(VAL)	Raynor City United	1–0	Dí Maozöxê	(FFD)

There would not be a third meeting in the Final between United and Energija, as the two met in the semifinals and the Vanorians finally were able to emerge victorious, setting up a date with Dí Maozöxê of Farfadillis in the United Republics. The Farves were on a high after beating both teams from the V-League and smashing Ponyville in the semifinals, yet it would be the Vanorians who would see victory in the first Final in the post Anaia era. All entrants into the next AOCL must have won their nation's league or be the highest placed team of their association in a multiassociation league, with the exception of Raynor City United who are guaranteed a spot in the next AOCL first round. Should they fail to qualify directly, Valanora will be granted a second spot.

Future bids for host stadia will be taken into consideration, though the default in case of no bids will always be the stadium of Stade de Torgos in Torgos. A final reminder also that all Rushmori nations only (including any and all puppets) will be able to submit their league champions only (or top ranked team in the event of multi-associational leagues of more than one Rushmori nation) for entry into the next CdC; this includes puppet leagues that don't submit to IFCF. The submission period opened when the IFCF closed entries to the last IFCF tournaments, and will close again when the IFCF closes entries to the next IFCF tournaments. No invitations will be sent. You must indicate at the bottom of your league summary that you wish your league champion to take part, and I take no responsibility for missing it if you've only shown it in your table.

Keep your entries coming in for the next edition!

To Qusmo/Sanford for the inspiration.
To Txakhaxi for the graphics.

Something is blooming in the heart of Rushmore. In the last few years, various nations from Pavola have connected to the sporting multiverse and together, they dream of making waves in the international scene.

No moment in the season when those dreams are as vivid, as wildly discussed amongst the fans as in the preseason. Every upcoming youngster appears still wildly talented, every new signing still the missing link and every coach still represents attractive and successful football.

During this period, various Pavola clubs are gathered to compete in the Copa Pavola. This international series allows club teams to hone their form ahead of the season by taking on various opponents in neighbouring countries. Whilst friendlies in name, every tournament which ensures silverware will be hotly contested.

And for the inaugural edition, these are the sixteen contestants. These are chosen through the national FA, either through qualification or subscription.

Vreton City FC BOL Winner of the inaugural TPL and the most recent Copa Bollonich
Vreton United BOL Historical powerhouse
GT Molding GRÆ Most decorated club in Græntfjaller history

Martin Luther SFD Inaugural Sanford PREMIER League runners-up

Competition Format

* All participating clubs are assured of four confrontations.
* The clubs are assigned to either of two table halves. Clubs from the same country cannot be in the same table half.
* Based upon an unseeded draw, clubs are assigned to an opening confrontation.
* After each confrontation, the victors are drawn against one another, as are the losing competitors.
* In the fourth and final confrontation, this results in a match for a final position.
* All games are required to result in a winner and as such go to extra-time and penalties in case of a draw.

San Ortelio, your favorite pseudo-Italian, coastal microstate. Less than half a million inhabitants who stand for a rich culture, are governed
by an delicate yet marvellously balanced system and remain economically viable due to fishing and funky tax laws.
But enough about us. Come vai?

We're no international threat, so have our domestic thread.
Definitely check the invitation box in the OP if you want to get involved.

Procedural Notes
  • The entries of Acastanha in the League of Victors have been entered. When a nation enters the FFI competitions, it is permitted to send the top 2 teams of its domestic league to the League of Victors, and may send a third team to the Confederations' Trophy, but one team may not compete in both tournaments.
  • Eshialand's entry was accepted. An association is allowed to send up to 3 teams to FFI competition if desired, assuming the clubs have earned the spot according to FFI regulation.
  • The FFI reminds the titleholders of the League of Victors and Confederations' Trophy that they are each entitled to a berth in their respective competition in the subsequent cycle. Information on how that works can be found in the FFI's factbook.
  • Next cycle's submission deadline will once again be the same as the IFCF's.

Final Site Selection

The FFI received two bids to host the League of Victors Final, from Sonic Stadium in Kampawla, Felinetopia, and Radlov Arena in Brantisvogan, Squornshelan Remnant States. FFI officials voted on a single ballot.
Sonic Stadium 7
Radlov Arena 6

Kampawla's 62,300 all-seater will host the 7th League of Victors Final.

41 clubs were entered in the League of Victors, and 19 in the Confederations' Trophy. 18 teams entered the LoV in the qualifying round with the winners joining the other 23 in the Round of 32. Losers from each of these rounds dropped down to the CT, where 15 teams awaited them in that tournament's qualifying round and 4 more in the playoff round.
League of Victors seeding was by association coefficient, while Confederations' Trophy seeding was by club coefficient.

Transfers pre-season 35:

Into the 1./:

Gabriel Lapierre (center midfielder, 1093 CF Atlantea) -> Trebuchet Cham
Lliot Celarte (goalkeeper, Dannin Bridge FMFC) -> Sporting Esper
Geomraff yCinrhadd (center midfielder, Francisca Orient) -> Ephesian FC
Dimitra Exarchopolous (left wing, Port Tacassam FC) -> Keppal Cosmos

Into the college system:

John Boomhower (goalkeeper, Parakleion Firebirds FC Academy) -> Brench
Benjamin Lacoste (right midfielder, Pyathora Mariners FC Academy) -> Liulevi University
Frederick Steele (center midfielder, AFC Farnworth) -> University of Naspe
Mùirne Clarke (center midfielder, Abingdon Celtic) -> 102d Polyteknik
Tony Detlie (goalkeeper, Martin Luther) -> Frammard College
Craig Schreier (defensive midfielder, Martin Luther) -> College of Twake
Yekaterina Teplyashina (right back, Pyazhnyy Futbolni Akademiya) -> College of Bronc
Garaitz Lemoine (right back, Letzama FC) -> Pittman University
Ognjen Opancina (left back, some Kruviši amateur club) -> Stoal Institute of Science

Out of the college system:

Kathleen Lagrange (left wing, Orling College) - > FC Pesari
Martin Staunt-Anderson (defensive midfielder, Zwangzug University) -> Urbitzo FC

Zwangzugians overseas:

Declan Turner-Cont (goalkeeper, University of the Islands) -> Omnio
Jolanda MacPierce (left back, Deprí Sanar University) -> Columbia City
Carrie Geffen-Broad (right midfielder, Felswyr State University) -> Cleorough FC
Cixin Nguyen (center midfielder, Chromia Central College University) -> Chromatik
Nikolai Seabury (defender, Trimidau Rukiya) -> Shearwater
Ryan Lippe-Berg (defensive midfielder, Valley Wanderers) -> FK Vselitamak
Lianne Northrup (center back, Mancodas City) - > North Sabrefell

Quite the busy window, not so much because our league has been developing so much as that those kids from Chromatika grew up.

In the top-flight level, we have a handful of recognized (and less-recognized) internationals; Exarchopolous is a journeywoman, and yCinrhadd a purposeful journeyman on a quest. (Kind of makes you wonder why Rovers United didn't spring for him.) Iosif Chaika has earned praise for his open-mindedness towards the new Squornshelan government, while Gabriel Lapierre, with his impressive national team performance and musical tastes, has been rescued from the insolvent Taeshan Premier League sort of like Sophie Munshi...hasn't been, womp womp.

Several of our universities were pleased to learn of the existence of a club named "Martin Luther" and duly worked to scout talent from Sanford. They had to work harder to pressure the league into giving them money to repay the Licentian academies for their player development, but the league must have succumbed, they're kind of wimps like that sometimes. Boomhower has an awesome name, and is a goalkeeper who has some nerve issues, but is that a bug or a feature?

We wish the best to Martin Staunt-Anderson at Urbitzo even though a couple of us are not sure he's a real person. Like let's say a video game in a foreign country needed a regen at the last minute. "Uhhh, one of our colleges is named...yes there must be an issue that references...@@NAME@@ University. I mean, Zwangzug University. And, uh, their position? Defensive midfield, for sure, defensive midfielders can totally be awesome, look at Eddie Barnes and stuff. His name? Martin. Sure, Martin is a great name. Martin Anderson? No, make it one of those hyphenated things. Martin Staunt-Anderson from Zwangzug University, defensive midfield. Nailed it."

The Chromatika transfers have mostly done well; shoutouts also to Claude Pare-Achel who will be doing double-duty with the Chromatik U-21 side. (Remember when we thought he could be an assistant to the Marauders? Hahahaha this suits him much better.) The fact that Cixin Nguyen's talent didn't attract the attention of other elite associations has him a tiny bit miffed, although we think that's mostly because he's going to have to keep being like "I play for Chromatik, no not Chromatika the NT, the club...no they're different from Anomalies too...yes it's awkward." Lianne Northrup will follow in the footsteps of Paige Daunten at North Sabrefell, although in terms of being a nominally defensive player who can really do whatever, she's a bit more similar to Sydney Stefred. Well, if Stefred was chill.

Between the college stuff and the league's increasing frustration to make somebody, anybody, besides Arlington good, there might be a lot of internal wrangling to report on. But for now, we'll take you over to...the Eagles' Cup? Seriously? Is that a thing again? Why do we do this, shouldn't we be focusing on...look I know there are player development concerns, but like...I just don't think this is the most efficient use of our time, is all. But nobody ever asks me, do they?

Calcio Cucina

The Calcio Cucina is Grande Cucina's league system for professional teams. Ten teams go at it, playing each other four times throughout the season. The winners are crowned champions of Grande Cucina and gain the right to participate in the CAFA LigAnaia. First contested in 1928, the most successful teams are the Barilla clubs, sharing almost sixty titles between them, with Ronzoni, on the country's southern coast, just behind them at a measly ten titles.

This season, the season numbering was reset due to the FCGC (Federazione Calcio di Grande Cucina)'s decision to enter its champion into the CAFA LigAnaia. It's still the same old Calcio Cucina, however; with derbies set to light the idyllic seaside capital of Barilla up, or intra-regional rivalries of the three regions; Giardino, Garofalo and Pranzo, refreshing historical rivalries.

Calcio Cucina - Season One (CAFA Era)

4 AS Divella 36 18 10 8 62 31 +31 64
5 Buitoni 36 18 8 10 49 38 +11 62

9 Ronzoni 36 6 2 28 22 93 −71 20
10 San Giorgio 36 2 5 29 14 85 −71 11

Grande Cucina is not a very rich country. It has limited industrialisation, and the vast majority of its economy, until the advent of globalisation, was comprised agriculture and what limited manufacturing economy that exists in the three regional capitals: Barilla (Giardino), Buitoni (Garofalo) and Divella (Pranzo).

The (admittedly pleasant) side effect of this was that Grande Cucina became a place of natural beauty. Contrasted with the heavily-industrialised Kotzellach to its south (where they are trying, quite belatedly, to introduce more nature into its mass of high-rise steel-and-glass buildings), Grande Cucina looked (and still does) like paradise. Trees of green, golden fields, skies of blue, clouds of white; it truly was — and remains — a wonderful world.

Post-globalisation, however, its untouched natural scenery and beauty lent to it another way for the country's fortunes to improve — Tourism. Tourists from all over Anaia and beyond come to Grande Cucina to live in nature, get away from big city life, and enjoy life in the slow lane; where every meal is handcooked with love and where family is the most important thing. Where community and neighbours are valued. Outside of the big cities, the country of five million is sparsely populated; tight-knit communities gather in towns, where they work the land to sell their produce abroad.

And, as the aphorism goes, it's not much; but it's honest work. Plus, the people are happy and satisfied, and free; what more could one hope for?

Much of the ten professional clubs which inhabit Grande Cucina are survivors — of frequent mergers, collapses when the money runs out, and so on. The Lega, open only to professional clubs, has seen clubs come and go. Its size has wavered — from ten, twelve, fifteen at one point in the 1976/77 season; but has since settled down into a nice rhythmic ten clubs from the 1980s.

And what clubs they are, too. The capital, Barilla, home to the country's biggest stadium, hosts two teams whose supporters absolutely despise each other — Derby della Barilla, the Barilla Derby. Wear the yellow of CS Barilla or the deep blue or Giardino Barilla near matchdays, and enter the wrong pub, and the mood will shift. Grande Cucinans are known for their kindness and temperament; but all that is cast aside when it comes to football. CS versus Giardino is more than a derby; it is the battle dating back generations. Farmers versus port workers. The suburbs versus the city.

In Divella, the other derby — AS Divella versus Pranzo Divella — occurs. AS was founded by some priests who wished to improve the general sporting health of the city by promoting physical education and healthfulness — Pranzo was founded by drunken people at the local tavern. Which might partly explain why Pranzo wears pink, but the other rumour goes that that colour was chosen to anger the supposedly straight-laced AS Divella, who played in black and to this day still have a giant Brenecian Cross on their club crest.

It is rivalries like these that shape the footballing landscape of Grande Cucina. And it is the only time of the week, on Saturdays when the sun goes down (no working on Sundays!), where Grande Cucina's quiet exterior comes down; and the football begins.

Copa Colino

The Copa Colino is Grande Cucina's knockout football cup — but with a twist. Because there are only sixteen semi-professional and up clubs left in the entire country — a side effect of a few recessions, dodgy businessmen and just the fact that many people in the country simply do not live in settlements with more than a few thousand people in them — all sixteen are invited to the Cup. Well, "invited". It's essentially mandatory to participate to be allowed to continue to function as a football club. Because the FCGC allocates funding to non-professional clubs based on their participation in the Cup. Well, whatever doesn't go into the Chairman's pockets, anyway.

Ten of the clubs we covered earlier — they form the league. The remaining six have been coaxed multiple times to try and professionalise, join the league, let it gain a bit more credibility. In an unsually strong showing of Grande Cucinan emotion and solidarity, they said:

"No."

So life goes on. It's a fairly smart footballing decision from them — professionalise, and they get no more money from the FCGC. No more money to line their chairmens' pockets, anyway. Best to just go on, live life, attend the three group stage matches, get soundly beaten by the Ten, and go home. Outside of that, they play in their own leagues, and against each other, against fully amateur teams, and live life for the sake of having fun.

The sixteen teams are sorted into four pots, based on last seasons' league finish; the six non-league teams, which play in tiny stadiums in the middle of the country — its hinterland — are randomly allocated into either pots 3 or 4. The fun then begins; each team plays each other once, with the draw being randomised; and the top eight progress to the quarter-finals.

4 Colavita 3 0 1 2 3 9 −6 1

But sometimes, the semi-professional teams strike back. San Cecco beat Pranzo Divella 1-0 on Matchday 2. Voiello managed to eliminate Garofalo Terraza on Matchday 3 by simply ignoring defence and going all out on attack. It was amateurish at times, sure but they were also semi-professionals. But it worked.

They would beat Garofalo Terrazza 3-4 away, and by virtue of finishing second in their group, would advance to the quarter-finals. A turnup for the books, and a feat that was celebrated with the procurement of several suckling pigs for the town the next day. A feast fit for kings. And also football players.

Quarter-Finals

CS Barilla 2–0 San Giorgio
Giardino Barilla 1–1 Cittavolpe (1–1 AET) (4–2 pen.)
AS Divella 3–1 Buitoni
Felicetti 0–2 Voiello

And they would go on.

Semi-Finals
CS Barilla 0–3 Giardino Barilla
AS Divella 0–0 Voiello (0–0 AET) (3-2 pen.)

And they would bring Divella to within one penalty kick of being knocked out. A miracle run like this doesn't happen often. But it brings great joy to the inhabitants of Voiello, and for those who spurn the Big Ten, instead choosing to support their local underdog, I Lillà.

A town of seven thousand in the middle of Grande Cucina's Harvest Valley can celebrate, for once, their team going out in style and fighting till the bitter end against one of Grande Cucina's great teams.

Final
CS Barilla 1–0 AS Divella

And while CS Barilla would do the double, the FCGC decided that the second-placed team in the league — not the Cup runners-up, as their neighbours down south would rule, would go to the inaugural edition of the CAFA LigAnaia. And so a new dimension was added. Who would go furthest in the CAFA LigAnaia? Would they break past the first round at all?

Group Stage
The fourteen winners from the Qualifying Round joined the remaining entrants, and all were seeded according to CAFA coefficient (OOC: This is actually a combination of IFCF coefficient and RP bonus for this edition) and split into four pots of eight. One team from each pot was placed in each group, with no two teams from the same nation permitted to be in the same group.

Each group then completed a six-game, double round-robin tournament of its own, with three points awarded for a win, one point for a draw.
The top two teams in each group progress to the round of sixteen.
Tiebreakers, when required were applied in the following order:
* head-to-head results,
* head-to-head goal difference,
* head-to-head goals for,
* head-to-head away goals,
* overall goal difference,
* total goals scored,
* total away goals scored,
* number of matches won in the group stage,
* and a coin flip.

The eight winners from the round of sixteen progress to the Final Stage: a seeded, single-leg, double-elimination tournament.
Seeds were determined by CAFA coefficient, and all matches were to be settled on the day; using extra time and penalty shootouts as required.

For each game in the top bracket (except the final) the home team is the higher-ranked side.
In the elimination rounds, the home team is the lower-ranked side (except the final).

Quarter Finals

Elimination Round Three
(KRY) Avidia United 1–2 Royal Michaeltown (SAL)

Final Eliminator
(KOR) Maethoru SC 0–3 Royal Michaeltown (SAL)

Maethoru SC are eliminated.

With two teams remaining, the final can take place, at a neutral venue selected from those put forward by CAFA associations.

The venues were written on pieces of paper and laminated, before being attached to arrows. The arrows were jumbled before being fired, one by one, into a large watermelon sixteen yards away. The winning venue was selected at random in an entirely unrelated ceremony, though. Sixteen toddlers from Carbonia were invited to pick whichever venue they liked the picture of the most. Through this very scientific method, the inaugural CAFA LigAnaia final was scheduled to take place at Tlanx-Nulzk Hal Elementary School playground. However, intervention from the competition's broadcast partners forced a move to Park der Fründens, in Cersehorst, Saltstead (cap. 47,840). In the case that a second final game is required, broadcasters were confident they could set up the required cameras at Tlanx-Nulzk Hal Elementary School. Sponsors complained about the venue's capacity, but CAFA responded with a note explaining that there had been no capacity requirement for final bids, and this was something they would look into rectifying for future editions of the competition.

@ Park der Fründens, Cersehorst, Saltstead
(MRN) AC Mariina 2–2 p Royal Michaeltown (SAL) (2–2 FT · 3–4 pen)

As this was AC Mariina's first defeat, a second final was required, taking place at Tlanx-Nulzk Hal Elementary School:
(SAL) Royal Michaeltown 0–1 AC Mariina (MRN)

Congratulations to the winners, and thanks for letting me run this wacky format (and take about a week trying to fix all the bugs along the way) <3

Procedural Note: The Vilitan Cove Invitational Committee noted the absence of sporting qualification in the entry filled in by the Federation of Mertagne. However, noting the possibility that the application was actually mailed years prior and stuck in the dusty basement storage of an unknown Syndicate facility, the Committee decided to let it slide and see what happened. The old lady down the street is still not on good terms with the committee, using the shredded contents of any misdirected mail in her fertilizer which could explain the slight reduction in the number of participants this cycle. Any other associations applying for an invitation whose applications were sent by drunk Cocoabo, intercepted by Darth Siovanija's goons, lost in a high-stakes Nationstates Trading Card game or otherwise not received were not extended an invitation to compete. Strathcona Internationals were extended an invitation as defending champions per the competition charter. Defending Runners-Up Urrheddiao of Chromatika were also invited.

The Vilitan Cove Invitational is an International Club Competition. Designed to allow clubs who have not already qualified for a major international club competition (UICA; IFCF; Cup Winners Cup) a chance to compete on the international stage. The Invitational is designed as a Fair Play competition, however an association may set any sporting criteria by which to determine which team will be permitted to apply to the competition. The Vilitan Cove Inivitational Committee reserves the right to change the competition entry criteria at any point.

Not all applicants are guaranteed invitation into the competition, particularly in the event more than 31 associations apply for consideration.

The format of the competition is a Fixed Bracket Knockout with minor re-seeding during rounds which have byes. All pairings prior to the Semi-Final stage will be two-legged home and away aggregate knockout rounds.
The "Away Goals" rule will not apply. Any match which is level on aggregate at the conclusion of full time during the second leg will immediately proceed to an extra time period. There will be no silver or golden goal scenario, and a full 30 minute extra time period would be contested. If the scores are still level, a penalty shootout will be employed to determine which team advances.

Semi-Final and Final stages will each be a single knockout match at a selected location in the Vilitan Cove region.

TCSC /77th Super Cycle/29th by Tropicorp/7th Tropicorp Super

Postby Tropicorp » Tue Aug 24, 2021 2:58 pm

Tropicorp's sponsorship of the Super Cup competition through UICA reaches back to the 52nd edition of the event and had already been extended through the UICA 75th anniversary campaign. With the IFCF absorbing control of competitions from UICA, however, it left an untenable break for Tropicorp which had invested heavily in the Super Cup brand for the previous 20+ cycles.

The traditional UICA Super Cup included only the winners of three of the four UICA sanctioned events with the Youth Championships considered separate from the UICA Mainstream. Other major competitions such as the Cup Winners Cup and Vilitan Cove Invitational were excluded as they were not official UICA sanctioned events, but Tropicorp saw an opportunity to unite them in the Non-IFCF Super Group. The winners of the 'other' 3 major internationstatal domestic competitions would be invited to compete in their own three team group identical to the format of the old UICA Super Cup. The winner of this group would then be invited to contest the Tropicorp Super Cup against the winner of the new IFCF Super Group.

The Non-IFCF Super Group would be timed such that the matches would correspond roughly to the end of the Vilitan Cove Invitational tournament with the IFCF Youth Cup Champions playing their match against the Cup Winners Cup champions first, before each team played a single game against the winners of the Vilitan Cove Invitational. The "Rising Stars" Cup Champions would be permitted up to 5 Senior 'Guest' players on their roster in addition to a generous age restriction up to 21 years old for the remainder of their participating players. They are, however, encouraged to reward as many of the players who earned their championship as feasible.

With a skillful mix of youth and experience, Rising Stars Cup champion's Raynor City United topped a very tight Super Group and returned to the Tropicorp Super Cup after having previously won the 5th edition of the title. However, their brave fight could go on only so long and after 120 minutes of action couldn't decide a champion, it was down to penalty kicks where the IFCF Challengers Cup winners CA Paulinthal emerged victorious to lift their first Tropicorp Super Cup trophy.

History and Tenants :: Tropicorp Park is home to Tropicorp FC, members of the Vilitan Stellar Division and also regularly serves as the home of assorted International and Domestic Competitions. The Tropicorp Cup, a four team, 2 day grand-finale of the Tropicorp Lower League has served as an outstanding warmup to test the hospitality available at Tropicorp Park, and was critical in the build up to the decision to allow the finals of the Eagle's Cup V competition to take place in Tropicorp, the first major international competition of any kind to be held in Tropicoast.

Tropicorp Park hosted the 54th AOCAF Final that saw Cosumar break through with a first ever regional title over Eshan. The stadium was also the final site for the AOCL XXIII contested between Mâ Âlâmëómë of Farfadillis and Blades ex Magnaeus of Mertagne with the Farf side being victorious on Penalty Kicks; and for AOCL XVII which saw Jungle Strike FC defeat Fligsive FC 3-0.

Tropicorp officials are continuously looking to expand the portfolio of events held at the Park and began hosting UICA competition finals in addition to its long-standing partnership with the UICA Super Cup competition. Tropicorp Park hosted the final of the 70th UICA Series 'B' Champions Cup and the 25th UICA Youth Cup competitions. Tropicorp officials are always looking for new partnerships, however, and continue to take advantage of the opportunities to showcase their hospitality including branching beyond Footsport. The NSCF Tropicorp Bowl was contested on the gridiron with Raynor University defeating the university of Iqaluit 27-14.[/box]

Disclaimer: As briefly announced in the DSDT, I am re-submitting last cycle's qualifiers as there is no way I can make the current deadline and I refuse to compromise the quality of the league and/or the RPs to rush to make it.

This is the starting point for the previous season's posts that the qualifiers have been re-submitted from.
Please see here for all previews and so far submitted match days for the new season that will span two cycles for RP consideration.

IFCF Challengers' Cup: Mountain Fortress, Oriannor (cap. 54,000)
The Mountain Fortress in Oriannor is the home of the Tikariot Premier League's Oriannor Mountaineers. Oriannor is the capital of Khazagh and the heart of Tikariotian mining, which is the lifeblood of both city and province, which is only rivalled in mineral richness by northwestern Viljamark. The aptly named Mountain Fortress is considered one of the most impressive settings in Tikariotian football, with part of the stadium blasted out of the side of one of the many towering mountains of the Khazagh Range that completely surrounds the city. It is one of the rotating stadiums to host national team matches, the last of which to date had been the first leg of Tikariot's playoff brace against Drawkland for the qualification for World Cup 88. It is easily reachable via the Oriannor subway system, which is the likely most modern and advanced in all of Tikariot, and has received several awards for its integrated design making it seem almost one with the mountain from outside, but offering state-of-the-art facilities combined with truly majestic views.

The stadium is located near Rusborg River, east of Featherwood city center. The stadium occupies 541,700 m2 beside a major road hub. Hello! We have a thrilling final day in store for you. Ephesian FC currently lead the league, on nineteen points, and are at home against Sporting Esper. Close behind them, Canbix and Arlington are tied with 18.5 points, and they're playing each other at the City Athletic Venue. (The first leg was a scoreless draw, and Canbix have one more goal of difference.) Trailing those two on goal difference comes Trebuchet Cham, who are taking on the Twineur Bugs at Stabb Field.

The fight for the last Challengers' spot should be no less intense. Currently in fifth, we have 102d Jr.s--102d Jr.s!--who are at home against Excelsior Slogda, who are still terrible. Tied with them are Namiri Forest, who will host the Rovers, and Bassabook, who host a dismal-looking Spenson. Twineur, Trink, and Keppal are all within a point of them, but that's not saying much because there's only one spot to play for now that we're...back down to two Champions' League entries. But that just heightens the drama. Right? Silver linings!

My editor is annoyed that I'm hyping this day up so much because the improved parity is probably just a rogue side effect of trying to fix things so that Arlington aren't unstoppable, which means she's going to be in a really bad if they go on to win the league anyway. So for her sake, we're rooting for anybody but Arlington, sorry City fans.

4': Goal from...Valerie Waugh and 102d to get us started! Okay, so Slogda are bad, but really, 102d have been extremely solid this season. Now it's up to Fedya Troy-Vee, Iosif Chaika, and the rest of the defense to hold on.

7': Goal for Meldi'ita Mungwaii! Another beautiful strike from the tireless Turorian, the elegant Eel, the ageless attacker...okay I better stop, my editor is glaring at me.

10': Jamsetjee Peerbhoy scores for Namiri Forest. No relation to the Jamsetjee Amla-Patel who used to play for Namiri Independent. It's just a popular name.

11': A nice pass from Kayla Haugen sets up her fellow midfielder, Gabriel Lapierre, and the Kelssekian scores to give Cham the lead against Twineur. I think. I mean, I know they're definitely winning against Twineur but I'm not 100% on what you call a person from Kelssek. "Mr. McDonagh?"

14': Thank you to all of you who wrote in to make the jokes about how you can call someone from Kelssek whatever you want as long as you make sure to duplicate it in Azertienne, knew I could count on you guys.

15': Oh here we go, Jacques Nelson-Boque scores for Ephesian off a pass from Geomraff yCinrhadd. He's only planning to spend one season in the 1./, but so far he's made it a good one for Ephesian, and it could be even greater.

20': Trink have an outside chance at the Challengers' Cup if things fall their way, so let's take a look at their match over in Keppal. Mmhmm...yes...not the most scintillating. In recent seasons, Johan Idmar's form up front has covered over a lot of deficiencies for the Cosmos. But with him past his peak, they look dispirited.

22': A Molly Nestor header for Twineur ties them up against Cham. The Bugs have been pretty mediocre this year, but at least they're not getting blown out. On Matchday 20 they had a 4-4 draw with the Rovers that must have had manager Dale Hartford-Phelps fuming, but turns out that fans enjoy this more than a 4-0 loss, what a surprise.

25': A bunch of my sub-monitors just lit up simultaneously so let me figure out what just happened all over. Looks like...Waugh scored a brace for 102d, nice. As if psychically aware of this and refusing to be outdone by 102d, Gordon Blum somehow wills himself forward to meet a long pass from Ryan Dumont and scores a moment later for Bassabook against Spenson. And meanwhile, Marie Wien scores for Cham to restore their lead against Twineur. Whew!

31': Julio McBailey equalizes for Twineur after outsprinting Tova Miovuku at back, nice run.

38': And here go my monitors again, hold on while I sort this out. Uh, Nancy Puyo-Sachar--have we mentioned that her husband plays baseball? good, so we don't have to repeat this whole thing again--scores for Cham against Twineur. But meanwhile, Greg Wilson-Morro scores for Esper to tie them up against Ephesian. Which I think means that Arlington are back in the lead somehow. For what it's worth, they entered the day with the same goal difference as Ephesian, but that won't matter because they need to get a better result than Ephesian, anyway.

40': Waugh almost has a hat-trick, but instead sets up Sonja Reuel-Whail to score. Either way, it's 102d 3, Slogda 0. Too soon to say that 102d have clinched IFCF play, of course, but they're well on their way!

42': Paula Benning-South scores for Cham, it's 4-2 there. The Cabbas need some help from elsewhere if they want to rise higher, but they're certainly doing their part.

43': A neat left-foot shot from Farrokh Sokhi, and Forest are up 2-0. Gotta love a guy with a double kh.

44': Twineur, as we just mentioned, are two goals down. And what do they do? Counterattack and score through Eric Motley-Kashone! Hartford-Phelps seems almost unrecognizable in his jacket on the bench.

45': And that's halftime.

46': Back underway. Fun fact of the day is that Lliot Celarte, from Sporting Esper, is going to be on the bench for Mertagne in their Eagles' Cup roster. I'm not sure how to pronounce that double L. Maybe yCinrhadd can explain.

50': The other game going on is Namiri Independent hosting FTC United, who are guaranteed thirteenth and twelfth respectively. Let's have a look-in, shall we? ...Yeah all right, it's properly dire.

52': Goal! And it's...Tammi Bilo-Stuhl for Canbix! This is big, the leaderboard is now Ephesian ahead of Cham for first, and Canbix ahead of Arlington for third. But anything could happen in thirty-eight minutes plus! (Thirty-eight plus is really not a round number no matter what system you're using.)

57': Goal for Quinten Fryx of Ephesian! They're clear by a half-point now and have some much-appreciated breathing room.

61': Bassabook are obviously frustrated that they don't control their own destiny, and more frustrated that their destiny is currently trailing 102d on GD (well, and also Namiri Forest, but they don't seem to care about that). However, Rafael Ashadha breaks through with a goal to make it 2-0 against Spenson Suburbia; Itzhak Canterbury, not so long ago the wave of the future in goal, looks anemic. Not literally, though.

64': Rolf Ronake-Daste makes it five goals for Cham. The Cabbas will be pleased that Canbix and Arlington are still cancelling each other out, but they need the Robins to give them a boost here if they want more. The Robins, incidentally, are clinging to fourteenth place based on Slogda's free-falling goal differential.

66': I should say, Twineur's chances of sneaking into the Challengers' Cup somehow are even more distant than Bassabook's, but credit to Hartford-Phelps for letting his core players do their thing and not capitulating. Even on the road, the fans are enjoying this show. I think. Probably.

67': Goal! And it's...Shirley Bao for the Rovers putting them on the scoreboard against Namiri Forest, who still lead 2-1. Okay, neat.

74': Nora Kent-Maner scores for Sporting Esper! It's 2-2 in the capital, and suddenly that Fryx goal is enormous. And hang on, we've got something...

75': Goal! For Alicia Sakura-Willow and Spenson in Bassabook. Yes, her parents both had tree names. Yes, that's pretty weird for techno-futuristic Spenson. No, we don't have anything better to talk about, Spenson are pants. Unless there's another...oh, no way...

76': Two minutes after Kent-Maner's goal, Judy McCarter scores again for Sporting Esper. And somehow, with approximately a quarter-hour remaining, Trebuchet Cham find themselves in the lead. Can they possibly hold on?

77': Tova Miovuku in with a senseless foul on Nestor and that has to be a penalty. Come on, guys.

78': Nestor will take it herself; Assane Garin-Thresh guesses wrong in the Cabbas' goal, and it's 5-4. Cham clinging to a slim lead.

85': I found this too much melodrama to take so I switched over to the mesmerizing mire that is the Oxen versus Namiri Independent. Right, that's me properly calmed down then, let's see some added time excitement.

89': Anyone?

Full time: nope, that's it. Kate DiMarini isn't there to take credit, and leaders like Edwin Cherenkov-Nguyen have moved on as well, but the Cabbas have done it. I don't know about you, but I think that was worth the shakeup, yeah?

Cereal Cup

So here's the thing. A big reason why this tournament exists is to provide a qualifier to the VCI. And the qualifier to the VCI, by definition, cannot be one of the top n (IFCF qualifying) teams in the league. So it...kind of doesn't matter if Arlington just clean up. Now, of course, we would not want to diminish the history of this grand tournament and its unique formats which pay tribute to our cultural idiosyncrasies. But...we figured we wouldn't need to adjust the ranking system too much, because even if one of the big sides dominates, it wouldn't be a problem.

Well, it turns out, it kind of was a problem. Just not in the way we expected.

First Round

Arlington City 6–1 Twineur Bugs
Trebuchet Cham 2–3 Eintracht Trink
Ephesian FC 1–0 FTC United
Canbix Muses 2–0 Sporting Esper
Namiri Forest 3–1 Rovers United
Keppal Cosmos 2–0 Namiri Independent
102d Jr.s 2–1 Excelsior Slogda
Bassabook Old Boys 4–2 Spenson Suburbia

Arlington, upon being told that they were allowed to dominate the whole competition and nobody would actually care, say "thank you very much" and proceed to deliver a beatdown to the Bugs. This may actually have been the place where Dale Hartford-Phelps was like "let's build some character" and played the kids, upon consideration. Between Meldi'ita Mungwaii, Junia McCue, Reinhold Elston, Rosalie Penn-Dayton, Paula Preckwinkle, and Doro Aemon-Shay, Arlington helped construct lots of character. Molly Nestor was the only goalscorer for the visitors.

In the battle of the German-speakers, Eintracht Trink got the only upset. A nervy first half finished 1-1 via goals from Rolf Ronake-Daste (Cham) and Keiko Mitsubishi (Trink). A Kayla Haugen header opened the second half for Cham, but Trink quickly pulled one back via Rutger Jenkins-Palin. The momentum helped, and Moira LaRue found the winner five minutes later.

Elsewhere, Forest defeated the Rovers. Farrokh Sokhi, Sakina Keshavan-Kaur, and Ganesh Pandey all scored, while Paavo Loris was the only scorer for the Rovers. This wasn't important at the time, and it wasn't exactly important later either, but...it's foreshadowing, okay, you'll see.

Second Round

Arlington City 2–0 Canbix Muses
Namiri Forest 1–1 Keppal Cosmos
Bassabook Old Boys 0–3 Ephesian FC
Eintracht Trink 0–1 102d Jr.s
FTC United 0–2 Trebuchet Cham
Excelsior Slogda 2–1 Sporting Esper
Rovers United 5–2 Namiri Independent
Spenson Suburbia 2–2 Twineur Bugs

Arlington manage to do what they couldn't during the regular season, and that is defeat Canbix, behind goals from Preckwinkle and Elston. Ephesian also remain perfect, with Paulina Henrico, Jesse McWhorter, and Marianne Ezekiel scoring to set up another big northeastern clash in the third round. The Rovers, fresh off of losing to one Namiri side, get vicarious revenge on another and get a positive goal differential to boot. Trink no longer have a positive goal differential after losing to Valerie Waugh and 102d. Forest and Keppal play out a stale draw, with Pandey scoring for the hosts and Dimitra Exarchopolous for the visitors, thus prompting the Janaki Gardens PA announcer to puzzle over "Exarchopolous." Keppal don't get to claim the "fighting on two fronts" excuse for how tired their defense has looked, they weren't up to much in the league either.

Third Round

Ephesian FC 2–1 Arlington City
102d Jr.s 0–0 Namiri Forest
Keppal Cosmos 2–3 Trebuchet Cham
Rovers United 0–1 Canbix Muses
Eintracht Trink 4–1 Excelsior Slogda
Twineur Bugs 3–2 Bassabook Old Boys
Spenson Suburbia 0–0 FTC United
Sporting Esper 1–0 Namiri Independent

In the northeastern battle, Ephesian get the edge, with goals from April Ixcal and Jaclyn Burkhart more than what Penn-Dayton could contribute. But again, both of these sides have more important things to think about than this, like trying to win the league (spoiler alert: they will not). 102d and Namiri Forest play out a quiet scoreless draw, with Fedya Troy-Vee occasionally spurred into action but both sides mostly content to park the trains. Somehow this gives 102d the right to face Ephesian in the next round, as the latter seek to clinch the cup championship, but again, 102d are also aiming for an IFCF place.

Canbix defeat the Rovers behind a Dina Udrie-Lous tap-in. This isn't surprising. The Rovers, bluntly, aren't even a good team, and they can't use the "dead people" excuse (not that they would want to anyway), they're just a bad side. Which is fine! Sometimes baddish sides even qualify for the VCI, as the Rovers did a couple seasons ago! It's just...well.

Another side that is not good is Slogda, and they were easily beaten by Trink, with Hanna Suzuki assisting both Piet Wilkes and LaRue. Noelle Raschka scored a blazing long shot from distance, and Mitsubishi tacked on a fourth in added time.

Fourth Round

Ephesian FC 1–0 102d Jr.s
Arlington City 4–2 Eintracht Trink
Trebuchet Cham 2–1 Namiri Forest
Canbix Muses 4–2 Keppal Cosmos
Twineur Bugs 2–3 Rovers United
Sporting Esper 0–1 Bassabook Old Boys
Excelsior Slogda 1–0 Spenson Suburbia
Namiri Independent 1–2 FTC United

Geomraff yCinrhadd scores for Ephesian to end his tenure in Zwangzug with a real and definitely prestigious and valuable trophy, as the capital side wins the Cereal Cup. 102d are off to the IFCF so they really don't care. Canbix defeat their bitter-central rivals to finish with three wins from four, but they're off to the IFCF so they really don't care. Arlington and Cham defeat Trink and Forest, respectively, but they're off to the IFCF so they really don't care. The italicized "they"s in the previous sentence refer to "Arlington and Cham," who are the subjects of the sentence. Not to Trink and Forest. Who do care.

Because, in either a remarkable display of parity and competitiveness or a synopsis of how silly and absurd this competition is, the champions of the cup tally are Ephesian (4 points), who can't go to the VCI. Trailing them on 3 points are Arlington, Cham, and Canbix, who can't either. Trailing them on 2.5 points are 102d, who weren't even expected to do this well in either the cup or the league, but did, and...well. That brings us down to the four teams sitting on four points. We'll go ahead and say that goal differential matters here, so Bassabook and their -1 are disqualified. But Namiri Forest, Eintracht Trink, and Rovers United all have two points and plus one goal. What now? Head to head? Namiri beat the Rovers in the first round, but Trink weren't involved, so...

After a long and eager discussion in league headquarters, we decided to defer to the precedent set by the coolest and tallest of the club invitationals. Sorry, Vilita...it's time for a three-way round-robin, Aeropag style. The matches were held down in the Eagles' Club to be fair and remove the need for home advantage, although when one of the clubs is Rovers United does that even matter? Whatever.

Rovers United 1–2 Eintracht Trink
Namiri Forest 2–0 Rovers United
Eintracht Trink 3–0 Namiri Forest

Fortunately--except for the neutrals who were hoping for penalties--the outcome was clear-cut. Trink won both of their games handily, with Savannah Kurge the only person to score against them. Wilkes and LaRue scored in the first game; Suzuki, Amane Tachibana, and Isidore Timm-Joffe in the finale. Forest blanked the Rovers, which gets them...nothing, honestly, this isn't the kind of mini-tournament where second place matters. No offense.

Last season's championship rematch came early, with Helena Buis and company defeating Zwangzug University in the second round. We would be denied a Buis-Theodore showdown in the finals, however; despite leading their respective sides to the quarterfinals, the Nepharim seniors end their academic careers there. Still, a very impressive performance, and no doubt 1./ sides will be chomping at the bit for them should they choose to enter the transfer lists.

Credit to Louise Halldorson, the manager of Engdahl Institute, for guiding her side to another strong finish. Halldorson has a gentle touch on the field, but is very scientifically minded when it comes to practices and formations to use. After mentoring Lianne Northrup and the next wave, she might be looking for another challenge? Or maybe not. Anyway, I better post this before it's September.

Challengers Cup: Latrobe Athletic, Coquitlam United, Clayquot City
Cup Winners' Cup: Kirkenes FC
Liga B Trophy: NGSA Ulyanof, Wynleth Flyers, Colwynian Vale

Final site bids:
Champions League: Stadium Konoha, Burnaby (60,300)
Home of Burnaby SC, features a retractable roof with strings of pretty lights on it. Burnaby is the third-largest metropolitan area in Kelssek. nestled between the mountains and the shores of Lake Konoha. The city and its surroundings is a mecca for outdoor sports especially skiing, mountain biking, and climbing. It is known as a software engineering and electronics manufacturing hub as well as for its countercultural scene which attracts more than a few tourists looking to drop some (legalized, government-regulated) psychedelics.

Cup Winners' Cup: Millennium Park, Redswyth (53,500)
Millennium Park is in the western part of the city and replaced an older stadium known as Bankstown Lane. The heritage frontage of the old stadium was preserved during construction and is now the access point for beer, hot dogs, and other stadium catering offerings. It is home to Rugby Superleague club Redswyth Rebels. Redswyth is a post-industrial city that is still home to a great deal of aerospace and auto manufacturing. Its time as the industrial centre of Kelssek leaves its legacy in the city's impressive Gothic revival architecture. Dorson Quays, the banks of the Northern Canal, and Eastbourne Road are the best neighbourhoods to find nightlife and interesting shops.
