You've heard of the name, but what does it represent?

Established on January 9th 2004, Eurth (f.k.a. Europa) is one of those rare ancient regions, founded relatively short after the creation of NationStates.

This diverse community is a pristine mosaic of all types of governments, committed to the ideals of freedom and opportunity. In many ways, the people who come to Eurth hold those values dear.

Whether you are a new nation or oldtimer, there is a lot to do for everyone. To cater to those many different tastes, we have a collected a series of tutorials to help you out.

Looking over our shoulder, it's been a long and varied journey, with ups and downs, yet still we march on.

This evening I have update our regional map. This includes two proposals for the prime meridian. Our next move should be to decide which capital city (or other) would be best suited to serve this role as a scientific observatory. My proposal shows both Vocia in Vocenae and Tagmatica in Tagmatium. Comments and suggestions are welcome.

I'd like to wish all of our American friends a very happy 4th of July.

Status update.

1. Activity. The forum is lighting up. http://bit.ly/ns-europa Discord is exploding with activity. https://discord.gg/4APyeuf The summer peak season has arrived once more.
   
2. Roleplay. Many stories are going on at the same time. Good participation, with solid posts. Very nice. https://www.europans.com/index.php?c=31315
   
3. Map. Our discussion on proposals that lasted for 2 months has finally come to a close. There was a final regional poll to check sentiment. https://www.europans.com/index.php?show ... p=40003377 Right now the work to finish the more detailed version of the last agreed-upon proposal is begin carried out.
   
4. Security. Some idiots thought it would be fun to crash our region. Fortunately, our WA holds is a non-executive role. Nothing to see here. Carry on.

Another few weeks well spent. The summer peak season announced last time has shown itself.

Status update.

1. Activity. Many new members signed up these past weeks. This has translated into some the highest activity in recent years.
   
2. Roleplay. There's a lot going on. Some say even too much. Politics, drama, exploration, technology. Something for everyone!
   
3. Map. With the continents decided, we stepped up our game and made a few different versions showing: weather, oceans currents, prevailing winds, tectonic plates. The main focus right now is deciding names for each (sub)continent.

Status update.

1. Activity. Europa has grown to hit a new peak high of 71 nations. We're not recruiting, so this growth is due to other reasons. Very nice.
   
2. Roleplay. We seem to have hit a bit of a slump. There are many ongoing roleplays, but not a lot of updates. This is probably because we're hitting peak summer (July-August), and people are travelling.
   
3. Map. Bathymetry is finished. Topography is 30% complete. I'm currently reviewing and testing several colour templates to see which one works best for our needs.

Status update.

1. Activity. As indicated by @Sunset_Sea_Islands, this has seen some stagnation recently. I probably share some of the blame for this, going on vacation and all. We'll try to come up with some other ways to keep you entertained. One is the idea of "regional issues" as proposed by @Chatalhoyuk, currently under development by @Derthalen.
   
2. Discord. Our overly active Discord channel is a fun place to hang out and discuss our OOC efforts. Still, there needs to be a better translation from idea to actual RP. Time to lead by example.
   
3. Roleplay. The main attractions right now are our many news agencies and @Cashar's Sunny Bliss Cruise. I have updated our WFE to indicate the other currently active RP's.
   
4. Map. Voting on the continent names is still ongoing. This is the third or fourth reminder I have posted publicly. To wrap things up, I will set the deadline for August 31st. That still leaves plenty of time for you to click some buttons.

Hello survivors of the nuclear apocalypse! It is safe again to come out of your bunkers. Honestly, the rumours of zombie hordes ravaging the countryside are vastly overstated.

August came and went. And with that, we say goodbye to our featured nation @Sunset_Sea_Islands. Click here to discover who is September's favourite!

In other news, the poll on naming our continents has now ended. The results will be published on the forums.

Time for another bi-weekly status update.

1. Activity. Scratch that previous update where I complained about stagnating activity. Visitor statistics indicate we are seeing another large uptick in forum visits. And the number of members in Europa has been the highest ever since the start of our Renaissance project.

2. Roleplay. As planned and discussed in OOC, many new ideas are set to unfold. Right now there are several stories unfolding. In no particular order: Naval patrol by Arstotzka, VLA terrorism by Afropa, trade negotiation in Fleur de Lys, a joint science project several players. The future is looking interesting!

3. Map. Continent names were finally decided. Come have a look which content you are on! The topography (height map) was largely finished with the latest update. For the next update, I have started preparing the bathymetry (underwater) colourings.

4. Technical improvements. The past weeks I have consulted with some members, both inside the region and outside, about our securing our region's future. A plan was developed on how to proceed. Hopefully, I can release more information soon.
