Carriers
1. Elliot Armstrong-Class Strike Carrier (CVSNT2-01)
Joint Anagonian/Marquesan-designed and Manufactured Model
Image
Confederate Navy Overview
The Elliot Armstrong-class Strike Carrier is an upgrade over the Anagonia-class Strike Carrier through a joint initiative with the Meritocratic Union of Marquesa and the Confederate States of Anagonia. Its name is in honor of Chief General Elliot Armstrong, whom died in a crash on September 3rd, 105 AUR. As an upgraded class, it is considered to be within the same Supercarrier family as the Anagonia-class, and not a separate design. This resulted in the official designation of CVSN-01T2, which abbreviates Nuclear Strike Carrier Tranche II - 01, wherein Tranche signifies the additional portion or upgrade. It is very clear that the two Strike Carriers are of different hull designs. The Anagonia-class, as an example, takes its hull inspiration from the United States Navy Forrestal-class Supercarrier design. On the other hand, the Elliot Armstrong-class takes its hull design inspiration from the United States Navy Kitty Hawk-class Supercarrier. Despite this technicality, the Confederate States Navy is insistent that the Elliot Armstrong-class is an upgrade rather than a separate hull family of Strike Carriers.

The objective of the Elliot Armstrong-class is to supplement and support the Anagonia-class Strike Carriers in joint operations, as well as providing a show of force and strong presence in international engagements and situations. The primary mission of the class is to operate internationally and demonstrate the Confederate Navy's commitment to peacekeeping and trade protection. With bolstered technological and munition upgrades, as well as a redesigned hull to compliment the attachment of F-21B Drekafighters, it is expected to make a satisfying presence on the high seas.

The first of the class, the CSS Elliot Armstrong, was originally to be named the CSS Confederate States. The incident following the deaths of Chief General's Elliot Armstrong and Titus Bond prompted a change of name in honor of the military and political leaders.

2. Anagonia-Class Strike Carrier (SCV-01/CVSN-01)
Anagonian-designed and Manufactured Model
Image

Confederate Navy Overview:
The Anagonia-Class Strike Carrier was the crowning achievement of the United Republic Navy. Completely designed and constructed surrounding the Forrestal-class of carriers, the Anagonia-Class was intended to represent the will and power of the United Republic Navy throughout the world. Having fought in several World Wars and international conflicts, it is amazing that not a single one of the Strike Carriers was to be lost; the exception being USS Independence during the Greatest World War, suffering a massive bow missile impact that nearly sank her and resulted in her early decommissioning into a museum ship. Several other carriers within the Anagonia-class were to be almost as severely damaged, but none after the Independence were to have such an extensive loss of structural integrity and life - and still float.

Following the fall of the United Republic, the Confederate States Navy operated and maintained all six operating Strike Carriers until it was realized that the funds necessary to maintain such a fleet were impossible to acquire at the time. The SCV-03 and SCV-04 were sold to the Imperial Empire of Drekamythia and the Soviet Union of Nodea Rudav respectively, gaining the necessary funds to properly decommission SCV-01 and SCV-02 into museum ships and still have a balance acceptable enough to restore and refit SCV-06 and SCV-07. With their growing age, the Confederate States Navy plans to retire SCV-06 CSS Olympia and SCV-07 CSS Freedom after finishing construction of SCV-08, SCV-09, and SCV-10.

UPDATE #1
On October of 104 AUR, all three Strike Carriers under construction were completed and sea trials began the following month. On June 27th, 105 AUR, sea trials were completed and Strike Carriers SCV-08 CSS Poseidon, SCV-09 CSS Courageous and SCV-10 CSS Defiance entered active duty. The Confederate Navy is open about the possibility of constructing more Anagonia-class Strike Carriers, however it remains committed to finding a better and more adequate solution to its large carrier needs. As a result the Navy has, in recent years, favored the Boxer-class Light Carrier for its simplicity, cost-efficiency, and capability. The Confederate Navy intends to utilize a large fleet of Light Carriers to extend its reach across the globe while maintaining a smaller fleet of larger carriers for missions requiring a more extensive capability and military presence.

UPDATE #2
In July of 105 AUR, the Chief Admiral of the Confederate Navy has reconsidered the advantages of the Strike Carrier. As such, the Navy has opened the door for further construction of additional Strike Carriers.

3. Boxer-Class Light Carrier (CVL)
Purchased Model
Image

Overview(Original):
When in a situation where a Fleet Carrier is considered overkill, but requires airpower, there’s only one thing that can scratch that itch, a Light Aircraft Carrier. To fulfill this need, Hypersphere Technologies has developed the Boxer-Class CVL. Having been in service for several years now in the Belkan Kaiserliche Marine, the Boxer is a capable warship with enough firepower to tackle a small fleet on its own.

The air wing for the Boxer can vary, but due to the size of the elevators, the planes are limited in size to smaller aircraft such as the Harrier & Hornet with the E-2 as the largest it’ll hold. While for regular carriers this would be a fatal flaw, the Boxer is a light carrier and Harriers & Hornet-size aircraft are just what was envisioned being operated from her decks. But the air wing isn’t the only bit of offensive hardware at the Boxer’s disposal. Mounted just behind the Island is a 36 cell Mk. 41 Strike-length VLS, capable of holding any missiles that’ll fit in the VLS system. The standard payload with in the Belkan Kaiserliche Marine is 8 Fasthawks, 8 VLS Harpoons, & 36 ESSM for defense. Supporting the ESSMs is a Phalanx Bk. II mount on top of the bridge and a SeaRAM just past the Mk. 41 VLS.

Among the many sensors on board the Boxer is the prominent radar mast. Based on the Thales APAR X-Band radar, the Hoffnung Technologies designed Camelot Radar Mast is an improvement to the APAR as its effective range has been increased from 150 km to 225 km. Mounted on top of the Camelot Mast is another product from Hoffnung, the LIGHT-M VLR S-Band Radar meant to detect any incoming aircraft long before it reached the Carrier, up to 400km out.

Confederate Navy Overview:
Originally intended to fill a slated "Light Carrier" role, the Boxer-class Light Carrier was given a role reassignment with the introduction of the newly-minted Lexington-class Battlecarriers and the decommissioning and/or selling of most of the Anagonia-Class Strike Carriers. The true value of the Boxer-class Light Carrier is its amazing capability to be easily rearmed and refitting for mission-critical specifications, making it essentially a fast-response Light Carrier for hotzones across the globe. Various flight configurations exist within the Confederate Navy to fill the necessary roles, up to and including maritime patrol and coastal protection. Versatile and well worth the cost, the Confederate Navy intends to maintain a large fleet of Boxer-Class Light Carriers to ensure coverage across its fleet.

A total of six Boxer-class Light Carriers were purchased, having served with distinction during the Greatest World War. Several dozen more Boxer-class Light Carriers have been constructed since the original purchased Boxer-class Light Carriers were decommissioned, with an additional Boxer-class under construction.

UPDATE
As of July 10th, 105 AUR, the Confederate States Navy has taken a more conservative approach to its Boxer-class Light Carrier Fleet. Several of the older ships are expected to be retired soon with little plans to construct more unless necessary. The Navy has since redirected its focus to constructing larger strike carriers to provide adequate fleet coverage.

Multi-Purpose Carriers
1. Lexington-Class Battleship Carrier (BBCVGN-761)
Purchased Custom-Designed Model
Image
Redrawn Image by EmperorMyric, Top-down by Drakonia, Commissioned by Anagonia

Overview(Original)
During Marine landings on foreign soil, the Armed Forces found that they lacked a platform that could both deliver devastating damage and carry forward a small expeditionary force capable of dealing with Police Actions. So the Confederacy commissioned the Imperial Royal Shipyards to design and construct a platform capable of delivering the desired results. After a lengthy process, the Lexington-Class Battleship Carrier was soon completed.

Designed and created by Dewhurst-Narculis engineers, it was modified to have the rear of ship be a carrier VTOL deck for launching VTOL fighter craft and helicopters. The middle and fore are totally reminiscent of the Iowa-class Battleship which has served the Confederate Marines well during their times. Missile launchers complete the picture making the Lexington-Class an extremely capable fighting machine.

The design of the Lexington-class is made to assist in shipyards through the tedious and often long-duration process of refitting older model vessels. With an ample supply of Iowa-class Battleships, the majority of the Lexington-classes within the fleet are completely updated and refitted Iowa-class superstructures. Only a few Lexington-Class Battleship Carriers are intended to be constructed from the ground up, completely new.

The Lexington-Class Battleship Carriers designation is BBCVGN; Battleship Carrier Guided missile Nuclear ship Six-Hundred and Seventy-One final.

Confederate States Navy Overview:
The Lexington-Class Battleship Carriers, more commonly referred to as "Battlecarriers", were one of the few designs of ships specifically catered to the growing needs of the Confederate Navy. Designed with the intention to replace the LHD-1 Wasp Class Amphibious Assault Ships and provide ground force operational support for the Confederate States Marine Corps, the Lexington-class is unique in that most ships in the class are recycled from the older hulls of Iowa-class Battleships and scrap-metal from LHD-1 Wasp class assault ships. This process of recycling older ship metals was ended with the construction of BBCVGN-771 CSS Mercury, and onward, as the older ship stock required for the recycling had been adequately diminished.

Battleships
1. Confederacy-class Fast Battleship (BBGN-861)
Anagonian-designed and Manufactured Model
Image

Image by EmperorMyric, Commissioned by Anagonia

The Confederacy-class Fast Battleship is the result of decades of research and development into a battleship design to replace the aging Iowa-class battleships within the Confederate Navy. With the Iowa-class refurbishing program underway during the time of the Lexington-Class refits and reconstructions, the Confederate States Navy needed a more modern, more viable replacement to serve the nation for decades more. The resulting conclusion was the Confederacy-class Fast Battleship, designated BBGN-861 for BattleBoat Guided Nuclear Eight-Hundred and Sixty-One final.

This design is reminiscent of the Lexington-class in construction, with the exception of the VTOL platform. Traditionally, the Confederacy-class of Battleships are named in honor of either States or government types within those states. In recent times, newer Confederacy-class Battleships have taken on a variety of names signifying strength and defense.

Super Battleships
1. Gothica-class Fast Battleship (BBGN-734)
Joint Anagonian/Marquesa-designed and Manufactured Model
Image

Image by EmperorMyric, Commissioned by Anagonia

The Gothica-class Fast Battleship is a jointly designed battleship between the Confederate States of Anagonia and the Meritocratic Union of Marquesa to replace the Confederacy-class Fast Battleship. Initiated under the classified title of "PROJECT MONTANA" by the Confederate States Navy in 85 AUR, the project stalled for well over ten years as resources and allocated think-tanks were placed elsewhere. During 95 AUR, after sitting silently on a shelf in a military storeroom, Chief General Elliot Armstrong brought the project back to life and requested the assistance of the Meritocratic Union. Within five years a viable prototype was designed and within another two the first hull of the class was completed and tried, using the experience to better subsequent iterations.

The primary objective of the Gothica-class is to combat large naval assets from enemy forces, namely dreadnoughts and super-dreadnoughts, and continue to operate under the same expectations as its predecessor. Infused with the best of both Anagonian and Marquesan technology, the Confederate Navy anticipates that the Gothica-class will have a service life for well over a century with additional design upgrades and continued maintenance.

Unlike the Confederacy-class, the Gothica-class Battleships are given imposing names to emphasize its role to counter threats within and outside of Gholgoth. While the Confederate Navy considers the Gothica-class as a Fast Battleship, it is recognized also as a Super Battleship due to its armament and capabilities. In listings, the Gothica-class Fast Battleship will always fall under the category of Super Battleship.

2. North Carolina-Class (BBGN)
Purchased Model
Image

Overview(Original):
After the Fletcher-Class FFG was designed and construction started, a proposal was put further by the team of engineers who developed the Fletcher. Called the Stealth Fleet Initiative, design and built a series of ships based on the general design of the Zumwalt & Fletcher classes to create all the ships needed to form an All Stealth Fleet. To fill the Battleship role, the North Carolina-Class Nuclear-powered Guided Missile Battleship was created.

Like the other ships in the Stealth Fleet Initiative, the North Carolina-Class was named after a famous WWII Era Class Leader of the same type of ship, in this case, the Battleship North Carolina. When it became time for the SFI Committee to name the ship, 4 names were put forth; Iowa, Montana, South Dakota, & North Carolina. The first two names were struck almost immediately due to both ships still being in service with navies around the world. As for the last two, the committee was divided to the point that a coin toss was used to choose the name, Heads for NorCar & Tails for SouDak. Needless to say, the coin landed on Heads.

Her design is that of a Trimaran, a main hull with 2 outrigger hulls that hold the secondaries and extra aviation fuel for the helicopters that operate off the North Carolina. The Trimaran design was chosen due to it being a very stable gun platform and the speed increase that comes with the design. To cut down on costs, the North Carolina-Class shares many features with its smaller cousin in the Stealth Fleet Initiative, the Alaska-Class Cruiser. Among these are its power plant, sonar package, and the biggest of all, the Deck House with all the radars.

While she doesn’t have the number of guns that her namesake has, the North Carolina’s 8 16” guns fire several different types of shells & rounds which puts this modern ship ahead of her older incarnation. The standard shell fired from her is a product out of Birkaine, a Scramjet Assisted Armor Piercing High Explosive (SJ-APHE) Shell.
Image

Other shells fired are bomblet dispensing shell, a Sabot round utilizing a Base Sabot and a 8” ERGM, and the normal High Explosive shell. To compliment the North Carolina’s big guns is 14 5” secondary guns based on the AGS & the Mk. 45 Mod 4. Using the mount of the AGS as a base, it was fitted to the proven Mk. 45 Mod 4 gun and its below deck autoloader. In addition to the gun of the North Carolina are 208 Strike-Length VLS Cells mounted on the sides of the helicopter landing pad. To defend the North Carolina are 5 25mm Linebacker CIWS & ESSMs from the Mk. 57 PVLS.

Confederate States Navy Overview:
The United Republic Navy purchased six North Carolina-class Battleships before the Greatest World War, in a plan to counter the super-massive battleships in place in the Gothic region as a whole. Only a few years after hostilities started, two of these ships would be utterly destroyed by Freekian super-dreadnaughts, with the remainder having been severely damaged or destroyed defending the coastline of Anagonia from the invading Gothic forces or not being able to participate in the hostilities at all. With dwindling resources and funds at its disposal during its inception, the infant Confederate States Navy originally mothballed the remaining ships and began to scrap several in the process. One, however, was saved by order of Tiberius Samsus.

This lone ship would go on to serve the Navy as a museum ship, to be reactivated only upon a national emergency or order of the President.

Original Purchased/Destroyed:
BBGN-01 USS Carolina (Destroyed by Freekian forces in the Greatest World War, 8 BCS)
BBGN-02 USS Virginia (Destroyed by Gothic forces in the Greatest World War, 8 BCS)

Glacier-class Icebreaker Specifications

Confederate Navy Overview

The Glacier-class Icebreaker was acquired by the Confederate Environmental Protection Agency for the purpose of peaceful exploration of arctic oceans as well as extended duration scientific environmental missions. The Glacier-class has been retrofitted internally to support a wide array of scientific instruments and capabilities so Biological Scientists can better understand and monitor the conditions of the world around them. Being a ship designed for the peaceful exploration of the environment across the planet, the Glacier-class is not outfitted with any offensive weaponry. Defensively, the Glacier-class has been outfitted with two Phalanx CIWS mounts for defense against pirate threats. The Confederate Navy has additionally added a weapons locker for crew served weapons as well as mounts for machine guns across the deck for the crew to utilize in the event of attempted boarding.

The Glacier-class Icebreakers have been given the designation ABRSN, which stands for Auxiliary Icebreaker Research Survey Ship Nuclear.

Confederate Military Custom Assets (Training Vessels)

Postby Anagonia » Wed Aug 25, 2021 3:01 pm

Training Vessels
1. Voleur Class Nuclear Attack Submarine (SSN)
Export Version
Image

Overview(Original):
The Voleur class is Yanitaria's newest nuclear attack submarine, and is slated to replace the current, aging fleet of Shchucka-B's.

Not much is known about the Voleur class, except what the Yanitarian government has released, and several rumours circulated over the internet that may or may not have any validity. It is also not known in what numbers they have been produced, or if they have even been put into production yet. However, recent activity in the Okhotsk submarine ship yards suggests that production is in full swing.

A leaked government report suggests that the Voleur Class is extremely quiet, and much harder to track than the older submarines serving with the Yanitarian Royal Navy. It is unknown what armament the Voleur class carries.

It is known that the Voleur Class, if put into production, will only be sold to the closest allies of Yanitaria.

Confederate Navy Overview:
Having had, at one time, a close relation with the nation of Yanitaria, the United Republic had taken advantage of those relations to acquire a few Voleur-class submarines to replace aging Los Angeles-class submarines the United Republic Navy. With the fall of the Republic and the rise of the Confederate States, the Confederate States Navy continues to utilize these submarines and maintains them according - reportedly even building a few new Voleur-class submarines, but this is unconfirmed.

After the introduction of the SSN-85 Thursday-class Nuclear Attack Submarine, all remaining submarines of the Voleur-class were placed into the Submariner Training Division of the Confederate States Navy.

5. LA-602 Kukri class AIP SSK (AIP SSK-101)
Purchased Model
The LA-602 Kukri-class AIP SSK class of Air-Independent Propulsion Diesel Electric Submarines is a direct Domestic Production Rights purchase from the nation of Lamoni. These new Air-Independent Propulsion Diesel Electric Submarines are primarily used for training in the Confederate States Navy for new Submariner Cadets. Due to their advanced nature, they can diverted to crisis situations at a moments notice. The normal mission profile for Kukri-class is coastal patrol, local maritime trade protection, and extensive training for Submariner Cadets for the Confederate States Navy before being promoted to a nuclear-class of Submarine for further training.

The biggest advantage of the Kukri-class over the Navaja-class is its advanced battery fuel-cell system which makes it Air-independent for its propulsion systems under 6 knots. This gives the submarine capabilities for further mission profiles that can further train new cadets in multiple areas of expertise and study, as well as provide the submarine with advanced stealth capabilities that are considerable for a Diesel Electric class of Submarine.

The Kukri-class is intended to be the primary SSK training submarine class for the Confederate States Navy, intended to graduate trained personnel after six months instead of maintaining a set crew.

Confederate Military State and Territorial Militia Units

Postby Anagonia » Sun Aug 29, 2021 6:15 pm

Confederate State and Territorial Militia

Explanation
The Confederate States is comprised of seven sovereign and independent states as well as two sovereign territories. While all states and territories work under the umbrella of the Confederate Government, they do so under a voluntary basis. To this end, their contributions to the central Confederate Military are dependent on their level of involvement with sharing resources with the central government. Each state and territorial government continues to operate their own militia units, or independent military regiments, that cooperate and train with the central military to become an effective fighting force to defend the nation. It is the constitutional obligation of the central government to provide for these member-states and territories and ensure their prosperity for as long as they choose membership within the Confederate States of Anagonia.

In prior years, the central government has offered hand-me-down retired and near-retirement assets to the states and the territorial militia armies at an extreme discount to satisfy their need for self defense. However within the last five years as the central military transitioned from old and outdated units, the state and territorial militia's found that spare parts and resources to repair their assets were depleting fast. A formal protest was lodged and, after delegating resources to investigate and resolve the issue, the Confederate States Armed Forces has resolved to formally supply a universal asset format which will be used across all militia units under Confederate membership. In this way, there will be a clear and functional supply chain for resources such as ammunition and fuel, as well as spare parts and repairs.

The follow is the list of assets acquired under the leadership of Chief General Elliot Armstrong, head of the Department of National Defense, Confederate States of Anagonia. All acquisitions for the benefit of state and territorial militias will be cataloged here for posterity and record keeping.

List of Formal Acquisitions:
1.) Acquisition of new universal air assets (ACCEPTED)

Timeline of the Confederate States (WIP)

Timeline of the Confederate States
UNDER CONSTRUCTION

Explanation of Date Measurement
After the collapse of the United Republic in the Anagonian Year 1986 (Gregorian Year 1926 AD), a new standard of calendar measurement was adopted to signal what was believed to be the beginning of a new era. Known formally as the "Anagonian Calendar Standard", this region-specific calendar measurement adopted the majority of the Gregorian Standards (i.e. months, days, weeks, and some holidays). The only two notable changes are the abbreviation for the calendar standard (AUR or After United Republic) and the general numerical restart of the calendar that begins with "Year Zero" in 1986 AY and counts progressively upward from that point. The easiest method to translate an Anagonian Year is to reference Year Zero as 1986 AY and count forward from that point. For example, the modern year in Anagonia is 105 AUR, which in the Anagonian Year would be 2091 AY or 2031 AD.

The critical differences between Anagonian Years (as measured by the former United Republic) and Gregorian Years (as measured by the majority of the world) is explained in A Neverending Tale. Due to a time distortion by the events described in "A Neverending Tale", several decades have been lost to eternity possibly erasing decades of history. The measurements of time under the United Republic, however, never changed to correct this error. Because of the massive headaches involved in transferring the old system into a new government, the Confederate States opted to create its own system and reference it to Anagonian and Gregorian Years in passing.

The remainder of this Timeline will reference all three date measurements for ease of use. Those of Anagonian Years or AY (as recognized by the United Republic), those of the Anagonian Calendar Standard or AUR (as recognized by the Confederate States), and those of Gregorian Standards or AD (as recognized by the majority of the world). Note that the real actual date will always be Gregorian or AD and the recognized date for canon events will always be the Anagonian Calendar Standard or AUR.

Importance of Year Zero
Year Zero (0 AUR, 1986 AY, 1926 AD) defines the year in which the United Republic formally collapsed and the battles for Unification which led to the formal institution of the government of the Confederate States. During this time, the remnants of the United Republic Military under the leadership of Master Sergeant Tiberius Samsus (who would later attain the rank of Colonel) would wage a battle for reunification to bring order to the collapsed nation. These battles of reunification, historically referred to as the "Wars of Unification", brought swift and decisive victories for Tiberius' cause and ushered him forward as the figurehead for the new Confederacy. Most of the leaders he fought, if not all, would eventually become signatories to the new Constitution of the Confederate States, forever sealing them as the Founding Members of the new government. It is through this year that the majority of historians learn of the founders past, their influence in their decisions, and the importance of the unification and eventual agreement when they became signatories. These events, in essence, became the defining characteristics of the nation as a whole and helped craft and instruct generations to follow.

--0 AUR--
--1986 AY / 1926 AD--

Following the devastating loss of a World War, the collapse of the United Republic of Anagonia due to internal political strains, and the harsh and deadly process of reuniting the mainland, on September 14th, 1986 AY, the signing of the Constitution of the Confederate States and the Articles of the Armed Forces of the Confederacy took place to formally establish the new national government of the Confederate States of Anagonia. A few days later, the newly promoted Colonel Tiberius Samsus, veteran of the Greater World War and Unification Wars, and primary warlord responsible for reuniting the mainland into a cohesive nation, is elected as the First President of the Confederate States by a vast majority of counted votes. Following a brief disagreement due to disputed vote count, the newly established courts are tried for the first time to solve the dispute, and due to notable discrepancies in manual vote counting order a recount. Tiberius does not object, stating the authority of the courts and their role to uphold the new law. Two weeks later, after all possible votes are counted, a vote in favor of his Presidency by 98% is officially recognized by the courts thereby establishing the legitimacy of his Presidency.

During the remainder of this year, the Congress of the Confederate States submits for Presidential and Judicial approval that the Anagonian Calendar be officially switched over to Years After United Republic (AUR), and formalize the date of September 14th, 0 AUR as Foundation Day and recognize the celebration thereof. The decision is unanimous between the Judicial and Executive Branches of government, and the decision is formalized.

The long process begins on how to handle the growing tensions between the newly established Confederate States of Anagonia and the independent nations of Drekamythia and Nodea Rudav, which had at one time been united with Anagonia under the umbrella of the United Republic.

--1 AUR--
--1987 AY / 1927 AD--

The Soviet Union of Nodea Rudav and the Imperial Empire of Drekamythia, both bordering nations to the fledgling Confederate States, begin showing signs of growing distrust for not only each other, but Anagonia as well. Preliminary diplomatic solutions are hard at work as they try to hash out some way to unite the continent once again. Proposes to have Drekamythia and Nodea Rudav apply for statehood are immediately rejected and seen as a hostile provokation. For a period of five months, all diplomatic dialogue is cut off with Anagonia and a period of growing tension is amplified as Anagonian borders are lined with military outposts and units. The fledgling Confederate States attempts to defend its recognized borders, but its joint military is still severely weakened from the efforts of unification. The first crisis of the Confederate States of Anagonia begins.

Border skirmishes are soon reported as Confederate forces retaliate to Imperial and Soviet gunfire, but thankfully no casualties are reported on any side of the skirmish. Reports come in from the Imperial/Confederate borders that Imperial units are pushing further into Confederate-claimed lands, but just as soon as the military gears to respond the Imperial forces retreat to their prior positions. The same situations happen along the Soviet/Confederate borders. President Tiberius Samsus becomes personally involved in the situation, deeming the provocations of the two nations as tests to the resolve of the new Confederacy. As he assists with military deployments he begins a new recruiting campaign for the Confederate Military, parading the idea of mandatory service. Soon after in April of that year, with huge public approval, Mandatory Military Service is added into the enshrined laws of the land.

With swelling numbers in the ranks of the military, the majority of which are experienced veterans from the prior wars of the country and the unification effort thereafter, Tiberius gathers with his highest ranking commanding officers to plot and ponder a response. Operation Flightpath is soon orchestrated, utilizing the combined efforts of two newly established Armies of the Confederacy, with a few fleet and air assets salvaged from the unification war. In June of that year, with short notice and dwindling time to respond, Tiberius commences the operation. Overnight, and with surprisingly minimal casualties to both sides, the two main Armies of the Confederacy cut swathes of land into the Soviet and Imperial territories. Soon, Confederate boots are marching near their respective capitals. Tiberius sends a message that both nations will either enter into proper diplomacy, or he will personally order his armies to begin occupation - a bluff considering at the time the two Armies of the Confederacy were incapable of such actions. Within six hours, Tiberius bluff pays off, and he withdraws his forces as diplomatic negotiations resumes.

--4 AUR--
--1990 AY / 1930 AD--

With the conclusion of negotiations at hand, the formation of the United Continental Confederation is authorized and entered into by the three nations of the Confederate States of Anagonia, the Soviet Union of Nodea Rudav, and the Imperial Empire of Drekamythia. Relations between all three nations vastly improve. With an open avenues to address grievances and establish treaties of all kinds, trade and tourism begin to flourish. Military relations also increase, with several joint exercises conducted within the first year of the inception of the United Continental Confederation. With the successful conclusion of the first crisis to the Confederacy, President Tiberius Samsus turns his attention to other growing concerns within the Confederacy.

During this year, the political landscape in Anagonia begins to dynamically shift. When the Confederacy was first founded, the Grand Senate and Grand House were slowly comprised of unaffiliated Senators and Representatives. For four years no political parties had emerged, up until the events with the neighboring nations was resolved. As the diversifying interests of the people were spoken through with votes, so too did those elected officials rush to represent those interests. Political Parties began to form. The Federalist Party and Confederate National Party are formed, but only representing a minor fraction of the still unaffiliated representatives and senators. In August of 4 AUR, Tiberius Samsus proposes the formation of the Libertarian Party to which he becomes affiliated. The party gains popularity and support and eventually solidifies to compete with the Federalist and Confederate National Parties.

--5 AUR--
--1991 AY / 1931 AD--

Tiberius Samsus is reelected as President of the Confederate States. Following a full swing of national debate and referendums, a full and fresh congressional compliment is elected, with many prior volunteers reelected officially. Confidence in the survivability of the Confederate government is high. That same year, West Island, the notable military and space hub of the defunct United Republic, announces its intentions to surrender authority to the Confederate States after prolonged deliberations, which had initially been highly leaning towards West Island independence. The Confederate Aeronautics and Space Administration is formalized and established to handle the new additions, utilizing resources leftover from the United Republic.

Within this same year, General Oswald Smitz, a notorious proponent for a unified Anagonia, goes missing with all of troops from a military outpost in the southern part of the State of Imperium. In total, a complement of 3,000 soldiers, and dozens of tanks and vehicles remained unaccounted for. As one Military Policeman who investigated the scene famously put it, "It's as if they all just got up and left and took everything with them". Concerns arise within the State Government that the Drekamythian Empire has some involvement in the disappearance. A formal request for investigation is submitted to the Confederate government and forwarded to the newly established UCC council.

During this time, Senator Chuck Shewtz proposes the formation of the Fascist Party of Southern Anagonia. In response, Senator Dimitri Rikov proposes the formation of the Socialist Party of Anagonia to counter that of the Fascist Party. Both parties gain popularity and soon solidify to compete with the already existing Federalist, Libertarian, and Confederate National Parties.

Later that same year, several thousand more soldiers go missing at another base in the State of Imperium. With the credibility of the Confederate Military Police on the line, Detective Andrew Shane, one of the countries most notable policeman from an era past, is put in charge of the investigation. It is quickly discovered through talks that the Imperial Empire of Drekamythia had nothing to do with the disappearances. With full cooperation established through proper United Continental Confederation dialogue, a brief expedition into the Empire finds no records of the missing equipment either. Instead, all evidence points northward, towards the mountains. Within days a previously overlooked journal is discovered that reveals a possible motive; rebellion.

Despite extensive aerial and satellite reconnaissance, including on-foot expeditions into the mountains, no evidence of any base of operations is found. For the moment, the investigation stalls.

--6 AUR--
--1992 AY / 1932 AD--

On February 2nd, 6 AUR, President Tiberius Samsus's motorcade is traveling to an event in the northeast of the State of Lexington, near Union City. Halfway there, the motorcade - protected by Military Policeman - is ambushed by unknown military forces on the highway in broad daylight. Casualties are high, and after a brief skirmish with remaining MP forces, the President is taken hostage. Reports from the surviving Military Policeman were grim. A strong, sizable enemy force had somehow camped along the hills bordering the interstate highway. Detective Andrew Shane finds further evidence that the outlying towns spotted and interacted with soldiers in a military convoy, who for all appearances were perceived to be Confederate soldiers, save for one distinct difference; the flag of the United Republic was clearly visible on their uniforms. No one had thought at the time that this presented any form of danger, and no charges were ever filed.

Humiliated by their lack of oversight and the devastating loss of their President who was under their charge, General of the Confederate States Military Police Ronald Hithforth resigns. Hours after his resignation he is found dead in his home office, having committed suicide with a gunshot wound to his head. Detective Andrew Shane is tasked with cleaning up the scene and finds a suicide note. In it is detailed the reason for the Generals suicide; treason, and regret thereof. With his last words, the deceased General gives the probable location of the unknown forces hideout, and clearly names them as the Sons of the United Republic.

With no response from these Sons of the United Republic and a missing Commander in Chief and President, Vice President Robert Leeson is sworn temporarily into the oath of office as acting President. Relaying his findings to the top brass of the Confederate Military, Andrew Shane receives a call from Acting President Leeson that he is to assume the role of General of the Confederate States Military Police until such a time as one can appointed, and solve this mess. With renewed vigor and more resources at his disposal, Acting General Shane proceeds to formulate plans for an appropriate response.

Two weeks after the death of the disgraced General Hithford, and with no response in any capacity from the Sons of the United Republic, Andrew Shane combines his resources and those of other military branches to raid the location listed in the suicide note. With early reconnaissance confirming it as an unlisted military outpost of some kind, the word is given to proceed on course. For the next forty-two hours, intense fighting commences between the forces of the Sons of the United Republic and the Confederate States Military Police, aided by assets from the Confederate States Marine Corps and Confederate States Air Force. In a daring attempt to rescue the President - or what would remain of him - Acting General Shane leads a raid into the heart of the practical fortress through helicopter, with other air and ground assets severely distracting the security. With heavy losses, they manage to find a heavily guarded room and blow through the blast doors protecting it. There, against the wall, battered and bruised into a practical unrecognizable state, is Tiberius Samsus. Reinforcements are called to assist with the extraction and within two hours, the combined Confederate elements had all but silenced resistance and rescued their captured Commander in Chief.

Those Sons of the United Republic who did not surrender were given no quarrel, and at the end of the battle well over 2800 soldiers of the SUR had been killed or severely maimed. Only 200 had the sense to surrender, either when all hope was lost or at the beginning of their fight. In the resulting aftermath, it was found that nearly all of the members of the SUR had served under leaders and generals obedient to the United Republic and during the unification had been instructed to lay in dormancy until best called. General Oswald Smitz had been one of those Generals, and General Ronald Hithforth had been another. Early reports from interrogation had revealed that General Hithforth had been swaying in loyalties to the Sons of the United Republic due to the success of the Confederacy, which prompted General Smitz to act in open rebellion against the Confederacy. It was found later that the reason for the Presidents abduction wasn't originally to harm him, but merely to force him to recognize General Oswald Smitz and his Sons of the United Republic a place separate from the Confederate States, specifically the State of Imperium.

The demands then became more elaborated as Tiberius rejected each one, and soon the hospitality decreased to the point of beatings. From the eyewitnesses accounts of the SUR soldiers on duty on the time, it appeared that Oswald was becoming progressively more hostile towards Tiberius, to the point where a mere blink triggered a beating. Eventually the President had been reduced to the state he had been upon recovery, a bloody mess, beaten and almost broken. Some of the SUR even stated that had it not been for the timely nighttime operation to recover him, that General Smitz was to execute the President on grounds of treason against the United Republic. Despite further interrogations, no clue to the whereabouts of General Oswald Smitz was ever discovered, who had apparently fled the scene sometime prior to the recovery operation.

Three months later, after enduring painful surgeries and rehabilitation, Tiberius Samsus walks with the assistance of a cane into the Grand Congress Building with rapturous applause. In an emotional ceremony where Acting President Robert Leeson was to resume his duties as Vice President, he is instead handed over the Presidency by Tiberius with blessing. Following a brief explanation of excuse due to personal health reasons on behalf of Tiberius, and with the first and only ceremonial vote to accept a Presidents nomination for his own successor, President Robert Leeson assumes the Office of the Confederate Presidency for the duration of Tiberius's intended term.

Tiberius Samsus, hero and one of the founders of the Confederate States, retires peacefully to a countryside villa near the shores of the Sea of Independence, living quietly in the State of Saratoga, the place of his birth. He would make a brief return to politics in the following decade, but after which he would resume his retirement for the rest of his days in peace and contentment to the nation he helped found.

Acting General Andrew Shane generously stepped down from his role as Acting General of the Confederate States Military Police. He and those who served in the recovery operation were all awarded the Confederate Presidential Medal of Valiantry, with various other medals, honors, and recognitions. He went on to have a son, Richard Shane, who would in time have a son named Thomas Shane. They all would continue the family tradition of serving the Confederacy dutifully as they would don the uniform of the Confederate Military Policeman.

Despite an extensive manhunt, General Oswald Smitz was never found.

--10 AUR--
--1996 AY / 1936 AD--

Arnold Jefferson is elected as the 2nd President of the Confederate States. Analysts would later contribute his victory to his Vice-Presidential Appointment, that of Tiberius Samsus. The Presidency of Arnold Jefferson is a peaceful one, with reconstruction from the unification reaching near completion as the states finalize their rebuilding of the national interstate network with the help of their allies in Drekamythia and Nodea Rudav. In a heartwarming ceremony, President Jefferson steps down from his role to officially open the rebuilt interstate network and instead allows Vice President Tiberius Samsus do the honors. As Jefferson famously stated, "The man who built this country deserves this honor, I'm merely the man elected to maintain it".

With the official reopening of the Anagionian Interstate Highway Network, spanning from across and within the borders of Nodea Rudav and Drekamythia and parts of the eastern unclaimed lands, trade and travel flourishes, along with tourism to parts that had been for several years cut off from modern society. In the reconstruction efforts of the interstate network, a previously forgotten nation of animal and lizard people had been rediscovered, calling themselves the Kretanians. Records recovered from before the collapse of the United Republic indicated they had been saved in a military operation from a tyrannical and genocidal country, granted land, and left to their own devices with the occasional supply transport. They had been unaware of the United Republics demise and at first didn't believe the Confederate Military Policemen who had first encountered the Kretanians. Eventually, however, with overwhelming evidence to the contrary presented talks with the Kretanians flourished. Due to the nature of their arrival to Anagonia, the Confederate States Military Police officially petitioned for their rights as a native tribespeople, which would grant them authority over their own lands and sovereignty over their own decisions. The petition was unanimously accepted by the Grand Congress of the Confederacy. The Kretanians were once again left to their own devices, with the occasional check-up from the Military Policeman permitted to maintain relations.

During his term, the events of the Second Gothic War were to play out. Around 12 AUR, President Jefferson initiated soft diplomatic contact with the Ancient Empire of Kylarnatia. A lend-lease agreement was signed which bolsters the already growing military industry in Anagonia and assisted the Ancient Empire with light arms shipments and supplies. The Confederate States declares formal neutrality during the conflict. Following the conclusion of the Second Gothic War, the Confederate States maintains diplomatic contact with the Kylarnatians.

--15 AUR--
--2001 AY / 1941 AD--

Despite an intense campaign, Arnold Jefferson loses to incumbent Jason Faltore, a Military Policeman who had assisted in the direct recovery of Tiberius Samsus. Having not anticipated a win, Jason had not run with a Vice Presidential pick. Instead, days before his oath of office, Jason invites Arnold to be his VP pick. Arnold accepts graciously. Thus began the familiar tradition of offering the loser to the race a chance at the Office of the Vice President, so long as the winner had no pick or the winners pick gracious stepped aside so the tradition could continue. Thereafter, President Jason Faltore is sworn in as the 3rd President of the Confederate States..

Tiberius Samsus remained in political affiliation as an advisor, assisting with routine issues that would arise as the infant Confederacy began to grow. His dream of a decentralized government entity designed for the People, by the People, would continue through his efforts.

--25 AUR--
--2011 AY / 1951 AD--

President William Youngston is sworn in as the 4th President of the Confederate States. He continues the tradition established by President Jason Faltore, choosing Faltore as his Vice President.

--30 AUR--
--2016 AY / 1956 AD--

President Travis Johnathan is sworn in as the 5th President of the Confederate States. Having already had a Vice Presidental Pick, the tradition established by President Jason Faltore fell into question. Vice Presidential Candidate Laurel Alexander secures the tradition and gracefully bows out of the campaign, providing newly elected President Johnathan with the opportunity to invite and accept his opponent, Willian Youngston, as Vice President.

--35 AUR--
--2021 AY / 1961 AD--

President Laurel Alexander is sworn in as the 6th President of the Confederate States. After she bowed out in the previous campaign with President Travis Johnathan, President Alexander decides to forego tradition and instead persist with her Vice Presidential pick, Christine Kent. This decision does not spell the end of the tradition to offer ones opponents a chance in office, nor will it be the last example of a President foregoing the tradition to do so.

--40 AUR--
--2026 AY / 1966 AD--

President Forest Holloway is sworn in as the 7th President of the Confederate States. Having no Vice Presidential pick, his opponent President Laurel Alexander suggests her Vice President as the most acceptable choice. Following a brief four day period of decision making for his pick, President Holloway invites Vice President Christine Kent to maintain the office of the Vice Presidency under his government. Following her acceptance, President Laurel Alexander retires from politics and settles in the countryside of the Grand Republic of Orgath.

On the morning of the 3rd of March in 53 AUR, assistants to the Presidency attempted to awaken President Forest Holloway. Hearing sobs of apparent anguish, a Military Policeman is called to investigate, finding Madam President Cathrine Holloway with head buried in the chest of President Holloway sobbing uncontrollably. The body of President Holloway was cold at the time of medical personnel investigating and later autopsy revealed no foul play. President Forest Holloway, age 81, had died peacefully in his sleep.

When alerted, Vice President Christine Kent was sworn in as the 2nd Interim President of the Confederate States by Chief Justice Samuel Biggins. Thereby Interim President Christine Kent was ordered by the Grand Congress of the Confederacy to serve out the remainder of President Holloway's term until the next President could be elected.

Non-Human Species of the Confederacy

Postby Anagonia » Sat Sep 04, 2021 11:42 am

Non-Human Species of the Confederacy

Explanation
The Confederate States of Anagonia was formed during a very turbulent time in Anagonian history. Shortly after the collapse of the United Republic, the Non-Human species that lived in isolated communities throughout what is now the Confederate States sought to further isolate themselves from the turmoil of the civil war. Through the diplomatic efforts of Master Sergeant Tiberius Samsus, multiple agreements were written with these communities to honor their wishes for isolation and to respect their community boundaries as acknowledging them as separate and sovereign tribes. Out of all the warlords to arise during the violence of the civil war, only Tiberius would make these agreements, and through his efforts and later support of these tribes did he succeed in unifying the Anagonian continent into the Confederate States. Thanks to their contributions to the unification effort and the honor-bound agreements by the founding father of the Confederacy, the Confederate States continues to honor the agreements made as well as recognizing the non-human species as full citizens with respectful verbage placed in the Constitution of the Confederate States.

History
Several decades before the fall of the United Republic, the United Republic Military was called into action in a foreign land to attempt to save a group of people from the genocide of their tyrannical government. A carrier task force was assigned and through the efforts of the United Republic Navy, several hundred non-human entities in rural and isolated tribal communities were saved from death and given a new lease on life. When they would arrive in the homeland of Anagonia a month later, they were presented with acres of protected lands designated as reserves. Here they would grow their new life, building new communities, and having very little interaction with the outside world.

After the fall of the United Republic, Tiberius Samsus honored his agreements with these communities and enshrined their protected status in the Constitution that would found the Confederate States. In later years under his term as the 1st President of the Confederacy, similar and equally important executive laws would be passed that would protect the tribal status of these non-human communities and enable them a sort of dual citizenship while permitting them sovereign rights and governance over their own lands.

As the communities would grow, the children of these communities would be permitted the choice to enter Anagonian society as full-fledged citizens or stay and prosper in their communities. These non-human species would eventually populate modern society, entering both politics and the armed forces on a voluntary basis. Eventually, in 105 AUR, the first non-human citizen would be elected as the 17th President of the Confederate States.

Mammalian Non-Human Species
Various non-human humanoid mammalian species live within the Confederacy. They are the primary species that, at present day, usually refuse to enter into the modern Anagonian society. They typically live in their own separate, tribal communities out in the wilderness of the Confederate countryside and forests, where they are usually given wellness checks by the Confederate States Military Police a few times per year. If any are seen outside of these tribal communities, it is considered an extremely rare sight indeed, and those that become citizens usually find themselves in the light of fame in popular culture.

Reptilian Non-Human Species
There are two primary types of reptilian humanoids that live within Anagonia. These communities are the primary contributor with new non-human citizens, as their communities are the most in-line politically and morally with those of the Confederacy. They contribute mostly to the efforts of the military by voluntary joining, whilst also contributing their incredible intellect to the educational and scientific growth of the nation. Their uniquely capable traits of superior strength and capability to live in harsher environments makes them excellent candidates for explorers, though their low tolerance for cold environments does sometimes prove to be problematic if they do not prepare appropriately.

Kromen
Image

The Kromen are considered to be the "pigmy kobolds" of the reptilian humanoids. Typically coming in at four feet in height, they are often found in professions requiring expertise in both tight spaces and mechanical competence. They traditionally take jobs in the military with mechanical expertise and technical know-how. They typically weigh in between 100 lbs to 125 lbs, with overweight Kromen weighing in typically from 136 lbs to 170 lbs - though this is extremely rare. Like their Komodren counterparts, they have the ability to both retract and extent their predatory teeth at will. They have an extremely strict culture of duty and professionalism, with adherence to a code of ethics that binds them to put in extreme effort to every task they do. This pursuit of perfectionism is what usually helps Kromen grow in society as they acknowledged for their efforts and contributions.

In their tribal homes, Kromen are surprisingly extremely class-based bordering on what most outsiders consider racism. In reality their ancient customs span thousands of years, with the strictest of customs arising from the coloration of a Kromen's scale which dictated their worth to Kromen society as a whole. Typically, the brightest scale colorations were considered royalty and risen above the standards of social and societal norms. These brightly-colored Kromen would traditionally live as the leader class, ruling over those under them with strict adherence to an honor-based code of law. Those Kromen fortunate enough to be born with a mildly colorful scale coloration would find themselves living in the middle-class of society, those who worked rewarding professions such as artisans and professors, scientists and writers. This middle-class is considered an important contribution to Kromen society as their contributions furthered the culture and history of those around them.

Kromen that were cursed with a blemished scale coloration, or one with no coloration at all, or a single coloration, would be considered the lower-class of society. These Kromen were traditionally seen as labor, given little in return with wages and placed with demands to maintain the functioning of society from the background of those above them. Traditionally these lower-class Kromen sought jobs in the military to gain some belief of status, only to find themselves commonly utilized as cannon fodder in the pursuit of defending their society. The lower-class is the most numerous class and, not surprisingly, makes up almost the entire percentage of Kromen who choose - or escape to - modern Anagonian society. There they find rewarding equality, something that they lack back in their communities of origin.

Anthropologists and Biologists both agree that the Kromen are directly related to their larger cousins, the Komodren. Studies have shown that the genetic makeup of the Kromen is almost entirely identical to that of the Komodren, minus a few genetic sequences. It is therefore widely believed that at some point within the last hundred-thousand to fifty-thousand years, a tribe of Komodren split off into a secluded environment and evolved into pigmy sized Komodren, which would eventually evolve into what is the modern-day Kromen. This is further supported in the histories of local tribal cultures, which explicitly reference the Komodren as the "grandfather race" or "brother race". Regardless, while Kromen may almost entirely share some resemblance to their larger cousins, they are an entirely different species altogether respectively.

Komodren
Image

The Komodren are considered to be strongest non-human species currently residing within Anagonia. Towering at a typical height of seven feet, they usually weigh anywhere between 250 lbs and 345 lbs and are made up of pure muscle. Despite the ravenous diets of many popular Komodren in Anagonian society, not a single one exhibits the attributes of an overweight individual and never seems to weigh more than 350 lbs. Therefore it is presumed that they have a type of ectomorphic metabolism which permits this evolutionary biological trait. Due to their natural tendency for strength-based occupations, Komodren make excellent front-line soldiers in the Military and in the civilian sector they make excellent manual labor professionals at professions requiring strenuous activities. While some Komodren are found in academic professions, most are seen in shipyards, dockyards, and primarily in construction-based occupations such as road maintenance and demolition. A small but growing portion of Komodren are making the transition into life-saving professions in local communities, such as firefighters, where they make excellent search and rescue professionals who can survive in extreme and dangerous environments to seek out survivors of disasters.

In tribal homes, Komodren are generally laid-back and open to outside tourism. They exhibit a strange mixture of tolerance four curious visitors as well as a casual openness to various intercultural activities. While this laid-back nature is their primary state of being, they are not a lazy people. The Komodren keep quite active in their daily tribal life, farming and assisting with various activities such as construction and maintenance tasks. A large portion of their culture surrounds the celebration and respectfulness of the self, encouraging their people to explore new ways to attain happiness and harmony with their natural and unnatural surroundings. This acceptance of ones pursuit of happiness is believed to be the primary contributor to Komodren entering modern Anagonian society, while in that society it is believed to be responsible for the Komodren's extreme tolerance of interspecies relationships.

The Komodren believe that at one time in their history, the Kromen were just like them. In their oral and written histories, the Komodren speak about a time when their people were divisive and strict. At some point their cultural of tolerance and pursuance of self improvement grew in popularity, resulting in a great divide in their communities. In their culture, this is believed to be the reason that the original Komodren who would eventually become the Kromen leave for far lands. In this light, the Komodren accept the Kromen as brothers and sisters of their people, and it is not uncommon to see intermarrying between the two cultures.

Secretive Non-Human Species
In Anagonian folklore, the Drekamythian Dragon is often referenced as the most secretive and reclusive intelligent species on the continent. Little do common people know that most of these references to the Drekamythian Dragon are in fact references to a mythical, perhaps fictional humanoid race of draconic beings. Termed the "Original Drekamythians", these creatures have been reported in various sightings through-out known history. Yet despite the appearance of other reptilian and mammalian humanoid peoples in modern Anagonian society, not a single proof of reference event has been described to have happened to validate their existence. Instead it is left up to anthropologists and biologists to piece together the tribal histories of the Komodren and Kromen, whom both reference the Original Drekamythian, to describe in some parity their way of life and what they look like.

It is instead widely believed by the paleontological community that at some point within the last eight-thousand years, this rare species of humanoid reptilians died out. Evidence from excavations and remains suggests that they quite possibly did exist, and were resided primarily near Drekamythian Dragon dens as early Anagonians would thousands of years ago. Yet for some reason, very little evidence remains from up to five-thousand years ago, with little to no references in the oral or written recordings of the Komodren or Kromen cultures to explain why. Despite this, rare sightings persist into modern day, though they are typically attributed to misidentifications of either Komodren or Drekamythian Dragons who are either crouching or hiding in foliage.

Drekamythians
Image

No modern Anagonian knows that the Drekamythians quite possibly do exist in their society, nor do they fathom the possible extent of the natural evolutionary capabilities of this extremely reclusive race. If they did, they would be astounded at the number of Drekamythians that coexist with them, though under the guise of other humans or Komodren. Drekamythians were the original inhabitants of the Anagonian continent, having existed and evolved there over the course of hundreds of thousands of years. Originally the prey of the Drekamythian Dragons, the Drekamythians evolved defensive traits to hide themselves in plain sight both from sight and smell, gaining them their natural ability to appear to shapeshift. It is not known whether this ability spoken about in Komodren and Kromen culture is simply a mental projection or an actual, physical ability.

Drekamythians are traditionally of only one scale coloration of dark blue, with slight variations, and are always stated to have magnificent bright red eyes. They are always written or spoken about to have been between 350 lbs to anywhere near 450 lbs, with little to no references of any overweight variations of their kind. They are always described to be as tall as seven to nine feet, though most literary references place them at a solid eight feet in height. Their culture is entirely unknown except for a scant few references in historical literature from the Komodren, which describe them as extremely honor-based and strict to a code of ethics on preserving the natural order of the world. They are also written as the only race, other than humans, to have met an entity much like Melkos Unchanos - though the significance of this is questionable.

Along with the written and oral accounts of their shapeshifting abilities, more numerous is written about their feats of agility and strength - bordering on being supernatural. It is for this reason that anthropologists in particular speculate that the Original Drekamythian is simply the cultural manifestation of what modern Anagonians would interpret as super-heroes. In reality, Drekamythians are an extremely capable species, having evolved numerous traits that do in fact border on super natural which was promoted by their will to evolve and survive the Drekamythian Dragon which constantly hunted them. They are quite capable of jumping twice their height, and their strength surpasses even that of the Komodren. They are even stated in literature to have a napalm-like breath ability which wards of aggressors or clears obstacles. Some literature, in the rarest and most preserved corners of the Komodren and Kroman cultures, speak even about abilities bordering on telekinesis and telepathy.

The sightings of this rare and secretive species are generally believed to be cases of mistaken identity, though it could be presumed to also be a form of entertainment on behalf of Drekamythians as they continue to elude detection despite advances in modern technology.

Confederate Military Defense Conditions

Postby Anagonia » Sun Sep 05, 2021 8:12 pm

Confederate Military Defense and Readiness Conditions

CURRENT STATE OF READINESS:
DEFCON 2
COGCON 2

PRESENT CAUSES OF CONCERN
Cause of Concern #1: Order of Succession Loss
Cause of Concern #2: Assassination of Top Military Leaders / Terrorist Threats

Explanation
The Confederate States Armed Forces utilizes a system of ratings to determine the condition of operational readiness necessary to face specific or unspecified threats against the nation. By utilizing these systems of ratings, the military is able to collaborate effectively across all branches the manpower necessary to combat or face obstacles and threats to the functioning and continuity of society. While it is a general mode of operation that a condition of readiness will span across all branches, in specific and unique situations a condition of readiness may vary across the specific branches of the Armed Forces dependent on the operational capacity necessary to combat a threat or obstacle. Generally, conditions of readiness will always fall in line with the perception of readiness necessary to continue safe and effective operations across all branches of the armed forces, as well as conveying the readiness necessary to effectively produce a desired outcome.

The Confederate States Armed Forces uses two types of readiness conditions, each specific to either military readiness or government preservation. These are the DEFCON (Defense Condition) System for military preparedness and the COGCON (Continuity of Government Readiness Condition) System for the preservation of leadership and government. Explanations for these are listed below.

The DEFCON System
The Confederate States Armed Forces utilizes a Defense Condition System (or DEFCON) similar to that of other major superpowers. There are five(5) levels of readiness in the DEFCON system, each uniquely applied to specific situations and states of readiness necessary to confront a challenge or threat.

DEFCON 5
CODEWORD: DEFCON November Oscar Romeo Mike
EXERCISE TERM: Cold Coffee
DEFCON 5 is the lowest state of readiness for any or all branches of the Confederate States Armed Forces. In this state of readiness, it is assumed that there are absolutely no threats to any part of Anagonian national interests. Military patrols and operations can continue under this state of readiness, however only at a lower state of operational capacity. Intelligence agencies will be utilized for domestic operations only. Orbital and Space-based units will not be utilized for military activities. The nuclear arsenal is on stand-down readiness.

No Reserve Duty units are permitted to be utilized. Partial Active Duty utilization only.

DEFCON 4
