Halfpipe is a good watch. The womens Luge was brilliant too.
Caught some of slope-style skiing earlier which looked painful. The conditions of the snow today have been very questionable, loads of problems with the halfpipe and the slope-style.

It's been and gone. Was one of the first Hockey matches I have watched all the way through and did slightly enjoy it. Not sure I'll be watching anymore though, depends what matches clash with other sports.

Regarding Plyushenko & Russian criticism:

As expected, some "glorious" members of the to so called "unbiased" press are now presenting the criticism as Russians looking to get Plyushenko for daring to withdraw. Allow me to explain what happened:

Although Kovtun took first in the Russian Nationals, the Russian Ice Skating Federation opted to have Plyushenko compete. In fact, most of the criticism is directed towards the bureacrats of the Russian Ice Skating Federation responsible for men's singles, i.e. "you only had one spot, and then you nominated someone with a history of back problems!"

Nevertheless, both Kovtun and Plyushenko went to the Olympics. Plyushenko did a great job in the Team Competition, but we didn't need his superb skating to win it. Yes, he helped, and we're thankful, but we won by 10 points, so it's not like any single skater would've made a difference. And all this time, Kovtun was ready to replace him.

After the Team Event, Plyushenko started to experience back problems. That's when he should've withdrawn, and let Kovtun take his place. His late withdrawal prevented Kovtun from skating. That's the REAL issue. Russia is currently facing problems of athletes feeling. We had 4 Russians win the Gold Medals, and only 2 Gold Medals for team Russia. Win or lose, if Kovtun was going to skate, he'd stay with Russia, and win a Medal for us at the next Olympics. Now, he could join another ice skating federation, who'd take him with open arms, and let him skate. That's why we're pissed off, not because Plyushenko's not a robot.

Seemed an odd decision not to award the goal. Surely if a keeper smashes/moves the post before every shot it's just as good and effective as actually stopping the shot, and it'd be impossible to score a goal. Though I know hardly anything about Ice Hockey.

Unsurprisingly, the IIHF thought of that:

1. A player or goalkeeper who deliberately displaces a goal frame from its normal position shall be assessed a: Minor penalty
2. If it happens during the last two minutes of the game, or at any time in overtime, by a defending player or goalkeeper in his defending zone the Referee shall award to the non-offending team a: Penalty Shot
3. If a player or goalkeeper deliberately displaces a goal frame from its normal position when an opponent is in control of the puck with no opposition between him and the goalkeeper, and with a reasonable opportunity to score, the Referee shall award to the non-offending team a: Penalty Shot
4. If, when a goalkeeper has been removed from the ice, a player of his team displaces the goal frame from its normal position when an opponent is in control of the puck with no opposition between him and the goal, the Referee shall award to the non offending team a: Goal
5. If at any time during the course of the penalty Shot (which begins when the Referee blows the whistle for the player to start the shot) the goalkeeper deliberately moves or dislodges the goal net, the Referee shall award to the non-offending team a: Goal

None of that criticism is coming from me, Plyushenko is probably the best male skater alive today. Anything to get him on ice.

2. Lose, Kovtun isn't Plushenko and didn't have a hope of beating Hanyu.
