But....but...resisting.....eating drugs.....
The police really need to stop rallying around scum like Chauvin. It makes them all look bad.

Tbf i don't see a lot of cops rallying around Chauvin. The most damming testimony from the prosecution has been from cops.

I've seen quite a few in my area, as well as with thec op defenders. A few days ago I even drove past some people with a "Free Chauvin" sign near their blue line flag.

People like this (race slur) only suck the social support out of the pockets of the decent hard-working taxpayers (and yes I am a working taxpayer if you want to know).

He testifies that his opinion is George Floyd died from a low level of oxygen that caused brain damage and caused an arrhythmia that made his heart stop.
Dr. Tobin testifies that this image of George Floyd which shows his knuckles against the tire of the squad car is "extraordinarily significant" because it shows that Floyd has used up all his resources and is literally trying to breathe with his fingers and knuckles.
He also claims that even a healthy person (someone without George Floyd's pre-existing medical conditions) would have died if they had been subjected to everything George Floyd was subjected to.

Yep, this thugs life sure does matter.

I am starting to think that shooting Chauvin while he was kneeling on Floyd's neck should have been considered a case of legitimate use of force in defence of the victim of an armed criminal.

Not guilty. That's right not guilty. If there is any reasonable doubt about a case and a charge, then it definitely shouldn't be a guilty verdict. You have to have absolutely no doubt that Derek Chauvin committed second-degree intentional murder. But there is plenty of reasonable doubt in this case. Now would I like to see Derel Chauvin go to jail and get punished, absolutely! But remember you have to separate what you want and your emotions from law and justice. If they decide on guilty, the justice system has failed Derek Chauvin.
There are other charges against Chauvin. I dont disagree he may not be convicted on the murder 2 charge. I would be very surprised if he doesn't get convicted on murder 3, or the manslaughter charges.

In general I am pretty pro-cop. That said, I agree with that conclusion. If someone pulled out a piece and shot Chauvin without a warning, and used a "saving a life" defense. I wouldn't convict.

Manslaughter almost certainly is going to land, at least in my relatively uneducated understanding of the law. And so would third degree murder, and if the jury decides it is a hate crime then it could be second degree murder too, on the assumption that Chauvin killed Floyd because he's black. It's a bit of a stretch, but the first two should put Chauvin away for a long, long time.

Chauvin’s fellow officers should’ve stopped him or made it clear he needed to ease up, and they didn’t. That’s negligence on their part.
