Apparently it's reasonable to doubt that cutting off someone's air for ten minutes and refusing to let EMTs help him would kill someone.

The police really need to stop rallying around scum like Chauvin. It makes them all look bad.

Tbf i don't see a lot of cops rallying around Chauvin. The most damming testimony from the prosecution has been from cops.

I've seen quite a few in my area, as well as with thec op defenders. A few days ago I even drove past some people with a "Free Chauvin" sign near their blue line flag.

People like this (race slur) only suck the social support out of the pockets of the decent hard-working taxpayers (and yes I am a working taxpayer if you want to know).

Most people have value or the potential for value. George Floyd had a family, had hopes and dreams, had paid taxes in the past, and, at one point, was a pillar of his local community, speaking out against gang violence and giving a voice to millions who struggle with poverty, crime, and addiction. Floyd's lifelong struggles seems to have revolved around his drug addiction. G-d shaped each and every one of us though. While it may interest society to punish us for our transgressions, that does not mean that we're worthless.

I am starting to think that shooting Chauvin while he was kneeling on Floyd's neck should have been considered a case of legitimate use of force in defence of the victim of an armed criminal.

As a white supremacist, my opinion is somewhat biased, but I believe that he is not guilty. There was a direct threat to the officer’s life from the scourge of (race slur that I can use because I’m half-black), the junkie clearly died from overdose, not asphyxiation and anything else, he had an extensive crime record (personally I don’t think that people like him even deserve to live), he literally swallowed the drugs not to get busted, and the funniest thing is that he said that he can’t breathe while sitting in a squad car.
Yep, this thugs life sure does matter.

In general I am pretty pro-cop. That said, I agree with that conclusion. If someone pulled out a piece and shot Chauvin without a warning, and used a "saving a life" defense. I wouldn't convict.

Not guilty. That's right not guilty. If there is any reasonable doubt about a case and a charge, then it definitely shouldn't be a guilty verdict. You have to have absolutely no doubt that Derek Chauvin committed second-degree intentional murder. But there is plenty of reasonable doubt in this case. Now would I like to see Derel Chauvin go to jail and get punished, absolutely! But remember you have to separate what you want and your emotions from law and justice. If they decide on guilty, the justice system has failed Derek Chauvin.

There are other charges against Chauvin. I dont disagree he may not be convicted on the murder 2 charge. I would be very surprised if he doesn't get convicted on murder 3, or the manslaughter charges.

Manslaughter almost certainly is going to land, at least in my relatively uneducated understanding of the law. And so would third degree murder, and if the jury decides it is a hate crime then it could be second degree murder too, on the assumption that Chauvin killed Floyd because he's black. It's a bit of a stretch, but the first two should put Chauvin away for a long, long time.

Manslaughter landed quite some time ago. We're now debating whether it's manslaughter, murder 3, or murder 2. I'd be shocked and appalled if Chauvin walks. I think it's murder 2 at this point.

It sounds like it, though I would not recommend that unless you plan on getting into a shoot-out with the police.

Because that’s something else that we need. Partisan vigilantes shooting down cops based on personal judgement. And considering the misconceptions of what “unnecessary force” is - half the cops in the nation would be dead if that one caught on. (Predicts to hear “Good” in response to this.) Besides I thought “armed lunatics playing at hero” was a no no...

Chauvin’s fellow officers should’ve stopped him or made it clear he needed to ease up, and they didn’t. That’s negligence on their part.
