Under condition of anonymity, they said that while, officially, they're in favor of the ban, they feel this is a result of a vehicle not adequately tested.

"Vehicles aren't supposed to catch fire like that," the official said. "The Major caught fire because it wasn't properly tested. We've been working on a prototype for the last couple of years and we wouldn't put it out unless we were absolutely sure it was ready. The problem is, Major wanted to get out in front of everyone and they wanted something ready for HapEx. So they sold a car that wasn't ready yet and never fixed it. That's why EVs have such a stigma here. We tried putting one out years ago and we made the same mistake."

So I would ask that the Hapiloppian Parliament pump the brakes on this. Electric vehicles have a stigma here, yes, and rightfully so. But they won't always. That's what's beautiful about technology. It always advances. If anything, rather than ban the technology, put it through more intense vetting.

And I would ask that TJUN-ia pump the brakes on what sounds like a trade war because the Hapiloppian Parliament is fumbling the bag over a bad automobile. I like TJUN-ia and I like the gang out there, and I hope I'll be able to compete there, and I hope they'll be able to come to Hapilopper to compete. But slow down and think about this.

To overreact to an overreaction takes us down a slippery slope and that's how the nukes fly. So let the process work. I've been subpoenaed to speak to a Parliamentary committee on the matter next week, as well as a multitude of auto executives.

So yeah. Calm down.
-Hap.
To be on hiatus April 27 - October 17.

The Valentians – Part 7 – Mirrors.

Chief Aviator Eveline Gwen Tracer Hepburn “Fate of Existence and the Omniverse” Ellen Trixie Caitlin Foxworthy Avril Verlene Celinda Sammy Doris T-Rev Oxton Arielle Lindall Leslie Vitesse Allison looked at her scores and replays of herself, wondering as to what she could do better. She wanted to look at it further, before realizing that it would just been more or less the same thing as always – drive better, try not to tackle those that she couldn’t, and more importantly, to be a little bit more aggressive with overtaking and the like. It’s not as if that she was going to run them out of the race anytime soon, it was more of that Eveline was still a little apprehensive when it comes to other cars being around her. “That is so not me,” she thought to herself, “I would have overtaken them and then some more. So what’s happening to me?” After the qualifications in Circuit Internationale de Mont-Saint-Sulpice, it would seem that trying to overtake others is not the sole problem; with her timing setting her up at 61st, to say that Eveline was disappointed was nothing short of an understatement. “Come on, Eve, you can do better than that!” Eveline thought to herself once again, “You are doing well in terms of points, and you already got yourself two wins. There’s nothing to hold you back now.” After thinking it through, she decided to go back to Valentine Z for a quick while.

Arriving in Valentine Z is nothing too noteworthy for Eveline. She went to her home to check out on a couple of things, but there was nothing out of the ordinary. “All the things are more or less in their places. Nothing went out of the containment, containers, whatever I have over there,” she remarked as she went for a change of clothes. Eveline also gave the armour a full wash, even though the salt and grime were not as prominent just yet. It was able to withstand a power wash, and if needed be, she could actually put the entire thing into the washing machine too. The only concern was that it’ll wreck the washing machine itself, even one from Valentine Z. With copious amounts of soap and detergent followed by lavender fragrance, Eveline hung it out to dry, the devices on it still functional because of course they are – they have been rated for space-time travels, so they can take even the harshest wash.

Having dried the armour, Eveline went back to wearing it, making sure that the wrist devices (which in turn rely on her powers, instead of the devices giving her the powers) and sensors on the suit are fully operational, which they naturally are. Satisfied and having caught a whiff of that lavender goodness, Eveline opened up a portal to go back to the Valentian dropship in Quebec and Shingoryeo, hoping for the best with the race itself after an atrocity that is the qualifications. The portal opened up with much intensity, but otherwise harmless for the Valentians and especially for Eveline who is used to this method of travel. She stepped into the portal, coming out to the dropship like expected and something that she has done. There was no one inside, which is something not abnormal. “Oh wow, maybe they all already went for some morning exercise. Or checking up on their cars. Well, I’ll see them at garage!”

Exiting the dropship with the click of a button, Eveline headed on down to the garage, waiting for her #31 to be tuned and fixed a little according to the needs of her. She already told the engineers on what kind of fixes she’ll need, and how to adapt to this particular course. The usual stuff, nothing too noteworthy about it, other than that it would be Eveline herself who needs to make half the magic. Something along the line about the car nothing without its driver, and Eveline wanted to at least salvage what she could for this race. Upon arriving at the garage, however, she was caught by a surprise. “Whoa whoa, miss. Sorry, drivers and staff only!” a NSSCRA official told her. “Er, wait. I am a driver!” she said defensively, wondering as to what was happening. She was then being asked for her name, to which the response jarred her. “Eveline? It’s not in the name list. Please leave the garage and officials area, if you please.” Confused but only for a split second, Eveline soon realized that she might have hopped onto another world by mistake. “Might pressed the coordinates wrongly,” she mused, chuckling to herself. Still, with her being in this world and with time being on her side, she decided to explore around through a combination of stopping time and hopping onto the 4th spatial dimension so that no one might detect her. She won’t have a problem with seeing herself as well if the responses from the staff are anything to go by. “Unless the Eveline or the Gwen in this world was extremely different, or might not even exist. They don’t have the powers like I do, that is absolutely for sure.”

Going into the garages and checking out the cars were certainly a sight. The Valentians are there – at least by technicality. There are also cars and numbers that were obviously different. In this world, the autonomous regions are much more prominent, and there does not seem to be any sponsors on the cars. It was just the nations that they are representing, the number, and that was more or less it. Further, Eveline was surprised to find out that there are others like Samantha-Higgs who joined the fray; THAT Samantha-Higgs, an alternate universe of Valentine Z but with a much different outcome. The Samantha-Higgs that has effectively enslaved the entirety of humanity, and a Clarissa that was much more menacing and dangerous. Here, however, it would seem that the Valentians and the Higgs were all on good terms. There was Clarissa, Marcus, Valentijn, Holly, Jamie, Samantha-Higgs. Eveline then found out that indeed, she was not in the drivers garage or anywhere. At least, the one without her powers; Clarissa was the one taking the #31 spot. “Right, I will need to enter the coordinates properly. Good luck to you all, heh.”

The Gardeners – Part 7 – Learning Process.

Vice Foresittend Jolyn Maxine Caulfield Moira “Неуловимая, Женщина-шпион” Marlene Wendy Lucille Lapis Jill Khorosheva Vin. Zolina łnt. Natasha Vasilisa Helen Ceeta Tescelyn Maximovna let out sighs of relief when she saw her positions on the scoreboard – 12th, pretty good, all things considered including the DNF that she got into the previous race along with Adriana. The previous race at TJUN-ia, for whatever reason it might be, was just an utter disaster for the Gardeners – with Anna having DNFed and Jamie not even getting a chance to start, while the Everlong side would see Jolyn and Adriana not making it to the end. Then come this race in Quebec and Shingoryeo whereby Jamie was once again unable to get her position. “I think I should give her a bit of a pep talk later,” Jolyn thought to herself, wanting to cheer her drivers (and more importantly her friends) up. She decided to go ahead with that first, approaching Jamie as the two of them then talked it through while they are watching the race at the dropship and then at their provided lounging. “I’m hoping for that particular part of the season whereby they’re going to give some of us the guaranteed charters based off the relative performance between nations,” Jamie started talking to Jolyn “I am absolutely aware that it sounded like a cruel thing to ask for, and of course, I definitely should be able to get it with my own abilities. However, things have been getting rather difficult, I will say.” Jolyn nodded, understanding her woes and wanted to help her out but it was not as if she could offer her position too.

“Hmm, I know this is not as helpful and it’s the most typical answer, but I suppose all we can do is try more and more, especially with our lap times for the qualifications. On top of that, well, this is just the 9th race so far, and we still have quite a long way to go. I can only hope and wish the best for you, my dear friend. I do also hope that you will be able to get that guaranteed spot as well.” Jolyn ended off, with Jamie giving her a relatively cheerful smile. Jamie knew that Jolyn was absolutely trying her best to cheer her up, and that that was all that mattered. “I suppose you are right on that front,” Jamie replied back, “We still have that ability to wait for now, but I do fear that the Chase cutoff is getting closer with each passing week. We’ll have to, shall we say, kick it up a notch, yes?” Jolyn nodded, taking a sip of a drink that she poured for herself. “Here’s to us! To much luck that we need and to get on further and all that fluff.” Finishing her non-alcoholic drink with a gulp, she excused herself and left Jamie to watch the race all by herself. “Sorry for leaving you earlier. I need to go tend to one of the classes that I’m teaching. If you need a bit of an off-time, you can come with me too!” Jamie thought about it for a while, but politely declined in the end, “My sincere thank you, but I suppose I will be watching the race for now. I’ll certainly come in future.”

The portal back to Valentine Z was once again uneventful, with Jolyn slowly making her way to Новосибирск, then to one of the many, many schools of Valentine Z that she overlook and see. In actual fact, with her being Head Minister of Education and all, it is normal that she oversees all of the schools in Valentine Z – both the public and private ones. Then there are a lot of schools that she was a principal of, and many, many classes that she would outright teach in. It was all for good fun and actual passion, and Jolyn also has a lot of teachers and colleagues who are able to support and take over for her as able substitutes. Jolyn typically kept to teaching history in general, mostly about the Pre-Valentian Era. As she entered the room, the students were all present and having casual chatters amongst themselves. Jolyn nodded that with acknowledgement, something that she embraced and loved in their entirety. “It’s good that they speak and are casual around you,” she would remark now and then to her colleagues – some of them being newer and relatively inexperienced teachers, “That means that they are comfortable around you, and that is something I wanted them to do. I mean, yes, you certainly want them to respect you, but it goes both ways. So, not through fear but by them being fond for you as a teacher.” Jolyn sorted through papers while the students noticed and was slowly paying attention to her. “Good afternoon, Miss Jolyn!” all of them said in unison, to which Jolyn smiled and nodded, “Hey hey, good afternoon to you all too. Всё ништяк, всё ништяк!”

With all of them settling down in their seats, Jolyn then flipped open the pages of her textbook – in particular about the Cold War in the Pre-Valentian Era that escalated into a heated one with the most deaths even before the nuclear bombs have dropped. On top of her usual teachings and following the textbooks themselves, Jolyn herself has had first-hand experience with the war, but a lot more behind the scenes. The students mostly ranged from elementary to university levels, but nonetheless are all eager to know about the type of things that she had to do. “I certainly don’t mind revealing all about it because at the end of the day, it was from decades ago and that we Valentians as a whole have already resolved our differences and conflicts. With that said, the idea of spying and espionage – as I have typically told these kids, students, and even some of the teachers, it’s not all thrills, actions, and firefights. Well, yes, I do held a gun and I have unfortunately shot it a lot of times than I would like, but it’s just perhaps 5-10% of what I did. Most of what I did was simply going to various places and venues, and for half the time I was able to get in or out without much suspicion. Gathering data, and intelligence sounded easy enough if you got a good backstory and that if people left you alone most of the time. However, in the times of war, people were rightfully fearful and so things indeed get (and got) difficult,” Jolyn paused for a while, “And as you all have read on Page 103, there was no clear demarcation between the nations either. There was a LOT of infighting, so much so that it would interfere with your job. You can very well be tasked with obtaining a drop at an address, only to find out that it was a sting operation… from your own group. Double agents, even triple agents, all of that.”

“While most of it did not descend to a full-blown firefight, it was still problematic trying to fight my way out. Often times a quick CQC was enough, but other times… a shot had to be done. Best if you can escape it without all the attention that you typically get.” Jolyn would continue on for a few more minutes, while stopping now and then to make sure that she was not being too anecdotal. After all, it’s still a history class and as much as Jolyn tried her best to remember the details, and her being clear and integral with all of it, she had to move on to the other events that were happening in other parts of the world. Even if she was very involved, the world had so many stories…

Welcome to Aji No Moto!
Ajinomoto e yōkoso
味の素へようこそ~

Brief History
After a time skip that ended Emperor Hirohito's reign over the then-named Ajian Empire, a newly-restored state named Aji No Moto emerged. From an ancient Edo-themed period with a psychotic emperor wanting to kill sportspeople shaming the Empire, a neo-industrial complex with the latest technology with a progressive prime minister came into the history and timebooks. Catching up with lost time, the Ajians prove to the sporting world that they have what it takes to compete with the multiverse's best in various disciplines.

Brief Geography
Aji No Moto is an island located in Northern Esportiva, with capital being Joshuyo City. The island state is divided into four provinces: Shibara, located at the northeastern part of the country, Shintaki, located at the southwest part, Hayase, at the east to northeast of Shintaki, and the administrative city of Joshuyo, located between Hayase and Shibara provinces.

The Town of Sankyoku
The town of Sankyoku, which is administratively part of Shintaki province, is located at the southwestern tip of Aji No Moto, and is one of the farthest towns from the capital of Joshuyo. The town is known for its fishing industry, but it is also known as the birthplace of motor racing, as most of the illegal street car racing are being held in this town. However, high fatality rates due to the illegal activity have caused authorities to crack down on it. It is also home to the Sankyoku Triangle, one of the most unique speedways in Aji No Moto, as it only has three turns, and its medium banking have caused several high speed accidents that actually caused several fatalities, most known of which was former Sangtian racer Tyrone Tabuso, which the track is named after for several years. However, the events at Filindostan caused the Ajians to distance themselves from any Sangtian or Filindo references, as such, renamed the track in honor of Eiji Ibi and Chiemi Hino, KISMO's initial drivers in the NSSCRA 6, and were both killed during the attack perpetrated by Sangtian forces during the Badai Angin launch event in Filindostan.

International travelers wishing to go to Sankyoku for the race weekend must go first to Joshuyo, as it is the only international airport of Aji No Moto. At peak season, like the weekend of the WGPC race held on the 16th season, several charter flights can be served from select Esportiva cities that do not have regular flights to the Ajian capital - courtesy of the Flag carrier, Aji Air. Daily direct flights can be served from Ingbert-Borbély, Gergary. The airline plans to expand its destination to serve Ajian people and tourists alike. Upon arrival in Joshuyo, bus or truck rentals can be arranged for a 4 hour trip from the capital to the Sankyoku Triangle.

With regards to weather, the entire Aji No Moto usually have 25 percent chance of rain for the race weekend, regardless of the season the country is in.

The Drymark 400 and the Konbini 247
The Drymark 400 will be making its return to the NSSCRA calendar, having been absent for four NSSCRA seasons after the events in Filindostan that put the return of KISMO on hold. The one mile track, with three turns and medium banking, will pose challenges to the drivers with tinkering their setups to ensure the best balance between speed and handling. Similar to Season 11, there will be two NSSCRA events, one for the Multiversal series which is the main one, and the Everlong Contenders' Series which is the second tier one.

Drymark will now sponsor the race, after Aji Air moved on to other sponsoring opportunities, having sponsored the race in Season 6 and Season 11. In season 6, Meghan Sharpe of Cassadaigua got the pole driving the #4 car for Team Cassadaigua, while it was a landmark race for River Suzgar II, affectionally known as "Shark", who won the race, and eventually the Championship. Suzgar would have not probably won the title if he did not win this race, although he would have a chance to win the next two races of the Round of 8. In season 11, Taylor Stevenson (then Henderson) got the pole for the race, while Sherpaland driver Dinggu Wang won the race for the UrGa Motorsports Division of Abanhfleft.

This season, it will be the tenth round and will be one's ticket to the playoffs. Konbini, a 24/7 convenience store chain, is the sponsor for the Everlong race, with the race length being 247 laps which comes along with the sponsor advertisment.

Sankyoku Triangle Ibi-Hino
Days before race events

Hiromu Sugiyama and the KISMO organization were very busy during the week of the NSSCRA race in Sankyoku, with requests of open charters already lodged for the #00 team of Sayoko Noda, and the debut of the #08 team that will be driven by Masamune Gensai. Masamune was able to get the drive thanks to having better placement in the drivers' standings in the Everlong Series against his only competitor, Asami Hishida. He knew that this week is the only chance any of his drivers make it to the playoffs, and he asked the car chiefs to ensure that everything is in order for the KISMO cars.

The KISMO drivers were all present on the pre-race briefing, which was a rare occurrence as Sayoko usually does not attend these briefings as with previous races - the probable pressure of racing in front of Ajian racing fans as well as being widely known in the outskirts of Sankyoku prevented her from doing anything extra-curricular as any sightings of her could lead to another controversy.

Representatives of KISMO's sponsors were also present as KISMO started media day with an announcement that they will participate in this season's WGPC with a full-fledged factory effort, which was lauded by those present at the venue. Ajian racing organizers also announced two domestic racing series next season in order to find the next Hamamoto, Noda, or the next Shuhei Kamado, who is expected to be racing for the WGPC operation of KISMO this season.

“This is… this is confusing. I don’t know what to make of any of this. Is this supposed to be a good thing or a bad thing? I really am confused. Albert, you’re the expert on these things. What insight am I supposed to glean from all of this?”

“Well, it’s really simple, sir,” Albert Rasmussen, head of the Duisdorf Motorworks NSSCRA team, said in reply to the question from the CEO of Duisdorf Motorworks, Harald “Harry” Schwarzmuller. Schwarzmuller was the great-grandson of Ottmarr Hartmann, the founder of Duisdorf. Like many other businesses in Abanhfleft, Duisdorf had managed to keep itself within the Hartmann family, and while that had been a detriment to some such corporations, this was not the case for Duisdorf. It did help that Ottmarr Hartmann’s descendants had been educated to have at least a sliver of care and concern for the family business so that whoever actually takes over would have an interest in maintaining their hold over the company and the company’s share in the Fleftic automotive industry. Harry Schwarzmuller, the fourth generation of Hartmanns to take control of Duisdorf, was more into the business side of things than the motorsports side, which was more the work of his uncle and great-uncle, but he could see how important the motorsports thing was for the company. However, he also understood that he knew little if anything about the motorsports thing so he had to have these explained to him by those who were more “in the know,” so to speak. Yes, there was always a chance that someone might take advantage of this, but considering the trust that previous Hartmanns had put into the motorsports people, trust that appears to have paid off, Harry Schwarzmuller would have to believe that that trust continues anew.

“Simple?” Schwarzmuller repeated. “All these numbers and letters without any nup or NSD signs, simple?”

“Sir, you’re looking at it from a financial perspective,” Rasmussen clarified. “That said, looking at it from the motorsports perspective also doesn’t really make it look any better. DNQ means did not qualify. That means that our driver, and by extension our car, was unable to get itself into the races itself. There are four DNQs, which means that our car was unable to take part in four of the nine races that NSSCRA has held thus far.”

“And what about the numbers? What are they for?” Schwarzmuller continued.

“The numbers are the positions in which our driver and car finished the race,” Rasmussen explained. “Five numbers means that he made it into five races. And in those five races, he finished 20th, 19th, 18th, 7th, and 5th.”

Schwarzmuller nodded his head. “That’s actually not bad,” he muttered. “Looks like we had a bit of a rough start, but now there’s actual improvement. We might actually see a 1 in there sooner rather than later.”

“Thank you, sir,” Rasmussen nodded. “I’m glad that you see it that way, sir.”

“Glad I see it that way?” Schwarzmuller said again. “You mean to tell me that there are people who don’t think that this looks good?”

“Oh, no, sir, don’t get me wrong,” Rasmussen shook his head. “It’s definitely a good thing. But the thing though is that it’s only in the short term. The long term assessment, well, it doesn’t really look as good as the short term does.” He then handed over another sheet of paper to Schwarzmuller, who accepted it and then went over it through his gold-framed glasses. The frame itself wasn’t actually gold, just colored gold, but Schwarzmuller liked wearing it because it gave the impression that it was actually gold.

“Oh, wow,” he muttered as he read the data before him. “That’s… that doesn’t look good. I don’t think that looks good.”

“You’re right, sir,” Rasmussen nodded again.

“So many numbers in the 30s and 40s,” Schwarzmuller said. “Normally, I would see that as a good thing, but it would seem that that would be a mistake on my part.”

“Yes, sir, that’s why those of us in the Motorworks team are not so sure that we might be able to carry forward the momentum of these recent results,” Rasmussen said. “We haven’t had the best time in NSSCRA in recent years, but last season was maybe the worst that we’ve ever experienced in the four years that we’ve been in stock car racing’s top series in all the multiverse. Not as many DNFs and DNQs as previous seasons—mostly because Koshiro, Mr. Kawai, had a guaranteed charter and didn’t have to worry about qualifying all that much—but the fact that he was languishing at the back of the field for most of the season has cast doubts. Clearly, our car has potential, and the early results show that, but for whatever reason, our competitors simply outpaced us. Whether it’s development or setup, our competitors moved in front of us and never looked back. The only rival who didn’t move past us was UrGa, and they also went through one of the worst seasons of their own history in NSSCRA. Honestly, last year has been one of the worst seasons for Fleftic motorsports, what with both Duisdorf and Luxur falling flat on their faces in NSSCRA and William Archer being given a shitbox by Preston in WGPC. We’d all like to forget about that, but this year hasn’t been kind to us as well. Maybe Koshiro finally picks up his results or he goes on another run of failing to qualify for two or three races. No one else is going to say it, sir, but right now we’re all crossing our fingers and hoping for the best but bracing ourselves for the worst.”

“The worst?” Schwarzmuller asked. “I mean, you just told me that last year was the worst season that you and your team has had. Are you telling me that despite your man finishing inside the… top 10, I believe? Despite all of that, you still believe that the worst is yet to come?”

Rasmussen took a deep breath before speaking again. “Sir, may I speak freely?” he asked.

“This isn’t the military, Mr. Rasmussen,” Schwarzmuller shrugged. “You can say anything you want.”

“Of course, of course,” Rasmussen nodded. “Sir, you know that the whole Duisdorf Motorworks thing was the brainchild of your great-uncle, yes? He saw Stefano Gatmaitan win the first ever ARTS championship in a Stetson and thought that it would be a good idea if he actually made actual racing trucks. And then your uncle built upon that foundation and turned Duisdorf into one of the most dominant manufacturers in ARTS, and it was also under him that Duisdorf finally entered NSSCRA after many years of rumors and speculation. They were both most definitely motorsports guys. You, sir, well, I’m not sure what to think of you. We all know that you’re dedicated to the company and you’re going to run it the best way that you think will bring us all success, but us in the Motorworks team are concerned that with the recent downward trend of our NSSCRA team, you might see fit to cut your losses and get out while there’s still a chance to bow out on our own terms. That’s our concern about you, sir. I hope you don’t take it personally.”

“I’m sure no offense was meant,” Schwarzmuller waved it off. “And yes, I understand why you and your people may be understandably afraid that you might be the first ones to be furloughed or dismissed outright because of my background. I’m not really into motor racing the way that my Uncle Reinhardt was, but I do realize how important the sports team is to the company and the brand. I will be honest with you, Albert—can I call you Albert?”

“Of course, sir, whatever you like,” Rasmussen nodded.

“Very well. And you don’t have to keep calling me ‘sir.’ Makes me feel like I’m one of my teachers,” Schwarzmuller said. “Please call me Harry. Now, Albert, I was going to say that I’ve taken a look at the books, and I will admit that I found it a little bit strange that the company was still throwing money into something that, at first glance anyway, wasn’t giving us a good enough return of investment. Only the NSSCRA team though; from what I’ve seen, the ARTS team is making us money hand over fist. Not directly, of course, but everyone and their mother wants to buy a Duisdorf because champions drive Dussis. And, as much as it hurts me to say this, I did entertain the possibility of shutting down the NSSCRA team. You’ve already shown me the terrible results of last season, and this season hasn’t gotten off to a good start as well according to what you’ve shown me. It may have been an unpopular decision, but I believe it would have been a necessary one as well. And you would have been the first one to know about it so that you will be able to tell your people and let them prepare for what’s next.”

“You considered the possibility of shutting down the NSSCRA team,” Rasmussen repeated. “But why do I feel like there’s a ‘but’ about to come next?”

“That’s because there is,” Schwarzmuller said. “Uncle Reinhardt set up the NSSCRA team because he wants to enter the multiversal market in the same way that Great-Uncle Adi did with ARTS and the Fleftic domestic market, but that hasn’t really worked out. Duisdorf vehicles are barely making an impact in other countries, and in some places—Saint Kanye, for instance, I believe—our cars do not have a good reputation at all. The fans see a Duisdorf at the back of the race or crashing more times than it actually finishes, and soon that’s the only thing that they think of when it comes to Duisdorf. And they’re not going to buy a car that they think will break down on them as soon as someone looks at it funny. But I’ve come across something curious, something that might help with that. Well, what I mean by that is that I can do something to increase our market share in these foreign markets. It’s still up to you to fix Dussi’s reputation with the rest of the multiverse.”

“I guess, sir?” Rasmussen said, though his intonation made it sound more like a question. “Now, what was it you were saying about another opportunity to, what was it? Increase our share in the foreign markets?”

“Some interesting news has come out of Hapilopper, Albert,” Schwarzmuller explained. “Apparently, they’ve introduced legislation that would have banned electric vehicles from being sold anywhere in their country.”

“Electric vehicles?” Rasmussen asked. “What does that have to do with us increasing our market share? I know that we sell a couple of electric cars and such, but that’s only here in Abanhfleft. How is an EV ban supposed to help us sell more cars in Hapilopper and elsewhere? Sir,” he hastily added when he realized that he was beginning to raise his voice.

“Of course we’re not going to sell our two EVs in Hapilopper if their ban passes,” Schwarzmuller clarified. “Speaking of which, there’s still a possibility that it won’t because their president just vetoed it, but if their legislative process is similar to ours then their Parliament or Congress or whatever they call it could still pass the bill. But the EVs are not really my concern. There is already talk that other manufacturers are considering pulling out of Hapilopper if or when the EV ban bill passes. And if those other manufacturers are gone, then that is a gap in the market just waiting to be exploited. And Albert, that is exactly what I intend to do.”

“Fine by me,” Rasmussen muttered. “That stuff is way, way beyond my own pay grade anyway. But what am I supposed to do then?”

“Just keep working on your race team, Albert,” Schwarzmuller said. “Looks like we’re on an upwards trajectory anyway. I really hope you and your men can keep that up. I want every part of this company to succeed. And if you and your man can keep up that upward trend, who knows? Maybe that will finally convince people from other countries that Duisdorf isn’t as shit as they once thought.”

@VTRacer

Hearing a rumor out of the garage in Aji-no-moto that @Jixaka is going to be kicked out of the #1 in Tyres entry for a special event for the second time this season. Having already conceded their car for the Vilaye Clash, it seems Jixaka Motorai might be pushed back to the #3 once again at the Berman Bros. Classic. Its a big rumor if true though, as a former Tropicorp-backed World Grand Prix Champion and World Rally Champion is set to drive the car instead, pending paperwork. More to follow as the news breaks...

IX: Where Do I Even Start?

This blog was written by Derrick Carlisle, Jaguar Racing's Social Media Manager
Home of the Season X ECS and Season 13 MCS Champions

Where in the everloving fuck do I even start? So much stuff went down, both on and off the track, that I might need a lie down once this is done. Let's just...start the show.

Quebecom 600 at Baie-Verte
Split weekend here in Quebec, with two tracks on hosting duties in the same nation, with Baie-Verte in Joongyeong Federal Province hosting the ECS. Lightning Zhang would claim pole for this race over Wang Anjiao and Colin Meredith with Axel Chase in P10, Kaarina Salo in P20, Georg Lundberg in 25th, Olavi Vile Ruusuvuori in 34th, Alice Jepkosgei in 36th and Gongming Gao...didn't even make it. Dead last, not able to run at all. Brutal, but we knew it could happen if stuff really turned out bad. The race itself saw 8 DNFs, including Rockii Ezis, and while AxChase came home in dead last in P38, just making it home seemed like an achievement at this point. Salo ended up in P24 and AJ made a fightback to P13...though nothing could top what happened towards the front. You see, OVR caught up to Lundberg and then the pair of them worked together to make their way towards the front...and it worked to perfection, with OVR getting his first-ever win over Edmund Flanders and Valkyrie Valentijn Samantha Constantine with Lundberg in 4th. The tears were certainly out after that one and to be honest, I don't blame anyone one bit.

Spiritair Classic 400 (Mont-Saint-Sulpice)
Meanwhile, the hilly Mont-Saint-Sulpice would host the MCS and let's just say we would never forget what ended up happening down here. Qualifying would be good for us towards the top as Michael Stefan took pole over Ilmari Pëkannen and Marcus Alan Ariel Haydn Chua Shu Hui. The good news continued on our end with Maddison Riley-Jones in P9 and Alfonso Mercado in P18, but HM? No. No it did not. Lam Chow-Cheung started in P35 while Aurélia Karvonen missed out by over a second to Yi Tan (P27). Ouch. Also making it in were Cocoabo #28 (P7), Christian Nimrac (P11), Sayoko Noda (P14), Koshiro Kawai (P15), Lexi Patterson (P16), Derdhem Oberheimen (P19), Tyler Sullivan (P20) and Brandondt Fragtenkt (P26). Alejandro Rusegara (P28) and Ilya Tsunopin (P44) would start as the open charters.

It was during the break after qualifying that we learned of the proposed ban on EVs by Hapilopper's Parliament, a move not supported by either Drake Stevenson or their President but supported by the general public and the auto lobby over there. Things got so heated that there were rumours the TJUN-ian government might respond with some economic sanctions but for now, it appears things have calmed down as now TJUN-ia's Ambassador to Hapilopper and the Head of Ddraig International have offered to be subpoenaed by a committee in order to explain TJUN-ia's position on the matter. Now obviously, a trade war is not something many people want over here for obvious reasons - it would be too costly for everyone involved and not exactly TJUN-ian in character - but that doesn't mean I can't say my piece. If Hap decides the EV must go, then it is official: the people of Hapilopper are stuck in 1995. Into MemeWatch you go.

Now then...the race. Where the fuck do I even start? I have a rule when it come to MemeWatch entries for entire races: if you get 10 or more DNFs across the race, then it gets in. I've kept that rule since I started this series 5 years ago. This race, the Spiritair Classic 400, had fourteen DNFs. 14. One-Four. It obliterated the system and in some style. MRJ and Jade Umbra were 2/3 who went out early, Marcus Alan Ariel Haydn Chua Shu Hui and Rustam Ilyich Yudin went out at halfway, Ilmari Pëkannen was joined by Centur Tiones and Jixaka Motorai as well while near the end we lost Thea Alvarez amongst the 4 that went out. Having this much attrition in a NSSCRA race is simply unheard of. Barnabas Mate, in P32, was last on the road...insane. Anyway, Islago Tizilna ended up claiming Dart's first win of the season over Clarissa Alanis Star Samantha Harumi and Yi Tan in this crazy race. Mercado was best of the Ddraigs in 7th, with Stefan (23rd) and LCC (28th) were the others left standing.

Off to Aji no Moto next for a double-header at the Sankyoku Triangle Ibi-Hino. See you there! Sayonara!

Well I'm sure you've all seen the news. I look at it as another opportunity to thank those of you who purchased merchandise from my rookie season to get some extra use out of that merch. Once again, we'll be back in the #3 machine this time for the Berman Bros. Classic. @CocoaboPark and @InuraTea will be backing the run though hopefully we can put in a good qualifying time and make it easier on ourselves. In the mean time, looking to put in a strong performance in Aji No Moto this weekend.

Disappointed to not see Vincent Von Visp on the entry list for the Berman Bros. Classic thus far. Maybe he's focused on securing a ride in the World Grand Prix. Personally, I don't think he's ready for it, and should just come to HapEx and prove himself there instead.

Also appearing are MPs Janet Kitchens, C-Pinkerton; Tom Lundy, C-Hapilopper City; Maggie Alexander, L-East Hampton, Steve Smith, L-Garvinson, as well as Hapilopper City Herald editor-in-chief Mac Thomas, Major Motors CEO James Briggs and Preston Autos CEO Jim Preston.

(Concerning Mr. Stevenson's article in the Hapilopper City Herald alleging the Major E-celsior was not properly tested)
Kitchens: Mr. Stevenson, your comments concerning a proposed electric vehicle ban are very concerning and unfortunate. In your recent Herald column, you mentioned that someone informed you that Major Motors had not properly tested their electric vehicle before they offered it for sale. This sounds like the makings of a libel suit, are you able to produce evidence behind your statements?
Stevenson: Yes.
Kitchens: Do you have it?
Stevenson: I can give it to you. My legal team has redacted certain names as I have an agreement with my source not to reveal who they are. They were concerned about retribution from within.

STEVENSON provides several notebooks, titled "Major Motors Evidence" for members of parliament to study.

Kitchens: Mr. Stevenson, these are very serious accusations, and I would advise that we get the source of these accusations.
Stevenson: No. My legal team has advised me that under Hapiloppian Code JT-25-2-b(c) that unless it involves a matter of national security, a journalist is allowed to keep their sources confidential. And this does not involve a matter of national security.
Kitchens: I disagree with that.
Stevenson: Well, take it up with my legal team. They're here with me.

STEVENSON points to three individuals; JOE PARKER, ANDREW HOLMES and CLAYTON SMITH, STEVENSON's legal counsel.

Kitchens: Nevertheless, we'll move on. Mr. Briggs, are you aware of any testing deficiencies leading up to the release of Major's electric car?
Briggs: No.
Kitchens: So, in this, are you saying that Mr. Stevenson was being dishonest in his reporting?
Briggs: I'm not saying that, I'm just saying that myself, and my office, were not aware of any testing deficiencies leading to the release of the vehicle.
Kitchens: Would you know beforehand if a vehicle had not been properly tested?
Briggs: I don't normally delegate testing schedules, nor do I monitor these. That's up to the vehicle teams themselves and to their superiors.
Kitchens: Was this brought to your attention?
Briggs: Not that I am aware of.

Lundy: Mr. Thomas, what was the vetting process like for Mr. Stevenson's article?
Thomas: Our opinion editor maintains a regular line of communication of Drake for his weekly columns and typically nothing is done unless a column of his contains something that could lead to legal issues.
Lundy: Did the column get flagged?
Thomas: Absolutely. Our opinions editor flagged the article and sent it to our legal team. We were in contact with Mr. Stevenson, and he sent us the specific correspondence that said that the car had not been properly tested prior to release.
Smith: In your personal opinion, and in the opinion of the Herald's legal team, did this come from who Mr. Stevenson said it did?
Thomas: Yes. The correspondence came from someone designing the powerplant. If you don't mind, allow me to read from an email he sent me.

"The vehicle needed an additional six months of testing. We received a warning from up high that the vehicle was over budget and behind schedule and we needed to get it out as soon as possible. Our jobs were on the line if we delayed it any further."

Kitchens: Have you ever had to flag a Stevenson column because of sensitive content?
Thomas: Yes. There was an article that made explicit references to fan fictions being written involving a relationship between Mr. Stevenson and a Mr. Derrick Carlisle, who I understand works for Jaguar Racing in TJUN-ia.
Kitchens: Mr. Stevenson, you want to-
Stevenson: No.

(Concerning Mr. Stevenson's reasoning for opposing the EV ban, which devolves into an argument)
Alexander: Mr. Stevenson, you are the most prominent quote-unquote "car guy" in the country, so to hear your opposition to this electric vehicle ban is surprising, to say the least. But I assume it comes with good reason.
Stevenson: Certainly.
Alexander: Could you explain?
Stevenson: Because you can't improve a technology if you ban it. If you tell someone that you can't touch a technology moving forward, you prohibit them from solving the problems inherent with the technology. Electric vehicles catch fire on rainy days. Power grids get overrun by the charging of vehicles. Fire departments are unable to put electric vehicle fires out.
Kitchens: All of which, Mr. Stevenson, are reason enough to stop the technology right now.
Stevenson: Can I finish, please?
Kitchens: Mr. Stevenson, you've just given a good enough reason why we should protect Hapiloppians from this quote-unquote "technology," as you call it.
Stevenson: Well, can I finish instead of you interrupting me? I don't appreciate being interrupted.
Kitchens: Fine.
Stevenson: Now then, all of those problems I just mentioned, you can... you can solve each of those problems if you allow the smartest amongst us to do their jobs. The fire departments get the proper procedure to get these fires taken care of without burning out a whole damn city block. The vehicles themselves become much less flammable. We don't suffer brownouts because a bunch of people are charging their EVs. And on top of that? You get vehicles that don't take a day and a half to charge. You get vehicles with a longer range and more power. You ban the technology, and you'll never be able to drive one from Slembana to Star United States on one charge.
Alexander: Mr. Stevenson, in your educated opinion, do you find this possible?
Stevenson: What, faster charging, longer ranges and more power?
Alexander: Yes.
Stevenson: Yes. Absolutely.
Kitchens: Mr. Stevenson, what makes you think that any of this is possible? And what makes you think that these vehicles can be safe?
Stevenson: Because it works in other countries. You look at a place like TJUN-ia or Saint Kanye, and you find these vehicles working just fine there.
Kitchens: Why does it work there?
Stevenson: Because it lacks the stigma there. We released an electric vehicle here when I was a teenager and it wasn't ready. Preston gave up because it nearly sank the company. They don't have the same feelings towards electric vehicles there we do here. The fans booing the electric car wouldn't happen there. So they've probably been developing them a lot longer.
Kitchens: How do you know this?
Stevenson: Because I've been to both countries. I believe there are some folks, particularly from TJUN-ia, that have offered to testify, I think they'll be testifying when they're in Hapilopper.
Kitchens: That is indeed the case. Let me ask you a question, Mr. Stevenson: Do you own an electric vehicle now?
Stevenson: No.
Kitchens: Would you ever own an electric vehicle?
Stevenson: Now? No. In the future? It depends on how the technology has advanced...
Kitchens: This is a yes-or-no question, Mr. Stevenson, plain and simple, yes, or no, would you ever own an electric vehicle?
Stevenson: No, Ms. Kitchens, this is no a yes or no question. I own Hapiloppian vehicles exclusively and that means owning what they build. And as it stands, I would not own one right now.
Kitchens: So, that it's settled...
Stevenson: You will stop interrupting me! I didn't come here to be a pawn in your stupid political theater. I came here because I had a good reason for it. You think this is going to be good for the country, but at the end of the day, it's going to lead to a lot of unintended consequences. People are going to pull out and look at this country as a bunch of backwards fools. That's the last time you interrupt me, you got it?
Kitchens: Excuse me, Mr. Stevenson, this is my committee and you do what I tell you. The public is on my side here, not yours. By opposing this ban, you are opposing the safety of Hapiloppians everywhere.
Stevenson: So you didn't listen to a single thing I said.
Kitchens: I have no reason to. You are arguing in bad faith.
Stevenson: Do you even know what that means? I'll finish my thought. If a Hapiloppian car company produces an electric vehicle that I find is better than a gas-powered car, I'll buy it. That's all there is to it.

(Concerning Mr. Stevenson's and Mr. Preston's opinions of threatened pullouts, as well as any Preston EV being developed)
Smith: Mr. Preston, how aware are you of car companies threatening to pull out of Hapilopper?
Preston: Quite. I've gotten phone calls from car companies from multiple nations.
Smith: Would this lead to your company pulling out of those nations?
Preston: No.
Smith: Why not?
Preston: Because we at Preston Autos are not the government, we're a nation. We sell cars. If there's a market to sell cars in a place like TJUN-ia, or Saint Kanye or anywhere else, we'll sell cars there.
Smith: Would you react if Hapilopper asked you to quit selling cars there?
Preston: I hope it doesn't come to that.
Smith: But what if it does?
Preston: We'll cross that bridge when we come to it. We're operating at Preston Autos like you won't, like other car companies won't, and like this ban will not become law.
Kitchens: Mr. Preston, do you believe an electric vehicle can address any shortcomings that currently exist?
Preston: Yes.
Kitchens: And you know this how?
Preston: Because we, like the other automakers in Hapilopper, have operated a skunk works where we test secret projects. And for three years, we've been testing, in secret, another electric vehicle.

(Some murmuring from the crowd)

Kitchens: Has this been conducted with or without your approval?
Preston: I don't tell the skunk works folks what they can and can't do. We give them a budget, tell them to come up with stuff and to have fun.
Kitchens: How aware have you been of this? And for how long?
Preston: Two months.
Kitchens: Is this a problem within Preston?
Preston: No. The car is not ready yet. We've been looking at it and decided it's not quite ready for prime time. If we decide it's ready, and if we can prove beyond a shadow of a doubt it's ready, we'll sell it. And yes, I approve of the project.
Kitchens: Are other automakers working on one?
Preston: I'm not going to speak for the others. I can't answer for anyone else but Preston Autos.

(More murmuring from the crowd)

Smith: Mr. Stevenson, in your professional opinion, what is your opinion of the proposed pullouts?
Stevenson: I think they're overreacting. I think Parliament's overreacting. I think everyone's overreacting. You're threatening a ban for something that can be fixed. You ban it, you can't fix it. But at the same time, I'm not gonna justify one nation declaring war on us because some hot-headed lawmakers didn't like a vehicle. I don't like electric vehicles in their present form right now. But that doesn't mean I'm not going to like them in the future. And just because I don't like something, that don't mean I can't tell someone what they can and can't like. Y'all should keep that in mind. Let the smart folks in the room do what they do best and we'll be just fine.
-Hap.

TIME (AIKA)

Postby Kimi-Suomi » Sun Jan 19, 2025 6:13 pm

This weekend in Quebec was all about time...time and the way it ticks. Things ended and began here. Let's see what.

T2
On the same weekend Gongming Gao didn't even qualify for the Quebecom 600 at Baie-Verte, HMT2 also struggled in the session with Kaarina Salo in 20th, Georg Lundberg in 25th and Olavi Vile Ruusuvuori in 34th. That doesn't sound like the recipe for success and with Salo only finishing in P24, that seemed to carry...until you looked up. You see, OVR eventually found a way to catch up to Lundberg in this race and when #73 and #78 realised they were together, the most obvious plan in the universe was set - team up and get up to the front, simple as that. For the rest of the race, they worked together on that plan by battling everyone that stood in their way - Ddraig and Tramor - and things were certainly heating up with 5 to go. From there on, OVR was fighting for a 1st ever race win in NSSCRA while Lundberg assisted as best as he could. It certainly was a hard fight, as both Edmund Flanders and Valkyrie Valentijn Samantha Constantine were race winners looking to get #2 on the board for their campaign, but OVR had had enough of waiting to give Team Arktinen the glory it deserved...and so, he took that chance.

TAxHM: P1, P1! USKOMATTOMISTA! USKOMATTOMISTA!
OVR: WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! FUCK YES! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
HO: Olavi! You sweet motherfucker! That was unbelievable! You have done us so proud, well done!
OVR: Kiitos, Henri. I wouldn't be here without you.
MH: OVR, you are a NSSCRA race winner! Well done, the Pomo is so proud!
OVR: Kiitos, Martti...Kiitos...

Finally, HM x Team Arktinen had gotten their first win in program's history, the biggest achievement TA had managed in their existence to date. And it was glorious. The podium, the anthem, the champagne...everything. OVR turns 19 around Jungle Fever time. Not bad for an early birthday present, huh?

@VampWolfBoy

No need for an EV ban when you have the capability to make the best possible out there. #ThinkBigHapilopper

WELCOME TO HAPILOPPER CITY!

For the next three weeks, Hapilopper City will become the center of international motorsport as it hosts a number of major racing series - the international NSSCRA Multiversal Cup Series and Everlong Contenders Series, as well as the the local HASCAR Challenge Cup and the Dominion Outlaw Series' winged sprint cars and super late models. All will compete as part of the annual Hapilopper National Exhibition, considered these days to be the biggest party of the summer for everyone in the Dominion. It starts this week with Coweta Agricultural Week at the Exhibition, featuring the Berman Bros. 300 NSSCRA race. The next week, it's time for one of the most intriguing races on the Hapiloppian sporting calendar, as competitors from all walks of life - stock car racing, dirt racing, Grand Prix racing, rallying, and many other - compete in the Berman Bros. Classic. And then, the next week, it's the Exhibition 500-Mile Race at the One-Mile HC Raceway.

Hamilton Square in downtown Hapilopper City
is the sentimental center of town.

While auto racing has long been king in Hapilopper, and while the Hapilopper National Exhibition will be underway for the next several weeks, there’s plenty of other things to do in the Dominion beside watching auto racing. Hapilopper City, for example, the largest city and capital of the Dominion, is one of the cultural centers in the region. The National Museum of Natural and Unnatural History, for instance, is a popular place for out-of-town residents. This year, their featured exhibit is called "The Heroes of the Exhibition," and features some of Hapilopper's most famous technological artifacts introduced at the Hapilopper National Exhibition in years past, as well as a life-size replica of "The Pass" - Drake Stevenson's sideways, tire-smoking outside pass on Kai Qiang to win the Super Skychief 500 several years ago - recently rated the most famous move in the history of Hapiloppian auto racing.

Not interested in historic artifacts? How about checking out a concert? Hapilopper City has more than their fair share of concert halls, and on a given night in downtown Hapilopper City, you’ll find your favorite genre of music, regardless of what it is. There’s the Stockyards, one of the leading country music venues in the country, that features a headliner almost every night. There’s Palmwoods Hall, one of the top venues for up-and-coming rock stars, that has a show every night during the HNE. There’s Riverside Park, which features some of the top rap and hip-hop stars in the country, and Kenwood’s, one of the top dance music venues in the country.

If loud music isn't your thing, there's plenty of other things to enjoy. Some of the finest culinary selections in all of Atlantian Oceania reside in Hapilopper City, including Craven's Steakhouse, rated by "Chunk o'Meat Monthly", Hapilopper's guide to restaurants, as the best steakhouse in all of the Dominion. Like beer? Check out Andrew's Pub, located on the north side of Hapilopper City! Andrew McPherson, the proprietor, and a former HASCAR driver, carries no less than three dozen beers on tap and carries all the major sporting events on four big-screen televisions in the bar. You might even see one of Team Blue's famous drivers, most of whom frequent the watering hole!

The city, with a population of 40,025,310, is the largest city in Hapilopper, and is moving every single minute of the day and night. The sentimental center of town, of course, is Hamilton Square. 245 years ago, Hapilopper City, then known as Hamilton City, grew out of that square, and in 1879, to celebrate the city’s and the nation’s centennial, a giant fountain was erected in the middle of Hamilton Square. Since then, the area has become the site of major concerts and watch parties for some of the biggest moments in Hapiloppian Sport, most notably several years ago when the Hapilopper National Football Team stunned the world and won the Baptism of Fire, and of course in the last couple of years as Team Hapilopper qualified for World Cups 97 and 98. Thousands of fans are expected to congregate on Hamilton Square this weekend to watch each of the major races at HapEx.

ABOUT THE HAPILOPPER-ESPORTIVA EXHIBITION

In 1879, a group of individuals, looking to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Dominion of Hapilopper, held the “Hapilopper Centennial Exhibition,” featuring the latest in technology, a history lesson of what had existed in the past, and a chance for Hapiloppians to party. Since then, the Hapilopper National Exhibition has become the largest event in the country, and features exhibits from all walks of Hapiloppian life. This year, the exhibition's theme is "The Esportivan Promised Land" and shows off how life in Hapilopper has improved with its recent membership into Esportiva.

There’s the annual Hapilopper chili cook-off, which, with the exception of several years ago after an unfortunate incident involving hot sauce, has brought some of the best chili recipes to Hapilopper City. There’s the agricultural fair, which features some of the top equipment in the agricultural business in Hapilopper, not to mention some of the finest livestock and produce in the entire country. The AgFair promises to feature the newest in farm tractors, perhaps Hapilopper's fastest-growing industry sector, especially in the past year. There’s the technology fair, which shows off the leading edge of technology in this country that’s available for you to buy right now, not to mention some of the technology you should expect to see in the coming years. This includes the newest in computer simulation equipment - specifically that for flight simulators and racing simulators. eRacing, the massively popular online racing simulation, has promised to introduce a major new feature to their online racing simulation at HapEx this year.

There's also the automotive fair, where Hapilopper's Big Five automakers - Preston Autos, Major Motors, Stevens, Primetime and Hamilton - look to one-up each other with their new offerings for the coming year. It has been the setting of the start of an arms race amongst Hapilopper's big five, and that arms race only looks to be intensifying as each of the big five are rumored to be introducing sleek new bullets both for the road and for the track. Already promising to make a big wave at the Automotive Fair is the new Preston PGP-04, the new World Grand Prix Championship bullet from Preston Autos.

A WORD FOR INTERNATIONAL VENDORS AND SPONSORS

Do you sponsor a car in the NSSCRA? Would you be interested in sponsoring an NSSCRA car? Have you sponsored an NSSCRA car and never knew it? You will be granted free vendor space at the Hapilopper National Exhibition for the duration of the event!

What’s that you say? You’ve never visited the Dominion? You’ve never had a footprint in Hapilopper? Well, hell, that’s not going to stop you! The Dominion of Hapilopper, and the officials of the Hapilopper National Exhibition is more than happy to welcome you to introduce yourself and your services to the people of the Dominion. Vendor space, of course, is available on a first-come, first-serve basis, and is located between the Hapilopper City Raceway and the HNE Half-Mile Dirt Oval. A wide variety of organizations from across the multiverse have exhibited their wares and "Vendor Alley," as it has become known, has become one of the most popular features of the Hapilopper National Exhibition! Thousands of Hapiloppians visit Vendor Alley during each day of the Hapilopper National Exhibition, and this year promises to be no exception.

GETTING THERE

Hapilopper City Airport is the largest airport in all of Hapilopper, and is nine miles away and across the West River from the fairgrounds, in the suburban city of Conyers. Don’t let that get you down. For a small fee, the Hapilopper City Airport is offering shuttle services to the Hapilopper National Exhibition grounds, as well as nearby services.

Residents and tourists are strongly encouraged to consider using the CART (City Area Regional Transit) systems, which includes train and bus service all over Hapilopper City and its surrounding locale. CART trains and buses will operate on a 24/7 basis throughout the Hapilopper National Exhibition.

NSSCRA 16 - Islago Tizilna Back-To-Back Victories & Berman B

Drymark 400, Sankyoku Triangle Ibi-Hino, Sankyoku, Aji No Moto :: Midway through the NSSCRA 16 Regular Season and the questions had begun to circle around Vilaye EnergySport driver Islago Tizilna. After a strong start to the campaign, a DNF in Valentine Z and a poor showing in TJUN-ia dropped Tizilna outside the projected playoff zone. After having ended NSSCRA Season 15 as the lone Vilaye EnergySport driver to claim a victory, the conversations had begun as to whether Tizilna would be taking over as the #1 driver at the Rockii Coast based team, supplanting the teams only former NSSCRA Champion, River 'Shark' Suzgar II who is in the midst of a career-long winless streak. However, it had been Suzgar and not Tizilna that showed the championship caliber consistency through NSSCRA Season 16 and while the #14 Vilaye Energy Drink Dart had yet to find victory lane, a pair of podium finishes and a seemingly never ending string of strong runs had place The Shark solidly inside the projected playoff points.

It seemed like the Spiritair Classic in Quebec and Shingoryeo would be an important inflection point on the season for Islago Tizilna and the #4 Vilaye BOOM! Dart Team. They surely could not continue their form at the bottom of the standings - continuation of such form would certainly see Tizilna out of a ride by the end of the regular season. But if their form was to improve - which Tizilna would they find? The one with four top 10 finishes in the first 6 races of the season? Or the one who split those finishes up with a pair of middling 25th place performances?

The air may have been thinner and the starting position less than impressive, but none of this was a problem for Islago Tizilna. Crew Chief Intrada Explodila laid out a masterful strategy to get Tizilna in front of the pack during Segment 3 avoiding a slew of DNF's around them and the Dark Driver never looked back. The commentators attempted to create some drama in the final laps suggesting that if Tizilna were to make a mistake that Clarissa Alanis Star Samantha Harumi would potentially be close enough to get a bumper to the #4 car, but that proximity would not close and Tizilna would hold on for their second career victory, a guaranteed spot in the NSSCRA Multiversal Chase for the Cup and the return to form that the team most desperately needed.

Riding the high from their first victory of the season, the team would arrive in Aji No Moto and be promptly sent right back to the ground with another poor qualifying run. On a circuit that no one had seen in a while, having only been re-added to the NSSCRA schedule this season, Tizilna would post the 39th fastest time in the Vilaye Energy Drink Pole Qualifying session leaving them stuck in the 37th starting position on race day.

It would be a slow first segment for Tizilna working their way through the traffic in front of them but by Segment 2 the #4 Vilaye BOOM! Dart had blasted into the Top 10. The Car clearly had race-trim pace and Tizilna would not drop out of the Top 10 for the rest of the race after getting established there and in the closing laps would be in an intense battle at the front. Alexander Rivier of Aphrilia was challenging Clarissa Alanis Star Samantha Harumi for the race lead with Tizilna and teammate River 'Shark' Suzgar II running just behind them. Then, it was the opportunity the Dark Driver needed as Rivier sent it in to briefly take the lead, then washed up the track. As Clarissa had to break throttle momentarily to cut down below Rivier and seemingly re-take the lead, Tizilna was able to stay in the throttle and cut underneath both drivers in a three-wide move to take the lead. Once Tizilna had the clean air on the nose of their Dart that was all they needed to hold on the final laps and take the victory, beating Clarissa Alanis Star Samantha Harumi to the checkered flag for the second consecutive week.

Just weeks after some were wondering if Tizilna's lone victory during NSSCRA Season 15 was just a flash in the pan, the Dark Driver has become the hottest driver on the NSSCRA circuit joining an exclusive club of drivers to win back-to-back NSSCRA events. Now, the NSSCRA circuit moves on to the Hapilopper-Esportiva Exhibition, site of Tizilna's first career victory one season ago in the Exhibition 500-Mile Race and the Vilaye BOOM! #4 team will be riding sky high with confidence and nothing to lose with their place in the NSSCRA place assured.

The following conversation is not a matter of public knowledge. It is to be treated like a confidential government briefing.

“The President will see you now, Mr. Yurievsky.”

“Spasibo,” Yakov Leonidovich Yurievsky said with a nod to the personal secretary of the President of the Pridnestrovian Republic. “I won’t need an escort, Masha; I know the way.”

“But sir, it’s protocol that someone must accompany you—” But the secretary’s pleas fell on deaf ears as Yurievsky had already made his way past the double pine doors leading to the presidential briefing room. The two security officers in suits flanking the doors also could do nothing else but watch as this latest visitor to the president made his way past them seemingly without any care or concern for protocol. One of the officers nonetheless followed Yurievsky into the room, even if only to say, “Sir, you just can’t barge in on the President like that!” But just like the presidential secretary, Yurievsky ignored him as well.

The presidential briefing room was a large and resplendent affair with white marble columns in the four corners and beige walls on the sides. A large red Hatayese rug covered the wooden floor which was made of the same pinewood used for the doors, complementing the large cedar table that was the centerpiece of the entire room. Three chandeliers hung from the ceiling to provide illumination to the room, although currently none of them were on as more modern fluorescent tubes were doing the job at the moment. A portrait of Galdar Rodionovich Umayev, first president of the modern Pridnestrovian state, hung in the place of honor above the head of the table, on the wall facing the pine doors. Two flags of Pridnestrovia on flagpoles flanked either side of Umayev’s portrait, and next to these flags were the flags of the nine constituent states of the Pridnestrovian Republic (Transnistria, Frivolov, Leninov, Yatuvilsk, Krav Mountains, Karavatsenin, Rivymiyitevko, Ixania, and Hatay).

Seated at the head of the table was Raisa Innokentyevna Fedorenko, President of the Democratic People’s Republic of the United Socialist States of Pridnestrovia. Fedorenko had been in the position for only a year, but she was no political rookie; in a country like Pridnestrovia, it was practically impossible for anyone to attain the presidency without any sort of experience. Fedorenko herself had already been a deputy, a councilor, and the Prime Minister before she took the top spot in the Pridnestrovian political hierarchy. Like all of her predecessors, Fedorenko was a member of the Communist Party of the Pridnestrovian Republic, although analysts had variously described her as being more moderate or even a progressive compared to the previous president Durag Nikovgorodiev. That said, while she may be a member of the Communist Party, Fedorenko had already stated multiple times that she didn’t consider herself a communist but rather a public servant who simply held a party card. And she was also still early enough into her term that she had not yet enacted enough policies for anyone to claim one way or another, although she had stated that her main objective for her term was to improve Pridnestrovia’s relations with the rest of the multiverse.

There were three other men in the room alongside Fedorenko. On her left were Boris Borisovich Tokarev, Minister of Finance, and Dmitry Sergeyevich Atolov, Minister of Trade and General Industry. Meanwhile, on Fedorenko’s right was Major General Boris Faddeyevich Birsakov, Director of the Committee for State Security, the feared KGB. They looked like a strange and surprising collection of individuals set to meet the Pridnestrovian president alongside Yakov Yurievsky, who had styled himself the “financial advisor” of the Urotovsky-Gatutin General Machine Building Enterprise, one of the biggest corporations in the Pridnestrovian defense industry complex. But Yurievsky knew that it was these men who had the power to make sure that the plan that he had cooked up could actually come to fruition.

“Of course it’s you,” Minister Atolov said as Yurievsky entered the briefing room. “I figured as much. Who else would have the two brain cells to concoct such a hare-brained scheme as well as the balls to actually want to see it come to life?”

“Good evening to you too, Dmitry Sergeyevich,” Yurievsky replied, not hearing or choosing not to hear Atolov’s backhanded compliments. “I trust your wife and your daughter are doing well. Young Maria’s just come back from her second deployment to Ceroat, last I heard.”

“Actually, Maria is on her way to her third deployment in Nordskania,” Atolov replied carefully. “But enough about that, Yakov. You’ve got what you wanted. You’ve got the President, the Minister of Finance, the Minister of Trade and Industry, and the Director of the KGB as your captive audience. So, let’s hear it.”

“Now wait just a minute, Dmitry,” Minister Tokarev said before Yurievsky could speak. “Do you want to tell everyone else in the room what you know about what Yakov here has in mind? Because if you do, I would most certainly love to know why you have access to this information and I don’t!”

“Well, isn’t that funny?” Director Birsakov chuckled. “The financial advisor isn’t giving any advice to the finance minister. As the Westerners say, that is messed up.”

“Thank you, General,” Tokarev said pointedly. “Now if there’s anything else that isn’t completely inane that you would like to point out then feel free to do so.”

“Gentlemen!” President Fedorenko said in a raised voice before the room could descend into a shouting match. “It’s clear to me that the mere presence of Mr. Yurievsky is enough to send most of us over the edge. I do not want to be in the same room as him just as much as you all do. But I’ve seen the brief outline of his proposal, and he’s not going to give it a rest until he presents it to us. So let him do just that so that we can all go home. Now, with that said, Mr. Yurievsky, you have the floor.”

“Thank you, Comrade President,” Yurievsky said, but before he could say anything else, the president groaned.

“Oh, for the love of God, Yakov, cut that ‘comrade’ crap already!” Fedorenko sighed. “I know you’re old, but this isn’t the 70s or the 80s anymore. No one in this room is a socialist, let alone a goddamn Communist! Just call me Madam President or whatever.”

“As I was saying, Madam President,” Yurievsky said without skipping a beat, “the Urotovsky-Gatutin General Machine Building Enterprise is one of the largest defense industries in Pridnestrovia. Some might even say that it is the biggest, but I am a modest man so I will only claim membership among the elite. In any case, while most of the world knows UrGa as a manufacturer of tanks, trucks, and other such military vehicles, many people may not be aware that UrGa is also a participant in the multiversal civilian automobile industry. We accomplished this by acquiring a controlling state in Luxur Motors, which is based in Abanhfleft—”

“Dear God!” Birsakov cried out. “I didn’t come all the way here from the insurance company to listen to a history lesson!” The headquarters of the KGB was located in the former Nistreanu Insurance Corporation Building, hence the “affectionate” nickname for the KGB’s home in Tiraspol.

“Boris is right,” Tokarev said. “We’re all tired, it’s past midnight already, and we simply don’t have time for your long-winded tirades. Just get to the point already, Yakov, so we can all get this done and over with.”

“Very well,” Yurievsky nodded, though his tone suggested that he didn’t take lightly to being interrupted, even if it was by two highly-placed men in Pridnestrovian politics. “Certain developments have come to light in the Dominion of Hapilopper. Now I know that the next question out of your lips will be, ‘What do we care about what’s happening in Hapilopper?’ It’s not like they’re regional neighbors of ours, da? But believe me, comrades, what is happening in Hapilopper is going to open up a massive opportunity for our country and especially our automobile industry.”

“If anyone can wake me up when we finally get to the point then please do,” Atolov muttered, drawing a short chuckle from Tokarev.

“In the last few days, the Hapiloppian Parliament has introduced a bill that, if passed, would ban sales of electric vehicles in all of Hapilopper,” Yurievsky continued, ignoring the constant barbs from the others. “Their president has already announced that he will veto the bill, and in response their Parliament said that they will override their president’s veto and push the bill through.”

“I still don’t see what any of this has to do with Pridnestrovia’s finances, trade and industry, or state security,” Tokarev said.

“A number of major automobile manufacturers have already stated their intent to withdraw from the Hapiloppian auto market should the Hapiloppian EV ban become law,” Yurievsky pressed on. “We are talking about names such as Chadwick from Saint Kanye, arguably one of the biggest auto manufacturers in this part of the multiverse, and Ddraig from TJUN-ia. Speaking of which, TJUN-ia itself has already stated that they will respond to the Hapiloppian EV ban by imposing retaliatory tariffs on Hapiloppian vehicles coming into TJUN-ia. But that’s a side note to this whole affair. I mention all of these things, comrades, because I believe that the situation has presented Pridnestrovia an opening which it could and should exploit.”

“Finally,” Director Birsakov muttered. “It might have taken us all twenty years, but we’ve finally arrived at the point you wanted to make.”

“If major and international auto manufacturers are mooting their withdrawal from the Hapilopper market courtesy of this EV ban, and they do look like they will withdraw if the ban is passed,” Yurievsky continued, “then that is a large section of the market just demanding to be supplied. And, comrades, I believe that Urotovsky-Gatutin, courtesy of our affiliate Luxur Motors, is best suited to fulfill that demand.”

The room was quiet for at least a few moments as everýone else tried to digest what Yakov Yurievsky had just said. Eventually, it was Minister Atolov who broke the silence. “Are you serious, Yakov?” he asked in a tone that was dripping with incredulity and disbelief. “Did you seriously just call for a meeting between two ministers of the government, the director of the KGB, and the fucking president of Pridnestrovia just to tell us all that you’re going to do what any self-respecting company would do and take advantage of an opening in the market?”

“Obviously, it’s not as simple as that, Dmitry,” Yurievsky replied. “It’s not simply about taking advantage of a developing situation; it’s about making sure that the situation continues to develop to our advantage, and making sure that nothing happens to the situation that will put us at a disadvantage. Yes, the Hapiloppian parliament will override their president’s veto and make this EV ban into law in the next few days, but what if, in the near future, their Parliament decides to overturn the ban themselves eventually? What if the Hapiloppian people decide that electric vehicles aren’t as awful and dangerous as they have been told? Already, there is a small segment of their population calling for everyone else to just think about what it is that they’re about to do, and for me, that just won’t do. Cooler heads cannot be allowed to prevail on this issue. Hapilopper must continue to believe that electric vehicles must be banned because that ban is what will keep Luxur’s competitors like Chadwick and Ddraig out of that particular market. Director Birsakov, your men and women must stoke the flames of hardheadedness within the Hapiloppian population. Many of them might think that it’s a good thing to ban electric vehicles, but they’re not going to say anything unless they see that everyone else thinks the same way that they do. Surely that’s peanuts for your cyberwarfare division courtesy of the experience that they’ve built up against the Anglatian propaganda machine. And if that doesn’t work then sowing confusion amongst them will have to do. Minister Atolov, it is imperative that when you propose the enlarged importation deal that will flood the Hapiloppian market with Luxurs and even trucks and agricultural equipment from UrGa, you will put forth a proposal that will make them believe that they’re still getting more from us than we are getting from them. And Minister Tokarev, it’s your job to make sure that everything on our end of this deal remains in the green for as long as it takes. That, comrades, is why I have called for all of you here tonight.”

Again, Yurievsky’s words were followed by a deafening silence as everyone else tried to understand what they had just heard. Finally, Minister Tokarev spoke up and asked UrGa’s “financial advisor,” “Did you just seriously tell us all what to do? You do realize who you are talking to right now, right? You are talking to a minister of the Pridnestrovian Republic! Not just one, but two! And let’s not forget the Director of the fucking KGB! Just who do you think you are, Yakov?!”

“Before you all get your knickers in a twist, I recognize that I am only a citizen of Pridnestrovia in the grand scheme of things,” Yurievsky said. “And that is why I wanted the president to be part of this meeting as well.”

“Wait a minute,” Fedorenko said. “Now you’re dragging me into this as well? I’ve always known that you were one crazy son of a bitch, Mr. Yurievsky, but even you have to admit that what you’re proposing here is just unthinkable! I’m trying to restore Pridnestrovia’s reputation to the rest of the multiverse, and right now you’re proposing that I approve an operation that would see us attempt to gaslight the entire civilian population of another nation-state just so you can sell a few more cars than usual! Frankly, I am at a loss for words.”

“So what are you going to do now, Raisa?” Tokarev asked. “Surely you can’t let this insane plan go ahead!”

“I shouldn’t,” Fedorenko shook her head. “I really shouldn’t. But, and I can’t believe I’m saying this, I’ll have to say yes.”

“What?! This is crazy!” Tokarev almost shouted. “You can’t let this guy tell the government what we’re supposed to do!”

“Trust me, Boris, I don’t want to do it as well,” Fedorenko insisted. “But if there’s anything that I’ve learned from my years in the previous administrations, it’s that Mr. Yurievsky here is going to do what he wants to do whether we agree to it or not. The only difference is whether he has the backing of our country or not. Frankly, I don’t know which one is the more dangerous option for our country’s reputation. Besides, all of us here already know about his scheme. What difference does it make for me to refuse it if I know that Mr. Yurievsky is going to go ahead behind our backs? Really, it probably is better for all of us to know what we want to do so that we have our responses ready if… no, when it all blows up in our faces.” She then turned to Yurievsky and said, “Fine. We’re going ahead with this crazy scheme of yours. It’s not like Pridnestrovians have a reputation for being two-faced bastards anyway.”

“Thank you, Madam President,” Yurievsky said with a curt nod. “And a good night to all of you,” he added as he stood up to leave.

General Birsakov sighed and slapped his hands on his thighs. “Looks like the cyber division will have their hands full tonight,” he said. “Then again, I don’t think those geeks actually need to sleep. If you will excuse me, Madam President. Ministers,” he said to the others as he stood up to leave as well.

Finance Minister Tokarev looked around in confusion at the members of the meeting still remaining. “What the hell is going on here?!” he asked. “What’s happening?”

“Welcome to your first taste of the enigma that is Yakov Yurievsky, Boris,” Trade Minister Atolov told him with a commiserating pat on Tokarev’s shoulder. “Get used to it, because you’ll be seeing a lot more of him courtesy of your office. And when I say a lot, I do mean a lot.”

The following email, sent from an anonymous source, arrived in the inbox of one Gord Radcliff, also known as the controversial journalist “Hap O’Loppa,” ten hours after the events in Tiraspol.

Hey there Mr. O’Loppa.

This EV ban’s been the talk of the town, hasn’t it? From the prez vetoing it ot Parliament pushing it through and now they’ve got hearing about whether it makes sense or not. And then Prestons said they got their own EV in the works? Isn’t that a bit confusing?

Someone needs to make sense of all this. Someone who’s hardhitting, who knows how to dig deep and ask the right questions. So ask this question to the public: wtf is up with Brett Booth? He dont wanna go to Hapex, he wantsto keep electric shitheaps on Hap roads, what’s wrong with this asshoe?

Something’s up with that Booth bastard. And youre the only journalist out there who’s willing to ask what that is. Who’s paying him to do this shit? Is it Preston or Major or all the Big Five? They wanna keep their monopoly over Hapilopper’s cars, push the foreign brands out of our country? Is he a North Chinese candidate guy agent actually working for St Kanye or TJUN-ia or Abanhfleft ot start a trade war or some shit? You gotta find out eveything about t his, man. The Hap people NEEDS TO KNOW ABOUT THIS!!!

Oh, and if you can tell us more HASCAR secrets, that would be cool.

Home of the Season X ECS and Season 13 MCS Champions

As always in this game, you start to feel pressure from Round 9 onwards. For the first few weekends of the season, any bad performances could be excused away because you still have time to make things right. But once you cross that halfway point, you know full well that time is starting to tick...and it is running out fast. Some don't care about this hourglass becoming more empty - they already have a win on their resume, that golden ticket to the Top 16 no matter what happens from now. For everyone else? It's open season...and the number of tickets to the dance is starting to dwindle. After this weekend, only six races separate this field from the Chase...and so, the clock is ticking. Who can make it in? Who will be on the outside looking in?

Konbini 247
味の素へようこそ~! Welcome to Aji No Moto! For the first time in 4 seasons, stock car racing returned to this land for a full weekend of action at the Sankyoku Triangle - a tri-oval, requiring a balance between speed and handling at all times. Over in Tier 2, Qualifying for the Konbini 247 would see Valkyrie Valentijn Samantha Constantine claim pole over Michelle Kass Evelyn Vítková Pavlína and Edmund Flanders...and this time, none of the Ddraigs failed to make it in! Alice Jepkosgei would start 4th, Georg Lundberg in 5th, new race winner Olavi Vile Ruusuvuori in 6th, Axel Chase in 8th, Gongming Gao in 18th and Kaarina Salo in 23rd. The race itself would end up being another example of the interesting time at JRT2 as while Alex Remington took the win over Edmund Flanders and Rockii Ezis, AJ was 7th, Gao was 23rd and AxChase was first to retire due to an ICE failure...meanwhile the HMs finished 11th (Salo), 14th (Lundberg) and 24th. HMT2 is whipping our arse right now...and we need to improve if we don't want AJ to be left on her own in the Top 16.

Drymark 400
As for T1, Eveline also took the pole here as Marcus Alan Ariel Haydn Chua Shu Hui would start at the front over the Team Blue duo of Rinzi Aogar Zakhilwal and Drake Stevenson. We were actually pretty consistent in our qualifying as Micheal Stefan would start 14th, Maddison Riley-Jones in 15th and Alfonso Mercado in 18th while HM would see both Ilmari Pëkannen (P5) and Aurélia Karvonen (P7) qualify in strongly as Lam Chow-Cheung was forced to start from 42nd after issues with their car. The others making it in would be Lexi Patterson (P8), Yi Tan (P9 in Car #9), Ilya Tsunopin (P11), Travis Barkley (P21), Koshiro Kawai (P24), Derdhem Oberheimen (P25), Lee Bum-Gook (P30) and Alejandro Rusegara (P33). Locals would occupy the open charters, with Sayoko Noda (P19) and Masamune Gensai (P34) joining Tsuneyuki Hamamoto (P40) in this race.

Now then...about the race itself. Ddraig collected so many bonus points but when the flag came out, no one was in the Top 8. Islago Tizilna won again over Clarissa Alanis Star Samantha Harumi, for the 2nd straight weekend, with Alexander Rivier on the podium but no one on our side could get it together and take the race away from them. Maddy and LCC ended up in the Top 10, Stefan and Mercado were Top 20, Ilmari was 24th and Karvonen 28th - despite everyone having moments inside the Top 10 of this race. Things were looking so good...but now could capitalise. Tsering Chu and Jade Umbra were two of five DNFs on this grid and just like that, Eveline take the lead again in the NMC.

Now then...onwards we go to Hapilopper, despite everything under the sun that has happened in both states over the past few weeks. Hap Speed Weeks is upon us...and some shit is going down because of it.
1) Green Armbands for both JR and HM, to show our commitment to climate action in the face of the host nation.
2) TJUN-ian brands will partake in HapEx itself, but Ddraig will not due to the unresolved issues surrounding its EVs and Hybrids.
3) Louis Maude, our Home-General (head of government), will be in town to discuss the EV issues with his Hapiloppan counterparts. Unlike the local President, Maude will be in attendance for the two race weekends.
4) Me. When I was off last season, I did something no one beyond JR knows - got both my Driver's License and MRO Racing License. That means, in effect, I am technically a racing driver...and now, the time has come to show my stuff. I, Derrick Carlisle, will be making my racing debut at the Berman Bros. Classic, as one of 20 entires JR and HM are sending to the event. I know the prospect of me, the Social Media guy, taking part in this event is a shock...but if the late Nate Ellis could do it, then so can I! In order to show how serious I am about do this, I will step out of the shadows...and accompany Maddison Riley-Jones to the track during NSSCRA T1 driver introductions, no matter where MRJ ends up in qualifying.

This is not a joke.
I will race the Berman Bros. Classic.
I will be involved on the First Sunday.
And I will try my hardest to do Jaguar Racing, and TJUN-ia, proud.

And I will see you all at the Half Mile.

The less said about Mont-Saint-Sulpice, the better. That was the view of the Pomo and the rest of HM's T1 division, which was totally understandable. Here is how everyone in T1 did that weekend, how they improved, and how they are feeling entering Hapilopper for Speed Weeks.

IP
DNFing is hard but when 13 other cars also don't make it to the flag (including MRJ), then that does soften the blow considerably. Ilmari Pëkannen had felt like they had gotten their stuff together but after that performance, they seemed back at square one. Qualifying up in P5 did help the mood considerably, and P24 in the race was certainly an improvement and they looked to try and get themselves a Charter...but his main concern was Axel Chase, who DNFd first in T2 and had now seen their strong start to the season fall off a cliff. While HMT2 were thriving, JRT2 was AJ and that's it...and Ilmari couldn't help but feel sad. Many commiserations sent over, of course. Heading to Hapilopper for the traditional Speed Weeks (Half Mile, Berman Bros. Classic, Hap City Speedway), Ilamri will be hoping to make any sort of splash...and prove his spot at HM is well-earned.

AK
"Dark Horse", huh? How about not even qualifying for Mont-Saint-Sulpice? Not even making it into the race certainly sucked for Aurélia Karvonen but considering the chaos that followed on race day, maybe not being out there was a blessing in disguise. She would end up spending one more night with LCC before they shook hands, called it a day and moved on back to "normal". It did kinda suck, but it was fun while it lasted...and now LCC could use that experience to help ensure Tshering Gyeltshen was alright. As for Karvonen, she qualified in P7 and came home in P28 - not too bad, but she has serious work to do if she wants to make this Chase. She will be aiming for some magic in Hapilopper to keep her Chase hopes alive, simple as that.

LCC
At least Lam Chow-Cheung made it home, but P28 certainly wasn't the plan that day. Having to end the fun with Karvonen after that was certainly interesting, but it had to be done - as Tshering Gyeltshen was coming back after a disappointing SNC3 campaign as an individual. To the surprise of no one, going 1-4-5 wasn't fun at all...so LCC would spend a few days alone with Tshering - taking care of his needs, making sure he was OK and making sure he knew he was still loved. Couple that with Batu Tüvshinbayar's absence, looking for a new team to call home in WGPC, and things were certainly interesting for the groupchat trio.

As for Sankyoku, Lam had their work cut out for them in P42, but ended up on a wild ride to come home in P10 and continue their best season of all time 8th in the points. Next up will be Hapilopper, the place where they claimed that famous first win, and they will enter this land not only as one of the most popular foreign drivers, but as a race winner this season and a potential favourite for another win. That will certainly be interesting...but what they wanted to focus on was their entrance at the Half Mile. On pole last season, they couldn't come out as the Heartbreak Kid because of crowd trouble involving MRJ. This time, they were not going to be denied.
