OOC: I'm going to discontinue my anthem line for now. I have received no guesses on my past two RPs, and only one each on the two before that. I'm disappointed it hasn't worked out, but it's time to move on. Thanks to those who guessed in the early stages.

"There are no reasons you can stop. There are no reasons you can quit."

Tumo Makanopalani awoke with a start. He felt his grandfather's voice pulsing through him, a conviction so deep. He was six when Aluno'ato died, but he could still remember the lap on which he sat on visits. The man, his father said, never smiled much, except when Tumo came. He was a veteran of the Samoan wars, fighting in the battle of Alonamo. Wizened with age, he was starting to get feeble when Tumo came around, but still vigorous in his heart.

"You must fight. Nuam'ro ponei una kai. Tumo. Fight."

It was a close one for Tumo the previous day. Seemingly normal, scoring twice against Westros, taking the conference after the game. Had dinner with his brother. There as something off, though. Originally, he thought it was the upcoming game against TBI. There was always something daunting about facing a good team; no doubt he had felt similar before facing Arch and ASMV last Cup. But the feeling persisted throughout the night. He went to sleep uneasy about tomorrow.

"Tumo. Fight."

No reason to fear, right? No reason to doubt, right? But there was a reason. Tumo didn't know why, or what it was. Just uneasiness over his performance and life, in general. He would have to see what the next match brought before he determined what he felt. His grandfather had helped, but no words of wisdom could silence his fire inside.
"For the glory of our people, we govern our nation freely. For the glory of Polynesia, we help and strengthen our friends. For the glory of the earth, we do not destroy what it has bestowed upon us."

New Coach Worse Than Joe
Image

Now with the 5th loss against Iturributa, Chunnan is now heading in a downwards spiral. Chunnan is the only team in the group with no wins or ties. Not only that, but they lost 3-0, a usual but terrible score for Chunnan. Players report to be, "not used to Richard's new tactics." Currently, Richard's does not want to talk to the press and does not have a social media. Along with that, there have been more death threats to team captain Yoseph Goasla. At first, the death threats went to the old coach Joe Lanson, who died just recently after being shot. He made a terrible mistake of ignoring the threats, and now targets Yoseph.

Yoseph Goasla, team captain, says on his Flitter,"I will not listen to these people. I hope these threats do not effect my play on the field, even though it has the past 5 games..." Source -Flitter @YosephGoasla

Chunnan, with now little to know hope of making the world cup, wants to concentrate on ending on a strong note. Currently, the players want to attempt to ruin other countries chances since it's too late. Of course, they can't do that if they haven't even scored a goal except for one last match against Gaveo. If Chunnan continues to play like this, there might as well not be a team.

ROYALSOLDIERS - It was a beautiful day for a game here in Royalsoldiers, yesterday. The sun was shining, the grass on the field was green, and there were no clouds in sight. Although I got more than a few odd looks from the locals, I’m sure they were just a bit surprised to see a walking pony in their country. After all, it’s not every day your little daughter’s dream comes true.

Not to many of us made the long flight all the way to Royalsoldiers, but those that did certainly enjoyed the match. I’m not so sure that the natives felt that way, but I hope they had a wonderful time after the Equestrian States won their game 3-0. After several consecutive games where the Ponies lost a few important players, we didn’t have a single starter get hurt! Well, Candace Rivers hobbled off the field with a slight grimace on her face in the 13th minute, but I’m sure she’ll be back and kicking before you know it!

Before the game, I ran into an older unicorn stallion who looked a little bit upset. I told him to turn that frown upside down and gave him a nice little Equestrian flag he could wave during the game. Being festive is always one of the more fun parts of the experience, and I’d recommend it to anypony who hasn’t tried it yet.

Anyways, the game started splendidly for the Ponies. Lightning Bolt and Quick Bolt seem to have made the adjustment to their starting roles pretty quickly, and it’s always nice to see two siblings playing together on the field. A shame that Rapid Dash wasn’t able to play again, otherwise we could have had two sibling pairs on the field at once! That could’ve been exciting!

But Rainbow Blitz was the star of the show yesterday, putting on his best performance yet while dominating on the offense. Sure the Royish (a pretty nice name, in my opinion) fans were a bit upset by his goal in the last 15 minutes or so of the first half, but I’m sure they appreciated seeing some quality hoofball action from the Ponies. It was a beautiful shot too, arcing splendidly and gracefully through the pleasant air and into the white netting.

At halftime, I went ahead and tried some of the local foods even though I wasn’t sure what they were. I stuck to vegetarian things, of course, but the fruits were still quite nice. After taking my seat, I saw that unicorn again, mumbling something I couldn’t quite understand. He sounded a bit angry and he was heading towards the exit, but I still wished him a nice day anyways.

When the shrill whistle blew again, the Ponies went charging up the field. It was a sight to behold, with the manes of the players flapping about in the breeze created by their running. Rainbow Blitz came through again, blasting one right into the corner of the goal only seven minutes into the half. By that time, more than a few of the local fans sitting near me were looking a little angry with their team, but I told them to cheer up. Their team isn’t too bad, and they look like they could be great with a bit more practice. For whatever reason, this didn’t seem to improve their moods, so I left them alone for the rest of the game.

The match went on for a while longer, and the two teams played hard. But fortunately, the Ponies seemed to have the edge as the clock ticked closer and closer to the final minutes. When the Royish players were looking a bit tired, the Equestrians just kept on plowing ahead with the ball. Fire Dash came close to scoring a couple times, but none of his shots found their target unobstructed. Finally, one went bouncing off the crossbar right into the front hooves of Rainbow Blitz. The young, light blue pegasus ripped it by the Royish keeper for his third goal of the game. A hat trick for the youngest player on the team!

It wasn’t long after that when the last whistle blew a few times and the game came to a close. Overall, I enjoyed the match. Royalsoldiers wasn’t too bad of a host country, and I wouldn’t mind visiting again, although I don’t know if I’d go out of my way to vacation there. A few of my friends and I went to a local restaurant afterwards, got something quick to eat, and then headed back over to the airport.

I look forward to seeing you all next week when the Ponies play in Everfree. The folks there always know how to celebrate a game properly, and I hope the Argo Islanders manage to enjoy themselves too. A bit of good news on the team front: we might get Rapid Dash back for the game against Yesopalitha! Who knows? Maybe with another good forward playing, the Ponies could pull off an upset and take the group lead in a couple weeks!

You thought I was going to have Downtrodden Crankyface go crazy with my win against Royalsoldiers, didn’t you? Don’t worry; he’ll be back soon enough, just throwing something a bit different out there.

Lalo Limahina didn't know how lucky they were.

Barely five minutes into the match and Angel Capobianco remembered with a jolt that he had forgotten to wind his leg before the match. Normally he was able to find ten minutes to hide away in secret and slot the key into his knee and wind the joint that was hidden under his skin. But no, not this time. So caught up had he been with the hype around him that he'd spent too long giving interviews for the press and all the time had been used up.

Consequently, ten minutes into the match he'd had a shot on goal that had pinged badly. Fortunately, he'd spooned it in such a way that it proved a marvellous assist for Finiguerra, who slotted home with aplomb to put la Renaissance into the lead.

Of course, five minutes after that and he'd had to go down with what could only be described as the deadest of dead legs, much to the confusion of the medical staff.

Silently cursing his luck as he watched his replacement Delvecchio rifle home the cross from Polanco, scoring the away side's second goal to put them beyond reach of the home side, Angel resolved to not make the same mistake again. After all, it was Vilita next, and he'd need to be extra tightly wound to score in that one...

Gyats-ow

By Otis Birmingham

In a rather expected result, Gyatso-kai recorded a fairly comfortable over the Falcons in Gyatso-kai. After the strong Kiryu-shi side was held to a draw in their own stadium by the Avatarians, we didn't go into this match with very high hopes. It was an entertaining and high-scoring match, but the Falcons were always playing catch-up and were never really quite “in” it. The troubles started when Wakahisa Hikaru took a pot shot in the fifteenth minute from about a third of the pitch away from the goal; it was reasonably on-target and had some “umph” behind it. Actually a little bit too much; it banged off the top of the crossbar beyond Somer Lann's reach. Kad’e Tay’haai streaked into the box and blazed a header into the corner.

“It's just a bad fall of the cards,” commented extremely cliché defender Joaquin Pelletier.

Wakahisa Hikaru compounded on the Avatarian lead when he lured Pelletier into an overzealous tackle inside the box. Lann guessed right, he went left.

“I'll take the blame for that one,” Pelletier admitted later.

Chester Highfield was able to cut the deficit in half with a well-place muscle kick on the edge of the box, cutting past three pairs of legs and a set of hands to get the Falcons on the board. Even at just the fortieth minute, observers could tell it was already a case of too little, too late. Pre Kryse proved that when, not three minutes later, he cleaned up a rebound from a Wakahisa shot to put the Avatarians up 3-1. Tay'haai put the game away with a spirited effort, managing a tremendous leap to beat the noticibly taller Boris Halth to Kryse's corner. The ball seemed to bounce harmlessly straight into the ground, but Tay'haai somehow managed to put in a little mini-kick as he landed to roll the ball over the line before Lann could make it to that side of the goal.

Jack Laughton had this to say about the Falcons' consolation goal: “That was a beauty from Dan Pacés at the end, though. It didn't matter much in this game, but having that kind of pop off the bench late will be really important going forward.” Said beauty was a curving cross that cut surprisingly quickly, catching Bai'a Kita on the wrong foot.

Even with the loss, the Falcons are still in third place in Group 8. Torisakia's surprsing win over High Heels propels them to fourth at keeps the latter down to a disappointing sixth; meanwhile, Backyard Sports was busy with their own upset, toppling Conclepsia at the Playground. Kiryu-shi, along with the Avatarians, now lord a five-point lead on us, but their form seems to be slipping. Vivedin came far too close to forcing a draw; perhaps that, combined with the decent fight the Falcons gave the top seeds, mean we have a chance to knock Kiryu-shi down a peg.

Lonngeylin, Vilita

Much like what had occured prior to the crucial match against Farfadillis, a match which the Jungle Cats came out victorious thanks to the goalscoring exploits of the one player the Farf players in the V-League would not have been familiar with, Vilitan head coach Calaesa Mitaroka went to communicating with the coaches and teammates of the three Acquan players who called the V-League home.

First up was Willie Fenn. The Colonial Sile manager was only going to be moderately familiar with Pedro Uguccione, the experienced Acquan defender who joined Colonial at the start of the 35th V-League season, but any information he could get would be key to ensuring that Jungle Cat strikers could pierce the Ossidiacqua defense in what had become a top of the table clash.

Mitaroka would not overlook the input of Kionao Turori Locals manager Lai Otieno. Though only recently appointed manager in Kionao, Otieno would have had plenty of experience with Borromeo, captain of the Stellar Division side and former UICA Series 'B' Champions Cup winners. Borromeo has spent his entire career in Kionao.

The most valued input, however, would come from Actalia Mermaioada. The one-time wunderkid who let their love of swimming get in the way of their footballing career during the World Cup 57 Cup of Harmony had experienced a bit of a resurgence in recent seasons since joining the Turoki Tide roster, including a pair of Stellar Division titles. In that time frame Mermaioada played alongside both Uguccione and one of the newest Ossidiacqua stars, left back Cassiano Polanco. Polanco's inclusion in Ossidiacqua's World Cup 63 roster immediately caught the attention of management at the Tide and found the player to be the perfect replacement for a departing Uguccione during Season 35. No player in the league was as familiar with Polanco as Mermaioada. The lone true striker on the Turoki Tide roster, Mermaioada was repeatedly paired with both Polanco and Vilita's Uajiala Pulkki during daily training sessions in Turoki and would know the ins and outs of the Acquan defenders first steps and tendancy's. It was perhaps this inside knowledge that would be most useful to Mitaroka who was increasingly aware that he may be unable to rely on Kristofer Kilpter the same way he was able to against Farfadillis.

Kilpter, who scored both goals against the Farf side, left the V-League after failing to win silverware at Cednia Beach, moving to the Polar Islandstates for a rejuvenated league and UICA career. Unfortunately for Mitaroka, many Acquan players followed the same path playing in the Polarian leagues and Kilpter's scouting report would be readily available for Yoann Vega and the Ossidiacqua management team.

As it stands, Mitaroka was unlikely to have a 'secret weapon' to use against la Renaissance, but could tap into the attacking prowess of both Mermaioada and Kilpter as players familiar with their Acquan opposition playing both with and against them on a week-in, week-out basis on a domestic level.

Emanuel shifted in his seat and tried to get comfortable. “So, what brings you to this backwards little country? And what's your name, for that matter?”

“My name's Darrin Melau, and I'm a salesman.” He reached for the briefcase by his feet, pulled it to his lap and popped it open. “Handheld vacuums. My boss thought that any modern convenience would sell like hotcakes in Ossidiacqua, so here I am.”

“...but don't those need electricity to work? They're a little short on that here.”

Darrin pried open the bottom panel of his example vacuum to reveal a large battery, snugly tucked into the device. “It's completely battery powered—and the replaceable batteries, not the rechargeable ones—so I just tell the prospective client that it'll run forever. By the time the battery dies, I'll be long gone.”

The sea rushed by at high speed as the train rattled along the coast. There were even a few dolphins trying to race the train, having a jolly good time until they realized the train had the inside of the corner, at which point they left to complain to the undersea Olympic committee alter the start positions of races so that those who start on the outside lanes start further up. Or at least that's the scene Emanuel played out in his head. It helped kill the time. “A good old-fashioned con-man. I haven't seen your type since I was a little kid.”

“With good reason.” Sighing, he put the vacuum away and shut the case. “Business isn't exactly booming. Most Acquans can't afford it, those who can barely afford it don't trust technology and/or don't trust foreigners, and those who trust both and can afford it are rich and have actual vacuums already. Steam-powered ones, if that somehow makes sense, but they still work and reduce my figures.”

“That's rough. Well, I think this is my stop.” The buildings on either side of the tracks had gradually pressed intimidatingly close, and a great white curved wall of marble was visible a few blocks to the east. “I'm afraid all I can offer you is my well-wished on your sales route.”

“Your company has been gift enough. You need a little civilized contact when you spend as much time here as I do. Farewell, sir.” Darrin gave a genuine smile before returning to the year-old Charmunnry magazine he had been perusing.

As Emanuel left the station, he heard a faint cry of “Where's my wallet?!” He whistled and made sure he had all his coin safely stored. Now it's time to find that flamboyant Player In a Manager's Position.

Turns out, he operated right in that area. Emanuel barely had to walk anywhere to find a bright orange fur coat sticking out like a sore thumb. Where do you even get fur in that shade of orange? Have they invented dyes here? He walked up and tapped the P.I.M.P. on the shoulder. "Hello? Are you Mr..." shit, I never actually asked for his name.

Nevertheless, the other man spun around with a wide smile on his face. "Why yes, I am Mee-stair Amor. Are you feeling lonely, signor?"

Emanuel chuckled, loosening his collar with one hand to feign nervousness while loosening his dagger with the other. "I was only looking for some... information, on your services. Consider me an interested observer."

"Oh, you will not be able to stay on the outside for long! Let me take you to my office, where we can better see what I have to offer." After some meandering through streets as packed as possible while still retaining the ability to move (sorta) and alleyways more treacherous to walk than cliff faces, they came upon possibly the only house in the ancient district of Ares that stood with breathing room all around it. "I bought the neighboring buildings and had them knocked down, if you were wondering."

Just after the door swung shut behind them and Emanuel noticed the room was empty, the dagger jumped from its sheath and to the P.I.M.P.'s neck, while his left arm crossed the chest to keep the target in place. "Sayonara, bastard."

"I don't think so!" That P.I.M.P. was slippery. A twist and wrench of his upper body was all he needed to be across the room, grabbing his own dagger from behind the desk. He waved it around fancy-like and gave Emanuel a cold sneer. "We gonna get at it like Kelly Sporadic."

(A fans dream land)
Well this had to happen sooner or latter though we must wish that it was per-latter than sooner, but hey at lest it twas a small one to nothing score and not something much bigger. With a beautiful 3-2-1 start to the qualifying round for the sixty-third world cup now shattered we shall ask what must lay ahead of us from here, before the half way mark we have yet to play Milchama was is ranked thirteen, oh dear we must wish hard not to be blown out, then we have yet number fifty eight Thatius which we must fell good at against playing, but we must still wonder, then lastly Patricant whom we have no idea where they are ranked.

But why we always start off very good every qualifying round then come the last two thirds of the round and each time we fall apart, why yes we haven't had a losing record now during qualifying for the past two! Which yes is some what amazing but hey who knows, what the future may be hold for us...no we know what the future must behold for us...if we continue to get better we know very well that our out look is great that the sun shall shine down upon our faces and that we'll step out of the dark and into the light...the light of course as everyone knows is the world cup...YES...that is it! Finally after decades of failing and failing to do anything great some day we shall step into that light and we'll be considered relevant! YES! Oh such a joy that it'll be, West Guiana players walking onto the field with their fans screaming at the top of their lungs awaiting till their team plays in their first ever World Cup match! Oh such joy that shall be! They'll come home heroes and treated as such no matter how bad they do the real victory was getting that far!

But yea thou shalt we get that far? Thou we must gettith to it first and that path is the danger, we mustn't get cocky and thinkith our selves better for thou shalt be the end our our hopes.
-----------------------------------------------
A loss is a loss, plus two Red Cards
Well, now we knew this would happen, but hey it wasn't all that bad,...well that is unless your Coach Hernandez who at this hour must be having a headache, but we'll get to that latter.

It was packed River Field right along the St. Johns Stadium, matter of fact officials had to place two jumbo trons outside the stadium in the parking lot for the overflow which numbered around 5,000. The high was vibrant and both sides knew that much was on the line for the moment who ever wins would for the time being be in that ever so important number two spot in the group, but with twelve matches left that spot meant nothing for the time, but both sides know right now this match may mean who'll go home at the end.

The game kicked off at three pm local time and it was sunny, but as with a Gemsbrook winter it was cold, at the start the temperature was 28 degrees with a windchill of 23. Along the sidelines those who weren't playing were bundled up and freezing. It didn't get any better as by half time with the score still zero-zero it started to sun, it this wasn't any of that fluffy stuff, the ground started to get buried under heavy wet slippery snow. The game which up until this point was close and "heavy hitting" didn't get any better with the help of the snow.

At the seventy-seventh minute hell broke loose, when Tikhon Voronin of Mytannion and Juan Sanchez of West Guiana whom at this point been at each others throats, some one said something to the other, because it was only seconds latter both were throwing punches at each other. The official tried to break it up only to be punched in the nose by Voronin which it started to bleed a lot, at this point everyone was on the filed trying to break up the two and by the time the two were broken up both were bloody Sanchez looking as if he got the worst of the brunt. As if you'd imagine both were given red cards, fans from both sides were cheering and booing each other. While the cameras were busy pointing towards the action on the field, several fights did break out in the stands with riot police coming in firing tear gas canisters to break it up. About 30 to 60 people were arrested.

The brawls had gotten so bad that the officials singled for stoppage time, and the fans were told to leave the stadium to which after about an hour latter the game had resumed now playing in front of an empty stadium and about three inches of wet snow on the ground. At the eighty-eighth minute Jakub Novotny of Mytannion scored the lonesome goal in this hectic match which I think both sides were happy that was finally over with.

After the game Juan Sanchez was asked what happened and he declined to talk, however though Coach Hernandez wasn't so lucky, all he said was that he'd very disappointed in what happened and how the fan behaved also. He refused to comment if Sanchez would start any games for the remained of the qualifying round, he just said that is up to the West Guiana Federation of Soccer to attend to.

Well that was an exciting game. Five goals in all and the Fire Ants of Antoletia continue on their hot streak knocking of a team from Bregnoviniaia they lost two four straight times when they first appeared on the international scene way back in the dark ages. There was a brilliant display of attacking by the Fire Ants witch ultimately led to a bad batch of defense from the Fire Ants at times, the Fire Ants of course are not famous for their defending capabilities. The fire Ants turned it around after a big loss to Bongo Johnson, and now sit just behind Chenkorya in third place a point between themselves and the Chenkoryans, and everyone is well behind pacesetters Pasarga who are well on their way to easily advancing to the world cup once again.

In what was a brilliant offensive minded game the first goal came down 1-0, as substitute Hannibal put in the first ball to tie it, they would again tie it 20 minutes after the half when the second substitute Gabriel Mohammed pushed a wayward goalie punch into the back of the net tying the game once again. The Ants would win it all when the third substitute Raphael smartly took his first ever goal winning the game in the 88th minute. The young man from Popici has managed to fire up the team in his three appearances and really is getting the fans cheering in a way that the Fire Ants have not seen in a good long while.

Qazox' struggles continue.

After 6 games, the Qazox Eagles record is 2-3-1 after the teams' 3-1 loss at Valladares. The loss drops Qazox into 6th place in the group. While it is Qazox' first defeat of this campaign, they are behind 3 teams that have two losses each. While there are still 12 games left in the schedule, to be in sixth place at the 1/3rd point is not where most of the fans and most likely the team expected to be. Rumors are that Thomas Carpenter's job is in jeopardy if Qazox does not turn this around soon.

As for tonight's game, Valladares dominated the match from the get go, as Jean-Pierre de Roux scored 7 minutes into the match sending the sellout croaw at National Stadium into a roaring frenzy. The match got worse for Qazox as both Quentin Rashaad and Brooke Chen left the match in the 1st half with undisclosed injuries. Valladares took advantage of the inexperience of Alberto Esperanza and Gerry Hill, consistently trapping the duo along the baseline or sideline whenever either touched the ball. Renato's gaol in the 40th minute made it 2-0 host-side and they ended the night with Jefferson McAllister's goal in the 72nd minute. Qazox' lone goal came from Juila McDaniels in the 60th minute.

Up next Qazox seeks to get back on track against 4-0-2 Svengarda, one of the 5 teams ahead of Qazox at this point. If Qazox loses this match, I will expect that Carpenter will no longer have a job.

The Silaran Evening Telegraph

From Hardship, Victory for Chevaliers

The air was thick with excitment in Royal Stadium where the Chevaliers, Silar's national football team, was to play their first match against Free South Califas, the second ranked team in Silar qualifying group for the World Cup. A predominately Silaran audience cheered the Chevaliers out onto the field, The Royal standard, which has become a symbol of the Silaran team due to the efforts of a few devoted fans, was waved alongside Silaran flags and those of Free South Califas the national anthems were played.

A tense first half ended in a tie without a dominating presence by either team, Luther Lewis, Cuthbert Wight, and Eugene Noble dueling Califas defenders such as Frida Rubaiyat and Nadezdha Prokhorova for possession and Abner Roberts, Wesley Walker, and Enoch Carter working hard to maintain a strong defense. As half time came around, it is safe to say both teams were thoroughly challenged by the skillful play of the other.

The majority of the second half did not fare much better. Both teams battled to break the tied-up match without much avail, both teams managing a few attempts stopped by the opposing goalkeepers. As the game came to a close, it seemed as if the match would end in a draw. However, in the final few minutes of the game, Lewis successfully lead a run for the goal with Wight and Noble. As seconds ticked down, an assist by Noble gave Lewis the chance he needed to score a final goal, narrowly beating out goalkeeper Christine Gonzalez and bringing Silar the second point it needed for a win. Lewis even raised his hand to the Royal Box housing Silaran politicians who had come to watch the match including His Royal and Serene Majesty.

The Chevaliers departed the team more than a little tired but in good spirits, the stadium filled with the familiar cheer of "King and Country." The team travels to face off against Skarakia today, a match which is expected to prove easier than yesterday's grueling trial and to be earn another win for the Chevaliers.

The win against Free South Califas has bumped Silar to fourth in their qualifying group and kicked Free South Califas to fifth, both teams holding 10 points.

Azox goes back-to-back.

At least this time Azox held off a rally, as they beat Tyrants 2-1 to improve to 2-1-3 in the qualifying stage, and are 3 points shy of the 4-way logjam for 3rd place in Group 2. Goals by Marcie Neufeld (38th) and Lilia Lasky (67th) were enough to counter Richie Darwood's 53rd minute goal. But the road ahead for the AngelWolves gets much tougher as the World famous Monks of The Archregimancy will pay their first visit to Azox on Wednesday night.

Princess Sofia and her daughter Princess Katy in Jedi8246

Katy: Hello, this is Princess Katy for Naked News Jeruselem. I'm with the Jeruselem coach Princess Sofia, err ... better known to me as Mum.
Sofia: Hello everyone
Katy: We're in Jedi8246, for 6th game of the World Cup 53 qualification.
Sofia: I'm only here because the coach and assistant coach are still at home with the flu
Katy: And about half our main team as well
Sofia: Well, I was really digging around for reserves.

Katy: First thing, we didn't lose or win. NIL all draw.
Sofia: We were a bit disorganised but then I was playing all our reserves against a full strength home team.
Katy: We could have won but our finishing wasn't that good
Sofia: Obviously the reserves haven't had enough time on the field to get used this level
Katy: Will you be coaching next game
Sofia: No, Michelle should have recovered by that time.

Katy: A particularly nasty flu this time round?
Sofia: The doctors said it was one of those. Older people better be careful and not catch it.
Katy: They say it was related to bird flu
Sofia: Explains why it was so nasty, bird flus are always bad.
Katy: Going forward, two draws and loss recently. Not the best of form.
Sofia: I know but I'm sure we are far from our best

Katy: It's pretty bad when you have draft in a reporter to play.
Sofia: Well, you're definitely no slouch. You weren't bad at all, except your scoring ability.
Katy: Well, I'm really a defender ...
Sofia: I know that dear.
Katy: Is it time to panick?
Sofia: No, far too early to judge.

Katy: The last two games were pretty much a bit of write-off
Sofia: Definitely not at our best but then last cup didn't look that good either
Katy: With our ranking, people aren't going expect much
Sofia: Yes but we're not going give up our right to the finals.
Katy: We've had a home loss and two draws away. Not something you'd want to see for finals team.
Sofia: I think the two draws could have been wins. We were just unlucky I think there.

Katy: That's it from us. We'll be back home with the full coaching staff and hopefully a full team
Sofia: Yes, I can get back to writing songs.
Katy: And buy my sister new single "my sister is a slut"
Sofia: That sounds funny, you know. People might think the song is about you.
Katy: Well, I have a bad reputation anyway.
Sofia: Might as well turn it into money

Cataduanes 2
Mapletish 2
Estadio Nacional, Santa Cruz, Cataduanes Free State.

Round 6 of the World Cup qualifiers continued last night with the packed Estadio Nacional playing host to the Lions of Mapletish. Manuel Taipa had announced a couple of changes to the first eleven a couple of days prior; with Aitor Ocio and Paco Morientes dropping to the bench. Salipada Tandang and Hector Chema replacing them respectively, it was a decision that raised a few eyebrows with questions over whether the youngsters could handle a team of Mapletish’s stature.

However the quiet and introspective Tapia did not flinch and looked his normal calm serene self during the pre-match warm ups. As they kicked off the fixture was an edgy affair as Mapletish cheerfully applied their distinctive formation (the ‘’Leones da Spectrum’’) whose counter-attacking nature did much to stifle the home sides attacking style. The real chance occurred 20 minutes into the half as Enkainia Lee led a counter charge, covering 30 yards her low square pass to Alero Junio, whose excellent movement and first touch left Hector Song stranded only to hit the post.

However it was the home side that was to notch up the first goal of the match on the 41st minute. When Lopez drifted in from the right, turned and curled a left-footed 25-yard shot high into the net. Travis Hard was beaten again just before half-time when Kris Kudarat’s pass bypassed Jaimie Lim and Juan Marmelejo coolly slotted home.

However Mapletish came back with a vengeance in the second half and they immediately pulled a goal back when Alero Junio seized on a mistake from Luis Garza in the box and, from a tight angle, hit his shot hard at Hector Song, who seemed to flinch as the shot missed his head and hit the net. Over the next 30 minutes of the second half they continued to press and missed several chances to equalise. Cataduanes were frankly unable to cope and Manuel Tapia responded by hauling off Ferdinando Estrada and Hector Chema (Both of whom had been showed yellow cards over the course of the second half), Alonso Vega and Paco Morientes coming in their stead.

And for the remainder of the match Cataduanes’s offensive play revitalized by the substitutions managed to maintain possession in a clear bid to get a third goal and seal the victory. It was a spectacle that certainly drew approval from the home fans whose sense that their team was on the verge of their first over victory in this campaign was discernible. It was a dangerous gamble on the part of Tapia who in hindsight probably should have opted for a more defensive approach, and punishment duly game on the 90th minute.

Cataduanes piled players forward in the dying seconds of the half but a long clearance by Jaimie Lim was latched onto by Di Natile catching Cataduanes stranded by the rapidity of the counter-attack. Sprinting from the hallway line Di Natile beat the last defender Mattias Guevara with ease, fooling the center-back with a little shimmy before chipping the ball perfectly over the onrushing Hector Song. The equalizer stunned the home fans whose shocked silence served to amplify the joyous chanting of the small but vocal Mapletish supporters. The home side were equally stunned and frantically played out the two minutes of injury time by launching the ball forward to try steal a goal, but it was ultimately futile as the Mapletish back line held firm.

In group 5 a win would have put more distance between Cataudanes and bottom placed Sarzanestan, who Cataduanes travel to face in round 7. So far Sarzanestan have had worse luck than Cataduanes and Tapia will continue with his offensive approach to try notch up the first win of the campaign despite not being on home turf.

For what seemed like miles they wound along grey corridors. Each one looking identical to the previous, the various door numbers being the only difference. Alpha and Gamma led the way, walking briskly through the dim maze. Friedrich followed with Beta behind him. The most disturbing factor for the ex-minister was the general lack of people. The building seemed lifeless, devoid of sound and activity barring the rhythmic trudge of their footsteps, echoing into the barren distance.

The corridors began to get larger, as did the doors. Some door bore silver plaques though they seldom said anything more than the room number. He thought he saw another occupant, though all he actually saw was a swift movement in the corner of his eye followed by the sound of a door clicking shut. Onwards they marched, no-one speaking. Occaisionally Alpha and Gamma flashed a glance at each other but no words were uttered. Then they reached a clearing.

The corridor opened onto a circular expanse, it was different to what Friedrich had already seen of Building 001. The walls were a rich teal and adorned with portraits of an old man displaying various emotions ranging from piety to regality. Though none were titled, Friedrich assumed that this must be the Holy Father. Plush black sofas also lined the walls, giving the impression of a waiting room. The penthouse suite of purgatory? In the dead centre of the room stood a huge cylindrical edifice in steel, it shone brightly and rose up to the sky. This was the point at which Friedrich noticed the ceiling of this room. There was nothing particularly special about it, it was teal like the walls but unlike in the corridor he had just left, it was hundreds of metres above them with this great metal rod passing into it.

"Wow ... !"

Alpha turned to Friedrich, he smiled. Having seen this room so many times before he scarely appreciated its majesty any more.

"This is 'l'Ascension', a glorious triumph of Communadi architecture and the one path to the Holy Father."

Alpha tenderly placed his hand upon the steel structure. With a gentle hiss, the blank wall began to bend outwards, lights appeared on the metal, glowing, flickering, dancing and music drifted in the air as if just floating in the atmosphere. Inside was a small chamber, painted in the same rich teal as the outer room. Beta pushed Friedrich from behind gesturing he enter the compartment. Tentatively, Friedrich stepped inside.

"The Holy Father awaits."

As Alpha removed his hand, the doors to Friedrich's compartment twisted inwards again. He was alone, in a steel capsule yet he was not fearful. There was something about here. It felt safe and calm, a total contrast to the building outside. With a quiet hum, he felt himself lifted, moving ever skyward. Such was the serenity of this passage, he closed his eyes and let this inner warmth drift over him. When he opened them, the teal room had disappeared and he stood alone within a great glass pyramid.

It was the first time he'd seen outside of building 001. The sun! Oh, how he'd missed seeing the sun. It hung hazily, partly obscured by a cloud and its rays bathed the landscape in gold. Not that the landscape of Mogd-Syrdusha was improved by this. The great glass pyramid in which he now stood was only the top section of a vast pyramid of steel and concrete. At its base, a grid of square and rectangular buildings stretched off into the distance, another vast monolith, cubic rather than pyramidal being the only other structure rising above the bleak horizon. Beyond this a tall wall served to define the city limits and beyond that, an empty desert. Friedrich spent a few minutes taking in his new surroundings. It was so different to the lush forests of Paradystopia, a land he was growing ever more homesick for.

"Beautiful, isn't it?"

Friedrich spun round quickly to see a young man stood behind him, gazing into the distance. His face looked prematurely lined, even behind his smart moustache and goatee. Round glasses framed milky grey eyes and his black hair was parted neatly. He turned to Friedrich and spoke, although his voice emanated seemingly from everywhere in the room simultaneously apart from his mouth.

"Mr. Hjken. It is a great pleasure to meet you at last. I trust my boys displayed the proper courtesy befitting a gentleman of your stature."
"Hello ... are you the ... err ... Holy Father?"

The man smiled warmly.

"That is what they call me, yes. Though you may call me Sigismund or Dr. Frenek should you wish. I am the creator of the Commune. I find the title 'Holy Father' a little prosiac. I am not a religious man, Mr. Hjken and although a father, I do not considor myself to be holy."
"You seem a lot younger than your portraits downstairs."
"That is because I am not here."
"What?"
"You are conversing with a hologrammatic projection of my younger physical form. I apologise if that is discomforting. You see, I am now 184 years old and my body is not what it used to be as I'm sure you can imagine. My mind, however, is fully alive and acts as overseer of all the Commune."
"But ... how? ..."
"Pleading ignorance is not becoming of you Friedrich. Everyone in Paradystopia has heard the rumours. Yes, we engage in cyber-organics, genetic enhancements and other such practices, but for the benefit of our peoples. We protect what we love and aid those who desire it."
"You mutate people who 'desire' it?"
"Yes, and those whom it is desirable for the glory of the state to mutate."
"Against their will?!"

The hologram paused, removed his glasses and cleaned the left lens. A curious thing for a computer simulation to do thought Friedrich. He replaced his glasses but averted Friedrich looks as he continued.

"Sometimes. For the glory of the Commune."
"So, is this why I'm here?"
"No Mr. Hjken. You are here because of the World Cup."
"The World Cup? Why? I'm not even the minister of sport any longer. What can I do?"
"The Commune still has political connections in our original motherland. You needn't worry about that. The fact is, that over time the morale of the Communadi denizens has diminished and this saddens me. I have watched Paradystopia's exploits in the world of international sports with ebullience. I have seen the uplifting effect it provides. I wish to create a sporting nation of the Commune."
"I still fail to see why you require me."
"DNA, Mr Hjken. The essential building blocks of life. The quintessence of what makes a sportsman or woman great. We require you to gather DNA samples of international atheletes to provide us with a team of superhumans capable of victory in any sporting event."
"I can't do that. I won't do that. Surely you can train people? Over time you will prosper."
"Whereas the victory of a sporting nation provides passion and love of ones country, a failed campaign can see the opposite effect. We have no want of failure Mr. Hjken. It is not our ... style."
"Then I refuse."
"Then my children will take you to Muskula'dheen and process you. You shall become a magnesium processor, lose all your own thoughts and memories and serve the Commune. No-one shall miss you, the repugnant, drunken disgrace that was Friedrich Hjken."

Friedrich looked at the hologram of Sigismund Frenek, his face still calm and collected though his eyes smouldered gently.

"Your antiquated morals, or your life Mr. Hjken. Choose."

The History of Apoxian Football

Part One: The Beginning
Part Two: Expansion and the Marshall Cup
Part Three: The Game Grows
Part Four: Moving on from Cups
Part Five: The Northern League

Part Five: The Midlands League

The Midlands league was set up and based around Gwinevra, with it's offices being there. As such it was dominated by a large number of teams from Gwinevra, although others managed to get a look in from time to time. During the first season, in 526, out of the 10 teams making up the league, 5 were from Gwinevra, showing the prominence that they had. Gwinevra's prominence woud fade later on, after many teams collapsed or fell from the division, never to return.

The first edition of the league was a Gwinevra affair, Gwinevra Rockets running away with the title after their rivals, Gwinevra FC couldn't keep up.

In the second edition, newly formed, Gwinevra Barbarians fought all the way to the end, but alas, they fell at the final hurdle, losing to Gwinevra Rockets on the last day of the season, and as a result, surrendering the title to them.

In the 528 season however, Gwinevra Barbarians managed to grab the title, and they didn't even have to beat the Rockets to do it, after the latter had a terrible season, finishing 4th, and then only just.

The Barbarians-Rockets duopoly continued for a number of years until, in 534, Gwinevra Rockets went bankrupt. Despite valiant efforts by the fans to keep it alive, there were simply unable to, as the number of teams from Gwinevra were too much, and all the clubs suffered. After 4 years, another two teams had gone bankrupt, Gwinevra F.C and Woolhead United and another two had merged to form Gwinevra Bulls.

One positive that can be drawn from the loss of teams from Gwinevra is that it opened up the league greatly, with other teams being able to come in a steal titles in the last 6 years of the league's life. The most promising of these was Wye United, who formed in 537, and by the league's dissipation in 545 because of the civil war, they were running for a three-peat of titles.

At the end of the league's existence, there was a poll to see who the best player in the league was. Many good players were nominated, but in the end, it could only go to one player. Jack Quillisi. He won an astonishing 64% of the vote, that was how popular he was. He had made his footballing debut in 520, originally playing for Dwile Warriors, further south. However, he was not able to be used effectively there, and was sold off after 3 years, aged just 22, to Gwinevra Rockets after picking up the good, but not impressive stats of 12 appearances, 4 goals.

However, it was at the Rockets where he made his name. He played for them for 7 seasons, playing from 524 to 531, winning the league 3 times with them, the last time as captain in 529. In his defensive midfielder role, he was pivotal for the team, putting in match-winning performance after performance. Somehow, and this is testament to his fantastic fitness, he managed to play as both an attacking player and a defending, almost in two places at the same time. He asked from a move in 531, and the Rockets, although they didn't want him to leave, realised that he would sell for good profit which they needed as they were having money trouble by then. Some have even joked that Jack Quillisi gave the Rockets an extra 3 years of life!
His stats, at the Rockets were, played 201, scored 62 goals.

He eventually ended up at Gwinevra Barbarians, the Rockets arch-rivals. For his first two years there, he missed out on success, but was rewarded, and in 534, at the age of 34, he captained his club to another title. He stayed on for two more years, finally retiring in 536, after notching up a further 128 caps and 32 goals for the Barbarians. He coached a couple of small town clubs between 538-544, but then, after having little success, he gave up that dream to become a football pundit.

Tragically, he was killed 2 years later, in the purges of the civil war at the age of just 47, leaving behind his wife, Miriam and two sons, Jon and Jarvis.

Below are the stats of the Midlands League in the 19 years in was active:

Gwinevra Rockets - 5 times: 526, 527, 529, 532, 533
Gwinevra Barbarians - 5 times: 528, 530, 534, 538, 542
Woolhead United - 2 times: 531, 535
Heterbourne Town - 2 times: 537, 540
Wye United - 2 times: 543, 544
FC Brimstone - 1 time: 536
Southern Wrexton - 1 time: 539
Gwinevra Bulls - 1 time: 541

Jon Quillisi Has Opinions column from the Apoxian Word

A very relieved Apox team walked off the pitch on Tuesday after a necessary 1-0 win over a strong, and over achieving Warkus side. The only difference between the two was a single Chris Maarsden strike in the 71st minute after he was handed a starting spot for the game.

The relief will be all John Grigia's, as his struggling defence managed to hold firm, and give us a clean sheet, something seen only rarely since our first qualification attempt, back in World Cup 61. The defence this time consisted of veterans Jack Forster and Chris Neguwa starting, with the new additions of Oley Williams at left-back and Dan Weekes filling the other spot. However, with Chris Neguwa ageing, and squad full of hit and miss talent in the defensive area, Grigia may have to further trawl the Apox National League for outstanding defenders.

In attack, though we are spoilt for attacking options, with Dravid Scott's selection being almost guaranteed, leaving only one other spot, with 5 strikers waiting to fill it. Perhaps this says something of our traditional attacking culture, with a great strength in depth up front, but the back being sometimes poorly managed. Against Warkus, Chris Maarsden got the starting spot, although young guns Marlon Vetta and Keri Ularu would have been equally competent starting, and Tom Olfa and Gregari Stanislav are also good players.

Its been a moderately average campaign for the team so far, as they're beaten some of the harder side, but fell short against slightly lower ranked opponents.
It's been and interesting qualification across all groups so far, as the more experienced opposition has been tripping up, and many new teams impressing. We just need to dig down and make sure we can now beat everyone to push our way further up the table, and plough through the teams ahead to get up to those top 2 places.

See you next time,

Jon

“They’re here, chief, the experts hwhom you invited.”

“Good.
All of them?”

“Ayyuh, they all arrived at the meeting-place that we specified as a group.”

“Hr’rmm. Maybeso they already know hwhat’s with going on these trespassing
‘tourists’ , then: Hopefully they already know more than we do, in fact.”

“Ur’rmm’…”

“Smell it, these are all distinguished people who’ve served our country verrry well indeed over the octades, so we don’t have to worry about any of them being security hrrisks, and we already knew that they all know each other … and bearing in mind the stories about some of their past exploits, I suppose it won’t hrrreally be too much of a surprise if at least one of them could tell us hwhat’s behind this business.”

“Well, hokay.”

The two Bears who’ve been speaking here leave the office where that conversation took place, and have to walk only a short distance down the corridor to reach the conference room where their invited guests are waiting. Another two Bears join them just before they enter that chamber. Once they’re inside, the Bear whom the other speaker had called ‘chief’ addresses these visitors_

“Hrarroom! My thanks, and the thanks of this agency, to all of you for agreeing to come here. I am Mister Hrraleigh , the current director of BASIC*, these are Special Agents LoneBear and Karramarsar, and that’s my assistant Miss RedRose. Agents, I introduce you to the Wise Grorfinn, Marra SunDaughter, Sermharn the Wanderer, Berrond Half-TrueBear, and Grimdark.”

“Whau!”

Jeremy's headache had turned into a full-on migraine by the time he reached the airport. The migraine took a turn for the worse as he looked at the departures board.

It had taken fourteen hours to make the journey from Audioslavia... or what 'was' Audioslavia... to Wight. According to the departures board, the return journey would take a little over twenty minutes.

"Why does it only take twenty minutes to get to Audioslavia?" asked Jeremy's head, in between throbs.
"Well, it is only a short hop over the Bight" said the friendly, if imposingly tall lady at the help desk.
"...what" said Jeremy, nasally.
"The Bight, the sea between Wight and Audioslavia"
"But the journey here took fourteen hours!"
"You must have travelled yesterday, then, when Audioslavia was further away"
"But how can that be?" asked Jeremy
"Well... imagine a piece of paper..."

---

All of the fifty million or so Audioslavians - except the ones that were babies or mutes - were remarking on the change. Audioslavians tended not to like the idea of change, but it would take a very strange person to assert that it was a change for the worse.
"I went out into the desert yesterday" said one fellow to Jeremy, upon his return, "and it was all grass and trees, and wombats and giraffes and badgers and lemurs. Just like the picture books of old Audioslavia.
"Made the drive from Sierra Herradura to Cathair" said another, "didn't get even one click from my geiger counter. The journey took a tenth of the time too. This is great!"
All over the country, Polarian cartographers were dallying with big bits of rope and lasers and cameras, measuring the new land's contours with a level of exuberance only a Polarian could have when faced the prospect of mapping a new nation.
"What happened to the Naitpygians?" asked Jeremy to an old acquaintance, one who worked for the foreign affairs ministry.
"Night pigeons?"
"Naitpygians, people from Naitpyge"
"Oh, them, there's a few of them who evidently got... lost... in the move, but they still have all those islands, somewhere in the east. We're shoveling them off in that direction. It's all worked out remarkable well, it seems. Kjeligsted hasn't been flooded like before, with the Wight Catastrophe. Remain to be seen if anything has gone horribly, horribly awry".

A month later:

AKBARABAD, AUDIOSLAVIA BETTER
"Possibly the most important qualifying win for a century" :- Israel Klimt

That Audioslavia had gone 4-0-1 in qualifying before the game had been a credit to the new manager, Israel Klimt, but an asterisk had to be placed over the manager's name when it came to praising him for his team's failure to capitulate to 'lesser' opposition like previous incarnations of the claret and green: *He's yet to beat a 'good' team.

This, then, was the test. Akbarabad, ranked twenty places higher in the rankings than our own Audioslavia, away from home, a six-pointer with the Bulls well in the hunt for a top-two finish and their hosts expecting to kick-on after a slow start to the campaign.

The game itself was the antithesis of the scrappy, aggressive, directionless football played in the last qualifiers, under the tutelage of Txo Morea. Klimt's Audioslavia were staunchly resolute in defence, the back-four given plenty of protection by the energetic Soccorso, with the likes of Velazquez, the Jansen brothers and Weverton Sporadic - starting his first game since the early rounds of the AOCAF - acting as defensive aides as well as avenues for Audioslavia to recycle the ball. After an opening twenty minutes which saw the home side press forlornly against the figurative brick wall, the claret-clad visitors started to impose their own footprint on the game, and by the break neither side could claim to be the better of the two.

Sporadic headed the charge in the second half, setting up a chance for Karsten Eiger to mis-hit despite being behind the defence and with time to compose his shot, and almost scoring himself with an audacious lobbed shot which had the Akbarabad goalkeeper well beaten, the ball dropping over his head but drifting agonizingly wide of the target.

Audioslavia were well in the ascendancy before the tired Sporadic made way for Nico Ferz, a striker for a midfielder, and it would be Ferz that would create the only goal of the game, taking advantage of some tired defending via an interception of a defender's mis-hit clearance, a glance up ahead of him, and a simple pass to Eiger who was using his strength to hold off a defender. Eiger's first touch pushed the ball away from the defender and towards the penalty spot, and the low, driven shot left the goalkeeper helpless.

Eiger's slide-on-the-knees celebration would be one of his last activities of the day, the striker making way for defensive midfielder Luca Romanov as the Bulls sought to protect the lead.

The football being played under Israel Klimt might not be too exciting for the casual observer, but if the previously unheralded Audioslavian can force the Bulls into contention for a qualifying spot, come next autumn, no-one in Audioslavia is going to mind one bit.

THE ROYAL KINGDOM OF QUEBEC 3 – 4 KALEDOR

THE ROYAL KINGDOM OF QUEBEC 3 – 4 KALEDOR
WORLD CUP QUALIFIER
VENUE: ST. CROIX STADIUM, QUEBEC CITY
ATTENDANCE: 48,750

A sublime hat-trick by Sir Galahad helped the Knights to an extraordinary victory over Quebec after a thrilling match. Sir Galahad has failed to hit form since being crowned Kaledor's best player at the Baptism Of Fire. But he went some way to restoring some pride with a fine individual display.
The Knights supporters haven't witnessed too much drama since Lord Agravaine adopted this new defensive formation, so this thrilling contest was highly welcome, especially after their dismal performance against Milchama.
Both teams contributed to an end-to-end encounter. It was never plain sailing for the Knights who went behind once and managed to lose the lead twice, before taking victory. Both teams looked like scoring every time they went forward in an offensive contest.
Quebec enjoyed the greater possession in a scrappy opening and made all the early running. They took the lead after 10 minutes when Thunderbolt Charles was picked out with a pinpoint pass, and he showed tremendous cool to fire in from 15 yards.
But Quebec's joy was short-lived as Kaledor equalised inside four minutes. Sir Kay was the scorer, redirecting Sir Safir's header past the keeper.
Quebec forced a fine save from Sir Gawain, and then saw a shot blocked by Sir Bors as the match opened up. Quebec were on top and a piledriver shot whizzed just over, although for Kaledor Sir Safir stung the keeper's hands with a powerful strike. Sir Safir also whipped in a free-kick which was inches away from being turned in as the match continued to ebb and flow.
The second half began with a Quebecan shot which Sir Gawain grabbed at the second attempt - but Kaledor were soon ahead. Sir Safir's long ball found Sir Galahad, who beat the offside trap and controlled the ball brilliantly before rounding the keeper and slotting home.
Sir Safir then forced a fabulous save from the keeper as The Knights piled forward, but Lord Agravaine's men soon found themselves pegged back. From a cross the Kaledorian backline were unable to clear and Seo Weon fired the loose ball home.
Sir Galahad curled one just wide on 65 minutes - but the midfielders disappointment turned to ecstasy two minutes later as he scored a fine goal. He controlled Sir Safir's pass and produced a delightful turn before hammering an unstoppable low drive past the Keeper.
Sir Tarquine lobbed wide as Kaledor looked to seal the game, yet on 73 minutes it was Quebec celebrating again. A clever pass was laid into the path of Thunderbolt Charles who shot past Sir Gawain with some aplomb.
There was no let-up in the drama for the enthralled crowd as Sir Safir's free-kick flew just wide on 81 minutes. But the name of Sir Galahad resounded around the stadium two minutes later as he latched on to the ball after a blunder by the Quebecan defence and coolly finished past the keeper.
The Quebecans produced a late surge to try and find an equaliser once more, but the Knights defence valiantly held on until time was up.
The victory saw the Knights more than double their goals scored in one night, and was reminiscent of the type of display they put on during the Baptism Of Fire.
Next up the Knights host Timfen. The Knights have been a bit of a conumdrum at home, while they have seen their best performances come on the road. But they will know this will be a winnable game. It’s also a good chance to move into the top half of the table. They will no doubt go into the tie bursting with confidence after the latest thriller.

"That was a very very close and annoying match, that match was just pure mayhem. But the manager has been restricted on saying different parts which he will be very annoyed about. So I hope to see him try to RP." said Gary Hughes when standing onto his feet. "I hope he makes the best of it. Do you think that Luke?"

"Quite Right my friend. I think it will annoy him so much he won't do to much of it at all. I hope he is so angry he is going to do something to the slembanan players in the home match against them in Match Day 15." said Luke Homewood with some extra food in his bag. "I really do hope it happens."

What happened in the eyes of the manager
Matthew Johnstone

Excuse me for being like this in the following paragraphs. I was really annoyed and angry at tat moment.

Stupid, little Slembanan people. They always annoy me too much. This time they would not let me to say extra stuff in this. They are really getting on my nerves those people. I really hope that Val Kylx would be responsible for this. I then could find him easily and get him to do really bad things to the team for all of what he might do. Well so then here goes a really bad attempt to write this and keep in the restrictions.

In the 21st came a really bad.....

I can't do this !*******! thing properly with these restrictions. This is just !*****!. I really do apologize for my rudeness in this so far. Okay then here goes the second attempt at this.

In the 21st came a really bad decision by the ref. Raiyaan Malik got pushed over by Follin Maxet right in front of the referee. The ref gave a free kick to Follin Maxet, for "Raiyaan Maik tackling him" how unfair is that to be a ref. A yellow was shown to Raiyaan Malik for apparently tackling Follin Maxet. The ref got it the other way round. To make it worse for me the ref awarded a free kick at the same spot but on the opposite half. So they could shot from the free kick. When it was supposed to be a free kick from their half as we were attacking and they were defending. The free Kick went in by Jyvx Dagens. That was the worst moment so far in this qualifying for me. I can't get much more annoyed with the ref. But it might happen again if some really bad had happened.

And it did, the referee gave a goal by Val Kylx in the 37th minute. He only hit the crossbar and got saved by Osama Homewood. The ref gave him a RED CARD for saving the ball. The referee said to me afterwards that he was diving and so the goal was allowed and it was fair that Slembana gets a penalty. What type of official ref is he. An Unofficial Slembanan Ref or something and disguised himself. That is really disappointed.

It even got worse afterwards, in the 67th minute, Raiyaan Malik scored a fair and square goal, but as usual the ref gave him another yellow for scoring. Then I went over the limit zone. That is where I get past my levels and make my opponent wrestle with me. So I did, the wrestling match between me and the ref was a go in the middle of the football match. I always win and this time I did as well, so the ref went to hospital and the fans were just silent and just stared at me all the way long until the managers bench. The got replaced by a real official Referee. And the match should only be 1-0 to Boring Paradise. If they then restart the match. That would have been fine. The referee just continued playing from where it was before. With two more goals by Sameer Jaklim and Hishaam Ali made the final result a draw.

OOC: Sorry for this happening, but I needed my manager to get really angry after this game.

'...And if you've just tuned in to "Fligsive in the Morning", it's me, your host, Ben Fletcher...'

'And me, Patrick Murray. Now, onto the sport. So tell me Fletch, what's been going on in the World Cup?'

'Well, The Inevitable Syndicate won their game against Exrasus last night at the Flynn Arena. I had the opportunity to take the husband there - we had a fantastic time.

'Oh, I'll bet you did. The score was 1-0, right? And Birch was back from his match ban?'

'Yes, he was. Nathan Powell did us the honour of scoring, in the 28th minute after a fantastic play against the Exrasian defence. It really was quite remarkable.'

'Fantastic. And that puts us into 4th in the rankings, right? After Astograth, Ossidiacqua & Vilita?'

'Correct. It's not an ideal place, but it's above Cyborg Holland. Next up, we play Lalo Limahina, a team that were in our Baptism of Fire. They are also a nation within the region, so it should be a fun game for everyone.'

'The team don't have to travel too far, eh? That's cool. What about other sports?'

'Antonio Cronin got thrashed in three straight sets in the Estope Open, as is coming home to Pinehearth to sulk in shame. We couldn't reach him for comment, but I'm sure he's pissed.'

'Damn. That's tough, losing right off the racket, if you will. And isn't there someone in the International Chess Tournament?'

'There is, Patch. Raymond Yarsley is doing brilliantly, winning both his games against a rock and a homeless man. It's an odd world we live in, and it makes me glad to be home in the Syndicate.'

'Damn right, Fletch. Anyway, dear listeners, here's some music for you...'
