"It could be a fear thing," Sylph offered. "Like, they're all terrified he might eat their planet, so they figure if they worship him, maybe he'll pass them up for other places. Then this Toxate guy gets wind of the whole worshiping thing, and decides he likes being seen as a god by an entire planet or system or whatever, so he enforces their beliefs by letting them live until, y'know, he doesn't. What I want to know is," she continued, "how do you know all this? And what just happened to you with all that collapsing and twitching and stuff?" She looked around the little circle of heroes. "Was nobody seriously gonna bring that up or ask if he's okay or anything?"

Weiss safely led the helicopter to the forest clearing, just as he was told, speaking not a word throughout the journey, his focus solely on the controls. Once the vehicle had safely landed, he moved outside and listened to Wanda with much attention, not wanting to miss a detail of the battle plan. From what he caught, it seemed a solid plan, about as good as they were going to get since Wanda was forced to come up with it on the fly, literally, but that didn't mean it was bad. He understood his role well enough, and though he wasn't thrilled to have to babysit Reven while carrying out his task, he had to admit that the ignorant boy seemed like he could be at least a bit useful, from what little he had seen of his powers.

Reven had enjoyed the flight towards the landing point, as it was a new experience and it had allowed him to look over the city and the nearby forest, which was quite nice. It was dark for him, what with the sun outside, but even so he appreciated the sights. Once the helicopter landed, he stood by, listening to what Wanda said. He was not as goal-minded as Weiss, not by a long shot, but he felt compelled to listen to the mission leader as well, for a very different reason. He understood that he was to go with Weiss, and that the important part of their task was his, so he figured he only had to tag along with him, possibly make sure that he was safe. So far, it didn't seem very troublesome.

After the debriefing, Weiss went back into the helicopter and came out with a pair of metallic gauntlets around his hands and forearms, gripping his weapon Nihil in its axe form in one of his hands. "You ready, Reven?" He asked the black-haired young man, who simply nodded in return. "Then come with me. We'll head in soon, and when we do, I want you to keep as quiet as you can and only talk if it's absolutely necessary. If you see someone approaching and they're not one of us, you shoot them, but otherwise don't use your weapon. Since we're going to be sneaking in I can't just take my armor, so I need you to protect me until we disable the defenses. Understood?" The brunet asked. Reven simply nodded again. "Good. Now we wait, then." He said. Reven suddenly reached to poke Nihil, but Weiss quickly moved it away and shook his head at him, much to his dismay.

That afternoon, Jamie was lying idly on her bed while playing an old but surprisingly well-maintained GameBoy Advance. It had been a particularly lazy day for her, as she hadn't left the room and had spent the whole day playing videogames, literally, as androids such as herself didn't need to sleep. Clad in a simple white nightshirt with a red and white mushroom on the chest, she had been at it for what she calculated was more than ten hours, and her calculations were always correct, since she wasn't an android for nothing. She continued playing with the occasional smirk, grunt or whistle, burning through the fifth or sixth title since she began and finally passed the final boss, which was indicated by the wide smile on her face.

"Suck on that, Dracula." She mumbled with some enthusiasm, clearly thrilled about the irony of her statement. But after a moment, she sighed and set the GBA aside for a moment, looking at the ceiling with a blank stare. There was a certain... boredom, it seemed, in her, something that surprised her, seeing how she hadn't previously grown bored through three long years of playing lots and lots of videogames. Confused, she laid motionless for a few moments.

"Well... I haven't eaten anything all day." She told herself, her voice betraying that she wasn't quite confident that this was the source of her unease. Still, it at least distracted her, and she started thinking about the matter of food instead. "Maybe I can order some pizza? Well, Mindy won't bring it here... Maybe I can make a Toad do it." She mused. Turning her head left and right, she looked for her phone and finally spotted it, on a desk a few feet away, next to her PC. She stared hard at it for a few seconds, before rolling away from it.

"Hmph. It's not like I actually need to eat, anyways." She mumbled. It was technically true, but she was mostly being lazy. Just then, however, her cellphone made a certain noise. With a groan, Jamie stood up and walked over to it, plopping down on the chair next to the desk and picking up her phone. It seemed that something had happened near Douglas Street, and Katie and Cora were already on the case. Now, normally she would get up and go as well, nevermind what she was doing before, since it was her job as a Justice Queens. But since the message said 'We'll keep you posted', she assumed that it meant the two of them were enough to handle whatever it was. Thus, the android girl decided to humor her sloth some more and continued playing, smiling as she slid in a different cartridge.

Melissa smiled at Shino's answer and then gave one last look at the bodies she had left behind before heading out of the room and out of the building altogether. The sun on her face and the breeze blowing through her clothes and hair were both very welcome sensations; it hadn't been very long at all since she had last been outside, but the grim turn of events that had taken place inside the building made her feel as if it had been a while. Regardless, she continued listening to Shino, quickly growing rather fond of the redhead and her cheerful demeanor, which she found endearing and might have even called cute if the topic came out, though for now she simply listened. Idly nodding along Shino's words, Melissa was somewhat surprised to hear that the place she came from was similar to Earth, though seeing how the other woman looked completely human, it was reasonable to think that she'd hail from a similar place.

It was quite interesting to listen to Shino talk about her home. If what she said was true, then she certainly had come from a far away place, and she wondered how exactly the redhead had made her way to Earth, but it would've been rude to interrupt, so Melissa simply continued listening. The woman's earlier comment about being Geldran with a hint of Elihan now started making sense, as she was talking about the nations of her homeworld.

When she was prompted to continue talking about Earth and Pandora City, Melissa smiled and nodded at Shino, before looking at the sky, a finger on her chin. "Alright, let's see..." She trailed off, thinking of interesting trivia to tell her new friend. But her eyes went wide in shock all of the sudden, and she looked at a distant street, not seeing but sensing the authorities approaching. It was through their thoughts that she realized the full extent of the damage she had caused with her outburst, and they were clearly resentful about it, some of them going as far as to label her a monster. It hurt, and Melissa looked away with a grimace.

"Shino, I... Can we leave now? They're coming for me and I don't want to get caught. I realize that what I did caused a lot of damage, but it was for a good reason, and now... They think I'm a monster or a demon. I don't want to fall in their hands..." The blonde woman said as she took a few steps away from the street where the police was approaching.

Reginvaldr
Reginvaldr followed the drunk Valka with an amusing grin on his face. He wasn't exactly sure where they were going, as Valka hadn't been very forthcoming with details in her current state. Still he walked along with Dogomin through Asgard, it felt quite strange to be home once more. It didn't take long for Reggie to realize that they were entering a court room and he saw the large crowd staring at the defendant, and he figured out what was going on.

This was a trial, specifically Loki's trial.

Reggie didn't really know what to think of his grandmother. He never knew her very well and he had a desire to get to know his family even if they were bad people. Still she represented the destiny that he was trying to avoid. When he looked at her he couldn't help see the dangerous wolfish grin of Fenrir.

Then Odin called out to see if anyone had anything to say. Reggie knew he shouldn't say anything. Absolutely nothing good could come from him opening his mouth and revealing himself. But his Asgardian ADHD was going crazy, and he just couldn't help himself. Before he knew what was happening he was speaking loudly and clearly to the crowd.

"Uh, bye Grandma."

Shino herself didn't know what to think of that, but went with it anyway.
No point in being aggressive, especially since she knew the details of it all and it made complete sense as to how and why she'd do that.
Event if it did knock out a few people and cause collateral damage.
But hey, things like that happened all the time with her, maybe she wasn't the best to designate what was right or wrong.

But, she had the context behind it, and that's what mattered.
Plus, technically, if she were to lose control of her power, she'd get sent to a place where she could control it, right?
Yet sending her to that without any remorse didn't seem like a good thing to do.

"Leave? Uh, sure. Where to?"

Cora
Recharge and Voltra made their way towards the scene of the crime. The crime was out in the suburbs of a city, an area known as Star Hills. It was a fairly poor area and there wasn't usually crime there so it was fairly common for the Queens to be visiting it while on duty. They arrived at the scene, seemingly before the cops had, but the blaring sirens in the air told the heroes that they were not far behind.

Cora's heightened senses told her that whoever had committed this crime was still inside the house and were walking out as they spoke. There were two of them, women as it were who seemed human by their voices and heartbeats.

"Let's go talk to them. See if we can't handle this peacefully." Cora told Katie before the two of them headed toward the house, meeting the likely perpetrated somewhere halfway.

"You two, were you involved in this?" Cora asking making an inclusive gesture with her arm. "This crime is serious people have died. Can you explain that, what happened?" Cora said, her fists were clenched out habit. These were criminals she would have to take in and she needed to be ready for a fight. But she would talk this to a conclusion if she could.

Both women looked around Cora's age, one with red hair the other with blonde. The blonde had a look that was quite familiar to Cora. It was one of someone who was lost, and looking for answers that seemed out of reach. Cora had the feeling that these weren't harden criminals but that didn't mean they couldn't be dangerous.

Shino didn't move, she just looked as if she was a deer in headlights.
Several thoughts ran inside her mind.

'So, what do I do here, do I just run? Nah, it'd be bad manners to leave her here.
Do I tell the truth? She'd be abducted though, even if I would be saved in a way.
Those people are likely similar to the police, going for them head on is a bad idea, even with a constant onslaught of arrows.
They also don't seem like the average, they wouldn't simply arrive and tell us to explain if they hadn't something tethering to fall on our faces at the simplest wrong move.
I dunno really, but what I do know is that I'd rather stay here rather than flee, even if I did, they'd think I was in with the 'crime' which totally wasn't the case.
Either way, I was staying.'

She didn't know however what to do.
So she simply stood and looked at the woman, as if analyzing her.

"Uh, you're here for the massive unconscious wave, right?
I wasn't expecting people to show up." She said, likely not helping her case, however, her hands weren't around her weapons at all, rather, she was looking to be rather calm and collected, not wishing for any violence to escalate.

Lance Norton

A slight smile was given to Elfie's statement. It was somehow cute the way she expected that things turned out peacefully, even when they were armed to the teeth and ready to explode things away.

"Yes, let's hope they do this right after the warning shots. If not... Well, that will be a shame. Their teddy bears will miss them. And if the bullets start flying, stay behind me, okay?"

Wanda ordered a distraction, and a distraction he would provide. The armored car at the parking lot was his objective, as he could clearly destroy it while using it as a weapon as well. As they were marching to the parking lot, Lance started to unload his light machine gun at the soldiers, who immediately returned fire.

The sound of bullets flying right into Lance's metallic body transformed the fight into something uncommon for them. Yes, the world was filled with metas, but somehow it was still uncommon to see a man walking through a stream of bullets like he was walking in the park.

"Well Good Girl, they didn't give up."
Nothing to see here, move along.

Elfie

"How unfortunate, come Sunny Day, time to defeat evil! And do not worry friend Lance, you are not the only one that can counter a bullet." Sure Lance could do it by simply being, but that didn't mean I was defenseless. The moment of 2 weapons hitting each other, the sensation of an attack heading your way. Time crawls nearly to a stop, and in that moment if your mind is clear and without doubt, you can use that moment to it's fullest. I charged forwards and left the cover off friend Lance and the bullets quickly came my way, but the moment they got fired time seemed to stop and I could see where they were headed. And without thinking, simply by letting my body react on it's own I moved just outside the bullets path and blocked another 2 with my sword. One I managed to deflect to the gun off one of the evil doers quickly disarming him.

Naturally this was extremely intense and my body nor mind would be able to handle this, bullet time, if you wish for long, I had to close the gap fast or risk getting hit. In just those few seconds I managed to get to a group of crates, blocking sight and any bullets coming my way while also allowing me to get ready for an attack as the enemy was just on the other side of the boxes. In a quick and fluid move I twirled around the boxes and struck at my opponent "横向きストライキ:風のダンス! (Yokomuki sutoraiki: Kaze no dansu!)" I couldn't help myself from shouting such things out, it intensifies the attack and strikes doubt and confusion in the enemy. Part of my training. And with that single movement I took out an enemy with my reverse blade sword Sunny Day and instantly took a safe position closer to the enemy.

Now why she screams those things?

Moving forward, Lance continued firing, both to suppress and kill their enemies. Their attention was divided between the two Warhounds, and soon retreated cover, both to reload and to reorganize their formation.

This opening gave Lance an opportunity to make a run for Elfie's position, while throwing grenades in the direction of the retreated soldiers. Now, he was near enough to destroy the armored car Wanda described.

"Dear friend Good Girl, think you can distract them long enough so I can break their wheeled evil machine?"
Nothing to see here, move along.

"Public disturbances tend to attract people." Remarked Katie, looking at the two of them. Her eyes curiously flitting from one to the other. She wondered how the two of them managed to take out so many people without any seeming injury. She walked around the two, circling them curiously, looking for any weapons as she zipped from one place to the other around them with quick speed. "You're lucky the cops didn't get here first. Then tend to arrest first and ask questions later in these sorts of scenarios." She spoke calmly, unlike Cora she seemed perfectly tranquil and unguarded, while her girlfriend seemed to be expecting a fight. "How did you take down so many so well? Not too many average citizens can do that sort of thing." She remarked, hoping they would reveal their powers to her.

"That was a very nice thing to do, giving out your currency," said Lorn appreciatively. "But my only fear is that currency will not be the only solution. Nevertheless, I suppose we must all do what is within our means." She finished, before turning and smiling at Ajax. Seeing a sinkhole in the street that appeared to be quite deep, she walked over carefully to it, not knowing if the street was stable. She peered down its depths, it being quite dark despite it being early morning. So, crouching down, the Alar princess held out her hand above the sinkhole and used her luminescence to light up her hand. It glowed a light blue and allowed her to see the pieces of the road. Using her adhesion powers to draw up the broken asphalt, she studied them, and, using her enhanced touch, was able to feel the grooves and curves of each piece, which allowed her to stick them together quite accurate. With the pieces glued together with her powers, she then placed it back into the road and then observed her work, jumping on it a couple of times to make sure that it was secure.

When that was done, she looked up and spotted a cat way up in a tree and frowned. Making her hands adhesive, she began to clamber up the tree to retrieve the marooned cat.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Etla," said Michael, smiling at her. "I'm glad to hear it, I saw some of it on TV. Would you like anything, if not food, perhaps a glass of water? He asked, standing up to reveal his considerable height and moving towards the kitchen.

The elder Thomsen then looked towards Craig with a raised eyebrow, bidding him speak.

"As for my request, Dad, following the invasion, I think it's sensible to say that no lone hero can be as effective as possible. And so, Etla and I, along with some of the other heroes we fought with formed a team, and I'd like your permission to join it. We've got two older heroes who are also willing to help, and of course, there's strength in numbers."

"That it?" Michael asked, shrugging. "Sounds good to me. It'll be good for you to have some peers who can do the things you do. But three conditions, Craig. One, you keep me updated. Two, you don't let this effect your schoolwork, when that starts up again. Three, you be careful, don't take on more than you can handle. Deal?"

"Deal." said Craig, marveling at how easy that had been. After Etla got her glass of water, Craig, after gathering some clothes and basic necessities, led her down to the basement, to a plain looking door with a fingerprint scanner. Pressing his thumb to the scanner, he leaned forward as a red beam scanned his eye and physical attributes. Then, a panel opened on the door, revealing a screen that read...

Code: Select all
Identifying....
CRAIG THOMSEN.
Access Granted.

The door then slid open, Craig holding open the door for Etla, before entering himself, the door promptly closing. "Well, Etla, welcome to my lab. But, as that's rather dull, I prefer to call it the Imaginarium. The room was outlined with silver and blue glowing lines. In the center of the room was a monolith with wires snaking all around it, along with various computer screens showing news networks and the video feeds from Craig's drones, most of them being blank besides a few showing an aerial view of D.C. Below the screens, surrounding the glowing monolith, were various other instruments. Lining the room were several bookshelves, that were full to the brim, along with a small refrigerator, a bed and several closed doors that hid other models of his suits of armor. Also near the center of the room, laid out on a desk was an electron microscope and other tools. "This is kinda like my mancave, if you have those in Diluvia. That reminds, me, an idea that I had"...said Craig, walking to the left of the room and pulling out a drawer full of microbots. Lifting up his hand, he began assembling the microbots, a process that didn't take long, the amalgam forming into a circular shield with straps, which Craig used to fit his arm into. "That might just work, but I still need to test it." He mused, then looking up at Etla. "If you don't mind, Etla, please attack me, with your shield. I want to see if this will hold together."

"I'll have you know that I miss my simple high school days, " she said, as if she was affronted.

"Well, some things I miss. other things I don't." But when Jasper mentioned the bill, she opened her mouth. "Oh. Yeah. Woops," she said with a sheepish smile, taking the money and tapping his number onto her phone as well. "Though, the only thrill and suspense there would be in how many doors I would have to knock on in America to come and find you again. Though, I could probably get my resident Earth personifiying teammate to find you, that might be quicker. Though that would be an accurate conversation...and I'm rambling again, sorry." Standing up, and gathering her things, she headed out with Jasper to go find Lorn. They roamed the streets in no particular hurry, chatting and helping out where they could, making their way to the National Mall. The fires had died down, and they saw a couple of heroes standing and talking, while Elena spotted Lorn a little away, looking back towards the mansion.

"It's good to see you alright, Lorn." said Elena with a smile.

"Indeed, Elena, and you as well. There were a lot of young heroes helping out, and we all managed to defeat them together. But...now, they were speaking of joining a team, and I would like to join." said Lorn quietly, looking away.

"You don't have to look away, Lorn, I'm not angry or anything. In fact, I'm glad, I think it'll be good. Hanging around with all us older folks isn't good for someone of your age, you need to be around girls and boys," Elena waggling her eyebrows, referring to Ajax, "of your own age. Just stay safe, and feel free to call me anything, or any of the JQ, you have all of our numbers. But just so I can keep an eye on you, here, have some of my space drugs," said Elena, chuckling, breathing into a dull sphere and handing it to Lorn, who took it, but looked confused.

"Your space drugs are different from our space drugs on Solunae. Though I thought this was a source of power for you?" Lorn queried, rolling the Stormlight sphere in her hands.

"Wait a second, you guys actually have space drugs? I'm going to need to hit those whenever we go back, which will hopefully be soon," she added on, seeing Lorn's forlorn reaction to the thought of going back to her people.

"This is Jasper, by the way, Lorn. And Jasper, this is Lorn." She said introducing them with waves of her hand.. After they had said their hellos, Lorn headed off with her new friends and Elena turned to Jasper. "Don't worry, I'll bring some back for you," she said with a smile, before becoming a little more solemn after a good laugh. "I suppose this is goodbye for now, Jasper. " she stated with a wry smile.

"Yes, yes, last words," said Valka, speaking up, all eyes turning to her. She pantomimed lifting a glass and then frowned at her hand as she brought it to her mouth, hoping that mead would materialize in her hand. Swaying a bit, she continued. "Which is, of course, strange, as..." Valka giving the first of many hiccups in this speech, "Loki...has be--en one who demands the mead." She said. "Nay, that is not right. Demands the, the, the last word! That is it." she shouted, frowning to herself.

"You art drunk, Captain." said Odin.

"Most assuredly, All-Father, and yet...there is verisimilitude in my speech. So hear me. I..for one, have few regrets about this. I have...few regrets about how much mead I have partaken, the only regret that lies within this AEsir is that she did not drink more. But...I have few regrets about this banishment. Though I do wish I was...banished to the Halls of Mead. Those do exist, do they not?" she asked, tottering a bit, seeing after-images of the her audience. "Loki has been a thorn in our sides, a thorn in my side for far too long. My cat-eye was lost because of her, a crime worthy of punishment since I can no longer..." Valka hiccuped again, "see the entirety of a glass of mead with two eyes. That...my shimmering friends, is a fate worse than being condemned to Hel's Realm. To never again see with blazing sight the frothy glory that is mead, to watch with eager delight as the tavern-master pours it and the bubbles rise higher than the heavens themselves, it is infuriating, I tell you!"

"But alas, I see no more...and so my mead is salty with the aftertaste of my tears...salty mead, that is utterly....utterly something, after I have tried it, my comrades, I will let you know. I am in sore need of mead...and of vengeance. And while the crime done to---hiccup--me---hiccup, was great, Loki has done far worse. Let us forget about making Thor dress up as a Jotunar, or cutting Sif's hair, we all know those. I tell you Asgardians, fellow lovers of mead and all that is frothy and alcoholic, once, this accursed Loki replaced our beloved mead---wait for a moment. There is no Goddess of--hiccup--. No, not the Goddess of hiccups, I mean...a Goddess of ---hiccup---...Curses!" shouted Valka. "There.." she said, gritting out the words, "is no Goddess of..." and she waited, to hiccup, before shouting out, "Mead! Hence, I put myself forward, dear All-Father. Our enemies will---hiccup---before us. Anyway...where was I...oh yes, the accursed Loki. She once replaced our beloved mead with water! That is unto treason, I tell you...but in closing, friends, I will tell you this. "Despite our disagreements, despite the crimes against--hiccup--mead, Urgrund shall be a less merry place without Mischief personified. Speaking of personification, if I were to become Mead personified..."

"Valka. I will excuse thy drunkeness, but for my sake, spare us." said Odin, sternly.

"Nay, father..." said Thor, who had been laughing continuingly, but he closed his mouth at a sharp glare from his father.

"As thou command, Boreson...perhaps when thou learn the meaning of mead, Loki..." Valka hastened on with another glare from Odin, "that is, loyalty, you shall return and we shall drink together. Because I am sorely in need. Thusly, do not keep me waiting." said Valka, hiccuping one last time and affixing her eye towards Loki.

Shino sat down and shrugged.

"Well, I only that kind of wave from psionics.
Fought a bunch from where I'm from, tenacious bastards they are.
But as for who did it, and why? Well, I'm afraid I can't tell you that.
Not because I don't want to, simply because I can't, and really, it wouldn't be polite now would it?
Don't get me wrong though, I'm not looking for a fight, or anything of the sort, if I did want one, I would've pulled my bow.
So let me ask you one thing, possibly unrelated to this.
If a boy that was carrying a ring stolen back from bandits and if you were the only one protecting him from people with unstable powers, what would you do?" She explained, oddly putting on a smile that could rival the Cheshire cat's.

Ajax
Ajax thought about what Lorn said and nodded, "You're right. A small donation like that isn't enough. This city is going to need real help, real support. Maybe I can set up an emergency fund to get people the resources they need." Ajax told Lorn, he really appreciated that they shared a similar desire to help people. He then watched as she endeavored to fix a large pot hole that was created in the street. She used her powers very creatively to solve the problem. Ajax was almost envious, she could do so much more than he could with a lot less effort.

Still, he pushed those negative thoughts away and just focused on admiring Lorn's selfless deeds. However he couldn't help but smile when she climbed up a tree after a cat. "Well, never thought I would actually see superheroes helping cats out of trees." He said with an amused grin.

There was a collapsed house on the corner of a street, and a group of citizens nearby were attempting to help out the family who lived in that house by lifting the rubble and recovering whatever part of their belongings remained intact. It was arduous work to be sure, but it was in times of crisis that the true nature of human beings emerged to the surface, and as it turned out, good was what was in the nature of many men and women. Not too far away from that scene, a boy with a white cap on his head and black markings on his arms watched the scene unfold as he walked towards the building. He had only recently arrived at DC, but he was already faced with the extent of the destruction, and worse yet, the corruption caused by the invasion of creatures from another world. He himself was not from Earth, but it was in his nature to seek to help others, and so, he walked towards the building. The locals regarded with him suspicion at first, but did not oppose his attempts to help out.

A few minutes later, the locals were amazed. For what he looked like, they had not expected much from the boy, but the strength he displayed was clearly above the human threshold, as he was able to lift the larger pieces of rubble with ease, saving a lot of work for the other people helping out and allowing them to finish rather swiftly. Needless to say, they were very thankful for his help and, owing to his solitary nature, he enjoyed the company that was offered to him by the locals. They greeted him warmly, introducing themselves and shaking his hand with what appeared to be admiration. He had to admit that he was quite fond of the feeling that came with such attention, though he tried not to let it inflate his ego too much, knowing the dangers of that. Before wasting too much time around them, he left to find something else he could do to help.

But as he walked through the streets, his senses alerted him to something. In the blink of an eye, he turned around and caught something between his fingers. As he did all of this practically on instinct, he was quite surprised to see that a knife was what was caught between his fingers, and dropped it at once, startled. As he looked back up, he saw two people behind him, across the street. One of them was the same thug from before, the one he had scared away from Sylvia's store. The other was a young woman, shorter than the muscle-bound man that was standing next to her, but somehow far more threatening to his animal side. She was clad in a mostly green attire that showed off her chest and matched her eyes and the light color of her hair. She was quite pretty, but alarmed as he was, admiring that quality of hers didn't even cross his mind.

"Oh? I was hoping this would be over quickly, but now I'm intrigued. Not many people can catch a knife like that." The woman said with a grin. However, upon inspecting the boy further, she frowned and turned to the man next to her, punching him in the stomach so hard that a part of him separated, leading to the creation of four smaller clones. "You idiot, this isn't the right person, you never said anything about glasses!" She shouted angrily, pointing at the boy, who was currently wearing a small pair of red rimmed glasses as a part of the disguise Sylvia gave him.

"No, no, it's the right guy! The markings on his arms are the same! The glasses are probably fake." The four clones all cried out in unison. The woman stared at the one on the lead, a skeptical look on her face.

"And you're completely sure about this?" She asked him. All four clones nodded in unison. The woman smiled, glancing back at Lizgaltrim. "Well then, this ought to be interesting. After all if you can catch a knife, who knows what else you can do. What's your name, kid?" She asked him. He could tell she was getting ready for a fight, judging by the way she was handling a red crowbar she held in her hand; there seemed to be another weapon on her back, but she didn't seem eager to use it yet. He frowned, not knowing if he could beat her if she could throw knives that fast and punch that hard.

"...Liz." He answered laconically as he looked all around him, trying to see if he could find any escape routes. The woman giggled at his name.

"Alright Liz, I like that you seem to be strong, but I'm afraid you attacked my little friend here. What's worse, you shot him with some sort of arrow, as he tells me. That means you didn't intend it to be a warning shot. You were going to kill him, weren't you? Not that there's anything wrong with killing besides the arbitrary laws that the weak like to impose on the strong, of course, but you see, the thing is that you hurt my friend and if I let that go unpunished, people on the streets may start saying that Ignition's gone soft. I don't want that, you know? So when you recover consciousness, just remember it's nothing personal." The woman said with a sultry voice, winking at the boy.

Lizgaltrim was surprised enough by her behavior, but what was far worse was when she attacked him. Since she closed the distance between them in but an instant, his demonic senses barely allowing him to raise his arm in defense. The spirit within him reacted to his plight and surrounded his arm with chaotic energy, strengthening it. However, even with this boost, when the woman's red crowbar collided with his arm, he let out a grunt of pain. He had felt that, even though his condition was enhanced by his demonic heritage and further so by his spirit's aid, which was a testament to the girl's monstrous strength. Yet, she had a calm look on her face, as if she hadn't even exerted herself, though she soon smiled.

"Not many people hold out after the first strike, I'll give you that. Maybe you'll be more interesting than ninety percent of the battles I've waged in the last four years." She stated, before giving him some space, as if to allow him to prepare himself. Using the spirit's powers, he formed a pair of blades around his arms with the same chaotic energy from before. Ignition took this as a sign that he was ready, and launched herself at Liz yet again. Now expecting the attacks, he was able to meet them far better than before, his shadow blades blocking the crowbar at every turn, causing it to crack even more, though it held strong so far. Liz himself wasn't faring so well; though he was blocking all of her attacks so far, it was quite difficult and he was barely holding his own, while she didn't seem to break a sweat.

Blocking one attack after another faster than most people could see, Lizgaltrim frowned, knowing that he wouldn't resist much longer like this.

Toxate
"Shall we head for the Sol System, sire?" said a robot. Toxate floated into the airlock from space as he picked his teeth with a tooth pick. "No, drone," he replied. "We will watch and observe them for the time being. When the time is ready, we will have the ship enter hyperspace towards the system." A fourth screen popped up and Toxate started plotting certain points on Earth as to where his future Herald will get the Earth ready for him. Once he was done with that, he did the same with the rest of the planets and the Sol System.

"Hmm." Sylph put her hands on her hips, pursed her lips, and squinted at Agent Spider, intending to come off as suspicious, though really just appearing rather silly as she was still sitting on the ground. Clearly, this boy was hiding something. He wasn't exactly acting his coolest, for one. All the shoulder rubbing, um-ing, and ear scratching were obvious signals he was nervous. Another point against him was his spider bite theory; while Ann didn't claim to be a professor of spider-science, she knew enough to know that spider venom didn't tend to stick around in a person for years. Then again, this was clearly a special spider to give him powers like this, so who knows. The real damning evidence of word-fraud was Agent Spider's behavior right after his little episode. Instead of expressing a little concern for himself, or asking what had just happened, he immediately launched into questions pertaining to this 'Toxate' guy. Putting two and two together, Ann decided that Agent Spider's seizure had something to do with his knowledge of Toxate.

None of that particularly mattered to Sylph, though. However obvious Spider's deceit was, he clearly didn't want to reveal the true way he knew about Toxate, and Sylph would respect his privacy. She knew what it was like to have a secret you didn't want anyone close to you to know about. Besides, it was enough that he was sharing the information about this threat to begin with. If he wanted to reveal his source later, that would be his decision. For now, it would probably be best if he didn't think she was all that suspicious of him, for the sake of both the friendship and work relationship. "All right," she finally said, returning her face to its normal cheerful expression and bringing her arms back to the ground. "That makes sense. Spiders can have some pretty weird poison! So, what now? Can we continue this depressing conversation about a hungry interstellar giant on the way to get some lunch? 'Cause I'm pretty sure I burned like a million calories burning up those meteors and am worn out."
Yet what force on earth is weaker than the feeble strength of one?

Kingdom of Irhk wrote:---

After waiting for a short time, Weiss and Reven both heard the sounds of fighting coming from the front entrance where Lance and Elfie were causing as much havoc as they could in order to create a distraction for the other members of the team to exploit. Said other members of the team were them, among others, so at that moment, while Reven looked on idly and marveled at the sounds of war, Weiss immediately sought to contact the others. Raising his watch to his mouth, he spoke. "Lady Hawk, this is Megistos. I can hear the fighting, so we're moving around the back." He announced, knowing that, as planned, Wanda would move to cover them as they attempted to sneak in. He had only been working together with Wanda for two years, but even so he had total faith in that she would carry out her task.

Using the woods as cover for his movements and making sure that Reven was in tow, Weiss moved around the base to reach the back, where a garage was supposed to be their entry point, as Wanda had informed him. He trusted her, and indeed, just as she said, he soon spotted a garage. Raising his watch to his mouth, he spoke again. "Alright, I see the entry point. Due to the attack, security seems to be tighened superficially, but most of the focus is at the front door. I'll try to do this as quietly as possible, since we're only here for the package." He conveyed through the team's radio frequency, and then, as told, began heading towards the garage. There were a couple of guards stationed outside, told to hold their position while the situation at the front door was resolved, but they were very clearly paranoid, which Reven intended to use to his advantage.

"What are we going to do?" Reven asked as he surveyed the situation. He supposed, given Wanda's reaction to his earlier comparison between their mission and James Bond movies, that going in guns blazing wasn't the best idea. Probably because Weiss didn't have a gun.

"I am going to use my assets in an intelligent manner to achieve my objective in as little time as possible. Watch and learn." The older boy spoke, his arrogant nature showing through some more. Then, he looked at his watch and spoke a few words and coordinates. In a matter of minutes, strange noises began to come from the forest, from the direction that was the opposite of theirs from the garage. The guards immediately went to investigate, leaving the field clear for him and Reven to enter the base. They moved quickly, soon leaving the cover of the trees, though by then there was no one present to detain them. They approached quickly, with Weiss instructing Reven to shoot at any cameras he spotted as they walked by. He figured it would not be enough to hide their presence; in fact, it would get whoever was watching all the more paranoid, but as things were, that worked to their advantage.

They were soon inside the hallways of the research complex, and soon, they heard footsteps. At Weiss' orders, Reven hid behind a corner, and the older boy did the same. His weapon Nihil seemed to shift from an axe to a hammer. He told Reven to keep calm and not to shoot, but to turn into his 'ethereal' form, which he did without questioning.

The footsteps, as expected, came from a pair of security elements dispatched to deal with the threat. As expected, they also attempted to towards the garage to rendezvous with the other security team and figure out what was going on. As expected, one of them was knocked out immediately by his own momentum and the force with which Weiss swung his hammer at the guard's head. The other one was too surprised to react quickly and so there was little he could do about a hammer to the head. Both of them were knocked unconscious, and without Reven's help, Weiss dragged both of them to a nearby room. Reven followed him inside, and was surprised to see Weiss undressing the guards.

"What are you doing?" Reven asked him, confused. Weiss looked at him and raised an eyebrow.

"What do you think?" He asked.

Before long, there were two young-looking security guards walking out of a room.

Wanda
Wanda watched and listened to the gunfire coming from the front gate. She was satisfied with the attack and felt like Weiss and Reven would be safe to advance. She had already positioned herself at the top of a nearby hill. She pulled a camouflage cloak that Weiss had given her out of her pack and attached it, before cocking her rifle and taking aiming at the soldiers that were now swarming out of the compound.

Her silenced gun barely made a sound as it picked off a soldier who had spotted Weiss and Reven. She then targeted another who was trying to radio inside for back up. Wanda had a flare of guilt as she always did when she went into battle and killed. She told herself though that this was necessary. These people were working for criminals, they needed to be stopped.

Once her teammates had safely moved out of view, it was time for her and Hannah to be going as well. "Come on Hannah, our turn." She said to her teammate, packing up to cloak and running down the hill toward the garage entrance as well. However, it seemed that the security team was now fully responding to the attack, and had established a perimeter at the garage entrance. They had set up two jeeps with turrets mounted on them and of the 10 or so soldiers that were there two of them had missile launchers.

"Shit, they're waiting for us." Wanda said harshly. She knew there was a risk of this, they were going in last after all. Wanda sent her hawk off to fly to saftey, she didn't want to risk Nose Dive getting hurt. "Alright Hannah looks like we'll have to punch our way through. Are you ready?"

Nightingale

She soon came upon the scene and shrugged at the obvious alien, her sights were only for Jas and she seemed to be unconscious, Rei also noticed that she seemed to be splitting at the legs and flinched. She walked past the group and crouched at Jas's side and took stock of the extent of the injury and sighed glanceing up at her team she sheepishly grinned,
"Yeah guys I don't know about you but I would love it if we could take care of Jas here." She then pulled out a flask and downed a shot while shuddering.

After eating the poor homeless person Dominic sighed and walked out of his recently cleaned room and out onto the darkened streets of Chicago, he glanced back at the club he made and locked the door with a distinct clack of his teeth. He then started walking down the street with his hood pulled up and body hunched, his hearing picked up some fighting in the allyway and sighed,
"Can I have a break now and then? I swear if it's Crips again I'm going to start cannibalizing their corpses." He checked his surroundings and went into the alleyway, grinning. After about five minutes he came upon a savage mugging in progress, he whistled.

At least he attempted to, what came out was a hollow tone that sent chills up the spine and froze the muggers, they turned and saw him. One of the dumber ones started laughing and elbowed one of his friends,
"Hey guys look, a wanna be super hero. How about we show him that we aren't pussies and beat him up." At that a lanky dude charged Dom with a crowbar raised high. Dom on the other hand rolled his eyes and pulled on his headphones turning on some music, the second he heard his music his eyes flashed red and he grinned a savage grin as time slowed down. He targeted the lanky dude's left leg due to some injury he suffered from and to get him out of the fight he would target the dude's midsection.

Soon time resumed and the crowbar came down and Dom batted it to the side and smashed the man's left kneecap splitting the leg in half and with a quick jab sent the man on his back wheezing in pain with the occasional whispered curse. He switched his gaze to tthe other four men,
"So how about you give me some of your 'hard earned' cash and get out of my sight, please don't be stupid I'm really not in the mood to fight some children." One of the men gritted his teeth and shouted,
"Oh yeah well eat lead fucker." At that he produced a glock and fired all the bullets into Dom each one punching through the dead flesh and pining off of dead bones. He continued to stand and chuckled,
"So was that a no? Well I'll just beat you to a pulp anyways just for that." At that he rocketed to the gunman and collapsed his windpipe with a punch and with the others he kicked out their legs and snapped their necks, after a little bit to calm down he looted their bodies and found about 50 dollars and some jewelry.

He ignored the downed lady and picked up the bodies and returned to the club, that is if he didn't hear a camera snap. He turned and saw the lady with her phone out, he sighed and dopped the bodies while sauntering over and squated down in front of her,
"Now I don't mind pictures and all that, but would you please delete that photo? I really don't want to break such a nice phone." He then tilted his head and added to the thought,
"Also you really don't want to see my face it's not pretty." At that the woman deleted the photo and ran. He sighed and picked the bodies up while resuming his course for the club uncaring of his surroundings, for the hunger rages within.

Sylph looked over at Jasmine and grimaced. "Yeah, she's not looking her best. I'd say take her to a hospital, but all the ones nearby are probably stuffed with people from this little meteor storm." She thought for a second, then lit up with an idea. "Ooh! I bet Mr Overseer has some super advanced medical stuff on the Sky Tower! Jasmine can be teleported up there to get some good care while she sleeps, and we don't have to leave her in India or try moving her to another hospital somewhere else. What'ya think of that?"
Yet what force on earth is weaker than the feeble strength of one?

"Probably best if we go to the Tower, Sylph," said Aegis. "Overseer, if there is nothing left to do here in New Delhi, shall we all head up to the Tower? By the way, is there a medical bay up there? Perhaps Jasmine would be more comfortable up there. Or do you think we should bring her to a hospital down here on Earth?" Agent Spider took off his gloves, lied down, and sighed. "Good job up there, Sylph and Tempest. Same goes for the rest of you." Then he sat up and said, "Oh yeah, the clone. How is he?"

In the distance, agents were spying on them, but making sure they weren't seeing. "Time to go," one of them said. "We need to report these findings to White." Then they all packed any gear, got on the helicopters, and headed back to HQ.

The Agency HQ
"Director Clark White," said a UN Council member. "A decision has been made. Due to recent actions of the UN, yourself, and the Agency, we have decided to terminate the Agency. Notify everyone there immediately and turn in your badge."

"I'm afraid I can't do that, Councilwoman," said Director White. "The Agency is still very much needed in this world so we can protect the public from metahumans. I've decided that all of them are threats, not just the villains and aliens, but the supposed good ones too. The public are so hypnotized by their charm and like being saved by superpowered beings that it's become sickening now."

"Director White, you are way out of your boundaries," said the Councilwoman. "These metahumans have come to fight off the evil that has plagued our world. Why would you do that?"

"Because the two that we raised here have betrayed the cause," said White. Then he hung up and turned to his second in command. "Yes, that was the wise decision. And yes, we will make sure that the world is completely safe."

Elfie

After taking down the first opponent i wanted to move on to the next, but something weird was going on here. I don't know what but it was pulling me closer. This is so weird what's so enticing about this. Before i knew it i was staring blindly at the person I just took out. Perhaps I hit him to hard and my conscience is telling me to assist him? But I didn't hit him to hard I know how to do this, besides why should I help this guy? He's an enemy, he was given the chance to get better. And he threw it away and even attacked us, if anything he deserves worse than he got, I'm way to nice for these people... An echo in my head broke my train off thought, it was lance saying my alias.

"Where, what, who, huh? What was I doing, sorry friend Lance, my mind had begun to wander the path off solitude, I don't even recall what it saw on that path, but it has returned when hearing your voice. Also, do you mean the shooty bus? You sometimes say such weird things friend Lance." I smiled and laughed a bit before beginning the act of distraction. I began to kick up small metal objects and hitting them with my sword, using them as harmless, but really annoying projectiles at the enemy.

Xuih was enjoying the game quite a bit. It was challenging enough to where she wanted to keep playing even though there was no tangible reward. A kind of fun that she never got to experience on her homeworld. At least the sound of splintering wood came from behind her, which distracted her just long enough to get blasted by a fireball and dying in the game. The Dragonness spun around, irritated at not only the fact that there was some sort of plant woman brandishing a sword at her after breaking down her host's door just minutes after he left, but also that fact that she had the gall to interrupt her game. "Who are you, and how dare you!" She exclaimed. "If it's a fight you want, creature, I will give you a fight!"

Meanwhile, on the other side of town, Gabe had arrived at the supermarket and was busily shopping away. "Well, she liked the bacon, so here's hoping she'll like beef." Worse came to worst, he ordered takeout and hoped she like that instead. He picked up some other things as well, namely milk, eggs and bread. The most generic shopping list ever made. Not that it mattered. Food was food. And eggs were very versatile. As he was putting the rest of the groceries in his cart he, and several other shoppers noticed a small tremor. "What was that?" He thought for a moment before shrugging it off as a happenstance. Then it happened again, but noticeably harder. "Oh. Great. Just what I needed. Pleeeeeaaaase don't be something that I have to deal with." Gabriel prayed silently. To no avail.

As if on cue, a very ugly monstrosity smashed right through the roof. "God. Fucking Dammit. I hate this city."
