Out of boredom, I just took an online IQ test. It rated me in at a humbling 117, my ego lead me to believe I'd score much higher, but whatever tis but a stupid online quiz (albeit from a pretty legit site).

True to my ever competitive nature, I must ask you NSG, What's your IQ? Feel free to rate the quality of the quiz too, I felt it was pretty legit with the questions and all.

Then again, I'm using one of those touchpads for a laptop instead of a mouse, so that probably took a fair bit of my time...

Do you know what that means? That I excell at making IQ tests (Or just the one I made back then)

In my opinion this entire IQ fad is overrated, especially noting that it isn't a particularly useful indicator per se.

I know people with lower IQs than mine that are better/more knowledgeable/skilled at music, visual arts, mathematics, sciences, writing, etc. than me (And I am sure that includes people in this thread too).

Oh, and don't even get me at the amount of factors these so called "Officially certified" tests don't (even) account for (Or the indicators and methods they utilise).

You might have excelled at some parts, but scored normally/less than average on others.

Just because your score isn't in the top percentile doesn't mean you are an inherently less worthy person, or inherently less capable.

I didn't answer a single question in numeric reasoning, and I damn well tried to. My brain isn't good with that sort of stuff. My mind just becomes a total fog. There is a reason for that, though. Stupid brain. Do math!

I could certainly work on speeding up my arithmetic.

IQ tests aren't that great, though. Like most people, I excel in some particular areas, and don't do too good in others. I can accept not that I'm not a genius by IQ standards, but one of my strongest skills is my creativity, and IQ tests don't test for that.

I'd also like to point out that I've taken quite a few IQ tests, and gotten scores ranging from around 107 to 130. That's quite a large margin for inaccuracy.
