Even if they did use it "as a release", there must be a healthier way to treat these people's psychological problems.

Porn is actually pretty fucking healthy. Antipornism is the only thing that's inherently unhealthy here.

Besides, if they are watching porn that could mean that the actors would effectively become the victims, due to the exploitation occurring in the industry.

The only inherent exploitation in porn is that which is inherent to capitalism itself. Which is why I don't consume mainstream porn.

There is no reason to hate women in general, in my view. But it can't be denied that women tend to hold quite a power over men for various reasons. It is perhaps the natural order of things. There is free will of course, but the temptation to cede ground is probably greater.

People today are, in terms of general outlook, basically the same people that existed throughout all of human history. This article explains a lot more about the Tumblr situation -- and for those of you saying that it's 'all porn' -- I was unaware that 1% of the user base creating porn posts, and 22% of the user base reading it, was "all" or even "mostly".

Hilariously, the platform marked its own announcement about the ban as being explicit. Tell you a bit about how well it does its own job.

Long story short: they want to monetize the site even more, and think that alienating the very people they want to make money from is going to double the number of daily users.
