Gonswanzan forces are still attempting to cross to Avis Island, though the helicopters arrive and attempt to hound Technate forces on the ground. Even as they were forced to retreat into caves, the possibility of simply "bombing them to ashes" remained out of the picture with the chances of a swift end to the war coming around. It was too late for Reaper Squadron to make a move.

But, with that said, the drones over the Republic once again change to try to fly to Avis Island, in hopes of supporting infantry there, perhaps even knocking a few caves once they do arrive.

In Gonswanza, Laura Ortiz is told of the possibility of a treaty in Gyzantia, to which she was almost estatic, deciding to visit the Republic herself despite being under observation post-operation. Her daughter Maria is coming with, though Darlingburg was notified ahead of time for a possible baby sitter, and if need be a playmate, to keep Maria under careful watch while Laura herself heads to the Republic to both congratulate them on their victory and later attend the signing of a treaty, if there ever is one.
Praise our glorious leader Laura Ortiz!

SB-16
17,981m above Gyzantia

Far above the warzone that was the once upon a time rapidly falling Technate of Gyzantia. Reaching the utmost limit of its operational altitude, a lone grey speck darted across the skies its top speed of mach 3.08. To accomplish this, the SB-16 was relying entirely on oxygen injection to function at such speeds at such a low atmospheric level. There was only enough oxygen stored to maintain this for no less than thirty minutes, but that was all the time they needed. Their stealth coating and altitude all but ensured their presence was nigh-undetectable by any radar not specifically positioned to search for it.

The bomb bay doors to the aircraft slid open, and an innocuous black package tumbled out of the plane, spinning violently at the sudden change in velocity it was undergoing. It fell for a minute or so before the on-board reaction wheel kicked in to counteract its tumble to something more manageable, and a few seconds later three drogue parachutes ejected from the casing and deployed to slow its fall, before cutting to let the main parachute deploy. This slowed the packages descent to a snails pace, allowing it to touch down on the open water with a small splash. Although this looked mundane, a strenuous amount of calculations had been put into launching this small black package, timing its launch, the engagement of its reaction wheels, and the deployment of both sets of parachutes had to be timed down to the millisecond to ensure that the package would land in a specific square kilometer radius.

The same square kilometer in which the Tegushi Gang mothership was located. The pirates communications would pick up a radio ping, repeating once every two seconds. which upon investigation would reveal the package which now floated aimlessly in the water. inside contained eighteen gold ingots with no identifying markers, and a laminated sheet of paper with one set of instructions.

Harass any and all Marajarbian vessels within Gyzantian territorial waters.
Further payment will follow if task is complete to a satisfying standard

The young 16-18 year old boys on the ship looked at the letter.

"Who the hell sent this?"

"Does it matter really, they're offering gold!"

The young men put on their matching black and gold jackets and prepare their boats for battle.

The Welephilotopian forces on the island would always have a smile when the Gonswanza airforce was near however now the task of capturing the island lay ahead of them, the newly formed paratrooper regiment on their way to the island would draw up plans to launch a daylight drop on the main port on the island.

The supreme commander of the WVFIG would notify the CR's government and the Gonswanan's that Welephilostopia would be in full support of a peace settlement.

In response to Gyzantia

STRATCOM-ARAGON
Camp Lorenzo San Carlos, Aragon, D.C., Royal Palmyrian Commonwealth

The Palmyrian war machine thunders on.

A voicemail, huh? thought AFP Chief of Staff John Orion Inosanto as he looked at his office telephone's notifications right at the start of the day. The voicemail was marked "IMPORTANT" and came from the Gyzantian Technate Army Command. In his line of work, written military correspondences were king, but any form of communication about important matters was still relevant, though the Supreme Commandant himself thought it odd nonetheless, him being raised on written military correspondences, WARNOs, and OPORDs.

This as he read the intelligence briefing for the day: the Gyzantian civil war halted to a ceasefire, with Anagonian troops surrendering to Sombrelandian forces in many places. Multiple news sources, including the Commonwealth News Service, corroborated the event, marking a major change in plans for Palmyrian deployment in the area. For Inosanto, it would most likely warrant a meeting with the Lakambini and the Chancellor in the General Silang Conference Room again.

A notification popped up on his office telephone's touchscreen, a group chat dialed in straight from the Lakambini herself. The Lakambini wants to speak with me, eh?
he thought as he accepted the invitation for a group chat with the Lakambini, the Chancellor, and the Vice-Chancellor of National Defence.

"Your Majesty, honoured Chancellors, magandang umaga." Inosanto began, moments after he joined the group chat. "What did you call me here for?" he added.

"Good morning, Commandant. I figure you've received news of the ceasefire?" the Vice-Chancellor of National Defence asked the Supreme Commandant, who then replied with a succinct "Yes, Vice-Chancellor."

"And this means our plans have to change drastically, yes?" the Chancellor asked, himself aware that the existence of the ceasefire means their original plan of simply breaking in through the front door and cleaning house would have to drastically change, even more so now that a Gothic power, Anagonia, was in the side of the socialists.

"Yes, Chancellor. I'm pretty sure our OPORD will have to have one major difference from the WARNO." the Supreme Commandant noted, knowing that while the WARNO and the OPORD will have one major difference they will otherwise reflect each other for the most part.

"An astute observation, Supreme Commandant." the Chancellor complimented. "Formulate the OPORD at the soonest. Is my instruction clear?" the Chancellor further said, this time ordering the Supreme Commandant to finalize the operation.

"Roger that, Chancellor. I'll be on my way out if you so allow." the Supreme Commandant replied, after which the Chancellor said "You may go now, Commandant."

Supreme Commandant Inosanto then briskly stood up for a brief salute, before departing the group chat.

Battlefleet MELIORA, 13ESG, 09ESG, 13MSR, 09MSR, T-AH-02, T-AKE-19, 978 COMARMDIV, RCMM
(henceforth "Task force Blue Phalanx" or the "task force")

1. SITUATION
a. Area of Interest. The Technate of Gyzantia has fallen into civil war after decades' worth of simmering tensions, lingering inequities, and long-running insurgencies spilling over into large-scale violence. Palmyrian economic interests and Marshite religious interests are under grave risk of eradication by the Socialist Republic of Gyzantia. Recently a ceasefire has been brokered, and peace talks are about to begin soon.
b. Area of Operations. The Technate of Gyzantia is composed mostly of flatland interspersed with forests and rivers, with cities regularly spaced across the Technate's plains.
c. Enemy Forces. While the Socialist Republic of Gyzantia and their allies are to be treated as OPFOR, armed engagement is forbidden until the ceasefire is dropped and no peace treaty has been settled.
d. Friendly Forces. In addition to Technate forces, the following forces are in support of the Technate: the Grecian People's Empire of Helakos, Kingdom of Sombreland, United States of America, The Soveinian City-State of Soveiniesberg, and the Constitutional Monarchy of Novia
e. Attachments and Detachments. Aside from the aforementioned units in the ATTN section, none.
f. Civilian Considerations. A ceasefire is currently in effect to allow for civilian evacuations. Exercise extreme caution.

2. MISSION
WHO: Battlefleet MELIORA, 13th and 9th Expeditionary Strike Groups, 13th and 9th Marine Strike Regiments, T-AH-02, T-AKE-19, 978 COMARMDIV, RCMM
WHAT: Assist the Technate in retaking the separatist Socialist Republic of Gyzantia. Provide a forward force to respond in case the ceasefire expires or is broken.
WHERE: Technate of Gyzantia
WHEN: Effective upon receipt of OPORD and until orders to withdraw.
WHY: A civil war posing a major threat to Palmyrian interests in the area.

3. EXECUTION
a. Commander's Intent: STRATCOM-ARAGON intends to place a forward response and containment force in case the ceasefire expires or is broken.
b. Concept of Operations. Battlefleet MELIORA, as the main naval component of the task force, is to secure Gyzantian friendly waters from incursions by Socialist Gyzantia and assisting OPFOR and, alongside 13ESG and 09ESG, provide naval fire support for 13MSR, 09MSR, and 978 COMARMDIV. 13MSR, 09MSR, and 978 COMARMDIV, as the ground force components of the task force, are to secure the frontlines for the duration of the ceasefire and provide forward presence and response in the event of expiration or violation of the ceasefire. PWS Esmee Inosanto (T-AH-02), as a hospital ship, is to be primarily used to provide medical care for the task force, but allied nations' units can be accommodated at the captain's discretion. PWS Gemina (T-AKE-19), as the primary cargo ship, is to haul and provide reserve supplies on top of what is carried on the assigned units' T-AOEs. Royal Commonwealth Merchant Marine vessels are to provide auxiliary logistics support for the operation.
c. Movement and Manoeuvre. MELIORA, 13ESG, 09ESG are to provide naval security and combat support for 13MSR, 09MSR, and 978 COMARMDIV
d. Coordinating Instructions. All gathered intel is to be relayed to Gyzantian and allied forces at the soonest time possible, preferably in real-time. Neutral vessels are not to be hailed other than for typical maritime navigation and communication protocols.

4. ADMIN AND LOGISTICS
a. Administration. Casualties that require medical attention other than can be reliably given by the assigned naval units (such as prolonged intensive care) are to be evacuated to Hatrap, Gyzantia. A diplomatic negotiation team courtesy of the Department of State Affairs shall be available from Palmyrion the moment peace talks ensue. All further command of OPERATION BLUE PHALANX is to be given to MGEN EMMANUEL DE CASTRO.
b. Logistics. The primary point of supply for the task force is Hatrap, Gyzantia, with T-AKE-19 and the assigned units' T-AOEs serving as forward supply runners for the task force.

Naval Station Batangan
Province of Batangas, Southern Tagalog Federal Republic
Royal Palmyrian Commonwealth

Music to pack up and do mission briefings to.

Port of departure: Naval Station Batangan. Port of arrival: Hatrap, Gyzantia. All the ships involved in the operation, ranging from the Merchant Marine auxiliary vessels as well as the supercarrier of Battlefleet MELIORA, were more than aware of where they had to go to, and that involved crossing some of the most hostile and uncharted interregional waters. Battlefleet MELIORA and Expeditionary Strike Groups 09 and 13 (alongside their full Marine Strike Regiment complement) set out first as the naval vanguard of the task force, to be followed by the 978th Combined Arms Division delivered piecemeal to the AO using Merchant Marine convoys.

The Merchant Marine shipping convoys would first be covered by fighter screens coming from the Palmyrian mainland before being officially sent off to interregional waters and beyond, each shipping convoy guarded by one Palmyrian Naval Squadron consisting of 2 destroyers, 2 frigates, 2 cruisers, and 1 helicopter destroyer, all supplied by 1 T-AOE. Once entering regional waters near the Gyzantian AO, protection of the shippign convoys would be handed over to Battlefleet MELIORA and the naval combatant components of 09ESG and 13ESG.

Arrival of Confederate Navy Battle Fleets

As the sun rose over the towards the east, a new mountain was visible across the span of the vast horizon of the ocean. It hadn't been there yesterday, nor the day before, nor any day before that. The massive mountainous silhouette was slowly moving across the horizon as its form became more visible, more clear, and more defined. At first its massive frame was that of a new landmass with sharp, rolling hills across either side and strange spiked mountains on parts of it. As it approached the shoreline of Gyzantia and the sun rose further behind it, the silhouette of the mountain became more defined. Its rolling hills were now rolling frames, clearly artificial as masts of some type were visible even at the distance to the shore. The sharp, rolling hills on either end of the silhouette became more defined and visible, revealing themselves to be humongous turrets of unspecified caliber. Just as it was halfway up and across the horizon only the where the silhouette's visible of its escort ships; a standard battleship - which seemed so small in comparison - and various other destroyers and naval craft.

The Gothica-class Super Battleship CSS Colossus had arrived. With it in formation was its own battle fleet, purely a formality for such a large and impossibly armed vessel. Behind the Naval Battle Fleet for the Colossus emerged, slowly over the horizon, the five other Naval Battle Fleets that had so patiently sailed behind it. Supercarriers, Battlecarriers, Light Carriers made an appearance one by one along with battleships, frigates, destroyers, and various auxiliary naval ships. Under the ocean and very well hidden were the submarine escorts to each unique battle fleet.

As time moved on and the sun rose further in the horizon, all six battle fleets were clearly visible across the horizon, spanning almost the entirety of it visible to the shore of Gyzantia. It was an intentional display, with the Super Battleship Colossus intentionally placed at the fore and lead for dramatic effect. The intention was to show those watching, both through visual means and sensory equipment, the commitment the Confederate States had when it came to ensuring peace - by any means necessary. While the desired intention of that peace had evolved over the last few days to working with other parties, the will to enforce it had not. There would be peace in Gyzantia and these six battle fleets would ensure that peace would either be established diplomatically, to bolster the authority of the Anagonian position, or back up the Anagonian forces already present in Gyzantia as they all unleashed armageddon on those that opposed the will of that peace.

The Colossus, undoubtedly the largest naval going vessel every to grace the waters of Gyzantia to that point, was there to display that will and commitment for that peace. Super Battleships in the Confederate Navy were strictly reserved to protect home waters from other Gothic threats, as the other Gothic Powers had much larger and more powerful Super Battleships of their own. For the Confederate Navy to even allow one of these vital protective assets from its home waters displayed the absolute resolve of the Confederate Military to see this through. There was no question - Anagonia would have peace. By any means necessary.

The Colossus, however, also carried a wild card on board. Something that might avoid any necessity for further bloodshed. Something that would ensure, hopefully, that "any means necessary" stayed well within acceptable diplomatic norms.

Slowly one by one each Naval Battle Fleet, headed by capital ships designated to be command ships of their fleets, branched off to begin heading towards various sectors across the coastal waters of Gyzantia. Two of the battle fleets - Elliot Armstrong and Poseidon - would head northward to support Naval Peacekeeping Force Mythica, thereabouts patrolling near the cities of Port Nithu and Hatrap. Two of the battle fleets - Colossus and Forest Holloway - would move in to support Naval Task Force Exeter as it patrolled near city of Lousani. The last two battle fleets - Travis Johnathan and Laurel Alexander - would assist Naval Peacekeeping Force Anagonia as it patrolled near the city of Kurthia and near the Principality of Stradia. As the sun waned in the sky on the 10th of October, all battle fleets were well within position as all assets had been accounted for and arranged.

President Mileethus Canisilus; Commander-in-Chief Visitation

President Canisilus finished talking with Master Sergeant Maximian as the two parted ways. The situation on the ground had been explained to him as rather tense and critical. Secundus wanted desperately his permission to conduct a raid on Sikklosa. Mileethus had politely informed his Ground Commander that such a raid would jeopardize the already tense situation in the region. He had another plan, one probably as risky and provockative, but if successful it would reinforce the diplomatic position of the Confederacy in this region. That and his Marines, his warriors, lives were on the line. He had already paid a brief visit to Commodore Crawford, shook her hand and told her thanks for her efforts. She was already going through so much to ensure the stability of this TOA. It was fitting, therefore, that her Commander-in-Chief would do the same.

The protests from the Military Police had been absolutely insane. The President, however, wasn't about to play the game of the dog who rolled over on their belly and submitted. That was not only inappropriate for a global power such as Anagonia to do, but it would also spell disaster for future negotiations. Despite the vehement protests of his Military Policemen assigned to his protection, he would not wear body armor of any kind in the warzone. In fact, he was depending on it to be a demonstration of his diplomatic capability.

An hour later and the President was boarding V-30 with a contingent of Military Police who had arrived as his escort. He would receive a heavy aerial escort en route to Sikklosa.

Dear Commodore,

We are nearly ready to return your Marines to you. I have been told that they are very gallant, brave, and worthy persons. My Royal Marines have shared food and drink with them, and no doubt many of the jokes and exchanges that persons of military caste enjoy sharing. However, there is a problem that has cropped up.

As you have pointed out, the Janpian occupants of Port Nithu are not under your command. And you have left it up to them whether or not they will follow your instructions. I am also aware that your forces are, by your government policy, helping the socialists. What I would like to ask is that you agree to support my overtures towards them to persuade them to honour the cease fire. Their forces can remain in place, without withdrawing provided that they attempt no hostile action against Technate forces or those forces that have come to support the Technate. We, in turn, will honour the cease fire and not attack them.

If they, and the socialist forces in Port Nithu do attempt a breakout and try to attack the Technate forces and ours, I would like your word that you will see that as a particular breach of the cease fire and not a general breach, and will not interfere if we defend ourselves and defeat any attack against us.

Gyzantian Theater of Operations
Situational Update

Thanks to the arrival of the six additional battle fleets, the aerial enforcement of a no-fly zone was magnified by force count. The minimal flights of F/A18C Hornets from the Exeter had been reinforced with additional flights of all variants of the F-18 Hornet, and bolstered by the arrival of flights of the F-21B Drekafighter as it joined formations of police patrols to enforce no-fly zones. All across Gyzantia, Anagonian fighter aircraft of various types joined together in wings of three to five to patrol specific sectors. No military flights were allowed without identification. When those flights identified themselves as medical or humanitarian, they were permitted travel unmolested by Anagonian intervention or investigation. The Confederate Navy did not play around nor seek to harass forces conducting aid operations, and wouldn't, just as a matter of principle.

Those forces that didn't, however, were either forced to land or shot down. Only twelve incidents happened thus far where Anagonians had shot down aircraft refusing to identify at all. It was found out later that these aircraft belonged to notorious and violent gangs within Gyzantia that had taken up arms since the start of the civil war and only recently gained some manner of teeth to their gambits. It became standard operational procedure for the patrols to spot the identifiers of the aircraft and shoot them down without question. Anagonians worked with local Gyzantian authorities as well to identify gang hotzones, intensifying patrols in those areas to harass and counter the rising violence and threat posed by the gangs. Attack helicopters were used to assist Gyzantian Police Forces, regardless of their faction origin, in their attempts to raid or strike at gang hideouts. Military Police from the recent Naval Battle Fleets contributed as well, enforcing policing actions and assisting Gyzantian Civil Protection Units as they sought to eliminate the rising gang threat.

Humanitarian actions intensified ten-fold all across the nation. With three Compassion-class Hospital Ships present in the Gyzantian Theater of Operations (the Grace, Compassion, and Mercy), Anagonian medical flights were constant and around the clock. Civilians were now getting aid when requested within minutes instead of hours. Humanitarian flights to all cities within Gyzantia were present and active, with constant transport flights to the most hard-hit cities with military protection and escort. Cities not too hard hit were still provided one or two transport rotary aircraft to maintain some supply line to them, providing additional medical use by making sure at least one medical flight checked in every day. With each city visited, the Anagonians gave the officials there a communication radio tuned to the Humanitarian Forces frequency. It would trigger an alert when activated notifying the coordination staff at FHB Acur Alpha that a specific city needed assistance; either medical or supply or both. Within minutes, a flight of usually two helicopters or tilt-rotary aircraft would be dispatched to assist.

The logistical supply lines for the humanitarian efforts had become so fine-tuned that supplies were no longer being "lost" to effort. Usually, humanitarian forces lost supplies in the thousands because they couldn't account for all of them. Thanks to the efforts of Master Sergeand Secundus and the Anagonian Marines, however, a more streamlined system of scanning pallets and supplies had been initiated to keep track of distributed supplies. Once a pallet of supplies - whether medical or humanitarian - was loaded on a transport, it was cataloged in the system as dispatched and accounted for. When the distribution began, all the load masters had to do was scan the bar code of the individual boxes with their PDA's and it would automatically be updated in the system that the unique asset had been distributed successfully. There was still cases of missing supplies, but it was so far infinitesimal that it was effectively irrelevant.

In the skies above Gyzantia, bombers and escort aircraft could visibly be seen at high altitudes, especially during the day. Normally the B-2 Spirits of any nation preferred the camouflage of the night when conducting operations. Not so for recent operations, with armed and ready B-2 Spirits from the expected reinforcement forces making constant patrols across all corners of Gyzantia with escort fighter craft in tow. They made sure to be a visible reminder of the enforcement protocol put in place by Anagonia, and a present and direct threat to violators. Only twice had a specific B-2 been called to attack. Both instances had been when a Military Police unit, attacked to a Gyzantian Police Raid, had encountered entrenched gang forces. Both times bunker bombs had been dropped and the gang hideouts effectively eliminated, the gang threat ended then and there. Mostly, however, save for the specific instances of assisting Military Police and Gyzantian Police, the B-2's acted as deterrent.

There was an increasingly growing sight of flight formations consisting of either B-1B Lancers and escorts or B-52H Stratofortresses and escorts in the sky. As the time for the enforcement to cease military operations drew close, more and more flights of these bombers were seen across Gyzantian skies. Thanks to the additional runways constructed by the Socialist Republic for Anagonia, they were quite capable of landing and refueling and rearming. The three E-3C Sentry's sent to the Gyzantian Theater of Operations were also visible at times, escorted by fighter aircraft as they did round-the-clock patrols to give both Anagonian, Allied, and Humanitarian forces up to date information on flight paths and threats.

Thanks to the additional ground units supplied by the arriving Battle Fleets, ground patrols of humanitarian units were sent out from Acur Alpha on a regular basis. The new Forward Humanitarian Base constructed in the city of Hortread - codenamed Hortread Alpha - had been completed and was providing regular assistance to these patrols as more were sent out. The additional FHB in Hortread provided more staging space for both humanitarian and medical supplies as well, allowing for faster distribution across the entirety of Gyzantia.

The Anagonians were staying true to their commitment to being Humanitarian Providers. It was clearly visible with the level of logistics and assets involved that the majority of Confederate Military Operations was committed to humanitarian operations.

This is Commodore Crawford of the Confederate States Navy,

This is a flash message. I have gathered further information.

We are continuing humanitarian operations. Your forces are welcomed to maintain humanitarian operations. We are enforcing a full military exclusion zone for all military operations later on in the day of the 11th of October (today, as of this message). We will additionally help coordinate any efforts of humanitarian or medical aid your forces require assistance to distribute.

As stated in my previous correspondence, the President has informed me he wants you to lead the peace negotiations. If you fail to arrive, he will be forced to lead them. Time is of the importance as he wants to conclude the Gyzantian affair as quickly as possible, as effectively as possible, and as fairly as possible.

Sincerely,

V-30 Phantom Papa Tango Alpha; Landing near Sikklosa
President Mileethus Canisilus; Commander-in-Chief on Scene

Four RAH-66A Comanche Stealth Attack Helicoptes, brought in with the reinforcement Battle Fleets, were swift to follow close to the V-30 Phantom making a closing approach on the outskirts of the Royal Marine base near Sikklosa that housed the Confederate Marines. The V-30 was additionally escorted by a flight of three F-21B Drekafighters sent from one of the Light Carriers offshore. The Drekafighters were careful, lazily maneuvering in a non-threatening fashion as they maintained a wide patrolling circle around the V-30 as it began to land. The RAH-66's, in contrast, were extremely aggressive, flying low as they circled back and around in quick arcs. Whatever was on board the V-30 was extremely valuable.

The hour had passed since Master Sergeant Maximian had sent the direct warning of their arrival and the threat of reprocussions should any violence be used to deter such arrival. He hadn't explained why. Only by the request of Mileethus had he managed to ask the Master Sergeant to convey the arrival in a direct but non-revealing fashion. He wanted to surprise his Confederate Marines now held prisoner there. The moment the rear hatch of the V-30 opened, an emergency flash was sent out.

Offshore, the Naval Battle Fleets closest to the Kingdom fleets were shadowing them - though not too aggressively. It would be made apparent they were there and if any communication from the Sombreland Navy was dispatched, the Confederate Navy would simply reply that they were "politely enforcing" the military exclusion zone. What they didn't say was that they were preparing to attack at a moments notice. Battle Fleets closest to shore had already locked in their cruise missiles and naval gun batteries, the CSS Colossus herself already beginning to turn her massive turrets towards the shore in preparation for the Royal Marines attacking its Commander-in-Chief. In the air, bomber patrols "casually" began to form around the base near Sikklosa. To rescue the President should worse happen, a ground force was nearby of military transports, ready to be dispatched at a moments notice.

Near the President as he stepped foot off the V-30, the four RAH-66's began to disperse gingerly and evenly, with one RAH-66 tailing the tall Komodren from a good distance so as to not dislodge so much dust onto their Command-in-Chief. Beside and behind the President emerged twenty Military Policemen, fully armed and surrounding the Komodren dressed only in a two-piece professional business suit. The non-human began to walk towards the perimeter of the Royal Marine "base" that had been set up. Once he was a comfortable distance from the guards stationed at the visible entrance, he stopped. He extended a clawed hand upward, waving.

"Hello there from Anagonia!" he greeted, "I'd like my Marines back now, if you'd please."

Galador, Sombreland

The Minister of the Left, who was also Minister of Death, Prince Shaladew Kadav, was almost reclining in his chair, yawning from time to time, and sighing as though all he wanted to do was go to bed. Fortunately, the Director of Foreign Affairs and Grand Admiral Teroth were making the actual reports on the situation regarding the war in Gyzantia. Grand Admiral Teroth read the reports grandly, as befitted an officer presenting a report to the Royal Court and its ministers of state. The Director of Foreign Affairs read his drily, as befitted a clerk of the aristocratic class.

However, neither was happy to read the letters from Commodore Crawford. There were shudders of dismay and gasps of horror as the familiar tone and demanding posture of the Anagonians was presented.

"How can this be? Surely this means a general war!" cried the Minister of the Right, who had never approved of the expedition to begin with.

"How could someone so address the Princess-Regent?" exclaimed the Minister of Divinity.

They looked to the Princess-Regent, who was gasping, a delicate hand at her throat, and tears falling from luminous beautiful eyes.

"If I might explain..." offered the Director of Foreign Affairs humbly. "It is, from the point of view of the Anagonians, a purposeful, courteous and well meant letter."

There were gasps at this. How could this be? But the Princess-Regent leaned forward as Lady-Countess Carnelian helped her by dabbing at her lovely cheeks. "Please explain..."

"Majestic Highness," said the Foreign Affairs Director, "The Anagonians think they are polite people. They are not, but they think they are. They do not have courtesy, they have....professionalism. This means that when they take someone seriously, they speak in a direct and brusque manner as though they were...comrades in arms. It is a difficult concept to explain. Sometimes they find our courtesy confusing, full of implications. Sly. I do not mean that it is, Majestic Highness, but that they find it so. Our diplomats have had the greatest difficulty speaking with them, and have had to give up all normal courtesy to make things plain."

"Do you mean to say," the Chancellor said, "That they expect direct words that cannot be mistaken? How do they not see it as demanding and autocratic?"

The Director of Foreign Affairs shrugged helplessly.

"The other matter at hand, though," said the Minister of Divinity, "Is this...request...that the Princess-Regent goes to Gyzantia. It is unthinkable."

"It is not, with all due respect," said the Minister of the Left. "Merely impractical and insulting."

"I fear, Majestic Highness, that if you do not go, peace may not be attainable." said the Director of Foreign Affairs.

"Admiral, will our armed forces there be able to protect Her Majestic Highness? And will these Anagonians?" asked the Chancellor.

"I will go," said the Princess-Regent, not waiting for a response.

Everyone was silent, several faces went pale.

"I think that if we cannot trust the Anagonians, this will demonstrate it, and someone more suited than I to rule this country will be in my place. But if not, I will show the people that i share their dangers along with the glory. I will have helped to protect the lives of thousands of our military caste along with millions of Gyzantians. I am not delighted to go, but I feel that it is my duty to go. And I will take wise advisors with me. Prince Shaladew, Admiral Teroth, and Director, will you go with me?"

The Grand Admiral immediately bowed deeply, and so did the Director. Prince Shaladew, the Minister of the Left, put his hands over his heart before he bowed, unable to speak. Lady-Countess Carnelian burst into tears and put her forehead to the floor.

"Majestic Highness, your own words, however, are, with the greatest worshipful respect, not quite true. You have done this. You have brought about peace terms. Your Majestic Highness is the one who saw the opportunity in what the Anagonians were doing, and acted upon it. You had the vision to see it through. More than Your Majestic Highness' title...you have seen what was true in this, and acted upon it. Not merely for duty, but for love of Your Majestic Highness' benevolent rule...I will follow you." said Prince Shaladew.

Dear Commodore,

Your Marines will be returned in a formal ceremony when your President arrives. Our Royal Marines will, naturally, have to treat him with the respect due to your head of state. After that, they will be transferred to your military expedition's care.

I was surprised to hear that your President had already arrived, so I was not at all ready to travel to Gyzantia when I received this message. When proper ceremony and omens have been taken, I will go to Gyzantia, meet with your President, and work out the details. I will be going by executive airplane, then, once in Hatrap, meeting your President when traveling by a large cargo helicopter.

Sincerely,
Princess-Regent Alavaine de Cressa

Sikklosa

When the President of Anagonia arrived, two rows of Royal Marines immediately snapped to attention, as the Battalion Sergeant-Major thundered, "Present--arms!" boots stamped down, and rifles were stiffly presented, bayonets softly gleaming.

Prince Jusus stepped forward, and formally saluted, with members of his staff standing nearby. He was dwarfed by the strange lizard creature, but he had been warned and so his expression was grand and stiff. "Your Excellency, Welcome to Sikklosa. I am Prince Jusus, Major-General commanding our Royal Marine Division. Your Marines await you. We are sorry to part with them...if only because they have been excellent company. But their duty lies elsewhere. Words cannot express the honour you have done to us."

The Royal Marines also presented the cases with the Marines' weapons and armour in them, all accounted for, but no resentment showed if the Anagonians wanted to check.

The Royal Sombreland Navy continued to hold its positions over Hatrap and Sikklosa. Information was very carefully exchanged with the Anagonian peacekeepers operating in the area. For example, Combat Air Patrol was maintained over the Sombreland carrier fleet, but no farther, and over the Royal Marine division, but no farther. It was made very clear that food and medical supplies would continue to be flown into Hatrap and distributed to civilian authorities there. Convoys, protected by the Royal Marines, would also take supplies from the drop zones to Sikklosa.

Many of the peacekeepers on board the ship, including some of the aid, would not survive the onslaught. The remaining peacekeepers, around 3,500, would immediately make their way to nearby small lifeboats, each with extremely powerful engines capable of moving as fast as Niranian ships. Using this, and taking as much aid as they could, the peacekeepers would try to escape from the hostile groups.

The Marajarbian Government, hearing the news of the reinforcements not arriving, begins to consider some big options, including but not limited to, a full withdrawal, full on military intervention, or taking some form of revenge on the diplomatic side of things. Of course, via a unanimous vote, the government would pick the easiest option, diplomatic revenge, by taking even more advantage of the ongoing ceasefire, calling on the Anagonians to try to patrol Gyzantian waters and keep ships as safe as possible so that they may reach their destination as quickly as possible, or for an Anagonian ship to transport the reinforcements and aid instead, as Marajarbia knows that no one nation in their right mind would attempt to attack an Anagonian.

Of course, diplomatic revenge would mean some harsh terms in whatever treaty is made, now that the war is coming to a close. Harsh terms, especially those who have committed atrocities still fresh in the minds of many Marajarbians, such as the Countesians using scapegoats to escape the blame for the assassination of a Marajarbian diplomat in Aursian soil. While the Janpians did end up destroying another Marajarbian peacekeeping ship, the Marajarbian Government had felt as if the Janpians were no longer of any serious concern, for the Janpians had already ruined their international standing and were reportedly just starting to be seen as weak by many in the international community.

The four RAH-66 Comanche's began to part from their formation, with two casually leaning and veering off to begin a wide-arc patrol. The remaining two stationed themselves in a hover besides the temporarily-Presidential V-30. Offshore, the Confederate Navy began to "stand-down" from their aggressive postures - including the Super Battleship, which slowly began to turn its turrets back into holding position. The fleets "chasing" the Sombreland Navy ships began to back off slowly as well, resuming a more casual approach and patrol pattern. In the skies, the bomber formations began to disperse slowly back to their routine patrol routes. A few Military Policemen were first to approach the Royal Marines handing over the bags of belongings, followed by MP Medics as they sought to individually assess the condition of each Confederate Marine returned.

There was a few moments of the President observing this happen, his eyes keen as he examined his Marines. Seeing nothing wrong, and with a Medic giving a brief thumbs up his way, he gave a nod and turned his attention to the Prince.

"Your Highness, Prince Jusus, I am honored to greet you," the Komodren said as he offered a courteous bow - though not too deep, as he was a leader himself. "I am President Mileethus Canisilus, 17th in the line of elected Presidents of my nation. I am pleased we have come to terms with my request to have my Marines returned to me. No doubt your Excellency has tended well to them, by the signals my Medics are giving to me."

The Confederate Marines began to individually head toward the V-30. Since the bags had been so carefully marked with the equipment, the Military Police simply handed the appropriate bag to the appropriate Marine as they passed the makeshift checkpoint with the Medics stationed. The President approached closer to the Prince, only two MP's behind him since the situation seemed under control. He gave a nod to the Royal Marines on either side standing at attention before gazing down at the Prince.

"Your Excellency, I believe you have some fine and honorable Marines of your own," Mileethus stated, giving a nod. "Perhaps you and I should meet sometime, over drinks or more casual settings befitting of a relaxing atmosphere. I will be returning to our base in Acur for humanitarian operations. You are welcome to visit. Alas, I cannot stay longer than this. I came for my Marines, those under my command, knowing in my mind if anything had happened to them or was to, I would not be fitting of my position. Now that they are safe and you have shown your true honor, I know we can be friends. I look forward to greeting you on a more personable level."

With that, and without waiting for a reply, the Komodren gave a firm nod and turned around. His tail slid across the sandy dirt as he began to head back to the V-30. His MP's and the remainder of the Marines in tow, he boarded. A few minutes later and every Anagonian was on board. The V-30 whirled up its tilt-rotary engines, dust flying as it began to lift off. The Comanche's were quick to form up as the Phantom turned and tilted towards the direction of Acur, its engines tilting to flight mode shortly after it sped off. The three F-21B's came trailing behind, leaving the scene in a casually slow manner as they guarded the rear.

Commodore Leanna Crawford almost spat out her coffee when the Yeoman gave her the report. Pirates had, inexplicably, decimated a Marajarbian Humanitarian Convoy. Why in the hell was everyone attacking them?! She sighed dejectedly, wanting to throw herself off her ship to escape this political hell. She politely thanked the Yeoman before returning to her desk. Sending out a few orders to her fleet, she grumbled as she gave a general reply to all humanitarian assets. The Master Sergeant would just have to work with her on this.

She swore she wouldn't ever babysit such a situation ever again.

This is Commodore Crawford of the Confederate States Navy,

Due to the rise in pirate activity attacking Non-Anagonian assets, I am now ordering that all nations contributing aid by sea to either utilize air transportation a safe distance from Gyzantian Shorelines or coordinate distribution of their humanitarian supplies with Confederate Navy auxiliary ships. We will then act as third-party distributors and transport your supplies to the shore for direct distribution. We are working to handle this growing pirate threat, however they seem to be popping up faster than we can tangle them. In the interim please follow our instructions for sea-based humanitarian vessels.

All air-based humanitarian transports will still be allowed to transport freely. Land-based assets are advised to stay on Anagonian-patrolled or Gyzantian patrolled routes.

During the attack of the of the Marajarbian ship the hacked Aurellean MK1 negotiator android mercilessly shot many of the crewmates on the enemy ship. The android was dirty and not wearing the standard uniform but rather a Tegushi jacket and makeshift armor. It stared at the lifeless crewmates with its cold blue eyes as it left back to the Tegushi ship.

Over the past weeks the Tegushi gang has grown immensely. Many more youth have been indoctrinated into the gang from all over the world. Gyzantia, Japan, Niran, Aurelleon, and the Cheltonian republic are places where the Tegushi gang are recruiting every day. More boats are being produced and stolen by the gang to fight on the seas and powerful Niranian war horses for land travel are being prepared to be delivered to Gyzantia. The Tegushi gang is going all in.

Extra info, Niranian war horses: The fastest creature in Niran is the Niranian war horse, a creature native to the extreme storm environments of Niran. These horses are as fast or even faster than a cheeta which makes them such an effective means of transportation they are still used in the modern day alongside cars. To add to their already impressive speed the Niranian war horse is one of the smartest animals in Niran making them easier to train and control. Niranian war horses dawn from the storm village territory of Niran which is rocky and muddy land in a constant thunderstorm, this makes them useful on all sorts of terrain. These horses cannot be mounted with regular horse equipment and must be used with special equipment that helps the rider not fall off and control the stallion better.

Darlingtown Expeditionary Company A
Forward Humanitarian Base Acur Alpha

The journey to the Forward Humanitarian Base took, as was now par for the course, longer than anticipated. As news began to break of bandits roving the countryside and pirates attacking humanitarian ships, ALECTO opted for a slow and cautious advance towards the base. The number of H12 units dedicated to the front recon team was doubled, and the perimeter around the convoy kept extra vigilant. But, at long last, Expeditionary Company A made it to Base Acur Alpha.

Immediately the automatons got to work unloading the trucks, delivering hundreds of tons of much needed food, medicine, fuel, clothing, and other such items to the collective humanitarian stores. As a majority of the machines were engaged with the logistics of offloading supplies, a few got to work seeking out Master Sergeant Secundus Maximian to report in and officially meet with the Commanding Officer of the Anagonian Ground Forces in Gyzantia.

As this was going on, SACHI crafted and submitted a letter to both the Confederate States of Anagonia and the Kingdom of Sombreland:

TO: The Confederate States of Anagonia, and Princess-Regent Alavaine de Cressa
FROM: SACHI, Administrator of Darlingtown
SUBJECT: Offer to Moderate and Aid in Upcoming Discussions

Greetings! I do not think I've had the pleasure of contacting either of your nations quite so...directly before now. I am SACHI, the Administrator of the Antarctic city-state of Darlingtown. I've been made aware of the difficulties negotiations between your two nations have faced recently. Though we are all grateful that Anagonia and Sombreland are led by moral and reasonable people, if there is anything Darlingtown could do to smooth out such troubles in the near future we are willing to put forth the effort.

Which brings me to why I am contacting you now. As an Artificial Intelligence who was designed for positive social interaction, I believe I may be uniquely equipped to help moderate and act as a mediator in the upcoming discussions between your two nations. It would, as I am aware, help to "bridge the gap" between your diverse and intricate cultures so that we may avoid unintended miscommunications or other such troubles.

If you do not wish for us to attend, I shall respect such wishes. I have no desire to intrude where I am not welcomed. I simply seek the same ends you do: A peaceful and diplomatic end to hostilities in Gyzantia. And again, wherever I can help to achieve this goal I shall.

Most Sincerely,
SACHI

When the Royal Executive plane left Sombreland, it had been a very big event. First, officials from every part of the Ministry of the Right had gone over, with great care, the precedent of a ruler of Sombreland actually leaving the country. The Minister of the Right, who despised the Minister of the Left, was very annoyed by his blithe remarks in council. First, it had to be determined if, according to all right and precedent, it was even possible for the blessed feet of the sacred monarch to even step into the sea at the borders of part of the country, let alone fly over it. Second, it had to be determined whether this would be a good or bad omen for the dynasty, for the kingdom, the regent's person. What could the Regent eat, wear, or sit on if she left the country? This was why the Minister of the Right despised the Minister of the Left; he never thought of these things.

Following this, the omens still had to be taken. It was found that a white goat with no spots on it had bleated when a flock of birds flew overhead while the Release of the Doves was to occur, and that a butterfly had landed on the Regent's dress, and that no other butterfly had so much as fluttered near a gardener's hat since the last Festival of the Butterflies. The Princess-Regent, blindfolded, had performed the Rite of the Inner Candles and it had gone perfectly, so much so that the Director of Divinity had declared he could at last die happy. This was fortunate too; he was 107.

it was discovered that a Thonist had desecrated the Royal Executive plane, and it had to be destroyed. While it burned, another was chosen. It was not yet found that all Thonists were traitors; many spoke up for them, but there were extremists, and several of those had been found guilty and were hung upside down until they died.

So it was a true miracle when the Royal Executive plane took off. The Chancellor would govern the country in the Regent's name while she was away. No policy changes could be made, of course. That was written as though in stone.

Princess-Regent Alavaine was shocked to her very bones. She found that she enjoyed flying; it was startling, amazing and wonderful. She looked out her window, her lovely face alight with joy, so much so that others watching envied the window, for being so close to her. Her Captain of the Guard, looking at her with longing, was begged by the under-chamberlain attending not to look at her. Lady-Countess Carnelian sat, content to merely hold her monarch's hand and now and then press it to her soft cheek; the Minister of the Left wrote a poem about how beautiful the Princess-Regent looked sitting so looking out at the night sky, and the Grand Admiral felt he would burst with pride that this was the monarch-in-waiting he had sworn to die for. All were happy.

When they got a strange message forwarded to them which was presented by the dry little clerklike man who was the Director of Foreign Affairs, they had all found that they were losing their sense of surprise at the oddities. This time, it was a message not merely by a computer, but from one.

To:SACHI, Administrator of Darlingtown; Commodore Leanna Crawford; Commanding Officer, Naval Peacekeeping Force Mythica; Confederate States Navy; Confederate States of Anagonia
From: Princess-Regent Alavaine de Cressa, Regent of Sombreland
Subject: Peace talks
Encryption: Most Secret

To all concerned,

I would like SACHI, Administrator of Darlingtown, to be there for the first meeting to discuss the peace.

I would like all involved to declare their interest in peace talks. The cease fire is just the first step, just the step that makes peace talks possible. For the first subject of conversation, I think that we need to make a recommendation to the disputing forces of Gyzantia, that is:
The Technate (and King Issa)
The socalists
The Republicans

so that they are satisfied to live and work with one another and agree to work out any disagreements through politics, not war. I am sure that each of our delegations can find something to contribute that will help us all come up with a peaceful solution.

When the Gyzantians are present, I recommend persuading each party first of a peace plan we all agree to, and then meeting with them all together, so that they see how united we are and how we want the best interest of each party represented. But this is a subject, perhaps, for when we meet.

Sincerely,
Princess-Regent Alavaine de Cressa

The Princess-Regent flew for a while, but after a bit she went to her stateroom, yawning so sweetly that her ladies in waiting almost forgot to properly dress her for bed, and after being put in her nightgown and nightcap, was tucked into bed with a sweet posy of flowers on her pillow, and the soft songs of classical lullabies playing, and slept for the duration of the journey, resting her beautiful cheek against a silken pillow.

Ruining the reputation of androids

Most Sincerely,
SACHI
Administrator of Darlingtown

A major part of how the Tegushi gang mobilized and fought so effectively was because they had control over a hacked MK1 Aurellean negotiator android. The android was an ai who had the ability to negotiate and find the most effective way to achieve a mission, the android was also a brilliant fighter with a body built to last and extensive combat knowledge. This ai had claimed the lives of many humanitarian sailor for the sake of the gang tarnishing the name of artificial intelligence.

As Maria arrives at [classified location]... Laura Ortiz arrives in Dessin, ready for the talks. Wherever they were being held... That is. But she was ready, up and adam as well, in her finest dress, a military gala uniform, with her sword by her side, pistol in its holster, hat upon her head. The ribbons and medals that decorated her chest were many, some depicting eagles, or a bolt of thunder, a cross... Various icons that had various meanings. Yet, she was informed at the airport, after stepping off the long-range aircraft, that the meeting was to be held...

... Somewhere else.

Until she gets the message, however, the aircraft's grounded. But it would be a short flight by then, so long as it was within the Technate. Still, it would be annoying for Ortiz, who now has to wait this out in her flying bunker of an aircraft, retiring to a couch to watch a Gonswanzan game of football against a Mexican team, with the Gonswanzan Jewel Spiders winning 1-0 in the first quarter of the game. Yes, soccer, for the uncultured.

Speaking of that, the Gonswanzan operations are put on hold, with men forced to wait in their landing craft, helicopters pulled back to the carrier to land, taking up precious deck space before they were transferred to destroyers, the aircraft landing in and other helis forced to land wherever they could. But then there was an idea to ferry them to Colstrea, which was to be done quickly, as transports are recalled to try to assist in this big move, as infantry in their landing craft are soon forced to disembark and head back into Colstrea to rest.

Drones are soon flying out of the area, to respect the ceasefire, though they are rather slow... Unlike the blackbirds who refused to follow the order, being instructed by GoSA to continue their flights regardless.

CIC JRS Dabun Javosch

"Damn it! We are just THIS close!"

The Commodore Skoronschu howled over the bridge, as a letter and order from the Anagonians arrived.

Commodore Skoronschu"We MUST resume operations! Port Nithu is just a day away from being under Revolutionary control!"

The officers just watched, as the Commodore makes his rants, even now proposing to continue the advance and stop any forces from any possible attacks, whether it came from Anagonian or Somberland forces. He went straight to the Carrier's communication panels, grabbed the microphone from the officer in charge, and set the coms to expeditionary-wide.

Commodore Skoronschu"Comrades! Continue the advance! However, stay on alert for any hostile ships be it from the KTO! Note the last bearing, and expand AWA-"

A voice then butted into the room, with tones of discipline and authority, loudly ordering the Commodore.

"This is NOT how you play a war game, commodore"

Of course, Commodore Skoronschu immediately stopped his communications, holding his order from the Revolutionary Forces.

Commodore Skoronschu"Just who do you think you are to speak against the Commo-"

As Commodore Skoronschu looks back to face the voice, he soon comes in face-to-face with a Grand Admiral Class 3 Astrakava Sayuko. His rank is identifiable thanks to the unique naval hat that only the Grand Admiral uses. The Commodore watches in horror, as he mindlessly dropped the coms from his hands

Grand Admiral CII Astrakava:"I have reports that you acted brashly, unprofessionally, and undisciplined. From what I can see here, the reports are indeed true... Isn't it unfortunate that I arrived at the wrong time for you? Didn't the naval air commander notify you about my arrival?"

The Grand Admiral rested for a bit and slowly removed his gloves

Grand Admiral CII Astrakava:"While my ranks ain't really comparable to the 1st Class Grand Admirals, I must say, this actions of yours Commodore- is not professional no?"

Commodore Skoronschu"Wa-wait Admiral. I-I believe this must be a m-misunder-"

Grand Admiral CII Astrakava:"Effective immediately, Revolutionary Commodore Class I Skoronschu Worsa has been demoted to Class III and will be removed from command at this expeditionary fleet. I myself will assume control. Now get this man off my bridge!"

2 sailors immediately grabbed the demoted Commodore and dragged him away. The Commodore's pleas slowly disappeared as he was sent away from the bridge. With the bridge cleared from him, the Grand Admiral then went on to the coms panel which is still open to the Revolutionary Forces. He grabs it, while the communications officer is looking at him

Grand Admiral CII Astrakava:"This is the Astrakava Sayuko. Grand Admiral 2nd Class of the 3rd Sichanashi Fleet. Cease all air operations including the AWACS and Hisshins. Ground operations must also stop and be put on hold. We are repealing the naval directive no? However, prepared to pull up defenses"

Communications Officer:"But Admiral, why are we stopping the operations?"

The Grand Admiral then looked at the officer and smilingly answered

Grand Admiral CII Astrakava:"Politics got a hold of shogi no?"

At the end of the radio, a voices answered back affirmatively, as AWACS and all operations were halted to honor the cease fire.

The Grand Admiral then returns the coms to the officer, as he pulls up with a small grin. Looking on, he began to give orders to the fleet

Grand Admiral CII Astrakava:"Navigation Officer! Head for the relative bearing of 14 degrees and maintain at 20 knots in order for the Corvettes to catch up. Naval air command! Prepare the flight decks and adjust the operations. I believe that I also forgot to order the Destroyers to maintain close formation no?"

Long live the Janpian Union of Revolutionary States!

October 11th, 106 AUR
Operation Red Phantom; End of Mission; Returning Home
1130 Hours Anagonian Standard Time
V-30 Phantom Papa Tango Alpha; Returning to FHB Acur Alpha under escort
Sergeant Damian Walker; Dragon Fire Company Commander

The ride home was surreal.

The Royal Marines of Sombreland had been kind hosts. Near the end of their "stay" with the Royal Marines, they had gone out of their way to provide the Confederate Marines with more than adequate housings by providing an actual, structurally sound military tent. It had been...comfortable. It still felt wrong, felt impossibly wrong to the Sergeant and those under his command. When they were being processed back through the Military Police Medics, Sergeant Walker couldn't help but feel an undying sense of relief. It felt horribly wrong where he had been, despite the comforts provided. He never would tell his men how close to a breakdown he was. Perhaps they, themselves, were close as well. It was something different to be an actual guest in someone elses house, to be provided and tended to, and to be shown courtesy beyond expectation. It was completely different to be prisoners and shown equal courtesy, drawing expectations of worsening treatment as days went on.

Despite it all, the Royal Marines had been...well...they had been Marines.

Conversations between his Marines and the Royals had gone as expected. Lots of cursing, lots of joking, and lots of socializing. It was scary just how informal the conversations had become in such little time. The only thing that kept the Sergeant grounded in reality were the constant FLASH updates on his PDA. His Lance Corporal had received the general FLASH notifications as well. By the end of things, they all had received the general FLASH of the arrival of the "diplomat". The Sergeant had been blessed to see the command FLASH of the arrival of "Arctic Cobra", the Military's codename for the President - each President and First Partner had one. He knew then the level of commitment his country had in their return. He spread the good news and by the arrival of the V-30 Phantom carrying the President, all the Confederates were excited with the expectation of going home. It was so good when it did happen, when they were boarding the V-30, when the President joined them.

"How was it, son?" asked a voice beside him.

The Sergeant found his wits again from his mild episode of PTSD. He had talked with one of the Medics about it already. They had assured him it was completely normal for a person trapped in a situation like that to develop new anxieties. The Medic, identifying themselves as Senior Trooper Alejandro, was an actual clinical psychiatrist for his day job - most of the Military Police were reservists who had day jobs unless they took on the role for civil protection full time. He had divulged that the military had chosen specifically MP's such as him, with their unique clinical background, for this recovery operation. Damian was glad too, it felt good to talk to a shrink, to be assured it was normal. Senior Trooper Alejandro advised the Sergeant to allow a few days to a week for his symptoms to naturally play out, that if it got worse, to not hesitate to call it in. Sometimes the mind could process things and get back on track, sometimes it couldn't. It was okay to seek help, that was a common theme in Anagonia and the Military.

Looking across from him, he realized the President had addressed him with the question.

"I-I'm doing okay, Mister President," the Sergeant replied finally. It had been a second or two before he found the words to reply.

Mileethus tilted his head slightly, examining the Sergeant closer. "Did they mistreat you, son? Did they do things to you?"

"N-no sir," Damian replied. In truth he was slightly intimidated and afraid by the Komodren across from him, not that he was speciesist or anything. That and the mental clout his mind was trying to handle upped his anxiety ten-fold. "They were...they treated us great, sir. They did. I'm just trying to process that we're actually going home. I didn't think we would. I think most of us was preparing mentally for something far worse."

There were a few grumbles of agreement from his Marines.

"I see," replied the President. "Anything you or your Marines need, son. You let us know. Your superiors know. You'll have it."

"T-thank you, sir. We will."

What else was there to say? The Sergeant gave a nod, trying to smile back at the President. The President gave a nod back, focusing on something else. Quietly, Damian breathed a sigh of relief. His anxiety began to quiet down. Was he a speciesist and didn't know it? He hoped not. He liked his President. He had voted for him. The fact he had gone through so much secrecy and trouble to personally rescue his Marines and himself was, by itself, a demonstration of his outstanding leadership. Why had he felt such fear then? He promised himself to consult with the Senior Trooper - or any shrink really. He promised himself to get checked out.

October 11th, 106 AUR
1145 Hours Anagonian Standard Time
V-30 Phantom Papa Tango Alpha; Returning to FHB Acur Alpha under Escort
President Mileethus Canisilus; Commander-in-Chief on board

The ride back to Acur Alpha was uncomfortable.

Mileethus had tried to be an authority figure to his Marines, and he believed that deep down he had done so. The Marines, regardless of their treatment, were all showing signs of preliminary PTSD and relapse according to Senior Trooper Alejandro. Something had either happened during their time with the Royal Marines, whether it be mistreatment or perhaps the feeling of abandonment. All of the Marines had affirmed that the Royal Marines had treated them well - exceedingly well. Alejandro had therefore postulated that the development of their conditions was because of a feeling of abandonment rising in their ranks, of never going home, of feeling forgotten. It was a cruel, horrible concept for the President to grasp as he had little to no experience other than his voluntary time in the Military. He had never been captured or forgotten and the closest thing he could relate to the feeling was the knowledge during the Scandinvan Christian Rebellions that there had been people wanting to kidnap him and his wife to skin and sell for purses, boots, and generally any kind of attire. While that had indeed been a traumatizing experience for the President and the nation, it paled in comparison to understanding what had developed here among Dragon Fire Company.

His conversation with the Sergeant had been brief and affirmed his perception of things. It was difficult being non-human, especially in such a prestigious position as he had. After the Scandinvan Christian Rebellion, things across the nation had generally - and quite exponentially - improved for the non-humans across Anagonian society. It was if society as a whole realized that a set of its own had been forgotten and not tended to, that it took well over eight-thousand innocent non-human deaths for the Anagonians to accept that something was amiss. It wasn't their fault, not really. Things had already begun to naturally shift in a more diverse and accepting manner upon his election to the Presidency. It had been a radical change in the perception of society and its expectations of what it was tolerant to. The Scandinvan Christian Rebellions were simply an event to bring to light the extremists against such change and, naturally, they had all been found out and killed. There was still underlying speciesist sentiment in society, though, and Mileethus had felt it in the conversation with the Sergeant.

He felt it wasn't intentional, though. Not intentional at all.

It had been something else. Something primal and instinctive. Like a prey was gazing upon a predator, the unnerving experience awakening a sense of anxiety and self preservation. Perhaps it was due to their weakened mental state that such mundane concepts had so readily sneaked upon them, or perhaps they had never seen a Komodren up close before - which didn't seem right since Master Sergeant Maximian was a Komodren as well. Regardless of whatever had allowed it to expose itself, it was clear to Mileethus that he sensed that the Sergeant feared him. No, it wasn't speciesist, the President decided. It was simply a weakened mental state due to unexpected captivity. He would shrug it off. Even if it had been intentional or an underlying concept of understanding that the Sergeant had, he would have still shrugged it off. The Sergeant was one of his Marines, his warriors, and as President it was his duty to support him through thick and thin.

Mileethus promised himself to check in on these Marines specifically and their recovery. He would continue to demonstrate that leadership as necessary. Most of all, and perhaps quite selfishly, he wanted to see just how the Sergeant recovered. For now, though, matters of politics and diplomatic concerns crossed the mind of the President. The remainder of the ride to Acur Alpha went smoothly enough, but his thoughts were deeply troubled.

The exploits of your personnel have already made the rounds here within our command structure. Master Sergeant Maximian has stated good things about your representative, H-12 Security Proxy. They and other units like them have been assisting the humanitarian effort with great effect. Having you at the negotiations will undoubtedly be beneficial in both the short and long term, so I believe we accept your request for that. Thank you for appropriately notifying us of your arrival. I have sent a general FLASH to our force commanders to notify them of your expected arrival and where you are heading. October 11th, 106 AUR
2318 Hours Anagonian Standard Time
Forward Humanitarian Base Acur Alpha
Master Sergeant Secundus Maximian; Overseeing Humanitarian Operations

Acur Alpha had over the course of only a short week become a major hub of activity. What had begun as a few acres of humanitarian operations had quickly expanded to well over sixty acres of facilities, storages, landing pads, runways, and hangers. Master Sergeant Maximian was greatly unsure if the Anagonian Military would want to even give up this land once peace talks had concluded, but considering that things were proceeding very well on that front, it would be understandable if it was gone overnight after the talks concluded. A lot of Marines were here now, well over five-thousand by last count. Military Police were heavily present as well, patrolling as they typically would on any military installation and quite noticeable in their patrols. Another addition had been the many Darlingtown Security Proxy frames that were going about. Without them here, a lot of the heavy lifting would have taken considerably longer.

The Komodren made his way across the base. Behind him, a Marine Guard was following him, keeping pace as they both approached the tent utilized for the Darlingtown Headquarters. The Master Sergeant greeted the sentry at the entrance before being allowed in. There, he approached where H-12 was presently standing. It was kinds of sophisticated inside the Darlingtown tent and after one quick glance, the Master Sergeant deduced he'd likely never understand it. He focused on why he was here.

"H-12!" greeted Secundus, "Master Sergeant Maximian. We were introduced briefly on your arrival a week or so ago. I came to check in with you, see if there's anything we can do differently if required to help your units or provide anything you need. You all have been an outstanding help to our efforts and I believe I'm also here to extend our heartfelt thanks on that front."

Spartan-class Coastal Patrol Gunboat (CPG-01); Coastal Patrol Fleet Terrifying Rooster
Commander Cohen Andrews; Commanding Officer

Commodore Crawford had established several CPF fleets comprising mainly the coastal patrol gunboats that had arrived with the additional reinforcement fleets. Commander Andrews commanded one of those, which comprised itself of two gunboats - the CPG-31 CSS Terrifying Rooster commanded by Cohen and the CPG-32 CSS Victoria's Halberd. Both gunboats were attached to Naval Battle Fleet Colossus as their primary fleet, only temporarily assigned as a Coastal Patrol Fleet for the duration of the Gyzantian conflict. News had come down from the Commodore and her intelligence staff that the gangs attempting to destabilize the Gyzantian Theater of Operations was none other than the notorious Tegushi Gang. The Tegushi were apparently a well known problem in nations such as Janpia, Niran, and many others - but the list was still short.

The searchlight on the gunboat turned to scan the beach. The Spartan-class of Anagonian Gunboats never typically ventured farther from the shore of their homeland than necessary, however they had been specifically designed to be a multi-role platform. In cases of extreme emergencies or - in the case of the Gyzantian Civil War - necessary need, they could operate as a proper warship and sail across the deep oceans instead of coastal waters. Typically, if they were utilized in fleets, they would operate under frigate designations due to their armament and sensor suites. In the case of the Naval Battle Fleets, they operated under their traditional role as gunboats and light attack vessels. They were excellent anti-piracy platforms as well.

Several Navy personnel manned the four GAU-16 Browning Machine Gun mounts, two on either side of the gunboat. The fore OTO Malera 76mm turret was actively moving and scanning the coastline as well. Many of the sailors on the upper deck had binoculars or some other visual aid for nighttime. Commander Andrews had reports that there was heavy Tegushi activity in the area and he wanted to make sure they saw his gunboat.

Both the Terrifying Rooster and Victoria's Halberd had arrived in the area of coastline to the east of the city of Galasia, just north of the city of Kurthia. It was the dead of night and Commander Andrews had the Victoria's Halberd maintain a patrol deeper into the waters to his gunboats rear, to provide an active unit in the event of an attack. The Terrifying Rooster was closer to the shore, broadside to it as it gently coasted in the waters at around five knots to allow its lookout crews a chance to spot anything.

So far....nothing. But that could change.

A quick message is sent off to Anagonia, in hopes of roping Laura Ortiz (who is waiting in Dessin) into the peace talks. Perhaps to try to represent Gonswanza, but also to perhaps broker some form of peace deal with a prisoner exchange on KTO's behalf, along with ideas on how to rebuild the bridge that was knocked out. She'd still refuse to admit her part in the war, however, given that Backbreaker not only exposed the harsh reality of war, but even exposed a gaping weakness in the Technate's defenses long before anyone else could exploit them. And exploit she did... But that's all in the past. Water under the (metaphorical) bridge.

Hi! It's me again! Your friendly leader of Gonswanza, Laura Ortiz! I was just uh, wondering here... Where's the meeting taking place? I've been grounded in my aircraft out of fears of a shoot-down from the Technate purely out of spite or something. At least, that's what my CREW suspects. In all reality, I doubt it's possible. Regardless, I am happy to show up once a location is decided, just to talk. Peacefully. I swear. I'm taking my own guards with me, however, for some security. They don't bite. Not too hard, anyways. I probably bite harder. Now, feel free to update me on the planned location, so I can get there. Please? Thank you.
Praise our glorious leader Laura Ortiz!

This is Commodore Crawford of the Confederate States Navy,

I'm sending you the squawk codes for your pilot to utilize to identify yourself as humanitarian. Please make your way to the city of Acur to our base at Acur Alpha. The location is sent with this message. If you cannot make it, a transport will be sent to retrieve you. You are welcome to the talks as far as my understanding goes.

The President is, at present, resting after his ordeal today.

Sincerely,
Commodore Leanna Crawford

Oh, good. A location! I will be over soon, may use the aircraft after all. I'll be over in a few. Oh, and, I see a chance for something special here. That is future construction projects. But of course, I'd rather weigh in than just blindly accept terms, knowing who's playing ball here. Especially a certain party whom I cannot name, but I think you know given their presence in that one incident. With the Janpians. Our blackbirds saw it happen.

That aside, I also wonder if perhaps I could try to wrangle the Oceanians and others into giving up their prisoners, instead of treating them like loot. At the same time, though, they did use civilians as meatshields. So there's that.

Finally, I want to say, it will be an honor to meet you, and the participants. Especially in my own gala uniform, rather than the boring ol' blacks and whites.

And so, the message was sent... As Laura Ortiz instructs the crew, relaying the necessary information over. They are due to arrive to Acur soon, in due time, of course.
Praise our glorious leader Laura Ortiz!

After tons of fighting and realizing that there was nothing waiting for them if they die in the caves. The commanding officer of the Avis Island forces makes a public radio message, urging all of the Technate's forces to surrender to the Colstrean and allied forces. Immediately, all troops raised their hands, only hoping to be treated according to the rules of war.

The plane carrying Simon Herzland has landed on the city of Dessin, where the peace deals are to be done. He was greeted with protests on the street, with some signs saying: "TO THE PERSON WHO BOMBED MY HOME: GO BACK TO WHERE YOU CAME FROM!". He had to accept seeing this signs, after all, it was his and the General Staff's fault to authorize artillery attacks into Dessin, and now he is there to make peace deals with them. It was truly embarrassing for him.

Hours later, he will meet with Peter Hess, with a heavy atmosphere containing the room that even the cameramen felt it. They managed to talk stuff in a formal tone and decided to call it a day after 30 minutes of talking to each other. Herzland arrives at a hotel, where he will stay for a few days before the peace deal will be conducted in the Hatrus Castle, right on the outskirts of the city.

From: Princess-Regent Alavaine de Cressa
Subject: Peace Talks
Encryption: Most Secret

Your Majesty,

Before I attend the peace talks at Dessin, I would like to make sure that security and communications arrangements are made.
Also, I am meeting with leading peacekeepers

I would like to recommend this: it is possible to unite most of Gyzantia under a constitutional monarchy. It is my intention to urge that this balance different government elements. For instance, I would insist and support the idea of Your Majesty as head of state with executive powers, but to create a legislature with power over finances and legal regulation. If this idea would be acceptable, please let me know.

I have, through negotiations with Anagonia and Janpia, secured the withdrawal of pro-socialist allies from Port Nithu, and thus have achieved, in our area of operation, a true cease fire that gives us an effective means of negotiating. I salute all of your forces and mine that have acted both bravely and dutifully in that situation.

Princess-Regent Alavaine de Cressa

The transport of a Regent or Monarch of Sombreland outside of the country was unheard of in the last two centuries, and so there was a great deal of concern over proper etiquette. After discussion, the Minister of the Right and the Minister of Divinity had had their officials peruse every document concerning such travel, and determined that it would be impossible to insist on the forms of etiquette that were proper, and that they should treat the matter as though it was terra incognita. So a few small items, though of great importance, were suggested.

First: the title of the Princess-Regent was to be initially addressed as "Her Majestic Highness". Following this, she could be referred to as "Ma'am."

Second: No one should address the Princess-Regent before she addressed them unless they were a head of state

Third: No one below the rank of head of state should turn their back on the Princess-Regent unless they were at least six feet away.

Fourth: No one should offer the Princess-Regent any food or drink directly; they should only make a verbal offer, and her food and drink had to be handled by her own attendants.

This was after much arguing and sniping between the ministers, directors and other officials. The Princess-Regent was unaware of most of these discussions until they were over, and she was quite horrified. "I might as well...go there in rags or something!" she exclaimed.

"Majestic Highness, the wonderful benevolence you are showing will be as though the people were basking in the rays of your generosity..." protested the Chancellor.

Sombreland National Anthem
In any case, when she first arrived in Gyzantia, she was first greeted by her own Marines and sailors, with a band gloriously playing the Sombreland national anthem when she arrived, wearing a long dark gown embroidered with rubies and lapis lazuli, a coronet of glittering sapphires and diamonds, all of which paled beside the Princess-Regent's own beauty. Her face was an oval expression of such sweet loveliness that men's hearts broke just seeing her smile. The hints of her wonderful body beneath the gown even slightly made people shudder. Her soft pale hands suggested her ancient birth and excellent youth combined.

From the point of view of young Royal Marines at Sikklosa, they could feel, with growing excitement, the approach of the Princess-Regent as the convoy of cars bearing her approached, as cheering grew in great excitement as she was driven by. Every Royal Marine, young and old, could not help but cheer and almost break discipline. Laughing NCOs barked orders for them to hold formation as she drove by, and her smile filled them with joy as she drove by. What other country had such a beautiful, benevolent young ruler?

Princess-Regent Alavaine was a little stunned by it all. She had had no idea that the new warships were so splendid, with such excellent technology, or that the Royal Marines had such formidable equipment now. She was used to the finely dressed Palace Guards with their classic uniforms, all formal and fine, gleaming and beautiful. These men looked like they were ready to go out and do hard work. She commented this excitedly, and the Grand Admiral, Teroth, was very proud at how pleased she was.

"Well, I am now ready to go and meet my fellow rulers! How exciting, and what a good ending to all this...we must do it well." she almost burst into tears. "Those loyal, loyal men...and women too. I must not let them down, I must not let their work be in vain!" she said to her entourage.

"How could that be possible?" said Lady-Countess Carnelian.

"That could not possibly happen," said the Minister of the Left sleepily.

Following this, she boarded the executive plane again. This caused more tension for the Grand Admiral and the overseas command, but there was little that they could do. it was not merely a matter of trusting the Anagonians, but of trusting the other combatants as well. So as they boarded the plane, the Grand Admiral ordered Admiral Dargon, "Monitor the situation carefully. I trust the Anagonians, but there are others, especially the native Gyzantian socialists, who may seize an opportunity to attack."

A flight of Bartgeier Multi Role Naval fighters, commanded by Flight Leader Gossing, whose eyes nearly popped from his head when he was given the assignment, were to escort the Princess-Regent's plane to Acur, and to coordinate with Anagonian air security operations for this purpose. They were especially alert. Farther out from the escort, Blackfly drones, not as fast but with good range of radar, were also in the air just in case.
But the Princess-Regent played backgammon with Lady-Countess Carnelian during the flight and seemed very calm. The Minister of the Left slept. Grand Admiral Teroth read reports about the war. The Director of Foreign Affairs went over last minute reports about the diplomatic situation.

When they arrived, the Princess-Regent was to step out into truly foreign territory. She was accompanied by Prince Shaladew Kadav, who was Minister of the Left and Minister of Death; Grand Admiral Teroth; The Director of Foreign Affairs; Lady-Countess Carnelian; her Captain of the Guard; her personal Honour Guard; and several servants and secretaries.

With the new update as she was en route, Laura Ortiz can't help but punch the reinforced window of her aircraft, sighing in annoyance. The aircraft was now forced to loiter, until further instructions came in, as she holds her tongue. But she does kick it back with a heavy bottle of wine, followed by a THC-laced cigar, as she flops down into a leather chair (given she stood up from her couch) and resumes watching the game, with the pilots a bit confused and already asking for more information, upon receiving reports of the leader of the Technate landing in Dessin, with the Queen of Somberland as well.
Praise our glorious leader Laura Ortiz!

The arrival of the Princess-Regent was met with equal gallantry from the Confederate Marines, most unused to such displayed of pomp and ceremony. They were all still professional, however, with sharp and crisp movements to their formations as they greeted the Princess-Regent on her arrival. The air security was practically insane around Acur Alpha, the Anagonians coming through with their promise to protect the airspace as they had added additional - possibly unwarranted - air patrols from the carriers out to sea. Confederate Marines to either side of him, President Canisilus waited for the Princess-Regent to depart. Flags of both nations were present, along with those of Gyzantia. The President moved forward when the Princess finally departed her aircraft, under guard of course.

The tall Komodren stood in front of his Marines and Military Police, the honor guard in full display. He spoke only when she was close.

"Your Majestic Highness," the President greeted, remembering the protocol papers he had read over. It wasn't so much as offering his loyalty as it was offering simple courtesy. "Welcome to Acur Alpha. I have been unfortunately notified that the talks of peace will take place in Dessin. I had expected the Princess-Regent to head straight there due to the change of plans, however it is very fortuitous you were to arrive here. Perhaps you would join me on my transport there, and together we could talk?"

The flight of three F-35C's came casually alongside the aircraft designated to be owned by Laura Ortiz. They had been made aware of the developing situation and the Commodore had ordered a flight to escort Laura to the new destination. As such, the flight of three F-35C's already in the area were redesignated for the task. Lt. Master Portland didn't like babysit assignments, but it was better than being shot at.

"Attention aircraft, Pilot Laura Ortiz," the Lt. Master announced over open comms. "This is Charlie Charlie Papa, flight of three from the CSS Anagonia. I am assigned to escort you to Dessin. Do you require fuel or stop? We will be your escort. Commodore Crawford sends her regards."
