Many thanks to Qasden for the logo

Welcome to the 82nd Cup of Harmony. The Cup of Harmony is lots of things: a consolation tournament for those who missed out on the World Cup finals; a reward for consistent roleplaying during the group stages; an opportunity to compete for an additional trophy; a chance to continue the stories you began in World Cup qualifying or begin the story of the next cycle. Mostly, we hope it’s just a fun tournament that means that, though the battle for World Cup qualification may be over, the chance for roleplaying and rivalry isn’t.

Invitations

Invitations are handed out by the hosts based on roleplaying during World Cup qualifying. They are being sent in batches. In the interests of getting the tournament up and running we have started sending invitations, but teams involved in the playoffs may still be eligible for Cup of Harmony places so the entire field is not confirmed yet. To confirm an invitation simply respond to the telegram you receive. Please try to reply to invitations by the 2nd cutoff for the playoffs, as this will be when we begin finalizing the field.

Rosters

You may post a new roster, including squad and management details, tactical information, kit designs, and any other relevant information, in this thread. By accepting an invitation to this tournament, you are agreeing that if you do not post a new roster, the roster you posted for World Cup qualifying will be used. The hosts will link to that instead and your opponents use it as a basis for their roleplaying.

Style modifiers

You may post a style modifier (±5) with your roster. Please make sure it is clearly visible, preferably as either the first or last line of the post. At any stage of the tournament you may make one change to your style modifier, which you must confirm by TGing the hosts.

Format

Groups A-G will play in Montaña Verde and H-N in The Licentian Isles. The tournament begins with a single round robin group stage. Tiebreakers will be: points, goal difference, head-to-head results, head-to-head goal difference, IC coin toss [simulated using an OOC scorinated game using only RP bonus]. The top two teams from each group and the top four third-placed teams across all groups will proceed to a seeded Round of 32 single elimination bracket.

There will be a cutoff every 48 hours.

Roleplaying permissions

Please make sure you indicate your RP permissions with your roster. Please read and respect other users’ RP permissions, and contact them directly if you are not certain.

Notes on other issues

Discord. NS Sports has a Discord server. However, it is not an official NS function and not all users are members of it. As such, all tournament updates will be posted on the forum.

Etiquette. Any user breaching etiquette by spamming OOC comments, blatantly disregarding others’ RP permissions, engaging in plagiarism, or otherwise breaching NS Sports etiquette, will receive a warning from the hosts. Any user who continues after being warned will have their RP bonus reset to zero.

RP permissions. The hosts strongly encourage all users to, at a minimum, set their ‘Choose goalscorers’ RP permission to Yes.

General restrictions. No user may RP destructive damage to the people or infrastructure of the host nations e.g. stadium collapses. No user may introduce COVID-19 or any such pandemic to the host nations or to other users’ nations.

Everything else. Other than issues to be resolved by NS site moderation staff, or by the World Cup Committee and its Executive, the hosts’ decision will be final on any other issues.

Visiting the Licentian Isles for Cup of Harmony/Cupa na Còrdadh/Beker des Eendrachts 82

The Licentian Isles are a small nation in central Esportiva, home to around 13 million people who live on 6 major islands in the Licentian Channel. The nation is split into four parishes, each of which is named after its largest city: Montfort, Abingdon, Colesham, and St Bart’s. The official languages of the Isles are English, Dutch, and Gaidhlig, with varying usage across the parishes.

The capital of the Licentian Isles, and the largest city, is Montfort, found on the east of the mainland, but it’s unlikely that fans and teams would arrive here directly. If arriving by air, the largest airport is the Abingdon International Aerodrome, just outside the second city of the nation, Abingdon. However, teams will be encouraged to travel to the Isles by sea where possible, with large ports found in Garton Bay, Port Arran, Kirkross, and St Bart’s. While travel will, at least initially, be limited by each group being contained in a single parish, transport by train or ferry will be provided between cities for teams that require it.

The Isles are filled with gorgeous, well-protected areas of environmental beauty, with even the largest cities containing large city parks, and you will never be too far from a forest, glen, or beach. Fans will be able to take advantage of the nation’s natural beauty when they aren’t watching their team of choice compete. That may be through outdoor activities, such as climbing, mountain biking, or watersports, or simply by hiking and taking in the scenery.

The Licentians are a generally friendly people, passionate but welcoming to visitors. When it comes to sports, a Licentian’s passion will show, with chants, flares, and large banners, but the large majority will be just as happy to share a pint of local cider with fans of opposing nations. Some areas are home to larger groups of “casuals” who are more likely to engage in violence, but that more often occurs by arrangement with hooligans from other nations. Wearing your club or country’s colours on a matchday is encouraged, as casuals will be less likely to accost those they consider to be “average fans”.

Civil rights in the Licentian Isles are amongst the highest in the region, with many practices that would be illegal in other more restrictive nations supported in the Isles. Alcohol and marijuana are legal for adults to consume, though the latter is discouraged in public places. Tobacco is available, but under much stricter restrictions, and none of the three can be advertised in view of children. Carrying weapons, such as guns or knives, is forbidden, and the Isles are generally very safe for foreigners to visit. The economy of the Isles is largely built on renewable energy generation and distribution, with pharmaceuticals, fishing, and tourism also major sectors.

Montfort Parish – hosting Groups H and I:

Montfort Parish is the largest of the four parishes by population, a fact that largely results from the size of the capital of the Isles, Montfort. The capital is a friendly city of just over 2,000,000 people, and is home to a number of immigrant populations from across the region and the multiverse. As a result, this is the place that a fan would most likely find food and drinks from their home country. Outside of the capital, Montfort Parish is fairly rural, with much of the remaining 4 million people in the parish living in small towns and villages, except for population centres in Garton Bay, Port Arran, and Saltburn. Garton Bay in particular is famous for its yearly sailing regatta, while Port Arran is home to the Port Arran 7s tournament.

LTI Stadium, Montfort – 75,000 capacity
The national stadium of the Licentian Isles, also home to Montfort Wanderers. This stadium was originally named for Grand Duke Luke Thomas I, one of the last grand dukes of the Licentian Isles, though the branding of the stadium has been somewhat distanced from that fact since the dissolution of the monarchy. It is one of the only all-seater stadiums in the nation. It can be found in the centre of Montfort, built into a hillside, meaning that fans will enter at the stadium’s middle tier.

MD2 – HUElavia vs Nyowani Kitara
MD3 – Brookstation vs HUElavia
First Knockout Round
Second Knockout Round
Final

The Anchor, Garton Bay – 22,500 capacity
Home to Garton Bay Pirates. As if the name wasn’t enough, the original Anchor was originally built with one stand of the stadium being a ship berthed in the harbour of the town of Garton Bay. The name remained when the Pirates moved to a new stadium, though there are still considerations for the history of the area. Given the stadium’s perfect placing on the bay, the south stand is temporary during the football season, and is removed around the time of the Regatta so that the stadium can be used to view the sailing.

Hosting:
MD1 – Nyowani Kitara vs Brookstation
MD2 – Valentine Z vs Brookstation
MD3 – Nyowani Kitara vs Valentine Z

Adamson Park, Montfort – 55,000 capacity
Home to SC Montfort. The second largest stadium in the capital, this is a far different stadium to the bowl-like LTI. It’s a mish-mash of stands designed at different times as SC developed into a larger club, resulting in wildly different sizes for each stand, and a tunnel at one corner of the stadium (rare in the Isles). The stadium’s seating is royal blue, though different shades depending on how long each particular stand has been in existence

Hosting:
MD1 – Trolleborg vs the Cordian Isles
MD2 – Trolleborg vs Eraman
MD3 – Astograth vs Trolleborg
First Knockout Round

Grayson Stadium, Port Arran – 38,000 capacity
Home to Port Arran. While this stadium does host the football team from the Montfort Parish Senior League, it is more well-known for hosting the rugby team from the town of Port Arran, along with the famous Port Arran 7s. It’s one of a number of multi-use stadiums that will be used to host the Cup of Harmony, and another in Montfort Parish found by a harbour, much like the Anchor in Garton Bay.

Hosting:
MD1 – Eraman vs Astograth
MD2 – The Cordian Isles vs Astograth
MD3 – Eraman vs the Cordian Isles

Abingdon Parish – hosting Groups J and K:

Abingdon Parish is home to much of the strong Gaelic influence in the Isles. Places like Abingdon and Glenmount still have strong influence from the original settlers of the Isles, which has been greatly helped by the revival of the Gaidhlig language, seen in names of both people and places. This parish is also the most beautiful on the mainland, with the rolling hills around Glenmount and Mossybank, and the River Arran that runs through much of the parish before crossing into Montfort Parish.

Gardiner-Stewart Stadium, Abingdon – 62,000 capacity
Home to Abingdon Celtic. This stadium was named for legendary Celtic keeper Alex Gardiner-Stewart when he was believed to be dead after a plane crash in the early stages of his career. It’s located in the heart of Abingdon’s trendy west end, though it is well connected to the centre of the city as well. The most notable feature of the stadium itself is the large sections of safe standing at each end of the ground: while this is common in the Isles, these are the largest in the nation.

Hosting:
MD1 – Mercedini vs the Alezian Union
MD2 – Mercedini vs New Lusitania
MD3 – Acastanha vs Mercedini
First Knockout Round
Second Knockout Round
Semi Final

Market Street, Glenmount – 19,500 capacity
Home to Glenmount Town. Found in the centre of the second largest town in Abingdon Parish, Glenmount, Market Street stadium is named for the street that it sits on, with the community hall next door playing host to one of the largest markets in the parish. Perhaps unsurprisingly given that we’re focussing on those facts, Glenmount is not a hugely interesting place. It’s most famous for the club that plays at Market Street, and for the mountains and glens that surround the town: of course, with those being outside the town, they don’t really count. I’m not helping Glenmount’s case.

Hosting:
MD1 – New Lusitania vs Acastanha
MD2 – The Alezian Union vs Acastanha
MD3 – New Lusitania vs the Alezian Union

Coliseum of the Gaels, Abingdon – 42,000 capacity
Home to Gaelic Club. The Coliseum, in the east end of Abingdon, is a stadium with a reputation for the rowdy crowd that support the Gaels. It is regularly filled with fans singing in Gaidhlig, waving banners, and lighting flares: during international tournaments, it will likely be slightly calmer than usual, which will be a strange sight for fans of Licentian football. It will still be a fantastic venue, as the shape of the stands is designed to echo crowd noise onto the pitch, so players will have a difficult time blocking out the opposition’s fans.

Hosting:
MD1 – Poafmersia vs República Guanacasteca
MD2 – Poafmersia vs Eshialand
MD3 – Legalese vs Poafmersia
First Knockout Round

Burnside, Stonehouse – 16,500 capacity
Home to Stonehouse Athletic. This is one of the smaller stadiums hosting matches in the Cup of Harmony, found in the town of Stonehouse not far from the border between Abingdon and Colesham. This stadium’s name, Burnside, is perhaps an understatement of the size of waterway that the ground sits alongside: the River Till runs through the town into Colesham Parish. As such, many fans will be able to enjoy a relaxing time either before or after the fixtures at this stadium.

Hosting:
MD1 – Eshialand vs Legalese
MD2 – República Guanacasteca vs Legalese
MD3 – Eshialand vs República Guanacasteca

St Bart’s Parish – Hosting Groups L and M:

St Bart’s Parish is made up of the outlying islands of the nation, with the five major islands being St Bart’s, St Thomas, St Ninian’s, St Marnock’s, and Hessington. As you would perhaps expect, this is a rather diverse parish with one of the largest Dutch populations in the nation, and large cities like St Bart’s contrasted with sparsely populated islands like St Marnock’s. Fans will be watching matches on the three most westerly islands, but travel to the latter two, St Marnock’s and Hessington, will be encouraged, with fans able to take in the motorsport history of the Isles in the town of Buckhaven on Hessington.

St Bart’s Oval, St Bart’s – 50,500 capacity
Home to St Bart’s United. This is certainly one of the strangest stadiums on the Isles, as it was originally built as a cricket ground for the parish. As such, plenty of the seating will be a fair distance from the action, but for football a number of stands are installed on the outfield, and some of the further seating is covered over as the sightlines are blocked. Nonetheless, watching football from the slopes that surround the cricket ground is still a unique experience to the city of St Bart’s.

Hosting:
MD1 – Independent Athletes from Quebec vs Kyzhurkistan
MD2 – Independent Athletes from Quebec vs Oberour Ar Moro
MD3 – Sendhang vs Independent Athletes from Quebec
First Knockout Round
Second Knockout Round
Quarter Final

Recreation Ground, St Thomas – 23,250 capacity
Home to St Thomas. This ground was greatly expanded to coincide with both the 30th Campionato and with St Thomas winning the Premier League for the first time in their history, with another expansion coming in time for the Cup of Harmony. The city of St Thomas is named confusingly, being on the island of the same name, but fans will not have to worry about visiting another city on the island, so they can remain in the city itself and take in many of its highly rated restaurants, along with enjoying the local ciders that are prominent here.

Hosting:
MD1 – Oberour Ar Moro vs Sendhang
MD2 – Kyzhurkistan vs Sendhang
MD3 – Oberour Ar Moro vs Kyzhurkistan

St Ninian’s Athletic Ground, Rafford – 39,000 capacity
Home to Rafford Town. Much like the Oval, the Athletic Ground was originally designed as a stadium for a different sport, as can be seen from the running track on the edge of the pitch. The second largest stadium in the parish, it also plays host to a second tier team, though they share it with St Ninian’s rugby club and Licentian Athletics. The town of Rafford is close to Lake Rafford, one of the most popular tourism destinations in the nation.

Hosting:
MD1 – Omerica vs Wreckeria
MD2 – Omerica vs Valladares
MD3 – Pluvia and the Saxean Isles vs Omerica
First Knockout Round

Abbey Road, St Bart’s – 18,500 capacity
Home to St Bart’s Dutch. The second largest stadium in the parish capital, the neighbourhood that surrounds this stadium is the largest Dutch community in the city, and as such visiting fans are much more likely to hear that language than the English that is more prevalent throughout the Isles. The stadium itself is fairly standard in construction, but is another that is close to the coast, so players and fans will have to deal with a strong sea breeze during matches.

Hosting:
MD1 – Valladares vs Pluvia and the Saxean Isles
MD2 – Wreckeria vs Pluvia and the Saxean Isles
MD3 – Valladares vs Wreckeria

Colesham Parish – hosting Group N:

This is the more industrial, working class part of the Licentian Isles, and is the smallest parish (though only slightly smaller than St Bart’s Parish). That shouldn’t make you think that it’s less beautiful though. While the cities, like Colesham and Farnworth, are filled with pharmaceutical plants and seafood packing facilities, the rural areas (and there are many) are still filled with gorgeous natural beauty. As the smallest parish, Colesham will be hosting less games in this tournament than other parishes, but the welcome will be just as friendly.

Barton Software Arena, Colesham – 47,000 capacity
Home to Colesham Athletic. This is a stadium that was once incredibly modern, built with the support of Daniel Barton Sr and his tech company, but has aged, especially with Colesham Athletic spending an extended period in the second tier of Licentian football. Nonetheless, it is still the largest stadium in the parish, and with Athletic returning to the Premier League it’s been revamped prior to the Cup of Harmony.

Hosting:
MD1 – South Newlandia vs Kimi-Suomi
MD2 – South Newlandia vs Barunia
MD3 – Schima Bas vs South Newlandia
First Knockout Round
Second Knockout Round
Quarter Final

Farnworth Municipal Stadium, Farnworth – 36,000 capacity
Home to AFC Farnworth. The Municipal Stadium was rebuilt at the height of Farnworth’s successes, and is now probably a bit too large for the club after they fell from grace. They are growing once again, but the stadium is still in its slightly aged state, though not nearly as aged as the Barton Software Arena. It has received a fresh lick of paint, but that won’t make up for the outdated concourses: fans will be waiting a while for their cider.

Hosting:
MD1 – Barunia vs Schima Bas
MD2 – Kimi-Suomi vs Schima Bas
MD3 – Barunia vs Kimi-Suomi
First Knockout Round

A vibrant and well diversified economy. Civil and political rights guaranteed by the rule of law and administered through competent institutions of state and society. A wide variety of safe and well regulated recreational activities, from clean and healthy eating to comfortable accommodations. A friendly and welcoming population who’ll meet visitors with a smile and a wave. Large, modern, well appointed stadiums and training facilities.

Anyway, enough about Las Islas Licenciosas.

¡Bienvenido a Montaña Verde!

Upon arrival at the Aeropuerto Internacional de Montatina, Santa Margarita, the first thing many visitors will see is the beautiful bay view over the harbor, which is fortunate as it tends to distract from the fact that the airport terminal is in rubble. A tragic casualty of the civil war that has blighted the Rainforest Republic in recent years, the shelled-out building is a potent reminder of all that has been lost. Except for scrap metal dealers. Air travellers may find many of the small private airfields dotted around the country more efficient, providing they are not currently being used by cartels and/or private military companies. Travel by sea is also an option, with daily ferries arriving in the Santa Margarita port. Lucky seagoers might think they even glimpse a pod of dolphins on their way in! (They’re actually narcosubmarines, but still.) Overland llama caravans may be the slower option, but for the dedicated traveller there’s no better way to experience the native country.

Arrival by helicopter ride is not recommended.

However you arrive, once on Verdean soil you will need your ID papers. This is a minor bureaucratic necessity; under the benevolent Presidenta Jazmín Santángel Hurtado, ID papers merely exist to promote greater social harmony and ensure the security of the state, and the special insignia attached to the papers of all former regime supporters are in no way a cause for alarm. You may also be tempted to exchange your Universal Standard Dollars for pesos. Be very careful, as the disruption caused by the civil war has led to a notable uptick in counterfeiting. Look out for notes featuring smudged ink, poor quality design, and obvious typographical errors; anything else is likely to be a forgery.

In most cases, buses will be the cheapest and most efficient means of travelling around the country. Only Santa Margarita has an intra-city rail service, whose timetable is highly recommended to those wanting to sample some native Verdean comedy. Private car hire is an option for those willing to spend a little more money. The ride-sharing app Fubar is popular and there are occasional violent clashes with members of the Taxi Drivers’ Union, but for a cunning tourist there’s an opportunity to negotiate a better price! A similar spirit of entrepreneurship has entered the accommodation market thanks to the AeroByB app. Everyone wants to be a landlord! Which, given what’s coming down the political pipeline, is a deeply unfortunate career choice… but for now enjoy the low low prices! Or you can seek out a more traditional experience at an EcoñoHotel, the government-run budget chain.

There’s much to enjoy in Montaña Verde, whether it’s whale watching on the coast (an experience significantly improved now that Græntfjaller whalers have left the waters) or enjoying a sunny day on the beach; or exploring the rainforests on a guided tour (unescorted foreigners are advised not to venture into jungles that can contain dangerous animals, poisonous plants, pro-government militias, anti-government militias, and militias that haven’t quite made their mind up about the government yet). The Verdean Andes are a significant trek away from any of the host cities but are an option for those wanting to break up their trip with scenic mountaintop views. Verdean cuisine is rich and varied, from fried plantains and corn cakes to chicharrón and chorizo, and you can’t leave without trying a famous Verdean banana, which is the country’s biggest agricultural export! Well, second biggest… Recent cartel activity should not be a concern for visitors, and the major narcotraficantes are as keen for the tournament to be a success as anyone, with some even sponsoring stadiums and paying organizational costs for the tournament.

Montaña Verde has fourteen grounds that meet official international standards, conveniently found in seven pairs. Three pairs are located in the capital of Santa Margarita (La Cerida, a working-class industrial neighborhood; Yaririo, a heavily diverse neighborhood with a bustling fish market; and Tamramerín, the ceremonial central district with many of the major administrative buildings); as well as one in the coastal city of Medemenia, another in the religious city of Cotata further west amid the foothills of the mountains, one in Rocalaro, which is a little way to the south, among the cattle plains, and one in Valerigua, another coastal city, but further east with a more humid, jungle climate.

Other Note:
As noted below, everything is a bit weird in Legalese right now. Feel free to ignore and just take the team on their face -- a bunch of youth players that are just trying to make it through a tournament together.

About Legalese (we think)

Legalese is an emerging wayward nation in Atlantian OceaniaAnaia. Situated along Lake Bekk, it is bordered by Starblaydia to the north, The Allied States of the Lowland ClansLake Bekk to the west, and Casari Audioslavia across the water to the east. Over the past two decadescountless number of years, the nation has worked to build a place in the soccer-playing community. Since joining the World Cup in time for the eighteenth version, the Legalites have neared glory on the pitch twice thrice, and even won a both in theCup of Harmony. Off the pitch, Legalese has now co-hosted both a multiple World Cups and a Cup of Harmony; amazing feats coming from the Committee chaired by a man that sent a bunch of kids to The Jurassic Invitational Tournament; however, twelve years later, even that mistake may well pay off. What the future holds, however, is quite uncertain.

Full Nation Name: The Judicial Republic of Legalese
Short/Common Use Name: Legalese
Three-Letter Designation: LGL
Denonym: Legalite

Legalese National Team Roster for the 23rd World Cup Cycle 82nd Cup of Harmony

Keepers:
1 Timmy Thompson, Age 17. Started for the Sunny B. Martin Wombats in the Jurassic Invite. The sheets (on the pitch, at least) still typically remain clean.
6 Lynn Kawaguchi, Age 16 1/2- Sister of Kerry Kawaguchi. She gave up ballet for soccer, and so far, it’s panning out. She tends to move more out of the goal than her teammates, playing more like a Sweeper Keeper -- which can work somewhat to her advantage, albeit with some risk.

Defense:
3 Mindy "Mad Dog" Dobbers, Age 18 - Dobbers’ hard-nosed style can get her in trouble on the pitch, though she’s worked to reform it a little from her days at Sunny B. Martin.
12 Vito Torrelli, Age 18 - Gonna score when Vito's on the field? Fagheddaboutit! (Ed. note: If you’re a world-class footballer, you should probably not forget about it).
16 Toni Torrelli, Age 16- She’s still on the short side, but Toni resisted the move to midfield, insisting her speed and mentality would serve her well as a wing back.
2 Marion Jay, Age 17- Fine with being called Mary on occasion.
8 Nick Henderson, Age 18 - Still a sub, still super.

Midfield:
10 Imran Kurbahti, Age 19 - When slotted up high in the midfield, his tendency is to shoot, and the defense’s tendency is to flinch.
7 Imir Kurbahti, Age 17 - Imran's little bro is about finess and trickiness. Makes a banana kick look straight.
11 Pedro "el Toro" Vasquez, Age It's complicated- El Toro is the goalscorer and the playmaker. It's almost like he's been doing this forever, through all of time (OOC: This may prove important).
21 Cliff Coleman, Age 18 - Typically makes his impact off the bench, particularly when a little more defense and possession is needed.

Forwards:
9 Willie Masterson, Age 17 - The nephew of a former national teamer and from a family that’s admittedly pretty well-to-do, one could accuse Willie of coasting on his family legacy; alas, they would be wrong -- he went with “Willie” instead of Bill for a reason.
12 Kerry Kawaguchi, Age 19 - Precision is his aim (an aim that’s pretty good). Tends to take a bit off the ball, but still enough to get it through.
4 Mike Clayton, Age 16 - They say that speed kills; that’d doubly true when it seems like you can do this all day. Needs to work on his touch, however.
5 Arturo Aubry, Age 25 - one of the elder players kept around; Aubry didn’t see much action in the previous World Cup, but can be a reliable option as needed.

The Eleven/Playing Style
Image

The main thrust of this team is to harass, annoy, and make possession an unpleasant experience. You could call it “pressing”, but it’s really just a bunch of kids who have been playing together since they were toddlers, playing with a level of familiarity that makes them more formidable than they should be -- though certainly beatable.

Style: 1.75
Formation: 4-4-2

Injure Players: N
Godmod Injury Events: N

Yellow Card Players: Y (same rule as red cards)

=================================

Manager: Nathan Hanifer
The former manager of Sarzonia's Under 21 national team, Hanifer was the other finalist for the Stars managerial role. He assumed the assistancy at the request of Mentes and was named interim manager after Mentes was fired.
Assistant Manager: Eric Dent
Dent will serve as a de facto defensive coordinator for the Stars, and will work primarily with the defence and the defensive midfielders.
Assistant Manager: Brady Reynolds
Reynolds comes back to the Stars as an assistant manager after serving as a colour analyst. He played for the Stars from qualifying for World Cups 84-86 and World Cup 88.

HOME GROUND: Dave Wilson Stadium, Woodstock (105,690 capacity, natural grass field); alternate home ground i Joe Gibbs Stadium in Woodstock (75,900 capacity)

Roster (Starters in bold)

GOALKEEPERS
1 Carlton Sandt, 22, 6-foot-3, 215 pounds (Lakiska SC, Banijan Soccer League)
Sandt is the younger brother of legendary Stars goalkeeper Horace Sandt. He won the starting job for the Wanderers as a true freshman and led a previously downtrodden side to the national semifinals. He has catlike reflexes and is quick off his line. Can get too aggressive.
33 Trent Woodson, 27, 5-foot-11, 170 pounds (Saugerties Snakes)
Woodson becomes the backup while Paolo Gomes is recovering from a torn ACL. He has a decent mix of size and agility.
30 Paolo Gomes, 31, 5-foot-9, 165 pounds (Portland Timbers)
Gomes recently migrated to Sarzonia and earned a spot on the Stars national team with his quickness in the box. Plays a lot on instinct. Trying to come back after tearing an ACL during the opening match of World Cup 88 qualifying.

DEFENDERS
4 Charlie King, 28, 5-foot-11, 155 pounds (Saugerties Snakes)
King plays as a defensive-oriented fullback, often marking the opposing team's top striker. He relies more on positioning and reading his opponent's tendencies and body language to figure out where to run than on speed. He's not exactly a burner.
5 Tommy Benignati, 32, 6-foot-2, 200 pounds (Wilmington FC)
The older brother of Marco Beningnati, Tommy plays a much more rugged style than Marco does. Can play sweeper in a three-back lineup.
7 Matt Taylor, 27, 6-feet, 185 pounds (Burlington Browns)
Taylor's speed lends itself to being a fullback, but he plays halfback for the Browns. He has a tendency to struggle with more physical forwards and offensive midfielders.
6 John Taylor, 22, 5-foot-10, 175 pounds, Portsmouth University
The younger twin brother of Under 21 national team player Carlette Taylor, John plays a similar style to his sister's, although with much more speed.
18 Ben Russell, 33, 6-foot-1, 190 pounds, Rochester Renegades
In his first season as team captain of the Renegades, he led the team to a Sarzonian Football Confederation championship, resulting in the team's promotion to the Cyanea League. If he's on the pitch in the event Howard gets subbed for, he will don the captain's armband. He is a reserve halfback for the Stars.
22 Carmela Bowen, 30, 5-foot-8, 145 pounds, Woodstock Justice
Brown plays fullback for the Justice, a Sarzonian women's football team, and typically marks whomever the playmaking midfielder is. Her stamina earned her a spot on the national team.
44 Pat Meyers, 24, 5-foot-8, 152 pounds, unaffiliated
Meyers won a lawsuit against the Portland Timbers third division affiliate when the team dismissed them after successfully proving the club released them due to their gender non-conforming status

MIDFIELDERS
8 Ernie Mabree, 28, 5-foot-10, 175 pounds (FC Corcorran)
Mabree has one of the better left-booted shots in the Sarzonian league structure and is one of the fastest players in Sarzonia. He'll play an important role in Sarzonia's offence.
10 Clayton Wilson, 23, 5-foot-10, 170 pounds, (Woodstock Wild) Captain
A grandson of legendary Stars forward Brian Wilson and great-grandson of coach Dave Wilson, Clayton is not just a fourth generation star among the Stars, he served as the playmaker for the Under 21 Stars and is a sterling wing player on the Wild.
18 Carlos dos Santos, 27, 5-foot-11, 175 pounds (Woodstock Wild)
A right wing player, he will sometimes be called upon to take free kicks if Reynolds is unable to for some reason.
23 Jaxon Hennepin, 28, 5-foot-7, 155 pounds (Wilmington FC)
Hennepin earned a starting role as a playmaking midfielder for WIlmington, but also played half a season in defensive midfield when the team was beset with injuries.
30 Erik Swann, 25, 5-foot-11, 175 pounds (Portland Timbers)
Swann's strength is being a late-match offensive substitute who can score in a pinch.
14 Winnie Taunton, 27, 5-foot-9, 150 pounds
Taunton takes a majority of the penalties on the women's national team and produces blinding speed on the wings.

FORWARDS
21 Jake Campos, 23 6-foot-3, 210 pounds, (Portland Timbers)
Campos is a straight up target player in the front line. His leaping ability makes him a prime candidate for headers in the box off corner kicks and indirect free kicks. He played on the Junior Stars team that competed in the most recent AOCAF.
19 Holly Cambrio, 28, 5-foot-7, 145 pounds (Woodstock Justice)
Cambrio adds flair and ball movement skill and the ability to serve as a sparkplug off the bench, but would be a starter for a women's national team if that competition got resurrected.
41 Carly Wilcox, 22, 5-foot-11, 175 pounds (Woodstock Wild reserves)
Wilcox retained her place on the Wild's reserve squad and made eight appearances and six starts after her transition.

[OOC: I've cleared this storyline with MV/Graint since MV has had limited hosting experience ICly. I know OOCly he's extremely capable as a host, but my characters don't know this; therefore, here we go.]

To say the meeting between the Board of Governors and Incorporated Football Federation Chairman Zack Wilson was getting heated would be a massive understatement.

The meeting devolved into a shouting match with fists pounding on tables, glares across the table, security being on hot standby, and even calls to disband the IFF.

The reason? Montaña Verde and The Licentian Isles were tapped to serve as Cup of Harmony co-hosts. Now, The Licentian Isles had some familiarity for Wilson and some of the members of the IFF Board of Governors because Licentia hosted the 16th edition of the World Lacrosse Championships, which was Sarzonia's final title in that sport before The Long Isolation, the third extended period of isolation where Sarzonia left the international athletic scene behind. Even though Zack Wilson was a player on the Sarzonian national football team at the time, he remembered that Licentia's hosting effort was smooth.

"Licentia has hosted an international event that we've participated in before," Wilson said in a moment where he chose to provide feedback during the discussions about the invitation the Licentian football association had just sent the Sarzonian team to take part in the Cup of Harmony. "I'm not all that familiar with lacrosse, but as I understand it from people who are, they did a fine job of hosting." The lax Stars defeated neighbours Delaclava in the final 14-8 to capture their fifth championship, then further distancing themselves as the greatest lacrosse-playing nation of all time. During the period of isolation, no one had caught the Stars. It wasn't until Sarzonia returned from isolation to play lacrosse that Abanhfleft matched, then surpassed Sarzonia's five titles with their sixth. Fortunately for Stars supporters, Jordan Helms and company took the lead back and extended it with their eighth title in the most recent championships.

"As for Montaña Verde, well..." technical director Chris Parsons said as the IFF Board insisted that he be in the meeting. "They haven't had much experience hosting," he said before Board member Jeffrey Lang cut him off.

"They haven't had ANY experience," he snapped. "What the hell are you talking about? They haven't hosted shit that I'm aware of."

"That's rather inappropriate language," Parsons said, knowing full well that would get a rise out of Lang, who predictably blew a gasket.

"You have a lot of Goddamn nerve talking about my language, Parsons!" he said. "I have every mind to fire you right fucking now."

"Jeff," Vice Chairman and Chief Operating Officer Lester Barnham said. "May I remind you of the rules.

"Les, shut up about the rules."

"JEFF!" Wilson snapped. "That's enough!"

"Zack, butt out!"

"No," Wilson said, adding more edge to his voice than usual. "Don't make me invoke my authority to call for Rule One."

"On what grounds, Zack?!" Lang said. "Because I used profanity? Ooh, are your virgin ears so sensitive you can't handle a little bit of cursing? How'd you ever make it as a football player? Oh right. You never won a World Cup."

"I said THAT'S ENOUGH!" Wilson shouted. "I have the authority under Rule One to compel your resignation and if you continue to disrespect me or anyone else in this room right now, I'm invoking it. Now sit down and shut up!"

Barnham looked at Wilson and said, "Perhaps we should call a recess."

"Not until we make this decision on whether to accept the invitation."

"I think," Board Member Jacinda Reese said, "that we should note our objections regarding Montaña Verde being chosen as a co-host to the World Cup Committee. It's clear that Montaña Verde have not had the level of experience we're looking for as a host of one of the most prestigious football tournaments in the multiverse."

"But if we send the team there, we'll be tacitly endorsing an inexperienced host," Lang said. "I think we send a stronger message by declining to send a team to the Cup of Harmony."

"That's where I think we need to leave it up to the football team to decide if they want to compete," Board Member Melissa Tresequet said.

"You know they're going to say yes regardless," Board Member David Horton said. "If we don't send them, we send a strong message to the WCC that their decision to entrust the Cup of Harmony to an inexperienced host nation is unsound."

Six hours into the session including two breaks, one to allow calmer heads to prevail and one for dinner since all sides involved had missed their lunch, the vote was finally in. Six members voted in favour of accepting the bid with objections. Six voted against. That left the decision to Wilson, and he decided he was going to give his reasons for his vote.

"Pursuant to the bylaws of the Incorporated Football Federation Board of Governors, as its chairman, I have the prerogative to cast the deciding vote should any vote be level," he began. "I will do so now. Before I announce my vote, however, I must address the unacceptable behaviour of Mr. Lang earlier today. Mr. Lang, your objections to the host vote by the World Cup Committee have been noted, and upon my decision in this matter, we will send a letter notifying the WCC of our strenuous objections to the decision to choose Montaña Verde as a co-host along with The Licentian Isles. However, your blatant disrespect of Mr. Parsons, Mr. Barnham, and me cannot and shall not be tolerated. Therefore, under the powers vested in me by Rule One, I am compelling you to tender your resignation from the Board of Governors to take immediate effect.

"It is perfectly fine to have differing opinions," Wilson continued. It is acceptable to have strong opinions and to express them firmly in a constructive manner," he added. "However, showing disrespect the way you did today is not acceptable, and therefore, it costs you a position on the Board of Governors moving forward. I've already contacted security. They will be by shortly to escort you out of the building. Your key fob and PIV card have been deactivated by security." Almost as if on cue, two burly security guards walked into the room. Rather than create a scene that would require the two men to roughly force Lang out of the room and the building, he simply stood up and walked out with the two men flanking him.

"Now that that's out of the way," Wilson said, "I hereby cast the deciding vote in favour of accepting the Cup of Harmony bid in spite of our objections. Many of the best host nations in the sporting multiverse had to start somewhere. Sometimes, we just have to take a leap of faith. That's what I'm choosing to do here."

With that vote of 7 to 6, Sarzonia opted to send the Stars to the Cup of Harmony with one key addition to the team: A goalkeeper fighting to return to form after a torn anterior cruciate ligament in Paolo Gomes.

Roster Info

The manager for this Cup of Harmony is Kadyr Chinbayev. His nomination was some sort of consensus figure, in that none of the big figures within the FA had an explicit veto against him whilst he is not considered as a complete moron by the outer world. Chinbayev is known as a limited tactician but possesses decent man management. It paid off, doing a good job in the qualifiers with the Tigers, after the national animal and the red-yellow-black striped outfits. Despite eventually ending in the middle of the pack, Kyzhurkistan was in contention till the last day and got some memorable victories against Darmen and Jeruselem. Right now, they hope to add another scalp.

For the tournament, the original list was expanded to twenty-three. As such, the expansion list, usually used in case of injury or suspension, will not be used. In general, Chinbayev is highly loyal to his line-up. The squad numbers one to eleven indicate the regular starters. Any bench player that gets started will take over the squad number from the player he replaces.

Style Guide

Chinbayev opts for a fairly classic diamond 4-4-2 with some room for the wingbacks. If one of both Maksutov or Kazakov makes an offensive movement, you can expect Atabaev to take his place and one of the other midfielders to fall back to ensure that at any given time, there are at least four players to ensure a defensive block. This is something the about twenty thousand fans in the fairly modern Topbati Arena in Kartash usually can appreciate.

Kyzhurkistani football tends to be fairly slow and lacks physical strength. Defenders are more often than not technically limited, although the selection deals with that properly. The average Kyzhurki is not tall, with 1m91 Kharimov the outlier - all other field players don’t make 1m85. They usually compensate for that through good stamina and focussing on over the ground passing. Although fairplay is appreciated and held in high regard, the selection has a few notable exceptions in known diver Umarov and the enigma Halikov - a monumental timewaster, actor and grabbing-the-ball-in-the-air-with-one-foot-forward’er.

Line-up Notes

Apart from being a horrible person on the pitch, Chyngyz Halikov also is an extremely reliable goalkeeper and important figure in the group. He can obviously be beaten, but gaffes are very rare. His guidance should give the back four some structure. Mamataliev and Satybaldiev are both reliable for their club but there are questions on their compatibility. And in all fairness, they’re just decent and we lack better alternatives. On the wings, there is more talent with the rushes from Kazakov being a dangerous weapon for reigning champion Dinamo Zhachek.

One row up front, the team is built around a Topbati duo: Atabaev is a calm, composed and level-headed defensive midfielder who does the dirty work for local diva Mirbek Zhuraev. By all accounts the most talented player on the squad, true to the number ten shirt in style, but difficult to guide tactically. This gets compensated by the hardworking, simple-but-efficient Omorov and the short passer Shamshiev.

Attokur Rakhimov will be the name which is fed to opposing defenders as the one to watch. He is tall, powerful, decisive and if his hamstrings keep hold, he should walk out of this campaign as our national topscorer. To balance him out, the shorter, mobile Sarybaev gets to roam the space created by the big hitter in the hope he can use his poaching capacities, shooting from any angle.

RP injuries to my players: Y

The Patapsco Courant

Snakes address future

From Staff Reports

The first World Cup qualifying campaign for the Solderan national football team closed as expected with Soldera failing to qualify for the proper.

As one of four teams carrying the 236th rank in the football-playing multiverse, qualifying in their first attempt was always going to be a monumental ask.

Soldera finished qualifying in sixth place out of eight teams in Group 10 with a record of 5-3-6 and 18 points. Remarkably, however, they finished just six points behind Ochre Island for the playoff position from the group. Even more remarkable, the Snakes finished the 14-game qualifying campaign with a positive goal differential of plus-three. They earned the positive finish with a 1-0 victory at Kyzhurkistan that prevented that team from finishing in third place, just one point off the playoff position earned by Ochre Islands.

They did all that despite losing defender Eli Bingham to a torn anterior cruciate ligament. They would learn that Bingham faced complications from the surgery and would likely miss "significant" time according to team physician Dr. Noah Westcott. He wasn't present for the surgery, but Joyce Indigo-Westcott, a nurse practitioner and Dr. Westcott's wife, was present. An attorney for the Westcotts said Bingham would likely sue the attending physician Dr. Greg Anderson for medical malpractice related to an infection Bingham suffered during surgery. Bingham likely faces additional surgeries with the goal being to preserve his leg and allow him to live as close to a normal life as possible.

"It's not like we have Delaclav facilities here," said a staff person at the hospital where Bingham had surgery. "That said, I think Dr. Anderson could be in big trouble." The staffer spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak for the hospital. Hospital Administrator Dr. Candace Thompson referred inquiries to the hospital's legal counsel. The hospital's legal department did not reply to several calls and emails by the time The Patapsco Courant went to press.

Meanwhile, the Snakes notched 24 goals for and allowed 21 goals to finish with that plus-three goal differential. Manager Norm Carricker said he was "pleasantly surprised" to have received a Cup of Harmony invitation.

"Yeah, I'm very much pleasantly surprised," he said. "I wasn't expecting us to play football outside of World Cup qualifiers until we got to regionals in the Copa Rushmori," he said. "The fact event organizers invited us is a very good sign. I'm very happy we're going to get a chance to continue to compete."

Davis Perez stepped into the starting lineup with the injury to Bingham and was able to log a full 90-minute match for the first time in the victory over Kyzhurkistan. Perez announced he was retiring from football after the Cup of Harmony.

"I'm 33 years old," he said. "Joey [Westway, midfielder and captain] is retiring. He's 35. I don't know how much more I have left in the tank."

The Snakes have been a very young side, but they expect the experience they've earned in World Cup qualifying and the Cup of Harmony will only help them in the future.

"I think we're going to do a lot better with this experience we've gotten," goalkeeper George Rollings said. "It can only help us down the road."

Federación de Fútbol de la República Guanacasteca

Image

About República Guanacasteca: Unformally known as Guanacasteca, a word coming from the indigenous Huétar language “Place with abundance of ear-shaped trees”, the ear-shaped also is a nickname due to the fruit that said three produces. This Republic is located on the tropics of Rushmore, a zone with a pleasant weather all year-round that is composed by remnants of older civilizations that were left forgotten and decided to learn foreign languages and traditions in shame of their own culture.

It might sound harsh, but some people of the tribal alliance we know as Guanacasteca decided to venture into neighboring nations, learned some customs and decided to import those to the region they have been living for centuries. This process provoked some instability among the borders of the modern-day republic, creating two well-differentiated zones that decided to gather forces in order to survive into what they considered to be a “rather volatile” region. Currently, Guanacasteca is living its 200th anniversary of formation (2021), after spending a turbulent history that has, somehow, forged what this nation is until today.

For more understanding, its needed to go back to the days of the foundation, specifically to 1841, where the more traditionally leaning Northern Half of Guanacasteca decided to learn to a more conservative government in fears of having a turmoil that would cause disruption into the accommodated elite of the new nation. Said threats were coming from the Southern Half of the Republic, a zone that has always leaned towards a more progressive ideal of life, aiming for wealth redistribution and equality rather than the privileges that the Northerners desired to keep. This divide caused turbulence during most of the century, where the government changed hands at least ten times.

Those government changes were pacific or bloody at times. The bloodiest of those times was at 1854, when the Progressive Party of Guanacasteca suffered a coup from the Conservative Party elite, in a complot with a random group of pirates who visited Guanacasteca frequently in order to exchange goods, specially tabaco and bananas for other nations. The pirates were frustrated on how the Progressives were boycotting their illegal trade via blockades or alliances with neighboring nations trying to eradicate that undesired practice. The pirate led offensive ended in a purge of the government, killing Manuel Otero González, a president known for reforming several key aspects of Guanacasteca that still continue to be present on the Constitution, since those were stony clauses, some of those hindered the desires of the elite of the Republic and forces them to pay high taxes each year as a way of wealth redistribution.

That mindset divide has marked the existence of this Republic for its entire history, being a key to understand what happens in the nation, not only in terms of politics but also including essential aspects of life such as life standards, expectancy, income, wealth, etc. The Northern Half of the República Guanacasteca has been mostly focused into agrarian-related activities, more dependent on strength and also boasts a highly militarist ideal when it comes to try imposing what they do to the Southern Half. Meanwhile, the Southern side is a more open-minded place, which boasts higher life standards and more investment from abroad, also, they focus more in producing technological goods, they consider themselves as the visionaries of the nation, while they consider the Northerners as the backward people, the ballast that impedes Guanacasteca to reach a better economic position among their neighbors.

Among the 10 million inhabitants of the Republic, 6 million of them live in the 17 provinces that compose the Northern Half, while 4 million lives in the 7 provinces of the Southern Half of the nation. At a glance, life expectancy is higher at the South by 6 years, as they get a 77 years expectancy of life while the Northerners only get 71. The reason of such a drastic difference is criminality, the Northern provinces are characterized for being extremely violent, mostly due to the lack of real opportunities on said zone, also due to drug trafficking issues, as they fight to gather control of the Southern Corridor, a portion of the southernmost provinces that is known for drug production.

During the last years, Guanacasteca is turning into a boiler due to the constant discrimination exerted from the Southerners to their Northern pairs, also a corrupt Socialist Front of Guanacasteca (Northern) party that has nested themselves in pretty much any political institution of the nation and tries to impose themselves against the Southern more progressive ideal for a society.

So, currently, Guanacasteca is a nation with profound divides and clashes in political and social terms, and they are close to have a fate changing election soon that could settle the power of the Socialist Front of Guanacasteca or the Progressives could retake the reigns of the nation and drive it to their ideals as they have pretty much struggled during the last 200 years. Future looks somber, but there’s nothing to discard in the current panorama of this nation, since it’s extremely unpredictable, a chaos to resume it better.

Guanacastecan Football History: Football has been considered, for long, a scapegoat for the people of the Guanacastecan Republic as a scapegoat for the daily life torture that means to be an inhabitant of this country. The Primera División Guanacasteca, a tournament that comprises twenty teams from across the nation has a somewhat lackluster infrastructure, especially on northern teams. The fanbase of the sport is considerably strong, as it’s also a way to express social differences between halves, specially from southerners that have kept a strong control of the league for the last half of a century, winning 45 out of the last 50 editions of Primera División football, that superiority has formed more regionally focused rivalries, as the northerner fans argue that their southern counterparts have teams plagued with dirty money coming from narcotic-related activities.

The Federación Guanacasteca de Fútbol, the ruling entity of the sport in the nation, has decided to step up and build a project for a national team that may represent, in an equal proportion, northerners and southerners in order to create national unity and backup towards the upcoming events that they want to introduce this team, namely: Copa Rushmorí, Baptism of Fire and World Cup 90 Qualifiers. They don’t know the outcome, but there’s some hopes that a decent participation could be obtained, keeping that ideal on sight, they decided to elect the very best that the Guanacastecan Primera Division has to offer, also being managed by a somewhat experienced manager coming from Yuezhou in the shape of Han Ruoyang may help.

Han has managed strong teams back at his home nation, Beian City, an upper table side who likes teams that are defensively solid, play as a team, and supply enough solidity for a deep-lying playmaker to work his magic from the center-back spot. This system has deep implications in Han’s football cosmovision of things, as he flourished under said scheme during his player career. Pretty much this fits as a finger ring for the Guanacastecan team, as the league tends to depend heavily on defending, counterattacking abilities and a great sense of footballing solidarity between players.

Accompanying Han, we have Francisco Mamani, a Huayramarcan assistant coach that left his position as manager in Club Atlético Lima in order to venture himself into the fascinating world of national team football. Mamani, as Han, share the ideals of having a defensive minded football scheme, focusing on solidarity and discipline before creativity and free reign of the players on the pitch.

Contrary to popular belief, the FGF is rather organized and has some economical muscle that tries to translate into decent results in football, in order to forge themselves a name into the multiversal national team ranks and fulfill, the Guanacastecans, with something they might be proud to boast for once in their chaotic lives. Before the master plan begins, the upcoming Copa Rushmori might be a test ground to see what needs to be improved and what can be worked more in order to get into the waters of World Cup action with the Baptism of Fire.

Usual Starting XI Tactical Scheme

Image
Formation: 5-3-2 - AKA: The Gripper.
Style modifier: -3

A 5-3-2 seems utterly defensive at first glance, but as it was said before, take it for granted when it comes to the real Guanacastecan way of football. Han manages a team, as disciplined as he loves, that aims to solidarity work between teammates while defending and, also, while trying to do a counterattack. In this scheme, defensive solidness is secured, as flexibility to cover zones is provided on both sides, since the three centre backs can perfectly support their wing backs, giving two or three players to cover a zone when needed, also concentrating a lot of units as reserves in case the rival manages to sort out the pressure caused on wings, although, it may be easy to break if you force the center backs to move some meters and gather forwards in order to find up a hole and use it to your favor.

Orellana and Venegas may, sometimes, incorporate themselves to the midfield, turning the scheme into a 3-4-1-2, their labor can be: Wide-up the game, to serve as a distraction to the rival midfield or work as paredes(Literally: Walls), in order to ease up transitional movements to attack, this movements makes Calderón switch his role to destruction duties, often implying to play in a rude way, in order to recover the ball and distribute for a swift counterattack, Marín also switches role to play-maker, orchestrating plays and usually coupling up with Linton in said duty, although, Linton may serve 80% of times as a false nine, gravitating 25-30 meters away from goal, in order to reduce the amount of players in the final quarter of the rival, Linton uses his speed and often goes solo or couples with either Ingram or Fuller in order to arrive to the area and strike to goal or serve a pass to his couple on attack, being he, a key in the attack due to his speed and superb sense of position.

Sometimes, large crosses might be sent by Orellana or Venegas to Ingram or Fuller, considering that both have a nice aerial control of the ball, often resulting in a header pass to the other winger or the nearest teammate, serving it in a great position to finish with a goal. In set pieces, Monterroza and Marín are the men in charge to kick, Marín focuses on crosses to the box, while Monterroza takes advantage of being ambidextrous and shoots from wherever he has the chance, usually direct to goal with great finesse, enough to put the rival defenders and goalkeeper in problems, also, Orellana looms as a third choice executor, due to his powerful shot. Penalties are taken by Orellana or Góndola being the latter known for shooting without mercy in terms of power, being the classical defender taking a penalty kick, though, there's a risk he might sent it close to stratosphere when he fails (So, warn the satellites when Góndola kicks a ball!)

Analyzing the behavior of the offensive zone, Linton excels by the merit of being the brain of the team, with a logical insight of the game, adding up that he's perfectionist by nature, so it's expected that he would try the impossible to the point of complicating himself when on need or having advantage. Fuller is full (might sound redundant) of potential, deemed to be the big thing in Guanacastecan football, he's always alert of who's having the ball, his characteristics and movements, hence he's the ideal person to lead pressing tasks on the opposition's defence, since he likes to predict movements due to his methodical thinking on corporal movements. While Ingram might be a sinner in terms of overconfidence and arrogance, yet, he's a polite and disciplined attacker, a hater of mess by nature, doesn't likes to leave loose ends while attacking, prefers to finish plays by himself or being the key orchestrator in order to make sure the play has his seal of quality (Thus, demonstrating his self-righteousness.)

On the midfield, Marín is dramatic by nature, and his risk-taking attitude means that he's prone to simulate fouls, even if blatant exaggeration is needed in order to gain a set pieces and re-order the team to create an attacking chance. Monterroza, the captain, is having a great personal moment, he's currentlly ecstatic for being called to the Guanacastecan National Team, he has been rated as a second-tier player, but now, he's feeling he has shut down some mouths. He's creative and practical, his great vision of the game makes him to pull out of his sleeve good plays, especially, ideas on how to manage the tempo of the game and a good capacity to decide the perfect moment to unleash an attacking initiative or keeping the ball on the defensive zone in order to generate a better chance in the next seconds, and this is usual from him despite being a defender.

At defense, Orellana is the classic risk taker, his corpulence helps him in order to establish is own rules while defending, he's blunt, rude, aggressive and a lover of taunting rivals, usually a guy that likes to mock others by height issues, his mission: Take the players out of his minds and provoke a card that might condition them for the rest of the game; he's the lover of the dirty job, a guy that always defines himself as anti-system. Marín is the team's self proclaimed "Asistente Motivador" (Motivating Coach) due to his optimistic attitude in basically any circumstance, pushing the team to give their best, despite they could be down some goals or winning, his mentality is basically a carbon-copy of Mr. Han's ideal of being resilient to the game circumstances, yet not leaving things loose; on the field, he's known by being cautious and analytical in movements, hence he's some kind of last resort together with González. Venegas doesn't thinks twice, he acts and takes risks while defending, although he's not as rude as Orellana, he often sweeps violently, but with good timing, he has earned his reputation as a decent winger, with good offensive projection, even while being attacked constantly. Góndola and Rosas loves to grab all the flashlights with their defending style, the kind of players called caballeros del fútbol (football gentlemen), known for playing fair, obeying rules and being rarely carded by his attitude on the field, they're loyal, perfectionists and harsh with themselves when he commits errors. When it comes to Rosas, he also is an ambitious and adaptive defender, that according to the circumstances, decides to attack or recover balls, he's flexible and rational, being this somewhat prejudicial since he loves to overthink moves.

And the goalkeeper, González is another creative guy, harshly critical with himself, a lover of living the moment and also, an attention magnet and a cold-blooded person. González tends to be excessively spectacular while saving shots, though, effective on it, since he tries to avoid at all costs a situation that might put him negatively into the flashlights of media, or even worse, lead him to self-punishment; González is good to handle the ball with his feet (Ambidextrous), his ability and attempts to do the insane may lead him to even attempt to dribble forwards in order to give a pass to the defenders or who he considers able to conduct a swift transition to the offense, this makes us consider that he loves to take risks, provided that he has some experience as field player before, since his career started as a midfielder, thing that he remembers and usually does while relaxing after training with his teammates, hence, he knows the risks and consequences of being insane on his business as keeper.

Trigram: DEL | Nickname: Phoenixes | Style Modifier: +3

RP permissions: Yes, but be respectful and TG/DM if you're not sure or have ideas.

Overview

Tactically, the Phoenixes are heavily offensive-minded, utilising a 3-5-2 and relying on individual skill in the middle and up front. Goalkeepers and defenders are perfectly capable, but they're going to have to be ready to make plays and bail out failed attacks. There is a bias towards action and chance instead of possession, and an inclination towards taking defensive risks to generate counterattack opportunities. Additionally, it is expected that the midfielders will be fully active on both ends of the field, employing manpower to have advantages in both the offensive and defense zones rather than relying on positioning. Manager Johannes Detmer will frequently make substitutions at midfield, even as early as the start of the second half, to give both the starters and substitutes an opportunity to work at a higher rate for a shorter period of time.

This team will engage in the psychological warfare of the game, if only because it's one of the best advantages they've got. They will not play dirty or recklessly, but they will make the game chippy, say things to get in their opponents' heads. But it's just for the contest itself; after the game - win, lose, or draw - all of that is done, and the Phoenixes will show respect at the final whistle. Despite their experience, this team will suffer from the lack of continuity in international play. There is a tendency for the players to start stronger than they finish, often looking to simply hold on at the end of games.

GOALKEEPERS

#1 GK Joord Van der Beek - 28, 6-3, 190 - DD Porto Nowi (ZRH): A strong and sturdy goalkeeper who takes charge in the box. Very vocal in organizing the defense and midfield, an essential leadership role with the defensively-minded Valhalla Vikings. Van der Beek has improved quickly in the past few years and has put himself atop the Delaclava goalkeeper heap thanks to strong performances with the Vikings and the Phoenixes, earning himself a contract in Zeta Reka and Hugeltaldom in his prime.

#14 GK George Ross - 30, 6-4, 175 - Algolia AC (SRS): Tall, sturdy, and a keen observer of the game, Ross makes up for perhaps a lack of natural athleticism with smart field positioning, an ability to communicate with the field players, and quick natural instincts and decision making. He has excelled as a top goalkeeper in both Delaclava, with Catherina FC, and in the Squornshelan Remnant States. He takes a back seat to Van der Beek to start this campaign, but at age 30, he is sharp and able as ever.

#21 GK Donat Soler - 27, 6-4, 185 - Southfell United (NPH): Tall and explosive, Soler won three straight Best GK awards and two straight Golden Gloves (fewest goals allowed) in the United Football League, leading Cleopatrana SC to two more league titles and a United Cup victory, before moving on to Southfell United. He's found the level more challenging, but hasn't declined at all - just the unfortunate loser in a tight goalkeeper battle on this team. Soler has a tendency, or perhaps preference, to get out of position and stay active, then bail himself out with an impressive athletic play. Also loves and is good at coming out of the net to play the ball. If Delaclava's down by one or needs a win, don't be surprised to find Soler up the field.

DEFENDERS

#2 RB Josh Torres - 31, 5-8, 150 - Catherina FC: Small and scrappy, Torres locks down the sideline from the opposing field, and he'll get physical to do it. Torres was a national team OG who fell out of favor but successfully reinvented himself in three seasons with Catherina FC - getting named to the Next XI in all three years, leading Catherina FC back to IFCF competition and to a United Cup final, and completely rejuvenating a team that had hemorrhaged its best talent to overseas teams. Torres is one of the rare players who's managed to find his way to a second prime, and he intends to make the most of the opportunity.

#3 CB Rahmonberdi Zhusupov - 24, 5-11, 145 - Ming (CMT): A particularly aggressive center back who isn't afraid to push forward and meet the ball to take changes. He can often get away with it with his speed, but needs to develop more discipline. His importance on an offensively-minded squad in Ming will serve him well on a similarly aggressive Delaclava team.

#4 LB Minotauro Meñica - 24, 5-6, 130 - Loxthorpe Rovers FC (FVA): Lightning quick and strong despite his small stature, Meñica follows the traditional Delaclav style of a highly aggressive outside back, and has benefited as the planned left back of the future NT. He has continued to excel in Flavovespia and, already with a wealth of national team experience at a young age, figured to be a fixture of this team for a long time.

#18 LB Durgali Baxayev - 21, 5-9, 145 - Myana (CMT): Tough and gritty expecially for his size, Baxayev strikes a good balance between attacking on the wings and hanging back, although his judgment needs a bit of work. He is primed to fight for the starting lead back position on the national team for the next decade, and figures to finally gives some defensive backbone to an overly aggressive NT.

#20 CB Wilfrid Gouin - 18, 5-7, 130 - Colonial Sile (VIL): Diminutive but incredibly quick with efficient positioning. A poor aerial defender prone to attacks, but very little gets past him on the ground, and crafty enough to make sure larger opponents have trouble beating him.

#22 RB Carlos Berrera - 30, 5-11, 160 - Algolia AC (SRS): The great-grandson of Delaclava's greatest player of all time, Alessandro Berrera, Berrera has consistently responded to the weight of pressure and expectation, and become a very competent containing back. His more conservative style is finally beginning to mesh with the attack-minded NT, and he is a fantastic positional and physical player as well as an effective distributor from the backfield. A valuable veteran who can be brought in to preserve leads (hopefully the Phoenixes have a few of those).

MIDFIELDERS

#5 RDM Kazuo Martin - 25, 5-11, 170 - Brinemouth (NPH): A quick and patient players, with a national team career going all the way back to the age of 18. He was a pioneer in signing a contract with Brisara FC in Chromatika before working his way to the top of the Red League and moving on to the Zenith.

#6 LDM Ben Romeijn - 26, 6-2, 180 - Blackfields (EUR): A big, speedy and powerful athlete and a bona fide star who got his start as a teenager leading an old AC Espene squad to a respectable table finish. Blackfields took a chance on him and Romeijn has delivered in spades, helping the team into the Gold League and continuing as a reliable goalscorer and playmaker.

#8 LM Aleksandr Temirkanov - 24, 5-7, 135 - Kyethas Rivermen FC (TKT): A surprise selection for the starting eleven, he has battled through injuries in Tikariot and shown how durable and dangerous he can be at his best. A ferocious attacker on the wing, Temirkanov will often take the ball to the net himself if he sees the right opportunity (or, to be honest, even if he doesn't) and likes to take risks and try to recover on defense later. His endurance is improving, but given his breakneck aggression, the last 15 minutes or so are still a challenge.

#9 RM Varlam Kovalev - 26, 5-10, 160 - Chatswood (NPH): A versatile midfielder who has matured impressively in the past few years, and who is both skilled and confident enough to make an offensive impact individually, and physical and hard-working enough to put in the slog on defense to protect a lead. His journey from late bloomer to national team starter has been a sight to behold.

#10 CAM Kent Lindblad - 23, 5-8, 140 - Farrenton Athletic (EUR): The two-time defending UFL MVP and now UFL league champion, Lindblad is the shiny new toy for the Delaclav FA. Steady and cool-headed as they come, Lindblad is perhaps blessed with more tactical than physical gifts, but possesses field vision beyond his years. For a Delaclav, he is uncharacteristically sensible as a containing defender, and offensively works best in support at the back of a formation and as an effective distributor across the field. He can therefore find and generate attacks through the wing players. After winning a UFL Golden Boot and Golden Ball, he joined up with Lukas Meyer at Farrenton Athletic and figures to be a key piece in that team's future.

#12 LM Martin Bartoš - 23, 5-9, 160 - Dhun Lagarr FC (TKT): A lightning quick and versatile midfielder with a nose for the goal, who has left Steckholl United to join in one of the fastest-growing leagues in the world. Despite his youth, Bartoš has a wealth of experience in captaining the Verceola national team. That territorial squad has been canned for the time being, so the Phoenixes will get the benefit of this prospect, who at one point was by consensus the very best midfielder among an embarrassment of riches for Delaclava at the position. Now, he sits elsewhere in the revolving door, but has worked out some discipline issues in Tikariot and hopes to play a major role.

#13 CM Timur Zaitsev - 27, 5-10, 150 - Workers Union (EUR): An offensive-minded, energetic player and a great distributor out of the middle, who has continued to thrive with Workers Union. He was often used as a "spark plug" substitute in his younger days, but emerged as a more consistent starter. Now, with the explosion of young talent, Zaitsev will take a backseat for the time being, but he is still ready to provide guidance and make a difference in the later minutes.

#15 LM Emil Mišalko - 21, 5-7, 140 - Casuals Osteria (KRY): The speedy and aggressive Mišalko was the difference maker in coming over to AC Espene and finally getting them to a league title. He attacks easily down the side and possesses well in an offensive set to draw defenders away and set up chances. Can generate his own scoring chances but prefers to wait and find the most open opportunity. Not a particularly effective defender.

#16 CM Drystan Tudor - 22, 6-1, 160 - CF Outineau (KSK): Tall, strong, rangy, fast, with smooth ball skills, distribution, and scoring ability - Tudor is perhaps the most complete player of all of Delaclava's young talent. He's confident, embraces leadership opportunities and new challenges. If anything, perhaps a bit too confident and is prone to clash with other strong personalities, but coachable under the right guidance.

#17 RM Steffan Mikines - 24, 6-2, 165 - AC Espene: Mikines has bounced around the midfield in the national team program, but as part of the AC Espene youth invasion that are now defending UFL champions, Mikines has shown that he has a winning mentality regardless of where he's plugged in. The Golden Ball winner plays with a chip on his shoulder that no teams abroad expressed any interest in him.

#24 DM Donato Girardi - 29, 5-9, 145 - Chenoworth Harriers (NPH): A national team original who provides valuable veteran depth. In his prime, Girardi was easily the most skilled with the ball on this squad, and was a great asset in the midfield, individually penetrating the defense and exploring his options. The veteran has plenty left in his legs at just 29, and while gunning for a starting job, hopes to show his worth as a "spark-plug" substitute.

#55 RM Keaton Durbridge - 32, 5-10, 155 - Dí Maozöxê (FFD)

FORWARDS

#23 FW Damian Soto - 25, 6-4, 190 - Catherina FC: Almost freakishly quick for his height, Soto spent his early career shining on a squad that is more known for its defensive capabilities. He was named to the Best XI for two straight years - once with Tigers, once with Cleopatrana SC. Moving on to Catherina FC, Soto picked up a Golden Boot in a tight title chase. He may not play in a top-level league like Eura or Krytenia, but Soto knows how to score and seems bound to do so when he gets his opportunity.

#11 RF Lukas Meyer - 26, 6-2, 175 - Farrenton Athletic (EUR): The best natural goalscorer of the squad, Meyer does not have the speed or size to capitalize on many breakaway chances, but in offensive sets and possessions, there is no one more reliable or adept in the 18-yard box. Meyer has a knack for finding the right shot or leading pass within that range, and seems likely to have the best chance at cracking the world's stiffest defenses. He continues to improve and earned league honors for the first time in the Gold League; all indicators say his best is yet to come.

#7 LF Dathan Ingram - 27, 5-7, 140 - Casuals Osteria (KRY): One of the smallest players on the squad, Ingram is most commonly a threat penetrating the left wing. In a typical attack, Ingram will look to take it to the flag and cross. On the counterattack, Ingram will seek out the middle and can generate wonderful displays of individual skill, either taking the goal himself or dropping the ball off for a neat assist. He is not a significant aerial threat but is counted on to take many corner kicks and free kicks.

#19 FW Odhrán O'Glissane - 23, 5-6, 135 - Port Tacassam FC (TKT): Slight and so can be pushed around easily, but he's a magician with the ball and in finding space to work. Has become a potent reserve in the Tikariot league, with consistently strong performances and a nose for the goal.

#25 FW Jack Sanders - 27, 6-0, 165 - Steckholl United: A matured player, a gentleman with tactical patience and a calm head, although sometimes a bit too soft and passive. Beats defenders early with speed and can find himself in the right place for a tap-in, if he isn't defended too vigorously. He seems to be a bit outside the range of players who can advance their game further abroad, but he is optimistic that breakout performance with Steckholl United and the Phoenixes will change his fortunes.

Notes:
  • As stated above, Detmer will frequently expect midfielders to work their hardest for 45 minutes, then be substituted for someone else. Romeijn and Martin are more likely to go for the full 90 minutes, and Detmer will always hold on to one or two substitutions if another replacement is needed elsewhere.
  • Meñica will take corners.
  • Lindblad will be the one to take free kicks if there is a direct scoring opportunity; Meñica for longer range and placement, or if looking for a volley/header in the box.
  • For penalties, use the first player on this list who is still in the game: Meyer, Lindblad, Romeijn, Soto. (Or, if you put in Durbridge, use Durbridge.)

The Wreckerian National Football Team
Image

Full nation name: The Reformed Republic of Wreckeria
Trigramme: WRE
Nicknames: The Bulldogs
Team Colors: Orange and Black

Info:
On paper, the future of the Wreckerian Bulldogs looks very cloudy. The governments of Hapilopper and Wreckeria are in the midst of negotiations that will see Wreckeria merge into the Dominion of Hapilopper, which has some thinking that this will be the final tournament of any time for a team billing itself as "Wreckeria." But will it? This team did more than exceed expectations during their World Cup Qualifying campaign. They came out, all guns blazing, and at one point, actually led their group deep in qualifying. It was at this point that the Wreckerian Association of Soccer reportedly got enough financial support to continue in World Cup 91 and beyond. Wreckeria as an independent nation may be coming to an end, but this football team is playing like it's got a lot left. And they very well might be.

MANAGER/HEAD COACH: Marvin Byrnes
Byrnes, 40, attempted to present football as a way to unite Wreckeria and get away from the decades of violence and infighting that has plagued the nation. Byrnes, who used to play for Sporting Milwood Town before the Wreckerian Premier League collapsed 10 years ago, was a star striker for the team. Now, he's just hoping his fellow Wreckerians can pull off a miracle. Byrnes will focus on a neutral style of play, and will rely on the 3-4-3 formation for most of the time.

Byrnes' staff includes:
ASSISTANT MANAGER: Abner Crewe
ASSISTANT COACH: Nick Donaldson
GOALKEEPING COACH: Quentin Joyner
TRAINER: Charlie Garner
TECHNICAL DIRECTOR: Darrell Glazier
PHYSIO: Robert Fry

The Fans:
A small group of Wreckerians have vowed to make the trip to whatever nation will play host to the Bulldogs. There's not many of them, but they're passionate and want to present as positive image of their land as they can. They'll be there to cheer on their fellow Wreckerians, some of whom they fought in battles with. While Wreckerians will want to present as positive of a picture of their nation as possible, they do like to have fun, and they look to make your tournament as enjoyable as possible.

The Stadium:
Patrick Stadium, Halsted, Wreckeria
Built: 1958 | Seating Capacity: 30,000 | Open-Air | Natural Grass
Image
Built back in the late 50s for the Halsted State University football team, William Patrick Stadium in Halsted wound up becoming the nation's de facto national stadium after the nation's original national stadium, Wreckeria Stadium, was blown up by the True Wreckerians after they thought it to be a outpost for the Party of Pride. Patrick Stadium is rumored to be undergoing a major renovation, and could be seen as a possible site for Wreckeria - or Hapiloppian - national team matches in the future. Watch this space.

The Players:
GOALKEEPERS:
Image
#1 - JOHN MARLOWE | Age: 26 | Kicks: Left
twii.tur: (none) | Club: The Soldiers of Hapilopper City
Style of Play: Roving Keeper | Speed: Medium | Physicality: Decent | Attitude: Confident
John Marlowe will tell you he's Wreckeria through and through. The grandson of William Marlowe, a defenseman on Wreckeria's World Cup 30 squad, Marlowe has had football in his blood his entire life. He carries the Wreckerian flag on his sleeve when he plays for the Soldiers in Hapilopper City. He has a charity, "Marlowe for Wreckeria" which tries to enrich the lives of Wreckerian children with a better education than what they currently receive. As of now, it is not known whether or not he will continue if Wreckeria gets absorbed into Hapilopper, as is rumored.

Image
#30 - CAREY ATWATER | Age: 29 | Kicks: Right
twii.tur: @careythekeeper | Club: Washington FC
Style of Play: Sweeper Keeper | Speed: Slow | Physicality: Low | Attitude: Professional
Carey The Keeper, a favorite in the Washington area of Hapilopper for his friendly attitude in the community, is the sole backup on the Wreckerian national team, and one of a few Wreckerian players that remain from its World Cup 84 and 85 squads. With the Washington FC squad, Atwater averages one goal per 89 minutes of play, and while the team is not usually a highly-regarded squad in the HFA, it's not because of him. The fans in Washington know this, and consequently any heat towards the squad is not generally directed his way. Atwater is not expected, however, to play for Team Hapilopper if the two nations merge.

DEFENDERS:
Image
#2 - HUEY HOOPER | Age: 24 | Centerback | Kicks: Right
twii.tur: @hueyhoop | Club: Hapilopper City Highway Patrol
Style of Play: Zone Defense | Speed: Fast | Physicality: Heavy | Attitude: Sparkplug
You ever heard of Huey Hooper before? You probably will by the time this World Cup is over. Huey, considered the best defensive footballer to come from Wreckeria, has proven himself to be one of the Highway Patrol's most effective defensive players, stopping an offensive effort with such force, it reminds Hapiloppian and Wreckerian fans of certain other players that have played in the Dominion. Fortunately, Huey Hooper is nowhere near as homicidal as some of those certain players. What he is, however, is a ballplayer that is hellbent on getting under the skin of his opponents, and even more hellbent on driving his teammates to be the best they can be. How effective he is at it, though, remains to be seen.

Image
#3 - CLIVE CARSON | Age: 27 | Centerback | Kicks: Left
twii.tur: @clive_carsonWRE | Club: Kingsland Warriors
Style of Play: Man-To-Man | Speed: Fast | Physicality: Medium | Attitude: Annoying
Ahh, Clive Carson, the single most annoying player in sports in either Hapilopper or Wreckeria, and that includes that dumbass Hapiloppian pitcher that drove a stolen bullpen cart into a gas pump. But unlike Nolan Jefferson, that pitcher in question, Clive Carson is not an idiot. Rather, he's an incredibly intelligent human being who is reportedly the best chess player in Hapiloppian football. But when playing man-to-man defense, Clive is among the best at getting on the nerves of both his opponents and, on occasion, his own teammates. Several players have remarked hearing Clive making incredibly annoying noises to them when having to face off against him. These noises, said one Hapiloppian player, resemble the sound of a small dog yapping away. But he has his purposes with these noises - to both rob his opponents of their concentration, to throw them off their game and to get under their skin. And it works. A year ago, he got the usually-unflappable Toby Bryson of Soldiers so angry that Toby forgot where he was and punched him out. Toby got a red card and a three-match suspension. Clive got a black eye and the last laugh.

Image
#4 - SCOTT MURPHY | Age: 36 | Centerback | Kicks: Right
twii.tur: (none) | Club: Garvinson Trojans
Style of Play: Zone Defense | Speed: Fast | Physicality: Heavy | Attitude: Brawler
The locals in Garvinson like to tell stories about Scott Murphy. Most of Hapilopper can brag about Nathan Ellis, the most violent of violent gentlemen in all of multiversal sport. But Scott Murphy has become legend in the Garvinson area about the fights that they've seen Scott Murphy in, primarily in the bars and taverns of the Garvinson area. Murphy has always been a brawler, dating back to his days playing street soccer. His crude style of defense has seen him slam players into brick walls and into concrete floors without much regard for them or his own personal health. Many times, fans watching HFA action in Garvinson will see a fresh black eye on Murphy. Not from any action on the pitch, but rather from his time brawling in the bars around Garvinson. Don't mess with this guy, he'll beat the hell out of you.

Image
#20 - JACOB SUTTON | Age: 27 | Centerback | Kicks: Right
twii.tur: @jake_sutton | Club: United Hampton Cities
Style of Play: Zone Defense | Speed: Fast | Physicality: Decent | Attitude: Relaxed
The first time Jacob Sutton walked into the United Hampton Cities locker room, the first thing he did was install a hammock. It annoyed the hell out his teammates and his coaches at first, but after a little bit of time, they realized that this guy had the right idea. He could go into a match relaxed and loose and get the job done. He could focus himself with some music, a drink with an umbrella in it, and then go out there and take an offender down. Was it unorthodox? Yes. But very few things in Hapilopper or Wreckeria are done in an orthodox manner. Away from the pitch, Jacob does about the same thing. He can be seen in his apartment in East Hampton, relaxing, watching old movies and drinking those refreshing beverages with umbrellas in them.

Image
#21 - MORTY EWART | Age: 29 | Centerback | Kicks: Left
twii.tur: @ewartdefense | Club: Football Club Hapilopper City
Style of Play: Zone Defense | Speed: Fast | Physicality: Decent | Attitude: Professional
Years ago, Morton Ewart never figured on becoming a footballer. Baseball was his first love, having been a standout pitcher in high school. But with no hopes of getting anywhere in the National League of Hapilopper, and with not much money in the Wreckerian Baseball League, Ewart, for whatever reason, turned to soccer. And for whatever reason, he found tackling people to be a lot of fun. Did we mention that he was one of the biggest brushback pitchers in Wreckeria? Either way, Morty took a sick love of taking someone down, and he did it with frightening efficiency. Amazingly, this took him places, and these days he plays for Football Club HC - albeit the forgotten team in Hapilopper City, but still in the Hapilopper Football Association. Morty can't believe his luck.

Image
#22 - MAX CRISP | Age: 27 | Centerback | Kicks: Right
twii.tur: @da_crispy_1 | Club: Border City United
Style of Play: Zone Defense | Speed: Fast | Physicality: As needed | Attitude: Entertaining
To the delight of the fans in Border City but perhaps to the consternation of his coaches for both club and country, and of his teammates, Max Crisp is more known for his prowess racing midget cars on dirt tracks across Hapilopper and Wreckeria. He's good at it, being known for ripping the top cushion of the track as he passes other drivers en route to victory. But as good as he is, race car drivers crash. And Max Crisp did in spectacular fashion a couple of years ago at the National Bowl at Capital Stadium in Hapilopper City, sending a midget into the catch fence and into flames. Crisp was OK, but fans took to calling him "The Crispy One" after getting out of that fiery wreckage. And to show his brand of humor, Max embraced that name with relish. His profile picture on twii.tur, in fact, is of him sending a sprint car into orbit a year ago near Kingsland Beach.

MIDFIELDERS:
Image
#5 - DARRELL STACEY | Age: 25 | Defensive Midfielder | Kicks: Left
twii.tur: @dstacey | Club: Pinkerton City FC
Style of Play: Defensive | Speed: Fast | Physicality: Heavy | Attitude: Sparkplug
There are players that truly believe that if you're not getting into card trouble, you're not trying hard enough. We bring this up because Darrell Stacey is absolutely one of those players. As a midfielder - more specifically, a hybrid midfielder/defenseman, Darrell has no qualms about going a little too far in his quest to stop the other team from scoring. Not on the level of Nathan Ellis suplexing a striker onto a solid surface, but close. Fans in Pinkerton have fallen in love with Darrell's no-nonsense style of play that can turn a soccer match into a bar fight very quickly. For instance, the match between Garvinson and Pinkerton last year turned into exactly that when Darrell Stacey and Scott Murphy got together. Both players started throwing bombs at each other when tangling for the ball, leading to one hell of a bench-clearing brawl. And they're teammates on the national team!

Image
#6 - BISCUIT GILBERT | Age: 28 | Defensive Midfielder | Kicks: Right
twii.tur: @biscuit | Club: Raceway FC
Style of Play: Defensive | Speed: Medium | Physicality: As needed | Attitude: Goofball
Biscuit Gilbert, named such because "he's a biscuit away from 250," is considered the heart and soul of the Wreckeria midfield. He's a huge player in physicality, and his character is just as large. Biscuit is said to be one of the more entertaining players in either Hapilopper or Wreckeria, and a lot of it is because he does what he likes to do, to hell with what anyone thinks. His singing voice is terrible, but he's a regular at the karaoke bars in the Buckridge area. He's entered a couple of high profile hot dog eating contests, and on one very unfortunate (and disgusting) occasion, he showed millions of television viewers across the Dominion why the Hapilopper Television Network utilizes super slow-motion cameras for these contests. And then he did a happy dance, almost as if he was proud of what he had just done. Biscuit is all about enjoying the moment, regardless of how good he is at it or not.

Image
#7 - SIG JUSTICE | Age: 32 | Offensive Midfielder | Kicks: Right
twii.tur: @sig_justice | Club: The Soldiers of Hapilopper City
Style of Play: Offensive | Speed: Fast | Physicality: Heavy | Attitude: The Captain
Despite a very unfortunate start of his international career, injuring himself in Wreckeria's first World Cup 84 match against Mareibat, Sig Justice has placed himself all alone as the captain of the Wreckerian national football team, and rumors are rife that Justice could be considered for Team Hapilopper if the two nations merge. He's a great offensive threat, either by feeding the ball to his strikers, or by pulling his own card and going for the goal himself. And last year, Sig led all midfielders in the HFA, scoring 17 goals during the season. Away from the pitch, Justice is quite the softball player, enjoying his time playing beer league softball around Hapilopper City with a group of friends with the Center Street Pub.

Image
#8 - BOBBY BELCHER | Age: 22 | Offensive Midfielder | Kicks: Right
twii.tur: @bob_the_belcher | Club: West River FC
Style of Play: Offensive | Speed: Medium | Physicality: Light | Attitude: Professional
In the future, you probably will hear more about Bobby Belcher, a midfielder that pundits have called "the most professional player in the HFA." You probably won't hear of him on the Hapilopper national team, but you will hear of him as a stalwart in the midfield for West River FC, that's for sure. He's a great player, scoring 9 goals last season for West River, but the biggest criticism of him is that he doesn't get physical enough out on the pitch. He doesn't get out there and put his body on the line, he doesn't get into card trouble, he doesn't get into fights, he doesn't cheap-shot his opponents and he doesn't play with a target on his back. But that might be the point. His quiet style of play keeps him out of trouble and in the good graces of his team, who have thought about making him more of a striking forward than just a midfielder delivering the ball to his forwards.

Image
#23 - DAVID WILNER | Age: 26 | Hybrid Midfielder | Kicks: Left
twii.tur: (none) | Club: Peoria FC
Style of Play: Either-Or | Speed: Slow | Physicality: Heavy | Attitude: Clumsy
A lot of pundits in Wreckeria figured that David Wilner would be a sure bet to start in the midfield. A dual threat in both the defense and offense, Wilner got a lot of people's attention with his play with Peoria. But then he crashed. It happened at Capital Stadium during a match between Peoria and Soldiers last season, and Wilner unwittingly tested the structural intregity of the goalposts in the 27th minute of a 0-0 match. The goalposts didn't give. Wilner's face, on the other hand, did. So instead of continuing to be a dual threat, Wilner spent time in the hospital having suffered facial injuries after running full tilt boogie into the goalposts. And unfortunately for him, the reaction among Hapiloppians was a sickening level of amusement. Venerable TV, who aired the match, showed Wilner smash his face into the goal post in super slow motion, while commentators joked "THAT'S GOTTA HURT!"

Image
#24 - DEAN NORMAN | Age: 34 | Defensive Midfielder | Kicks: Right
twii.tur: @dean_norman | Club: Hapilopper City Highway Patrol
Style of Play: Defensive | Speed: Fast | Physicality: As needed | Attitude: Asshole
In this world, people brighten your day in certain ways. Some brighten your day by their presence. Others brighten your day by leaving you alone. Dean Norman is in the latter category. He's been arrested twice since joining Highway Patrol for his behavior. He's been thrown out of school board meetings in Hapilopper City twice for some nasty comments made in public comments. He's avoided suspensions on a number of occasions for some very, very dirty plays, and Highway Patrol has contemplated cutting him, not because of his poor quality of play, but because he has been seen as something of a "clubhouse cancer" in the Highway Patrol locker room. If any problems come from the Wreckerian locker room, it'll come from Mr. Dean Norman.

Image
#25 - CURT TURNBULL | Age: 32 | Offensive Midfielder | Kicks: Left
twii.tur: @c_turnbull | Club: West Hampton Sports Club
Style of Play: Offensive | Speed: Medium | Physicality: Heavy | Attitude: Friendly
Known for his ability to pull his way through traffic and deliver the ball for his striker at WHSC, Curt Turnbull is a fantastic offensive midfielder, capable of cleaning out defenders and opening up lanes. He's late in his career, having played 15 years in both Wreckeria and Hapilopper as one of the great journeyman midfielders in football. But his career is winding down and winding down fast, and it is likely that after this season, he'll ride off into the sunset and spend his time on the fishing hole near Catty Lake, about 70 miles south of Halsted. It's nice and warm there in the summer and the fishing is good. And quite frankly, that's all he looks forward to nowadays.

#9 - GARY BRONSON | Age: 26 | False Nine | Kicks: Right
twii.tur: @g-bron | Club: Border City United
Style of Play: Deceptive | Speed: Medium | Physicality: Light | Attitude: Creative
Gary Bronson is a master of deception. So it shouldn't surprise you that he's a really good poker player, and really good at a certain video game where you play an impostor. Either way, Bronson has mastered the art of the "False Nine", playing havoc with opposing defenses and turning a tough situation into one very advantageous to himself and his teammates. That sort of play has also netted him a lot of goals - 21 last year in the HFA, to be exact. Should Wreckeria merge into Hapilopper, as is suggested, Bronson would be considered for a regular off-the-bench role if the two national squads come together. Away from the pitch, Bronson is, interestingly enough, a TV game show enthusiast, and is seen watching the Hapiloppian game show "The Family Fight" every night, a show that has recently enjoyed a resurgence thanks to its newest host, John Perkins.

Image
#10 - DAVID MARLIN | Age: 19 | Center Forward | Kicks: Left
twii.tur: @marliner | Club: Hapilopper City Highway Patrol
Style of Play: Athletic | Speed: Mega-Fast | Physicality: Medium | Attitude: Excitable
The youngest player on the Wreckerian Bulldogs, David Marlin is also one of the most exciting players, taking after his childhood hero, Hapiloppian striker Ernie Stevenson. Just watch him with the ball for five seconds and you'll see how he takes after him. He pulls off incredible move after incredible move, and scores wild difficult goals. Not on the level of Ernie's famous "Hop-Skip-Holy Shit" goals, but he's getting there. Last year, he scored 26 goals in the HFA and helped propel the Highway Patrol to 3rd in the championship. Marlin is one of the most excitable members of the Wreckerian squad, and is said to be up at 5 a.m. every morning, ready to go out and kick some ass.

Image
#11 - GORD SHEPPARD | Age: 28 | Center Forward | Kicks: Right
twii.tur: (none) | Club: Capital City United
Style of Play: Straightforward | Speed: Medium | Physicality: Medium | Attitude: Antisocial
Gordon Sheppard, better known as Gord, is one of those players that is more interested in going out, doing his job and going home. He's not a clubhouse cancer by any means, so let's get that out of the way. But he also doesn't have any interest in spending any more time with his teammates, or with the media, or with the fans, than he needs to. He'd rather go home, do his own thing, and not be bothered. When reporters try asking him questions, they're greeted with typical, short, one-word responses. It's rare that he'll open up to people, and it takes some doing. All he wants to do is go out there and win football matches. The rest is just window dressing. He'd rather go home and work on his backyard, and specifically his garden, and believe it or not, Gord might be the best gardener in all of Wreckerian or Hapiloppian football. He's a damn fanatic!

Image
#26 - KENNY BECKHAM | Age: 31 | Winger | Kicks: Left
twii.tur: @kenbeck | Club: Pinkerton City SC
Style of Play: Supporting | Speed: Slow | Physicality: Heavy | Attitude: Cautious
Kenny Beckham, in pace in the event of a change in formation or desperate substitution, is an unlucky fellow. Here's another injury-prone individual, and for the most unfortunate of reasons. He slipped on a drainpipe in Surrey. He accidentally collided with his teammate in Buckridge. He crotched the goalpost in Pinkerton, turning his voice up three octaves for a week. He accidentally leveled the manager of the Soldiers, wrecking his own knee in the process. And away from the pitch, rumors exist of an unspecified incident at a female friend's house involving a bunch of noodles. It seems like this guy gets himself in a lot of trouble, and maybe that's why he's not starting. He's a great forward, but it seems like trouble tends to find him.

Image
#27 - NICK SLADE | Age: 32 | Winger | Kicks: Left
twii.tur: @slade50 | Club: Washington FC
Style of Play: Straightforward | Speed: Medium | Physicality: Heavy | Attitude: Professional
The owner of one of the largest vinyl record collections in all of international football, chances are, if you want a random, obscure album to listen to, Nick Slade will have it. He loves his music, and away from the pitch, there's nothing he loves more than listening to a random album. But on the pitch, Slade is the kind of ballplayer that will scrap like hell to get the goal. He'll scrap, he'll fight, and he'll get the job done. And this means getting into card trouble at times. Even as an offensive ballplayer, Nick will take out someone if he feels it's needed, and it's happened on more than one occasion, getting red-carded in a game against United Hampton Cities when he clotheslined the goalkeeper, who he felt was taking a few too many liberties with saving the ball. If you take that to mean he has an attitude problem, sure, why not?

THE UNITED REPUBLICS OF YUEZHOU - NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM
月州联合共和国 - 国际足球队
Image
Badge and kits designed by Txakhaxi's Tahuatxi Storefront.

The first tournament of the Hayabusa Era, World Cup 90 Qualifiers, went about as well as expected. The Kandorese manager generally managed to win all the points he should've been winning with this Dragons squad, and made up for his slip-ups with some suprisingly positive results against South Newlandia and Zwangzug. Now, he faces his first major challenge - getting Yuezhou over the hump in the Cup of Harmony, a tournament in which they've historically struggled. The first foreign manager of Yuezhou in decades has impressed with his high-flying, possession football and media savvy, but will he be able to deliver the deep tournament runs that the YFA craves? There's no better time to find out than now.

Manager: Ken Hayabusa, 48

Ken Hayabusa made his name in Kandorith with Higaku Antlers, earning promotion to the First Divison, and with Imakazawa Ravens, where he won four leagues and two cups in a legendary tenure. But it was his time with Kandorith's national team, where he took an ailing Lotus Warriors organization to a historic Cup of Harmony title and a return to World Cup qualification, where he really staked his claim to be one of the world's best managers. A huge enjoyer of life and football, he's usually cheerful and passionate, but can be calm and strict when needed. Taking a paternalistic approach to management, he believes wholly in team synergy and in his players' ability to play together, as well as in stylish attacking football. He's shown time and time again that his approach will work in Kandorith - how will it translate to Yuezhou?

Tactics:

Ken Hayabusa believes in controlling and attacking football, something that puts him at odds with virtually every other national team manager in Yue history. The priority is winning first and foremost, and Hayabusa is tactically flexible, but with a bevy of attacking talents to choose from, he's confident that the right eleven exists that can play beautiful football and win in a nation desperately in need of both. There may be a learning curve from the counterattacking football that Yuezhou is known for, but this is still a surprisingly skilled team with representatives from some of Rushmore's finest leagues, and this could really be a team to watch after a few matches.

With the ball, the team will play quickly and creatively, focusing on controlling the ball and dynamically exploiting weaknesses in the opponent's defense. Jiawei maintains some defensive coverage on the left flank, but if the game is under control Reeve will float forwards to provide width in the attack, forming a sort of 3-2-5 (Wen will also join the attackers) shape. Liu Huiying plays as a creative false-nine type, who will serve as a sort of offensive hub while dropping into midfield. Huang Shedong, formerly a striker, will play as a right inside-forward, using his speed to make runs in behind the shoulder of the defense and his technique to create and convert chances once in the box, while Luo provides width and support from the left-hand side. Wen Xiaohui and Li Jing, the two non-holding midfielders, will both be aggressively moving forward to join the attack and set up chances, with Wen often interchanging with Liu. Jiawei and Yuan are relatively uninvolved in the attack, although Li's ball-carrying and long-range passive often helps progress the ball in Yuezhou's third of the pitch, serving a key bridge between the defense and midfield.

Without the ball, the team defends from the front, relying on the pace and industry of the front three to harry opposing defenses and force mistakes. There sometimes is a sense of there being "attacking" and "defensive" blocks, the latter being comprised of the defense, Wan, and sometimes the versatile Li, and the former being everyone else. While this may feel somewhat disjointed in the early days, the idea is that successive lines can react quickly to the press being broken and move up to compensate and close off space. The fullbacks also tend to play very conservatively without the ball and in transitions, although Reeve will sometimes push up to counterattack, giving the team a solid defensive base without the ball to work from.

Score a Goal - Liu Huiying, Huang Shedong, Luo Dan
Score from Distance - Li Jing, Wan Sheping, Liu Huiying
Assist a Goal - Wen Xiaohui, Liu Huiying, Luo Dan
Score off a Header - Wan Sheping, Yuan Mingrong, Luo Dan
Win a Free Kick/Penalty - Liu Huiying, Luo Dan, Huang Shedong
Get Sent Off - Wan Sheping, Wen Xiaohui, Guo Xiawei
Get a Yellow Card - Wan Sheping, Zhu Aiguo, Guo Xiawei
Come Through in the Clutch - Li Jing, Liu Huiying, Yuan Mingrong

STARTERS

#01 - GK - LU Qiang (f) (陆蔷) - 34 - Guerrilla Cathair (AUD)
From an actual guerrilla in the Yue Civil War to Guerrilla Cathair, Lu Qiang is a fighter above all else. On the pitch, she’s more modern, better at playing the ball from the back, but undoubtedly worse at actually stopping the ball from going into the net. With Zhao Deliang on the rise behind her, this may be her final tournament as Yuezhou's undisputed #1 - but what a run it's been.
#14 - LB - JIAWEI Chuan (f) (佳薇川) - 29 - Tihon (CMT)
A quick, crafty full-back (or wing-back, or even winger if Yuezhou is really parking the bus) whose biggest weakness is a propensity to get forced off the ball. Will likely play more defensively than Reeve on the right-hand side.
#27 - CB - LI Jianguo (李建国) - 24 - FC Einheit Marnau (STL)
Despite his young age, Li is incredible on the ball, at his best in a three-man defense where he can make surging runs and spray accurate long-range passes with either foot. The physicality isn't quite there for a grueling qualifying campaign, although he’s working on it, but his vision and composure on the ball are just too good for Hayabusa to pass up in this system. Could this be his breakout?
#05 - CB - YUAN Mingrong (袁明荣) - 28 - Ararat (MYT)
An intelligent, cultured young center-back who's solid but still a bit raw with the ball. Showed enough promise in Mytanija as the best defender in an admittedly underwhelming Ararat defense to earn a shot, and has rapidly developed to a strong all-around center back who was the Top League's player of the season.
#13 - RB - Diadora REEVE (f) (利朵拉) - 29 - Coret Hawks (NPH)
Diadora Reeve is an athletic, relatively attack-minded fullback who provides an interesting tactical option for Yuezhou in place of Zhu Aiguo. We think she had a Yue grandfather or something, which is why she's turned up on the Yue national team despite everyone previously thinking she was Nepharim.
#08 (C) - CM/CAM - LI Jing (李精) - 32 - Steinaux (GRÆ)
Li Jing is very quick and excels on the counterattack as a creative or goalscoring threat. Has enjoyed increased praise lately for his exploits in Græntfjall due to the beginning of normalization in relations between the two countries.
#19 - CDM/CM - WAN Sheping (万射平) - 25 - Wirr Tsi (CMT)
An old-school, defensive-minded midfielder who's surprisingly good in the air despite being 5'8". Earned a move to countryman Zhaxi Nanlei’s Wirr Tsi squad a few seasons ago, and is rapidly becoming one of the best young players in Chromatika and a key figure in the newly-minted Red League juggernauts.
#18 - CAM - WEN Xiaohui (f) (文小辉) - 29 - Libertas Bergheim (SVJ)
Wen Xiaohui, the niece of controversial star midfielder Wen Xiaoli, has rapidly developed from Yuezhou’s next big thing to a star in her own right. She wasn't a great tactical fit for Yuan Zilai's or Lu Jialan’s style, but her pace and playmaking more than merit her inclusion in the first-choice starting eleven, and her breakout WCQ87 was a rare bright spot in an otherwise miserable qualifying campaign. Has stagnated a bit lately, even becoming a substitute under Kang Guilin, but has been rejuvenated creatively in Hayabusa's system.
#22 - LW/RW - LUO Dan (罗丹) - 29 - Coquitlam United (KSK)
A more mobile forward who can deputize capably on either wing or as an attacking midfielder, Luo is a dangerous scorer known for his quick-burst runs behind the defense, although he can be a little selfish at times. Will be playing as more traditional winger for the national team, but is also capable of playing as an inside-forward on the right or dropping back into a wide midfield position.
#10 - AM/SS - LIU Huiying (f) (刘辉映) - 29 - Sabrefell Moths (NPH)
Liu’s speed and devastating passing ability make her one to watch with every counterattack. Her high workrate, even on the defensive end, should theoretically make her a good candidate to slot into a false nine-esque offensive hub position, as she's now an attacking midfielder at the club level as well in the Zenith.
#09 - RAM/ST - HUANG Shedong (黄舍东) - 32 - Coret Hawks (NPH)
While not particularly good at hold-up play or in the air, Huang's blazing speed and technique mean he excels at exploiting gaps in the opponents' defense with his dribbling and short passes. A strong finisher, but relatively unproven leading a line by himself - maybe playing as an inside-forward will actually be better for him?

SUBSTITUTES
#26 - GK - ZHAO Deliang - 21 - Atletik Thessia (MYT)
An absolute goalkeeping phenom who won a historic Golden Ball (both in terms of position and age) en route to Jiangdong's first league title in years. A cool, confident, and physically imposing general on the pitch, albeit a bit traditionalist in playstyle.
#23 - GK - GUO Yanhong - 30 - Dhun Lagarr FC (TKT)
A modern sweeper-keeper and competent shot-stopper who is aggressive to a fault, but who had a strong enough season in Tikariot to earn a call-up.
#24 - LB - LU Lanying (f) - 23 - Rutland Dockside (CDG)
A quick, athletic left-back, Lu is strong when driving forwards and tracking back but could work on her crossing.
#06 - CB/CDM - GUO Xiawei - 31 - Urrheddiao (CMT)
Formerly a makeshift libero in a back three, Guo Xiawei has often been redeployed as a defensive midfielder. One of the first of his generation of Yue players to sign abroad, for since-relegated Tanques AOE of the Ko-orenite Top League, Guo has flashes of brilliance with the ball and is very good at reading and intercepting passes, but tends to make unforced errors on defense worryingly often. Thrown into the fire by Hayabusa, who hoped that his much-improved passing and dribbling touch will allow him to flourish in a back four, but is still a shade too error-prone compared to Yuan, Zhu, and Li.
#15 - CB/RB - ZHU Aiguo - 31 - Iturributa United (ASG)
An aggressive, versatile defender who likes to win balls and push forward with them. A center-back by trade, Zhu unexpectedly became Yuezhou's starting right-back under Lu Jialan - his emergence at the position earned him a transfer to Astograth as well as his starting spot, but he's now back to his natural position.
#25 - RB - DONG Xiaowang - 23 - Megabrantid (SRS)
A pacy, strong fullback well-suited to the modern game, although his rawness on the defensive end will make him more of a long-term project for new club Megabrantid. Could be creatively deployed as a winger in a pinch.
#07 - CDM - YANG Tao - 32 - Ephesian FC (ZWZ)
Energetic but not particularly skilled, Yang will be tasked with pressing aggressively, winning balls back before passing them to someone more creative, and kicking opponents to stop attacks.
#15 - CM - FANG Yuhui (f) - 25 - North Granby (CDG)
Not the most physically imposing, but seemingly endless stamina and excellent positioning mean she shows up almost everywhere on the pitch when needed to make a tackle. Not great offensively, but improving.
#11 - AM - TAO Beiliang - 30 - Korsbach (GRÆ)
A relentless source of energy, aggression, and creativity, Tao is still pretty inconsistent at times, but is a great student of the game. Originally outshone even Li Jing when the pair went abroad together, but his career has stalled a bit with Korsbach.
#77 - LAM/RAM - JIANG Jieren - 25 - Osarese Marcadia (AUD)
An incredibly quick winger, albeit one slightly out of place on the left, Jiang’s ball-retention skills need to work and he tends to play with too much ambition. Still, he’s absolutely electric when on, with a combination of scoring and playmaking on the counterattack that could really make an impact.
#36 - AM/ST - ZHENG Yuanjun (f) - 25 - Fiskadaha (PFA)
An intelligent, versatile attacker, Zheng is much more skilled as a playmaker than as a scorer, although her ability to find space with her runs has still gotten her a decent scoring record. Has become one of the Apex's premier attackers, but has yet to surpass the generation before her.
#21 - ST - JI Weibo - 25 - Brantisvogan (SRS)
While selfish to a fault and not the easiest personality to work with, Ji Weibo has laid waste to South Newlandia to the tune of 17 goals in 22 matches. A pure poacher who’s posed an increased long-range threat as of lately, Ji isn’t much of a team player but can arguably lead a line by himself better than the less physical Huang can, and could be a real option off the bench.

MANAGEMENT STAFF

MG ImageSandra Sybill | Age: 43 | Height: 5 ft 11 in | Player Caps: 112 Player Goals: 16 | Debut Cycle: 90
Active from WC 74 to WC 81, Sandra Sybill had the finesse and the speed to be a part of the Anomalies to a tune of 112 caps and 16 goals while also being part of a Real Azuris squad in Cosumar that absolutely terrorized the international stage. Sybill's calling card was quickness and quality shooting with the cleverness that came with experience. Then, she stayed with Real Azuris to be a part of their coaching staff as a midfielder coach. After the dissolution of the Harlighet Ligen, many wondered what Sybill would do next. After running camps for multiple teams on many a offseason, Sybill got her certification and then made herself available for any jobs to follow. This is a huge step for her - the fact that her very first managing role is of the Anomalies - but she knows the pressure, she knows the field, and most of all, she knows what it's like to be part of the Anomalies.

AMG ImageRachel Hellion | Age: 42 | Height: 6 ft 6 in | Player Caps: 162 Player Goals: 24 | Debut Cycle: 90
Part of the WC squad from WC 73 through WC 81, Rachel Hellion was the set piece artist of the squad, taking almost every corner kick and free kick while being a part of the Anomalies to a tune of 162 caps and 24 goals. (The 162 caps is third all-time behind Keira Andisori and Luuk Aart). At the club level, she was part of a Lammerton squad that was once the club of the Schottic Premier League. After her playing career, Hellion tried her hand at being a physical therapist before getting her certification. She was being actively scouted by several Red League teams (Chromatik, Anomalies, Myana, to name a few) before Sandra Sybill asked her to come along for this massive undertaking.

PHY ImageZoe "Z" Benne | Age 41 | Debut Cycle: 80
Once a heartthrob, Zoe Benne is married to former Chromatik superstar and now White Mountain club manager Erika Morningstar. Zoe has been a constant for eleven cycles now, and has had to treat everything from sprained ankles to serious injuries after the bus sabotage last cycle. She remains a great asset.

SMC ImageShelby Arling | Age: 26 | Debut Cycle: 87
With new management in place, the presence of Arling as the Social Media Coordinator will be very important. All questions go through her, and she takes away any and all distractions.

GOALKEEPERS

GK Juxon FILLAR | Age: 26 | Team: ImageCazadores Cathair | Height: 6 ft 1 in | Caps: 41 Goals Allowed: 40 | Debut Cycle: AOCAF 62 CAPTAIN
Juxon Fillar is the unquestioned #1 on the team after the last few World Cups; the fact that he is only twenty-six is a boon to the Chromatik team in general. Very good at set pieces and one-on-one scenarios, he's become better in transition and also become a leader in the locker room, being third choice for Captaincy. As the oldest of all four Fillars on the roster, he's the unquestionable leader out of this position and will be for many World Cups to come. In Sandra Sybill's new system, he will need to hold down the fort without much help from time to time; thankfully, the experience he's gained as a part of a Champions' League winner in Cazadores Cathair will be of great help.

GK Kathie BEGLEY | Age: 27 | Team: ImageWirr Tsi | Height: 6 ft 2 in | Caps: 10 Goals Allowed: 3 | Debut Cycle: AOCAF 63
Kathie Begley is the best keeper of the Chromatik Red League in the last four seasons, and a master at reading the flow of the game. She's been told that she should look at going abroad, but her love of Chromatik football in the Red League has kept her around. She has stated that this is a huge honor to continue to be included in this squad - and now she is somehow the second best keeper on this roster. To see someone play as important of a position as keeper who started and continued their career in Chromatika is absolutely inspiring, and her presence here is a testament to just how far the Red League itself has come.

GK Jacob DESCOMBES | Age: 29 | Team: ImageMetropolis Alligators | Height: 6 ft 3 in | Caps: 6 Goals Allowed: 8 | Debut Cycle: World Cup 87
Jacob Descombes has come a long way from his days in the CCFA, earning his nickname as "Iceman" as someone who performs very well under pressure. He's expected to fill in as third choice keeper and spell the duo of Juxon and Kathie from time to time. Sporting an almost 1:1 ratio in games started to games allowed, Descombes is someone whose continued future on the squad brings much interest as a late bloomer. Now, he's the veteran of the group, but it's one that is very tight knit - and the fact that he has been through thick and thin makes him a repository of knowledge

RIGHT BACKS

RB Grayson FILLAR | Age: 21 | Team: Image1830 Cathair | Height: 6 ft 3 in | Caps: 21 Goals Scored: 0 | Debut Cycle: AOCAF 63
The long-term answer at Right Back for Chromatika; Second oldest by age but third in order of appearance to the national spotlight amongst the Fillar household, Grayson Fillar is a bullheaded, stubborn, physical right back will will outright impose his will on his opponents. Overshadowed by his younger sister, the electric Baillaire, Grayson was the one who actually chose to finish high school in Chromatika before making the move to 1830 Cathair. Though he says that he's proud of his sister (and he probably is), there is a deeply competitive streak in him that demands that he also make a name for himself atop Chromatika's slew of Fillars. On the pitch, he knows how to use his size to its utmost advantage, almost appearing larger than he is at times. He also understands the importance of momentum and tone, leading to his not being shy to commit a foul if one is needed. He still has a lot to learn, but has a bright future ahead of him, and possesses the most important thing: youth. He'll be the starter in a few cycles.

RB Dina CHAPMAN | Age: 30 | Team: ImageFK Torpedo Pawlograd | Height: 6 ft 4 in | Caps: 25 Goals Scored: 0 | Debut Cycle: AOCAF 61
A pacey Right Back who doesn't mind contributing to the attack by going up the field, Chapman's stock remains at an interesting precipice. On one hand, with the Chromatik game shifting more toward the Centre of the pitch, it makes sense to have defenders with ballhandling skills like Chapman; on the other, it becomes even more important than usual to know how to drop back on a dime and defend the counter. As her strength is on ball placement and knowing how to add two or three passes to the game that wouldn't have come from the backfield otherwise, she will likely be used as strategy seems fit; she does better with two Defensive Midfielders on the pitch at the same time rather than two Attacking Midfielders, for example. Now that Sybill and Hellion are in charge, and Chromatika is going all out on the attack, Chapman will be given license to kill.

CENTER BACKS

CB Henri DE AEA | Age: 30 | Team: ImageSpartangrad | Height: 6 ft 7 in | Caps: 116 Goals Scored: 3 | Debut Cycle: World Cup 80
Henri de Aea has eclipsed a hundred caps, and shows no signs of slowing down. Remaining at large as an aerial defender and a sure tackler, there are even brighter days ahead for the central defender, who is only in the prime of his career. Now in one of Eura's big clubs in Spartangrad, de Aea's career is one that shows just what can happen if someone takes risks. In his eleventh World Cup as a member of the Anomalies, his legend as one of the best players to ever wear the checkered black and white continues to grow every time he steps onto the pitch. On this team, he's the defensive backbone who communicates with the defensive midfield to set up the Chromatik wall in front of Juxon Fillar. A master communicator and a decent tactician, de Aea is a irreplaceable piece of the squad. As Chromatika becomes more offensive, he will have to do the lion's share of the defending - and he's rearing to go.

CB Keira ANBIENT | Age: 27 | Team: ImageKitara Athletic Association | Height: 6 ft 2 in | Caps: 16 Goals Scored: 0 | Debut Cycle: AOCAF 63
Keira Anbient, no relation to Keira Andisori, is described as a pure willpower player first and foremost. She is neither the biggest player on the pitch, the fastest, nor the quickest to the ball; instead, she is just always around where the action is. Having joined Kitara Athletic Association and garnering valuable experience there, Anbient has only become better and better as she gets more used to different situations. Experience will be her best teacher, and as she continues to gain the opportunities in front of her, she'll only get better. She's now in the starting pair with de Aea, and though she does have some room left to go, her patience and hard work is starting to pay off.

CB Klavida RÉGINE | Age: 23 | Team: ImageSt. Thomas | Height: 5 ft 11 in | Caps: 0 Goals Scored: 0 | Debut Cycle: CAFA 1
Though short, Klavida makes up for it with having the busiest feet. Almost like a hound dog at times with how doggedly she pursues anyone that dare cross her, she has been noted to be annoying by her opponents time and time again. With Licentian perennial powerhouses St. Thomas, Régine's emergence as a possible callup has been a phenomenal story to behold. Her feet absolutely never stop moving during the game, and that endless pace results in many a tired opponent. It's time Régine got some time going against the world.

CB Moira ANSOV| Age: 26 | Team: ImageMyana | Height: 6 ft 8 in | Caps: 0 Goals Scored: 0 | Debut Cycle: CAFA 2
Ansov started her career at Brisara FC, then moved to Hanai Breakers - which was the best move of her life. Part of Masterson's defensive scheme, Ansov perfected her skills before jumping ship to join the Myana Islanders. Now, she's one of the last lines of defense ahead of Katerina Olexander, one of the better keepers in the Red League. Ansov is a classic man-to-man defender with some physicality and poise, but her calling card is that of consistency and constant aggression. If she makes it far within the Anomalies, it would be one of the craziest stories to ever come out of the nation - someone who wasn't even on the radar when she graduated from the CCFA.

LEFT BACKS

LB Ha'nei IGHV | Age: 25 | Team: ImageAvenida Leal | Height: 6 ft 1 in | Caps: 12 Goals Scored: 0 | Debut Cycle: AOCAF 62
Ha'nei Ighv is really a midfielder moonlighting at left back with her shooting skills, but insists at playing so far back just to make things challenging. A bit of an insufferable know-it all with a good heart, she likes to pair with Cylie Nodis and create a high-pressing defensive line with the help of the central midfield. She's quite good at scoring a handful of goals every year, and can surprise everyone by the creativity in her play. Now, she's with Avenida Leal, in a league that will allow her to play so offensively. Ighv is the perfect player for Sybill & Hellion's system - and she will have many a chance to score.

LB Ipati AIMÉE | Age: 23 | Team: ImageSt. Thomas | Height: 6 ft 4 in | Caps: 1 Goals Scored: 0 | Debut Cycle: CAFA 1
Ipati is more of a traditional type defender who's quite good at clearing away headers, playing man-to-man, you name it. She went unnoticed for so long before a local writer wrote a piece on her playing style about how she didn't lack much but also wasn't quite good at anything. She filled in for a season at Wirr Tsi, helping the Shock almost complete the three-peat, before being wooed by St. Thomas to play alongside Klavida Régine. Aimée is starting to prove that her CCFA career wasn't a good representation of her potential.

RIGHT WINGERS/MIDFIELDERS

RM/CM WEN Xhose | Age: 29 | Team: ImageYassaca | Height: 6 ft 2 in | Caps: e Goals Scored: 0 | Debut Cycle: CAFA 2
Wen Xhose (Cho-Say)'s career has been an enigma. Picked up on frees by Yassaca, Xhose has been an integral part of the Squornshelan club's dominance domestically and success internatoinally, but he was never scouted nor taken seriously by the CFF until recently. Wen is a one-touch passer and infiltrator who can go unnoticed by the defense until the time is too late, often setting up opportunities before the ball even arrives in dangerous situations. He knows how to play smart, calculated, and deadly football, and on top of it all, he doesn't mind not being the first name that falls off of anyone's lips. For a position that will be overshadowed by the opposite for years to come, these are all great qualities to have - and Wen is finally being given the accolades that he deserves.

RW Emilie KRUETZBERG | Age: 21 | Team: ImageZ'ai'ai Institute of Technology | Height: 6 ft 3 in | Caps: 3 Goals Scored: 0 | Debut Cycle: World Cup 89
Recognizable due to a magnificent mane of red hair, Emilie Kruetzberg is a dynamic playmaker who burst into the scene for the Hellcats. She is a swarmer, endlessly trying to be around the ball on the attacking end to tire out the defender and take the shot. She can be a tad overaggressive at times - she led the CCFA in offside calls last two seasons - but she scores or contributes to scoring chances enough times to make up for it. Expect her to assist whomever is the Striker in the formation with constant pressure in front of the goal.

LEFT WINGERS/MIDFIELDERS

LW Vasiliy Marten KUZNETSOV | Age: 27 | Team: ImageHerzegovina City FC | Height: 6 ft 1 in | Caps: 67 Goals Scored: 30 | Debut Cycle: World Cup 85 VICE CAPTAIN
Kuznetsov is a star who can do it all - drop back and defend, counter, cross, and shoot from range. The sky is the limit for him, and after winning the Champions' League with Kitara AA, he is in his prime and rearing to go. A humble star who knows what he is worth, Kuznetsov only has one thing left to do on his list - take the Chromatik National Team to new heights. With the complete package, he remains the focal point of the Chromatik attack, and the forefront of the new school of Chromatik football where the Left Winger and the Attacking Midfielder take point over the Strikers. Recently transferring to Banijan powerhouse Herzegovina City FC, Kuznetsov's career is at the point where the only thing left to do is to keep winning, if he can make it work.

LW Edith FILLAR | Age: 17 | Team: ImageShamrock Cathair | Height: 5 ft 7 in | Caps: 4 Goals Scored: 5 | Debut Cycle: World Cup 89
The youngest of the Fillars, Edith is the next coming of Megan Kelly, or the Chromatik winger who's short but can run circles around would-be defenders and take over the game due to where she is on the pitch. She may not be the quickest off the ball, but she has the relentlessness that has been present on many great Chromatik wingers. With the mindset of a drill sergeant who is definitely the strictest on herself, Edith's career is just beginning. How is she so high up this list? She has the potential to rise through the ranks like Juxon and Baillaire before her. The day where all four Fillars are starting on the pitch at the same time is coming soon. She is the most mature seventeen year old to ever take to the field, and her size is overshadowed by her heart and her passion for the game.

CENTER MIDFIELDERS

DM Kateryna ZUNIGA | Age: 29 | Team: ImageSabrefell Moths | Height: 6 ft 2 in | Caps: 52 Goals Scored: 2 | Debut Cycle: World Cup 85
Kateryna Zuniga is the annoying man-to-man defender that one can never shake. One of the major players that caused the system shift to a more fluid central midfield, Zuniga is more than happy to see the opportunity to start more games, sometimes even alongside Armageddon. If Armageddon wasn't on this roster, Zuniga would be the #1 starter in a heartbeat. She isn't too mad about that - it's fun to play alongside greatness, after all. Zuniga and Armageddon will have their hands full helping out the defense.

AM Haley HAUSER | Age: 27 | Team: ImageSpartangrad | Height: 6 ft 7 in | Caps: 42 Goals Scored: 23 | Debut Cycle: AOCAF 62
Haley Hauser is the shoot first, ask questions later attacking midfielder, scoring more than one goal every two appearances. Now playing for a strong Euran side in Spartangrad, Hauser will actually start alongside Mora when the Chromatika go for the two Attacking MIdfielders lineup. She now has the chance to thrive and be one of the biggest scoring threats on this roster alongside VMK. Hauser is reportedly absolutely thrilled about working with Sybill and Hellion, and will be given authority to shoot from any range.

AM Baillaire FILLAR | Age: 20 | Team: Image1830 Cathair | Height: 6 ft 3 in | Caps: 27 Goals Scored: 14 | Debut Cycle: AOCAF 62
Baillaire Fillar is the flashiest of the Fillars. She subscribes to the Hermaeus Mora/Haley Hauser school of Attacking Midfielders, marrying both styles by shooting first and asking questions later while making deep runs into opposing territory. With a creative and dramatic flair that doesn't really exist in other Chromatiks from the past, Baillaire is a playmaker through and through. With Hellion and Sybill in charge, Baillaire will become more and more integral to the Chromatik attack.

DM Kaia LARRIET-CORTES | Age: 22 | Team: ImageLa Nueva Avenida | Height: 6 ft 5 in | Caps: 26 Goals Scored: 2 | Debut Cycle: AOCAF 62
Kaia Larriet-Cortes is third in a line of very capable defensive midfielders behind Enigma Armageddon and Kateryna Zuniga. She grabs the attention due to her last name. Niece to the late Franscesca Larriet-Cortes, Chromatika's first Manager and martyr in the Rainbow Revolution, Kaia is an even-keeled Defensive Midfielder who is best described as a younger, female Enigma Armageddon. Both of them are imposing, both of them lead on the pitch, and both of them know how to contribute offensively when needed. Where Enigma commands attention by physical presence, hers is more subtle, being in all the right places at right times. She is often the visionary on the pitch.

DM Mare SI | Age: 26 | Team: ImageYassaca | Height: 6 ft 1 in | Caps: 8 Goals Scored: 0 | Debut Cycle: AOCAF 63
Mare Si is easily the best complete center midfielder in CCFA history. She started off as a holding midfielder and then developed her shooting game to incorporate set pieces as well. The complete package, she'll play the defensive midfielder who has the capability to shoot if the opposition is caught napping. On the squad, she is known as the team's patient assassin, as her playmaking ability increases the longer the game goes. Having tasted success with Yassaca, Mare's trajetory doesn't show any signs of slowing down anytime soon.

AM Alissar PHOEN | Age: 24 | Team: ImageDynamo Sjoedrhavn | Height: 6 ft 2 in | Caps: 12 Goals Scored: 3 | Debut Cycle: CAFA 1
Alissar Phoen's stock rose like a rocket with Chromia Central College University. An ambidextrous shooter who actually prefers range to up close, his creativity and dramatic scoring ability was what led to his collegiate success and helped him land a spot in Savojarna. Many are wondering if this can be replicated in the international scene; he's done well for himself in Savojana, and with the fact that he's not quite twenty-five yet, there is still a lot to be decided in his young career.

STRIKERS

ST Alicia GAINSBOURG | Age: 30 | Team: ImageGT Molding | Height: 6 ft 4 in | Caps: 30 Goals Scored: 15 | Debut Cycle: AOCAF 62
Alicia Gainsbourg has a good head and an even better left foot. She rose to prominence and went to Molding; it's been an interesting career in Græntfjall so far but her presence on the national team is a welcome one. She doesn't really fit the current Chromatik attacking model either, but can provide the creative spark that could be the edge that Chromatika needs to put games away against the opposition. She should be the first choice striker by the end of the Qualifiers.

ST Hank KILLIAN | Age: 22 | Team: ImageBlackfields | Height: 6 ft 1 in | Caps: 0 Goals Scored: 0 | Debut Cycle: World Cup 90
A pure playmaker who's willing to do it all, or in some cases, too much at times. Needs to learn when to rein it in. Killian went to the Euran Oceanian Territories and made a killing for himself at Oslograd Academy, becoming one of the better strikers. Now, he's moved up to Blackfields. Killian can sometimes try to do too much, but as long as he keeps the field in front of him, he has so much potential.
FIRST CHOICE STARTING XI (4-2-3-1):

Geektopia CoH Itu Information ǂ Although each WC cycle now seniors a Geektopian person by 306.36 years, there is an until now unspecified three year rift between separate World Cup qualifying competitions and CoHs which are in the same cycle. Minimum and maximum ages for footy players from the country are 1,656 through 4,140. These minimums and maximums lie roughly between 4,232 and 6,440 regarding managers (this meaning that Dingledine in WCQ88 was as old as Australia iirc). ǂ To the Quarterfinals: Attempt 3

• #31 Huve (Forward, L, 1762 years) [NP — A born leader in the social circles he heads, Huve is considered to be pretty fair headed. Hojnacki has yet to realize this, but he will when he dominantly assumes the spot for a penalty kick. In general conversation, his intelligence and wit makes him look as if he were as smart as a whip, with humor to boost. Conversely, these two traits are his problem areas when it comes to football, where confidence is in sparse amounts also.] [2T] [LC]

• #6 Germaine Sophie (Midfielder, 2412 years) [NP — An ex-gridiron player who is mostly known for how mindbogglingly stupid his post-game interviews in the World Bowl competitions of old came off as. His aggressiveness and playing style are a perfect showcase of how Sophie doesn't run it through before he acts. Although there is a difference when seeing someone having a natural talent for the creative and the unpredictable as opposed to making unconventional and idiotic blunders on the pitch, Germaine Sophie possesses both of these characteristics.] [1T]
• #7 Abdill (Midfielder/Forward, 2706 years) [1T]
• #8 Matkowski (Midfielder, 3012 years) [NP — Went to a training camp because of self-confidence issues and is now the primary choice for throw-ins. From Matkowski's impressive progress, he unknowingly coerced Dingledine that the more powerful a throw-in was, the more important to know who threw it in the first place. Looking into Matkowski's personal record, it's thirty five yards, at least ten more than the second longest distance by another countryman, Julio.] [1T]

• #15 Lazzari (Forward, 2682 years) [NP — Lazzari's play style is speckled with fire on top of intensity, and for a Central Striker, he has countless traits that belong to a defender, like being excellent at slide tackling and possessing a ball recovery rate of eighty-eight percent in his seventy eight appearances as a forward at The Stinemates United. Almost never gets injured.] [1T]

• #20 Rinnert (Forward, 3462 years) [1T]
• #21 Higginbottom (Goalkeeper, 2412 years) [3T]
• #22 Lertora (Goalkeeper, 3012 years) [NP — Once said, "Imagine being a goalkeeper with the jersey number 1 and still not starting.".] [1T]

• #28 Ogrodowski (Defender, 2487 years) [3T]
• #29 Diminno (Midfielder/Defender, 2787 years) [NP — Isn't as mouthy as before, but Diminno's teammates and colleagues miss the whimsical, childish motivational advice he gave to others as if a talking jokebook. An element of happiness was taken from the team when newly appointed manager and workout expert Hojnacki told "Dimi", as his compatriots call him, to "straighten up".] [1T]
• #30 Ponti (Midfielder, 2712 years) [1T]
• #32 Knake (Goalkeeper, 3612 years) [3T]
• #33 Pitter (Midfielder, 3162 years) [NP — Up one file from a ball-sweeping defender to a ball-sweeping midfielder, Pitter made and adjusted to the change as soon as he was asked to by his manager who also holds one secondary job as a fitness coach.] [1T]
• #35 Ratter (Defender, 2337 years) [3T] [NP — Down one file from a midfielder to a well positioned defender. The gaffer, as well as adjusting positions spryly, adjusted the hell out of Ratter's attitude when he first opposed the move, only after understanding that his shift of posture was essential to keeping the faith regarding one familiar 3-4-3 formation played throughout the last three years of World Cup Qualifying was Ratter able to be punctual in training sessions.
• #69 Lierin Minilinsirtaytfah Y Nayj (Defender [Full-Back], 2462 years) [2T] [NP — Lierin gets a start for the national team bench after leading O.K. Rod Guafre, and for some time, the division in goal involvements. Though he is not considered by himself or others to be at home yet in the national team, the fitness coach and manager Hojnacki plans to make his intentions known by kicking off his second long-term fitness project: making it so that Lierin maintains healthy blood pressure levels via carefully stabilized strength training and cardio hybrid workouts, lays off the artificial sweeteners, and maximizes fat loss without hindering gains. This is off the back of Project Swadley, where he diagnosticated Swadley into a well-oiled machine over the WC89 cycle, making it so that he is only slightly more athletic than Lertora and Higginbottom and more likely to challenge Lertora for a spot in the eleven.

OUTGOING PLAYERS (+1)

DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF ABANHFLEFT
NATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL TEAM - WOMEN

This is Ginny Katesmar's last chance to get the Democratic Republic some football silverware. If she fails this task, it's game over for her. No more second chances, no more "one try." When the SFA say it's over after the Cup of Harmony (no matter the result), it's over. It's been a fun time, but it's time to move on.

BASIC INFORMATION
Name of nation: Democratic Republic of Abanhfleft
Demonym: Fleftic
Team colors: Blue, orange, and green
Style modifier: +3.00
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Manager: Ginny Katesmar (56 y/o, North Prarie)

STARTERS
GK: Bronwyn CHURCHILL 30 y/o, Rosenpfelblatz City Women Image
Bronwyn is the daughter of Rosenpfelblatz City's new manager Joseph "Joe" Churchill, one of the most decorated managers in the sport within the Fleftic sphere of influence. Bronwyn came with her dad to Rosenpfelblatz and immediately settled in well with the Lady Sky Blues' academy. She is a traditional keeper who prefers to keep close to goal and catch or slap away shots from that position, although she is learning to become a more athletic keeper now that she's training with the likes of Yannie Redborne, Marfa Kirilenko, and Blaze Chrzanowska. She's been elevated to starting goalie because Stephanie Bryan is off playing for the over-35 national team in the World Cup of Masters in Sarzonia.

RB: Queen YARNALL 27 y/o, Admiral Porcusces Women Image
A quiet and sturdy defender who for her age is already making waves not only in the youth leagues but also in her handful of appearances for the Admiral Porcusces Women senior team. Still needs some work obviously but she could have a very high ceiling indeed.

RCB: Christy SHEPLEY 31 y/o, Rosenpfelblatz City Women Image
At 6 feet 2 inches, Christy is already one of the tallest 17-year-old Fleftic central defenders ever in the Democratic Republic and its sphere of influence. Coupled with a supernatural defensive ability, it's a wonder why she's still on the bench and not starting, until one realizes that Christy is quite the thin and willowy girl. She's a good defender and good in aerial and dead-ball situations, there's no doubt about that, but it's still very much child's play to get her off of the ball, and applying the slightest amount of pressure turns Christy into a headless chicken.

LCB: Tiera WALRATH 29 y/o, Ogovlich Medusas Image
One quarter of the Ogovlich backline that won them the Youth Premier League title this season. Like Wilton Kaba beside her in the under-18 team, Tiera's main purpose is to win balls inside the box and then kick it right out of the danger area. Accuracy needs a bit of work though.

LB: Georgine BAUM 30 y/o, Pascal Mashu Image (Kita-Hinode)
Another player with foreign roots playing for the Democratic Republic. This time, Georgine's parents are immigrants, or rather expats, from Pridnestrovia, who escaped the country after her father said a few things that were not to President Field Marshal Stepan Stepanenko's liking. For a long time she was forced to play on the right but now she's back to her preferred left back position after some years being hung out to dry by the SFA. Surprisingly enough, her time playing in right back hasn't turned her into an ambidextrous threat. Maybe it was never meant to be.

RM: Trinidad KLEIST 32 y/o, Xemlice Rovers Ladies Image
Trinnie Kleist was always tipped to become a hard, no-nonsense midfielder who doesn't let the opposition get past her, and for once she actually developed into one such player. She's also matured to the point where she now times her tackles wisely and does them only when necessary. Still doesn't stop some referees whipping out the cards on Trinnie just because her reputation precedes her.

LM: Cecily SEGOVIA 32 y/o, Riuwiee United Women Image
CeCe Segovia is the creative foil to Trinnie Kleist's defensive midfielder. The Oontaz-born central midfielder is the creative outlet for the midfield, setting up passes and long balls to initiate the attack. But that doesn't mean she shirks from her defensive responsibilities. Still, like Trinnie, CeCe is still a bit enthusiastic with the sliding tackles and will get her name on the referee's notebook a fair few times.

RW: Elene LINER 30 y/o, Sarvusdalamoive Ladies Image
Even at her young age, Elene already has the look of a future fantastic keeper. Well, what else can be said about the Sarvusdalamoive Football Academy, which has turned out great Fleftic keepers like Maksim Varamoninov and Victoria Carter? Unfortunately, she's slipped down the pecking order, but only because Brook Arzate deserves the chance to start this time. She had a lot to make up for after that emotionally devastating penalty shootout loss against Schottia in the 9th Under-15 World Cup and she ended up not having the mental strength to get over the disappointment of the shootout so she decided to become a striker instead. This way she hopes to emulate some of Abanhfleft's star forwards like Matthew Cave and Ruud Akinfenyor who started off as goalkeepers and then decided to make the move up to the top of the pitch.

CAM: Prudence WOODWARD 30 y/o, Duhblakk Aztecs Image
Prudence Woodward is the third and final player of Panemian descent to represent the blue, orange, and green for the Sporting World Cup after Guildenstern Cardew and Poppaea Fleet-Street. Prudence has a taste for clever through-balls and occupying pockets of space in which she could create chances and even score a few goals herself. She became a mother after a one-night stand with fellow under-18 teammate Prince William Luckless, but she wants to emulate her fellow single mother footballer in Claudine Samaniego in having both a stable family and a good football career.

LW: Amelie RUSEV 30 y/o, Ludogorets Markovsky Ladies Image
Amelie Rusev is definitely the complete winger package now. Not only is she both quick and light on her feet and strong in the air and during challenges, she is ambidextrous, able to use both feet to send in long balls and crosses into the box when she wants. With that added crossing ability, Amelie has already cemented her place in the first team of Ludogorets Markovsky Ladies. As for being the next Miss Ludogorets though, for some reason the fans are reluctant to give her that unofficial title. Who knows why?

ST: Kelly McGINNIS 30 y/o, Hoventon & Corlington Town Image (Mercedini)
Kelly McGinnis could very well be the next Chelsea Stuart, and not just because she's become the starting striker for the Fleftic women's national football team. Kelly moved abroad to Mercedini's Hoventon & Corlington Town to continue her development as a striker, but almost a decade later and she's not won much with the Mercedinian side. She wants more, and if moving away from Hoventon & Corlington Town is the way to get it, then she'll just have to make the move.

RESERVES
GK: Deanna HERRING 22 y/o, Arsenal de Releinthi Women Image
Abanhfleft and Ginny Katesmar are taking a risk bringing two under-23 goalkeepers for this tournament as backup to Bronwyn Churchill, but then again, this is supposed to be a bunch of tune-up games after all. Deanna was rated enough by Kate Bernanos to be the starting goalkeeper for what could be Abanhfleft's last Di Bradini Cup for a while, but for the Mike Sarzo Memorial Trophy she's only good enough to warm the bench for Rona Churchill.

GK: Mihaela HRISTOVA 22 y/o, Rosenpfelblatz City Women Image
Mihaela was the third-string goalkeeper for the under-21 side in Di Bradini Cup 49 for Abanhfleft. She's still third-string here in Muralos, but now it's for the senior women's team itself. It's like a promotion but also not really one.

RB: Christina SINGLETERRY 22 y/o Wanda Island Wanderers Women Image
Christina is already a formidable defender with very good pace who can close down on opposing forwards before the goalkeeper even needs to come out of her area. Unfortunately for her though, the other areas of her game are weak, to put it mildly. Her stamina is weak, her technique is weak, and her passing leaves a lot to be desired.

CB: Brooke AUGUSTYN 31 y/o, Dinamo Bender Women Image (Pridnestrovia)
Augustyn didn't exactly become one of the best fullbacks to come out of Abanhfleft, but at least her career wasn't sidelined by too many injuries either. After a decent showing with Eielo Sunlight Women, she made the leap to Pridnestrovia and Dinamo Bender Women where she did well enough to make her way back to the national team.

CB: Skye EREVE 22 y/o Xemlice Rovers Ladies Image
Although Skye's skills as a defender may only appear to be adequate to many people's eyes, she more than makes up for it by her other skills, such as rapid race to close down on the opposing forwards, and she can also act as a ball-playing defender thanks to her technique and formidable passing skills. the only thing currently keeping her out of the Fleftic starting eleven is the far bigger experience of Tiera Walrath with the senior national team.

LB: Tien GOODLETT 28 y/o, Ogovlich Medusas Image
The second quarter of the Ogovlich backline that won the Youth Premier League. Tien is more of an attacking fullback who likes to maraud further up the pitch and assist in the attack. She still gets back in defense more times than not but a particularly quick counterattack could still leave her stranded where she can be of no help to her fellow defenders.

RM: SIBUSIZWE Kiggwancha 28 y/o, Athletic Motonou Image
SIbusizwe's greatest strength lies in the fact that she can win the ball in midfield more times than not. Of course, most of this is against girls and boys on or nearly the same age as she is, but when she turned out for Athletic Motonou's senior side in the last few matchdays of the Ladies' Third Division season (with the title already wrapped up for Motonou) Sibusizwe looked capable of doing much the same thing against players who were much older and much more experienced than her. Now, she may be older but she's still no closer to being able to show this side of her game regularly because of manager philosophies and better players becoming available for call-up to the national team.

CM: Poppaea FLEET-STREET 31 y/o, Ogovlich Medusas Image
Poppaea is a rock-solid midfielder with decent ball distribution skills but still has a tendency to go all in on tackles, especially sliding ones. She came out as a lesbian at a young age and has been a pillar in the local LGBTQ sporting community, so when she got dropped from the national team for other midfielders who are better at playing in midfield than her, there was an outcry. The situation calmed down through the years though, and now she's back in the national setup.

LM: Charlene WILLIAMSON 31 y/o, Admiral Porcusces Women Image
Charlene Williamson is the overlooked twin sister of Gareth Williamson. The reasons why she's been overlooked is because her main assets in football are mostly pace, acceleration, physicality, and a good long ball. Charlene can also run with the ball or chase it for 90 minutes and anyone stupid enough to try to take the ball away from her would find themselves on the ground almost immediately. Strangely though, Charlene's physicality tends to vanish during set pieces and Charlene could now count herself lucky if she doesn't end up kissing the grass while trying to get a touch on a corner or a free kick. Perhaps that's why Sporting Ceneisis allowed her to go to their provincial rivals Admiral Porcusces. Now that's one transfer the Blues regretted deeply.

RW: Sohaila MAGOMEDOVA 32 y/o, Exiles FK Image (Pridnestrovia)
Sohaila is one of Heinrich Wurzmann's latest finds from the Alternative Football Program. Her idols growing up were tricky players like Finn Jameson, Ruud Akinfenyor, and Matthew Cave, and Sohaila certainly has the feet to emulate them. She has indeed turned into one of the best right wingers Abanhfleft has to offer, but her decision to move to lower league Pridnestrovian side Exiles FK has cost her many a call-up with the national team. Until now, that is.

CF: Hiroko KELLERMAN 24 y/o, Rosenpfelblatz City Women Image
Kellerman won the Golden Boot in the Fleftic Premier Development League 1 with a 23-goal haul in the 2028-29 season, earning her a promotion up to the senior women's team where she continued her goalscoring form with 21 goals for 2029-30, making her the highest goalscorer of the Citizens that season. She earned a call-up to the under-21 team for the 48th Di Bradini Cup, where she was one of the few bright spots in an otherwise disastrous campaign which once again convinced the SFA to boycott the Di Bradini Cup for real and permanently this time.

LW: Claudia ROOS 31 y/o, Arsenal de Releinthi Women Image
Claudia finally made the move from left back to left winger, a move that worked out well in the end for her, what with her pace, crossing ability, and incisive runs into the box. However, injuries have plagued her career and forced her out of contention for a call-up for much of what should have been the best years of her career, but now it looks like she's about to turn the whole thing around and become a late bloomer along the lines of a certain Tristan Lee.

THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF ESTORVIPA AND ESTORPIVA
NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM

The Federal Republic of Estorvipa and Estorpiva is a federal union between two states, the Federation of Estorvipa and the Republic of Estorpiva, created on 22 November 2019 after the two states agreed to unite together and present a combined front against the other rebel sides in the Estorian Civil War. The Federal Republic is backed by the Democratic People's Republic of the United Socialist States of Pridnestrovia (or just Pridnestrovia for short), which was an ally of the old Estorvipan People's Republic before it collapsed into numerous competing factions and states, and Pridnestrovia decided that the Federal Republic was the most stable nation-state that they could support in this war. But despite being backed by a "socialist" nation and adopting some socialist imagery, the Federal Republic is a democratic republic with free and fair elections for the 27 million people under its governance, and its ultimate aim is to reunite the Vipan and Pivan lands peacefully, but if the Federal Republic must use force to restore peace and order in the land then it will certainly do so.

BASIC INFORMATION
Name of nation: Federal Republic of Estorvipa and Estorpiva
Demonym: Estorian
Team colors: Yellow. blue, and red
Style modifier: -2.00
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Head coach: Branislav Vinogradovsky (56 y/o, male, Pridnestrovia)

STARTERS
GK: Fiodor ENIN 34 y/o, male, Dinamo Macaresti (Pridnestrovia)
By all accounts, he is a brilliant keeper who has everything going for him. He can stop shots from almost anywhere on the pitch, and he can also come out of his area and sweep opposing forwards off their feet if needed. The only reason why he's on the bench is because Traian Pantilimon has been selected to be the first Estorian goalkeeper in the Federal Republic's history, but Enin is expected to take his place starting from the second game in the Baptism of Fire.

RB: Florian KESSLER 27 y/o, male, Exiles FK (Pridnestrovia)
He was not originally a citizen of Estorvipa, although his mother was a Vipan who moved to the Ixanian Socialist State in Pridnestrovia and married a local man. This thus qualified him to acquire Estorian citizenship when the time came, and he moved from Wormatia Wewelsburg to Exiles FK in preparation for representing the Federal Republic in international football. He is a solid defender with solid pace and not much else, but that's good enough for the Federal Republic while it works on developing the stars of the future.

RCB: Demyan BIRKOV 28 y/o, male, Exiles FK (Pridnestrovia)

LCB: Markus KRASNENKO 25 y/o, male, Exiles FK (Pridnestrovia)
He is a Vipan refugee who used to live in St. Paulsburg and played for a semi-professional football side in the city before the Estorian Civil War. He was originally conscripted into the Estorvipan People's Army, but his regiment defected to Field Marshal Petar Antonic's Estorvipan Liberation Army near the beginning of the civil war. He surrendered to the Pridnestrovian Army after teh end of the Battle of St. Paulsburg and took advantage of the offer of asylum extended by the Pridnestrovians in the aftermath of the Treaty of Kotelnirovo. He was soon signed by Exiles FK where he made a name ofr himself as a good defender, but his pace and technique are definitely lacking compared to other defenders in the Pridnestrovian league system.

LB: Holden KRASTENKOVIC 22 y/o, male, Exiles FK (Pridnestrovia)
Another Vipan refugee who fled to Pridnestrovia after the first withdrawal of Pridnestrovian troops from Estorian lands due to the Treaty of Kotelnirovo. He was originally from the northern city of Tarkovska, now the de facto capital of the Estorvipan Commune, and had made the arduous journey to the Pridnestrovian-occupied south on foot, evading Communard and Imperial military patrols in order to secure a ride to Pridnestrovia alongside other refugees and pro-leftist Vipans and Pivans seeking to flee the Estorian nation before the Communards enacted their anti-leftist purges. Despite having never picked up a football before in his life, he was recruited to Exiles FK, where he has surprisingly developed into an average defender with brilliant pace and average passing skills.

RM: Stanislav VINOGRADOVSKY 34 y/o, male, Exiles FK (Pridnestrovia)
He is the son of the manager of the Estorian national football team, but Branislav Vinogradovsky was unaware that he had sired a child during his time in Estorvipa until Stanislav arrived in Pridnestrovia along with thousands of other Estorian refugees fleeing their country once it had come under the fold of the Imperium and their puppet factions. Because of this, Stanislav holds a grudge against his father, a grudge that he uses to motivate him into going all-in with his tackles against the opposition.

LM: Serafina POTRITSKIJ 24 y/o, female, Exiles FK (Pridnestrovia)
Her main function in the midfield is to distribute the ball and take the occasional pot shot at goal if given the chance. She can run back and help in the defense if needed, but her primary function is to spread the ball around the pitch for the attacking Estorian players to latch onto and put the goal under threat. If the ball happens to end up right back on her feet during that sequence then she has license to fire a shot on target or pass to another teammate to start the cycle anew.

RW: ROBERTO Kunaplenko 22 y/o, male, Exiles FK (Pridnestrovia)
Twin brother of Roberta Kunaplenko. He is the son of the former Estorvipan ambassador to the Sultanate of Oontaz, Venyamin Kunaplenko, who fell in love with a local woman whom he would eventually marry. The Kunaplenkos had been living quietly in Rybolovlev when the Pridnestrovian intervention in the Estorian Civil War happened, and the family soon fell under suspicion because of good relations between the Sultanate of Oontaz and Pridnestrovia. The Kunaplenko family fled to Pridnestrovia alongside the first withdrawal of Pridnestrovian troops, and the twins were recruited to play for Exiles FK alongside other Vipan and Pivan refugees. He is a fast winger with incredible pace and outstanding technique but has a marked inability to cross the ball into the box. This is in contrast to his twin sister who is a faster winger and better crosser but can't escape out of a sticky situation.

CAM: Arseniy DAVYDOV 28 y/o, male, Exiles FK (Pridnestrovia)
Most of his experience in football was playing for the works team of the old Estorvipan People's Army, but that had to take a back seat to soldiering when the Estorian Civil War broke out and he had to fight against the numeropus rebel factions that had sprung up in Estorvipa after being emboldened by the success of the Estorvipan Commune in separating from the south. Like many soldiers who surrendered to the Pridnestrovians during the war, he took advantage of their offer of asylum after the signing of the Treaty of Kotelnirovo because he knew that the Communards would go after soldiers of the Estorvipan People's Army because they had fought for a "socialist leader" before Vissarion Zhivkov switched allegiances to the Imperium and their Inselberg pact. While officially his position is central attacking midfielder, his seeming inability to string together two successful passes has turned him more into a false nine or a second striker operating behind Fabian Prasutagusic.

LW: ROBERTA Kunaplenko 22 y/o, female, Exiles FK (Pridnestrovia)
Twin sister of Roberto Kunaplenko. She is the daughter of the former Estorvipan ambassador to the Sultanate of Oontaz, Venyamin Kunaplenko, who fell in love with a local woman whom he would eventually marry. She is a very fast winger with outstanding pace and average playmaking ability but can't escape out of a sticky situation. This is in contrast to her twin brother who has incredible pace and outstanding technique but also a marked inability to cross the ball into the box.

ST: Fabian PRASUTAGUSIC 26 y/o, male, Exiles FK (Pridnestrovia)
He is pretty much the star player for this Estorian team. He personally refused to recognize any of the other warring factions in the Estorian Civil War as legitimate, and he was of the opinion that the northern Estorvipan Commune was nothing but a bunch of blood traitors willing to sell out themselves and their own country in exchange for favors from the Imperium. He was a product of CSKA Tiraspol's academy, and while he was nothing special in the Army Club, he had turned into a superstar striker once he moved to Exiles FK, and he looks to replicate this performance for the Estorian national team.

RESERVES
GK: Sashka VIDANOVA 28 y/o, female, FK Spartak Rybolovlev (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
She's just setting the Federal Top League alight with the number of crazy save highlights she produces game by game. She's pretty much a younger female version of Fiodor Enin with the way she stops shots and rushes at opposing forwards, and she is expected to alternate games with Enin after Traian Pantilimon has played his one and only game for the Federal Republic.

GK: Yaroslav SHCHETININ 21 y/o, male, FK Mamai Ihorovtsi (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
The future of the Estorian goalkeeping position looks very bright with him in between the sticks. He's already doing the job for Mamai Ihorovtsi, and local managers are praising him for his divine goalkeeping skills. His only weakness is that his passing is a bit poor, and opponents might be able to take advantage of that once he plays for the national team.

DF: Nona SERGEYEVA 27 y/o, female, Dinamo Bender Women (Pridnestrovia)
Not only is she a good defender but she is also a good aerial threat. She can defend against taller opponents and she can also score headers if needed. Her only downsides are that she's somewhat slow and that she gets tired easily, hence why she's been kept on the bench instead of being a regular starter for the national team.

DF: Dencho TIMNEV 22 y/o, male, Ufa Verkhovyansk (Pridnestrovia)
He's an excellent defender by any means, capable of either helping play the ball out of the back or keeping up with those fast and tricky forwards trying to bear down on the Estorian goal. His only downside is that he is nowhere near as good in the air as he is on the ground which, for someone as tall as he is (at 177 cm) is a bit of a liability on the pitch.

DF: Dzyamid USHKEVICH 22 y/o, male, Metallurgist Beledor (Pridnestrovia)
Under most circumstances, he wouldn't be able to make the national teams of most other nations, but given that the Federal Republic is in need of players to represent it on the international stage, Ushkevich has been given the chance to prove himself worthy of representing this new state to the rest of the world. He can defend, he can head the ball, and he can dribble his way out of a few sticky situations, but he's still a bit too raw to start a game in most cases.

DF: Nicu Marian RĂILEANU 22 y/o, male, FK Spartak Rybolovlev (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
All the necessary elements for a solid and outstanding wingback are all there; all he really needs to do now is to gain experience in both club and international football and he's going to be playing under the colors of the Federal Republic of years to come. But until then, he will have to make do with some appearances from the bench.

MF: Ignjatije ATANACKOVIĆ 20 y/o, male, FK Traktor St. Paulsburg (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
He may be young but he's already got the makings of a very good central midfielder within him. He can make things happen from almost anywhere on the pitch, and he has the speed to both attack the goal and defend his own side if needed. If only he didn't get gassed so easily then maybe he could make a case for being included in the starting eleven more times than not.

MF: Rada Mladenova KOSTOVA 24 y/o, female, CSK Armiya Supskij (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
She is a very good playmaker who can make things happen from the middle of the pitch. Her good passing and solid pace also means that she can put in a defensive shift if needed, but she is really more suited to orchestrating attacks on the opponent. However, the less said about her ability to put the ball into the back of the net, the better.

MF: Rahmatullo RODIN 23 y/o, male, Masyafspor (Pridnestrovia)
He is everything that Arseniy Davydov is: a brilliant playmaker with a keen eye for both his teammates and the goal who can also put in defensive shifts if needed. The only reason why Davydov is starting over Rodin is because Davydov is a more polished and complete player than Rodin right now, but now we know what Rodin could look like once he becomes the finished product.

FW: Viktoriya ZALUZHENKO 19 y/o, female, FC Foc Feuerstadt (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
At a young age, she's already making a name for herself in the small and nascent Federal Top League of the Federal Republic. She has the accuracy and the fancy footwork to set her up for a good future in football, but apart from those skills, she still needs to develop a lot more before she can start thinking about pursuing a starting spot.

FW: Marek LEMISH 22 y/o, male, FC Dinamo Durdenville (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
He's a very good striker; there's no denying that. But the problem is that Fabian Prasutagusic is even better than him, and there are also some things that Lemish will need to work on if he wishes to become a success in this Estorian team; things such as his stamina and passing. Other than that, he's actually a remarkably good player.

FW: Lazar ANKOV 23 y/o, male, FK Pridnestrovskaya Gavan (Pridnestrovia)
Another very good striker in the ranks. This time, the problem with him is that he is very much a defensive liability, meaning that it's best not to have him trying to defend much because he's just poor at it. That, coupled with surprisingly weak passing on his part means that it is easier to nab the ball from him than from other players, thus why he remains on the bench.

The Starsian National Football Team is The 14 Stars's national squad in association soccer competitions for national associations across the entire multiverse world of soccer.
There have been alot of changes since their last appearance in the World Cup 88 qualifiers, the sole governing body of the Starsian soccer industry had been disbanded and replaced by the Starsian Soccer Association or SSA for short.
Along with this the special techniques and post-human capabilities of the Starsian players have been banned from all competitions and by the domestic association after what happened in the Starsian - Vilita match where it was shown that this power was too dangerous for the sport and shouldn't be used.

Lastly alot of the old guard had been replaced, everyone in the old team was almost 30+ with mid-tournament a few younger additions although it was of no importance anymore.
Only Maximillian Flare, Alan White, Morris Valerian and Nicolay Moon are remaining from the original squad.

Marcus Blade after the disgraceful presence was fired as the team's coach, although there was a problem that the new association had forgotten to look into before doing this.
They forgot that there was a lack of proper coaches and there currently were aside from Marcus Blade and his staff no good coaches with the ability to manage a team at such high level.
This was solved by looking abroad, in Eshialand where The 14 Stars had their debut against the industry was also in need of more opportunity to improve and increase skill.
James Landry and his companion Steven Young were asked by the association and they agreed to manage the Starsian side and hopefully lead it to new heights.

Tactical Set-Up

The Starsian side is a very skilled team with a very high team chemistry and morale combining it with their quick paced game they are an opponent for all teams to watch out for due to their offensive style.
They play in a 4-3-3 which through the match can be changed to various other formations suiting the game that they play however they are an offensive team loving to have possesion of the ball.
It is know the Starsian team loves game control, taking the initiative and play their best, they are more willing to play a great game of soccer rather then simply getting a good result.

Star players

Calvin Princeton
Its hard to be a goalkeeper and a star player at the same time, however this individual Calvin Princeton shows that it is more then possible with his spirit and motivational character.
He is a reliable pillar of support for the team both on and off the field who knows his teammates and what drives them, combined with some incredible goalkeeping talent hes is the number 1 goalie of the country now.
Others describe him as a sort of big brother to them, he can listen to others very well although he is not really talkative when he isn't in goal or doing anything soccer related.
He is the mark of a new generation of goalies that play more daring and play with the team instead of leading them.

Alan White
It is hard to be a veteran in a team with young players all around you, Nicolay Moon has retired from the national team and their captain Valerian has been gone too.
With those friends going away and Maximillian also retiring in not too long he remains as only veteran in a team full of newbies and younger players he has nothing in common with.
However this doesn't stop him from trying, he was one of the youngest of the old team and now he is one of the oldest and aims to give a good example for the youth so they can get the best out of themselves.
He also has a leading role now in the team, one he rather didn't had but in the light of current events he feels it as his responsibility both to himself and to Valerian to make happen what he started.
His defensive skill is unmatched though, his experience and his great judgement of an opponent is what makes his moves on point and rarely failing although he always plays on safe.

Maximillian Flare
Without a doubt the most famous and also the oldest member of the team, Maximillian has always been known as the new ace and holds multiple records as the most scoring player internationally ever.
Maximillian in his younger age replaced Marcus Blade the ex-coach and ever since had a great friendship with him and learnt all he knows from Marcus as he went on the coach the national side quite long.
Now with a new coach and staff coming in it also means a new generation is ready to take center stage, Maximillian has confirmed that he will shine one last time this year and will then resign from the national team.
He always had been a skilled, experienced and very inspirational player dominating the air with his speciality in volleys, headers and the likes scoring the most beautiful of goals throughout his career.
But every career comes to an end one day, but that does not mean he'll disappear.

Kira Blade
The woman that everyone is looking out for, the next generation's leading light and the daughter of national hero and Phoenix academy coach Marcus Blade is the new up and coming star of the team.
While very young her skill is unmatched, Kira is able to read the flow of the game, adapt to her opponents and keep evolving herself even within a match she will always keep getting better which each time she plays.
Inherting her father insane scoring ability and spead she is more of a technical player and gets easily fouled on because she is known as the best player of the team and quickest, however her team play is very strong with the older members aswell and she shares a good friendship with Maximillian Flare.

About the Manager

Shane Newman is a Baker Park born, who took the chance to become the first NT boss for Havynwilde with an understanding that he would have time & resources to build from scratch. He was hounded by negative media coverage, the unrealisitc expectations of supporters & the governing body, and no investment to correct the dearth of talent in the domestic league. He was unceremoniously fired while out of the country on holiday. He'll consider his time there a learning experience. Was the chief defensive architect for the BPNT in the first three WC cycles.Aged 49 and married with three children--a boy and two girls--he will look to the domestic league for talent by focusing on technique, pace, and positional flexibility.

The Playing XI

#1 Steve Leghorn (Goalkeeper)
Steve Leghorn, that name when spoken in Indusse creates a legendary vibe. If anyone asks an Indussean who's your favourite goalkeeper, they would say without wasting a second that it's none other than Steve. Steve is well known due to his performance and his charitable trust. He's a well known figure in the nation who could be a political mastermind. He started his career in Trau de Mongers FC, a local football club in Southbay which soon died after his transfer. His quality performance in the club got him a direct ticket to Southbay Riveria FC B team and soon into the main team. He played for three seasons for Southbay and won the Golden Gloves award in all the seasons. His omnipresent performance got him into the national camp and get him into the best Goalkeeper the nation has ever seen. After this transfer from Southbay to Dhalopura FC, he's been winning all the Golden Gloves in the participated seasons without giving others a chance to snatch them. He's the real saviour of Indusse, saving the nation from the cannon ball like opponent goal shots.

#6 Sampath Singh Aksinwala (Defender)
The Aksinwalas are a well known wrestling clan in Sindvpore. They are those people out there who smash everyone down who stands against them. Sampath Singh Aksinwala could have followed his family customs and traditions and become a wrestling champion smashing all down like a rock. Well, he had started his sporting career as a wrestler back in his 13s but he slowly got interested in soccer and with his fit physique he was a perfect fit for a defender. At his early years, he always got red cards in his matches since he used to throw his opponents away thinking that he is wrestling. The Local Clubs still gave him chance to play and he slowly changed his wrestling in soccer into total defender football. He started to be known all over Sindvpore and he got another call from Sindvpore FC. He still plays for Sindvpore FC and played a major role in their Liga Prima Victory and FFI Cup Victory. He is now the vice captain of Sindvpore FC and is a really important member of the Indussean National Team.

#13 Mathias Paulson (Defender)
Mathias Paulson born to a wealthy Syrian Christian family in Southbay. He wasn't a soccer maniac or something, who would have started playing for clubs before teenage. He started playing at the age of fifteen for several local clubs including his school and college clubs. After this Sport Medicine graduation from Saint Louis Holiness College in Jawaruyah, he got a mail from the Jawaruyah XI FC for being a defence and fitness co trainer. With his outmost hardwork in the game, he soon won a lot of awards and got a call from Rockies International FC for being their defender. He soon left Jawaruyah for Rockies Islands, it was his perfect defending which let the club rise from Division to to Primary Division tournament Liga Prime. The Team reached top three of the primary division tournament after his arrival and he also received a lot of awards for his play. With his arrival in Liga Prime and as a successor to former Rockies Defender Maryland Bruno (Maryland is his nickname because he used to run a cookie brand called Maryland Food), he got into the radar of National team selectors. He later got the call of the selectors to join the national team camp which was the turnover in his career. He soon became a well known defender in the nation and the captain of Rockies International FC.

#4 Aaron McMuller (defender)
Aaron McMuller, born as Aaron Davis Miller is a thirty two year old defender who earned fame during the early transition period. He started playing for Malta FC at the age of Eighteen since his father was the owner of the club. Eventhough it's an unconstitutional admission to the club, he later got to be the key player of the team. His direct ticket to the club without any obstacles made his way to the national camp easy. His defensive analysis gameplay got famed through out Malta and it's neighborhood provinces of Sindvpore and Cheralam. With the fame rising and clubs waiting to get him to their home, the national team selectors caught on him and added him into the national team squad list. Everything was quick for him, the transition from a club player into a professional footballer. The transition from a rich kid into a really rich earning star. The transition from slow paced defense into quick defense and counter strikes... Everything. He is also known as the only defender in Indusse who has scored 100 goals in their domestic history.

#9 Alexis Budtedjson (Mid Fielder)
Alexis Budtedjson, that's the name of the all in all of pass gameplay. Budtedjson has been a major part of the team in every international match played. He has been scoring goals, defending goals and making ways for goals. A complete footballer they say, he's having the chance to be the next captain of Indusse if he doesn't retire. Alexis was born as a neighbor to Baskar Kumar and has been his childhood friend. Both of them started to chase their dreams together and it was Alexis who got into professional football first. Alexis started his professional career with New Hind City FC B team. His perfect play, in the B team got him into Dhalopura FC. His best career club ever, Dhalopura FC got him into fame and later Gav him the ticket to National Team. He scored his first international goal in his debut match and he says that it's his favourite memory. He later got transferred into Sindvpore FC and has been playing for the team. During the colonial era in Indusse, he started working for the national police force (NPF) and he got promoted into the assistant commissioner of Hind City. His wife, Samantha Budtedjson is a well known tennis player of Indusse. She's currently playing in the NSTT for Indusse.

#14 Djetson Hazle (Mid Fielder)
Born as Djetson Hazlett to Dr. Henry Hazlett and Maria Henry in Sindvpore, Djetson change his surname at the age of sixteen to Hazle for joining film industry since there was a prominent star "Philip Hazlett" existing. He couldn't do much in the film industry, which changed his route into football. He played for the national U-18 team due to his absolutely commendable performance for his club Sindvpore FC. His performance also brought him into the national team and got himself as.a key player. He still plays for Sindvpore FC and took part in the Championship of FFI. He is married to Katherine Hazlett, daughter of film star Philip Hazlett. Katherine is also a prominent film star in Indusse. Hazle also took part in futsal and also tried a hand in hockey. But he later realised that he was made for professional soccer.

#10 Baskar H Kumar (Forward) Retired : Would be with the Team as Mentor
The best footballer Indusse has seen, that's what Baskar Kumar is. "If Baskar isn't there then, indusse wouldn't play well anytime soon" says Joseph Moteudi.Baskar Kumar was born to District Magistrate Hariharan Kumar and Adv. Maya Devi in Hind City. He started his soccer experience at an age of twelve playing for his school team. He later graduated for Political Studies and played for the university team. His quality performance for the University got him selected for Hind City FC B team and later to Hind City FC. His performance got him a ticket to the national team and he is still one of the oldest players in the national team. He is the current captain of New Hind City FC and Indussean National Team. He is currently the only player in Indusse scoring five hundred goals and the highest goal scorer in Indussean history. At the time of colonial opression, he took part in the independence movement and became the first and current president (term two) of Indusse. He played a major role in changing indusse from "Demoarchal Kingdom" to "Al shayarid empire" to "Holy Patriarchal Union and Republic". He was invested with Bharatratna award given out by India for the best politician.

#12 Rahul B Kumar (Forward) Know more about him later.

#7 Bechun Butea (Forward)
Once the best substitute to Baskar Kumar, now he faces a lot of competition from his fellow mates out there.Born to the family of footballers, Bechun didn't face any difficulty to choose his career. At the age of seven, his father admitted him to a local coaching center and with the basic skills got him into the Sindvpore Football Federation Training Center. Bechun's father was Takawilaka Butea, who got elected as the President of Sindvpore Football Federation. Bechun played his first professional match for Sindvpore FC and got transferred into Southbay Riveria FC. He later scored a lot of Goals opening his way to the national camp. He played as a captain substitute and vice captain of the national team and captain of Southbay Riveria FC until Baskar Kumar joined. He also played a major role in the Goblin Humanoid Project which created Goblin Grundjee, who's the first non human national player in Indusse. A football goblin was Bechun's idea. He also got the National Sports Academy Mentor post and is currently the cheif mentor of U-18 national team. His brother, Lalguvasara is the coach of Malta FC and his son Jackson Butea is playing for Sindvpore FC under 18 team.

#11 Antonio Mersiás (Forward)
The second youngest recruit in the camp, Antonio Mersiás is a well known youth idol in the nation. He was the captain of Indussean youth team in the Sporting World Cup. He led the team into the semi finals of the tournament till they lost to Starblaydia's young guns. He was born in Karadawadi, a county in Dhalopura to Francis Antony, who was a carpenter and Selina Francis. He lived as a poor kid going to the village school who wasn't so good at academics but bright in sports. His quality sporting skills caught the eyes of the headmaster there, who admitted him to the local football training sessions. The headmaster soon send him to the Jawal-Biesse the nearest city for his studies. He played for the Jawal-Biesse FC for three years and captained the team until he was called to play for the Dhalopura FC. He got selected to the U-18 team as soon as he played his first match for Dhalopura FC. His quality play in the club also got him promoted as the captain of the youth team. His awesome, historical performance for the youth team got him a quick ticket to the National Team Camp. He is currently an important part of the national team who cannot be replaced easily.

#100 Goblin Grundjee (Forward)
Goblin Grundjee who is the first ever non-human sportsperson from Indusse. The Grundjee's are one of the families of the Goblin species that was created by the scientists by DNA Modelling. The scientists created a new race of Goblins through gene editing and combining the DNAs of Humans with certain animals and Algae. The goblin species were divided into three families were Grundjees are one of the major part. The other two families are called Mithys and Auris. The current members of the grundjee family is Colonel Grundjee who is a Colonel in the royal army of Indusse. The gene of colonel Grundjee was created by merging the genes of three colonels of the army with the genes of a eagle and the green algae. The green algae plays a necessary role in getting the green Color of the skin. The other member is Goblin Grundjee who is currently playing for the juniors. His gene was created by merging the genes of David Bekem, a former football and of a wild horse. The green algae is also a necessary part of the composition. The grundjee family has the green composition of skins due to green algae. Whereas, Mithys has a brownish red skin due to the presence of Blue-green Algae with Iron sediments, Auris family has the skin Color of a normal human as there isn't any presence of algae. The skin textures and patterns of the goblins are same as the humans and the color is the only thing that can discriminate it with humans. The scientific community believe that the goblin race will create revolution in the world of science. The creation of Goblin Grundjee was overseen by fellow player Bechun Butea who also played a major role in bringing Grundjee as a experimental player. Well, Grundjee is currently one of the best strikers the nation has seen.

The Valentian International Football Association

Even after decades, Valentijn could not help but laugh a bit at the innocence of her wife. Clarissa just could not get around the idea that her suggested name for the football club could seen as suggestive or adult themed. "My dear, I am sorry if I am laughing a bit too hard here. I mean, Clarissa's Kittens is a cute name, I will give it that," Valentijn tried her best to explain, gasping for a bit of air while consoling and patting her robot wife on her back, "But trust me, it is going to sound a little weird. Just trust me on this one, all right?" Clarissa nodded cheerfully, simply happy to make Valentijn laugh, even if she was laughing at the said idea of the suggested name. After a bit more brainstorming, followed by a somewhat unanimous decision by the team, they decided to go for another name accompanied by the slogan. Clarissa clapped happily, along with the rest of the fresh football players of Valentine Z.

Established just a few months ago, on the 1st anniversary of the end of the war dubbed the Interdimensional Incident that costed many Valentian lives as well as the years to rebuild, Valentijn and The Sixty decided that after the blunders of the two World Cups, they could give the others a chance. They did it with a Basketball Team, so perhaps a somewhat less Sixty-affiliated team could fare well, since the Sixty had to run the country harder than ever for these few years, especially after the war. Now lead by Exuberant Superintendent T-2000/2904-3 Surveillant Clarissa Alanis Star Breya « La Amoureux Chéri » Millie Taissa Butterfly Mélody Coraline Jolijn Trini Clementine Hollie Samantha Zeta Harumi, Valentian Kittens introduces and brings in a group of equally experienced football players from across the Earth and Mars of Valentine Z, in order to experience the fun and joy of football, as well as joining international events such as these. They might have had football experience in the domestic events (as well as having a few non-football related skills that could be useful), but can they step up against their roster, and hopefully make it into the semi-finals even? Time will tell! However, one thing is for certain - as long as they are a Valentian, they are neither going to give up without a fight with Clarissa as their captain and manager, nor disappoint her.

After the slew of defeats in WC90, the Valentian Kittens made a large comeback at the end of the first half of the Qualification Season, followed by a large number of wins come the second half. That wasn't as enough as the Valentians did not make it for the play-offs, let alone for the actual World Cup itself. Nonetheless, the Valentian Kittens were delighted to receive the good news from Clarissa that they are going to play in Cup of Harmony - a season / event that is more or less intended for those who did not make the cut for World Cup after the qualifications, but still has enough of a prowess. Perhaps this time, the paws will work.
