Sanford is new to international football, but its ambitions — specifically, the ambitions of D. Tommy Sanford — are far from small. Tommy Sanford founded a club and built it the largest stadium in the entire country — in fact, if you filled every stadium in the Sanford PREMIER League to capacity, just over forty percent would be at the Tommy Sanford PREMIER Stadium — before Sanford Falls PREMIER had ever even played a single match. Sanford Falls PREMIER won the inaugural edition of the Sanford PREMIER League on the league's final matchday, with a one-nil win over the then-second-placed Baptists, in what was just one of the Tommy Sanford PREMIER Stadium's greatest moments. The stadium also hosted the first-ever match in the Sanford PREMIER League's history, a six-two home win over Lewiston Clark. After one season, Sanford Falls PREMIER has yet to lose a single match at the Tommy Sanford PREMIER Stadium in all competitions; in fact, each of the three most lopsided matches in the Sanford PREMIER League's young history were all Sanford Falls PREMIER home wins at the venue: the six-two win to christen the stadium, a five-one win over traditional powers River Valley, and a nine-three win over Corn Palace which set several records. There can be no question that the Tommy Sanford PREMIER Stadium is the newest, largest, and best stadium in Sanford — and despite its young life, it even has some real history, too. The only major club from the remaining Whittorian Isles within the Territories, AFC Whittorians were originally set up by Whittorian refugees and Euran Marines. They have a small but modern and picturesque stadium overlooking a stunning island view (its name comes from a sponsorship deal with Euran aerospace giant Mansley), which makes for perhaps the most anticipated away day in the league for other teams; though it does also mean shaky short haul flights to the islands. Kelly Rose is a very talented young manager who has got this side into the Primary League again playing attractive, free flowing football.

Set up originally by Sunrisian and Hinodejin peacekeepers, Argus Wild Arms are new to the Primary League, and were an amateur team until EOFL’s formation. They have an old athletics track as a stadium with a funky Sunrisian name, lovely weather on most matchdays and a pitch that only stays alive through some kind of divine intervention. They feature some solid former Gold League players including Goro Tanaka, and Pluto Akiyama, who won the Primary League with Fligsive.

Originally a Tertiary League club, Auto Sinclair have risen quickly to the top flight and look set to stay there on current form. Originally a business venture led by Euran World Cup winning legend Craig Sinclair, in partnership with a local independent car factory, the club are managed by Sinclair but also owned by him, the factory owners and his two brothers, themselves successful businessmen. The club have a newly built stadium next to Bakermouth’s rapidly growing docklands district, and a fine reputation already for sourcing local talent.

A new club, Bakermouth are the main club of the eponymous city, the biggest “new city” in the Territories founded by the new regime and growing quickly to a population of one million on the east coast. For the purpose of nation building a hugely impressive new 60,000 seater stadium was built, complete with all the latest facilities and technology, and a giant single tier stand behind one of the goals. They play in a striking red kit similar to Directus, however the real inspiration comes from Lord Baker (where “Bakermouth” comes from), a historic Euran national hero commonly associated with the red and gold colour scheme sometimes used by Euran sporting institutions, most notably the national football team.

When the Eurans arrived in Magnaeus it was a city in desolate chaos, having fallen into disrepair under the light touch governance of Runtenbach and the Sunrisians. Surprisingly little thought was given to saving the famous Blades. Then came along Mary Hadlee, a Euran billionaire steel magnate and massive football fan who saw an opportunity to reanimate a classic Mertagne club with her own money. She got started quickly pulling together this phoenix club and rebuilding their iconic Bird Cage stadium and its innovative arching metal bar roof supports, with a slightly lower capacity than previously. Otis Henry manages the side – possibly the best young Expat manager – and they have a strong, experienced side with multiple EOT internationals and overseas players.

Burgess are another revived club, one of the “Big Three” of the old Mertagne/Calanian Union clubs that remain in any shape or form. Their heavy Sunrisian influence is obvious with their early commitment to a Sunrisian inspired exciting style of play (their stadium is coincidentally called Sunrise Park), but there’s also the hallmarks of Euran football present with an increased pitch size for possession play being a hallmark of Sunrise Park’s redevelopment. The originally Kytlerian-designed stadium has a lower capacity than previously due to damage sustained during the Collapse, lower by 7,000 seats. However, it retains its relative charm for a modern stadium, and a gorgeous view of the Calanian coast over the top of the low and uncovered East Stand. The team itself is perhaps the weakest of the larger teams in the division, though it has some decent former Euraleague players among its number. The exception to this rule is Timwise Gerduns, a former EOT international signed the season before last who played for Revolutionaries for many years.

Crater Town is a new club serving the sprawling junktown of Crater at the edge of the rim of the Great Fligsive Crater (now filled in by the sea). It’s one of the most iconic grounds in the country already and very unique; it’s very small, is all-standing, features a strangely unpredictable pitch and even weirder weather due to unexplained consequences of the “Fligsive Event”, with the stadium sometimes subject to baking sun and spine chilling rainstorms on the same day. Former Euran international and lesser known Oslograd brother Albin Oslograd is the manager, and has done a good job of keeping this side in the Primary League so far on minimal resources.

One of the earliest clubs in the newly founded Territories was Exiles United, a club set up by a group of disillusioned Expats with a variety of axes to grind against the Euran government; ex-convicts, fringe activists, social outsiders and mid-life crises havers all rolled into one disaffected team. The professionalisation of the league has somewhat taken away from that identity with most of the players now not having spent time in prison, but on the pitch at least they still have an edge, playing a direct and hard tackling style of football. They also have some decent players, most important among them stocky centre forward John Blake.

One of the first new clubs created in the Territories after the Collapse, this Apoxian diaspora team have been here since the genesis of the EOFL. They play at Tregajorran Arena, named after the Apoxian footballing great, who went on to become the first Euran Oceania Territories national team manager. The club has become something of a destination for ageing Apoxian players looking to extend their career, and was carried out of the Secondary League by players like Lucan Palmisano, Willem Ajax and most lately Imriel Townsend. All of them are playing below their level even for their age, but despite their moderated pay demands, these few star players consume most of the team’s budget. The Apoxian connection continues with the manager Robbie Faulkner, a former Euran international who spent most of his career playing club football in Apox.

Formerly one of the biggest clubs in old Mertagne, Fligsive FC are by far the biggest club in EOT. Thanks to the Euran government funded rebuild of the iconic Flynn Arena (and Euran investment in the city in general), the club was able to survive the period of the newly formed and growing Territories having no professional league. They claim a lot of the heritage of the original Fligsive FC, including the same stadium, same kit and a strikingly similar badge with a small Euran flourish to it. But the Flynn Arena now has blue and gold seats as opposed to its old green and black design, so some things have changed. The side have utterly dominated the early years of the EOFL, winning the Primary League title in all four seasons, though they have only won the Expat Cup once. They sport young talent such as Henry Jenkins and formerly Jacob Hayden, but their budget also allows for a number of veterans who are simply too good for this league – among them Brae Crowther, captain Peter Chadwick, Morgan Fox and Tom Duffy.

A new club formed for the benefit of Judgetown, a Euran “New City” named after the wartime Prime Minister Michael Judge. The city is near the site of the old Mertagne city of Milenol, and is slowly enveloping what is left of it. The new club needed a stadium, so the government built the unimaginatively named “The New Ground” (ripe for sponsorship rights, of course) and handed it over to the new club. To their surprise the club gained a following much quicker than expected and has been able to expand their stadium from its original 25,000 capacity to accompany 30,000 fans. It’s a regular sell out, and with a decent team on the pitch boasting some ex-Euraleague players, more than a match for its opponents in the Primary League. In time it could become one of the bigger clubs.

Managed by original Euran Oceania Territories international Bart Jones, this originally Audioslavian expat team is based on north east coast, and their name translates as “shipbuilders” – perhaps unsurprising given the stadium is right on the edge of the shipyards east of Burgess. The supporter base is very working class and its core a tight knit community of shipbuilders from all around the multiverse that have come to the Territories. Fans are not just spectators here; the Supporters Trust owns 60% of the club’s shares. This gives the club a rare claim to be a genuine team for the people, even if it means they aren’t the richest side around. As one might expect given their heritage, Itsasontziak and the other “KT” teams in the Territories have a significant Audioslavian contingent in their squad.

New Bastion is another “new city” and one with less ambition than Bakermouth. It was set up with nakedly political intentions as you can guess from the name of the city, headquartering the Territorial Administration during the reconstruction of Fligsive. It was decided with the future in mind that a football team should be set up with a standard mid-sized modern stadium, which is how New Bastion FC were born. Their kit and stadium colour scheme is white and black, a subtle inversion of the famous Bastion from who they take their name. They are managed by one of the first coaches of the Expat national team, Rhys West, and boast a strong squad. This season they will have talented loanee Ethan Douglas on their books, son of former Euran international goalkeeper Jeffrey Douglas.

Much like Crater Town, Nostromo were born in the remnants of a great crater-spawning cataclysm, just of a very different and historic variety. Based out to the west inside the Webster Crater, Nostromo were formed out of the still burning embers of an old, dying club from Mertagne, Nostromo Meteorites. Nostromo is technically a new entity but in spirit is a continuity club, and as a tribute to its origins, goes by the nickname “Meteors” and sports a blazing rock as its logo. They play on an absolute dustbowl of a pitch inside a big but crumbling home, the old Point Impact stadium. Facilities are rudimentary at best but that doesn’t stop the team attracting a raucous crowd to their near-derelict stadium. Nostromo used to be one of the biggest five cities in Mertagne but is a shadow of its former self, and the same could be said of this team. However, that only makes them all the more eager to return to their former glories under the tutelage of Gavin Chamberlain.

One of these clubs is not like the others. Possibly the biggest impact Skorji Oslograd has had on football in the Territories, aside from massively boosting its profile at home and abroad, is his leading role in constructing a major national academy inspired by overseas projects like the Sunrisian Project 90+ and the Apoxian Centre for Excellence. What is possibly unique about the Skorji Oslograd National Footballing Academy (SONFA) is that it will run as an actual football club as well as a pool for national youth talent to develop. Playing under the name Oslograd Academy at the newly constructed 66 Park (named after the iconic World Cup final Oslograd played in), they feature a uniquely young squad due to a self-enforced limit of three players above age 23, and are likely to be a hot destination for loanees from leagues around the world. Manager Lucas Kukiseso enjoyed a remarkable first season in charge, taking the Academy to the league and cup double, making them the first club other than Fligsive FC to win the Primary League.

Second Division
The Leaguealese Second Division is split into two leagues -- Group Damhan and Group Cushing. Both League's Winners are locked into the Liga B Champions' Trophy, and need to win one game in the post-season playoffs to lock in promotion. The rest of the top 7 in each group are also promotion-eligible, with the winner of a playoff between the 2nd and 3rd placed sides earning the third Liga B spot and automatic promotion.

The MAFF (Maramaa´s Association Football Federation) is proud to introduce the outcome and conclusions of the First Season of the newly created Division of Honor. A total of 8 professional football clubs have taken part in the competition eventually won by Shynik FC, who also clinched the right to participate in the next call for the IFCF Champions´ League.

The league has been played during 28 match days in a tournament in which every team had to face all the other teams 4 times, 2 at home and 2 away. The runner up, Maragrad, was awarded the right to take part in the IFCF Challenger´s Cup. Since this very moment, the MAFF Technical Secretiariat will be committed to speed up all the necessary bureaucracy towards the inscription of both clubs.

Being the inaugural Season, the MAFF had decided that no team would be relegated to what in the following year will start as the First Division.

Here below, you can check the league´s results and the final standings divided in two half-season sheets.

MAFF would also like to offer, in subsequent posts, a succinct view of all the participants in the tournament.

In addition, MAFF is planning to publish (in the normal available means) a magazine where the fan will be able to follow all the highlights of the Season 2.

Many years have past since Thalamascia last since played in international waters, however it was decided after a long deliberation that they should again. Though they know that the mountain they have to climb is steep and one in which they are disadvantaged at every turn, the teams and players look forward to the challenge of once again claiming respected spot among the Esportia footballing powers. Though it is not the long traditional powerhouse of Titanes that leads the way but that of oft runners up and third place Taiyou-Niséllion who snatch the crown from the powerful club, becoming only the fifth club to have won the Superleague of Thalamascia.

Final site selection
3 bids were received for the honour of hosting the Champions League final. As such, the IFCF hosting committee delved into their board game cupboard and set up a game of Sternhalma. After much bickering following the Starblaydi team refusing to use the sky blue pieces, a stray pigeon delivering late entry submissions knocking the board over and necessitating a restart, and an impromptu blackout following a thunderstorm, the Savojar team emerged victorious, and as such the final will be held at the 76,800 seater Nationalstadion Carl Gustaf Bjurman, Sjoedrhavn, Savojarna.

Final site selection
4 bids were received to host the Challenger's Cup finals. The Poafmer who was placed in charge decided to make the 4 delegations send representatives to play Bridge, a card game that has become quite popular in Poafmersia in recent years. It was half a day of chaos. A team managed to let a winnable grand slam go down one while their opponents made that grand slam redoubled; another team managed to play the same deck of cards thrice without alerting the Director; and a pair played trumps when they still had cards in the led suit. In the end, the Pasargan team managed to come out overall first, and therefore, the Stadium of the Moon (84,000) in Lunas, Pasarga will host the Challenger's Cup finals.
