Yes, there are far less active characters than there are apped characters. Such is the fate of most roleplays.

As for how many characters, 85.

We do have at least one person here who's notorious for making a lot of characters.

Or at least I know Charmera as the "many characters"-dude :p

Yeah he tends to make a bunch.

To be entirely honest though the lot of us Co-OPs are guilty of that, even if Charm's still ahead with 7 characters. >.>

Character Application

Name: Toxate

Superhero Name: N/A

Age: As old as the Universe

Gender: N/A; more on the masculine side

Race/Species: Unknown

Appearance:
Image
More a of black and white color scheme for the armour.

Personality: Merciless, heartless; more and more irrational the hungrier he gets; confident in his abilities

Biography: Much like Galactus from Marvel, Toxate was created at the beginning of the Universe and is as old as it. He was created by an unknown force at the beginning, with the force hoping Toxate will be help control civilizations that evolve later in the universe. This proved to be inaccurate as the force later died off before Toxate came into full being. Upon waking up and a full being several billions of years later, the being known as Toxate was hungry and destroyed and ate a nearby star system, which is the first of many in his path.

Over the years, Toxate encountered several civilizations that, of course, were all destroyed by him when he gobbled up their stars and planets. Several aliens had offered him to be his Herald. He accepted one person every once in a while. There was one that rebelled against him, and eventually weakened him to the point of near death. This caused the former Herald to die. As a result, Toxate barely managed to eat the planet he hailed from, and began hibernating to regain his strength. He woke up as recent as the first humans and began feasting on planets and solar systems once again.

Powers/Abilities:
  • Feeds on and destroys whole solar systems
  • Cosmic energy -- Toxate rarely uses the energy, as he grants a lifeform of his choosing these powers and to become his Herald.
  • Poison Manipulation -- If he ever walks on a planet, anyone and anything five miles around him gets poisoned
  • Able to copy someone's powers -- He chooses not to do this, as he sees there is no point to it. He did it once to test it, and he gained poison based abilities. Since then, Toxate does not use it.

Weaknesses
  • Toxate must feed on planets, stars, etc to sustain himself. Otherwise, he is weakened the hungrier he gets.
  • Must wear armor to help regulate his internal energy.
  • If a Herald is chosen, that Herald has a chance to rebel against him.

Equipment: Armour that helps regulate his internal energy; a ship known as the Neves

Likes: Feeding on planets
Dislikes: Being hungry, anyone who stands in his way of feeding
Theme Song:

Additional information: Although not an abstract, non-corporeal being, Toxate is a living force of nature. His true form cannot be perceived by most beings; each species sees Toxate in a form they can comprehend, similar to their race or a deity of their religion.

If by update you mean a summary of what has happened, there's one right in the first post of the previous page.

If you read it and have any specific questions, though, feel free to ask.

I'd rather we have a little break of major arcs to allow for individual characters. But that can be the next one.

As I've said, personal development and interaction. Take another look at your character and establish some goals for your character, perhaps look at the character list again and personally contact someone to interact with you. If we have constant invasions or big arcs, we'll all get burned out, which is why I want to allow you fellas to do your own thing for a while.

Ah, ok...is the Nazi guy still here?

He's not here for a week now.

One of mine kind of stuck with him at the moment, but in the mean time I'm going to proceed with the story in Chicago and shelving my old Not!Batman character.

And into making another.

Well, which one of these individuals would like interaction, because Shino's location is very vague, I can make her appear just about anywhere.

Third post in a row. :p

There is an event in Chicago, where a hacker (sort of one) hack through almost all of the bank accounts apparently, and took all the money to that hacker's account.

There's Esternial, IPA (I think he's there) and my character, which will try to get himself be involved in the story.

Supporting character. Not planning on using him right now or too much at all. Kind of a lore entry, mainly, and a possible wildcard we can draw for plot purposes.

Character Application

Name: Jacob

Superhero Name: Man of the Mist, The Faceless Man, The Face Stealer, Evil incarnate
Age: N/A

Gender: N/A
Race/Species: ?

Appearance: Jacob has many faces, yet at the same time has none to really call his own. While he does have a true form, it is so utterly abstract that other beings are unable to comprehend it. Even his true name instill madness. Because of this, Jacob possess several "faces" that he acquired from other creatures, allowing him to walk among them and conduct his business.

[image] is his preferred face to wear when interacting with humans or other beings that know what a 'human' is. The man it belonged to tried to cheat him. So, Jacob took his face.

Personality: The Man of the Mist is seemingly a polite person, though perhaps he can be somewhat of a dick. He holds little respect for sentient life and often behaves rather arrogantly. Despite his calm and cocky demeanor, Jacob is known to have a short fuse at times, particularly when people try to trick him or when they behave overly disrespectful. When he does find himself angered or even slightly irritated, he often overreacts.

Interrupting him one time too many may result in certain death.

Biography: Jacob was not born in any conventional sense. He was brought into being one day, a day even Jacob struggles to recall. A shapeless being, Jacob went by his real name during the early days, but changed both his name and appearance once he came into contact with other life forms.

From the dawn of mankind, Jacob has had an invested interest in these intelligent creatures. Mankind was weak, but weakness did not imply a lack of worth. There was one thing humans had that he lacked, a purity that they themselves could not see. It shone brighter than any star. More precious than any amount of gold or gems. The human soul was the most precious thing mankind possessed, yet they had little knowledge of its true value. It was this that Jacob sought to exploit.

As he began to walk among mankind, Jacob restrained his power to contain his form. From that day forward he approached the weak-willed and downtrodden, offering them that which the wanted most in exchange for that which they valued less. Throughout history he filled his satchel with mankind's souls: vast repositories of untapped power, miniature stars that he could hold in the palm of his hand.

Jacob acquired new faces and walked new paths in life as mankind forged its path through time. From the perspective of the people he helped, he was a cruel entity that punished them for their greed or envy. People called him "Evil Incarnate" or referred to him as satan. It bothered Jacob none what humans called him or how they cursed his name.

One day, however, Jacob forged a contract with a particularly savvy human being. Arrogant as he was, Jacob underestimated the man. It was this day that Jacob was taught an important lesson: Humans are smarter than they look. It was also from this day forward that Jacob found himself unable to leave his corporeal form or even destroy it. At first he was overcome with rage and, along with his soul, took the face of the man that bested him as his own. Once his anger settled, he felt a strange respect towards the man, and from that day forward wore that face as a homage to mankind's ingenuity.

Powers/Abilities:
  • "Omnipotence": While Jacob often professes himself to be capable of doing anything he pleases, in his corporeal form this is not the case. For instance, Jacob could theoretically create a vast wealth of gold whenever he pleases, but in his human form he can only do so when it is willed by a second party, through a contract. Presumably, if he were to shed his corporeal form, he would be freed from this limitation.
  • Space-Time Manipulation: Despite most of his power being locked away, Jacob still has some control over time and space. Concretely, this allows him to stop time completely by snapping his fingers and teleport willy nilly. He can also create wormholes to one particularly dark dimension - it's where he goes to relax.
  • Telepathy: Yes, Jacob is a telepath, and a powerful one at that. He often speaks to the weak-minded to break their will and push them towards desperate actions. Jacob can sense the presence of a desperate soul in need of help, kinda like how a shark has senses specifically attuned to detecting blood in the water.

Weaknesses
  • Beaten at his own game: Jacob's Omnipotence is theoretically what the term implies, but one particularly smart human managed to turn the tables on him. After a particular game of his gone wrong, he's been forced to be the friend of two obnoxious kids tethered to his corporeal form, restricting his abilities. The bindings that contain him are visible as marks on Jacob's torso, an intricate pattern seemingly carved in with a blade.
  • Immortality: Now hold up, I know what you're thinking, and I'd like you to stop daydreaming about porn and focus for a second. "Dying" would free Jacob from his corporeal form, so if it were actually possible then he'd be free a long time ago. Unfortunately nothing has worked so far. When damaged too much his body simply turns to sand and reassembles into a fully-functional meatsuit.

Equipment: A cornucopia in whisky bottle form. Basically no mater how much he drinks from it, not a single drop will have vanished from the bottle.

Likes: (Optional, though it would be nice if you did it)
Dislikes: (Also optional)
Theme Song: (Optional)

Additional information:
Jacob can be summoned through different means. Most effective is to draw the appropriate markings on any random crossroads. Often he just comes to you if you're desperate enough, though.

RP Sample: (A link to a specific post is fine. If this is your first RP, it's ok, just put N/A here and focus on your bio to display your writing ability. Thanks!)

He (or rather, "it") is a force of nature already forced to walk in a meatsuit. I doubt his ego could bear having to play the lackey of some self-entitled brat.

Doesn't really take any sides, either. Might be able to make an arrangement with him, but he's an independent contractor.

It's also why he's not a character I intend to RP with consistently. He jumps in when it suits him. Having him hang around several specific insignificant little ants would be atypical of him. The world's a big place and there are plenty of people that he can forge a contract with.

So his omnipitence is currently a form of contract Bestowal?
Also how long has he been trapped in his corporeal form?

He (or rather, "it") is a force of nature already forced to walk in a meatsuit. I doubt his ego could bear having to play the lackey of some self-entitled brat.

Fair enough. Probably can work out some kind of deal, if any.

Third post in a row. :p

There is an event in Chicago, where a hacker (sort of one) hack through almost all of the bank accounts apparently, and took all the money to that hacker's account.

There's Esternial, IPA (I think he's there) and my character, which will try to get himself be involved in the story.

August is current making his way away from the Federal Reserve bank. He'll take a light dose of suppressant in my next post which will make him much harder to find (unnatural darkness will vanish, etc.) until his next hit so if you want to make contact quickly now would be the time to run into him.

Long enough for it to get on his nerves.

Let's go with roughly 1000 years.
