Legend
In the results grid, each row contains a team’s home matches and each column contains a team’s away matches. The home score is on the left. The fixtures are played in the following order (1 indicates the first team listed in the group draw, 2 indicates the second team, et cetera): 2v3, 4v1 · 1v2, 3v4 · 3v1, 2v4 · 1v3, 4v2 · 3v2, 1v4 · 2v1, 4v3

If two or more teams are equal on points on completion of the group matches, the following criteria are applied to determine the rankings:

  1. higher number of points obtained in the group matches played among the teams in question,
  2. superior goal difference from the group matches played among the teams in question,
  3. higher number of goals scored in the group matches played among the teams in question,
  4. higher number of goals scored away from home in the group matches played among the teams in question,
  5. superior goal difference,
  6. higher number of goals scored,
  7. higher number of goals scored away from home,
  8. higher number of wins,
  9. higher number of wins away from home,
  10. lower disciplinary points total based only on yellow and red cards received in all group matches (red card = 3 points, yellow card = 1 point, expulsion for two yellow cards in one match = 3 points),
    1. Champions League & Challengers Cup: higher club coëfficient ranking,
    2. Liga B Champions Trophy & Rising Stars Cup: drawing of lots,
    3. Super Cup: kicks from the penalty mark.
In the Super Cup, only criteria 1, 5, 6, and 11c apply.

(BNJ) Herzegovina City FC 0–1 Raynor City United (VAL)

An historic final in Quebec and Shingoryeo as Banijans Herzegovina City face off against the Vanorian behemoth Raynor City United. Herzegovina City show spirit as they look to repeat the feat of their compatriots Kitara AA from the 6th IFCF Champions League final, but instead it is Raynor City United who win the final 1-0 to become the single most successful club side in UICA/IFCF history – winning a second IFCF Champions League to take them to 7 triumphs in total.

(SVJ) Partisan Sjoedrhavn 2–0 Chromatik (CMT)

The finale of an exhilarating IFCF Challengers Cup comes from the cavernous Kilmonarch in Pasarga, with Savojar side Partisan Sjoedrhavn playing Chromatik for the trophy. Partisan look to win their nation’s second IFCF honour after CASK Thorsborg defeated Chromatik on penalties in the final of the 12th IFCF Champions League. Chromatik try to snap a streak of finals defeats, losing out in two IFCF Champions League finals and hoping that they fare better here in the IFCF Challengers Cup. In the end it is Partisan who continue that streak – winning 2-0 in the final, a short hop across Rushmore for the Savojar side.

(SRS) Interblag FC 1–2 Evenfar FC (PAS)

Evenfar FC were surely not even surprised to have made it this far: they were the top team from a second division that had, before this edition, already produced five distinct SBCC/LBCT champions. Interblag FC, for their part, became the first Squornshelan team to reach a final for this tournament, and third overall. Internally, there is the possibility they might have thought of blagging the game away from their opponents. Alas, it was not to be, and Evenfar FC manage the first win in regular time in three editions, as well as the second in five.

(KSK) Kirkenes FC 1–2 Sivolvia Central AC (SRS)

Kirkenes are more used to competing for the highest IFCF honour after winning the 16th Champions League final on penalties before going to the well once again and reaching the final of the 17th edition before Brenecians Northern Union saw them off. Squornshelan sides are traditionally more well-versed in winning IFCF Challengers Cup titles, but Sivolvia Central continued the country’s distinguished record in finals by seeing off one of the most successful sides in recent memory with a 2-1 victory in Chartistan.

Where are the footballing legends of tomorrow going to come from? If you answered Farfadillis or Cassadaigua then you are correct, although it’s a rather common theme throughout footballing history. La + Querida and Starksville Coastal once again demonstrated this in this season’s IFCF Rising Stars Cup, impressing against competition from around the multiverse and in the end it is the Dagans who add another trophy to their nation’s impressive resume and directly to the Starksville Coastal trophy cabinet, with a 2-1 win over the Farfish side.

Vanorian giants Raynor City United looked to make it two wins from two and defend their crown to start the history of the new regional competition, yet Istria City from Banija was keen on punching upwards and trying to reestablish Banija prominence in the domestic scene. Though United gave a solid effort, the Banija club was able to do enough to take the title away from the holders and add their names to the record books.

Entries into the next Hui Lā are now open and close when the IFCF deadline is posted. Entries must be the champions of an association and second entries must be the champions of the association's cup, or the highest placed club from the association in a multi-association league. If there is no cup or the league champion does the double, then the second entry should be allocated to second place in the league. All primary associations in Arrosia are entitled to two entries, besides Banija, who shall be granted a third entry if Istria City FC does not qualify through league or cup performance.

Biyambi Qualifiers

2032 BT Biyambi Football League season review

The 2032 Biyambi Football League (known as the BT Biyambi Football League for sponsorship reasons) was the 71st season of the Biyambi Football League (BFL), Biyambi's premier football league. This was also the second season of the BFL as a fully professional league.

Last season, Mansanduni Union experienced its worst start in BFL history, losing seven consecutive matches. However, this season, the defending champions rebounded strongly, winning their first three games and securing the top spot in the league table with 12 goals.

On Matchday 4, Mighty Rangers overtook their cross-town rivals, Mansanduni Union, by defeating recently promoted Magome FC 6-1. Meanwhile, Union struggled to score against the underwhelming Mafumu Chiefs, resulting in a goalless draw. Both Mighty Rangers and Union had 10 points, but Rangers claimed the top spot due to a superior goal difference thanks to goals from Orama Bukani. The 2 million NSD investment in striker Orama Bukani, a former Mansanduni Union player, appeared to be paying off for the Rangers.

The following week saw Mansanduni Union persisting in their poor form, suffering their first loss of the season to last season's runners-up, Amari Tsopa. Meanwhile, Mighty Rangers solidified their position at the summit by defeating Ezani Hammers 4-0.

In early September, Mafumu Chiefs proved a stumbling block for Mighty Rangers, just as they had been for Mansanduni Union. Mighty Rangers drew against Chiefs, while Union secured a victory in the derby against rivals Amangwazi Birnin, intensifying the pressure on Rangers as Union approached closer to the top of the table.

In a highly anticipated matchup between rivals, 1st place Mighty Rangers and 3rd place Mansanduni Union in the Mbera Derby, Rangers would suffer their first defeat of the season in a 4-0 thrashing at home. This outcome allowed surprise package, Bangome Wanderers, to seize the opportunity and claim the top spot in the table. It was quite surprising that Union had pushed aside Mighty Rangers in such a manner considering that Rangers were in quite the good form this season, but even more surprising was the turn in fortunes for Bangome Wanderers. Wanderers had finished 9th out of 10th last season with just 5 wins out of 18 matches but now found themselves at the top of the table on a 8-match unbeaten run.

The following matchday, Mansanduni Union reclaimed the top spot on the table for the first time since Matchday 4, while Mighty Rangers faced their second consecutive loss of the season. In the previous season, Mighty Rangers had been a contender for the title for most of the season but had fallen out of the top 4 due to poor form, finishing in a disappointing 8th place.

Reflecting on last season, Black Leopards manager William Gadi had suggested that the Nomads were title pretenders. When asked by the press about William Gadi's statement following their second consecutive loss this season, Rangers manager Che Yunos responded confidently stating that if they were to be respected they would have to win the league title this season and they were determined to achieve that goal.

Bangome Wanderers would continue their fairy tale run, extending it to an 11-game unbeaten run before losing to Mighty Rangers. The good run saw the Wanderers board receive praises for trusting their manager Chris Tambala after the team had finished 2nd to bottom last season.

Mighty Rangers would regain the top spot after defeating Wanderers, marking their first time at the summit since matchday 8. Meanwhile, their rivals, Mansanduni Union, dropped from the top position after experiencing their first loss in five games against a struggling Black Leopards side.

Rangers would not enjoy their time at the top of the summit after losing it to Mansanduni Union on matchday 14 after they had beat Amari Tsopa, 3-0.

With matchday 14 completed and only 4 matches remaining, the BFL title race was at a crucial juncture. Mansanduni Union led the table with 31 points, closely followed by their rivals, Mighty Rangers, with 30 points, and Bangome Wanderers in third place with 24 points. The stakes were high, as each of these three teams had a shot at claiming the Biyambi Football League Championship title.

For Mansanduni Union, winning would mean securing their 2nd consecutive BFL title, narrowing the gap in titles against rivals Amangwazi Birnin. A win for Bangome Wanderers would mark their first-ever BFL title, while Mighty Rangers aimed for their first league championship in 21 seasons. The motivation was evident, and the intense title race was underway.

On matchday 15, all three title contenders secured victories, but the Mansanduni Union vs.Amangwazi Birnin Derby became controversial. Allegedly, Amangwazi Birnin supporters had hired a witch doctor who had sprayed and cursed the Dean Dundunza Arena field (Mansanduni Union's stadium) with Urine. Despite winning, Mansanduni Union suffered injuries to their captain James Makina and star striker Zack Dawnbridge, sparking a post-game fight between Union and Amangwazi supporters that required intervention from Mansanduni Union Royal City Police (MAROCIPO)

Matchday 16 saw Bangome Wanderers exit the title race with a 0-0 draw against Mansanduni Union, allowing Mighty Rangers to reclaim top spot by defeating Amangwazi Birnin 1-0.

The climax occurred on matchday 17 with a showdown between Mansanduni Union and Mighty Rangers. The rivalry between the two sides had spun for generations after disgruntled players had left Mighty Rangers to found Mansanduni Union. This matchday was a must win for Mansanduni Union because if they lost that meant that Rangers would be declared champions at Union's stadium and they wouldn't allow that abomination to happen. This match would see Orama Bukani return to Dean Dundunza Arena, he had been a Union player and had helped them win the CMFA Champions League against Amangwazi Birnin a few years back. He had left because he wanted to get out of the shadow of Zack Dawnbridge and he would become a Mighty Rangers hero if his team won in this match. The stage was set for an exhilarating encounter.

Despite Union having lost key players to injuries, they dominated the early minutes , taking a 1-0 lead in the 10th minute/ Hopwever, a tragic injury to Lawrence Chiwaya shifted the momentum. Chiwaya had collided with Bukani and had been taken off the pitch by an ambulance. Renagers, led by Orama Bukani and captain Andrew Keegan would then dominate the game securing a 6-1 victory thanks to their hattricks, clinching the BFL league championship for the 5th time.

After the game legendary Union manager, Bwana Dewa Dana promised that the team would reclaim their title in the following season but for now they would have to settle for the Biyambi Cup and the PFL Cup which he promised the team would win.

With the title race over, the focus shifted to the top 4 race, where Black Leopard sought international club football qualification. Black Leopards had struggled in the first round of the season but had made a comeback in the second round finding themselves in 5th place. Black Leopards would qualify for international football if they beat Amangwazi Birnin and their cross town rivals lost against the champions, Mighty Rangers.

Matchday 18 would see Leopards win but ultimately fail to qualify for international club football after PZ Star defeated a tired Mighty Rangers side that had been celebrating after winning the league championship.

Mansanduni Union would end their season in a whimper losing to 5-time BFL champions and promoted side Magome FC.

Future bids for host stadia will be taken into consideration, though the default in case of no bids will always be the stadium of Stade de Torgos in Torgos. A final reminder also that all Rushmori nations only (including any and all puppets) will be able to submit their league champions only (or top ranked team in the event of multi-associational leagues of more than one Rushmori nation) for entry into the next CdC; this includes puppet leagues that don't submit to IFCF. The submission period opened when the IFCF closed entries to the last IFCF tournaments, and will close again when the IFCF closes entries to the next IFCF tournaments. No invitations will be sent. You must indicate at the bottom of your league summary that you wish your league champion to take part, and I take no responsibility for missing it if you've only shown it in your table.

Keep your entries coming in for the next edition!

Procedural Notes:
  • The entries of Parsewi Mengwi (Pemecutan), Sporting Arrachai (Acastanha), and Prinsen af Rosen AC (Capital Cove) were accepted on the condition that for next season their association submits their cup results according to Cup Winners' Cup regulations. Failure to comply with this provision will result in the exclusion of their entries for next season.
  • The entry of SS Vitelogna (Macbon) was rejected since no evidence of cup results was found.
  • The entry of Drumchapel United (Glazgo) was rejected since their association (once again) did not fully comply with entry requirements, submitting evidence of scores just for the final two rounds of their cup tournament instead of the three rounds required.

The Sixty-Sixth Cup Winners' Cup

Previous Winners: Cup Winners' Cup History

Welcome one and all to the sixty-sixth edition of the Cup Winners' Cup, brought to you by the International Federation of Club Football or IFCF for short. This edition of the competition will see 45 clubs from 44 associations participate, an increase of four clubs and four associations from the last edition, with titleholders Atletik entering the competition despite not qualifying through the slot allocated to the Mytanijan domestic cup winners. With 45 clubs taking part in this edition, the titleholders as well as the cup winners from the top 18 ranked associations in the pre-IFCF 18 coëfficients will receive a bye to the first round proper, while the remaining 26 clubs will take part in the preliminary round with the 13 winners advancing to join those 19 clubs in the following round.

Final Site Election

Given that this time only one football association (Pasarga) expressed its interest in hosting this edition's final and submitted its bid to the consideration of the Organizing Committee, the process was rather straight-forward to the extent that the Organizing Committee members came to the conclusion that holding a meeting or forcing the prospective bidders to perform some outrageous task to win the hosting rights was rather pointless. Thus, it was decided by acclamation that the sixty-sixth Cup Winners' Cup final will be played at Stein-los Stadium in Stein-los, Pasarga (cap. 59,000).

The 45th Campionato Esportivano di Campeones
THE LEAGUE OF ESPORTIVAN CHAMPIONS
FOR THE CYCLE ENDING WITH IFCF 18
Entry list/Group Stage Draw

Procedural Notes:
  • This edition is scorinated by South Newlandia and Zeta Reka and Hügeltaldom (probably).
  • There were 21 total entries. Faced with a number of bad options, this edition will see 10 teams enter a preliminary round, followed by the remaining 16 teams playing in four groups of four. For associations submitting multiple teams, only the second-listed team will be entered into the preliminary round.
  • The resubmitted entries of Capital Cove and Josifovo are accepted. The associations are reminded that they will need to submit new entries for the next edition.
  • There was one bid received to host the CEdC final. However, this bid was not accepted. The final will be hosted at the Stadium of Friendship, Elephant Valley, South Newlandia.
  • The complete entry list can be found below. If you believe we made a mistake in compiling entries, or otherwise made a wrong step, please alert South Newlandia as soon as possible.

Macbon (MCO): Stade de Besannin, SS Vitelogna
Xanneria (XAN): Pearlham SC, Hawthorne Kickers
Tumbra (TMB): Newark Argyle, FC Inter Nantwich
Gouvanarch (GVN): AS Plourafel, Olympique Pont-Priaël
Esportivan Darmen (ESD): Nyíregyháza Spartacus FC, Cairo United
Schimata (SCH): PAET, AOEA Efkarpia
Sylestone (SYL): Mid-Capital, Whitepool
Zeta Reka & Hügeltaldom (ZRH): Aleiusia Capital, SPEKtro Sportlich
Capital Cove (CPC): CC Defense Forces, Prinsen af Rosen AC
Natanians and Nosts (NTN): The Northern Blue Lions, S.C. N-City
Josifovo (JSF): Hajduk Gradsko

Assuming the entry list is correct:

Preliminary Round Draw
the team listed first will play the first match at home

SS Vitelogna (MCO) vs. SPEKtro Sportlich (ZRH)
S.C. N-City (NTN) vs. Whitepool (SYL)
Olympique Pont-Priaël (GVN) vs. Hawthorne Kickers (XAN)
AOEA Efkarpia (SCH) vs. Prinsen af Rosen AC (CPC)
Hajduk Gradsko (JSF) vs. Cairo United (ESD)

Because the Group Draw is heavily dependent on the results of the above fixtures, it will only take place in the next post.

The 66th Cup Winners' Cup

Final
Played at Stein-los Stadium in Stein-los, Pasarga

(EXT) Athletic Saint Eleanor 0–3 Tanrısal (PAS)

Congratulations to Tanrısal, who despite playing the final on "home" soil without being actually the administrative host of the match nor playing at their own stadium, managed to claim their second Cup Winners' Cup triumph by bringing the first deep run in the competition by a club from Saint Eleanor to an end at the last hurdle.

Notes for Cup Winners' Cup Entry

  • Each association may enter ONE club into the Cup Winners' Cup, with the exception of Pasarga which may enter one club in addition to Tanrısal.
  • Should Tanrısal win their qualifying national association or league cup, the spot held over for a second Pasargan entrant will be vacated.
  • With the exception of Tanrısal, all entered teams must have won a national association or league cup; Super Cup winners and winners of play-offs cannot be entered.
  • Clubs can only qualify through ONE domestic cup competition.
  • Associations with two or more cup competitions must choose which one of their cup competitions will award their Cup Winners' Cup berth to its winner. Play-off matches between cup winners to decide the qualifier will not be accepted.
  • For multiassociational cup competitions, only the cup winner is entitled to enter the Cup Winners' Cup. Associations taking part in such competitions that grant the winner qualification for the Cup Winners' Cup may not qualify clubs through a different cup tournament.
  • Each user may enter clubs from no more than two associations. Puppet nations must be declared upon entry.
  • Entrants must be posted in the International Domestic Soccer NewsWires (i.e. this thread), and at least the last three knockout rounds of the domestic cup tournament (i.e. quarterfinals, semifinals, and final) must have been scorinated and posted (with a link in the IDSN if it is posted elsewhere).
  • The deadline for Cup Winners' Cup entry will expire at the same time as the IFCF one.

Stadium bids for the final of the 67th edition of the Cup Winners' Cup are now being invited. Only stadiums with a minimum capacity of 30,000 people will be eligible to bid for the final, and bids should be posted in this thread with relevant details of the stadium and its facilities.

SteuerLig-1 Final Standings
Frigates Head Procession Start To Finish

Though their foot came off the gas in the final straight with the race well and truly over, FC Städeli showed a class throughout the season which could barely be matched, taking them head and shoulders above anyone else in the SteuerLig as they led from start to finish - only after one round, a third of the way through the season, did they drop off the top when St. Bernadine Athletic threatened to equal them. They soon fell away though, shooting themselves in the foot by sacking the man responsible for their excellent start, Horatio Limit, who offended the board by looking indiscretely at the Wight national team job vacancies. With him gone, there was no-one to stop The Frigates in their march to the title. They hit a record 129 goals, averaging more than three per game with plenty of spankings dished out along the way, including a 12-1 mauling of HKB Merzberg on matchday 1.

Tijhuis Archimedes and Standard Lily were joined late in the chasing pack by Pirmin Wägeli's emerging force of St. Bernadine Accountants, who secured the 'best of the rest' second spot behind the Frigates without much fanfare, out-muscling Archimedes and Lily in the final phase of games - Lily ended on five game winless run to drop to 4th, but held on to their intercontinental place at the expense of Orchideeën. At the bottom it was a three-horse race to the glue factory as Shakerssen and HKB just about did enough to finish in front of Nelo Holzer's MAG, who's superior goal difference, goals for and against did nothing to help in the end. He was fired with ten games to go but replacement Noah Wingeier could do nothing to stop the drop. Koordinator Satripy at FZK joins Shakerssen's Heldir Zaman in the end-of-season firing line; the Koordinator never made good on the apparent promise of the factory team while the experiment with almost retired Zaman very nearly cost the Shakers their place in the top flight.

Ravën Thoni return to intercontinental football with victory over OSA in the FFI play-off final, ensuring a tricky season ends with something to smile about. The All-Blacks are very much in a transistional stage, fielding the youngest average age team in the league this season, and at times it was a hard slog for the kids. But a 7th place finish was enough to see them into the post-season, where they dispatched flat-lining St. Bernadine Athletic before victory over The Rifles. Orchideeën will be distraught to have missed out altogether after their unlucky penalty-kick elimination by OSA in the semi-finals, and this failure will hamper their strengthening efforts in the off-season.

Season 46 gave us plenty of leadership changes, and in particular, plenty of meaningful head-to-head clashes, so let's get to it.

Matchday One

The season got off with a bang at the Eagles' Club, which has lost some of its luster now that its eponymous tournament is no lnger contested, but still enjoys playing host to the national team on occasion. And, of course, the Rovers are only too happy to call it their "home" on occasion. So it was that they raced out to an early lead against Namiri Independent, with Carmen Doyle-Shain and Nicholas Palmetto scoring early in the first half. Nancy Pos-Nieshka scored after the break, but some lackluster defense from Eileen Gainsborough allowed Rafique Kabir to pull one back for Independent. Meanwhile, in Bassabook, Francis Snemb got the hosts off to an early lead, but a Stephen Marcus brace in tandem with a Derrick Rasmussen goal quickly turned things around for Ephesian, who became the other two-goal winners in the opening week.

Matchday Two

The Rovers kept up their winning ways against the other Namiri side, with Noah Goldbach's goal all they needed to defeat the typically tepid Forest offense. But Ephesian were better than perfect, delivering a beatdown of the Twineur Bugs with goals from Vicki Epplin-Seer, Harold Carre, and the untiring Marcus, so they sit ahead on tiebreakers.

Matchday Three

Ephesian's momentum collapsed in Trink, with Misaki Yukino and David Fram-Olis scoring two quick goals for Nebenstimme. In the second half, the visitors didn't exactly look like world-beaters, but it was still an effortful performance to see them come from behind via Matthew Etah-Atok and Brian Spand-Maunk to salvage a half-point.

The remaining perfect team is...Canbix, who efficiently disposed of Spenson Suburbia via a goal from Katja Tabros.

Matchday Four

Canbix play host to their bitter central rivals, who dominated possession and looked like the better team all day but couldn't make it count. Finally, in the 87th minute, Sofya Turmal-Hence scored a dramatic winner for Keppal Cosmos...only for the hyped-but-iffy wunderkind, Awidlyon Reed, to cheekily add a dramatic but unnecessary follow-up in minute 90+1. That'll puncture the Narrative (not really).

And taking advantage of this opportunity are the 102d Jr.s. Chirpy Jess McHeran assisted Mitchell Frick for the first goal against Twineur, and Joni McMahon made it 2-0. The Jr.s are undefeated, their only draw so far coming on the first matchday against Slogda. Admittedly, Slogda aren't great, so only holding them to a draw is probably nothing to write home about, but whatever, the lead is the lead.

Matchday Five

Admittedly, the lead is potentially a very short-lived thing in a league like ours. 102d are held to a draw by Trink, albeit a more balanced affair than the two lopsided halves that were the Ephesian-Trink encounter. Harvey Laessec-Braun scored first for 102d, in minute 26, but Fram-Olis equalized five minutes later. In the second half, Emika Kuno-Arai put the hosts ahead; it was Gregor Antonivich's goal in minute 77 that secured a half-point for the visiting Jr.s.

They're still undefeated, of course, but the lead now returns to the bitter center once again...this time with Keppal looking like the team that won the title last season, as goals from Jude McWaler, Moses Vekbane, and Reed overcame an apathetic Spenson side.

Matchday Six

Keppal fall to the Rovers, thanks to a Pos-Nieshka goal in the sixteenth minute. 102d have a busier time against Ephesian, as Laessec-Braun and Rasmussen scored in the first half, Juniper McGovern and Marcus scored in the second, and Lukas Helsen-Roan's late tiebreaker gave Ephesian the lead. So, after six rounds, we're...exactly where we were after the first round, with Ephesian and the Rovers tied for the lead and identical goal difference to boot. Football!

Matchday Seven

Doyle-Shain's goal in minute twenty-two gave the Rovers the lead against Spenson Suburbia. They took it easy after that, but then around the hour mark decided they cared about goal difference after all, with Roger Poughkeepsie and Jennifer McYonks each adding on in quick succession to make it 3-0. Ephesian, for their part, were not seemingly interested in worrying about the Rovers' goal difference; they had bigger concerns, like losing to Namiri Independent behind a goal from Narsingh Kumar-Pillai.

Matchday Fourteen

The Rovers hold the lead as long as everyone else combined, then they come to Eglantine Park for their "home" game against FTC United. Eglantine Park will be the site of Josifovo's upset against Zwangzug on Matchday Seven of the upcoming World Cup 96 qualifiers (spoilers); this match couldn't exactly be called an upset, since the Rovers were a mere sixth last season to the Oxen's fourth, but it was still a shift in momentum. Saomun Ajah's goal in minute 35 was all it took for FTC United to defeat the Rovers, and go top of the league in their own right.

Matchday Sixteen

Hey look, here's a team that can be relevant sometimes. Arlington City! Are...eleventh? And not really...good? But that's fine, to be honest, we don't want any one team or teams getting a stranglehold on the title? The point being, they...yoked the Oxen? With a brace? That doesn't really work. Um, the point is, Russell Stedman scored two goals and Arlington beat FTC United. That left the door open for the Rovers, who, in a rematch of their first round match against Namiri Independent, won with a goal from Palmetto in minute 28. (Sure, Independent got to be the home team this time, but you can't really rely on that against the Rovers.)

Matchday Twenty

The Rovers fall to Canbix, with Jane McBride's goal in minute 59 all the firepower the Muses would need...and attention turned to the east FTC, with not only the Oxen but also Ephesian in position to capitalize. Ephesian entered the day four goals ahead of FTC United, so a draw would leave the capital side in the conductor's seat.

Ajah's goal in minute 12 was the only scoring in the first half, an unusually withdrawn state of affairs for Ephesian. The second half, however, more than made up for any perceived hesitation. Three minutes after the restart, rookie Kenneth Umric scored for Ephesian. After the hour mark, Carre assisted Marcus to put them ahead. Not to be outdone, Beppo Hegesa tied it up two minutes later. And ten minutes after that, Ivo Veccia put the Oxen in front, 3-2. That was where things stood after ninety minutes...but Ephesian's endurance carried them through injury time, where Etah-Atok's header in minute 90+4 dramatically secured a half-point for Ephesian.

Matchday Twenty-Eight

With both Uniteds chasing them down, Ephesian hold onto the lead through most of the season's final third. Then they head south to Kerlagrad to face the Rovers, who trail them by a full point and a goal of differential.

They made up that differential within the first ten minutes, thanks to Pos-Nieshka. McYonkers promptly added on, and it looked prescient when Marcus got visiting Ephesian on the board in minute 40. But the Rovers left no doubt, with goals from Goldbach and Nelson Avaunt securing a victory that, they hope, will be decisive. Except it isn't at all, because there are still two rounds left to play, Ephesian are still tied for the lead. And the Oxen are only a point back. And the Oxen are hosting the Rovers at Pallocci Pagoda Park next round.

Matchday Twenty-Nine

Ephesian figured that, while the Uniteds faced a tough battle against each other, they would be able to take things easy and scoreboard-watch down in Slogda. This plan fell apart within the first fifteen minutes, as Megan Petrova gave Alaisti the lead and Ephesian's usually-dominant possession devolved into self-recrimination. But the experienced Helsen-Roan provided a calm head, leading by example with a goal in minute 41 to equalize, and Rasmussen delivered the lead for a win that, while much more stressful than fans in Zwischen might have liked, is a full point nonetheless.

The first half on the east side was another tentative affair, with defenders like Gainsborough and Sullivan Brecht--soon to be starting alongside each other with the national team--shutting down attacks and not giving their opponents much room to break forward. After halftime, though, there was a flurry of excitement that was closer than it looked; Goldbach almost scored in minute 52, before a quick counterattack led to a goal for Marsi Rutdit and the Oxen. Ten minutes later, a Veccia header doubled the lead. A two-goal margin may have flattered the FTC slightly, but it's all tied up where it matters; Ephesian lead by a full point, with the Rovers seven goals ahead of the Oxen in second.

Matchday Thirty

We're not doing a full livestream of all the goals in all the games since there are several other matches that you probably don't care about much, but there are still three teams in contention, so we'll at least try to give you a rundown of those.

1': Well, that was fast. Umric scores for Ephesian to give them an early lead against Arlington, who haven't done much this season.
7': Arlington haven't done much this season, but would be happy to throw a spanner in the works against their northeastern rivals. Otto Suis-Kinnik equalizes, and we're all square.
12': Kit Flannery makes it 2-1 for Arlington! Both Uniteds will be thrilled about this, but that's not enough; either or both of them would have to win to catch Ephesian.
18': Here we go! Poughkeepsie scores for the Rovers against 102d, which puts them on top.
21': 102d don't really have anything at stake except maybe IFCF seeding...but the fact that they're in contention for IFCF seeding, which Arlington and Slogda are not, implies that they're a comparatively tough challenge. So just like that, three minutes after the Rovers' brief ascension, Frick scores to tie it up against the Rovers, and Ephesian are back on top. Do you think they call him "What The"?
36': Ephesian are getting help from elsewhere, but they're not really looking like champions themselves. Stedman blows past Lorraine Rouwen-Horn on defense, and it's 3-1 Arlington.
44': Oh dear. Slogda tried to play kingmaker against Ephesian last week ago, and they're trying again against the Oxen today! Alibek Sheinman gives them the lead just before halftime.
54': Oof. Nobody likes giving away penalty shots, but especially not Ephesian. Bertrand Rascord brings down Stedman like a fool, Meredith Ryland gets to take it and scores. 4-1 Arlington.
68': Marcus, nobly endeavoring to make things slightly less underwhelming for Ephesian, pokes one under the crossbar.
85': Petrova scores and it's 2-0 Slogda, FTC fans are very frustrated that they couldn't take advantage of Ephesian's woes today.
87': Spand-Maunk scores, Arlington's lead down to 4-3 now. Maybe...?
Full time: Nah, that's it. Ephesian back into the title, with the Rovers and FTC United behind. I have to say, this top three is very frustrating for fans who think that we should be a Proper Country with teams that do Normal Things, but very endearing for big-city bandwagon hoppers who find our eccentricities endearing.

For what it's worth, Sporting Esper held down fifth place with a comfortable lead against Trebuchet Cham. Keppal Cosmos entered with a slim edge over Namiri Forest in the race for sixth; amusingly, they each played, and drew against, each other's local rivals. Trink could have surged ahead to overtake them for the last slot, but instead they lost to Bassabook, who have been terrible.

What do you remember of the 102nd Allgnejsa?

1st matchday
What I remember most from the opening day was that I was supposed to go up to Furuvallen with Arnold, his girlfriend Mathilda and her cute mate Jonna that I’ve had a crush on for ages. The last season had been such a party, and he had tried to convince her to join us, and bring Jonna, for a game for months. Now Friska Viljor was playing their first ever Allgnejsan game and everything was just perfect. I arrived pretty much on the dot outside Furu and watched a sea of black and yellow fill up the bleachers, whereas Arnold (who had the tickets, because his dad’s company sponsors the team and gets them for free) and the girls seemed to be running late. I stood there for what felt like ages, and just before the game started Arnold called me and said they weren’t coming because he and Mathilda had gotten into a terrible fight about the rumors circulating in school that said Arnold got together with Lisa during the winter holidays (it wasn’t true). Neither the girls nor Arnold wanted to go to the game, and I became collateral damage and was left alone without a ticket. I ended up paying for a ticket and when I got into the stands Briskeby BK were already 2-0 up. The team lost 3-0 in the end, and everything just felt extremely anticlimactic.

  • IFK Nordstiernan v. Lokomotiv Esaias: 0-2

2nd matchday
What I remember most from the game between Haavika IK and Finntorp IK is the moment when the ref ended it all. It was just such a crazy moment, because Finntorp had been pressing so intensely for an equalizer for like twenty minutes and all of us in the stands were just so nervous we couldn’t even muster a squeak. There were a few travelling northerners there, but they’re not known for making much noise, so the park was just quiet. You could hear the game and the struggle going on down there. And then they managed to keep the clean sheet and we heard the whistle and people realized we’d won, and the cheers were so massive it hurt my ears. It felt like we owned the entire world on that day.

3rd matchday
What I remember most from the game is how the Briskeby fans chanted about the entire Union laughing when poor Valdemar Unge misread a situation and caused an own goal. Fucking bastards.

4th matchday
What I remember most about the day Vasakamraterna came to play Nokkeby BK is how disappointed I was afterwards. I started rooting for Vasakamraterna midways through last season because I thought they were playing in such a fun way and had really cool players and I was really happy when they became champions. My dad didn’t want to buy me their jersey but he did in the end and I wore it to school even though some of the kids hated me for it. I told everyone that they would win but they didn’t and it made me sad.

5th matchday
What I remember most about the first Old Fray of the year is the march north along the water before the game and the pride I felt when the tifo kicked off. Me, Jon, Alex, Sandra and Molly draped ourselves in big Storängens IF flags and joined the big procession just as it crossed into Kejm and people were singing that old song and it was all just a sea of green, white and yellow. Then we got up to Kejm Park and we all participated in making a vast mosaic of the team’s shield and the sun was shining and it was just such a great day and it actually seemed like everyone was kind of ok with it ending a draw.

6th matchday
What I remember most about that game against Norrholmia is the last five minutes when they turned it all around. The southrons were up 2-0 and it all looked pretty bleak. It had been a shitty game from the Hagen boys to be honest; it was like they had forgotten how to play football. It was almost hard to believe this was the same team that bested Lokomotiv Esaias last week, because it was all just so weak and non-committal all around. It was just luck that they hadn’t conceded more, or at least that was how it felt. The vibe in the stands was souring and some people were even starting to leave even though we still had about ten minutes left of game time. And then they took off Niklas Torg and replaced him with Torkel Mack, who had only come to Hagen from Grünerhagen a couple of months ago, and the man just went to town and singlehandedly turned the entire game around with scoring two goals and getting a penalty, after a Norrholmia player was just to slow, and when Daniel Nilsson smashed it and the screen screamed 3-2 it was just unbelievable. Undoubtedly one my top three highlights of the season.

7th matchday
What I remember most about that game was how it made me miss the old days when Bjørnstjerne Eriksen coached us and a team like Briskeby never managed to put one by us. I remember those golden years in the 1980’s when we were Northern Football incarnated and every team out there feared to visit us at home. No one could breach the wall those days, whereas now the wall is so badly crumbled it makes you want to cry.

8th matchday
What I remember most about that game against Nordstiernan was the feeling I got that this wouldn’t turn out the kind of season we were hoping for after all. We had started out with such force, and I think we were even top of the table at this point, and it was such a nice feeling to rebound after that horrible season last year. But that day everything started looking so sluggish again and the team’s flow was just gone and once again you started missing the old players that carried us for so long. It wasn’t embarrassing or anything, you could see they were trying, but the team wasn’t working and it was last season all over and it just gave me a bad feeling.

9th matchday
To be honest I don’t remember too much about that game or that day in general. I remember me and Preben had stocked up with a case of ale and a bottle of akvavit and hit the hills outside of Hagen Park with the rest of the Rösunda crowd at around noon. The sun was out, and we tried chatting up these local girls but they were fucking uptight, and then some Hagen boys came along and started asking for trouble but it all died down pretty quickly and wasn’t a big deal. We were really geared up for pounding Hagen and we had a good time, but we started out a bit strong and were pretty wasted already before we got into the arena. I think Preben puked during halftime and it’s all a bit fuzzy but I remember eating a kebab on the train home and some old bag yelling at me. No big loss though since the team was apparently fucking weak and lost (I remember reading that in the paper the next day).

10th matchday
What I remember most about that day was when Tommy Dolk tried to stop a Allmänna counteroffensive by throwing another ball out on the pitch, and then some of the players chased the original ball and others the new ball. People got real angry and Tommy got a yellow card. But he did stop that attack, and Allmänna never got their equalizer so all in all it was a good move.

What I remember most about when Kejm came to town is when I was walking to the stadium before the game, and I came upon four or five Kejm fans harassing a little boy wearing a Nordstiernan scarf. The kid was crying, and these idiots were pushing him around and spitting on him. I was about to intervene when a group of guys came out of nowhere and smashed a bottle on one of the bully’s heads and the rest of them just ran for their lives. I hate that wannabe hooligan crap, but I must admit it felt pretty good seeing that idiot get smacked. Shame the team didn’t manage to get in a late winner, but honestly a draw is probably more than we could’ve hoped for.

  • BK Rösunda v. IFK Nesby: 0-2

12th matchday
What I remember most about that day is just the feeling of despair. We’d had a couple of wins so far, but it was just so obvious that we had been extremely lucky, and it felt like what little luck we had surfed on ran out that day. Friska Viljor were the better team, and they were closer to score both a second and third goal than we were to score a first. There was this gloomy feeling of doom among all of us who had travelled east.

13th matchday
What I remember most about the trip up to Ursvika is when Daniel Jones headed in that first goal. He’s such a short and stout guy, but man he can jump. Strong like and ox with springs for legs, he just scattered the defenders crowding him and took off like a rocket. It was a beautiful goal and I think it was one of the best we managed all season.

What I remember? The shame. Fuckin the three goals conceded and not even one gained against fucking Haavika at home on Kejm Park.

I never got to see that one live, because I had to go and help out my mother. She’s been sick for a while and then she slipped and feel. Dislocated a shoulder and there was something about the hip as well. So, I went over there to help her with the shopping, cooking and rearranging some of the furniture in her living room because she’s sleeping down there now. We did tune in for the last part of the second half, but we were already down 0-2 by then and it felt a bit like all the energy had been sucked out of the game. It was nice watching with mom though, so in a way it was a nice day because it started a little tradition that we both enjoy.

What I remember most is feeling disappointed, I guess. We’d been playing so well up to that point and only dropped two games, and I was certain it’d continue like that especially since Finntorp had been looking so shaky in so many of their games. I don’t usually travel with the team, and at least not all the way up to Berg, but I had such a good feeling about it. It wasn’t a bad game, and I think we deserved at least one goal, maybe two even. But I guess Finntorp decided to show up, and in all honesty, they probably deserved the win.

17th matchday
What I remember most is how it felt like the teams had just decided beforehand to play one half each. We were killing it in the first half, 2 up after like twenty minutes or so, and Nokkeby seemed like they weren’t even trying. Kenneth Hansen scored a great volley goal; the sun was shining, and the atmosphere was just delirious up on the stands. And then the ref closed the first half and when the teams got back again it was like some bizzarro inversion and all of a sudden Nokkeby came out fierce as I’ve never seen them and our guys panicked and froze or something, because they just kept coming and before you had a chance to readjust yourself, they were level at 3-3. I guess we should be happy with coming away with a point that day.

18th matchday
What I remember most is how boring a game it was. I hate the way Finntorp play, and we played right into their way of structuring the game and it all just ended up with the ball being passed back and forth within whatever team had possession. It was Gösta Bergman who saved it when they subbed him on with like twenty minutes to go. He showed some spirit and produced things. He got us that corner that gave us the winner. Felt great with a win, especially after those two heavy losses, but all in all that game didn’t really get my hopes up for the rest of the season.

19th matchday
What I remember most was how Friska Viljor completely outplayed us. They were supposed to be one of the main punching bags this season and a sure three points, at least at home. But we were so poor, and it looked like a many of our players had just given up. Wasn’t a good day.

20th matchday
What I remember about that day and game is the two own goals. I don’t think I’ve ever seen two own goals in one game, and I’m sure I’ve never seen a game where the only goals scored were OG’s. It wasn’t pretty, but in hindsight it was all kind of hilarious. Poor Karl Soller completely misreads a situation when he was going to pass the ball back to the Hagen keeper and he struck it way too hard, and it just went by his own keeper and into the net. We were all laughing and taunting him bad. And then Åboo headed the ball into our own net on a corner, and that quickly stopped all of us laughing.

21th matchday
This was a great day! Battle of The North is always a big day, no matter if its Finntorp or Segeltorp visiting. We’ve been struggling, both this year and the year before that and the year before that. Hasn’t been easy being a Nordstiernan fan. But we got them this time! It almost felt like the days when Cornelis Ceder played up front for us and scored every other game. It was even, and we had a bit of luck, but I think we deserved the win. And Menexenus Johansson’s canon from way outside the box has to be the Allgnejsan goal of the year!

22nd matchday
Nokkeby Derby! This was the first of those matches I ever went to. The atmosphere and framing were great, we had draped the entire away section in old gold, and I must admit the black and yellow flag display the other guys put up looked pretty good as well. The game itself was a major downer, of course, and nobody felt great about being outplayed by that bush team. I think we all started getting anxious for how the season was going to end after that one.

23rd matchday
What I remember most about that day was when I proposed to my fiancé. I had gotten a Friend of mine who works at IFK Hagen to arrange it all, and right before the kickoff they announced her name and asked her to come down to the middle of the pitch, and instead of Torkel Mack standing their at the front she meet me. I got to borrow a kit and all and the Friska Viljor guys were all in on it as well, which was really cool of them. I got down on my knees and asked her to marry me, and she said yes. It was such a great moment. Of course, I later found out that she had been sleeping with my brother, so the wedding was called off. Hagen won the game, which was nice.

I can tell you all sorts of things about that day, but nothing about the game against Nokkeby. I was boycotting the Segeltorp games at the time. Sure, they won that particular game, but the team was still playing dreadfully.

What I remember most about that day was just giving up. I never expected us to be a dominating force, but I had hopes of us establishing ourselves this first season and securing continued play in Allgnejsan. But we’re clearly not good enough. Not in the long run.

26th matchday
What I remember most about the second Old Fray was probably when that shit Örjan Skog scored the equalizer with only like a minute or so left of the game. So pissed about us not winning there. We had them, and then we slipped up at the end. Sums up the entire season. Me and a couple of mates got into a fight with some SIF-fuckers afterwards and I chipped a tooth. Worth it though.

I remember being proud of the team and proud of being a Finntorp supporter. They never gave up, and they adapted when things didn’t turn out according to plan. With that win, and a couple of favorable results the last three games, we would end up having one of our best seasons in a long time. I remember feeling good, feeling like we had finally turned a page, and thinking that the future is looking bright.

29th matchday
What I remember most about the last Hagen derby is when we heard the result from down in Esaias and how Lokomotiv had won. It meant it was over and no matter what we did on the last matchday it wouldn’t matter because we’ve couldn’t catch up to them now. It was a bitter feeling, but we applauded the players all the same because even if we didn’t make it to the top of the table, they had given us a magical season and beating IFK was a great way of finishing the season at home.

30th matchday
What I remember most? All of it. The entire day was just euphoria. We already knew we had clinched it, and the last game didn’t matter at all. It was more like a giant party, on the stands and out in the streets. I remember drinking way too much beer and making out with some dude from the eastside, and we all sang the old Esaias hymn and waved our scarves and flags. First time we got the championship in 15 years! The game itself? I don’t remember much of it, to be honest, but I remember it ending with Nordstiernan winning with a late goal. I think that pretty much saved them from relegation, which was nice for them, I guess. I can't belive we're going to the Champions League!
