They don't have to take the memes seriously. I doubt anyone's seeing a meme and being like "LOL! I'm so voting for this guy!", however memes could influence people through habituation - people will find candidates to which they're exposed repeatedly less objectionable. Although, that's alone isn't likely to sway people and I doubt it's a significant factor.

Actually, I'm pessimistic about intelligence. Newton believed he could calculate the year of the apocalypse by studying the Bible. Newton was a genius. Intelligence isn't enough.

Never said it was the 'be-all'. I don't necessarily group intelligence and critical thinking skills within the same category. You can be intelligent, and still lack common sense. And vice versa. I'm sure many people are intelligent, but common sense -- they do not possess.

And before someone jumps down my throat, I'm not characterizing Trump supporters. Such proclivity towards intellectual laziness is something that both the left and right have; regardless of whatever ideology they have.

Who's ready to see the shitshow that will be the Grammy's tonight? I can't wait for the anti-Trump/pro-immigration nonsense that will spewed by these so called "artists."

They were humiliated once already. Deservedly so, however.

Well, Béyonce, Gaga, and Perry will be performing, so I can guarantee at least some politics.

They're all controlled liberals who know nothing about politics or economics. The only people who care about what they say are the people that say "xD donald hitler is just a reality show host (and a businessman but who cares) he doesnt know anything xDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD"

Yes, it is, I need to know who I'm speaking to so I can brace myself for the amount of pure unadulterated nonsense I'm going to hear uttered into my ears.

I'm providing examples of noble statesmen that contradict your overgeneralization.

So they aren't worth being called politicians then?

Depends on how you view politicians as a whole, whether it be statesmen or crooks. The GOP is hardly a unified bloc, and so to facetiously question their political status is confusing.
