My Opinion:
No, I believe that if christianity was never created the world would be a better place. We would not have the 1,000 years of science oppression, we woundnt have the countless religious wars. The middle east would be a peaceful area and we would not have people around the world fight for their rights such as the gay rights movement.

Numerous Christians have dedicated their lives to science and improving the lives of others and in quite a few cases, propose great scientific theories that we use today, such as the Big Bang Theory which was proposed by a Catholic priest. Most churches embrace science and believe that believing in science is integral to religious beliefs and that these don't conflict. They seek to promote science not to oppress it.

They oppressed science in the past causing us to be 1,000 years less advanced then we should be

If all our problems are solved, we'll find new ones to replace them. If we can't find new ones, we'll make new ones.
