Is there an afterlife?

You (as in, your mind) is not alive, active, conscious, or anything, though, so it isn't an afterlife. The living things in that scenario are the worms, who haven't died.

The basic concept of an afterlife -- some kind of existance after you on this Earth die -- doesn't require eternal life. There could be a second "death" in it.

I don't think there's an afterlife in the Xtian sense, but I think there might be lives after this one. The living consciousness won't be aware of these. Subconsciousness, maybe peripherally. And the whole reincarnation thing is technically more believable (since the matter and energy that make you you, will continue on in a different form, afterwards) than the concept of afterlife preached by the various Xtian factions.

But my personal theory? Souls can still be bought and sold after the person is deceased. Think of the business opportunities there! Any fool with a Swiss bank account can bid on them! You can still have your enemy's soul to lord over years after killing him.
