A man in Co has been arrested for the heinous crime of carrying a gun...after a maniac shot 70 unarmed people in a theater...he was in a theater too...

This is all because somebody might see the gun and say "ooh, shiny, I must have it"and take it...and it says any dangerous weapon too, so what about pepper spray...what a joke

It is not a crime to open carry in Colorado. I'm not certain on their laws, but where I live it's not even illegal to openly carry into a place marked with "No firearms" or the like if its a private business unless they ask you to leave in which case if you do not you are defined as 'trespassing'.

He should've been asked to leave if the theater didn't like it (they must not have had a problem with it if they allowed him IN), arresting him because he made somebody nervous is ridiculous, although he did make the right move in immediately surrendering. But I don't see how openly carrying is dangerous or unlawful here.

Edit: After glancing at the Municipalities code here it is easily proven he wasn't breaking any laws (see the very bottom for the open carry restrictions). He wasn't on county property, nothing much else to say.

He said that it's silly that gun rights are at the top of things you care about. The others are much more important.
