Firstly the majority of Americans ARE insured, and its the majority that carry America. The Republicans don't want to help cut cost, because they don't feel that someone else should be paying for your healthcare. Its not my job to pay for your healthcare and you have no right to steal money from me or any other American to pay for your health insurance. I feel bad that your mother is uninsured, but she is not my responsibility.
It's this society job to help each other because if the poor and mid class go down the whole economy will collaspse and don't tell me that majority maybe insured but most of them have to pay the majortity of the bill cause the greedy companies use the money we give for vacations and treatments at the spa not to pay off someones helth expenses like they should.
And politicians are even worse. The Social Security Administation spent $700,000 on a party. These people are supposed to be PUBLIC SERVANTS. And they go party at the taxpayers expense. In a middle of an economic depression. When unemployement is almost at a double digit rate. And counting the underemployed, and people who stopped looking the unemployment level is 21%. So 1 out of 5 people are out of work, and politicians are partying.
So ceos suck but the ceos are supposed to provide healthcare for us and not to go party in vegas. most of the time poliicans go to places and supposely talk about policies and issues.

*sigh*

I'm not wading through the ideological bickering, so I'll just ask: Has anyone even tried to tie the actual language of the bill to the absurd allegations made in the OP and IBD editorial?

See, e.g., viewtopic.php?p=254703#p254703; viewtopic.php?p=254937#p254937

A three-day conference attended by 700 officials at about $1,000 each is hardly an extravagant party. Nice try.

We need to start caring about the lower and middle class citizens instead of the rich folk by start regulating the economy and welfare. Plus getting universal healthcare through or regulate the private companies

yes we do. letting the insurance companies do business on a denial-of-benefits model is insane. if they cant run an honest business, they need to be eliminated.

I never said extravagant. I said not necessary. We are in the middle of an economic depression. That expense not justifiable.

Arguable. Given the death threats against them and the difficulty of running a major agency amongst the economic crisis, perhaps the meeting was justifiable.

Regardless, it is the obvious evidence of out-of-control politicians you claimed it to be.

Firstly stop saying middle class like you're talking about the middle class, you're not talking about them alright. Welfare should be minimized as much as possible.

Ignoring that this wasn't addressed at me...

:palm: First off, it's not stealing if it's legal (see 16th amendment).

Secondly, how else is the gov't supposed to fund itself without taxes.

Thirdly, if taxes are here to stay, shouldn't thay fall more on those who can most afford it?

Perhaps government should do like they do with utilities and make health care a natural monopoly. Or subsidise it for those who are unable to pay.
