Absolutely not. With the current political landscape of the United States, we need dissenting voices against the administration and those that want to divide this country. If Marvel writers want to express their opinions about that through comic books, then it's their god-given right to do so.

And frankly, having the literal embodiment of America, Captain America, being recruited by a literal nazi and an army of conservatives to fight against illegal immigration is just delightfully apropos given how things have been lately.

It's pretty clear that the OP is only upset because, gasp, people actually have opposing viewpoints to the new right-wing hegemony.

See: one of Marvel's most interesting villains -- Magneto. truly interesting because he 'makes the hard choices' to 'defend his people' -- He's 100% convinced that he's right, and as much as it sucks it's what he HAS to do. He's not a lol villain like Doctor Doom or the Red Skull -- a power-hungry tyrant. He thinks he is the hero and even expresses regret that the world ISN'T the way his friend Xavier thinks it is.

They should work on fleshing out more characters, hero and villain alike, in this manner, tbh.

Not entirely fair on Doom - all he does is for the good of his people. In fact,of all the multiverses, only in the one where Doom is the supreme ruler is there peace and safety

If you use contemporary group identity / opinion markers as a short-hand for who is supposed to be "good" and "bad," it's easy to forget that the most engaging villains are heroes in their own mind and only become monstrous through the depths that they take in pursuit of what they see as good.

I don't follow comics, but from what I've seen of the complaints - things like the [Unsolicited Opinions on Israel???] comic page - that's one of the things that Marvel may have been botching.

Conversely, it's hard to get into a "hero" if you're not convinced they're in some fashion heroic - either that they do good or that they are good.

I'm an avid Marvel fan. In fact, I'm so avid that I read the comic books. While reading the Sam Wilson, Daredevil, and Steve Rogers Comics, I found several . . . interesting things. The heroes seem to be anti-conservative.

That's because nowadays conservatives seem to love playing the villain in the most dastardly way they can think of.

No, people saw Batman as a conservative icon, successful businessman who used his skills and wealth to do what he felt was right. People had a problem with this, so they made Green Arrow, who was basically the same thing, but an environmentalist and mild socialist. Eventually in the comics and later the tv show, he becomes mayor on a liberal platform

How are they formulaic?

Here's a formula:

Here's not a formula:

[stuff] [heroes win]

And that is as close to a same formula as you will find in the MCU (in fact, it doesn't even always apply... especially if you include the television shows... speaking of which, are you actually suggesting the live action DC shows are superior to the MCU ones?).

Not that the existence of a formula ought to be a barrier to enjoyment.

I don't know where Judaism comes in here, because the right is arguably more pro-Jew given their positions on Israel.

But otherwise, yes - despite the Republican upset recently the majority of institutions within and outside the government in the USA have a marked leftist bent. It's impressive that the president is in fact in opposition to the majority hegemony.
